A Sculpture Gallery in Rome at the Time of Agrippa by Lawrence Alma-Tadema + Memnon of Rhodes by Dalton Thomas Rix + Coinage of Memnon of Rhodes, Mysia. Mid 4th century BC
Memnon's career in Persian service had a strange start. In fact, the Persians needed his brother Mentor to defend the Troad (the northwest of modern Turkey), and gave him land in that region. Not much later, Mentor was made Persian supreme commander in the West and married Barsine, the daughter of the satrap of Hellespontine Phrygia, Artabazus, who married a sister of the Rhodians.
Memnon joined his brother and shared in his adventures. For example, when Artabazus rebelled against king Artaxerxes III Ochus in 353 or 352, they assisted him. The revolt was not successful, and Artabazus and Memnon were forced to flee to Pella, the capital of Macedonia. Here, they met king Philip, the young crown prince and the philosopher Aristotle of Stagira. ... The Persians dug themselves in on the banks of the river Granicus, the modern Biga Çay. If Alexander moved to the south, where he wanted to liberate Greek towns like Ephesus and Miletus, they could attack his rear; if he moved to the east to drive them out, their position was strong enough to withstand the attack of a larger army. However, the Persians were defeated (June 334).
Darius, however, understood that Memnon had been right about his strategy. He ordered the Persian navy to move to the Aegean sea; it had to come from Egypt, Phoenicia, and Cyprus, and it arrived three days too late to prevent the capture of Miletus. However, Memnon, now appointed supreme commander, managed to keep the Persian naval base Halicarnassus (modern Bodrum) for a long time and was able to evacuate the town without unacceptable losses. In fact, Halicarnassus was the last Persian victory: after the siege, Alexander needed reinforcements, and it gave the Persians the opportunity to regroup.
—Memnon of Rhodes at Livius.org
Memnon, one of King Darius’s generals against Alexander, when a mercenary soldier excessively and impudently reviled Alexander, struck him with his spear, adding, I pay you to fight against Alexander, not to reproach him.
—Plutarch, Morals vol. 1

Man in a Suitcase: Web with Four Spiders (1.23, ITC, 1968)
"Why me? With your name all you have to do is pick up your telephone, you'd be up to your neck in nice, keen, young Harvard-trained security boys. Probably drum and bugle corps to boot."
"Yes, and those photographs would be in the FBI dossier."
"Or a private one. I could make copies. See what they'd buy me."
"Oh no, you've already answered that. My name is Norbert; you are a discredited American agent. No one will accept your word against mine."
"Good. But I'm expensive. I call it my self-respect bonus."

Lawrence Von Rhodes
This one went through a lot of iterations. Originally he was going to be a Blood Hunter who was formerly a part of a Lycan worshiping blood cult. The thing is that, while thematically very interesting, I’ve never actually liked being a blood hunter. I decided from their to tone it down as a Shifter Monk, however the party already HAD a shifter, and lycanthrope was very much her thing so I didn’t want to interfere with or insert myself into that. I still wanted the cult though, for him to view himself as a “monster” so I took a look at official races that appeared human enough, but with “monstrous” origins. That was how I settled on Kalashtar.  His first name Lawrence was something of an in-joke due to a prominent NPC in a previous campaign. The short version is every Lawrence we met always had something to do with a cult from then on.
Lawrence Van/Von Rhodes "Rhodey" - Kalashtar - Monk (Way of the Drunkard) -
Concept Notes:
Raised in a Lycan-worshipping blood cult.
Blood Hunter + Monk combination may be redundant and unnecessary. Alright for a one-shot but subpar long term.
Full Shifter Monk may be a better idea, albeit less visually dramatic.
Maybe Simic Hybrid instead?
Maybe instead a shifter who found peace in the way of a particular fighting style?
Drunkard with family problems who met a master that taught them a different path?
Dead wife?
Lotta rage about being a shifter? Father still Lawrence and a former Cultist.
Instead of Shifter, could be Simic-Hybrid or a Variant Human (With a trait that makes them seem more "unnatural"). Fallen Aasimar or Dhampir possibly if in a different campaign than Magic is Lost. Maybe Kalashtar?
Maybe don't make their first name Lawrence?
Backstory Concept 1 (Scrapped): Wife was a Fox Shifter, Mute due to damaged vocal cords, taught him martial arts and to be at peace with himself. Rhodey got drunk one night celebrating and accidentally outed them as shifters, which resulted in her murder. Been trying to drink himself to death ever since. Claims to be out to end the life of her killer, but really means himself. Pretends to be jovial. Used to think of himself as a Monster due to being a shifter, but changed because of her, but now thinks of himself as a monster for less visible reasons.
Backstory concept flow: Born into a cult. Deity/Being of worship left deliberately unnamed, and given an ambiguous title so DM can make them whatever. Children weren't allowed to know the name of their deity until a ceremony held on their 18th year. Was a true believer until that time. Children were split into groups. Got over-excited and snuck a peek when they were forbidden, discovering the 2nd group was sacrificing the 1st in a ritual. (He was in the first group.). Ran away from the cult, becoming disillusioned and a drunkard. If a race where abilities would have already manifested, considers himself a monster.
Encountered a mute woman by the name of Mikoto, who taught him martial arts and gave him hope. They eventually married. Got drunk one night, and his memory after that is a sanguine haze. Remembers things like the glint of metal, scent of iron, ambiguous things. Woke up covered in blood and Mikoto dead. Arrange details so it's not clear whether he or someone else killed her. Fell back into his alcoholic tendencies.
Cult Part. Remove Wife. Kalashtar Race, drunk because disillusionment with Cult + Monster memories. Martial Arts come from remembering how "it" moved, different than a human.
Possibly allow DM to pick whatever creature you're connected to, not just Quori.
Backstory Concept 2: TBD, but less over the top and dark.
Appearance: 5′9, average weight. Brown hair, blues eyes. Very handsome. Long flowing hair into a well groomed beard. Thick eyebrows. Lean but muscular build. Very basic clothes. Stained white shirt and pants.

Franklin's lost expedition crew
I was looking at posts about AMC's The Terror and I kept getting confused by the use of first names, so I wanted to see how many of the characters had the same names. Arranging the crew in alphabetical order, I got:
1 x Abraham (Seeley)
4 x Alexander (Berry, McDonald, Paterson, Wilson)
5 x Charles (Best, Coombs, Des Voeux, Johnson, Osmer)
1 x Cornelius (Hickey)
2 x Daniel (Arthur, Bryant)
3 x David (Leys, Macdonald, Young) + Bonus: Bryant in the show but most historical sources I found list him as Daniel
1 x Edmund (Hoar)
3 x Edward (Couch, Genge, Little)
2 x Edwin (Helpman, Lawrence)
3 x Francis (Crozier, Dunn, Pocock)
1 x Frederick (Hornby) + Bonus: Des Voeux, whom I have seen referred to as Frederick rather than Charles on occasion
6 x George (Cann, Chambers, Hodgson, Kinnaird, Thompson, Williams)
1 x Gillies (MacBean)
1 x Graham (Gore)
7 x Henry/Harry (Collins, Goodsir, Le Vesconte, Lloyd, Peglar, Sait, Wilkes)
10 x James (Brown, Daly, Elliot, Fairholme, Fitzjames, Hart, Reid, Ridgen, Thompson, Walker) + Bonus: Ross, who was not part of the expedition but appears in the show
23 x John (Bailey, Bates, Bridgens, Brown, Cowie, Diggle, Downing, Franklin, Gregory, Hammond, Handford, Hartnell, Irving, Kenley, Lane, Morfin, Murray, Peddie, Strickland, Sullivan, Torrington, Weekes, Wilson)
2 x Joseph (Andrews, Healey)
1 x Josephus (Geater)
1 x Luke (Smith)
1 x Magnus (Manson)
1 x Philip (Reddington)
1 x Reuben (Male)
2 x Richard (Aylmore, Wall)
8 x Robert (Carr, Ferrier, Golding, Hopcraft, Johns, Sargent, Sinclair, Thomas)
3 x Samuel (Brown, Crispe, Honey)
1 x Solomon (Tozer)
16 x Thomas (Armitage, Blanky, Burt, Darlington, Evans, Farr, Hartnell, Honey, Johnson, Jopson, McConvey, Plater, Tadman, Terry, Watson, Work)

Jeanne Reynal B.1903, WHITEPLAINS, NEW YORK D. 1983
Jeanne Reynal (1903-1983) is a significant figure of the New York School, a mosaicist who showed with Betty Parsons Gallery. Reynal was dedicated to challenging expectations of the medium by creating, as she described, “a new art of mosaic, a contemporary and fresh look for this ancient medium.” Her work was largely abstract.
Born in White Plains, NY, Reynal apprenticed from 1930-38 with Boris Anrep, a Russian mosaicist working in Paris. This established her interest in working with the medium. Reynal spent the World War II years living in San Francisco, and in Sierra Nevada. Her first solo exhibition was held in Los Angeles in 1940.
Reynal’s father died in 1939, allowing her resources with which to build an art collection. She acquired a 1941 Jackson Pollock painting from Peggy Guggenheim’s gallery -- one of the first ever sales of a Pollock. At this time, Reynal developed a relationship with the first director of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art: introducing her to the work of Pollock and other first-generation New York School artists, and helping to set the course of acquisitions and exhibitions at the museum. Reynal’s closest artist friend was Arshile Gorky, and his wife Agnes (known as Mougouch). Reynal would show her own work in the SFMoMA Annual exhibitions from 1940-46. During her West Coast years, Reynal also developed a friendship with Isamu Noguchi who had enrolled, voluntarily, in an internment camp to aid other Japanese-Americans. She would later collaborate with Noguchi on mosaics for tables of his design. Reynal was also associated with the Surrealists - many of whom were living in exile in the U.S. In 1945, Reynal took a six week visit to the Hopi, Zuni, and Navajo Indians with André and Elissa Breton as interpreter and guide.
Reynal moved to New York City in 1946. At that time, she further developed friendships with artists including Willem and Elaine de Kooning. In 1955, she married Thomas Sills, a largely self-taught African American painter. They traveled together across Russia, Turkey, Greece, and Italy in 1959 to further study the art of mosaic. In 1960, she was asked, by Elaine de Kooning, to take over the organization of a show of Abstract Expressionist women artists held in West Texas in 1960, at Dord Fitz Gallery. It was in this period that Reynal began exhibiting with Betty Parsons.
Reynal was the subject of a traveling solo exhibition, organized by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, in 1964. The same year, a monograph of her work, with essays by Elaine de Kooning, Dore Ashton, and Lawrence Campbell, was published. The solo show traveled to the Sheldon Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska, a city where, the following year, Reynal would create mosaic murals for the State Capitol building.
Reynal traveled with her husband, Sills, throughout South and Central America: Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru. She was influenced by indigenous art throughout her travels. In the early 1970s, Reynal began making totem sculptures utilizing mosaic tesserae and pieces of shell. These monumental works were exhibited at Betty Parsons and at the Art Association in Newport, Rhode Island. In the late 1970s, she made a series of portraits in mosaic (many of artist-friends), and depictions of animals.

After yet another comment vowing to die for Rhodes Bannister…
Rhodes Bannister: Old lawyer/farmer who raised Tubbo and then joined the Hivemind and became their unbudging moral compass. Holds cute mock-trials for bickering kiddos. Kinda tortured Tubbo that one time, but grows from that. A very sweet old man.
Rosalind Parra-Cardozo: A naive Foundation employee who tried to help Tommy and Tubbo escape, and instead was subsumed into the Hivemind. Mom-friend, fell for Foundation propaganda that really needs to get sorted out. Called Tommy a child (clearly delusional).
Lawrence Lethe: He killed Ranboo and Rosalind, and yet somehow he has people rooting for his redemption arc. Which he's going on reluctantly, because he's a bitter guy. Helped Charlie, Halo, Skeppy, Philza, and some others escape I guess. If he wins I stop writing Fault.
Dr. Blake: She's kinda the worst but that's because people hate to see a girlboss winning. And by winning I mean giving Tommy PTSD, cutting off Tubbos' hand, and manipulating anomalies into becoming the monsters the Foundation wants to see. Fully believes she's the vulnerable victim just doing what she must to survive.
Webb: Gaslight king. On the minimizing/deflecting side of the manipulation spectrum. Has a weird rivalry thing going on with Philza. Amnesticized Philza so thoroughly that he forgot his own children even existed (and did a lot of murder about it). Just an alcoholic divorced bisexual trying to protect humanity.
Jasmine Fletcher: The five year old Little in the Hivemind. She’s compassionate and sassy. Her favorite color is ultraviolet! She likes dinosaurs and flying and not being shot by her parents!!!
Chad Bowinger: My favorite tbh. He's just a hyper-competent and respectful body guard turned Foundation goon. What more do you need? Currently living off the grid with Charlie, Halo, Skeppy, and Maureen + wife in what I'm sure is a delightful sitcom.
Anderson Corvin: An archeologist that discovered a dinosaur named Philza. Had a cute wholesome suburban life with Philza, prone to things like rambling about history and getting shot in the head. Had 2 (two) murderous rampages in his honor. Yay...?
Maureen Johnson: A body guard just trying to make the world a little safer for her wife. Willing to trust anomalies, but attempted to thwart escape efforts. Did not appreciate Charlie slime puppeting her body for some reason?
Willow Haynes: An annoying teen conspiracy theorist who discovered fairies are real! Teenage Tubbo was less thrilled about her 'discovery'. Had a Shane + Ryan dynamic with Tubbo. In reality, she noticed Tubbo was lonely and was trying to convince them anomalies existed so they could find someone to relate to.
Morgan: Okay Morgan isn't in Fault. Sue me. They're a shy Foundation Observer who tries to warn employee!Philza not to be obviously attached to the cute new Tommy anomaly. Scared into being loyal to the Foundation. They didn't sell Philza out, but were also a coward.
