ya know, finding out i have MS and need extensive immunotherapy treatments to manage the damage, all while i made a huge career shift from nursing to teaching, is kinda too much for ya boi right about now lolol

Huge apologies in advance for not posting this on a Friday or even a Saturday. The joke has been completely missed. I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me 😔.

Ah man, melody swap rips. They're always fun, right? Even in the channel's earliest days, we had stuff like SNES Mini Circulation, Earth, Wind & Bombs and Akumajō Lololo expertly showing off their inherent, obvious appeal - leveraging the instrumentation of one track to bring out a whole new vibe to another piece of music through rearrangement. But especially early on, and even nowadays, you'll notice that some games get favored above others for melody swaps. Super Mario 64, the Pokémon series, NES and Game Boy games, Plok! - granted, the reasons for a lot of these are very easily explained, but with games like Plok! in particular the recent emphasis has come from a select few rippers' absolute enthusiasm for the game and the unique soundscape it provides. Tons of Plok! rips are absolutely mindblowing as a result of this passion, and I intend to cover some of these in the future no doubt - but Last Freight-train Night gave me many of those same thoughts upon first listen whilst being from a game I never would've thought would be one befitting for melody swapping.

Again, to clarify: It's perfectly understandable why those aforementioned select games get so many melody swap rips made of them. Pokémon in particular has at once such a nostalgic, distinct yet versatile set of sounds that has allowed for a ton of creativity in how rips are done, with everything from the piano-driven peacefulness of Blue Mareep to the synth-heavy insanity of Light! (Potentialseeker Colress). The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, meanwhile, is a game I only truly associate with two instruments - the pan flute and the violin - and that paired with its relative obscurity compared to other often-ripped games made me understand why all the chips wouldn't be placed on it in particular. Clearly, I was underestimating both the game and first-time ripper mint chip here, as Last Freight-train Night positively blew me away in its arrangement whilst staying absolutely faithful to the sound of the game its taking from. It's pan flutes and strings, yes - but they're leveraged to a far greater degree than I could've ever imagined.

If you presented me with a choice of song to use in a melody swap for Spirit Tracks' Overworld Adventure theme, I wouldn't have been able to give you an answer - yet had I given you one, it would've probably been incredibly far off the mark from what Last Freight-train Night lands at. It's a full arrangement of Katy Perry's Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F), the absolute pop sensation released just two years after Spirit Tracks itself - yes, in other words, this is a PAN FLUTE arrangement of hit song Don't Mine At Night. Like, maybe I'm just easily impressed, maybe I'm just far too attached to Spirit Tracks' sound from playing on its stage in Smash Bros. all too much, but I have to commend Last Freight-train Night just off of its concept alone. But, come on now, you've heard Thwâmpröck Desert - you KNOW that Season 8 has been delivering in far more than just concept alone.

See, the rip isn't just pleasant for its novelty, it feels as if it fully realizes itself in so many small little ways. There's of course the persisting banjo-like backing from the original keeping a playful, plucky adventuring tone, but it's in listening in close that you'll hear something truly special. You guessed it: That chuff-chuff-chuffing sound persisting through the entire track is the sound the player's train makes in Spirit Tracks when moving at the highest speed, whereupon it starts to sync up with the Overworld Adventure theme - in other words, the sound effects are a separate element from the actual music piece, yet Last Freight-train Night goes the extra mile in including it just to make it all feel more...right. The cherry on top of even that is, of course, the sounds of crossing signals fading in and out of the song at various points throughout its runtime. This isn't referencing anything in particular from Last Friday Night, it's a completely original touch by mint chip, but it adds SO much to the listening experience: Pair it with the other two things mentioned in this paragraph, and it starts to feel as if this track is truly taking place within Spirit Tracks itself, a sense of immersion far above what was necessary is conveyed through just these small touches alone. It stimulates the brain in ways I never thought I needed - and in terms of sheer listenability, it all just helps give the arrangement a real sense of tempo, befitting of the dance-able pop song it's an arrangement of.

Season 8 is a lot of things, and I'm still trying to ascertain what to truly make it of four months into its run. But if there's one constant I'm sure of, its that the channel's quality has basically never been higher - rips like Last Freight-train Night are dropping left and right without being part of larger events, as if to just casually remind you of how good of a place the channel is in right now. And having those explosions of quality be attached to games which really haven't seen all too much action on SiIva compared to the big boys, to the channel's "hidden gem" games as it were? Be it back with Plok! in Season 6 or all the countless other examples over the years since, that always just fills me with such joy. Every game is someone's favorite, and every someone has the potential to be a SiIvaGunner contributor - it only takes one person's love for a game to get rips as heartfelt (and seemingly already beloved!) beloved as Last Freight-train Night.

Bg3 epilogue spoilers and thoughts below. I have romanced no one except the Emperor and all companion quests were completed. Orpheus was killed.

First off, I talked to Lae'zel first and foremost expecting to be hated for killing Orpheus but she calls me old friend 😭😭😭. I love you so much, thank you for still liking me!!

Ajdjdjddj she calls herself Zealous, bossy, and insistent and that it's all part of her charm. God she's really making me regret not romancing her.

Character interaction headcannons excluding the Dream Team

Susie and Magolor have many intelligent debates about technology. Susie believes modern technology is better and Magolor argues that ancient technology is better. They never will come to an agreement and the debates are all in good fun.

Prince Fluff is friends with many Waddle Dees. Beyond that, he is unknown to the people of Dreamland.

Daroach and Dark Meta Knight have a whole sworn partners gimmick as well, but only when Daroach is on "solo" missions. Dark Meta Knight does not show up when the rest of the Squeak Squad is around

Susie, Magolor, Marx and Dark Meta Knight all have a "Hey you can't bully him, I'm the only one who can bully him" relationship with Taranza.

Taranza finds Susie, Magolor and Marx a tad too high energy for him, and Dark Meta Knight still reminds him of the mirror, but he enjoys his friends company (even if they drain his social battery)

Ribbon was wary of Waddle Doos because of Waddle Dee?. She knows now that they are fine and never let her bias show.

Marx takes the side of whoever last gave him food. His friends joke his loyalty is only tied to food, yet Marx would stand with his friends if given the opportunity. Opportunity has not arisen yet.

Adeline and Elline are "art rivals". They have (literal) art fights with one another to test their skills when they see one another. They are both highly competitive and hate to lose. It's all in good fun, or so they say.

Gooey vaguely remembers many people in the sense he remembers they are friends, but not many important details. He is just happy to be included.

Ribbon and Elfilin made fast friends with one another, but due to matters in their homeland they barely get to see one another

Besides Magolor, the only other friend the Lor has "talked" to is Taranza, where it soothes him about the loss. Taranza is unaware why he feels happier aboard the Lor, figuring it is just because he is around friends.

Queen Sectonia met with Papi. They keep one another company in the after life. They have met other familiar faces there too, yet the others don't interact with them. Queen Sectonia is back in her orginal form and grows flowers for them both, even if neither of them can enjoy them as they did in life.

Kracko and Whispy Woods are on good terms. During drought, Kracko makes sure Whispy Woods is doing well. They often pass the days away just talking.

Susie has little to no friends who were not once villains themselves

Lololo and Lalala host the Meta-Knights for tea at their castle whenever possible. They are largely unaffected by the happenings in Dreamland and are amused to hear these tales second-hand

Marx has met Papi

Dark Meta Knight likes to help out his friends. He would not be caught dead helping his friends. They will sometimes find rare items that they have been wanting for awhile on their doorsteps, unaware of how it got there.

Ribbon is fine with ChuChu. ChuChu is not fine with Ribbon. ChuChu figures every action of Ribbon's is passive aggressive, while Ribbon doesn't get why they aren't friends.

The Squeak Squad and the Meta-Knights have a friendly rivalry where they each talk up their respective leaders. They all know its in good fun and they respect both leaders.

Marx and Gooey have traveled together across Popstar for long periods of time without issue with one another. They both are a menace to wherever they visit together though, as both of them have a hearty appetite and a knack for mischief.

The citizens of Dreamland (Burning Leo, Chilly, Poppy Bros Jr. Etc.) are all a close knit community, however suffer from mob mentality. They will help one another out, but rumors spread like wildfire.

The Three Mage Sisters flip-flop between "Kirby is our friend(?) and the friends of my friend are also our friends(?)" And "They probably don't want to be friends with us because the whole incident thing". They don't know of any of the others backstory and remain distant, yet polite, acquaintances.

Marx, Taranza and Gooey are slightly closer than the others in their friend group as they are the ones who stay on Popstar the most. However, if they had to name a favorite friend in the friend group, none of them would choose one another.

Rick, Kine and Coo are still wary of anyone who they know has threatened the safety of Dreamland.

3. Fluff's mother was a famous Star Warrior who long ago went missing (and got amnesia) but then met the king of Pacthland, and fell in love with him.

(In this anime) Dedede is introduced to Ripple by a photo Ribbon had of her (the photo was her eating a huge sandwich and eating it very sloppy) I guess the joke is that any normal person would think that picture is unqueen like, but Dedede gains a crush on her instead. (Probably because she wasn't being very royal like and can eat a lot… Just like him) Meanwhile Escargoon is said normal person AND IS DEFINITELY JELLY OF HER BUT DON'T TELL ANYONE ABOUT THAT

5. In the English Dub Queen Ripple has the same voice actress as Jessie from Pokémon (Michele Knotz I think?) Why because Dedede has the same voice as James, so I guess Rocketshipping is also Dederipple now LOL

6. Yin-Yan's backstory is that he (along with his brothers (the Needles)) was created by NeMeEe & was one of the weaker monsters there. Because of this he was bullied by the other monsters, but although his brothers stuck-up for him. One night, Yin-Yarn and his brothers overheard a conversation between NeMeEe employs. The news was that Nightmare was going to kill Yin-Yarn because of him being weak & a puss over. 7. Adeleine is introduced early in the anime. The episode/2 part is that more monsters were showing up in Cappy Town more than ever before. Which make Kirby, Tiff, Tuff, & Meta Knight more suspicious. I mean didn't they destroy NeMeEe once in for all. On further investigation Tiff finds out that what the monsters are make out of paint. Then by random luck Kirby, Lololo, & Lalala find out that Dedede & Escargoon were keeping a little girl in the castle. Her name was of course Adeleine. Adeleine's backstory is that she & her family are serving ancients of ShiverStar. She had a sister named Chao (The girl from Yuyuki (Yes, she did not originate from Kirby but so did Lololo & Lalala, plus she made a cameo in both the Japanese verison of KDL:2 & KDL:3)) Chao & Adeleine used to be best friends until Chao became a preteen, where she became more into stereotypical teenage girl things like shopping, makeup, boys, & fanfiction etc. Because of this Chao had less and less time to play with Adeleine. Because of this Adeleine ran away, where she ended up on PopStar, where she met the 2. When meeting the 2 she was painting a picture that came to life because she accidently took a magic paintbrush artifact instead of her paint seat. (She got the magic paint brush because her parents were savages.) After hearing Adeleine's backstory, Dedede & Escargoon decided to keep and "help" Adeleine by letting her stay with them in the castle, if she could draw them monster whenever they feel like it. And she agreed to this. Meanwhile in cappy town the Cappies are being captured & interrogated by aliens/ancients (Adeleine's family)

Kirby Abridged Head Canon- Yin-Yarn is called for the most part by his Japanese name (Amiibo Amore). But because this abridged series has a knack for making fun of Amiibo, pretty much everyone thinks that he is one. He gets annoyed by this so much that when first meeting Kirby, Tiff, Tuff, & Fluff he says that his name is Yin-Yarn instead.

Puhaaa!!! 😆 That’s a surprisingly difficult one.. The list is waaaay too long and changing constantly 😅 Plus, I’m an old woman so I’ve been watching/reading stuff for a looooooong time already… So I tend to forget and usually draw blanks when I’m asked to write lists.. pls send help 🤣🙈

Also.. I hope it doesn’t sound weird, but I actually enjoy a lot of media without truly considering myself an active part of “the fandom” 🤔like.. in a sense that I don’t always necessarily feel the urge to interact and/or create fan content, even though I like something a lot. This is even more a thing in particular when it comes to tickle art!! Let’s just say my decision whether I want to create something is very private and individual in a way 🤔 It has to feel right for me if that makes sense.
