I think you will find that my taste is actually kind of garbage but like, in a fun way that makes you go "wow really???" rather than being so embarrassed for me that you can never look at me again. of course that would be fine too haha you know, don't yuck my yum etc but I will try to put together my unfuckable old man rec list right here, right now, and we can all just live with that

3. sun’s angle - dellaluce (they can orphan it all they want but i never forget. very old, but never GETS old, u feel)

4. Hexadyne Meetings - Saesama (the rarity of bro and nanna fics could absolutely destroy me but i really like the interactions between all of the guardians in this one)

5. Flop, Flutter - cthchewy (technicality, big nasty soulless bro yikes sorry)

6. The Estrangement Thing - NoBrandHero (there’s a theme here listen to me don’t be doubtful it’s worth the trouble, there is brojohn in there, which is not my thing at all, but it is NOT relevant to what i like about this fic, and i think if u read it, u will realize that immediately lol (*i am not including second best even though that fic is literally my favorite ds fic ever because it is NOT bro centric))

7. cold front off the pacific - drow_sy (i actually read this bc geometrician bookmarked it lol but it punches down on u and i like that)

8. insect clockwork - SORD (aka, if it was written pre-2013, i’ve read it)

9. Flashing Lights and Raisins - RadioMoth (the strider manpain tag exists for a reason)

10. Hide - Plajus (OG post-sburb type shit. we love to see it)

11. Blackout - lantadyme (bro strider sick fic. Wrow. old shit. I don’t even know how i have held onto these for this many years.)

Things that don't quite fit into the category necessarily but It's MY List Not Yours:

12. signs at sundown - geometrician (I don't need to say it, do I? I think we understand, I do think that. Imagine being canon together with you favorite author. Imagine it. Wow.)

15. play ball! - spacepuck (this is a johndave fic but it has this very stressful atmosphere around bro and dave that kinda fucks me up and also, delights me beyond reason. it tastes like summer to me. sandlot lookin ass. an old favorite)

#im more than 90% sure i tore my acl in my 'good' knee #on Wednesday night before my surgery i went to the bathroom and came back #went to roll onto my bed i guess in a way that wasent good #i heard what i believe was a pop #no pain no loss of stability i could stand fine #i freaked out but had to tell myself it couldnt be because i would not be able to handle it #didnt tell anyone #i was in pain and on oxy and til sunday night and ibuprofen til yesterday night #so i didnt notice qnything until last night what i feel like is swelling #maybe small periods of light pain every now and then #so now i am trying to not have a complete break down of having to 1 spend time rehabbing and healing my left leg #while trying to not farther injure my right leg while having to use it while i rehab my left #i called my docs office but the lady on the phone said i have to make another appointment for another i jury #im going for my post op tomorrow so im going to tell him then and see what he says #most likely an mri and whatever else he says #i hope to god its not it but i am so sure i heard a pop #my life for the next year is going to be terrible

Am sober now which means I'm finally allowed to chat with the other patients. Two of them helped me to fill in some blanks. They saw me sitting in the psych ward lobby - without my glasses and a red, swollen face from falling. One of them went upstairs to get help. Now I know which poor staff members had to deal with me (they're still friendly though so I assume I was at least somewhat well behaved). The guy who got help said I was trying to get up and couldn't and that I was fumbling with my wallet (and, according to evidence I found, made a huge mess inside my backpack). No idea what happened then, though. The docs said I had a CT scan done to make sure my head's okay but I don't remember that.

And the strange thing is that I'm experiencing withdrawal symptoms even though I only had been drinking for 5 days.

Soooo, I haven't mentioned here yet as not to jinx it, but I guess now I can.

I got a training job/work rehabilitation position at a local school and so far it has been great although I've only been twice and we're still putting together my schedule.

But of course this morning I ran a bit to catch the bus (which was early! WHY?) and fell, so it's only the third day and I had to call in because I need to go to the doctor (I scraped my knee pretty bad, and also scratched my glasses (and two tiny scratches on my nose/brow, but the glasses saved me).

Uh. I'm not even upset, just frustrated with myself because this happened only because I'm too eager.

As if the world would end if I had caught the next bus and was maybe a minute late. *is exasperated with self*

I should've known better after getting sick twice and a having minor car accident right at the beginning of my two previous jobs (although I have learned from those and at least am getting plenty of rest and enough sleep to hopefully not get sick.)

Oh well.

Nevermind.

Just had to tell someone/vent.
