I am 100% a skull fan for absolutely no reason, like, i just love him. so here’s my little photo redraw in my style (except i haven’t done a rendering piece like this b4 so 🤷)

I drew the Arcobaleno! I'm calling it pre-curse just because no matter how many times I tried to draw Colonnello, I didn't like how he turned out. Which means I just have to practice drawing him more in the future >:3

Anyways I'm really proud of how they all turned out. Especially Luce and Verde. A lot of this was just me experimenting and seeing if I could draw them. I learned a lot and had fun doing it!

We know so damn little about Luce and her relationship with the other Arcobaleno but damn if it isn’t fun to speculate about it and the complicated feelings they all have about her

She was the one who helped to smooth away the rough edges Reborn had built by the time they met, who made him feel relaxed, at ease, like maybe the world isn’t as bad as he thought

She was the one who helped Fon learn to maintain his perpetual calm and always treated him as a friend even when others became frightened after an outburst showed just how destructive he could be.

The one who always smiled and treated Skull kindly, the one who not only allowed but even encouraged Colonello to join them, the one who mediated their arguments and gave them an unconditional love and helped them to build a family with one another.

The one who did all this knowing she would also be instrumental to taking it all away

And even so

They can’t hate her

She was theirs, as much as they were hers

If, by some twisted miracle, she appeared in front of them again, though…

They know where they would go

And they know she would be so damn happy, that it’s not with her

The Arcobaleno system is one which fosters love for the sole purpose of breaking it to pieces in the name of a “greater good”

Luce couldn’t possibly have known that they would find happiness, years and years into the future, long after she vanished from their lives

But she would have seen that no future exists in which they forgive her, in which they’re able to see her again, before her time is due

It’s for the best.

All she can do is hope, and pray, and I wonder if maybe, just maybe, wherever she went after she died… She was able to meet a certain man, who pointed her to a certain time, and allowed her to see through a certain ring

Hi I saw your post on Skull and tv series about famous people and I raise you: The public have that sort of relationship to Skull's career as with many of the "acclaimed geniuses" usually the artsy ones aka. everyone knows him but nobody thinks they "understand his true depth", "he was very bright and loud but in private really he was actually sooo mysterious and it was impossible to tell what actually went on in his head when he spoke so much but rarely anything of substance about himself", "he was everyone's friend, but I always wondered if he returned the feeling, he always acted that way around everyone after all" etc. Someone is quoted talking about how he'd always laugh things off to hide what he really meant. It goes on.

BUT here is the KICKER: Skull isn't. He has his own depth of course, but all of this post-mortem rose tinted "mystery" is that he was young and fearless and cheerful and genuinely a bit dumb and hypocritical and very bad at elaborating on the things he said. And best part: now he will never live it down around the arcobaleno and this time it's not even him who was talking himself up in ridiculous ways. (Actually it'd be kinda funny too if it made some canon character actually believe it and look at him differently)

wait, no, i just figured out why he'd hate everything about this. it's because he knows skull, thank you very much. he's among the few who got through the obnoxious ordeal of bearing his bullshit long enough to know him, and to even become begrudgingly glad he did and fond of him but we're not going to talk about that, but now? he's just supposed to stand there and be told he's only ever seen the surface of skull? that he--he, of all people--couldn't tell he was just seeing the surface of him? over decades of knowing each other? he's just supposed to let people not recognize and acknowledge the arduous and praiseworthy achievement that is him having gotten past skull's terrible first impressions until they became close for what it is?

he's just about foaming at the mouth, and tsuna does not give a single shit about it because, as everyone knows, reborn is skull's number one hater. and then tsuna's undeterred work to, like, rehabilitate skull's image or something, actually WORKS because if hyper intuition tsuna says so then??? surely there's some truth to it at the very least???? and it works even more because skull does NOTHING to clear up the misunderstanding.

which brings us to point 2) shameless little gremlin that he is to his core, skull absolutely finds this the funniest thing and takes FULL advantage of it. like suddenly tsuna & co (the 10th gen/varia/shimon/etc) start to actually pay attention to him whenever he's around, trying to see """through him""", and skull makes sure to always be all like "oooh look at me not talking much à la hibari, i'm sooo mysterious and definitely thinking some deep thoughts and not trying really hard to not burst out laughing". or like, the arco are their usual rough but playful selves with him, and instead of snapping at them with no heat behind it either in a well-rehearsed routine the way he'd usually do, instead he's all like "oooh look at me and my fake laugh à la yamamoto. am i really laughing this off because i don't mind or am i just doing it to hide how it actually hurt me? there's sooo much unseen depth inside me".

and they buy it. go all like "oh shit??? maybe--????". and the arco are losing their shit because 3) okay look. consider this: the arco are the ones miserable over this, and skull is the one not letting them live down the new-found appreciation everyone else but them suddenly has of him. because like, the arco's reaction to this can only go one of two ways: either they find it just as funny as skull and help him pull off the whole "yeah this is actually the real me, you just didn't care to notice it before" act, OR. they just absolutely canNOT stand it. they're so mad about it. they're sooo mad about it. they did NOT unexpectedly survive through a curse alongside skull, only to hear they somehow missed everything about him that would have made him more bearable lmao. especially from people among whom most of them have never spent more than an hour with him. have never even TALKED to him even once. their blood pressure is through the roof while skull is living his best life and does not give a single shit about it. also becomes best friends with tsuna in the process of this whole thing because i say so.

Random Headcanons For The Arcobaleno

As we all know the Arcobaleno are the best in their respective fields. However, I like to consider what random thing(s) they could be good at that isn't necessarily related to their field of work.

Fon- I wana say he can gamble really well as I think it'd be funny. Just imagine how upset Viper would be if they ever found out the guy who hounded them for being too greedy was just randomly really good at gambling! 🤣

Reborn- It might be considered unoriginal, but I feel like he'd be good at something like an instrument. Mostly, the violin, trumpet, or else cello. He just gives off those vibes.

Verde- He can dance! Like really well, actually. I mostly see him doing things like ballet, ballroom dancing, the waltz, tango, and the samba. Maybe hiphoo as well-Look. He can just dance, okay?! It's not really evidence, but I think this headcanon of mine has a smidge of credence as he did that cute little dance in that one anime episode. It was filler but still-

Bonus- 20yl both Verde and Mukuro will dance the samba together. Or maybe it's 10yl and Verde has figured out how to reage himself and his fellow Arco to their precurse ages? Both are separate aus I guess

Lal- Nails. I can't even explain why or how I arrived at this. I just think she is really good at painting nails and doing nail art. She doesn't really get to show off her skills often (her nails get ruined too easily at her job), but when she does, it's always mind-blowing. She's painted things like sakura, koi, dragons, etc. on Fon's nails dozens of times. Skull is always begging her to give him some wicked punk style acrylics with studs and the likes. And Reborn? He's a simple man who just wants a clear coat and a French tip. Viper doesn't often ask (they can just mist some stellar nails into existence), but when they do, they usually tell Lal to surprise them. Colonnello only asks for fun/to spend some relaxing quality time with his fiancee, and he always asks for something blue. She's done simple plain blue nails, ombre, marble, and more on 'Nello in the past. It always gets chipped by the next day, but neither really care all that much. For them it was about spending time together. Verde...idk I don't think Lal's ever done his nails. Not because he wouldn't want her to, but just neither have asked. Perhaps they are too shy? *shrugs*

Colonnello- The dude can sing! He mostly does it in the shower. Sometimes, there will be a few Arco pressed against the bathroom door listening to him as he belts some rock song from the 80s. He can totally hit those Areosmith notes!!!

Viper- I feel like Viper could do stuff like knit, crochet, sew, embroidery, and even beading. They feel crafty like that, and you better believe they are skilled!!! They have an old cloak from their childhood just full of gorgeous embroidery. They also buy yarn at discounted prices when there's a sale so they can make people hand knited and crocheted items. A lot of the times, the Arco and Varia will go to them to patch up holes in their clothes. There is always a price! But it's worth it to see Viper's embroidery work. That's just how they patch up holes more times than not.

Skull- Idk, my ideas are pretty basic with Skull right now. He's good at makeup, cooking/baking, and he definitely has a good fashion sense that he never gets to show off often due to always wearing his leather jumpsuit.

You know I love how many different headcanons there are out there for Skull’s place of origin. Personally I see him as American and specifically from the Midwest. Why? Because I love imagining the absolute horror the other Arcobaleno have over his Midwestern salads that aren’t really salads. For example:

Frozen Cherry Salad

Ambrosia Salad which, fun fact, some recipes call for rice too

Snickers Salad

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

And just so many more. I don’t think he cooks often, but when he does, it’s his comfort foods and things like these. And of course he loves to try to share them with the other Arcobaleno. I doubt any of them take him up on his offers.

Arcobaleno Real Names

Just some personal headcanons as to what the Arcobaleno’s real names are. 

This does not include any of the Sky Arcobaleno since those can already pass as real names I believe.

Reborn:  Renato La Rosa

Lal Mirch: Lalita Russo

Colonnello: Marcello Colton (Credit: @alternativeann)

Verde: Raphaël Auclair

Skull: Vitaly Andreev

Viper/Mammon: Silas Grace

Fon: Zhou Fēng (Zhou being the surname)

Reasons under the read more!

Reborn: I mostly chose Reborn’s name because I do really like the fanon name but wasn’t a huge fan of the last name Sinclair for many reasons. Thus, I wanted a last name that not only flowed really nicely with Renato but was also Italian. I decided on La Rosa in the end, since it’s a common last name in Sicily (according to my research, but please do correct me if I'm wrong), where I headcanon Reborn is from, and also Renato La Rosa just sounds so nice.

Lal Mirch: I really wanted to keep the Lal part of her name intact and always pictured her as at least half or mixed but not fully Italian. I imagine she goes by just the nickname Lal as she was tired of people butchering her name (and as someone with a “foreign” name I very much relate).  I also have the headcanon that all CEDEF members use code names with the theme of spices and herbs, which is why she would go by the name Lal Mirch. As for her last name? I just thought it flowed well…

Colonnello: The account @/alternativeann made a post about Arcobaleno names as well, and they gave the name Marcelo Colton to Colonnello and I absolutely loved it. I hope they’re okay with me using it as well, since it just suits him so well. I also love the idea he’s part American. 

Verde: Another first name I had contemplated going with is Victor but Raphaël won me over in the end. Like many others, I do go with the idea he’s French, specifically from France. And no offense to the French, but he fits the pompous, and rude stereotype they have.

Skull: Vitaly because it means life! You get it? B-because he’s the immortal stuntman… Maybe that’s a bit of a stretch, haha… I'll admit the last name is chosen completely at random. Oh, but someone on discord mentioned to me that they’ve seen Vasya used for Skull and I like that one a lot too!

Viper/Mammon: Essentially, my thought process was that, since Mammon is a biblical figure (not the KHR character but the actual Mammon), I should pick a biblical name for their real name. I’ll admit this now though, I grew up Buddhist, so I’m not the most familiar with the bible… For the last name I decided to make Mammon English and once again play into the biblical theme. This is the one I struggled with the most, so if anyone has better ideas please let me know! Fon: The exact characters are 周風, Fēng just being an alternate Romanization of Fon. It’s still the same character used and, since Fon also works as a name, I could see him just going by his given name. As well, because I'm a little split on the idea of him originally being part of the Mafia (or Triad) before he was cursed. I could also just see him being a famed martial artist or civilian of some form.

I just had a pretty cool plot bunny hop my way.

What if the Arcobaleno Curse did more than what Canon showed? What if it didn't just manipulate the Arcobalenos' bodies, but also their minds?

What if the curse erased their memories of little moments that lead to them becoming a functional harmony?

Like, they spend a couple of months together pre curse at least, but there has to be more. They are the strongest!! Yet they never seem to fatally step on each other's toes? They never irreparably get on each other's nerves?

Sure they act like strangers towards each other at times, but fundamentally there is a lot of acceptance and respect going back and forth between them.

More thoughts under the read more cause this might get long.

An example of the seemingly unconditional respect they share, is Mammon's situation with Varia and everything concerning that. That alone is a huge betrayal! But ultimately their decision is respected and they aren't excluded from the group really.

I'm sure there are more examples hidden in how they enable Reborn's behaviour and begrudgingly tolerate Skull's actions, but my brain is very much stuck on what little moments the curse might've erased...

Do they tolerate Reborn's general behaviour, because at one point in time, Reborn had a heart to heart with each of them in which it's revealed that he's the youngest Arcobaleno and he has a lot of feelings of inadequacy?

Is Colonnello's integration into the group easy because, before the fated day even happened, they all kept running into him sneaking around the mansion to observe Lal and they had many fun little chats with him?

Do Fon and Mammon have so much tension going on, because before the curse happened, they were an item in an unofficial way and they both feel angry with the other for forgetting, even though they don't remember themselves?

Do they maybe give Verde a lot of distance, because they discussed his social aversions pre curse, but it's backfiring now, because Verde doesn't know why they're so distant and now it's bothering him?

And I somehow can't imagine Skull never took them to one of his Stunt Shows pre curse, so could that be why, even with Skull's mess-ups being numerous and huge at times, they have this admiration they can't shake and it makes them so mad?

What if Reborn is so lost in thought and mellowed out post curse(if I remember right lmao), not just because the curse is lifted, but in a split second afterwards, a whole bunch of memories flooded back to him and he's thinking his actions over because. Well. Things have suddenly changed. The power dynamics shifted. Suddenly they are all on the same page again? That's gotta be a bit disorienting lmao
