The main character is a Filipina-Jewish girl, freshly moved across the country. The theme trying to find familiarity in a foreign environment, while being told in a lighthearted way, is super important to me!

Just realized that when Paimon was revealed to be an owl in Helluva Boss, many people were complaining that the real Paimon is despicted as a middle eastern man riding a camel.

Then the episode comes, and it turns out the one voicing Paimon is the voice actor of one of the, if not THE most iconic villanous middle eastern man in animation history, Jafar from Aladdin.

Jafar

A Royal Vizier of the Kingdom Agrabah, Jafar positioned himself as the Sultan's most trusted and loyal advisor. In truth, however, the treacherous Jafar hated the Sultan and plotted to depose him and take his power for himself. To achieve this goal, Jafar sought out the fabled magical lamp containing an all-powerful Genie. He hoped to use the Genie as his pawn and tool of conquest. Fortunately, the lamp fell into the hands of the young Aladdin and he and the Genie foiled Jafar’s sinister plans.
