Seduce Me Bros Trying The Period Pain Simulator
This has been my hyperfixation for over a week and I doubt it's gonna stop but also my body is mad I'm not pregnant so... Here, I guess.
James
I feel like he knows
He knows it's gonna hurt
But he has this sick sense of satisfaction
Knowing he can probably do better than his brothers
But he gets like 3 levels in and he's gritting his teeth and doing those really dramatic breaths
Save him
"I've read plenty, I'm sure this isn't as bad as it seem- ... I take back everything I just said. Dear, please, sweetheart, my love, no, I can't."
Erik
He probably tries to play it off
"Oh? Didn't take you to be one for pain, princess."
And then he's like curled in on himself
He does those like "I'm so sorry for every woman I've ever looked at" monologs
"This will be interestiNG!! Princess, I am so sorry that I ever doubted, oh God, any woman ever... They have to go through this... Every month?"
Sam
He's absolutely been laughing at his brothers
"It can't be that bad, drama queens. 10, immediately, I can take it."
He immediately regrets everything
Every choice he's ever made
He's doing that thing where he punches whatevers closest to him
He accidentally breaks a couple door frames on accident
Don't let him go to the roof unless you want your ceiling to cave in
"C'mon, level 10 immediately, I got this. OH MY- Holy shit, it's this bad? I'm gonna lose my fucking mind... WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS IS ONLY LEVEL 5?"
Matthew
Seeing Sam had him scared
He and Sam would bicker a lot but he knew Sam
He wouldn't react like that unless it was bad bad
He looks at you like "Please, I'm so sorry, please don't do this to me."
But just as you put the thing on he's already like "No, it hurts"
"It's not even turned on yet"
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN"
You turn it on and immediately he's like "Every month?"
Bro probably tears up a little
He understands how you're able to handle Simon now
This is so much worse
"Oh no, please, it hurts... It's not even on? Why does it hurt already? OH SWEET MOTHER OF- And you feel this every month?"
Damien
I want to say he would be like "Anyway, I'm gonna be busy all day so you have fun"
And you're like "Read my mind again, I dare you. You're not getting out of this."
And he winces at each and every one of his brothers reactions
"Ready?"
"No"
"Good. Neither is anyone when it's the real deal."
You turn it on and he's just silent
He's probably the type to do that like hiding the pain via singing thing
Like the "Oh my god 🎶 This is so terrible 🎵 I have so much respect for you 🎶"
Let's be real, he probably cries
"I'm sorry for doing anything, don't do this to mE- Oh, God, hmm. Nope, no, I'm good, I understand. Please!"
-
They all probably get a tracker for you and stock the house with chocolate in the days leading up. Their wives also thank you when they find out why they know so much.

okay fuckit, gather 'round: it's gubbles' storytime. girl's band cry hyperfixation be damned, it's bringing up so many Things in my heart. i say i've never performed live onstage, but that's not entirely true. while a far shot from actually taking part in a band and playing a show, allow me to tell you the tale of the closest I ever got to that: a random session at jamspace, pax east, 2016.
.......... senior year of college, i was brought onboard with another group of students who had not only completed a game demo for a class project, but wanted to take it further. a lil VR game, simple in concept and clean in execution, i was invited to do music and audio for it. (i was, of course, the sole game audio/music-focused student on campus, as my school's gamedev program didn't really have a dedicated audio designer track). ultimately it fizzled out and not much came of it, but for a good chunk of time it was everything. our future ambitions, something to carry us forth from graduation on into the industry, to cement our own little foothold in the vast world of game development. we took the train to boston so many times, showed off our game at SO MANY local events, hell i had never known how to navigate a complex subway system, and here we were sifting through every few weeks or so. it was a wild fucking time, and honestly? i wish i could experience it again. something about the weaving of fantastical future prospects with the tangible, corporeal experience of it all. once foreign subway systems, sprawling in a subterranean web of concrete and metal, the sidewalks of city streets lit by the glow of the city, now strangely familiar in such a short span of time... *ahem* right, where was i... right, pax east. our school provided a limited number of booths for teams to show off their projects at pax east, and being one of the big promising projects stirring up on campus, we were granted a spot. (actually i had TWO spots because two separate projects/teams i took part in got accepted, so i had to pull double duty for a lot of it LMFAO). i've been to pax before, but as a fan and attendee, not as a developer. so this was an entirely new experience... ...and that experience was having the booth you sit at all day right next to the massive league of legends (ew) stage!! they blasted music constantly! half of it was just percussion loops from Heavyocity's Damage, and i know because I RECOGNIZED THOSE PERCUSSION SOUNDS and even USED SOME OF THEM IN THE PROJECT I WAS WORKING ON. see, the convention floor is loud. like. incredibly fucking loud. it's one thing if you're walking around as a fan, you've got other talks in siderooms to go to, and you can always step out and get some fresh air if you're feeling overwhelmed. but ya can't do that when you're on shift to demo your game to con attendees for the next several hours, can ya? :3c so yeah, long story short, i got sick. real fuckin sick. i had to YELL over the din of the convention the entire time, and after just one day, i had already lost my voice. and i mean COMPLETELY LOST MY VOICE. i could not speak, only painfully croak. i had to resort to crude hand gestures and typing shit on my phone to communicate. it was rooouughhh. and after bringing this up with my teammates, they agreed to cover my shifts, and let me rest. because the con was so fucking loud, and i was still stuck there sick all day, i informed my team that i would be headed to the jamspace room to pick up earplugs. and by "earplugs" i mean. haha well. lets justr say. a bass guitar. (srry for screenshot but tumblr hated this paragraph for some reason and kept blocking the post):
Tumblr media
i was sick as fuck, and for sake of my health, should probably not have pushed myself. HOWEVER. i would NOT i repeat *NOT* let this sole opportunity to slip me by... i've always wanted to perform with other musicians, so fuck it, i am doing this. so the next twelve minutes i shuffled my sickly ass alll the way around to the room at the very end of the hall. i had taken note of the open-stage timeslots the day prior. i had one hour to do this shit. one hour to make the dream come true. i cannot describe the nervousness i felt going into that whole thing. i lied to my teammates. i couldn't speak. a dark room with a little clipboard to fill out a timeslot and instrument, and an empty, brightly lit stage on the other side of it. but i shuffled stage right, strapped on this bass, and asked for a pick (because im a fake bassist). and. holy shit.
i had no voice, but with that bass strapped to me? i could make the entire room *shake*. and words cannot describe how utterly fucking powerful that felt.
a few other randos took up the other instruments. i don't remember much about them, only that they intimidated the HELL out of me. i had done like concert band in high school, i've jammed on instruments in my room, but this? this is something entirely different. we played through a couple tracks... they kept suggesting "hey how about x song from y band?" but my stupid-ass doesn't have a degree in classic rock like everyone else apparently does, so i shrugged and said i didn't know how to play it. we finally settled on the one song suggested that i was, at least passingly, familiar with... metallica's enter sandman lmfaO the "passingly" there is very important, because while i know the general flow and structure, i wasn't sure about the specifics. when we got to the first pre-chorus, i notice something had shifted, and i was no longer playing the right notes. i must've either sounded terrible or look visibly confused, because the guitarist to my left turned toward me, angled his fretboard to be clearly in view, and taught me how to play the riff while performing it onstage. and i did it!! i picked it up, just like that!! it was just the earlier bit but transposed up a few steps or smth, but god, just. that little moment right there? that quick moment of guidance mid-performance? holy fuck that is magical. the other awesome moment was somewhere in the bridge, like. okay. i could barely hear myself, as the guitars and vocals and cymbals right behind me were all incredibly loud (they didn't have earplugs btw lol). but i wasn't sure i was like, contributing much to the song? and while i admittedly improvised this bit, for the build up into the final chorus, i stopped playing. i let the guitar and the drums have their space. and slowly, quietly, high up on the fretboard, built back up until WHAM, i come back in full force with the chorus. IT WAS SO COOL. LIKE. the mix sounded so weak and thin without me, and the contrast of making the entire fucking room violently vibrate with the flick of my wrist on the downbeat? holy FUCK. IT'S MAGICAL. MAGIC IS REAL Y'ALL AND IT IS ONSTAGE. anyway yeah, played that song, some members swapped out but no one else was signed up for bass, so i stuck on for a lil longer. another guitarist taught me how to play one of the splatoon themes, and while it was fun, the drummer kept us both going on that one riff for a looot longer than we wanted to lmfao fun fact! none of my team knew i did this!! they probably would've been PISSED had they found out!! actually they stole my con pass on the third morning, which made sense cause they had someone else fill in for me at the booth, but none of it was communicated to me and i was piiiiised. wound up navigating the subway and trains back home, all by myself, for the first time. but YEAH it was AMAZING. it wasn't an established band playing a local show, it was just a bunch of randos fucking around. and god. i... i really want to be part of a band someday. i want to feel this again.
even if just for one show, for one song, for one moment... i need to feel the weight of the room underneath my fingertips.

20 Questions For Fic Writers
Thanks for the tag, @vellaphoria! ♥
How many works do you have on AO3?
14 total, 4 on my gerryrigged account.
What’s your total A03 word count?
27,558. A good number of my pieces are quite short ficlets. I don't have a big portfolio of work - I've been in fandom for quite a while, but almost entirely as a lurker. For a handful of years, almost all of my writing output was in RP.
What fandoms do you write for?
Right now? Just DC, mostly Bats for the time being. Previously, hockey rpf, Star Wars, K, X-Men: First Class, and One Piece.
What are your top five fics by kudos?
hgjkldsf, most of these are on my other account, but:
[redacted] - ~10k, ~1700 kudos, hockey rpf [redacted] - ~3.5k, ~900 kudos, hockey rpf [redacted] - ~600 words, ~600 kudos, hockey rpf Hold It Up To The Mirror - 2.3k, 347 kudos, DC Comics [redacted] - ~300 words, ~300 kudos, One Piece
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I want to, because commenters are lovely and I appreciate them so much! And I try to, I just...don't always succeed >_>💧 or, looking at it from another perspective, I'm just very behind on them!
I adore people's comments and re-read them with fair frequency, and I do love interacting - but I also tend to get over-excited/anxious and then end up just turning the comments over and over in my little paws admiringly like sparkly gems instead of replying. Or, for another example, I got a bunch of lovely comments on my timeloop dicktim fic, but haven't been able to psyche myself up to reply because I still haven't been able to get out the promised follow-up fic, ha 🙃
What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh, probably Hold It Up To The Mirror. I left poor Dick and Tim in a really fucked up situation there, and it would absolutely have to get worse before it got any better. I do envision it getting better, though - despite where I end fic sometimes, I'm a sucker for eventual happy endings, especially for my OTPs. so I'm usually imagining a future path where things improve, even if it would be a (very) rough road to get there.
freefall (and the aftermath thereof) also left off on a pretty angsty note, but I give the edge to Hold It Up To The Mirror because of how bleak it is.
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I'm not sure how to quantify this, lol, I would say most of my happy endings are pretty happy. For fluff factor, maybe my latest, let your heart be light, because that one just revels in the shmoop.
Do you get hate on your fic?
Not so far - fingers crossed it stays that way!
Do you write smut?
Yes, sort of? Like. I have written it, and I would certainly like to write more. But I consider myself very amateurish/unskilled at it, so I'm embarrassed of it and mostly it doesn't see the light of day. Guess I need to spend more time practicing! 😅
Do you write crossovers?
Nope, not a huge fan of writing crossovers or fusions myself, though I'll read them occasionally. When it comes to fandoms, I tend to only have one hyperfixation at a time, and mixing two different ones doesn't really appeal, at least in terms of what I myself am driven to write.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of - fingers also crossed it stays that way.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't think so? It's been requested before, but I never saw the results XD
Have you ever co-written a fic?
Not so far, though I'd like to! The closest I've gotten would be writing out closely collaborated scenes in RP, which can in some cases read like a fic.
What‘s your all-time favourite ship?
Oh no, if I was forced to consider all of my fandoms at once, I'd have no idea. For DC, it's definitely DickTim. (It was Tim/Kon before this most recent immersion in the DC fandom, when I started to dig into Bat comics more holistically and DickTim reared its head up and swallowed me whole.)
What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Hm, I don't know that there are any in particular that I would firmly put on the shelf. The ones that I more generally doubt are all the ambitious long-fic ideas >_> because I suck at those. But they still exist as goals of mine, so I won't jinx any of them here!
What are your writing strengths?
.......Humor, maybe? Oh, I've been told I'm good at conveying tone and character voice through prose, and at putting together memorable or hard-hitting turns of phrase. Possibly structuring emotional arcs? 🤔
What are your writing weaknesses?
Elaborate run-on sentences. Descriptions, especially of setting details such as locations, clothing, etc. (hence why these things are often missing in my fics, lmfao). Purple prose. Over-editing. Overuse of implication/ambiguity/metaphor to the detriment of clarity. Stringing multiple scenes together, scene transitions in general, over-arching storyline plotting and all the other difficult parts of writing longer more plotty pieces. The 'stage'-blocking of physical movement, and how much/little of it needs to be described to be effective. Research - I am way too prone to just handwaving and going ehhhh, something something fill in the blank here, you know what I mean >.>
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've done this a couple times, but usually only short lines. Sometimes it's for effect - the POV character might not understand the language, so it's as impenetrable to them as to most readers. Or it's a line most English-speakers would be able to parse due to cognates/related languages, but it's just funnier or feels better in the other language. Or in like anime/manga fandoms, it might be a line in Japanese that most fans/readers would already be familiar with. Usually though I've just been Google translating, and have been kindly corrected on grammar etc. in the comments before, haha.
First fandom you wrote for?
well. that would be in like. middle school lol oh god. I think it was a Sailor Moon/Gundam Wing crossover hghkldjfskl. That or Dragonball Z. Thankfully my recollection of my FF.net account name has been lost to the sands of time.
Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
hm. I don't have strong feelings on this; I usually end up looking at my past fic with a critical eye. Maybe the little gen Dick & Tim ficlet I have on my other account? I wouldn't say it's my best, by any means, but that one kind of wrote itself in a fever state when I hadn't written anything in literal years, so I'm very fond of it for breaking through a creative block and being my first toe into writing for the DC fandom proper.
oh, and if you haven't been tagged yet and would care to play: @deepwithintheabyss, @annerp, and @the-alice-of-hearts?

it's tag game tuesday wednesday THURSDAY. fandom edition, baby! thank you to our beloved @celestialmickey for kicking it off and for tagging me, and also to @energievie & @tanktopgallavich !! 💛💛
your name: jessie
your age: 33
your first fandom(s): i usually say supernatural, but fuck it, i think it was spartacus. i may have engaged with it in a very different way, but i was hyperfixated as hell. i went to my first and only fan conventions. by myself! i never want to go to fan conventions! so yeah. spartacus.
your current fandom(s): shameless, and to a lesser degree these days, supernatural
how did you first get into fandom? hyperfixated on a show, stumbled upon the fandom side of tumblr, did not make a tumblr but lurked a little bit, decided fic was cringey and that i didn't like reading it (it was a v small fandom with not a lot of quality content), hyperfixated on another show and decided to try reading fic again, had my entire world rocked to its core, made a blog, been around ever since.
how long have you been engaging with fandom spaces? like nine years?
how often do you read fanfics? i'd say every day, usually when i'm in bed.
top 3 characters from your current fandom(s): mickey milkovich, dean winchester, castiel.
have you ever written a fic for a fandom? if so, shout it out! i sure have!
have you ever drawn fanart for a fandom? if so, drop a link! nope!
share a personal headcanon that you feel very strongly about: mickey was thinking about yevgeny when he and ian had the parenthood conversation in 11x12.
you’re trying to convince a friend to get into your current fandom(s) with you. what episode, clip, or scene are you showing them? okay so i actually did this with one of my closest irl friends and she got...possibly more into supernatural than i am, and she reads destiel fic, and has had intense gallavich fic phases as well. and it was actually super easy lol. she just has the same kind of brain that i have, and i just had to tell her to watch the shows because i knew they'd fuck her up the same way they fucked me up. she saw my reaction after november 5th 2020 and wanted to know everything, so i told her everything, and she started watching spn the next day. i watched shameless a couple months later and lost my entire mind, and all i had to do was tell her that she NEEDED to watch it, and she started watching it right away. i think if i had to show her a specific scene though, it probably would've been mickey coming out in 4x11. iconic, legendary. she would've eaten that up even with no context. also special shoutout to this friend, because she's the person who taught me to not be embarrassed about being interested in fic, or fandom in general. i always thought she was so brave for being open about her hyperfixations in her everyday life, like for real lol. i still struggle with it, but i've gotten more open about it because of her.
and finally, what does fandom mean to you? a community of some of my best friends, and the place where i learned that i can actually be a creative person. i'm doing all kinds of fulfilling things with my life because of this space 🥹
tagging @howlinchickhowl @whatwouldmickeydo @gardenerian @gallawitchxx @heymrspatel @whatthebodygraspsnot @you-are-so-much-better-than-that @iansfreckles @squidyyy23 @auds-and-evens @mishervellous @7x10mickey @lalazeewrites and anyone else who wants to play 🖤🖤🖤

Seasonal Opposites | T.J
You and Tyler love different seasons, but the one thing you have in common is that you have each other.
Tyler Joseph x GN!Reader
A/N: i've been pretty absent because of how much I've been working, but i'm reentering my annual Twenty One Pilots hyperfixation. (also, late happy birthday to Tyler)
---- ---- ---- ----
You loved summer. You loved it, the heat to thaw your usually icy body, the many opportunities to have a swim in your pool, the countless midnight icecreams because of said heat. You hated winter and how you always got sick, how you were never warm enough, and the stress that came from the Christmas rush.
Tyler, on the other hand, was very much the opposite. He liked winter, he liked the Christmas time, the snow, his ability to wear many layers without question. It suited him just fine. Summer was too hot, too sweaty, it wasn't good when he performed, and his body was always running on high temp.
With the two of you, however, there was a middle ground. Spring and Autumn. They were neutral months, where the only thing you had to worry about was whether it would an inside or outside day.
“Summer can't be all that bad, Ty,” you hummed one evening, tracing random shapes into your lover’s palm. He shifted every so slightly on the bed to reside on his back, his free arm coming around your waist. You peered up at him from your place on his chest. “There has to be a few things you like.”
Tyler let his eyes wander away from your inquisitive face to the ceiling. The autumn wind blew through your open windows, maintaining the perfect temperature for both your comfort as your bodies remained entangled. Tyler conjured up several prospective answers to your question as he lay silent and unmoving.
“I guess summer’s good for eating ice cream,” he mumbled, and you could feel his urge to shrug through his bland tone. You rolled your eyes. “And I can chill in the pool.”
“Oh, come on, give me something more, Ty,” you urged.
A low hum slipped from his throat. “I guess... I guess it’s good because it means I get to home you close when we’re asleep because you can cool me down.” You let out a soft laugh, but let Tyler continue, noting it for a later comment. “And I like summer because I get to see you so excited about it. And when I get to wake up to a noise, only to find you inhaling half the tub of ice cream as a midnight snack on hot nights.”
It was Tyler’s turn to laugh as his mind brought forth the several memories of that exact scenario. You flicked his shoulder, eyes narrowed at the man, and he apologised with a kiss pressed to your forehead.
“So... you like summer because of me?” You finally spoke, eyes curiously watching Tyler as your cheeks darkened with a faint blush.
“Yeah,” he replied. His eyes flicked down to yours, and he gently squeezed your waist. “And what are some things that you like about winter?” Each emphasised word was accompanied by his finger tapping your side.
“I suppose the obvious answer is when I get to cuddle you so you warm me up,” you replied, returning your attention to his hand to continue to draw on the calloused skin. “And all the soft blankets that I can bundle up in.”
“And Christmas?” Tyler queried.
“Only with you,” you responded honestly. “And only when there's just a small group of people. Like last Christmas with just Debbie and Josh coming over for dinner. There’s so many people on tour, that it's nice to just be able to have something small.”
“Fair,” Tyler replied, his eyes trained on your hand and his. "I guess it's the same. I like to have time with my family to celebrate, but I like when it's just the people that are the closest to me."
A pleased hum escaped your mouth. "I also like winter because you're happy," you added. Tyler's lips curled into a grin as his dark eyes flicked your way. “And the first day of winter I get to celebrate you, and that you’re getting old. So, I guess that’s a good start to the worst season.”
“Even though you threw an insult in there, I’ll accept it.” You couldn't help but smile tenderly at Tyler.
And you wondered how the both of you, seemingly polar opposites, could enjoy each other, love each other so deeply. But whatever higher power had curated your match, you were nothing but grateful to them. Tyler was the one thing you loved more than warm summer nights, bathing in the coolness of the pool, or lounging under the air conditioner with a book in your hand.
“You know,” Tyler began, “tomorrow’s my birthday. Are you trying to suck up to me so that I’ll still love you for whatever potentially terrible present you’re going to give?”
Your mouth fell open. “How dare you assume that my gift will be terrible! I give great gifts!”
Tyler could only laugh. He didn’t respond, but pressed a kiss to your head, and pulled you closer to him by your waist. You let out a defeated huff, and decided to place a pin in it for next time.

"About the Blogger" Meme by @razielim
Haven't seen one of these in forever; I'm being the change I want to see. (You're encouraged to adapt/remove questions or add new ones to better suit yourself.)
Favorite Pseud: Cosmic is the new hotness but my indecisive ass has had a billion! Alas-poor-yorick! is an old one I'm still fond of because my child self really went and saw Hamlet and thought: "YES! THE SKULL OF THE DEAD JESTER! THAT'S WHO I WANNA BE!"
Time Zone: GMT
Star Sign(s): the one that's a COSMIC RAM! 🐏🌠✨
Favorite Holidays: every holiday is always tinged with just a tad of existential dread, a pang reminding me of the time that's already gone by, that I'm one day closer to death , I guess the ones during Spring and Summer, just because of the weather and that the days are longer
Last Meal: Soup and a piece of bread with olive oil (and olives)
Current Favorite Musician: my dear friend who plays the piano^^ (whom I hope never finds out about this blog and reads this or I'll never hear the end of it). Not sure if current, but I've listened to a lot of it regularly so, shout-out to Jordi Savall and his Hespèrion XXI group *gnaws on their many variations of the spanish Folías*
Last Music Listened To: Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Is In) · Kenny Rogers & The First Edition
Last Movie Watched: Saw X and The Lobster
Last TV Show Watched: The Bear
Last Book/Fic Finished: Can't remember what was the last book so I'm going with: One of only two in existence A Field In England fics on AO3 😳
Last Book/Fic Abandoned: Kafka's The Trial (not abandoned, I just wanted to finish the ones I had started first before continuing because I know this one's gonna hurt for sure)
Currently Reading: Solaris by Stanisław Lem
Books/Shows/Movies/etc. You Want to Get Around To: For Films I have some listed on this ask. For books I got some Strugatskys to get to, some Terry Pratchett, some Kafka, some Horus Heresy, my sister got me Foundation *looks at bookshelf and ignores the dozens of others that have been sitting there for years, waiting for me*
Last Thing Researched for Art/Writing/Hyperfixation: Wild boars! Boarzinhos if you will.
Last Eureka, Breakthrough, or Neat Fact/Concept Learned: Have learned nothing and remain a fool.
Favorite Online Fandom Memory: I don't think I've ever been in a Fandom™ per se. It's usually just, sitting in my dark lair and enjoying a thing with a handful of other people. But, if it counts since it's the closest to interacting with Fandom I've had: these past (4?) years on tumblr in general. From the months-long (sometimes years-long) discussions about this or that piece of media and the insightful observations traded, the juicy meta, the joy and privilege of people sending you unfinished pieces of their art and writing through DMs (the trust and intimacy of it all!!!), sending each other memes and posts we think the other might enjoy, the nice messages, etc... all of it really.
Favorite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence: Am baby and haven't really experienced this yet.
Favorite Thing You Enjoy That Never Had an Active or Big "Fandom" but You Wish It Did: I literally can't choose because almost everything I love is some flavour of weird-ass-obscure thing! But uhmmm, *flips through enormous tome of interests* : Here! Rule of Rose ! I was starving for psychological horror games after the Silent Hill series and this is the closest I've ever seen to them while also not being just a rip off/clone of SH, and telling its own beautifully tragic story (the combat is broken and there's other issues but everything else, maaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnn).
Tempting Project You're Trying to Rein In/Don't Have Time For: I will draw Rumata and Budach's Conversation™ from chapter 8 in full, in comic form, skill to pull it off and do it justice or not, EVEN IF IT KILLS ME!
Tempting Project You're 100% Going to Undertake: It involves sandcastles and the joys of creation... but it needs to *gasp!* actually be written and not just daydreamed about.
Tagging: AAAAAA I DUNNO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO!

I haven’t seen The Black Phone, but I’m really enjoying the content I see about it from other people. I loved your headcanons, especially the ones about Vance! Absolutely no pressure, but do you have any other headcanons you’d care to share?
I don't have a ton yet since my brain has hyperfixated on Vance the most and I've already posted most of the ones I have for him, but I do have some for group dynamics (and a few random ones thrown in there as I remember them);
Robin and Vance are really protective of each other (and the whole group, but in a very different way) in the sense that they have a 'ill watch your back if you watch mine' type of way. like Robin can break up a pack of bullies bothering any of the other boys without fear if being out numbered because he knows Vance has his back if he needs help. and Vance doesn't have to worry about shutting down or being in public places (he has a shit ton of PTSD from the grabber and hates public spaces/being touched/having strangers behind him) because he knows robin will always be right behind him, and will always watch his back without fail. they may not be the closest friends in the traditional sense, but they're insanely protective and you normally don't see one without the other.
Finney is the mom of the group, and he acts like he hates it, but it's actually a very self appointed role. (this is about to get so projecty it's not even funny). Finney gets anxious when he's not in control of a situation, so he acts like a mom for his own sanity. when they're out in public he's the one doing a head count every five seconds and corralling everyone together. if the groups taking to long to move on from one spot and some of the boys are starting to wander he will walk laps around the whole group to keep them together. the best way to describe him is a herding dog (specifically a collie) cause he naturally likes to keep things in order and gets really anxious if he can't. he definitely has a bag purse that he carries everywhere, it's got everyone's shit in it, a fully stocked first aid kit, water, snacks you name it he's got it.
random one (related to Finney's bag) Vance, Griffin, and Billy are asthmatic. griffins is the most persistent, but mildest in terms of actual symptoms. Vance doesn't have symptoms often but his attacks are really bad. Billy is the sweet spot between the two. Finney makes sure they always have their inhalers. Vance also has a bad nut allergy, so Finney's also carrying his epi pen. (I might do a whole other post on just my health issue hc's, cause ad a chronically I'll person I have so many)
Vance is Griffin's big brother, he's a jerk to him some days, other days he's super affectionate. sometimes he just throws something at him for the sake of throwing something at him, and other times hell just hug him from behind and won't let go till griffins clawing his way out of the embrace. they aren't the cutesy over played brother dynamic, they are the realistic love hate relationship brother dynamic and I live that for them. (this can also be read: Vance feels such an immense need to protect this little human it honest to God overwhelms him because he has never felt so much love and affection for a singular human in his entire life. the hold this kid has him scares him more the he'd like to admit. he would die for Griffin without a second thought, if anything were to ever happen to him, you better pray to any and all gods you know of because Vance will make you regret being born. he doesn't know how to act around Griffin because he isn't good at showing your average everyday feelings let alone these big scary all consuming feelings.)
Gwen is the group's sister, they've claimed her as theirs, no matter how many times Finney tries to say that she's his sister. she just loves her entourage of boys, especially since she has them wrapped around her finger. she can get away with anything cause they either let her do it, or they cover her and give her alibis. her and Bruce love to do spa days together (I got part of this from @ares-da-god ) and she will assist in holding the boys down so Bruce can do their skin care. Vance is actually super protective of her and is kinda just putty in her hands, he doesn't try and fight back because he doesn't want to accidentally hurt or scare her with his underestimation of his own strength (she's tussled with him before, but it always makes him nervous, despite how many times shes said it's fine and that she handle it). she likes getting her hands dirty so she's always outside with Griffin, making med pies or playing with bugs, just being kids (it melts Vance, he likes seeing the kids getting to be kids together, especially his kids). Gwen and Billy shit talk together constantly, they'll just walk around town with Billy's dog talking about all the recent drama, or complaining about whatevers on their mind. Finney and Gwen are just super close, they're each other's right hand man, they do everything together, they barely even fight or anything, just very close but very casual sibling bond.
Billy is generally the most kept to himself. he likes to be independent and enjoys his space, but at the end of the day he loves knowing he has a support system he can fall back on when needed. like he would gladly do his own thing all day just to come home and join the pile of sleeping boys+Gwen knowing he is safe and welcome right there. definitely a bif of s prankster when he's sticking with the group, intentionally getting on Vance's nerves to get Vance to prank him back. he's like a year round secret Santa, he earns quite a bit from being a paper boy (and I hc that he doesn't similar things in his spare time. he bags groceries or shops for the elderly, he collects recycling, walks dogs, etc. so he always has a fair but of spare change) so the busy will find little unmarked gifts randomly and know it's from Billy. he's actually really good at it cause he listens to their conversations a lot so he knows just what to get them.
Vance and Finney are actually pretty close. Vance tries to pretend he doesn't love the little fucker, but whenever he needs help or is stressed he knows he can turn to Finney, and he makes sure Finney knows the same goes for him. Finney's the best at interpreting his nonverbal communication, so there's a lot of trust that's been built between the two. Finney is also just really good at handling Vance when he's upset and can't understand his emotions, he can just kinda hold onto him and make it feel better, he pats at his hair and hushes him gently, and it doesn't make Vance feel small or pitied. and Vance may not be good with the emotions crap like finney is but he's really good at reading Finney and knows when to pull him away if he's getting to stressed or anxious. he also knows that Finney won't leave a task without a fight so he'll just bear hug him until he starts to calm down, and then redirects him with something else. they manage each other really really well.
that's all I have for now, hope you enjoyed <3 (:

[Long, Tw food (in depth descriptions), brief references to unnamed heavenly beings of no specified religion, brief reference to hell. Not really any angst. Just good Dadza.]
[Hurt/comfort my beloved]
Me: i can't write
Also me: writes an entire fic by accident while telling my friend about an idea I had
(I'm gonna need this ask back at some point so don't keep it too long, okay? But make sure to take care of yourself (unlike Techno sksksks))
(How many words is this) (Cenn I've been writing this for like 3-4 hours. I've been hyperfixating on this)
-@2ble
I had this really cute idea where Techno gets sick after doomsday and Dadza takes care of him (for an animatic, or? How should i draw techno?)
Phil's Dadza side kicks in. He gently pushes Techno, who is in full garb back into bed. "Techno, you're sick. You can't go."
"But I haven't streamed in 2 weeks!"
"Rest."
Techno turns on his side in bed. Dadza gently pulls the blankets up and tucks them around Techno. Techno begins to cough, and the coughs rack his body. Dadza's expression is soft and concerned. He rubs his hand on Techno's back until he stops coughing. Techno closes his eyes. He's exhausted.
Dadza takes Techno's crown and places it on the bedside table.
He observes his ill friend. Techno is nothing like what he was up until Doomsday. He seemed--weak. Vulnerable. Sick.
"Have you had anything to eat, Techno?"
Techno doesn't open his eyes. He shakes his head. "I ran out of food a few days ago. I meant to get more but..." Techno doesn't want to admit that he couldn't get downstairs. He doesn't want to admit to weakness, to vulnerability. But everytime he thought of searching through chests, of trading with the villagers, they just seemed so far away.
Phil noticed a tear leaking out from Techno's eyelid. If he brushed it away, Techno would feel worse about his state because it would mean he was in fact vulnerable.
"I'll make you some stew."
Phil goes downstairs and tends to the fireplace. The fire seemed to have gone out sometime between now and the last time Phil checked on Techno.
How long has the house been this cold?
Phil builds up the fire and puts a cauldron over it. He makes mushroom stew because he doesn't know if techno can stomach rabbit stew.
When it's ready, he ladels it into a bowl and climbs the ladder.
Hanging off the ladder by one hand, he calls out. "Techno, stew's ready."
Techno's eyes flutter open. He sees his friend holding out a bowl of food and his eyes widen.
Phil notices that Techno is sweating and the blanket strewn to the side, only covering his feet.
"Are you too hot mate?" he asks.
Techno is broiling but he can't summon the strength to take off his outer clothes. His body refuses.
He's more focused on food. He's starving, and his body uses up what little resources it has left to sweat.
Phil walks over and puts the stew on the table. The heavenly aroma fills the room.
"Let's get this coat off of you." Phil reaches around Techno and unclasps the chain on his neck. He gently pulls the coat off of Techno's arm but he's still laying on it.
"Techno," Phil says.
"Whaaat," Techno drawls.
"You got to let me get this coat off ya mate."
Techno lets out a deep groan, then turns over on his stomach so his other arm is towards Phil.
Phil reaches under techno and grasps the coat. He pulls it out from under Techno and off his arm. The sleeve turns inside out. Phil fixes the sleeve and hangs up the coat.
Techno's shirt is drenched in sweat. He rolls over and starts fidddling with the button closest to his throat, looking up at Phil.
"Here, I'll get that for you." Phil undoes the button. He can't imagine how tired techno must've been after Doomsday, that he just collapsed in bed fully clothed, not even bothering to loosen them.
At least he took off his armor. Sh-t's heavy, he thinks. Phil ignores the fact that after the adrenaline and excitement wore off, the sore and tired Technoblade probably couldn't move with it on.
Phil pulls the blanket off the bed entirely, folds it, and places it on the table next to the stew. He pulls off Techno's shoes and socks and puts them near his coat.
They were also drenched with sweat, not to mention the smell--but it doesn't bother Phil all that much. He's smelled worse. He's frowns at the imprints on Techno's legs from the socks.
Phil loosens the rest of Techno's clothes. Techno seemed to were his tightest, least comfortable, most regal outfit to Doomsday.
Lucky for them both most of that was just accesories and pins, and Phil could easily remove those.
While Phil was doing this, Techno had been lying on his back, eyes closed. Though Techno tended to be stone-faced, Phil noticed the relief on Techno's face.
"How you feelin', Techno?"
"Philzaaa,"
"Yeah?"
Techno opens his eyes halfway, just enough to see Philza and the bottom of the bed.
"Do you have water?"
Phil procures a water bucket from his bag. "Thirsty mate?"
Techno looks at the water bucket and a small smile creeps over his face.
Phil smiles at his friend. He moves to the head of the bed and looped his arm and tattered wing around Techno and sits him up.
He holds the bucket up to Techno's mouth and tips it to his lips. Techno sips gratefully as the cool liquid pours over his hot, dry mouth and down his throat, cooling him from the inside.
"You've lost quite a bit of fluid, mate."
Techno lets some of the cold water slip out the sides of his mouth and drip down his face. His skin is boiling. The water dropelts running down his skin feel like heavenly beings allowing drops of mercy to fall upon him in the pit of hell.
Techno pulls back briefly to swallow and catch his breath and Phil rights the bucket. Techno leans in again for more water.
After drinking his fill, Techno leans back and wipes his mouth with his arm.
"All done, Techno?"
Techno swings his arms up knocks the bucket out of Phil's hand, dumping it on his head. The gush of water cools Techno, drenches the bed, and spills all over the room. Phil can't help but laugh. He picks up the bucket and scoops up the water source. He puts the bucket back in his bag.
"Had enough of the water?"
"Philza--I gotta be honest with you, Philza I haven't felt this good in weeks."
Phil laughs again even louder. The two friends are now in a good mood.
"Well now your stew is probably cold too." Phil tastes it. "Actually it's a bit warm still. Not too hot, either."
Techno scoots towards the wall and leans on it. He reaches for the bowl.
"Oh, no you don't."
"Phil, I'm a grown man-pig. I can hold a bowl."
"Maybe on a good day, Techno, but three minutes ago you couldn't sit up by yourself. No offense mate, but I don't think your arms have enough stamina right now. Now come on and eat."
Phil lifts the bowl to Techno's lips and lets him sip at his own pace. He pulls it back.
"How does it taste?"
"Pretty good but could maybe use a little salt."
"Eh, you probably need electrolytes as well after sweating through your clothes and drinking all that water."
Phil put the bowl on the downstairs counter.
Phil found salt in the downstairs chest and stirred it into the cauldron.
He heard the bowl fall to the floor behind him. It fell facedown and spilt on the floor.
Phil swore quietly.
He got a new bowl and more stew from the cauldron.
"How is it?" Techno inquired.
"Try for yourself," Phil said. He smiled as he held the bowl to Techno.
Techno looked at the bowl, then up at Phil. He took a sip.
Techno pulled back and looked at the bowl.
Phil thought he may have tainted the stew somehow. "Is it bad?" he started to say.
But he didn't quite get out anything after "Is" because Techno cut him off.
"It's delicious." Techno looked up at his friend. "Philza Minecraft, you should be a chef. This is the most wonderful thing I've ever tasted."
Phil chuckled. "All I did was add salt, what ya mean?"
"Phil, you have to sell this stew to the rest of the SMP. We could get rich!"
"Techno, I think the sickness may have gotten to your head a bit."
"Phil, I've never been more serious about anything in my entire life. We could be the the most powerful people on the server!"
"We already are. We just blew up a country. Down to bedrock."
"But we could get even more rich and powerful!"
"Well I'll be happy to listen after you eat. And rest. And bathe."
"I don't need to bathe."
"You're not getting out of it. You reek, mate."
"You can't judge me by the smell!"
"I'm not worried about the smell so much as what the smell tells me about your body. I don't know when the last time you washed was but it was definitely before Doomsday and I can't have you laying in your own sweat and filth for much longer. It's sh-t for your health, Techno."
"Philza--"
"Please just eat, Techno."
Techno leaned his head forward slightly and Phil pressed the bowl to Techno's lips.
Techno closed his eyes and savored the flavors. They were so pleasant, so soothing, so comforting. They reminded him of a time when he was safe and there was no betrayal. No war. No need for violence and bloodshed and destruction.
Phil, being a good Dadza friend, made sure that Techno ate an entire bowl. He brought Techno another bowl upon his request, of which he ate half, then left the other half bowl on the table in case Techno got hungry later.
After changing Techno's bed to clean, dry sheets and tucking his friend back into bed, he went downstairs to clean up the spill. He told Techno he would be back at sunrise to check on him. Though he might come earlier just in case. Sunrise was just the latest. Phil had decided that since Techno had gotten through the brunt of his hibernation and was now waking up sick, he should check on him at least twice a day.
Phil scrubbed the dried stew off the floor. He wondered what could've made Techno love it so much. Mere salt couldn't have made it so delicious, could it?
Phil finished cleaning the floor and the bowl and put everything away. As he was about to leave, he stopped. Eyes locked on the cauldron. There was something about it.
I can't leave that there, he reasoned. It will go to waste. If Techno like it, I can't let it waste or burn. I should freeze it outside.
Phil took out a bowl and knelt in front of the fire place. He scoop up big, full ladels into his bowl. Could it be that the soup was really that much better with something as basic as salt?
Phil dipped his finger in the bowl and sucked the stew off of it. He was instantly transported to his childhood. His mind played out feelings of safety, of healing, of comfort, of rest.
He heard his family laughing, remembered learning how to fly, the first time he soared high, feeling the wind beneath his wings. He remembered when Wilbur was born, holding the tiny baby in his arms, filled with love. "I'll always protect you. I'll always be there for you." When he met Techno, when he built the bee farm, and so on.
Phil was moved to tears. He felt loved. He felt like someone loved him no matter his flaws, his mistakes. Phil cried.
It was not out of pain but rather emotion. He wiped away his tears and drank the rest of the stew in his bowl, but it only caused more tears to stream down his face.
Techno was right.
Outside, watching through the window was the one who made the soup what it was. It wasn't Phil's salt.
He stood on his hind legs, paws pressed against the wall of the house.
He had been listening to the two friends talk, had been watching protectively as the wind ruffled his thick white fur.
He was Technoblade's guardian.
Soon he would be called Steve.
2ble this is literally amazing hello????

〜〜〜〜〜〜
"Cole, we have visitors!"
Cole looked up from the map and met Kataru's eyes. "Is it the People of the Great Lake? I just got back from there-"
"No, actually." Kataru shook his head, shooting his sister a quick nod, and Cole, a knowing smile. "They say they are from Ninjago, just as you are-!"
Cole gasped. After all these years-?
He was running down the hall before he could fully process what he was doing.
Tunnels and friends alike blurred past as Cole struggled to keep his feet on the ground. He absently returned their greetings with quick waves, but his focus was clearly elsewhere.
It couldn't possibly be-
But if it wasn't-
It had to-
Cole skidded out into the entryway with wide eyes.
Kai and Jay and Nya and Lloyd all looked up from their tense conversation, smiles starting to grow on their faces-
-and Cole charged into Kai, the closest to him, tackling him into a hug and burying his face in Kai's shoulder. "You're actually here-!"
"COLE!"
The other three leapt into the hug, Kai swinging them all around for a moment before setting them down.
Cole eventually worked his way free, rubbing madly at his eyes. "It's…it's been so long, I was starting to worry!"
"Long?" Jay asked. "It hasn't even been a day."
Cole grimaced. "I was afraid of that. Zane said he was zapped here just a few seconds after me, but he didn't arrive until several minutes after I did. Time has to flow differently here…"
Nya swallowed. "How long, Cole? How long have you been stuck here?"
"…decades." His answer was barely audible. "I've been lost here for decades."
"Oh, Cole…" Lloyd pulled him into another hug, one without the manic energy of a few moments prior.
After a moment more, Kai asked, "You mentioned Zane. Is he here?"
Cole shook his head, and there was a weariness there they hadn't seen before. "Not since the first week or so. While I was out doing recon, he plugged himself into the mech to run a diagnostic, and then someone showed up and unplugged him. I only found out when I came back and checked the security footage."
The way Cole had ground out "someone" felt almost out of character, far more venomous than they'd grown to expect from him.
"…we'll find him." Lloyd promised. "Ninja never quit, right?"
"Ninja never quit." Cole nodded with a grin, sniffling a little. He swallowed down the lump in his throat. "Now, c'mon, lemme fill you in on what's happened so far and introduce you to the other rebels. You already know Krag and Kataru…"

game search update #9
Jak X came today which means WE GOT THE FULL PS2 SET NOW AWWWWW YEEEEEAAAAA
I WILL post pictures as soon as I can, though unfortunately that will likely not be for a few days as I am very tired tonight and I have a lot of college stuff to do this week, but I will get a family photo of all the games together soon. It's so surreal to have them physically in front of me and be able to hold them again after so many years.
The Jak X copy is in really good condition too?? Like the case is nearly perfect, not really any scuffing or scratching on the plastic cover sheet sleeve, and the very very bottom of the cover sheet is a bit scuffed from where it poked out of the plastic sleeve but that was easy to tuck back in. One tiny bit of plastic came out when I opened it, and it was part of one of the clicky lock- things that closes up the case, but the other one is still intact so it's fine; otherwise no cracks or loose bits in the case. And even the disc itself is in just about PRISTINE condition. There is honest to goodness not a single scratch on the back. And it came with the manual. This cost me only $9 before shipping and it was in excellent condition.
And for anyone wondering "Ellie why the hell are you posting about this on your self ship blog?", well, the J&D games have taken over my life and my attention for the past year and a half and I've fallen for three different characters across the span of this series, so I'm currently dealing with hyperfixation and brain rot at the same time. These games and the f/os I've gained from them (romantic and platonic) really mean a lot to me and make me happy, and they've all been a big highlight for me during a really tough year. So my little physical game search ended up overlapping with my self ship experience, or maybe my self ship experience ended up overlapping with my game search.
Either way, point is this stuff makes me happy, and having the physical discs for the games in which two of my f/os appear is likely the closest I'll get to being able to tell them/ energetically communicate how much I love them, the closest I can physically be to them in this universe/ dimension/ reality, or the closest I'll get to even having proper merch of them. At least I get to use the cases as display pieces because the cover art for all the games is cool as hell.
