why are your observations always so on point. always versed in online stuff without being detached. i guess one can really tell the difference between real people like you and influencers who live in a world of brands and free money

some people would say I’m just bitter and jealous and I won’t lie and say that’s not true. its just so hard to avoid? I resent how marketed to we are and how it’s repackaged as “self care” when it’s just lining the pockets of people who think they’re better than us because they’re the exceptional few who can monetise their online content and then complain about what a hard job it is being in the internets public eye. I dislike pretentiousness and inauthenticity and posturing. I’m trying to carve out my values and how I want to create art and make money and what to try and aspire for and I guess it often comes out by defining what I don’t like, and who I don’t like, and why. it comes out very negative, because it comes out of disgust. I don’t believe in being above the internet or too good for it as many people criticising online cultures often come off. but that’s why it’s always in my face and why I’m therefore often disgusted. to be an influencer is so lucrative and socially rewarded, but the cost is the 99% of us. it’s just plain old capitalism in a shiny new #kindlygifted coat.

but influencers are real people and we all have to sell out ourselves for capitalism, it’s not an excuse for the influencer industry I’m just saying it operates in a system we have been in for centuries, it’s just mutated because of the internet. but you do need to remember they very much are real people and to treat and think like they aren’t is naive. I worked 6 days a week for a month to save up £400 and I’m proud of that while knowing that this “grind” lifestyle is capitalist but I don’t have the choice to opt out of it. does suffering make me real?

I stock quite a few types of Skincare in my kit but my go to for extra moisture, a good base and something hydrating that works well under a foundation without it separating is @weledanz 😍 .
