Cleaning up

Fluff drabble, 462 words, Lyutsifer Safin / Madeleine Swann ship

Lyutsifer stood in front of the sink and looked at the running water. He moved slowly out to wet his hands before reaching for the bar of soap.

He rolled the soap inside his palms, and watched the foam appearing.

He set the bar of soap aside on the rim of the metal sink and rubbed his palms together.

Concentrated, he soaped up every of his fingers from tip to length. Linking the fingers together, he twisted his hands to make sure the foam coated every spot.

A moment of irritation appeared, as his right sleeve slipped a bit down. Lyutsifer blinked the anxiety away. It will hold.

He turned his hands and rubbed the back of his hands together, before twirling his thumbs inside his closed fist.

At last, he rubbed his fingertips inside his palms.

As he eventually rinsed his hands clean, his mind was empty and calm.

His little after work ritual has help as always to wash the stressful day away.

Taking a fresh towel, he dried his hands as concentrated and meticulously as he washed his hands before.

Finished, satisfied, he set the towel aside and turned to leave his workplace. He did not use a disinfectant gel afterwards.

Firstly, the skin of his hands were already tighten and rasp.

Secondly, a special treatment wait for him in his quarters.

Holding his hands together, one resting inside the palm of the other, he strolled along the corridors to his rooms. He acted confident, alas he felt a growing excitement. A child, lurking for his pudding.

Eventually he entered his quarters. Not knocking before he opens the door - that would be silly - but clearing his throat and stepping careful inside.

The scent of softwood and cotton in the air, a hint of perfume. Her perfume.

Madeline sat on one of the ground cushions. She had read. His entrance made her set the book aside.

«Good evening my love.»

He found his voice croak, his tongue lame after hours of research without talking to anyone. She smiled anyway.

«Lyutsifer.», she just said.

That was enough to make him feel settled and home.

A little bow later, changing his boots to slippers, he sat in front of her. Holding his hands up, he waited patiently, rather enjoyed the ritual she had for him.

With soft gentle movement she massages a salve on his hands. Her small fingers tangling with his, she spoiled him with a calming cream to sooth his gastritis tortured knuckles.

Hypnotized by Madeline's carefulness, he observed her concentrated face until she finished. Rubbing her hands together to spread the rest of the salve in her skin, she smiled, fully aware of his stare.

«Will you kiss me now?»

«I thought you never ask.»

Set after No Time To Die.

After all is said and down James sit down Madeleine and says she isn't my daughter, no prelude, no how are you and i missed you or maybe we should talk. Four words and a dead stone look right back at the woman in front of him and she can't be mine but I appreciate what you tried to do while I was out there. All Madeleine can do is watch him watching her, sit on a plane while Mathilde is four feet from them playing with Q and Nomi. Of course she is yours! she says trying to whisper because of all the moments he could have choose to have this conversation now is the least appropriate one.

'Leine and it should sound sweet like he did when he was showing her all the beauty the world has to offer but it comes out tired and so incredibile done with everything and everybody, she can't be mine because I'm sterile. And oh, now Q and Nomi are watching them, and Mathilde is looking around confused because no one is playing with her anymore and she can't find her little bunny. It's impossible, you were the only on-, she tries to say but he's looking at her with in the knowing way she had grow to found irritable. If I was she wouldn't be here, they confirmed it in Medical, every mission after Venice, and it's been fifteen years love. He stops for a second, watching where Q is showing Mathild and Nomi a video about killer whales I could still be her dad, if you want, we could come out with something so I could spend time with her while you're at work when I'm home or whatever you prefer. I'm not alone anymore, like I was after Matera, and I'm sure she could grown to like having others to call family. Or not. It's your choice, whatever you decide will be okay for me. He's smiling at her now, blood on his cheek, too many stitches on his chest again and his leg is probably hurting like hell but he is still standing.

I-I'm going to have to think about it she replies, tentatively smiling back, thank you for offering to watch after her.

It's no problem. he says kissing her forhead, now, if you'll excuse me I have to save myself form an agent, a Quartemastes and a baby because i'm afraid they're going to ask me to adopt a bloody killer whale if they spend one more minute watching that video.

Madeliene watches him walk away from her again but this time isn't like Matera or like when he was on the island and she was sure he was going to die, he walks away and she's happy to know he will come back. Things will be different, they already are and she will have to consider things under another prospect now, but it's good. They all are alive, travelling back to London and Safin is dead, SPECTRE is really gone and she can fall asleep to the sound of her daughter's laugh feeling a little more relieved.

omg heyy🥺❤️ ty so much for reading my stories, i have so many head canons for them i'd love to share (most of these are assuming bond survived in nttd😂):

bond is so handsy, always trying to initiate stuff at the WORST times bc he thinks it's funny and hot (madeleine doesn't want to admit it, but she loves it)

while madeleine hates guns and doesn't want them looking of theirs shoulders, bond still has guns stashed away in strategic places for if something goes wrong. he just can't shake those years of training

even though they can both tolerate the cold/snow, bond and madeleine both hate it. they both associate it with their childhood and rough times (bond's parents dying, the avalanche where he lost his stepfather. madeleine's mother dying, and living in mostly solitude in austria) they both prefer sunny days and warmer weather

they're both so secretive but try to open up to each other as best they can. it's difficult but they both recognize they've had to compartmentalize over the years to survive (and it's a lot easier to open up when blofeld isnt manipulating them)

madeleine never wanted to be a mother, bc she was afraid she would not be a great mother like her own was, but she loves mathilde more than anything in the world

bond never wanted to be a father either but wants to try and make up for those lost 5 years in every way he can

neither of them watch a lot of tv, and prefer to read, and sometimes just enjoy each other's company in silence

bond is a control freak sometimes and always likes to drive, he goes insane when he's not in the driver's seat😂 madeleine doesn't mind most of the time

bond will always think back on vesper fondly, but he's accepted her death and moved on. he felt betrayed when her grave was destroyed, not bc he still was in love with her, but bc he thought madeleine had been working for spectre. (which was a dumb af choice on the writers tbh) vesper humbled him and allowed him to love, but madeleine made him realize that he TRULY could give up the life of an assassin and be something more

and going with the canon ending (and this is going to sound terrible) but i don't think it takes madeleine too long to accept and move on from bond's death. his death ovb. crushed her bc she LOVED james SO much, but they'd been apart 5 years, they were only together again for a few days. she'd spent longer without him than she did with him. she will always carry james in her heart, but she'd processed the loss of him long before he died

madeleine was the true love of james' life, but mathilde is the true love of madeleine's life. she's the greatest gift that james could've given her

(also not 00swann related) but on madeleine's birthday every year, mr. white would try to find her and celebrate from afar, wishing nothing more than to be with his daughter
