It’s fathers day and thus I'm thinking about one of the most confusing xenoblade “dads” and its in quotes because im not even sure if he is a dad.

Like, the wiki says Dickson took in shulk, the entire fandom seems to agree on that, but then you play the game and while its an entirely reasonable assumption to make if you read into things, nowhere is it ever said or even really implied he did that? like every time they talk he never acts like this is a kid who lives with him. he just kinda has general cool uncle vibes, but like when reflecting on important people in his life shulk almost never seems to give that much lip to the guy who allegedly raised him, or take his betrayal as painfully as like. Dunban did lol.

It’s left me scratching my head for years as to whether there’s some outside source that confirms it or if we all just tricked ourselves into thinking they had an explicit father-son relationship that was totally communicated to us in game.

 like I never realized that the first time I was playing, and I watched a letsplayer who was also told that in his comments section and was like “oh, ok. I didnt realize that I wish they’d actually made that clear” like. either the writing completely failed to get its point across or we’ve all collectively hallucinated all that.

#u have no CLUE how big of a deal christmas is in my family. #xmas shopping starts in like. september. and all year my parents are like Christmas Is Coming! every time i ask them to buy me smth #we basically spend all of november hyping ourselves up and sometimes my mom brings the decorations inside in the #middle of the month #and we'll take an entire day to just decorate the house and play christmas music #every night in december my mom reads a different xmas story to my siblings and i. yeah its childish but its a tradition #[ which i started btw ] #putting the tree up is an all-day thing. mostly bc we cut our own trees so we have to go to the back forest and pick one which takes #a while lol #and all of this leads up to The Big Night. ie christmas eve #in which my mom tends to spend all day baking cookies [ which she does like every day for the whole month. i forgot to mention ] #and my siblings and i either do fuckall or get some last-minute xmas day prep done. ie wrapping the last of the gifts or smth #and then in the evening my mom puts out some appetizers [ ie little slices of salami. sliced vegetables. stuff like that ] #usually we also watch a movie around this time. last year it was national lampoons christmas vacation [ which is a great film btw ] #and then we all sit on my parents' bed and my mom reads ' the night before christmas ' to us. as is tradition #we always put out cookies and milk for santa like most ppl. but also carrots for the reindeer and candy canes for mrs claus :] #theres a bunch more stuff but i dont wanna talk TOO much lol. feel free to ask tho !! #asks #friend tag :]

Well it official, my work place sucks and has favorites, my work just gave out Christmas bonus to management andand not any other staff members. I work in a hotel and work very hard as a janitor to keep this place looking good inside and out for almost 8 years AND doing extra by cleaning rooms, and that's what they do... give the management who sits on their asses all day 400$ for "great work"

How about the cleaners that keep this business going?! we got coffee thermos with the company's logo.. I'd quit if there was a better placement in this stupid town right now I swear. I'm grateful for at least getting something but that just pisses me off learning this.
