you knew what you were doing was going to lead to heartbreak, but at the moment you couldn’t care less. you and kai had planned a picnic in a nice field that the two of you had been visiting since you randomly found it as kids.

at the moment, you were listening to kai talk about this girl that he’s been going on about for months now. the wind was flowing smoothly over your skin from the open window, the spring breeze cooling you off. it was nearing summer now. “we have a date later today that i’m actually really nervous about,” kai spoke, his eyes briefly glancing at yours from the road. “i really really like her, y/n.”

you turned fully from the window to him. despite your heart fluttering at your name on his lips, you gave him a small grin as you said nothing. kai had pulled up to the field, which had saved you from answering anyway.

looking down to your hands in your lap as he parked, you tried to ignore the crushing weight of your heart. of course it wasn’t you he liked—how could you be so naive? this wasn’t some sort of fairytale. you still remember vividly overhearing kai’s conversation at the surprise birthday party you and your mutual friends had threw for him. “don’t be ridiculous,” he had said.

“i could never see them that way.”

you got out the car, looking over to see the top of kai’s blonde hair kiss the sunlight and turn golden. a smile formed on your face. as long as you had kai, that’s all that mattered to you. you didn’t need anything else—not this town, not this road, not this field. not even the sunshine, you’d much rather be clouded in darkness. just him.

grabbing the picnic basket and the blanket, you followed kai out to the field. the field was quite beautiful, the lush green grass was spread across the rolling hills with tiny multicolored flowers dotted about. it looked straight out of a painting that claude monet would’ve painted, and it belonged solely to the two of you.

jogging a little to catch up with kai’s long legs, a giggle slipped from your lips. kai looked at you with a small smile playing on his mouth, “what?” another giggle escaped you as he dodged out of the way of a bee, shaking his arm furiously as the bee tried to land onto his arm after. “they must think you’re a flower,” you replied.

you wouldn’t doubt it, he looked like a sunflower if you’ve ever seen one. blonde hair like honey and rosy cheeks as sweet as pie. kai chuckled, “why are they only going after me then? what about you?” he waved his hand in the air at you to insinuate you’re just as much of a flower as him. you shrugged, “must not be shining as brightly as you are.”

kai tilted his head at you and shook his head. he then wrapped an arm around your shoulder as you both continued your way to your spot in the field. “come on now, don’t say that! you shine just as bright as me, if not more. if anything, we shine brighter together!” you couldn’t disagree with that.

you laid the blanket out onto the grass and kicked your sandals off so you were barefoot, kai doing the same. you sat down onto the blanket and began taking out the wrapped food the two of you had prepared. the wind picked up just as kai went to lie down, flicking the blanket up. instead of laying on top of the blanket, he was now laying fully in the grass. either kai didn’t notice, or he didn’t care about the change.

“the clouds are so beautiful,” he breathed, tucking his arms behind his head. you placed the remaining food onto the blanket and scooted over slightly so you could lay down next to him. pointing, you grinned as you tried to ignore the heat rising in your cheeks, “look, that one looks like a duck!”

kai looked over to you and it made you realize how close the to of you were to each other. “a duck?” he asked incredulously, “that’s clearly a boat!” you returned his gaze with raised eyebrows. “a boat? maybe you should get a new prescription…” you shot back. kai playfully nudged you, causing the both of you to laugh.

you sat up and reached for the muffins you had bought. as you took a bite out of it, savoring the sweet flavor, kai spoke up. you turned to see that he was sitting up now, unwrapping a sandwich as he looked over the field. “i think she’ll really like it here,” he stated before taking a bite from the now unwrapped sandwich in his hand. raising an eyebrow, you lowered the half eaten muffin, “what do you mean? you’re bringing her here?”

“yeah, it’s breathtaking here,” kai shrugged as if what he just stated meant nothing. “she said she wanted something quiet but meaningful and this is absolutely perfect.” you abandoned your muffin in the empty space where it once sat in the container. he had your full attention now.

“but this is our spot,” you spoke slowly. it was as if you were trying to convince yourself that what you just heard come out his mouth somehow got twisted and you were trying to set the record straight. kai just nodded, adding nothing. so you did. “our spot—since we were kids, kai.”

kai nodded once more. “i know, y/n. what’s the issue here? it’s a field. we can find another field if you want to,” he furrowed his eyebrows at you and anger started to rise in you at the confusion in his voice. why didn’t he get it? even if you didn’t have any feelings for him, this was still your spot. your field—just the two of you. not the two of you and some girl.

“it’s not about finding another field. this field is suppose to be sacred—just for the two of us—and you want to bring some girl to our spot?” you practically seethed. desperately, you tried to control your tone, but the anger that had seeped through refused to be hidden. kai sat up straight and you knew you had made a mistake.

“it’s not just ‘some girl,’” kai said defensively. “she’s my girlfriend, and i can take her wherever i want to—even here. it’s just a stupid fucking field. it’s not even that special.” you opened your mouth to retort but all you could get out your mouth was a choked, “g-girlfriend?”

kai rolled his eyes at you, not hearing what you said, “save it, y/n. this is ridiculous.” he stood up from his spot in the grass and grabbed his shoes. kai began walking the path back to his car barefoot and you quickly stood to your feet. “you’re leaving me here? are you fucking serious right now, kai?” you shouted after him. kai continued, clearly ignoring you.

you watched as he got to his car and roughly flung the driver’s side door open. watched as he yanked his shoes back on and watched as he ripped out of the small gravel road and drove furiously away from you.

slumping to your knees, you let out a deep sigh. it looks like you’re walking home. you looked over to the spot in the grass where kai was just moments before. it was as if he didn’t even leave. the grass was still indented in the shape of him. your heart broke and your eyes watered as you reached over to softly touch the flattened grass.

packing up the food and the blanket, you tried your absolute hardest not to break completely. you knew this would all lead to heartbreak, and still—still you continued. foolish. you should’ve known better, maybe then all of this could have been avoided.

breathing out another sigh and looking over the field one last time, you began the walk back home. you were sure this was the last time you’ll ever be in this field again.

"you're so pretty ' junnie" , you said it so casually but that sentence alone made yeonjun's cheeks flare up in a stubborn blush. his stomach did small leaps trying to catch up with the way his heart drummed so rhythmically against his chest.

"oh god....say that again angel?" he almost swooned against your touch when you laughed at his words, you reached forward to take his face in your hands , "so pretty yeonjun " .

soobin didn't think much of it when you came over and sat on top of him, you moved downwards before laying down on his chest making yourself comfortable, "you alright baby?" he questioned, his arm almost instinctively moved to wrap around your waist.

"mmm, love you binnnnn-" you sleepily yawned as you nestled yourself further into his arms. he couldn't help the way his spleen erupted into small butterflies at your words, maybe it's that way your face is buried so close to his heart.

he just hopes you can't hear how loud his heart is thumping because of you, you've got him completely wrapped around your finger. "god, i love you too " all he can manage is a whisper but when he hears your soft hums of approval in your sleep he could feel himself smile too.

beomgyu chuckled as you pressed a soft kiss to each of his cheeks , "what're doing pretty??" he questions as you carry on peppering his entire face with kisses.

you exaggerated each little mwah sound as you pulled away , "what can i not kiss my favourite boy?" you laughed before pressing a final small kiss to his lips.

though you were just being playful beomgyu felt butterflies sear through his abdomen at your touch, "no i was just asking " he mumbles , a small blush now spread over the cheeks that you'd kissed mere seconds ago, "buuuuut, i wouldn't complain if you did it again?"

hyuka almost melts when you kiss him on the forehead, he's so intently focused on his laptop that he didn't even realise how tense he was. he felt his heart jump a little in his chest at how soft your motion was, the soft butterflies that erupted in the pit of his belly made him almost shudder.

"whoa what was that?" he smiled widely, he could feel the heat rise to his cheeks when you cradle his face in your hands , "hmm, a kiss for you because you've been working so hard" you pressed another kiss to his cheek , kai reaches to grab a hold on your wrist before pointing a finger to his lips, "you missed this spot"

taehyun swears he's not easily flustered... well mostly anyways... but when you're looking at him with the most lovesick expression on your face he can't help but blush.

"stop staringggg" he groans , attempting to hide his face in his hands as if that would do something to hide the effect you had on him, "you're so cute taehyuuuuuun" you said with a smile, he simply buried his face into the crook of your neck trying to cover up his blush. the butterflies that coursed through his belly had no mercy, you drove him absolute crazy but in the absolute best way possible.

✰ KDRAMA CHARACTERS ID MAKE UP TO GIVE TO TXT MEMBERS IN TRUE BEAUTY! even though ive never watched the kdrama and hate the webtoon with every inch of my being.

𖥻 ִ ۫ ּ ﹗🩰 true beauty fans feel free to send me hate but you won't change my opinion.

YEONJUN: main character's savior aka the cameo 'almost' secondary second lead that appears mid-way into the drama after the main characters have always already confessed to each other and the second male lead has been casted aside BUT right now the main leads are having problems so in comes: choi yeonjun! for like either two episodes or two scenes, nothing in between.

probably someone huge in the industry who meets the main character in some make up room, while saving them from the other bully make up artist. shows too much interest despite not giving any attention but they are like, " who is she who does not give a fuck about me?" but with a nice guy smirk while showing off side profile and his nose bridge.

BOTTOM LINE, does not get the girl but ends in a good note where he is shown giving a shy smile in the camera and leaving probably definitely) gets casted as a male lead almost immediately after the show finished airing.

SOOBIN: is like those lowly assistant pd in the show where the main characters works as a makeup artist. sees the main character crying under the stairs, contemplates whether he should go or not to console but then he gets yelled at to get his ass moving. even ends up forgetting he saw any girl crying or whatever his life is already as hard as it is.

ALSO wears very thick black glasses, like the ones he does irl.

Is shown shamelessly clapping at the end of the drama when the main character accepts herself as if he did not just ignore the poor girl when she was crying all alone.

BEOMGYU: main character's useless, and very annoying date to a double date that main character gets roped in while she's at school. absolutely nuisance, can't sit properly in his chair, talks smack about the main character to her face because he's an insensitive teenage boy who wants the world to work on his whim. makes remarks like he can play "connect the dot" on her face with the acne while sipping loudly and obnoxiously from his straw.

EXCLUSIVELY wears a hoodie over his school uniform and has the most punchable face, we see him again when the main character becomes "hot" but he doesn't remember going with her on a date and tries to flirt and get her number. doesn't get the hint when he's turned down.

GETS punched at least once before his screen time in the show ends.

TAEHYUN: that one character we don't really think is important until the end of the series but he is still not important because he gets no lines.

WORKS in that comic shop where the main characters met up and they extensively, and LOUDLY discussed their secrets. like if he wanted he could have ended the entire series in 20 minutes.

BRO has all the gossip but we only see his scenes, those camera shots between the bookshelves or on top of ladders cleaning the store.

KINDA gets a fan following after the series ends. #WeNeedToHearHisVoice!

HUENING KAI: that one token wasian character in the industry that is introduced to have never stood foot in south korea but speaks english with like 40 layers of korean accent lathered on.

BECOMES bestie with the main character and posts cringe selfies on his Instagram. literally kick-starts the main character's career from his mouth of word and star power.

LIKE this man does more for the main character than what the main lead and second lead has done for the poor girl also gets paired up with one of the main character's best friends by the end of the series, but its only initiated. *wink* *wink*

┈─ 𖧷 we had flaws, but what does that matter when it comes to matters of the heart ? we love what we love. reason does not enter into it. CLÉO WITH TOMORROW X TOGETHER.

CHOI YEONJUN 𓄹 despite briefly meeting each other in their respective groups at award shows and the like, the two of them didn’t officially meet until they started mcing together at inkigayo in july of 2023. and much like her twin, cléo strikes him as someone who is honest upfront with a liking towards sly commentary and witty remarks. cléo finds him both funny and also never wants to see his shoe collection. two things can exist at once ! banter and pretending they have light beef on camera is a major part of their friendship.

LEE KISUNG ( @wondrelove ) 𓄹 meeting kisung actually stopped the world from spinning for a total of three seconds. the world’s axis titled even more, resulting in onscreen chaos when stray kids and txt happen to be within each other’s vicinity and stress between their respective leaders. it’s not their fault the two of them just clicked and happen to leave chaos in their wake.. ( think changbin and wooyoung. they feed off each other’s energy. only cléo would rather give up coffee for the rest of her life than willingly perform aegyo. )

CHOI SOOBIN 𓄹 she thinks he’s so sweet ): upon surprise visiting alexei on one of her rare off days, she bumped into him in one of the hallways and — despite looking exactly like one of the people he’s been working and dorming with — he thought she was a lost trainee and offered to walk her back to the waiting area. when he did eventually connect the dots ( aka, staring at the set of twins with a mix of awe and disbelief ), he apologized countless times before essentially ghosting her out of embarrassment. if anything, it made her more inclined to seek him out, and now they’re at a point where they hold a lot of respect towards each other. even if he gets embarrassed still whenever someone brings up that story.

CHOI BEOMGYU 𓄹 # 1 enemy and bane of her existence. the two of them almost squared up within fifteen minutes of meeting each other, and while no squabble happened, that doesn’t stop the two of them from throwing light shots at each other. think cléojun but much more chaotic. ( the two actually are good friends and don’t actually feel the need to square up anymore, but where’s the fun in suddenly stopping the shade ? plus it makes alexei’s nerves heighten, and if there’s one thing the two have very publicly agreed on, it’s that their love for pushing her twin’s buttons go beyond fake beef. )

KANG TAEHYUN 𓄹 she honestly thought he was the most normal one in the group .. ( and then she rethought and decided that anyone who willingly became friends with her twin had to be strange to some capacity. no offense. ) but she found out he had a cat and warmed up to him very quickly. much like soobin, they have a very respectful relationship and often send each other cat pictures when they have the time.

HUENING KAI 𓄹 she finds him so cute. so cute. adores his loud gremlin laugh and will be silly on purpose just to hear it. regularly dotes on him and haemin much to the rest of txt’s dismay—especially beomgyu’s—to which she just shrugs and sends another plushie his way. 1/2 of her sons.. what can she say ? ( kai also happens to be alexei’s favorite, so you know the beef between the twins is real. )

SONG HAEMIN ( @haezzzn ) 𓄹 if you thought her babying jeongin was bad, it’s leveled up to a thousand when it comes to haemin. like he’s actually her son. that’s her baby. she literally won’t hear otherwise. speaks of him highly to whoever will listen and will pull out pictures like a proud mother. in her eyes, he can literally do no wrong. the rest of the group could cry for all she cares. ( she does care. it’s just. that’s her son ! )

Tomorrow X Together are rebels with a cause in first-look photos for Minisode 3: Tomorrow

From rebellious rockers to fairytale princes, there’s no concept that Tomorrow X Together can’t pull off.

The K-Pop group (pronounced ‘Tomorrow By Together,’ or TXT for short) is officially back with its sixth mini-album Minisode 3: Tomorrow, and to celebrate, Entertainment Weekly is exclusively revealing five never-before-seen concept photos that highlight Soobin, Huening Kai, Taehyun, Beomgyu, and Yeonjun’s versatile style.

The snapshots are part of the group’s "Ethereal" and "Romantic" photo concepts for the album, each of which, Taehyun tells EW, “distinctly encompasses a unique story and emotion that we wanted to deliver visually through Minisode 3: Tomorrow.”

They’re also completely different from one another aesthetically. The "Romantic" photoshoot draws upon Snow White-inspired imagery with the quintet's dreamy outfits, while their "Ethereal" snapshots turn TXT into modern-day rock stars — complete with their own winged guitars, amps, and big rig. Minisode 3: Tomorrow's final two concepts — "Light" and "Promise" — further expand upon the group's artistry as they're seen outfitted in ballet slippers, angel wings, and crowns.

“We wanted to [experiment] with a diverse range of fashion styles,” Yeonjun says. “I think, at this point in time, one of our greatest strengths as a band is our versatility, not only in music and performances but also in aesthetics, which we always aim to absorb and make our own.”

And yes, in case you were wondering, those winged guitars were seriously hefty. “During the 'Ethereal' version concept shoot, I was surprised by the weight of the guitar!” Beomgyu recalls. “It was quite cold on set, and I thought it was so cute how we would huddle around the heater during breaks, which added a heartwarming touch to the experience.”

TXT fans, called MOA (short for 'moments of alwaysness'), will also spot that the concepts directly relate to the group's past albums. “The props like the truck and guitars are reminiscent of our previous releases ‘0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)’ and ‘LO$ER=LO♡ER,’” Taehyun says. “I hope MOA enjoy the throwback!”

That connection can also be heard on Minisode 3: Tomorrow. Leader Soobin says the group is “connecting the dots from our previous releases" with the record, especially on their title track, “Deja Vu.” He adds, "Including lyrics such as ‘I ran away countless times,’ and ‘be my eternity,’ from ‘Run Away’ [from their 2019 album The Dream Chapter: Magic] added a nostalgic touch that I think our fans will enjoy rediscovering."

While TXT is honoring its past, the album still has its own story to tell. One of EW’s concept photos (below) features the group sitting on a truck that reads, “We made a promise when we were young. That’s the reason I have to live for tomorrow.”

“The phrase hints at the underlying story of Minisode 3: Tomorrow,” Soobin explains. “It means that we will remember our past promises and embark on a journey to find 'you' to charge forward and face a hopeful 'tomorrow' together.”

Beomgyu describes the seven-track album as a “treasure trove of diverse sounds” that “represent the stories of today's generation.” Throughout their careers, TXT has never been afraid of openly and honestly discussing the physical and mental hardships that come with adolescence and, now, young adulthood — the 23-year-old’s favorite track on the album, “Quarter Life,” is actually about navigating a quarter-life crisis.

“Taehyun, Huening Kai, and I participated in the lyric writing to express the inner thoughts that we have at this point in our lives,” Beomgyu says about the song. “I love the track's mood and melody, too!”

In fact, four of Minisode 3: Tomorrow's tracks were penned in part by the members of TXT. Yeonjun — who co-wrote “I’ll See You There Tomorrow,” “The Killa (I Belong To You),” and “Miracle” — says that the album’s lyrics “have greater depth and uniqueness” this time around because they’re framed through the members' worldview.

“We have collectively been improving in our lyric writing, and I think it shines through in this album,” he says. “As we aim to give voice to the common experiences of our generation, we tried to focus on applying our own stories in the lyrics.”

And, just like in their "Ethereal" concept photos, TXT will soon find themselves hopping aboard a tour bus and hitting the road when their upcoming Act: Promise tour kicks off stateside next month. The 11-date concert series will see the members perform across the country, including two nights at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

“We are visiting even more cities across the U.S. this time around, so I'm thrilled to meet and interact with more MOA!” Huening Kai says. “Our fans will be able to see some brand new performances of tracks from our new album, so I hope they can look forward to it. Just like our album's opener, ‘I'll See You There.’”

warnings/tw: mentions of underage drinking and alcohol, police, cursing, mentions of drunk driving (and someone’s death bcus of it)

“take this!!” the water shooting out from the nozzle of the water gun glimmered in the sun, some of it partially entering jisoo’s mouth, which resulted in Karina being tackled into the water. You sat on land, observing the scene before you. upbeat music played while young adults and high schoolers littered in the lake’s water, on the benches, and some on flamboyant donut shaped and polka dotted pool floats. you took a break from residing in the water and resorted to sitting in the sun, the water droplets on your body quickly drying up with the blazing heat. the watermelon you chewed on tasted sweeter than ever and your feet felt nice buried in the sand. “y/n stop being a bore! It feels nice in here!” jisoo yelled at you from in the water. you rolled your eyes at her calling you a bore. “after I’m done!” you showed her the half eaten piece of watermelon in your hand. “ahhh!” a powerful stream of water hit the back of your head. ‘Who the hell-‘ you immediately recognized the sound of laughter, slowly turning around to be met with beomgyu bending over in laughter, water gun in hand. “ha ha ha. Very funny beomgyu.” You said sarcastically with a deadpan expression. Soobin stood beside him trying to hide the smile threatening to show on his face. ‘That means yeonjun’s here then.’ Too occupied with the realization—because you were waiting to see him —you tried to discreetly glance around to locate him, still facing beomgyu. your eyes caught the sight of yeonjun approaching, with Luna by his side. They smiled together and waved at their group of friends, exchanging greetings. beomgyu frowned at your lack of attention to him. “ughh you fucker!” You felt another stream of water hit your face and decided you had enough of beomgyu. You grabbed at his leg in front of you and tugged at it, hoping to make him fall onto the floor with you. yeonjun looked over from chatting with his friends and saw you trying to perform a WWE move on beomgyus leg while he begged for soobins help. He let out a small chuckle. ‘cute’ he thought and dismissed himself from his friends. he walked over to soobin and wrapped an arm around him, laughing together at the mundane sight in front of them. Too much in rage over beomgyus action and still getting him to surrender to you, you had barely noticed yeonjun standing in front of you. “y-yeonjun.” You had froze in place, hands still gripping onto beomgyus long mop of a hair. you mentally facepalmed yourself at the stutter of his name that you let out. “hi y/n” he had simply replied, pretty smirk on his lips. You had pushed beomgyu off of you when yeonjun offered his hand for you to stand up. You meekly grabbed it, muttering a small thanks. beomgyu still laid on the sand dramatically, acting as if he got shot. “So when yeonjun comes around you wanna act all different huh” he scoffs and rolls his eyes. You glare at him and before you can retort your three friends approach. “Hey guys! How’s it going?” Jisoo asks. ✬ how you got into this current situation was something you imagined to never happen. “wahhh!” Karina’s scream could be heard after jumping off the cliff into the water below, followed by a splash.

“Soooo…” you, kai and yeonjun look over to beomgyu tapping his foot with his arms crossed. “ladies first.” He gestures to the water below with a grand smile. “shut up beomgyu stop being a wuss and jump already.” You say with playful hostility. Kai and yeonjun agree with nods and ‘yeahs.’ “wuss?! Me?!” He bends over laughing, a hand to slap at his knee. “The three of you should look at yourselves!” It was like telepathy the way the three of you on the receiving end of beomgyu’s banter knew what to do. A short of exchange of eye contact and a consensual feeling of being done with beomgyu threw the three of you into action. Yeonjun was the closest to him and the first to take hold of his arms, kai also aided in grabbing hold of him and dragging him off the ledge—of course with the loud protesting screams and words of beomgyu. You were the icing on the cake when you had given the final push to beomgyu’s back. “bastardssss!” The figure of beomgyu descending along with a loud splash had the three of you evilily chuckling. kai was too engrossed in laughter near the ledge, it had surprised even you when yeonjun had suddenly pushed him off. “hyung!-“ kai yelled in betrayal. you could hear beomgyus loud laughter from below more than anything else. Along with a quite “serves you right.” you had taken a few steps back, a hand over your mouth in shock, amusement and horror. You just hoped yeonjun was kind enough to not push you off like the two others. “please… spare me.” You weakly held two hands out in front of yourself for defense. yeonjun laughed at your playful actions. you couldn’t help but the notice the way his bare torso flexed at the action. The way his hair was attractively slicked back from getting wet earlier and the way his skin shone in the sun with the layer of sunscreen, also the moles on his body— oh, and the way he held out his right hand to you accompanied with a small smile and nudge of his head towards the water. “together?” He was asking to jump with you. you slowly nodded and put your hand in his warm ones. The two of you took a few steps back to get ready to run for it.

“I’m saving you once again y/n”

you scoff and roll your eyes at his words. “more like I’ve been forced into this.”

“you know you love your knight in shining armor.” he says matter-of-factly with a smirk tugging at his lips.

“I’d love it if my knight in shining armor could jump off this damn cliff already.” you shut him up and he lets out a chuckle in response. “1….2….3!” your shouts of excitement mixed together and your hands stayed connected even once reaching the water. Yeonjun had flicked his head up from the water with an attractive comb of his hair to the back. The water droplets cascading down the sharp features on his face had you mesmerized. but the best part was the wide smile he gave you while looking directly into his eyes. Damn, you were down bad. ✬ how you got into another situation YET again, was something you also imagined to never happen. “Cops! Run!” A random dudes voice was heard yelling. Underage drinking, smoking, and cliff diving were things nobody wanted on their records. A collection of ‘oh shits’ and other hasty words surrounded you. luckily you were on shore already and easily grabbed your bag and belongings. The problem was that your friends and also your ride to escape was nowhere in sight. You spotted your friends in a group together in a distance and planned to run to them. “y/n.” You felt someone grab your arm, causing you to spin around to see yeonjun. He also spotted your friends in the distance. “Come with me.” you took a quick glance back at your friends who only seemed to be moving further in the distance. you gave yeonjun a nod at the offer and let him drag you to wherever his car was. Tons of other young people your age scrambled around to collect their things and leave the site. once you reached his parked car he had opened the passenger door for you. Before you could reach to put on your seat belt, his figure hovered over yours, long arms easily putting your seat belt on for you. You locked eyes with him and muttered a ‘thanks’, still stunned at the unexpected action. He shut your door before jogging his way over to the drivers seat. after the rush the two of you calmly drove along into the town again. "cute plushly" you referred to the small plushy of a cat hung from the rearview mirror. "thanks. it was a gift." he looks over at you for a second. you remain quiet for a bit not knowing what to say.

"you can play some music if you want." your gaze flew over to the stereo. "can i look through your cd's?" you ask after seeing one in his cupholder. "anything for you babe." he opens the center console in his black tank top. you give him a disgusted look at the nickname which causes him to smile at the road. "sure, yeonjun." you say his name with emphasis and roll your eyes playfully. you look through the stack of CDs he stashed away. some labelled with only numbers such as CD #01 or categorized by artists such as "bees gees and the smiths" on others. you inferred that yeonjun was definitely the type of person to not even hesitate on how to fill 90 minutes of a CD--just like the other many things he was confident in. a clear cased CD sported with colorful jewels labelled "for YJ <3" caught your attention. you thought it was from a younger sibling or relative because of the child-like writing and decorations. you mindlessly put the CD into the stereo and immediately a familiar tune starts playing, 'kiss me' by sixpence none the richer. you lightly gasp to yourself, "i love this song! didn't take you as the type to listen to it." you look over to tease at yeonjun. he just looked forward with an unreadable expression, right arm gripping on the steering wheel tightly. it was only a moment after he looked over at you with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. "i don't." he plainly says. "can you play a different CD?" he looks back at the road. "oh... sorry." you look away baffled by the sudden change in atmosphere. 'it's just a song' you think to yourself, wondering why he had to get so offended. you changed the CD to a random one you picked up inside the center console. a few minutes pass and you sit awkwardly in the passenger seat of yeonjuns car, especially after remembering that luna had just sat here hours prior, to which was mentioned in a simple conversation when yeonjun had just arrived to the lake. "where did you want me to drop you off?" yeonjun asks as you begin to enter the town. he notices you've been biting at your bottom lip for a while already. "I'm going to karinas house. turn left at the next light." ✬ you arrive at karinas house and grab your bag at the bottom of your feet. yeonjun is already at your side of the car and opening the door for you. the atmosphere between the two of you had significantly gotten better after 'how deep is your love' came on in the car and the both of you sang the lyrics together. you discovered he also enjoyed the song and bee gees in general. you stepped out and thanked him. "soo..." the two of you stood facing each other. "i'll see you when I see you?" you ask him expectantly. "you can see me whenever you want, I'm your knight in shining armor remember?" he stands up straight taking off his leaning arm from his car and smugly crosses his arms with a cocky tilt of his head. "my knight in shining armor doesn't even let me play the songs I want." you dramatically sigh and shake your head, looking to the ground in disappointment. he laughs at your attack before saying "just call me whenever you want to see your handsome knight." with a pretty smirk. “but I don’t have your number.” yeonjun reaches behind you, swiftly pulling out your flip phone that was tucked into the back pocket of your denim shorts. He flips it open, quickly pressing the buttons of your phone, the sounds creating a short melody. “Now you do.” He satisfyingly flips it close and slides it back into ur pocket. “Call me” he gestures with his hand while taking a few steps backward. that signature smirk tugging at his lips. he turns around and speeds off in his car. oh how you wish you could wipe that audacious little smirk off his pretty pair of lips. ✬

"y/n!" your three friends immediately crowd around you in worry. "damn we thought you got arrested or something" jisoo mentions.

"who dropped you off?" karina asks.

"yeonjun." you try to say as nonchalantly as possible but of course your friends are hooting and hollering and making a big deal out of it.

"that fiend! omg did he touch you?" jisoo asks in horror and grabs you by your shoulders to inspect you. the other two girls also let out horrified gasps in a chain reaction. Of course, no matter how attractive he was they couldn’t forget his reputation.

"of course not! he's actually really chill and nice..." you feel a bit embarrassed defending the trademark fuckboy yeonjun.

"yeah they all are before they get into your pants!" ellie yells out.

"can we please go sit down first?!" you yell back at the girls who had you cornered against the front door.

eventually the the four of you make yourselves comfy on the couch with a few snacks and beverages, you catching up jisoo and karina about your previous experience with him at the party and then explaining the situation that happened in the car.

"yeonjun's never actually been exclusive with a girl before." karina mentions. "and Luna's initials definitely aren't HN."

"ooooh...." ellie gasps into her hand with wide eyes. "a secret ex maybe?" her eyebrows quirk up.

"wait a minute, didn't he have that one best friend freshman year? the one every girl would hate on because they were super close." jisoo tries to recall.

"that's right!" a light bulb goes off in karinas head while she points towards jisoo. "i think her name was hanni? or hanna? that's luna's sister that passed away."

"no way." you're shocked at the connection. "the drunk driving victim from our freshman year? holy shit..." you didn't know the victim personally because they didn't go to your school and you definitely didn't know their relation to yeonjun.

REQ . . hi! can u write a drabble abt how idol!txt is dating idol!reader but has to hide it, and at a awards show, reader wins an award and when idol!reader’s group goes up, txt member can’t help but stare at reader while they’re walking up (fans notice). the next day there were many many edits abt it and both companies had to reveal the relationship :P

he thought nothing of this moment (bc he really has no idea how much he looks at you all longingly) until the next morning when he opens twitter or looks at the news

and then his heart STOPS bc oh no oh no

his first thought is of you (of course)

he’s so worried that he might have just ruined your career or your reputation

he doesn’t want this to affect you negatively

calls you mid freak out and apologizes like a million times for being so obvious

and you have to calm him down and make sure that he knows you don’t blame him and that in a way this news is kind of a relief

to both of your surprise, your companies release a statement confirming your relationship and it actually goes over really well with most of the fans

everyone thinks you guys are the cutest <3

SOOBIN

when the video of soobin staring at you all starry eyed and smiling as you go up to receive your award with your group goes viral, the fans are split 50/50 with their reactions

some feel so jealous and start saying lots of mean things about both of you

but a lot of others just think it’s the cutest thing to ever happen and love the idea of you guys dating (there are lots of edits of this moment and other tiny ones y’all have together on other award shows)

soobin practically starts hyperventilating when he sees that you guys are trending on twitter

he can’t stop thinking about the company and that they might ask him to break up with you

but he would also be the happiest when you finally don’t have to hide your relationship anymore. he would post about you ALL. THE TIME. he loves being able to talk about you.

BEOMGYU

it’s so beomgyu to just completely stare at you without even realizing what he’s doing.

but to be honest he doesn’t feel that bad about it when people start connecting the dots after that clip goes viral.

being under a dating ban and having to constantly be so secretive had been making his skin crawl for months.

he HATES hiding you, almost more than soobin does.

so he would be like a rock for you during these stressful times, because while he almost hopes that this does reveal your relationship, he knows that it might end your career.

so he feels really guilty and does everything he can to comfort you.

little did you know that everyone and their mother already loves you. your company knows that your group wouldn’t survive (or do nearly as well) without you (plus your members would hate to promote with a member missing) so they release a statement without punishing you.

and to your surprise, everyone is happy for the two of you! the response is similar to when it was revealed that exo’s kai and black pink’s jennie were dating. most people ship it!

TAEHYUN

taehyun is normally so good at pretending not to notice you that he’s actually shocked when he watches the clip back on instagram the next day. he can’t believe he looked at you like that.

“is that how i look at them? seriously?”

all of the other members, immediately and while rolling their eyes: “yes! except sometimes you look even more gooey-eyed.”

apparently taehyun is not nearly as slick as he thought he was with his quick glances.

strangely, when the news hit the internet it wasn’t MOAs who were making problems. taehyun stans (the sanest of us all, let’s be real) actually handled the news amazingly and were really happy for their favorite idol <3

but your fans? your fans were upset. a lot of them posted about unstanning you and your group and so it was a really dark time for you.

fortunately, you and taehyun got through it and eventually your relationship became old news on the kpop circuit, letting you finally date in peace.

HUENINGKAI

as much as kai acts like a love sick golden retriever when he’s alone with you, he’s actually really good at hiding his emotions when he needs to.

exhibit A: at award shows or on variety shows

unfortunately, on that night you were wearing the most attractive outfit he had ever seen you wear and he really couldn’t have controlled his slack jawed stare of awe if he tried.

the clip was everywhere within hours

your companies were furious, but bighit eventually got over it enough to post a statement admitting that you guys were in fact a couple.

and while you and kai did have several consecutive panic attacks after this news was dropped, you will be relieved to know that netizens ate your dating reveal up.

everyone loves kai and everyone loves you, so it seemed only natural that you’d be together.

you got lots of comments about how you guys have “perfect chemistry” or how you’ve “always reminded them of kai.”

of course, now people ask you about him all the time, which always makes you get flustered. and does kai save some of the edits people make of these moments? maybe he does.

Idol Flirting With s/o — TXT x Idol!Reader

♡ Choi Soobin ♡

— Now let's say you two are at some awards show you are just hanging out with your group and suddenly some idol walked up to you and started making conversation

— Soobin was obviously being cautious of everything, how they acted towards you and how you reacted towards them knowing how uncomfortable you could be in these situations

— The moment he saw you uncomfortable/the moment he noticed your fidgeting he did what he could to walk over to you and try to drag you away

— (By this time you basically lost your members them being dragged away by the current of people)

— He walked up to you acted as if he just randomly saw you and decided to make conversation with you taking your attention away from the other idol and while he was giving you heart eyes he sent glares to the idol still standing beside you

— Since he's the leader he accidentally dragged the rest of his group with him making them all laugh and tease him about his jealousy, he doesn't mind as long as you're comfortable and ended up dragging you to your own group

— Yeonjun wasn't surprised you attracted attention from other groups, he wasn't surprised when you got uncomfortable with all the attention either

— He definitely used being signed under the same company as an excuse to drag you away

— He wasn't mad as much as he was annoyed at the idol, he gets it they have a crush on you but couldn't they see how uncomfortable you were just standing beside them?

— Since he didn't want to make you even more uncomfortable he just walked up to you and ended up taking your arm in his hold dragging you away to be near his members which made you so much more comfortable

— And due to the many people around both of your groups, he wasn't sure how to approach you but once he got the courage he walked up to you and started talking nonstop while he held your hand now your relationship wasn't public so that caused a lot of people to question your relationship (while also making the other idol leave)

♡ Kang Taehyun ♡

— Taehyun my boy is intimidating from a glance, away if he saw some idol walk up to you making you uncomfortable the glares he would send their way-

— And of course, the idol noticed and ran away as quickly as possible because Taehyun can be pretty scary sometimes

— After the idol left Taehyun walked up to you and hugged you which at that point made you connect the dots

— Taehyun was jealous and angry and now only needs your company

♡ Huening Kai ♡

— Hyuka hyuka hyuka (I love this man he's so cute and for what-)

— Huening Kai had absolutely no idea on how to approach you he was so lost he almost ended dragging Yeonjun with him to say hi to you-

— When he saw an idol talking to you and flirting with you he immediately stopped in his tracks and froze what he did was go back to his group and try getting your attention from afar waving his hands and what not

— Surprisingly it worked (since you were looking for a way to escape the situation) you stopped the conversation and walked over to Huening Kai and the rest of TXT you were welcomed with opened arms Huening Kai not letting you go

My top 15 kpop albums of 2021

This year I´ve been so bad at keeping up with this blog but I want to wrap up the year on a good note so I'll be counting down my favorite korean music and dramas of 2021. I'll begin with my must listen albums of the year!

15. 10 cm- The 3rd EP. 10 cm is a k-indie duo. I first discovered them when they sang an OST for Goblin, since then I listen to their songs regularly. This year they released a five song album that is sentimental and just a great listen. Kwon Jung Yeol's vocals are exceptional as usual. My favorite song is I will do my best.

14. KAI- Peaches. After Mmmh I had great expectations for Kai's second album. However I wasn't a fan of the title song although it has grown a little on me since. I did love the rest of the album tho. I love how weird Vanilla is. My favorite is To be honest, a bright r&b song with a fun beat.

13. Penomeco-Dry Flower. Penomeco is such a joy to listen to and his first full album was no exception. The title JAJA has an interesting beat with Penomeco sing-rapping style. The album features collabs with Verbal Jint, sogumm, Kid Milli and Hoody. Actually Pt. 2 is probably my favorite song but it really is a great no skip album.

12. TXT- The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE. Honestly the first couple TXT albums were not my thing but this one I really enjoyed. Anti-romantic is hands down the best one for me but I also enjoyed the title LO$ER=LO❤ER. 0X1=LOVESONG (I know I love you) featuring Seori and Magic are also highlights. It's just full of great dance pop.

11. EXO- Don't fight the feeling. It pains me to say it but even if I loved every single song in this album I wasn't obsessed with them which is why, in good conscience I couldn't rank it higher. As usual with EXO, even if I miss Suho and Chen, the vocals are crazy good. I especially enjoyed listening to D.O. and Lay again on an EXO album. Just like the title song, the album is such a feel good vibe that really brightens up your day. Paradise is my favorite but Just as usual is so sweet.

10. Aespa-Savage. Aespa's first mini album is definitely the stamp of an SM album: great vocals and impressive bsides. Savage is such a strong song and so catchy. It's a journey in itself. However I'll make you cry has an amazing beat and high notes that will impress you. YEPPI YEPPI is just fun and Lucid dream is my favorite.

9. HEIZE- HAPPEN. If you haven't checked out the MV for Happen you really should because it's filmed like a drama and it stars Song Joon Ki. Ever since Heize appeared in the korean music scene seems like she can do no wrong. This album is another hit for me. Its eight songs are on point and has features by Gary, Changmo, Kim Feel and Ahn Ye Eun. It's almost never the case but the title is my favorite song of the album however Flu and Destiny, it's just a tiny dot are stand outs.

8. Kang Seung Yoon-Page. Saying this album was a long time coming is an understatement. Ever since I got into WINNER I started to wait -not so patiently- for Seung Yoon's album. He has an extraordinary voice and he's actually a great songwriter so I knew it would be great. I do wish he had picked another title, not because IYAH isn't amazing because it is, but because I think his album would have done better on the charts with another title but I get he needed to show his story through IYAH. Sweet love songs, sad ballads and bright fun songs, there's nothing this album is missing. And obviously it's full of great vocals! WE NEED LOVE and BETTER featuring MINO are my favorite of the album.

7. Mino- To infinity. Just like with Seungyoon, I wish Mino would have chosen another title for this album because even if I like how playful TANG!♡ is, I would have liked to see other songs as the title. You definitely won't be skipping a song if you listen to it! Mino as always shows us witty lyrics with quirky beats. My favorite is LANGUAGE featuring Bobby. Every time these two collab is definitely fire. LOVE IN DA CAR and LOSING U are also highlights.

6. D.O.-Empathy. EXO's Kyungsoo finally made his formal debut with his first mini album. Sadly he didn't promote it but it's full of great easy listening songs. It's difficult to pick a favorite vocalist in EXO but Kyungsoo is mine. I love his voice the most in r&b tracks but his voice is so full of character that anything he sings ends up being outstanding. On top of that, he recorded a song in spanish and since I'm Mexican that's a big deal. Si fueras mía is definitely great but I have to say I was obsessed with I'm gonna love you featuring Wonstain and My Love. Rose the title is so bright and cute with an acoustic vibe that'll remind you of Jason Mraz. The MV is really funny.

5. Taemin-Advice. For me, 2020 was the year I got obsessed with Taemin and a huge part of that was both albums he released. This year, just before enlisting, he released a 5 song mini album. And there's just something about Taemin's songs. Last year he was all about dance pop and this year his album is more eclectic. You have r&b ballad, pop, and even a bit of hip hop vibes with his title song. Advice really was a strong way to go with a crazy beat and a really interesting way of delievering vocals. I think the fact Advice is so powerful is why having the rest of the songs (maybe not Light) being more subdued was the right way to go. His falsetto on Strings and If I could tell you featuring Taeyeon is just outstanding.

4. Bobby-Lucky man. Bobby is such a fun artist. I would say his second album is what I was expecting of his first album. Whimsical at times and strong other times. All 13 songs are on point and he added four skits. We do get a few of the cool beats he did for his first album: my favorites are LiLaC and RaiNingG (featuring JUNE). However is his hiphop heavy songs like the title U MAD, NO TIME and Devil that I was mesmerized with.

3. B.I. -WATERFALL. The moment I heard YG had said goodbye to B.I., I knew it was a major mistake. I was sure they probably wouldn't have if the circumstances were different but his drug scandal came at the worst time for YG. This year B. I. proved how big that mistake was by releasing two albums plus a donation project making over twenty songs in just a few months. He's just crazy talented. If I'm being honest I wasn't sure I wanted a solo from him. Obviously he's a great producer but I didn't know what a full album from him would sound like and now I can see a solo album from him was overdue. Both of the albums he made are amazing but I think his first one WATERFALL is just a revelation. I don't think I even have a favorite song because I love all 12 songs.

2. Baekhyun-Bambi. According to Spotify, I listened to Privacy the most so it's safe to say it was my favorite one of the album. However Bambi is so catchy and filled with great vocals. The whole album is of course, and then there's All I Got or how I like to call it: Baekhyun's Mariah song, really the high notes are crazy on that one. This makes Baekhyun's third mini album and the last one before he enlisted and I have to say it really is one of the albums I listened to the most this year. If you like R&B this is the album for you. It kind of broke my heart he didn't have time to promote it but he really left with a bang and it made me excited for his comeback whenever that is.

1. Epik High-Epik High is here (Part 1). It's no secret Tablo, the leader of hip hop group Epik High, is an off the charts producer. This album has 10 songs even if it's under 30 minutes. Every song is a statement. When I listened to Rosario, the title featuring CL and Zico, I knew it would be on my favorite list of the year even if it was released on January. Based on a true story with Heize is also crazy good. The instrumentals, the musicality of its raps and the grand collabs of the album really makes it a must listen.

The sun is dipping behind the horizon, colors melting against sky as the car rolls along the freeway. The majority of the younger boys are asleep in the car, it is silent, and Yeonjun is stressed out.

Of course, who wouldn’t be? He almost lost his life to something that looked like it walked straight off the set of The Walking Dead. And Yeonjun has never forgotten his weapon - ever. It’s in that moment that he knows.

He has to get rid of the girl sitting in the passenger seat. Soon.

The silence is uncomfortable as he drives. Neither is speaking, and even though he isn’t looking at her, he knows she isn’t asleep.

After a few minutes of the silence ticking along with the minutes, Yeonjun feels like he is going to burst. And then, finally, she speaks.

“Listen… uh- Yanjun-”

“My name is Yeonjun.” The older boy sneers, accent thickening as he enunciates his Korean name, still annoyed. He realizes just how annoyed he always is with her.

“Right, sorry! Yeonjun.” He stays quiet, letting her go on.

“I’m really sorry for what happened back there. I may have overreacted a little bit.”

Yeonjun scoffs as she continues, “And I just want to thank you for saving my life. I really appreciate it.”

The girl sticks her hand out as if he’s not driving, and after he gives it a side glance, she retracks it.

“Maybe we can be friends, you know, work together?”

Yeonjun almost swerves off the freeway at 90 MPH.

“Here’s how this is gonna work...” He searches her eyes for a second, noticing how she sits up straighter. She replies quickly with a, “Y/N.”

“Okay, Y/N, this isn’t some fucked up stockholm syndrome situation. I didn’t tie you up and throw you in the back of my Jeep because I thought you were too precious to save, and I definitely didn’t do it because I wanted you with us. I did it because it was the only option, got it?”

The girl blinks at him.

“It was the only option, and at this point you’re just deadweight to us now, okay? We aren’t going to work together, and we sure as hell aren’t going to be friends.”

It’s silent for a lot longer this time, before Yeonjun hears the girl reply back in a whisper, “If I’m just deadweight to you, why did you save me?”

“Jun, where are we?” Soobin grumbles suddenly from the backseat, stirring a bit as he starts to wake up.

“Just about there, Soobin. Go back to sleep.” Yeonjun replies as he pulls off of I-86 and into what seems like the local college town of the area. He decides to ignore the girl’s question as he turns on the radio. Of course, it’s just the low sound of static, but it’s better than listening to her questions again.

The farther Yeonjun drives into the town, the more he starts to notice the tattered college flags hanging from the unlit street lamps, and all of the broken windows in every building they pass. As he drives with caution, Yeonjun can tell how eerily quiet it is, apart from the radio. He spots the girl looking out the window, and decides to do the same, allowing himself to survey their surroundings.

A few home style diners and restaurants dot the blocks they pass, along with small gas stations (probably empty), and a few fast food places as well. The road guides him to a gentle curve, and then he realizes that he’s going in the direction of an underpass. For some insane reason he doesn’t completely understand, the lights along the inside leading to the other side are on, and they guide him to something that is shocking for him to see. The underpass opens back up at the end in a way Yeonjun can only feel like exiting a time machine would be. The tunnel cuts off, barren and with the walking path fences on either side rusted and destroyed.

But that’s not the part Yeonjun is paying attention to.

The buildings are breathtaking. They are old stone, brick, and clearly had been worked on to keep their vintage roots. One of the buildings on the right has huge archway windows on the second floor, which the moon reflects off beautifully. The street lamps are winded with decorative mistletoe, but the ribbons attached are tattered and almost black. Yeonjun sees what used to be bars, restaurants, all different colors. Green, red, and a pretty maroon color. He’s almost sad to see all of this - to get a glimpse of the real world back in front of him.

The farther he drives, the worse it gets. The town is beautiful, and he can only imagine how beautiful it used to be in the world before.

“This is old town.” The girl says softly from the passenger seat as Yeonjun approaches a huge park, even more trees on display and decorative lamps. He almost thinks he sees a fountain before he looks back at the girl.

“What did you say?”

“Old town. Like, downtown. The original one for the city.”

“How…” Yeonjun is surprised the girl knows as his curiosity intensifies.

“I uh… I used to live here. I went to college here.” She clarifies, avoiding his gaze now.

The older boy is even more surprised than he was before. She looked old enough to be in college, but he didn’t even consider it. Someone else having a life before all of this, much like he did. He never considered it until now.

“Up ahead it’ll take you to the fairly decent houses, lots of cops and bankers used to live on this side of town, but the houses will be trashed most likely. The long road past that will take you up the mountain to the super rich houses on top. Those might have some food and supplies, but it’s more dangerous. The high school is to the right, but the college is back around the way we came. Up to you.” She nods, not speaking anymore. Yeonjun is surprised she’s even helping him, but he hadn’t thought that far ahead.

“Thank you.” He says awkwardly, turning back around the way they came. He figures the college is their best bet. More buildings to search for safety in, and all relatively close to the gas stations.

She says nothing as he makes his way back toward the college.

The drive to the campus is somehow more tense than before, and Yeonjun is grateful when they finally pull into the main parking lot, in front of a building labeled, Museum of Natural History.

“The SUB is up ahead.” The girl speaks flatly, and Yeonjun gives her a confused look.

“Student Union Building. They have an event center inside, super spacious, just incase.” She clarifies, looking at him again.

“Sorry, I just never went to college before this all happened…” He explains, finally parking the Jeep.

The parking lot extends to a walkway that goes under the second floor of the SUB, and Yeonjun finds himself parking there to keep the car hidden. It’s almost like the whole slab of the SUB’s second floor is covering the walkway for a few yards, and then connects to the neighboring Museum’s second floor too. Past the end of it all, he sees a grand cement staircase leading up to the side door of the building. It’s perfect.

He pushes the gearstick into park and finally cuts the engine, sitting silent for a few moments.

The smaller girl is still gazing out the windshield, eyes scanning along the huge quad slowly.

“Is it weird to be back here?” Yeonjun doesn’t know why he asks, but he can clearly see the girl is visibly upset as she has her hands bundled in fists.

Without answering, she unlatches her seatbelt, swings open the door, and steps into the cold. After her feet hit the ground and she slams the door closed, the rest of the boys in the back groggily come to.

“We’re here.” Yeonjun sighs, turning on the upper light and pocketing the keys, “Grab your stuff, we’re setting up camp for the night.”

And then he’s getting out of the car himself, slamming his door and heading for the trunk.

“Hyung look, there’s a giant tiger statue back there!” Kai says with excitement, motioning back through the door they just came in through.

“It’s a Bengal.” Y/N corrects the youngest boy before leading the group farther in the empty building. The inside is pitch black, but the moonlight allows Yeonjun to see their surroundings, just barely.

To their right there is a huge staircase leading to the lowest level of the building, and a long hallway filled with multiple tables and chairs, like a huge eating area. Next to the help desk in front of them, small restaurants are grouped side by side as the window parallel shines even more light on all of the walls. The girl drags them to the left, taking them toward the offices and hallway that lie ahead.

“Fuck.” She says when she finally sees the door. It is bolted shut, with wooden planks and furniture piled against it. There is no way they’re getting in.

“Plan B?” Yeonjun asks annoyingly, making the girl brush past him, feet stomping along the way.

“Shut the fuck up, will you?” She snaps as she drags them back past all the small food places, leading them toward a staircase near the side of the building. Yeonjun can’t help but make another snarky comment at her. Soobin laughs under his breath. The youngest boys look shocked.

“Doesn’t this place have elevators?”

She glares at him when he speaks again, and juts her chin to the elevator along the right wall as they walk into the stairwell, saying nothing as she climbs up the stairs.

The boys all follow her, saying nothing at their interaction.

“Hey, Y/N, do you know where we’re going now?” Soobin speaks up, his voice timid as he catches up to the angry girl.

“Yep. Clearly the elevators don’t work but the top floor is our safest bet. There are tons of big rooms where we’ll be safe in. Unless you guys wanna spend the night in the bowling alley or the movie theater.” She throws in the last options offhandedly, knowing both will just be annoying to settle down for the night.

The two youngests perk up at this though, all voicing their excitement.

“There’s really a bowling alley and a movie theater here? This place was so awesome.”

“It is awesome.” Y/N clarifies, swallowing thickly before she leads the rest of the boys up the remainder of the flights.

Once on the top floor, Yeonjun knows why the girl chose it for their spot. There are dozens of lined rooms down the hall on either of them, and huge windows that show the entire campus and more, the land extending for miles upon miles. He can even see the mountain just off campus, trees swaying in the wind.

“Here you go.” She says, finally shrugging off the backpack she was actually able to retrieve from the trunk, “Home sweet hallway.”

The largest room is to their right, which gives them a view of both doors on either side of the hallway. Yeonjun nods a bit before appointing the group to set up their own sleeping bags and spaces.

The three youngest always stick together, all chatting about whatever is on their mind as they set up their sleeping bags, and Yeonjun notices that Soobin is back to chatting with Y/N easily, saying something he can’t pick up as he starts laying out his sleeping bag as well.

It’s like that for a few minutes, all of the boys laying out their sleeping bags, whipping their blankets in the air to get it into shape before laying it on the thin material of their makeshift bed. Yeonjun honestly cannot wait to sleep. He’s so tired, he doesn’t even think much about the fact that they can’t eat dinner. He hopes they will be able to find some food tomorrow.

“Hey Jun?” Soobin asks, catching the attention of the older boy as he looks up toward him.

“Where is Y/N going to sleep?”

All eyes settle on the girl sitting criss-cross on the floor, shivering lightly with her coat draped over her shoulders. Soobin frowns at Yeonjun before motioning toward her obviously, and the older boy just sighs.

“It’s not my problem Soob-”

“She can sleep in my sleeping bag if she wants.” The younger boy offers, already looking back toward the girl again. Yeonjun feels his heart leap up into his throat. He has to try hard to not eagerly deny the fact that she very much cannot sleep with Soobin.

It’s not that Soobin is a bad guy - quite the opposite actually. And the last thing Yeonjun needs is to hear the girl giggling from Soobin’s goofy antics all night long. No, he will not have that.

“She’ll sleep with me.” Yeonjun says firmly, nodding before he kicks off his shoes and places them next to his flimsy little blanket layers on the ground.

“Not happening.” Y/N finally speaks up, glaring at Yeonjun, “I’d rather get mauled by a zombie.”

“Be my guest then, that is, if you don’t freeze first.”

Yeonjun grins sarcastically at the shivering girl, and even though she is wearing multiple layers, he knows she’lll still be freezing if she doesn’t contain enough heat to get her through the night.

“Jun.” Soobin tries to interject, but the blue-haired boy just glares at him.

“Not a debate, Soobin. Go to sleep.”

The tallest boy looks sadly at the girl, before turning on his back away from her. The rest of the boys do the same, leaving her shivering in silence.

Yeonjun doesn’t know what time it is when he feels movement from his side. His eyes snap open in fear quick enough, though, and he almost reaches for his bat next to him before a soft voice breaks through the darkness.

“Jesus, relax. It’s just me.”

The girl’s teeth are chattering as she crawls under the layers of blankets Yeonjun has above his body, and he doesn’t say anything as the side of her body is suddenly flush against his.

“Thought you’d rather be mauled to death.” He rasps, still half asleep as he nuzzles further into the blanket.

“Shut up, will you?” The girl responds, voice still low so she doesn’t wake the others.

It is quiet for a while, both of them just breathing together. Yeonjun doesn’t know if it’s awkward, but he’s too tired to care. After driving for so long, it starts to take its toll.

“Yeonjun?” The girl says softly, causing the older boy to glance over at her. She sighs before speaking again, “Who were you before all of this?”

The boy blinks at her, mind reeling before he stares up at the tiled ceiling again.

Does he want to do this? Does he really want to open up to the girl who he can’t help but fight with every single second?

He doesn’t have much of a choice as he opens his mouth, and his exhausted body starts speaking honestly.

“I lived in Korea.” He explains, but he doesn’t know why she cares enough to ask. He doesn’t know why he cares enough to explain. He wouldn’t have asked about her, but it’s clear she had other intentions.

“I worked for a company called Big Hit. It’s like a company that trains and creates Idols. Kind of like celebrity performers.”

The girl listens intently to his words, not speaking as he goes on.

“This was our first debut, coming to America. I always dreamed about coming back. I studied in California for a few years when I was younger, but it was always my dream to come back. You know you’ve made it when you make it in America.”

Yeonjun shifts to his side to get more comfortable, and suddenly realizes how close they actually are. He can feel the girl’s breath across his cheeks, and he has to keep himself from pulling away with anxiety.

“I- um… the rest of the boys were in a group with me. We were all idols. But when the virus hit, we got stranded here. Our managers died in a car accident, and we were lucky to make it out alive. We all just want to go back home.”

He doesn’t know why, but somehow he can’t stop. Maybe it’s the way she’s looking at him, listening, or because he hasn’t talked to anyone like this in a long time.

“I loved dancing. I trained as an Idol for years, but it was all worth it because I loved it. Before all of this, I studied really hard, and I enjoyed hip hop the most. It was my favorite to dance to. Just being able to move my body freely to the music, I loved every second of it.”

Yeonjun stops now, not really knowing what else to say. He feels embarrassed, a bit flustered, and he tries to take the attention off of him as he asks, “Who were you before all of this, Y/N?”

The girl is still, eyes glossed over as she bites her lip a bit. Yeonjun can see it’s hard for her to talk about it, but she still does. She still opens up to him, because he did to her.

“I was… I was a student. I worked my ass off at community college to come here, and I got scholarships and grants just to be able to live here on my own. I had a rough time in high school, but college was supposed to change everything for me. I was living alone, trying to make friends, and just attempting to start my life. I came from a small town, where people get trapped like poison. No one comes out of my hometown unless they’re willing to risk everything for it.”

Yeonjun can feel his heart beating steadily against his ribcage as the girl speaks, and he can’t help but feel understood by her. He takes a deep breath to stomp the feeling down.

“I remember I was so excited to finally start. I was studying marketing and creative writing. I loved writing so much, I was so excited to be able to do what I loved. It may not seem like much, this town, but it’s all I had. It was the only chance I had at becoming someone else - someone better.”

She looks over at Yeonjun suddenly, and is surprised when he nods for her to continue.

“I grew up in this state my whole life, and my only goal was to leave. All I ever wanted was to leave.”

The smaller girl can’t help but get choked up, taking a few deep breaths to calm herself down. Yeonjun easily slides the blanket farther over her shoulder, hoping the softness will comfort her a bit.

It takes a bit for her to finish, but once she does, Yeonjun knows she is exhausted.

“So that was it. I made it here, and then the virus stole it all from me. My education, my family. All the hope I had. Just… gone.” She says, eyes now closed as she lies next to him. He doesn’t know what to say, and he truly doesn’t think anything he can say will make her feel any better.

“You should rest.” He whispers to her, hand moving up before he realizes what he’s doing.

Before Yeonjun knows it, he’s wrapping his arm halfway across the girl, holding across her chest in a hug, his hand holding onto her right shoulder gently.

He slightly expects her to swear at him. He also expects her to punch him in the face.

She does neither.

Instead, her breathing evens out, and she falls asleep like that. With her body finally warm next to Yeonjun’s, and a single tear slipping down the side of her cheek.

Yeonjun allows himself to fall into a deep slumber soon after.

After all, tomorrow, they have to get a move on.
