'Movie watchers awaiting the big "double feature" later this month were left thrilled when the cast of Oppenheimer reunited for a small gathering over the weekend.
Robert Downey Jr. took to his Instagram to share a pair of photos from their little get-together, featuring his co-stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and Matt Damon.
The group were spotted grabbing a pizza dinner as they posed for pictures on a balcony, surrounded by the dazzling New York skyline on all sides.
The moment featured a surprise cameo, though, as they were joined by none other than Emily's husband John Krasinski, standing behind the group as they flashed a few funny faces.
Robert, 58, even teased in his caption: "Linking up with my Oppenheimer cast mates…wait, is that a Krasinski photo bomb or might there be a surprise cameo???"
Fans of the upcoming biopic thriller loved seeing them together in a more relaxed setting, although it was the 47-year-old Cillian who stole the show with his comical expressions, a departure from his usual proper appearance.
"Cillian wasn't just smiling, he's wide smiling. This doesn't feel right," one joked, while another also added: "No way you got Cillian to pose like that."
A third also wrote: "Cillian can smile like that? It's Barbie effect y'all," while one follower gushed: "What a dream it could be to be in this photo."
The biographical film, based on the story of American theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, charts the creation of the first nuclear weapons. The star-studded cast also features Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, and more.
In a recent interview with WIRED, director Christopher Nolan said of the film: "Oppenheimer's story has been with me for years.
"It's just an incredible idea – people doing these calculations, and looking at the relationship between theory and the real world, and deciding there's a very small possibility they're going to destroy the entire world. And yet they pushed the button."
Speaking with GQ last year, Cillian elaborated on the casting process just ahead of beginning prep for Oppenheimer, saying: "I'm not good at auditions.
"I think if you really want to be outstanding at acting, you have to go through a big process of getting in touch with the character you're playing, [recognizing] what's going on, and getting involved with what you're going to create. Auditions are the opposite. They stress me out. You can't get into the role in 15 seconds and that's all you have."
He further explained what it took for him to inhabit his usual cadre of intense roles: "It's important to take time between characters to be able to approach them from the right perspective and also to grow as an actor.
"I think it takes me about three months to move beyond a protagonist who was very important to me. It's not that I'm a method actor, who lives with his role in real life all the time, but it does affect me and I have to get some distance to be able to face another challenge."'

Tony Britts Cause Of Death: Britt Birthday Bash Gets Underway As The New Year Draws Near
Tumblr media
Tony Britts, a British-Ghanaian, gained notoriety for his physique and most recently went viral for it. On November 24, he was born in Ghana. He is currently pursuing a profession in fitness and bodybuilding while residing in the UK. Additionally, Tony has worked as a fitness teacher for BBC, which has exposed him to the public and thrust him into the spotlight. In addition to this, he has amazing dancing abilities and is used to dancing and choreographing.
Tony Britts Cause Of Death
Tumblr media
Tony Britts Cause Of Death Tony also served as a fitness instructor for the BBC, which gave him exposure to the general public. He also choreographs and dances and his dancing movements are fantastic. Tony, however, is no longer with us since he supposedly received an AIDS diagnosis and died in 1988 at the age of 32. Tony Britts is a Ghana-born British fitness specialist. He was raised in London, England, but was born in Ghana. 1988 saw his passing. Tony Blitz is 5’9″ tall with black eyes and hair. Britt Birthday Bash Gets Underway As The New Year Draws Near
So how exactly did Brad (Parry Shen) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) do in terms of planning Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) birthday party and making it a smashing success? We got a glimpse of the party on Thursday’s episode of General Hospital, replete with shirtless waiters and bartenders, a drag queen, and some epic karaoke tossed in for good measure. When Britt enters the Haunted Star, she compliments Maxie on how amazing everything looks and thanks Brad for the attractive waitstaff! Following his arrival, Austin (Roger Howarth) has private time with Britt. He hopes she is changing her mind about skipping her own celebration and leaving town altogether. Britt explains to Austin that she is making a gracious departure rather than fleeing. She admits that her one-way ticket to destiny will allow her to easily disappear as soon as the clock strikes midnight. https://twitter.com/SoapCrush/status/1608579881725566977 A drag queen then briefly takes over the celebrations to signal to the attendees that it is time to hit the dance floor. Brad and Maxie continue to get praise from Britt for making this a night she will never forget. Approaching Austin, Liesl (Kathleen Gati) expresses her gratitude for his friendship with Britt. She then cautions Britta not to dance too much and exhaust herself. It’s all about having fun tonight, Britt tells her Mutta.
Who was the BBC fitness instructor?
During the height of the coronavirus epidemic, I certainly didn't anticipate becoming a part of the resurrection of home exercise programmes. Considering CEO Mike Ashley's blatant contempt for workers' rights and safeguards, I'm hesitant to advocate for the purchase of resistance bands and yoga mats from Sports Direct. https://twitter.com/Arden_Forester/status/1255031982800678918 I wasn't expecting to be reporting about the state of the internet by discussing the struggles of social media fitness celebrities to get to the top of Instagram's cutthroat engagement hierarchy. Nonetheless, the BBC has retrieved archived film of teacher Tony Britts, a man I am now completely infatuated with, filling the hole of interest in fitness routines previously present on the internet. Tony guides his TV audience through a performance that feels both scripted and spontaneous in Twice as Fit, a three-minute feature on BBC's Breakfast Time, the 1980s forerunner of today's BBC Breakfast. “Hi! So, I figured, "Hey, let's do three exercises today and attempt to integrate them as we have been." Tony's enormous physique is covered in gorgeous fit-wear, and nothing quite prepares you for the ease with which he moves it. This dance-aerobics-yoga hybrid goes well beyond the limitations of the typical training DVD from the '80s. Someone on Breakfast Time said, "I think his hips run on ball bearings." Instead than expecting people to perform to Tony's athletic standards, Twice as Fit provided a safe haven where people could try to mimic his physical prowess in the comfort of their own homes without fear of ridicule. _______________
💙 Stanley "Stan" Marsh: Stan plays on the football team as captain, his father put pressure on him but in the end he liked it. He has an open relationship with Wendy, They have dated from a very young age and decided to take the time to have more experiences but continue their relationship because they love each other.
He is currently dating with Gary Harrison, but has had casual s3x with boys and girls, Kenny McCormick, Henrrieta Biggle and Lexus for example.
🛠 Toolshed: The new wave of crimes has brought the arrival of superheroes ready to defend truth and justice. One of them is Toolshed, a young man with mental powers over any type of tool.
________________
💚 Kyle Broflovski: Kyle has been working as a receptionist in his father's law office to raise money for his tuition, on the one hand he finds the experience and money useful, but on the other he has learned that he hates lawyers. When he's not in the office, he's in the drama club watching his boyfriend work. Eric Cartman is the most unbearable person in a love relationship, he constantly victimizes himself, but Kyle already knows him well enough not to be influenced, he has learned to ignore him when he behaves like a b*tch, he still loves him very much and knows that he does his best of himself.
☄ Human Kite: Due to the new crime threat Kyle has decided to help. Turning into the Human Kite, he can shoot lasers out of his eyes and has incredible healing abilities making him a versatile member of the team.
___________________
❤ Eric Cartman: He is not exactly a good person, but in recent years he has given up his childish attitude to improve step by step. He actually pursues one of his passions, to command people .... Uh ... I mean, to be the director of the school drama club. His boyfriend usually helps him when he is not working and thanks to him he has learned a lot about tolerance and patience, but let's accept that he still has a lot to learn.
He loves to wear feminine clothes and has an alter ego called "Bad Irene", but he gets very angry if someone uses feminine pronouns with him.
🐾The Coon: This superhero is not driven by freedom or justice, nor by helping people. The Coon wants media attention to feel special and if he has to help a few assholes to get it he will. He is just a guy with a raccoon mask and metal blades in his fingers pretending to be claws, he is lethal, he is bipolar, he is strong, he is agile, but above all ... he is very cute.
________________
🧡 Kenneth "Kenny" McCormick: He is still the poor boy in town, but he has tried so hard to get money to go to the University of Denver, he plans to study "Pure and Applied Sciences". The money comes from his part-time job at a S3x Shop. He is currently single, but has casual s3x with boys and girls, including Red McArthur, Butters Stotch, Annie Knitts, Stan Marsh, David Rodriguez, and just about every raisin.
❔ Mysterion: He has always helped the safety of his town from the shadows, but the crimes have increased and he may need more help than he wants but he will do what is necessary to make the town in which he grew up safe for his sister and friends. Mysterion is an immortal creature from the abyss, he cannot die, if he does he will be reborn the next day, above average strength and exceptional agility is the hero South Park needs.

That would be it, sorry for the poor English. If you have questions from the au you are free to ask them 🧡❤💚💙

MAD MEN BOOK RECS
Tumblr media
Happy pride/Don Draper’s fake birthday ❤️ Below the cut, I’ve listed info on my favorite Mad Men related books and a couple I haven’t read yet but I’m really looking forward to. Let me know if you check any of these out, or if you have any other recommendations! ❤️
Mad Men Carousel: The Complete Critical Companion by Matt Zoller Seitz
“Mad Men Carousel is an episode-by-episode guide to all seven seasons of AMC's Mad Men. This book collects TV and movie critic Matt Zoller Seitz’s celebrated Mad Men recaps—as featured on New York magazine's Vulture blog—for the first time, including never-before-published essays on the show’s first three seasons. Seitz’s writing digs deep into the show’s themes, performances, and filmmaking, examining complex and sometimes confounding aspects of the series. The complete series—all seven seasons and ninety-two episodes—is covered.
Each episode review also includes brief explanations of locations, events, consumer products, and scientific advancements that are important to the characters, such as P.J. Clarke’s restaurant and the old Penn Station; the inventions of the birth control pill, the Xerox machine, and the Apollo Lunar Module; the release of the Beatles’ Revolver and the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds; and all the wars, protests, assassinations, and murders that cast a bloody pall over a chaotic decade.
Mad Men Carousel is named after an iconic moment from the show’s first-season finale, “The Wheel,” wherein Don delivers an unforgettable pitch for a new slide projector that’s centered on the idea of nostalgia: “the pain from an old wound.” This book will soothe the most ardent Mad Men fan’s nostalgia for the show. New viewers, who will want to binge-watch their way through one of the most popular TV shows in recent memory, will discover a spoiler-friendly companion to one of the most multilayered and mercurial TV shows of all time.”
A classic episode-by-episode look at the series from reviewer Matt Zoller Seitz.
The Legacy of Mad Men — Cultural History, Intermediality and American Television (Edited by Karen McNally, Jane Marcellus, Teresa Forde, and Kirsty Fairclough)
“For seven seasons, viewers worldwide watched as ad man Don Draper moved from adultery to self-discovery, secretary Peggy Olson became a take-no-prisoners businesswoman, object-of-the-gaze Joan Holloway developed a feminist consciousness, executive Roger Sterling tripped on LSD, and smarmy Pete Campbell became a surprisingly nice guy. Mad Men defined a pivotal moment for television, earning an enduring place in the medium’s history.
This edited collection examines the enduringly popular television series as Mad Men still captivates audiences and scholars in its nuanced depiction of a complex decade. This is the first book to offer an analysis of Mad Men in its entirety, exploring the cyclical and episodic structure of the long form series and investigating issues of representation, power and social change. The collection establishes the show’s legacy in televisual terms, and brings it up to date through an examination of its cultural importance in the Trump era. Aimed at scholars and interested general readers, the book illustrates the ways in which Mad Men has become a cultural marker for reflecting upon contemporary television and politics.”
This is a really beautiful collection. It was published in 2019. It’s rather expensive. (I found a used copy for much cheaper.) If you can afford it, I really, really recommend buying it. There is a pdf floating around if you know where to look though. But like I said, it’s really amazing work and the women who curated it deserve high praise and compensation.
A few favorite essays of mine include “Don Draper and the Enduring Appeal of Antonioni’s La Notte” by Emily Hoffman, “Mad Men’s Mid-Century Modern Times” by Zak Roman, “Mad Men and the Staging of Literature via Ken Cosgrove and His Problems” by Aaron Shapiro, and “What Jungian Psychology Can Tell Us About Don Draper’s Unexpected Embrace of Leonard in Mad Men’s Finale” by Marisa Carroll.
Mad Men and Philosophy: Nothing Is as It Seems (Edited by William Irwin, James B. South, and Rod Carveth)
“With its swirling cigarette smoke, martini lunches, skinny ties, and tight pencil skirts, Mad Men is unquestionably one of the most stylish, sexy, and irresistible shows on television. But the series becomes even more absorbing once you dig deeper into its portrayal of the changing social and political mores of 1960s America and explore the philosophical complexities of its key characters and themes. From Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle to John Kenneth Galbraith, Milton Friedman, and Ayn Rand, Mad Men and Philosophy brings the thinking of some of history's most powerful minds to bear on the world of Don Draper and the Sterling Cooper ad agency. You'll gain insights into a host of compelling Mad Men questions and issues, including happiness, freedom, authenticity, feminism, Don Draper's identity, and more.”
This collection was published just a month before the start of season 4, so it only concerns the first three seasons of the show. As such, it includes some assumptions that are proven false and a few strange misreadings that I’m sure would’ve been cleared up had they had the rest of the show at their disposal. But there are some great philosophical insights and analysis.
I haven’t yet read the whole collection, but my favorite essay of what I’ve read so far was “Pete, Peggy, Don, and the Dialectic of Remembering and Forgetting” by John Fritz.
The Fashion File: Advice, Tips, and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of Mad Men (by costume designer Janie Bryant)
From Joanie's Marilyn Monroe-esque pencil skirts to Betty's classic Grace Kelly cupcake dresses, the clothes worn by the characters of the phenomenal Mad Men have captivated fans everywhere. Now, women are trading in their khakis for couture and their pumas for pumps. Finally, it's hip to dress well again. Emmy-Award winning costume designer Janie Bryant offers readers a peek into the dressing room of Mad Men, revealing the design process behind the various characters' looks and showing every woman how to find her own leading lady style--whether it's vintage, modern, or bohemian. Bryant's book will peek into the dressing room of Mad Men and reveal the design process behind the various characters' looks. But it will also help women learn how fashion can help convey their personality. She will help them cultivate their style, including all the details that make a big difference. Bryant offers advice to ensure that a woman's clothes convey her personality. She covers everything from where to find incredible vintage clothing and accessories to how to pair those authentic pieces with modern shoes and jeans. Readers will learn how to find their perfect bra size, use color to convey a mood, and invest in the ten essentials every woman should own. And just so the ladies don't leave their men behind, there's even a section on making them look a little more Don Draper-dashing.
I recently ordered a used copy of this book and haven’t yet received it, but I’m very much looking forward to it. Like Mad Men and Philosophy listed above, it was published between season 3 and 4, so unfortunately does not cover the whole show. It sounds like it might just cover the women’s costume design, though I’m not sure. Janie Bryant is such a meticulous, genius costume designer that I can’t wait to read it. Relatedly, you should follow her incredible costume design instagram where she posts lots of her work from Mad Men and other shows with fascinating insight into her process.
The Universe is Indifferent: Theology, Philosophy, and Mad Men (Edited by Ann W. Duncan and Jacob L. Goodson)
Centered on the lives of the employees at a Manhattan advertising firm, the television series Mad Men touches on the advertising world's unique interests in consumerist culture, materialistic desire, and the role of deception in Western capitalism. While this essay collection has a decidedly socio-historical focus, the authors use this as the starting point for philosophical, religious, and theological reflection, showing how Mad Men reveals deep truths concerning the social trends of the 1960s and deserves a significant amount of scholarly consideration. Going beyond mere reflection, the authors make deeper inquiries into what these trends say about American cultural habits, the business world within Western capitalism, and the rapid social changes that occurred during this period. From the staid and conventional early seasons to the war, assassinations, riots, and counterculture of later seasons, The Universe is Indifferent shows how social change underpins the interpersonal dramas of the characters in Mad Men.
I only just found out about this collection, but I’m very interested in finding a copy. This was published in 2016. You can see the table of contents here. EDIT: This book is available to read on Scribd. They offer a 30 day free trial.

Terry Bradley art piece featured in Sir Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast to be recreated as peace wall mural
Tumblr media
Terry Bradley with his revised Docker's Rest painting as it appears in the film Belfast
Artist Terry Bradley has said it’s an “incredible honour” to have one of his signature Dockers pieces featured in Sir Kenneth Branagh’s seven-times Oscar-nominated film Belfast.
A huge mural of the north Belfast man’s Docker’s Rest at Hickson’s Point, Titanic Belfast, appears at the start of the film, recreated in vivid blue and repositioned on a wall.
As the camera leads the audience over the wall, from the contemporary, colourful city into the black and white Belfast of 1969, Bradley’s artwork is the last main splash of vibrancy viewers see. However, there are occasional momentary flashes of colour showing Branagh’s love of the cinema as a child.
Now a giant replica of the artwork, featuring nine dockers painted in striking blue, with a similarly-toned background, is to be painted as a mural on the peace wall at Lanark Way in west Belfast.
It will be painted by a locally-based artist specialising in spray paint, based on Bradley’s revised artwork that features in the film.
Bradley, whose paintings have appeared in TV shows including EastEnders and Vera, said: “I got an email a while back asking if Docker’s Rest could be used in a movie Branagh was making about Belfast.
“I had been commissioned to paint a piece for Hickson’s Point and that was the image they wanted to use. I presumed it was some type of documentary-style film, with Branagh walking around the streets of Belfast, talking about his childhood.
“To be honest I pretty much forgot about it then, until the trailer came out and I realised this was actually a really big deal; it’s a Hollywood movie that’s being seen around the world.
“The artwork has been changed slightly, it has been recoloured blue and repositioned on a wall instead of a building. But the fact the image takes the audience over the wall, from colour to black and white and from present to past is amazing. It’s an incredible honour and I’m absolutely delighted.”
What makes the use of Bradley’s artwork even more personal is that, like Branagh, he came from a working-class part of north Belfast and grew up there around the same time. While Branagh’s family relocated to England at the outbreak of the Troubles, Bradley’s left the Manor Street area and moved to Carryduff on the outskirts of the city. And like Branagh, Bradley was also nine years old at the time.
“I understand Branagh’s story because in a way, mine is quite similar,” he said.
“The dockers who feature in my paintings are often real characters; men I remember walking home from the shipyard when I was a child.
“My paintings feature strong men and strong women who have been through tough times but are still standing, and that’s the same as the people in the film Belfast. Those people had a profound effect on me as a child.”
The Department of Justice and a local cross-community group commissioned Bradley to come up with a piece that could be turned into a mural at Lanark Way, so he painted the exact replica from the film. Northern Ireland-based artist Friz, who painted Bradley’s murals in Belfast and Bangor, is expected to bring the movie one to life at Lanark Way.
Bradley’s work has been snapped up by customers as far afield as Australia and the US and hangs on the walls in the European Union’s Brussels office.
He added: “I was really shocked when I first saw the trailer and saw just how massive Docker’s Rest was. I want to show Belfast and its people in a positive way with my art and Branagh’s film does the same.
“There are so many great artists in Northern Ireland that he could’ve gone for, so I’m very proud and delighted that he chose mine.”

Spidey loves the kids
So this comic was in hiatus because COVID and...the revolution outside so it’s nice to see some normalcy that has nothing to do with the status quo of policing in this country.
Tumblr media
Politics aside, Miles Morales: Spider-Man #17 starts out with Miles swinging through Brooklyn and then overhearing a kid crying. Apparently the kid got jumped by some kids from school for being too damn fly.
Tumblr media
So this comic implies that the kid is queer identifying(TERFs don’t interact) and was going through a bit of queer bashing. I think this is the second confirmed queer character in Miles Morales Spider-Man run with the first being Jessica Drew. If you don’t want to count her due to the sketchy implications of her origin, fine but regardless it is great that the comic is starting to embrace more characters like this and there has been a shift in characterization towards men being more gender fluid in fashion and sensibilities in this comic(Sean and Judge) due to how much more open and aware Ahmed is compared to Bendis who admitted that he didn’t want to approach the topic out of fear of misrepresenting them. Regardless, this kid named Kenneth created a nice Spider-Man moment with Miles.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I love this because these are the kind of things that Miles can relate to and do. If this were Peter instead of Miles, Peter would immediately relate to being bullied and not really getting why Kenneth was bullied. Peter would walk this kid to school just like Miles but Peter wouldn’t really compliment the kid’s fashion sensibilities nor would he follow the kid on Instagram and support his creativity. Miles goes that extra mile, pun intended, because he, while he wasn’t bullied like Kenneth nor Peter, gets it on a empathetic level and immediately tries to uplift the kid’s spirit by supporting the interest that was the catalyst for his beat down.
That nice bit aside, the comic then reminds the audience that Miles is an unsupervised teen vigilante with CRADLE trying to apprehend him.
Tumblr media
For those who don’t know, this comic is part of the Outlawed event which can be summed up as Civil War for Teen heroes. There are other tie-ins such as Magnificent Ms. Marvel, Power Pack, Champions, Ghost Spider and the infamous New Warriors reboot. The arc was put aside because of the pandemic and it’s nice that Eve Ewing can still write her event.
So I like to point out this dialogue between Dum Dum and Miles Morales about Fascism and Dum Dum’s retort. I think we all need to have some discussion about Fascism because too often, Dum Dum’s retort and people who use Nazis as the end all be all Fascists get away with not actually addressing Fascism.
Nazis are Fascists. No denying that and I am not going to do this sliding scale of good Fascists vs bad Fascists. There is no such thing as good Fascists except being the case of a dead one. That said, Miles could have quickly retorted that he inferred them to being Fascist not a Nazi. Regardless, CRADLE as far I’ve seen are not Fascist. They are authoritarian. Every Fascist is authoritarian but not all authoritarians are Fascists. I mean if the past couple weals have shown you anything, Liberalism can be authoritarian too. I am only digressing because I feel like we should have an honest dialogue about Fascism and how it’s presented in media. And it is timely that Outlawed is supposed to analogous to the state’s repression of protest and civil rights.
Anyways, Miles thumps CRADLE and escapes to school. There he meets up with Ganke and Judge and they pretty much comment on the police state at school.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah. This is Miles’ new obstacle. On top of the other obstacles but yeah we will get to that. After CRADLE leaves, Miles goes to meet his parents and baby sister where they discuss CRADLE and Miles is annoyed that his mom defends Kamala’s law. Except for the whole detaining teen heroes who fight back thing. That part is not cool.
I just want to say that it is cool that this comic is back and the quality didn’t dio at all. Carmen Carnero’s art is a bit of a shift from Javier Garcon but it isn’t a step down at all and I can’t wait to see what else she does from this point forward with the characters. I see that she took more inspiration from Pitchelli’s and Marquez’s design for Ganke and Miles which will take some getting used to because I liked Ganke’s beard and man bun and I liked Miles’ waves.
Overall great comic but when is it not been the case since Ahmed took over?

That Eye Chapter 18
On Wattpad
“We need to take a closer look at the teacher.” Remie says as we drive away from the Samuel’s. “I know we ruled that avenue out but..”

“We are running out of leads.” As usual, I finish her thought.

We both sigh. To believe a trusted educator guilty of such a horrendous crime… but, with Owen and the Samuel’s cleared, Anya and     are the only ones left.

“Anya?”

“Yeah, let’s deep dive her also, see if CSI has any more for us. The farther away the crime is…”

“Yeah, the less likely it is we catch the perp.”

We head back to the precinct to dig into the past of the educator and the cheerleader. Officer Kenneth meets us at our desks.  “We found a barely there shoe print a few CM’s away from where the body was found. Seems the perp walked barefoot away and stopped there to put shoes back on. Seems he or she was standing on one foot and pressed down enough to leave it.”

“Wonderful. Can you tell us anything about the perpetrator or the shoe?”

“Of course Remie, that is why I am here. It is a boot print. Not a workman’s boot, more the ones worn for fashion.”

“So a women’s shoe?”

“Come August, are you so far out of popular culture that you don’t know men wear fashion boots too?”

“So, no determination of men or women?”

“No sorry. But it isn’t a light weight person. Not a obese person but no stick either. A healthy or a bit over weight.”

“Leaves out the cheerleader.” Remie mumbles. I nod in agreement. Anya is off the hook. Unless she hired someone to do it. Not probable.

“Thank you Officer Kenneth. This is very helpful information.”

“No problem. Anything I can do to help. I want the slaughter of that poor soul caught.” He lays the report he just summarized down on my desk. “I will let you know if I find more.”

We both read over it. A boot print, male or female. The person wearing it was estimated to be between 150 to 200 pounds.  “How much does that teacher weigh, did we notice the footwear?”

“I would say in that range. No I didn’t.” I answer, already reaching for the phone to call the school.  I listen to it ring before getting a recording. It informs me that school is out until the fall. “School is out until the fall.” Remie frowns.

“We can’t wait that long to do the interview.” I agree. She picks up the phone at her desk and calls the district attorney. “Yes Halle, this is Remington from homicide. Fine thank you. Is he in? I see. Will you have him call me back or just come by? Thank you. Good bye.” She lays the phone down and turns to me. “He is in court.”

“Your thinking a warrant?” she nods.

“We need to see the place, search the car and classroom.”

“Agree but do you think we have enough for a warrant?”

“Maybe just. Depends on the judge.”

The reality is, some judges are more lenient about signing warrants with the sketchy evidence we have then others. But we both know that the longer we wait, the more likely evidence will disappear. We need to move fast. While we wait, we search the teacher’s social media. In this day and age, you can find out more about a person that way, then any  other.

“A liberal.” Remie says. I shrug. Expected in that profession.

“No partner, or none named.” I add a few minutes later.  That is unusual. Unless    is private. Possible but.

“Weird.” Remie stretches and pops her knuckles. “Must people have at least one, relationship status.”

“Yeah. Lennon documented every stage of our relationship.”

We continue to dig.    Had attended high school here, university a few states over. No marriages, no children. Paying a house after renting for years. No heavy debt, other then the house. A 2015 Buick that is fully paid for. A dog, a Boston terrier. Her picture is all over Facebook and Instagram. A YouTube channel of    recordings of the reading of classics. Political but not over the top. A fairly routine and typical life. Unless..

“Hey Remie, you called me.” Our district attorney is Doug Shelby. For the last few years, he has openly flirted with Remie. She has resisted his advances, so far, but he has never given up.

“Yes Doug. We have a suspect in the Willow Samuel case and need some warrents.”

He nods. “This ones a true shame. Her whole life ahead of her.”

“We agree. We need to check out.    A teacher at her school.”

“A teacher! Hell, I thought all there kind was in big cities.”

I chuckle. “We only wish. There were reports that this person spent a bit more extra time with Willow, enough to make her uncomfortable, a flimsy alibi, then there is the shoe print.” I go on to explain.

“It is thin but I have worked with less. Not much less but… I will see what I can do.” He walked out , given Remie a wink.

“Come Remie, throw the poor guy a bone. Go out with him.”

She glares at me. “I have explained why I won’t.”

“Yeah, no dipping your pen in company ink but, you know I meet Lennon when she was a dispatcher.”

“Yes, but you are better at all this then I am.”

“What relationships? You know the way to get better?”

“Lay off it August. We have a murder to find.”

He returns with the warrants soon after. “Judge Atkins owed me a favor. Now you do Remie.” She simply scowls at him. I thank him before we head  out to serve the warrants.

Sharon Rooney: One Of Everything (Virgin Media)
As new series Finding Alice airs on ITV, Sharon Rooney talks about checking on your strong friends, building mansions on The Sims and falling down a YouTube rabbit hole on the daily
“Make a will,” Sharon Rooney urges us. “It’s so boring and so stressful and sad, but just take an afternoon out and get it done.” The Glaswegian actor, best known for her lead role in My Mad Fat Diary, is surprisingly upbeat and matter-of-fact as she discusses our mortality. Her latest project, Finding Alice, which deals with death and grief head-on, has rubbed off on her – small talk be damned! “It made me realise how important those conversations are that no one wants to have, because it’s inevitable – no one’s getting out of this alive.”
Finding Alice, created by The Durrells’ director Roger Goldby, writer Simon Nye and star Keeley Hawes (who plays Alice), almost immediately opens with a death. Alice’s husband Harry (Jason Merrells, Agatha Raisin) falls down the stairs in the dream home he’s built for her and their teen daughter Charlotte (Isabella Pappas, Paranoid). It’s clear he hasn’t planned for this eventuality (nor did he plan for a bannister) and Alice is left to deal with the fallout, which includes the secrets Harry leaves in his wake.
youtube
Sharon plays Nicola, who copes with the death of her older brother by attempting to stay positive for everyone, as well as acting and dressing loudly (“I’m the sassy one!,” she proclaims at Harry’s inquest) – something Sharon had a say in. “I said, “What about headbands?” There were about eight different ones. And I said she’s got to have a necklace with her name on. That’s Nicola’s armour,” Sharon says.
“The brighter the clothes get, the worse she’s feeling. Everything is to compensate. It’s so important to check on your loud friends just as much as your quiet friends. With Nicola, I think, “Who is checking on you?” It’s made me send a few texts that I hadn’t [previously], because I thought, “Oh, they’ll be fine.””
Tumblr media
Despite the difficult topics the show covers, you’ll laugh a lot as the darkly comic humour shines through – Finding Alice screams, “Let’s talk about death, baby!” in a relatable and honest, yet funny and amusing way.
For example, Alice can’t figure out where the fridge is in the house (it’s a complicated smart home) and wonders why a “compare the coffin” website doesn’t exist, eventually opting to buy Harry’s from Amazon. “We all experience grief at some point,” Sharon says. “It’s not all awful, you do learn to laugh again.”
Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) plays Alice’s stand-offish and judgemental mum, with Nigel Havers (Coronation Street) as her quiet but well-meaning dad. Gemma Jones (Bridget Jones’s Diary) and Kenneth Cranham (Layer Cake) also join the cast as Harry’s parents, and Rhashan Stone (Strike Back) is a mortuary worker who becomes Alice’s “death guru.”
Before you tune in for the show, which Sharon describes as a “wee bit of TV soup for the soul”, here’s one of everything from the entertainment world that she’s loving right now…
TV show: I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
I really love Giovanna [Fletcher, from series 20], I think she is a super mum. I also really like Beverly [Callard]. I’d love to live in a castle. I’m slightly jealous of them, although not that jealous, because my couch is much comfier.
Box Set: The Royle Family
This is my third time re-watching The Royle Family during lockdown. I can quote the whole thing from start to finish.
Film: Stepmom
I watched it when it first came out many moons ago and I enjoyed it, so it’s a film I always go back to. I’m a really bad re-watcher, I’ll re-watch the same things over and over. I love a film that makes me cry!
App: Instagram
I spend hours on it. You know when you go into the search bar and they put videos you think you’ll like? Before I know it, I’m like, “Oh, that’s 40 minutes gone.”
Friend you always call: Best friend Anna
We met at college when we were 16 and I speak to her pretty much all day every day. She’s got the pink sparkly love heart emoji next to her name in my phone.
Video game: The Sims
I don’t play with the actual Sims, I just enjoy building houses. It’s really relaxing, because there’s a clear end goal. Don’t tell my agent that’s what I do – they think I’m doing very serious actor work, but I’m actually just building a giant mansion.
YouTube: Vlogs
I like Disney vlogs, family vlogs, people going about their day vlogs, and haul videos, where people buy stuff and show you. I do watch people building Sims houses – I wasn’t gonna tell you that…
Podcast: Janey Godley
I’ve been listening to her podcast for years and years – it first came out in 2010. She does it with her daughter.
Documentary: American Murder: The Family Next Door
I love all the crime documentaries. I also really like 60 Days In, where they put normal civilians in prisons to find out what’s going on inside. I also like watching YouTube videos on real crime – and then I wonder why I have weird dreams.
Guilty pleasure: YouTube videos
It’s all of the ones I’ve just told you! I’ll watch anything and everything. It’s probably YouTube videos. The other night, I went into a Dance Moms dark hole. I clicked on a recap video by accident, and before I knew it, I’d watched all of them. Or, those Facebook videos where they do funniest babies, funniest dogs, funniest cats. I’m usually watching them in my trailer.

When is ITV’s Finding Alice on TV?
Finding Alice airs on ITV HD (CH 113) on Sundays at 9pm, with the first episode screening on 17 January. The six-part series will subsequently air every week until Sunday 21 February.

419. Cats in the news
Yeah, I know, I’ve been gone a while. I have two cat related excuses, however:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a new Zine out! This one is all about Cats. It’s big and its pink, and it has Marlene Danielle on the cover:
This is the fourth issue of my zine, "Sale Into the 90s". This issue is all about the musical "Cats"--but nothing about the 1998 movie because that's been discussed to death. It mostly focuses on the history of the musical on Broadway, and my favorite items I’ve found online. This zine will be bound together by my sewing machine. Images will be in black and white.
I need to also make volume 3 of the YouTube Favorites Zine too. I never promoted Volume 2 earlier this year. Oop.
The other cat related news is that I now I have a cat who keeps my very busy:
Tumblr media
He decided it would be cool to get under my parents sunroom at 8 weeks old back on the 4th of July weekend and yell for help one night.
Tumblr media
I didn't know about Michael.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(from eBay user “sabu_the_coconut_boy” -- luv that name)
This wouldn’t fly in 2020. Nieman Marcus just selling designer cats for thousands of dollars. They don’t even look very unique.
Tumblr media
Here, people get up n arms (or, paws) over misinformation about polydactyl cats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I forgot to put the date in, its from November 22, 1991)
Tumblr media
I actually ran across this commercial the other day when I was thinking about doing an entry about cat commercials!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had no clue that this silly column about taking the stitches out of Tickles the cat, would wind up being a religious column. I didn’t even notice the “Paper Pulpit” up top.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bart needed that fish.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, I didn’t now util recently that Kitty Litter was an actual name brand. I don’t think the brand is still being made anymore?
--
oh! I have one more Cats article before I go:
Tumblr media

Kenneth Ard tore the cartilage in his knee, has been out of the show for three weeks and will have to undergo microsurgery.Deborah Henry was accidentally dropped on her knee by two fellow dancers, has been out of the show for two weeks and is walking again with the aid of a cane.Stephen Hanan cracked a bone in his foot while jumping off a gangplank, and was out of the show for three weeks.Marlene Danielle got a hernia from her nightly routine of being dragged along the floor and thrown over another dancer's back.
I think Marlene got that hernia during the scene where Demeter jumps on Macavity who is dressed like Old Doot after he captures Old Doot.
Old Doot.

“The American ideal, then, of sexuality, appears to be rooted in the American ideal of masculinity. This ideal has created cowboys and Indians, good guys and bad guys, punks and studs, tough guys and softies, butch and faggot, black and white. It is an ideal so paralytically infantile that it is virtually forbidden – as an unpatriotic act – that the American boy evolve into the complexity of manhood.”
This quote by James Baldwin is the first thing you see when you enter the Masculinities exhibit at The Barbican, which I just got back from. (This cultural excursion pretty much represented my first time properly venturing out and taking public transport to get somewhere non-local in over four months! It felt like a surprisingly anxiety-inducing big deal!). The exhibit is a provocative wide-ranging, multimedia exploration into conceptions of “maleness” from the sixties to the present day, featuring works by the likes of Catherine Opie, Laurie Anderson, Peter Hujar, Isaac Julien, Andy Warhol and David Wojnarowicz. My favourite room featured luscious 1960s portraits by Swiss outsider photographer Karlheinz Weinberger (1921 - 2006) of sullen leather-clad bikers posed like defiant peacocks, while in the corner, Kenneth Anger’s fetishistic and homoerotic 1965 short film Kustom Kar Kommandos (with its soundtrack of The Paris Sisters cooing “Dream Lover”) played on a continuous loop. Had I died and gone to heaven? Meanwhile, Adrian Street’s 31-minute documentary So Many Ways to Hurt You (2010) about the life and times of campy bleached-blond “glam rock” Welsh wrestler Adrian Street was so fascinating and absorbing I wanted to pull up a chair and watch it in its entirety. (I found it online once I got home!).
Let’s face it: the puritanical, hypocritical and homophobic hellsite Tumblr has become a dying platform since it banned adult content in December 2018. I post here less and less. Follow me instead on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or on my blog. Fuck Tumblr!

the   berkowitz   family name has long been one that holds prestige & power . among the 1% for over a century . they are a prominent banking family that has had their hands in the pots of nearly every big banking company across the nation . coming into the united states after word broke of the california gold rush back in 1849 , the berkowitz brother’s were of the lucky few to acquire pounds of gold by the thousands . later founding what would become a leading investment bank known as berkowitz capital . the generations to follow would capitalize on the head start given to them by the two brothers . expanding the family company as well as the knowledge of the family name through heavy involvement in politics alongside the kennedy’s . since as early as 1953 there has always been a berkowitz family member actively appointed to a political role ( governor , senator , representative , us ambassador , etc ) . although the families roots within the states are documented in the capital of california , as generations went on they made their way over to the east coast , with most of the family members now residing in southern florida .
the   rachelson   family is a prominent political family . synonymous with power & eloquence . with their rise initially taking place in the british parliament . many escaped to england from germany between 1933-1935 . they hadn’t settled into the states until jocelyn rachelson ( jalissa’s maternal grandmother ) was appointed the united kingdoms ambassador to the united states in 1987 . the rachelson’s have since had heavy involvement in the us government , both behind the scenes and at the forefront . much of the rachelson family have stayed within the european union ( germany & poland ) as well as england . although the few that followed jocelyn to the states now reside in washington dc and the tri-state area .
henry & austen had met through their mutual friends . it didn’t take long before the two became a rather public couple , a supercouple if you would ( similar to that of a brangelina of the 1% ) . although they’d met in new york the two decided that when it was time to start a family they wanted to move to hilton grove , an island austen had eyed for years . instead they found themselves moving down to fort lauderdale where henry had grown up . before they knew it , they were three kids deep in settling down in fort lauderdale . austen’s anger from never wanting to build a life in florida started to tumble into the relationship & the daily life of the family & so in an effort to recover the marriage henry agreed to moving the family up to hilton grove , where they have resided ever since .
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐉𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐀 𝐄𝐑𝐀
jalissa was born the second of three children and oh boy does she suffer from middle child syndrome , riddled with a envy and a need to be in the mix . the berkowitz household , although , from the outside looking in looked like a fabulous family life was anything but . jalissa , like her siblings , was born on a pedestal & what came attached with that was even higher expectations from her parents . her parents found a way to be extremely authoritarian & uninvolved all at the same time . they were very dismissive if you disappointed them & everything jalissa did seemingly did just that .
for a long time she was obsessed with getting her parents approval , she’d turned life into a silent competition between herself & her siblings . she befriended only the people her parents approved of , did all the events they asked her to do , did everything she could to excel academically & only dated people who were of benefit to her parents ( people who’s parents where also in high places ) .
during highschool she joined the model un , debate team , and soccer team . if it were up to jalissa & not her parents she’d probably had joined the cheerleading team but her mother would never let that fly . it was too “ self indulgent “ to fit the family brand ( if only she’d known what would be coming years later lol ) .
it wasn’t until she was seventeen that she started to deviate from her parents wishes . of course , the catalyst to this was a boy , one her parents hadn’t really approved of but jalissa was completely head over heels for him . he really helped her boost her confidence to be her own person ? and not allow her parents to treat her like a puppet . with his encouragement she started her youtube channel , something she’d wanted to do for years but her mother had shot down the idea anytime jalissa brought it up . it was once again too “ self indulgent ” . the channel known as callmejalissa was an outlet for her , talking to a camera was the most heard she’d felt in seventeen years of her life . and god she knew that was hella sad . she really grew to view her subscribers as family & by the time her channel was brought to her parents attention ( more like her mothers , her dad had found her channel just four months after she’d made it and promised not to tell her mother so long as she was smart about what she posted ) she was about to turn eighteen and there wasn’t much they could do to stop her from doing it .
at eighteen she’d graduated highschool salutatorian with offers from university of pennsylvania & brown university . in all honesty she didn’t wnat to go to college , she saw it as a complete waste of her time . it wasn’t like she was going to do anything with the degree anyways . it would simply be a point of bragging for her parents at events & at this point she really could care less about them being able to brag to their friends . she knew she had to play along though , because this was the same year she was going to receive her first half of her trust fund ( a whoopin 500m , yes her trust fund in total will be 1b her parents are grossly wealthy guys ) so she bamboozled ? her parents , promising she’d committed to attending penn just so they’d allow for the money to be released to her account . she moved out of the house , literally moving into a house of her own a couple blocks from her parents house & claimed she was living in pennsylvania for college . we stan a sneaky binch .
two months later her parents were at her front door , though , ready to give her an ear full . her mother basically disowned her at this point . telling her how every year jalissa found a new way to be a bigger disappointment . her dad kind of played good cop , like he normally would because her mother often dug into her pretty deeply . to the point where any insecurity ( even though with the way she carries herself you’d never think she has any ) she has stems from something her mother has said / called her in the past . if henry berkowitz had a soft spot , it was certainly jalissa , it that had only grown clearly with the harsher austen became on the girl .
a few months before her nineteenth birthday a sex tape was released of jalissa cheating on her boyfriend at the time . it was a drunken mistake she’d made around the time of her mother basically disowning her , but that explanation did suffice for her boyfriend who inevitably broke things off with her . although this was a horrific time she’d received an abundance of offers to film more tapes . it was enticing to say the least . she was someone who loved intercourse but also had this deeply rooted desire to get back at her mother ? and what better way to do so then to something so far left from what her mother was about . this was next level disappointment in the eyes of austen berkowitz . the only thing that made sense ( in her mind ) was to dive head first into the porn industry .
like you’d expect her parents had a fit when they found out about her new career choice . although her internet fame had soared to new heights and her youtube & instagram followers were loving every second of this move . her mom was currently serving as governor and has since not been able to get elected in the political world since jalissa became one of the top porn stars around . they basically blacklisted her & jalissa feels no remorse , she’s gone so far as telling her mother “ sucks to be shunned , huh? ” .
although it took her dad a while to come around , he cares far too much to shut her out .
not to long after jalissa & her best friend started their podcast tickets to our downfall , it’s a mix of call her daddy & the basement yard , basically two besties talking on a level that most people wouldn’t want to leave the privacy of their own space , giving advice , hoe tricks , and telling funny stories of their past . it a total hit & one of jalissa’s favorite things to do .
she live sin the same house she has since she was eighteen . she lives on her own with three dogs and a cat . she absolutely hates being alone and so maggie ( a tan corgi puppy ) , louis ( a  yellow lab puppy ) , humphrey ( a chocolate lab ) , and cedric ( a orange scottish fold ) are her babies that keep her sane in her big ole home .
𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘
as you can tell jalissa is chaotic , impulsive , reactive , and overall just searching for attention . she doesn’t care if the attention she receives is for the wrong reason or not , as long as she’s getting it . despite this she’s a good person ? i promise . she’s very friendly , loves a good joke & having a good time . very fun loving . she’s the type of person to try and bring up everyone else’s mood even when she isn’t feeling 100% herself . she’s loyal to those she deems are loyal to her . sometimes she’s bad a seeing who is actually loyal to her though & will be disloyal to someone who actually has her back ? oops . she’s definitely not the type to sugar coat anything for you , she tells it like it is & refuses to apologize if that hurts your feelings . if you cross her ? i’ll be praying for you . she’s the type to fuck your s/o , tell your boss some wild story about you & dump alcohol over your head at an event all in the matter of a week . don’t get her going , she’s absolutely relentless . with that said she’d very affectionate ... ? you can catch her hugging up on whoever is next to her at all times . touch is her love language , because lord knows she’s no sweetheart . she hates the stereotype of porn stars / internet personalities being ditzy , although she didn’t attend university she was accepted into two ivy leagues based off her academic abilities alone . the girl is intelligent & enjoys having a clever conversation from time to time .
𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
a girl squad or just a squad in general really , give my baby her lil group of people please
her ex boyfriend from when she was seventeen ( he’s mentioned above ) but basically he’s the one who encouraged her to not let her parents make her their puppet , they didn’t approve of him , jalissa fell head over heels for him . they would’ve dated for nearly two years because the sex tape of her cheating on him came out .
the person she cheated on her ex with ? maybe they’re the one who leaked the sex tape ? maybe they never even told jalissa they were recording ?
her best friend that she does the tickets to our downfall podcast with ? these two are literally like twins , just two peas in a pod ( pun intended )
fans of her work ? and im not taking about her youtube channel or podcast
ex hook ups that think she’s crazy ? she probably gave them reason to think so lbr
frenemies give me blair & serena circa season one type of shit
just plain old enemies , they were probably friends at one point or maybe just have always disliked one another ?
smoking buddies were they literally just hot box cars together and munch on taco bell talking about why sound vibrates & shit
someone who isn’t afraid to confess their love for jalissa but her damaged ass refuses to confess her feelings for them ? so it’s just this constant cycle of them having a good time , them being sweet & her just gets weirdly quite & starring at them before she complaining about them going and ruining the vibes
she’s a bad influence on them ? they’re a good influence on her ? ride or dies ? partners in crime ? only friends when there is a substance involved ? sugar baby vibes ? unlikely friends ? flings ? crush ? friends with benefits ? everytime they are around one another its a fight ? someone she lets crash at her place sometimes ? someone she’s backstabbed & maybe they don’t even know she has & they still think she’s a ride or die for them ?
