Hello there! You've been tagged! You don't have to do anything if you don't want to, but if you'd like, list 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last 10 people who reblogged something from you! Learn to know your mutuals and followers! 💖💖💖 :3 :3 :3
I love this, thank you!! 1) Sasuke/Team Taka. This is so obvious but I have to put this here. They bring me so much joy I'm not sure if it's even healthy to be this dependent on fictional characters lol.
2) Music. This is one thing I cannot live without. If I didn't have music in my life I would be nothing. Music makes my heart sing and I love it so. much.
3) Stationery. I have one love in this world besides Sasuke/Team Taka and it's collecting stationery. I love a good notebook, washi tape, pens, stickers, you get the idea. Whenever I need a reset sitting down and pasting things into notebooks has never failed me.
4) Long walks. There's something about going outside and being outside for a long period of time that just hits right, you know?
5) Japanese Food. This is ultimate comfort food for me, I eat it everyday and there's nothing else I'd rather be eating. It genuinely makes me so excited. I actually found a love of cooking through Japanese food so that's really cool.

Day 169
So the batch of stuff (and it was a lot of stuff), arrived earlier than I had expected. Like I thought it was arriving on Tuesday, but it arrived on Friday. I spent my lunch sorting through all the stickers and thinking about how they would get used. There are thoughts percolating in the back of my head.
The gold foil tiny stickers from the brand BGM was what I expected in terms of size. They’re really cute stickers and I got a lot of food ones because I like cute food, especially cute sweets. The ink themed stickers were also what I expected though I wonder if the plastic ink bottle cut out that came with it for design purposes is also a sticker…
If it’s not a sticker can I glue stick it to the paper or am I going to need washi tape?
(Yes I used glue stick as a verb, but it makes sense doesn’t it?)
The stickers from the Magic Land brand turned out to be much larger than I expected. However, they are also delightful in design, I wished I got all the packets to be honest. They’re just very whimsical, they’re the kind of thing I would love to play with.
The two major items in there that fascinate me and I wanted to play with the most were not stickers or washi tape but pens. I’ve been looking for metallic brush pens that I could actually write with. The last set I bought, while they laid the ink on very well and were very shiny, the brush tips are too long and too big for the letter size I work with. I got smaller ones, but the ink is very light. I am going to have to learn to write in pencil, erase it and then write with the pen I think will work best as long as I don’t erase hard to remove everything.
The other item is a glue pen, both of these are Japanese in design I believe. I wanted to see if it was better than the glue pen. It is certainly more comfortable to use than the clunky glue stick, but it doesn't stick any better I don’t think than a glue stick. Which was a pity… But I made two pages with these items. The first page was very simple because I only cared about the writing. The second was using the scrap paper I have.
I’m still not sure about the busy aesthetic that comes with using vintage scrap paper and stickers. Still, it was a neat thing to do.

i might have had to apply and get approved for my first credit card in years that came with a gift card (i only have a max limit of 300 USD) but i managed to snag these beautiful imported copic sketch markers for only 57 dollars… the list price is about 100 here but after tax it was more like 120 so i saved around 50% (i can pay back what i charged w/o any interest occurring so don’t worry!)
i have a 36 set of the classic but i much prefer the nibs on the sketch ones… the problem is they just cost more money. i have a few of these colours already in my classic set but not all the purples, blues, and pinks which is what i really wanted and buying just the individual markers (at 5-7 dollars per marker!) was a lot more money and would’ve taken awhile because i just don’t have the cash like that for markers
i also bought a new moleskine sketchbook and other things for journaling and stationery along with a hiragana and katakana practice workbook (not on the credit line)… this sounds like a lot but it really wasn’t that much altogether as most of the items were very cheap. the most expensive were the sketchbook, notebook, and some high quality washi tape.
i have been avoiding fast food/general impulse purchases and cutting back on cigarettes to save money… and i have NO appointments i need to drive far to attend this month for the first time since this year started so that’s saving me a ton in gas money as i don’t use much otherwise. these appointments were taking half a tank of gas on a car with great gas mileage and gas is nearly 5 dollars a gallon where i live currently
not to mention my mainstay food right now is japanese short grain rice and noodles with many long lasting, versatile, and shelf stable or frozen food products (like fruit and vegetables) i’ve been stockpiling for months… plus then adding things like cheap fresh vegetables and tofu to for more protein/nutrition
i’ll take photos when i receive everything :)

Eeep! It's a Yoseka haul! I preordered the TRC 2023 passport pencil board because JUST LOOK AT IT!!! Japanese retro cafe theme, one of my favorite themes!! ♡♡♡ -swoon- The gold foiling, the cute foods with a traveler's notebook on the side, the BESTTT!
I mainly bought stickers in this order to decorate my hobonichi. I have a good amount of washi tapes but not much in sticker variety. Trying Himekuri day free date stickers to spice up certain days, heehee~

Day 212
Tumblr media
I love my parents, they enable my dragon-like sticker hoarding habits.
So my parents wanted to take me to the big city to have a really nice Chinese dinner. The problem is my own stamina and the fact that driving to Toronto is a task and a half on a Friday. Unless you want to be stuck in traffic for a few hours, it is best to leave in early afternoon, but that meant a lot of time to kill.
My father had texted me the night before and asked if we left at 1 p.m.; where would you like to go? It was his thoughtful way of finding a place I could chill and not die by the end of the day. I suggested we head to a mall, which he brilliantly realized I meant a Chinese mall, which is a topic for another day.
Since we had time to kill, in a very typical, Chinese parent fashion, our first stop was at a grocery store attached to the mall. It’s a tradition that happens when you live in a smaller city that doesn’t have the population numbers to sustain a really good Asian grocery store. Anyhow, I was in the middle of dumping a bag of baby bok choy and a package of snow peas into the cart for myself when my dad came up to me and asked.
“Do you want to go to the Japanese store next door?”
And for a moment I was confused by this, or maybe I had food on the brain seeing I was trying to decide if my mom would get on my case for buying junk food.
“Like a food Japanese store or a lifestyle Japanese store?”
So, in Toronto, there are large, almost grocery store size, shops that are dedicated to Japanese goods and products, which I tend to call ‘lifestyle’ stores because they sell almost everything meant for daily living. From the most basic bowls, soy sauce dishes, cups, tea pots to some really obscure things like spam cutters and gardening sleeves to keep dirt from going up the sleeves of your clothes while gardening.
And I thought this would be fun to look through because Japanese household items are fascinating. They are designed to solve maybe one or two specific needs, and that is it. Which is strange when you think about the fact that most Japanese living in a big city, live in small apartments where space is at a premium and owning a lot of small knickknacks that do very specific things would take up space. But at any rate, I agreed to this since we would still have time to kill.
But as I hovered near my mother while she looked at some cute, but not useful to her kitchen gadgets, she turned to me and said.
“You don’t need to stay around here, go on and find your crafting things.”
It hadn’t occurred to me to go look for washi tape and stickers, but now that my sweet mother had put the idea in my head I made a beeline to the stationary section. It did not disappoint, not only did they have so many stickers (so, so many stickers), they also had a whole section for BGM stickers. I also realized, the moment I turned around, they also had tape stickers from the Brande brand, and most of these stickers, I had never seen online. Like, look at this.
Tumblr media
Honestly, the only reason why I didn’t get more stickers was because I didn’t want my mom to know how much I would spend on that stuff. As my Aunt Kathy would later point out, 25 dollars for four sets of stickers isn’t bad, especially since they’re all die cut instead of being on a sheet. It also means there are more stickers than there would be on a single sheet. But it’s embarrassing to admit that if I had it my way, I would have brought a lot more stickers.
Tumblr media
But I’m running out of places to put these.

Listen if you have the money to spend on something nice for yourself and you like cute stationery/arts and crafts I highly suggest Zenpop box. It’s a subscription service where they send you a themed box of japanese stationery and arts and crafts products every month (washi tape, pens, cute sticky notes, cute stickers, erasers, etc.). Everything is cute and has a new theme every month. I paid for the three-month pack and it’s honestly been the only source of joy in my life rn, to be so excited to open up a cute box with cute things inside I feel like your soul needs to indulge in some cute things you would otherwise not be able to get your hands on all at once. They also have a sweets box and a ramen box too so if getting japanese stationery isn’t your thing and you wanna try japanese foods and sweets then there’s that option too.
