River is portrayed by actress Summer Glau in the 2002 TV series Firefly and the 2005 film Serenity. In 2005, Summer Glau won the SFX magazine award for Best Actress for her role as River in Serenity. Glau later won a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress, again for her role as River in Serenity in May 2006. Glau was also runner up for Best Actress/Movie in the SyFy Genre Awards for 2006. Joss Whedon selected Summer Glau for the role after having previously worked with her on another of his shows, Angel. River Tam was Glau's first major role. ooh, I did imagine that Faith will become your BTVS fave haha. Interested to read your thoughts on her and her relationship with Buffy, tbh.

I was real confused what ATS was at first haha. I'm still deciding on whether I wanna watch Angel but I guess I'll see when I get there. Thank you so much for the guide!! I was hoping something like that would exist. Hearing that there's Faith ch development in there does make it more appealing.

I think I have a type and that type is predictable haha so even with the very little I know of Faith it's a safe bet to say she'll be my fave. But again trying not to go into it with bias. For example, I'm glad I can enjoy Willow for the character she is instead of just anticipating the lesbian storyline I know is coming and liking her for that. (I'd say, broadly, that Willow is my current fav btw.)

That said I can almost guarantee I'll have lots to say about the Buffy and Faith dynamic so stick around and find out Anon 😌 I'm currently working my way through eps quite quickly so we'll see when that is.

I'm curious, are there any fan favourite or fan looked-down-upon eps of season 1? I understand that season 1 is a bit of a lost child in the Buffy fandom but now that I've seen it all I wonder how the fandom views it, if you can tell me. Or just tell me your highlights and lowlights of s1!
