New year, and I forget to post art here all the time, so I'll just do some favourite pieces that I did throughout 2023. Some might be reposted, I forget what I post here. XD

It's mostly just CotC.

Vietnamese Year of the Cat, and the Chinese Year of the Rabbit with Tiziano and "Little Bunny" Pierro.

Spent the early point in the month working on the CotC Chibi Project! Hopefully I get a lot done this year too!

To complement the Valentines drawings, I did a White Day Countdown as well! I drew the partner that I ship them with. I hope to draw the outfits and ships again for Valentines Day or White Day... maybe both? Anyway, that's Barrad, Leon, and Tiziano!

4th Anniversary drawing of CotC's demo! Hard to believe that 2024 is the 5th Anniversary! Better go all out on that one later! Happy Anniversary to Sofiano!

5th Anniversary Countdown and the artwork for it too! I wanted to celebrate with Kit Crossford! One of my favourite NPCs!

July was Art Fight month too, so most of my drawings this month were attacks!

Project Path Action hosted a Weekly Drawing prompt, so I drew Elletrix for Week 3 which was about favourite Guardians of the Light! Love her so much!!

Favourites of October

Seed Story's 1st Anniversary art! I drew all the know Sage Caits! I am happy that they are able to playable now!

Collab for Cinna for the 3rd Anniversary, I still look at this and say, "We did that???" So much fun to draw all of them! And Cinna did AMAZING with the ring forms.

After drawing Saint Sazantos in the anniversary drawing, I really wanted to try drawing him normally. So I did that for the PPA Weekly Prompts, was fun!

My second choice for the PPA Free Week! I love Leon a lot!! Needed an excuse to draw him with the spear that I now headcanon his. (It's the Grandport spear!!) He matched perfectly with the earlier one of Elletrix! They are married!!

Team Asano Secret Santa entry! Was fun to draw this scenario!

Holidays in Grandport would be so lively, so dressing the Elves up as... well elves was fun! And of course incorporating the lord of Grandport with her husband was also much needed! I love Grandport a lot!!

I wanted to draw a 1 Year Anniversary drawing for Erika/Elle's CotC implementation! She was one of the most excitable reveals they've done in a presentation! At this rate, nobody's going to top her reveal unless it's Oskha or Tiziano.

I would like to share my favorite octopath jokeship: Cyrus/Erhardt/Leon.

Why yes I *am* simply putting all the handsome long-haired thirty-somethings together into a polycule.

For bonding time they get into a braiding circle and do each other’s hair. Leon is the best at it because he has experience from doing Baltazar’s hair. Erhardt is second best even though his right hand lacks dexterity due to an old injury. Cyrus is the worst because he just never knows what to do with so. much. hair.

Today I have a Leon/Tressa fic written for a recent fanworks exchange! Tressa and Leon have such a sweet relationship in canon, and it was quite enjoyable to put a romantic spin on that relationship. Some of the constellations mentioned in the fic were inspired by Patricia A. McKillip's The Forgotten Beasts of Eld, as with the 50th anniversary edition coming out this month, I couldn't resist throwing in some references.

I will recommed “Of Use” by @atamascolily! It’s a sort of fix-it fic/alternate ending for one of my favorite TbF characters, Xie Yingluo! I may be biased because they wrote it for me haha but it’s also just a beautiful character exploration, and it really considers what kind of happy ending would be best for such a flawed and tragic character ☺️

Hahaha I am running out of Temenos headcanons…

I think that despite having no formal training, he is a surprisingly good actor! After all, he puts on paper plays for the kids in Flamechurch, and I think he’s shameless confident enough that he wouldn’t get scared or awkward in front of an adult audience. Also iirc his version of the “Stage Actors” sidequest is the only one that doesn’t go off the rails lol

Octopath but make it Pokemon

Indulging in a little crack because I lost to that fucking direwolf several times in a goddamn row so let's go Pokemon AU 

You play as Kit probably but not only are you a fatherless protagonist you don't have a mother now either

So idk man maybe he just stumbles into Flamesgrace and they were like 'tf are you stumbling around without a pokemon for here go fetch kid 

And this is how Kit gets a church-sanctioned starter pokemon

Archbishop Josef's like 'hey you should totally challenge my daughter Ophilia she's a Gym Leader on the side' 

Minutes before getting poisoned 

So Kit challenges the slightly neurotic sister who's having a bit of a meltdown over the rituals that now have to be rescheduled but like who reschedules a religious event this important?? 

And her whole gimmick is Friendship Evolutions 

Including a very protective Espeon 

She tells him to move onto the next gym down south in a hurry as she goes back to check up on her dad and Kit's like aight 

She ends up following him after that cuz not only has she been sent on forced leave but now she's also carrying the literal flame of gods that protects the world from devastation unites all people within their nation 

And Kit's very cool with this because he's seen how much ass she can kick 

So they make it to Atlasdam to make a stopover and while Ophilia's taking care of her business she tells Kit to challenge the local Gym Leader 

The problem was that their local Gym was underground and that the Gym Leader was currently preoccupied with being in Ace Attorney Investigations 3 rather than Pokemon Rogue and Noble like the script tells him to so Kit helps him with that first 

This Gym Leader uses Fossil Pokemon and will not stop talking about literally everything no matter what he did 

So not only is Kit getting his ass kicked he's also being given a lecture on gemstones and theft laws 

Kit swears Cyrus's Archen looked apologetic when the professor started talking about rock formations 

Kit wins, which is great, because that got the professor to stop talking and instead congratulated him on his win 

So Kit meets up with Ophilia again in the square, and they're about to head out when they see Cyrus again at the gate with a briefcase and the explanation that he got booted out of the academy on false charges of p*d0philia and is now out to look for a book 

'Professor it's been literally half an hour since I stepped out of your gym what the hell were you DOING' 'A lot can happen in half an hour, as it turns out! Now where to, fellow travelers?' 

Ophilia and Kit now have to deal with the lectures that they are too polite to try and interrupt 

They hoof it down to Rippletide where they witness a robbery 

And in no time at all they were dragged by the ears by a tiny merchant with surprising strength to drug the culprits 

Kit, Ophilia, and Cyrus decide to commit crimes, and perhaps Cyrus is a little too excited at the prospect of drugging pirates 

So they succeed and kick the pirate's asses- and meet this cool guy Leon Bastralle why they were at it 

While they were having lunch at the tavern after this whole thing the merchant plops herself down next to them with a grin and says 'sooooooooooo wanna challenge the Gym?' 'there's a Gym in this town???' 

Tressa decides to take this moment to flex her team of shiny Pokemon- including like three different Meowths that all throw money at Kit's Pokemon 

They may be Bifelgan incarnate but they stand no chance against Kit's protagonist powers so Tressa gives him the badge 

Right as they exit Rippletide Tressa just decides she wants to travel like that cool merchant that saved them earlier so her parents just take care of the gym they guess??? 

Point is they're a lot richer now in the routes between Rippletide and Cobbleston where oh hello- there's been a kidnapping 

They all help out this burly big dude named Berg and Cyrus keeps throwing him and the gigantic sword on his hip suspicious looks 

But it's not until they confront the baddies and Berg's Aegislash pops out that Cyrus squeals in delight because aREN'T YOU THE UNBENDING BLADE OH MY GODS THEY SAID YOU WERE DEAD CAN I TROUBLE YOU FOR AN INTERVIEW OVER TEA LATER- 

Meowth's out of the bag and Olberic comes clean about his past after they rescue his not-kid 

Cyrus does not leave him alone after this. Because on top of being a professor he's also just one massive history nerd. Olberic is surprisingly alright with this arrangement. 

He's also surprisingly okay with leaving his massive technicality of a gym leader status to the leader of the dude they just took in for murder and pillaging because hey didn't Gaston's men literally skin a dude alive for his wallet 

But Olberic has a revenge quest to go on so it's fine

 TL;DR: Kit is on a journey with a funky starter Pokemon, and instead of being sorted by type the Gym Leaders have gimmicks cuz why not

Ophilia has friendship evolutions, Cyrus has fossil pokemon, Tressa has shiny pokemon, and Olberic is uhhhh Double Battles, I guess 

Does this have a Part 2? No. not yet anyway.

TL;DR: everyone’s a thief but Therion

Ophilia isn’t adopted by Archbishop Josef: she steals to make a living after her parents death.

Her next target, the Lanthorn Aelfric uses to kindle his flame, is only available for a short period of time…

Cyrus runs away from his noble family, stealing on the streets to survive

He opens an orphanage with the spoils of his thieving occupation

He plans on stealing From The Far Reaches of Hell for those in his care, so they may be well educated and able to make a decent living for themselves

Tressa Colzione, a girl whose parents died from the plague. Their abandoned general store serves as her hideout between marks. One Leon Bastralle came into town, yet some annoying pirates are keeping him from staying much longer…

Olberic Eisenberg was once the Unbending Blade of Hornburg. He makes his living stealing from Riverford’s nobility. Gaston, a bandit leader, come into town with the king-killers sword…

Primrose Azelhart… how she longed to use that name. Once a young noble, now a burglar in the Sunlands, this young lady has sworn herself to revenge upon those who killed House Azelhart. A man with a crow tattoo walks into the bar…

Alfyn Greengrass. He’s a lousy thief, always alerting his marks in advance of his plans. He’s a jokester, though Nina of Clearbrook seems to be in a spot of trouble…

Therion Wherion Kerplerion works a lot of jobs. He guards the Royal Library of Atlasdam, selling meat he gains from hunting after work. Whenever no one’s interested in his wares or entering the library, he continues working on his next academic paper. He dances at the tavern on weekends, working as a Cleric of the Sacred Flame in the mornings. He’s been spending time learning to Concoct salves and balms from the local apothecary. He follows along with the travelers when they need him.

H’aanit works as a thief for the Obsidians, her next target being Z’aanta of the Darkwood. She learns from his apprentice Alaic that he’s been missing for a year, and thus she sets out on his trail…

I was super hoping the artbook would contain like, some concept art or something for Alrond and Ori, bc while Ori's design is...probably easy to guess based on her sprite (I just think she's neat and deserves more art), I have no idea what the fresh hell Alrond's...entire...getup is supposed to look like (and also his hair length, I keep seeing fanart w/ it shorter than I imagined it, I legit thought he had like, Leon Bastralle length hair for his bangs at least)

but...alas...I am left to madly trying to interpret the collection of pixels that are the sprites

#if I can get myself back into drawing art regularly and not every other week I wanna draw a lot of Octo2 fanart #(I say as I still have a pile of thumbnails for TS that I've yet to get to) #so the artbook getting scanned is a godsend bc I have really nice art to reference now #but not for the weird side NPCs who I think are SO neat #oracle of lore
