Rating band names based on their accuracy:
(I keep updating this list so check back later)
The Beatles: 3/10. None of these people are beetles, they’re just a bunch of fruity guys from Liverpool with matching haircuts
(Edit: changed from 0/10 to 3/10 because John Lennon beat his wife)
Pink Floyd: 4/10. There is not a single person named Floyd in the band, but some of the members do arguably look kinda pink
Nirvana: 10/10. Getting high and listening to Nirvana is roughly what I imagine actual nirvana to be like
Foo Fighters: either 0/10 or 10/10. I have never seen foo in real life so either they’re pretending to fight a problem that doesn’t exist or they’re doing an absolutely fantastic job of fighting it
The Eagles: 0/10. Same as the Beatles, there is not a single eagle in this band. The name is misleading and we have all been lied to
Queen: 6/10. Partial points for Freddie Mercury
Led Zeppelin: 0/10. I don’t think any of these guys have ever even seen a zeppelin, let alone one made of lead. A lead balloon would crash faster than my hopes and dreams
The Rolling Stones: 3/10. There is not a single stone in this band. Some points added because I’m pretty sure they rolled quite a few
U2: 0/10. Despite what the name says, I am not a member of this band
Metallica: 9/10. Naming a metal band “Metallica” is like naming your dog “doggy”
Red Hot Chili Peppers: 2/10. These guys are not chili peppers. They’re not even that hot, let alone red hot
Guns N’ Roses: 0/10. How the fuck could a gun or a flower play music
Backstreet Boys: ?/10. Depends entirely on their current given location
Simon and Garfunkel: 10/10. No notes
The Doors: 1/10. Jim Morrison is kinda shaped like a door tho
Chicago: 4/10. The number of people in this band does not come even remotely close to the population of Chicago. Points added because it originated in Chicago
Earth, wind, and fire: 2/10. This is even more innacurate than Chicago. Points added because wind instruments were often used
Def Leppard: 3/10. There is not a single leopard in this band. Some of the members are probably kinda deaf by now tho
The Beach Boys: ?/10. Accuracy depends entirely on location
The Black Eyed Peas: 6/10. Not sure what the hell an ‘eyed pea’ is but the black part is pretty accurate
Imagine Dragons: ?/10. Depends entirely on whether or not they’re thinking about dragons.
Cage the Elephant: 1/10. Why would you do that. Let the elephant go
Green Day: 0/10. They’re not even green
The Police: 0/10. There is not a single cop in this band
KISS: 5/10. I’m sure they probably kissed sometimes
The Monkees: 0/10. Are you fucking kidding me
We Butter the Bread with Butter: 8/10. I can’t verify this but I have no reason to suspect that they’d lie. Butter seems like the most logical thing to butter bread with
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard: 0/10. I got really excited about the concept of a lizard wizard only to be let down. My disappointment is immeasurable
They Might Be Giants: 5/10. I googled everyone in this band’s height, the tallest guy’s only 6’1 so I wouldn’t exactly consider him a giant. Then again, I can’t really argue because the claim was only that they MIGHT be giants
The Presidents of the United States of America: 2/10. None of these people are Joe Biden nor are any of them former presidents. This is incredibly misleading. I’m pretty sure “Lump” was written about my first girlfriend tho so I’ll give them a point or two
Gorillaz: 2/10 Not quite but we’re kinda close genetically so I’ll give them partial credit
The Killers: ?/10. I have no way of verifying if they’ve actually killed before but the fact that they’re not in prison tells me probably not
The Offspring: 10/10. These guys are definitely somebody’s offspring
Arctic Monkeys: 1/10. They are neither monkeys nor are they from the arctic
Thirty Seconds to Mars: 1/10. It takes WAY longer to get to mars than that
Beastie Boys: 8/10. They’re pretty beast on the guitar
Jimmy Eat World: 1/10. Slow the fuck down Jimmy, you’re biting off way more than you can chew
Hole: 9/10. One point deducted because I’m pretty sure they had more than one hole
Rage Against the Machine: 10/10. They did exactly that
Alice In Chains: 0/10. This is illegal. Let Alice go
The Band: 10/10. This could not possibly be more accurate
Nine Inch Nails: 1/10. I can’t find any good pictures of their feet but from what I can tell their fingernails definitely aren’t nine inches long
Bush: ?/10. Not quite sure about this one, felt uncomfortable asking
The Who: 2/10. I’m not dealing with this “Who’s On First” bullshit
Radiohead: 0/10. Not a single person in this band has a radio for a head
Queens of the Stone Age: 0/10. This band should be called “five random dudes from the modern era” but FRDFTMA is a bit of a mouthful
Soundgarden: 2/10. Sound does not grow in the garden
Sonic Youth: 5/10. They’re not exactly youth anymore but the sonic part checks out
Talking heads: 8/10. There’s more to the band than just a bunch of disembodied heads but the heads do tend to talk
The Cranberries: 0/10. Decent music but I only added them so that the Beatles and Freddie Mercury weren’t the only fruits on this list
The Wiggles: 8/10. They do tend to wiggle a lot
Blue Man Group: 10/10. Yep!
Weezer: 5/10. They all look like they definitely have asthma
Limp Bizkit: 3/10. While the visual image of baked goods playing the guitar is hilarious, Fred durst is not a biscuit. Points added because he probably has erectile dysfunction
Stone Temple Pilots: 0/10. None of these people are accredited as being licensed to pilot anything, much less an entire stone temple. Stone temples don’t need pilots anyways
Wasted Youth: 8/10. I guess it really kinda depends on how you frame it but yeah, they probably wasted a lot of it
Them Crooked Vultures: 3/10. These are people and not birds but Dave Grohl’s posture is kinda bad and John Paul Jones is so old that his neck kinda looks like a vulture’s so I added some points
Audioslave: 0/10. Slavery is illegal
Traveling Wilburys: 4/10. Sure, they traveled a lot but not a single one of those lying bastards was named Wilbury
D12: 6/12. There were only 6 people in this band
NWA: 10/10. I’m a little too white to safely comment on this one but I’d say they nailed it
Jet: 1/10. A real jet would be way too loud
Goldfinger: 0/10. Not a single person in this band has a finger made out of gold
No Doubt: ?/10. I can’t really be too sure how Gwen Stefani felt but I think it’s probably a safe assumption that she had some doubts
The White Stripes: 3/10. I bet if you stripped them down naked and made them stand shoulder to shoulder and squinted really hard they’d probably look more like white stripes
Screaming trees: 3/10. They scream occasionally
Garbage: 2/10. I think they’re being a little harsh on themselves, their music isn’t THAT bad
Butthole Surfers: 5/10. Not even gonna touch this one
Megadeth: 3/10. To be fair, some of the former members are dead but only a little amount of death, not mega death
Dead Kennedys: 2/10. Last I checked Kennedy was still dead but neither he nor his clones are members of this band
Cake: 0/10. The cake is a lie
Cracker: 8/10. Most of them are
Tool: 7/10. I don’t know much about their music but they sure look like tools
Counting Crows: ?/10. Is this what emo kids do instead of counting sheep? Accuracy depends on whatever bird they happen to be counting at the moment
Dave Matthews Band: 10/10. It certainly is
Oasis: 1/10. Their music is the opposite of an oasis
Blur: 2/10. They are not that fast
Barenaked Ladies: 0/10. If I wanted to be this disappointed I’d reestablish a connection with my biological father instead
Meat Puppets: 10/10. Technically, aren’t we all?
Live: 8/10. Apparently they still do live shows but I deducted some points because I’ve only ever heard their music on Spotify
ABBA: 9/10. I’m still not giving any points to Guns N’ Roses but that’s mostly out of spite
5 Finger Death Punch: 8/10 I guess it probably depends on how hard you hit them but this seems to be the usual amount of fingers to punch somebody with
All American Rejects: 9/10. They’re all rejects from America so I don’t really see any issue with this
T. Rex: 0/10. Even if any of these people WAS a T. Rex I don’t think their arms would be long enough to play their instruments
Free: 0/10. Unless you steal their music, in which case it becomes a 10/10
The Strokes: 3/10. To my knowledge, none of them have had a stroke but I still added a few points because the name was probably accurate for other reasons
The Smashing Pumpkins ?/10. Another thing I have no way of verifying but this seems like a waste of perfectly good pumpkins
Therapy?: ?/10. The hell are they asking me for? I don’t know their medical history
Twenty One Pilots. 0/10. There’s only two of them and neither is a licensed pilot
Finger Eleven: 0/10. Leave the poor Stranger Things girl out of this
Fall Out Boy: 9/10. I conferred with an expert on this one who confirmed that they are in fact boys who had a falling out
Cream: 8/10. Considering this was the OG supergroup I’m sure a lot of people did in fact cream when their music came out
Edit: humans aren’t fucking monkeys. Stop saying we are

Steven James Hyde (born November 28, 1959), an '80s Man...
"Screws fall out all the time, the world's an imperfect place." -John Bender, The Breakfast Club
*****
Welcomed, to the Forman and Barnett Family:
Jacqueline "Jackie" Hyde (nee Burkhart) (wife, May 1982-present)
Rebecca "Becca" Hyde (daughter, with Jackie, born December 5, 1985)
James Hyde (son, with Jackie, born October 22, 1987)
William "WB" Barnett (still his dad)
Angela "Angie" Barnett (still his sister)
William "Will" Clark (nephew)
Reginald "Red" and Katherine "Kitty" Forman (adopted parents, since April 1982)
Eric Forman (adopted brother)
Donna Pinciotti-Forman (nee Pinciotti) (adopted sister-in-law)
Elizabeth "Betsy" Kelso, Katherine "Kate" Forman, and Cecilia Acosta (goddaughters [adopted niece; for Kate], with Jackie)
Alexander "Alex" Forman (upcoming adopted nephew [*cough* niece *cough*])
Adrian Forman (adopted nephew), Hannah Kelso and Ashley Tate (basically his nieces)
Location(s):
Point Place, Wisconsin (January-March 1980)
Milwaukee, Wisconsin (March 1980-September 1989)
Chicago, Illinois (September 1989-present)
Occupation(s):
Owner and manager of the Point Place Grooves (January-March 1980), owner and manager of the West Milwaukee Grooves (March 1980-September 1989), owner and manager of the Rogers Park and Hyde Park Grooves (September 1989-present)
Interests:
Hobbies: Music, music, music. Learning how to play guitar. Hanging out with the wife and kids. Playing some chess. The occasional beer or joint, the occasional party or circle. The guys watched The Brave Little Toaster when they were high as fuck once. Because the creators had to be high, man, to write a whole fuckin' movie (based on a book, apparently) about talking appliances.
Movies: Stand by Me, Rain Man, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Heathers, The Breakfast Club. He watches the last two with Jackie, and the National Lampoon stuff with Forman and Donna, usually.
TV: Little House on the Prairie. Forman and Donna rope him into watching Cheers and The Wonder Years sometimes. Most 80s sitcoms suck, though. It's all super G rated, nuclear family crap. He only likes that stuff in real life, not idolized on some half-assed TV set.
Music: Lots of the old stuff. Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Who, The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath. Some Santana and Steely Dan, if he's in a good mood. He listens to some new releases from AC/DC, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Springsteen, and other holdovers from the 70s.
But ever since Bonham and Lennon died, music hasn't been the same. Hair metal sucks (fuck Twisted Sister, Poison, Motley Crue, and Def Leppard), and so does the soft rock crap Forman calls rock (it's barely rock music, catered to the masses), so only a few popular 80s bands pique his interest. Mainly, Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Guns 'N Roses. Bon Jovi's all right, but that's more of Forman and Donna's thing.
By the end of the decade, though, the alternative and grunge scene's where it's at. Nirvana, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers. A bunch of other underground stuff, which he's more than willing to support. With his hard-earned, cold-hard cash.
Extra Note: Orwell's dystopia gets closer and closer to comin' true, all the fuckin' time...

What are the animatronics' music preferences?
Freddy: Oh I enjoy a wide variety of genres. Usually I stick with some kind of alternative-indie, pop, or EDM. One of my favorite bands is Red Hot Chili Peppers!
__________________
Chica: I LOVE music from the 80s, or has that vibe to it! Like workout music! Songs you can get your body moving to! Oh especially synth-pop and new wave type music! I love A-ha and Duran Duran! Oh! I also love a good musical! Little Shop of Horrors, Heathers, Sweeney Todd, they are all so awesome to listen to and I will be singing them all the time!
__________________
Roxy: I'm more into the metal scene. Screamo, post-hardcore, grunge, things like that. Avenged Sevenfold and Sleeping With Sirens are some bangers! I'll listen to Three Days Grace at times too. Alt-rock is also something I'm into.
__________________
Monty: I really like folk and jazz music mixed in with rock or alt-rock. Also swing music at times. My go-to band to listen to is Poor Man's Poison or Bid Bad Voodoo Daddy, but recently I found The Devil Makes Three and that band is really cool so far!
__________________
Sun: I usually listen to instrumentals or video game music! Things I can play in the background while doing things without getting too distracted by the music! Whenever Moon plays a game I'll listen to the soundtrack and pick songs I like that show up to add to a playlist. I really like the Bugsnax soundtrack and also the music in Just Shapes and Beats! I also listen to classical music from time to time, mainly piano like Beethoven.
__________________
Moon: I don't know... I just hop from one thing to the next. I don't care too much about what is being played. I'll listen to country, fold, hardcore rock, death metal, lullabies, EDM, anything really..... Though, I have been drawn to more uh... messed up music recently. Things with disturbing messages and themes, kinda like horrocore or something I think. Bands like Will Wood, Dr.Steel, and Creature Feature have been in my music rotary recently.
__________________
DJMM: As HARD as it may be to believe, but I like EDM haha! Electronic music has always been my favorite! Dubstep, electronica, House, EBM. Oh! Actually, I do also like industrial music! Which does have electronic properties to it, but it leans more towards rock and punk! It really is an aggressive style but in a very good way! My preferred bands right now are I Will Never Be the Same and Circle of Dust, but I'm sure it will change soon enough considering I was just listening to Celldweller a whole lot before finding those other bands!
__________________
Mapbot: I have been informed by the DJ that my music taste is known as glitch, breakcore, or experimental. I listen to two different artists when given the chance to request a song. They are as followed: Nero's Day at Disneyland and Lauren Bousfield.
__________________
[Had a lot of fun with this! Found a lot of new music to listen too as well! Since Bonnie and Foxy aren't here to answer, I'll answer for them.
Bonnie liked swing and jazz music along with classical. He listened to people like Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. Though he would happily listen to other genres as well, but he never cared much for EDM that was way too electronic. Like he can stand Daft Punk but not so much someone like Skrillex.
Foxy, like DJ, is pretty obvious in his choice of music. He loved sea shanties, but would also listen to acapella. The Longest Johns and The Jolly Jogers were people he loved listening to because of how they sang sea shanties. He definitely did also listen to musicals with Chica though! The two of them would sing for hours, especially duets.]

Sitting in the town I went to university for a couple of years, and have been coming here for years before and after that on a fairly regular basis, but not since before COVID occurred. The logistics worked out in a way that gave me some time spent just wandering around downtown, which is exactly what I wanted. The lovely woman driving me asked if I wanted to use her hotel room to kill the time, and I made something up about wanting to see my old campus instead, because I thought that would sound less weird than what I actually wanted to do, which was walk around the part of the town where tournaments used to be held, feel some emotions about the fact that it still exists, and then go sit in a building with heating wifi and listen to Mr. Daniel John Kit-Kats process emotions at me while I wait to be able to get to my own hotel.
It's actually been really fucking weird listening to some Kitson recordings while doing this. I thought they'd pair well together, my own actually nostalgia and regret for time missed mixed with listening to someone else talk about that sort of shit, and it has been nice. But also weird, like this space that I know entirely as basically one giant venue for my sport is not supposed to coexist with my escapist comedy.
It's like when Andy Zaltzman recorded mini Bugle episodes for each day of the 2012 Olympics, and on one day, he went to see my sport. The mini episode detailed what he'd seen, including watching a very good American athlete win gold. I haven't actually met that American in person, but he's in my general orbit, the guy all my athletes look up to, everyone I know who has met him tells the story every chance they get, my old high school teammate scored two points on him in an international tournament once and it was the coolest thing in the world. Anyway, my brain had a strong, unexpected, visceral adverse reaction to hearing Andy Zaltzman say that guy's name. Those just should not go together. Brilliant, intellectual, pure and perfect Andy Zaltzman is not meant to exist on the same plane of reality as that guy from my fucked up backwards sport, who sells his own line of shoes. I feel a bit the same way while listening to Daniel Kitson here. Weird that this place still exists, weirder that Daniel Kitson's voice doesn't just get blocked by the airwaves here, due to this not being that sort of place.
I was prepared for some unexpected negative emotions, as I ventured out here for the first time in so long. I knew I might feel some things I wouldn't be able to predict. But so far, there's been the expected somewhat bittersweet nostalgia and things, and beyond that, mainly expected positive emotions. I'm discovering emotions I didn't even previously know I had the capacity for, such as:
- Wanting to sing along to a Red Hot Chili Peppers song when it came on near the end of a road trip
- Getting excited at the sight of the CN Tower, after spending years hating that thing, because seeing it means I'm somewhere in the general vicinity of that cluster of cities and towns that think they're the centre of the universe when they aren't even the centre of the province, I live a ways south of the geographic centre of the province but I still get called someone from "the North" because I'm up from that one cluster, and population density does not make them better than us, and that's what I thought for years, but today it was just... "Oh shit, that skyline's still there"
- Telling people, "You know, I went to school here", even though they don't care
- Tapping concrete structures with my hand just to be sure I'm really here
I'll let you all know if there turn out to be more.

Eddie - Red Hot Chili Peppers
“Eddie” is the second single from the Red Hot Chili Peppers' thirteenth studio album, Return of the Dream Canteen. It was inspired by the October 2020 passing of legendary rock guitarist Eddie Van Halen.
In a September 2022 Instagram post, Anthony Keidis discussed the song’s inception:
"Sometimes we don’t realize how deeply affected and connected we are to artists until the day they die. Eddie Van Halen was a one of a kind. The day after his death Flea came into rehearsal with an emotional bassline. John, Chad and I started playing along and soon with all our hearts, a song in his honor effortlessly unfolded."
[Verse 1]
Sailing the Sunset Strip, I'm a bit of a king
Granny would take a trip, I've been bending the strings
Got hammers in both my hands, such a delicate touch
They say I'm from Amsterdam, does that make me Dutch?
[Chorus]
Please don't remember me for what I did last night, oh
Please don't remember me, Lord and children
Please don't remember me, it's only 1980
It's only 1983
[Verse 2]
Smoking the reefer, feeling my own light
My brother's a keeper, I married a TV wife
The devil's Camaro, parked in the high school lot
A little sombrero 'cause teacher was way too hot
[Chorus]
Please don't remember me for what did last night, oh
Please don't remember me, listen Lord now
Please don't remember me, it's only 1980
It's only 1983
[Bridge]
Tell my love "But leave me never"
Can't complain about the weather
Snowing at the Rainbow, have a ball
Cut my teeth down at the Whiskey
GTO's tried to kiss me
One more song, they have seen it all
[Guitar Solo]
[Chorus]
Please don't remember me for what I did last night, oh
Please don't remember me, what'd say Lord?
Please don't remember me, it's only 1980
It's only 1983

How the international cultural community supports Ukraine and spreads the truth about the war
In a year and a half of the heroic resistance in a full-scale war with Russia, Ukrainians managed to garner not only unprecedented diplomatic and military support from foreign allies, but also to consolidate dozens of world-class stars around the events in Ukraine.
In March 2022, the Stand Up for Ukraine programme was launched, initiated by the Government of Canada and the European Commission at the request of the President of Ukraine. In addition to politicians and public figures, world stars of show business joined it. Among them: Elton John, Celine Dion, Katy Perry, Metallica, Miley Cyrus, Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Eilish, Klaus Meine, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, One Republic, and others. They picked up the hashtag #standupforukraine and spread their posts about the need to support Ukraine among millions of users, raising billions of euros in aid. However, this was only the beginning.
The unexpected song of Andrii Khlyvniuk with the legendary band Pink Floyd to the lyrics of the folk song Chervona Kalyna was recorded at the initiative of the lead singer and guitarist of the band, David Gilmour. The song became almost an anthem of the inevitable victory of Ukrainians in the war. Then the events unfolded one after another: U2 soloist Bono in a duet with Taras Topolia sang at a concert in the capital’s underground, actress Angelina Jolie ran to the bomb shelter during the air raid in Lviv, where she came as a UN ambassador to meet with refugees, actor and director Sean Penn walked around Kyiv with a camera in the company of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Each public reaction of celebrities to the armed aggression in Ukraine drew the world’s attention to the war and spoke about the realities of our opposition to the enemy. Anti-war rhetoric was especially valuable on the part of artists, without urging us to reconciliate through creativity. It is great that the celebrities understood this, and therefore they were and are with us in the desire to defeat the evil.
A clear and expressive position, personal meetings with people and live impressions of the cities mutilated by the occupiers, which are shared on their social media profiles by many artists, actors, and directors, set up their supporters to analyse what is really happening in our country. Therefore, the stories about Ukraine in the celebrity’s account are not only a phenomenon that a few years ago could not be imagined, but also an authoritative source of influence on public opinion. Buying pickup trucks at the front, asking fans to donate to Ukrainians instead of gifts for significant dates, participating in charity events, and purposefully spreading Ukrainian culture is an incomplete list of what has been done. By the way, a favourite of several generations, French actress Catherine Deneuve, suddenly read a poem by Lesya Ukrainka from the stage of the Cannes Film Festival.
What result does it yield?
Today, despite the fact the media space is tired of hostilities, some cultural figures do not forget the topic of Ukraine in their social networks and continue to speak frankly about Russia as an aggressor country, making publications about terrorist attacks and genocide that resonate even among the least empathic audiences, refuting fakes invented by Russian propaganda, wearing accessories with Ukrainian symbols, and asking the world not to forget about the war.
In the context of our struggle not only for territories, but also for our values and national identity, the support of cultural figures becomes an information weapon in countering Russian propaganda about the so-called “one people.”

The diverse public activity of creative individuals arouses interest in Ukraine, forms ideas about it and its people, motivates the audience to realize the deeper reasons for our resistance, understand why we so zealously promote the rejection of the culture of the occupiers abroad and separate ourselves from everything connected to Russia, which seems to be something elitist to many in the world. With the help of culture, we can demonstrate our uniqueness. Last but not least, thanks to our unofficial ambassadors, the world is beginning to call things for what they are and finally distinguish us from the Russians.
Here is a selection of directors and photographers — daredevils — who risked visiting Ukraine and did a lot to further spread the truth about the war in the world.
Bernard-Henri Lévy, a famous French filmmaker, has visited Ukraine several times since 2014. After the full-scale invasion, his travels to the warring country became even more frequent due to his work on two documentaries: Why Ukraine, about the first days of the Russian offensive, and Glory to Ukraine. In this film, which has already premiered in the United States, the director showed the cities and villages of Kharkiv and Kherson oblasts that were under the occupiers. He even travelled along the front and introduced the viewer to soldiers and civilians have lost everything, but continue to impress with their resilience.
According to Bernard-Henri Lévy, he travelled without a previously thought-out route, but the only thing he and his crew were sure of was that the truth was on Ukraine’s side. The director has already transferred the royalties for the film to the Olena Zelenska Foundation, and the money will be spent on the reconstruction of the hospital in Izium. The author himself reported in an interview with Ukrainian journalists that this was a film against tiredness from Ukraine.
Another director and famous actor, Sean Penn, was already in Ukraine on the day of the full-scale invasion because he was working on a documentary about Volodymyr Zelenskyy. However, the beginning of the full-scale war and the change in the role of the president in less than a day inspired the author to reformat the film. The director visited Kyiv several times and even presented his Oscar to the president, supporting Ukrainians after Zelenskyy’s request to speak at the 95th Oscar ceremony was rejected by the American Film Academy.
The film Superpower premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, marking the beginning of the invasion; it is about the desperate resistance of Ukrainians and their heroic struggle. In June, the film was first seen by Ukrainian viewers, and it will be released in other countries of the world in the future.
Howard Graham Buffett is an American philanthropist, farmer, and photographer, the son of Warren Buffett, a famous billionaire and founder of The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, which has already provided almost USD 200 mln in aid to Ukrainians.  He managed to visit Ukraine more than once, his camera even saw the devastated Kherson Oblast and the shelled Kharkiv Oblast. Now, he is preparing to publish a photobook with photos, full of striking realism. It will be dedicated to the war in the centre of modern Europe so that thousands could realize the tragic events in the life of the Ukrainian people and join to help.
Beau Willimon, an American screenwriter and playwright who was one of the developers of the popular political series House of Cards, visited Ukraine as well. In Ukraine, he sought to collect material for a documentary that would tell the world about the war crimes of Russians. According to the website of the Bucha City Hall, Beau Willimon visited Bucha to document the atrocities of the Russian invasion and to film the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people.
Cary Fukunagaga is another American director who was not afraid to come to Ukraine in the second week of the full-scale war and even stay for more than a month, although he came without a specific professional purpose. According to the director, he has long been interested in politics, felt the inevitability of these tragic events, and resented the international community, which, in his opinion, did not do enough to avoid Russia’s armed aggression.
He did not work on a film like others, but instead, he photographed people and the consequences of shelling and occupation of Ukrainian cities. His being in Ukraine actually turned into a humanitarian mission, in which he tried to show the world as many consequences of the war as possible, to evoke more empathy and assistance to Ukrainians.

Björk - Post
Björk was somewhat known for being the quirky frontwoman of The Sugarcubes, but it was her second solo album that cemented her reputation for being weird as fuck. The album isn't really that strange, when you break it down it's mostly trip hop inspired pop music with a unique vocal delivery. The delivery is definitely what cements it though. Björk warbles, whispers, and screams through every track. Sometimes with total disregard for the underlying music track. The result is surreal and mesmerizing. While Björk may have doubled down on the weirdness as her career continued this is definitely the point where people started to really take notice.
Tumblr media
The Modern Lovers - s/t
I can't stand Jonathan Richman's voice. He sounds like The Fonz trying to do a Sylvester Stallone impersonation. His lyrics are idiotic and juvenile. It feels like he's trying to project a sense of childlike innocence while also singing about girl as if we're objects to be won. Honestly there's such a weird conservative vibe that I get from him, he's so smug about not doing drugs and he, in his own words, "want(s) to keep (his) place in the old world". It just smacks of conservatism. And why does he like New England so much? Shut up. Roadrunner is a good song tho.

The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man
With their jangly twelve string guitars and their combination of originals and Dylan covers The Byrds managed to hit the scene as both the American answer to the Beatles and the originators of folk rock. Hazy vocal harmonies, and crisp arpeggios make for a very summery, very California sound, but with enough of the Mersey beat to feel like a natural part of the British invasion infested waters of 65.
Tumblr media
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
This would be a great John Frusciante album, but for some reason there's this guy singing idiotic lyrics over all the really good guitar parts. I've never been huge on Kiedris as a vocalist, but every RHCP album from this one on has the most annoying white guy rapping meets sensitive frat boy vibes. Even the parts I like are tainted by the knowledge that this is one of the most sexual assault at a college party tier albums of all time.

Big Star - Third/Sister Lovers
This is one of those albums with a million different versions. It was recorded in 74 and the Rolling Stone list is referring to the first release from 78. I'm just gonna go ahead and review the 92 release because it's the one I have and the one that most reflects the band's intention for the album. Alex Chilton more or less recorded this as a solo album with a revolving cast of musicians including the members of Big Star. And it is a weird personal project that reflects Chilton's unstable mental state. He sounds like he's gonna fall apart on half the songs and the garage pop of previous records is replaced with an unsteady shambling mess of lofi indie classic rock. It's beautiful, of course, and I honestly think that Alex Chilton should be allowed to do whatever he wants in the studio at all times.
