kind of funny how they lead us down the garden path in dark city. you would think this guy was the bad guy in this movie. cause 1. He's a labcoated psychiatrist with a spiral maze in his creepy green laboratory and he experiments on mice. 2. obvious limp and facial deformity in the movie/unexpected line delivery, all of which generally serves as fucked up movie shorthand for bad guy. 3. Played by Kiefer Sutherland, known for never once reigning it in and holding back when playing bad guys and creeps. 4. he's pulling this expression in this photo. But no it turns out he's the nicest man in the world and he saves the day and risks it all to save the main character. and hes like the brave little toaster to me

Actually, I also like that they don't overexplain too much what the creatures in Dark City are, or how or from where they got the humans from. Presumably they're from earth, but it's nice to keep it vague.
