visited some family friends yesterday before a concert & watched them celebrate the third night of hanukkah which was lovely

the youngest child was enlisted to prep the menorah and she decided to be proactive and remove the built up candle wax from previous nights with a..well, a severed barbie arm. it appears she was gathering the old wax for later use. i did Not laugh because i could tell she was Very focused on doing a thorough job.

"so what are you going to do with the wax you've gathered?"

"i do not know.....but its for later. for me."

"oh , okay."

#kids are precious. idk it warmed my heart & reminded me of myself at that age. i too had a surplus of doll parts and wax. #she was very sad that they didn't have enough food to feed my family & i given they only had jelly donuts left at that point #so to make her a little less sad i had some pomegranate juice and sat with her while she told me about the cat she saw earlier

so today was a lot of fun!! the cupsleeve was crowded and loud and i kinda wanted to leave but me and my bff stayed just long enough to get freebies and dip lol then we went to a couple of kpop gift shops :3

then we went to a grocery store and i found pokemon candies with my baby sobble on them 🥺🥺🥺 my bff was like “you’re really gonna buy candy just bc one of your fave pokemon is on it?” and i said “people do that with kpop albums all the time!” so i think i was in the right 😌

oh and we got taiyaki ice cream but i forgot to take my lactose intolerance pills so my stomach started to hate me after a couple of bites 😭😭😭 but it was sooo good 😔 hehe i briefly daydreamed about taking you there and feeding you my ice cream 🥺🩵

then we went to a bakery and i bought some egg tarts! i just had one and it was so good! i was looking to see if i should buy anything else and realized i was looking with you in mind 😭 recently i’ve been shopping like i intend to come home to you and being you a little treat djshhss gift giving is one of my love languages >< i like the idea of getting you something just bc i was thinking of you~

overall today was really nice!! i wish i was spending it with you but at the same time i would not wish being in this heat on my worst enemy walking around was so miserable we tried our hardest to stay inside of air conditioned buildings all day sjshhs so i’ll have to come to you instead. make room for me honey~ save me from this disgusting heat and allow me to seek refuge in your loving arms 🥺🥺🥺🩵

sure the resident is a hospital show that airs on fox on tuesday nights where many of the main characters end up neatly paired off heterosexually, but 3/4 proposals (by my count) have started with a woman suggesting to her partner that they get married for financial or legal reasons and honestly that really does it for me

Ten years ago, when I was woefully unemployed, I volunteered at the local animal shelter where my partner and I adopted our two little feline babies. Basically, I was a cat volunteer. Some days, I scooped and washed litter pans, but most days, I just socialized the cats, which is really, really important because a cat that isn’t socialized is an unadoptable cat, and an unadoptable cat is a dead cat (as in they will literally euthanize cats that cannot be adopted because the shelter just doesn’t have the resources to hold onto unadoptable animals). Anyway, I still remember this tiny black kitten named Jelly Bean. He was the sweetest, cutest little guy I’ve ever known. One day, he just curled up in my lap, and I just sat there for a half hour, in bliss, with this precious little baby. Fortunately, he was adopted, and I hope he’s still living his happily ever after.
