My final TOG art set for the TOG BB!! ✨️

Thank you to @oldguardbigbang for organizing and allowing me to work with three wonderful writers, including @sphinx81 whose summary of a historical AU for Booker x Nile made my heart soar and my imagination go wild with the possibilities, way back in spring which feels like a million years ago lol.

It was so fun to exchange some aesthetics and pins and narrow down the looks - I was inspired by the foldable wooden displays of icons and mummy portraits from ancient times - so it's sort of conveying each of them from both the before and after (but I'll let you read the fic so as not to spoil anything), and then the middle being the revealed portion when both "flaps" are opened.

Given how common the intersex condition is (~2% of the population - how many redheads have you seen?) and the fact that genitalia is not the only physical manifestation of an intersex condition, yes the doctor very much did look at you and decide you looked ‘female enough.’ Indeed your genetic makeup is determined at conception, and your genetic makeup could very well result in the development of an intersex body that may not be externally evident at birth.

Don’t get me wrong, there are issues with the afab/amab dichotomy both colloquially and medically speaking (some people are marked intersex at birth, the dichotomy just reinforces the gender binary with different language, etc.) but it is true that medical assumptions are made at birth based on your external physiology, regardless of genetic or hormonal profile. ‘Biological sex’ is far from binary and pretending otherwise is ignorant at best and dangerously intersexist at worst.

Probably a Comedy

"Hey Henry." a friend called out.

"Yeah?" Henry replied.

"I was talking with some friends about what genre our lives would be, if they had one. What would yours be?"

"FREAK!" The man shouted.

"Get out of our village!" The woman next to him shrieked

"Disgusting." The old man at the gates spat as Henry walked by.

"That's not how that works." a friend sighed. "You two are stupid."

Henry crossed his arms in response. "Udon isn't stupid."

Henry held a small piece of bread in his hands and half of a pig ear. The dark around his eyes warned him that he'd lose consciousness if he didn't eat soon. But Udon, still tiny enough to fit in his lap, looked up with expectant eyes at the morsels.

"I can wait and find something else." Henry thought as he fed the ear and bread piece by piece into Udon's yawning mouth. "Besides, he can taste it and I can't."

"Just eat the fish!" Udon said as he shoved the plate toward Henry.

"No. You eat it. I don't feel hungry." Henry replied.

"You can't feel anything. We sssssaved the world from the Necromanccccer. It's a feasssst! Eat!"

Henry could hear the men from the village gaining on him. He was a wizard, so he wasn't particularly athletic. They were chasing him because they had seen his neck scales and snakelike eyes. They knew he wasn't a normal human.

Eventually Henry tired out and was caught. Usually when this happened the men would just push him into the mud and kick him, but this time a few chickens had gone missing. 

"I don't even have any chickens." Henry thought as they beat him. "Plus, this doesn't even hurt. Also, stabbing me with a pitchfork seems like a bad idea. You need that for farming and now it's all bloody." He didn't say any of this to them though. He knew that meant the beating would get worse.

Eventually, they stopped and returned to their village. Henry scrambled off the ground and held the pitchfork wound to stop the bleeding. Black and blue, he headed into the woods to find a place to sleep.

Question for someone who analyzes these characters more than me:

If JVJ had somehow gotten the three days he needed to get Cosette from the Thenadiers and to a safe place (that wasn't with him), once he turned himself in to Javert, do you guys think he would've stayed at Toulon or would he have continued trying to escape?

Because yes, he escaped as 9430, but that's because he had a reason (Cosette). If he knew she was safe and that he had kept his promise to Fantine, given how willing he is to turn himself in when Cosette's not depending on him, would he still try to escape when there's no one "needing" him on the outside?
