More Battle Peak representatives! Unova's representative is Charlie, a biker and private investigator who's also got a personal search going on in the background apart from xir main line of cases. Xe's looking for xir mother, who disappeared when xe was still a kid, and while xir dad was great both of them still wanted to know for certain what happened to Mrs. Hart all those years ago. Maybe that'll get followed up on someday? That's up for Future Me to decide, hehe. Also, I bet you're wondering who Charlie's dad is? Well, while some people call Charlie the heartbreaker nowadays, xir father was quite the heartbreaker in his prime. His name...Charles.

Given that Battle Peak is a Battle Tower-esque setup, Charlie's team is slightly randomized depending on what battle conditions you have set. Xe will select either three (for single battles) or four (for double battles) from their "full" team of six. Xe will always include Krookodile on xir team, and the rest of xir team can include Zebstrika, Archeops, Basculin (idk which stripe, just not white because that one came out after I'd planned all the Cantessy stuff and is a centuries-past form anyway), Accelgor, or Scrafty.

Do you find it weird when more huminoid pokémon are treated as pets? (i.e. giving a lucario or machop a food bowl of pellets vs. a plate and seat at the table)

I personally don’t care what other people do. When our Pokémon eat wherever they choose to. Kingpin eats with his gang outside, Blub and Lockpick don’t eat, Fuzzbutt eats static so he’s wherever he wants, Forger and Crusher both eat in private, Sean and Gregory will sit at the table if they choose, but sometimes they sit on the floor.

Also pellets are what they are supposed to eat. It gives the Pokémon the nutrition and benefits that food does. You can feed a Pokémon items like meat or vegetables, but it would all depend on what Pokémon, and diets can be different. The pellets are just easier (I’ve tried them too, they’re not bad). Sean is the only one that doesn’t eat pellets, and that’s because he eats aquatic plants like seaweed.

How has Sean the Slowking helped you when it comes to talking to Pokemon? What have you learned about wild Pokemon society?

Sean is very useful when it comes to translating and communication, as it gets a lot of the unnecessary attempts to try and understand each other. Before I would have to do a whole bunch of work in trying to read what the Pokemon is saying to me and make sure that I don’t upset it by doing the wrong thing. With Sean here, I can ask a question, Sean would translate it, and the Pokemon that I’m trying to talk with would answer back. Some words don’t get translated easily, so sometimes Sean would have to figure out an alternative way to say a word. But having Sean there makes the process of understanding a Pokemon and how they live and how to heal them if they are injured makes things much easier.

As for what I have learned in wild Pokemon society, I’ve learned a couple things such as that the reason why Zubat are more commonly encountered is because their eyes are so small that any noise that they hear freaks them out and they try to go into the opposite direction, and end up hitting something completely different. Many poison type Pokemon really enjoy eating chocolate as it’s one of their favorite treats and would often attempt to steal them from people’s bags. I also learned from the Scraggy and Scrafty group that follows Kingpin (my wife’s Scrafty) around that if they find someone or something worth protecting, that they would protect it always, and by any means necessary. Which probably explains why they’re so protective of my daughter.

Are you in a relationship?

Yes actually. I have my wife Mary and my daughter Amy who are in Kalos right now as my daughter is still in school. I video chat with them every night, so Amy knows I’m still with her even if I’m in another region. My wife has a Scrafty named Kingpin, a Reuniclus named Blub, a Klefki named Lockpick and a Pinsir that can mega evolve named Crusher. My daughter has a Riolu that she hatched from an egg named Lulu. We plan for the Riolu to be her starter Pokemon when she goes on a Pokemon journey.

Hi Mary. Do you have a little Wooloo or Mareep?

Mary: Hello, I do not have a Wooloo or Mareep. I have a Scrafty, Reuniclus, Klefki, and a Pinsir. I do think those two are very adorable, and Bryan does have an Ampharos that he uses for Mega Evolution research. Maybe I’ll get a Wooloo myself one day? Who knows.
