Not so polite post begging people to use god damn tone indicators and tags when talking about purgatory events and discussing teams
Not all of us are able to tell when your joking or being lighthearted, or are mad, or are talking about a person in the perspective of their character Just use them, it doesn’t have to be anything big, (joking) or (lighthearted) to let people know

What does the pmdd mean in your tags??
Hi anon,
It’s a great question and something I wish was discussed more.
Tumblr media
I found out about it when I was talking to a friend about how I felt suicidal when I went through PMS. Only during PMS. I felt like I was in a darkness and that nothing would ever get better (thank you lack of emotional permanence for heightening that). Everything felt so crushingly wrong that I felt suicidal. I didn’t know how to describe it except that I felt crushed in darkness.
She pointed out to me that while mood swings are normal and some down feelings, the extent of mine were not. I’d always thought they were because of how little PMS stuff is talked about other than “oh, bad mood. Must be PMS, huh?”
I talked to my doctor and he agreed that it sounds like I have PMDD. There are more symptoms than what I described that led me to look into it. But I do encourage you to look into it if you feel the severity of the moods before like I did. There are birth controls that show more promise in treating it. There is no guarantee and there is always risk but it’s worth looking into.
(I can’t take the birth control most recommended (Yaz) due to my other conditions and the risk of side effects being too great for me. So my doctor has been trying to find a birth control to stop my period.)

The thing no one talks about when it comes to recovering from abuse is that we become familiar to the pattern and often end up being abused by multiple people, in different, distinct ways, and then you start getting better, find yourself in a better place, and you start realizing you can cut off those people, free yourself from their shit, bit by bit, and it feels great! It feels like progress!
But you keep finding more and more, because you were easy prey, the sharks could smell the blood in the water, and you cut off more and more, and it's great, sure. Progress, probably.
But at some point you look back and at yourself and all the places you've gouged out poisoned, rotten bits, all the holes you cut out to contain the damage, neutralize the spread, and you think: at what point are they going to think it's too much, just too much, throw it all out, there's nothing worth salvaging here?
At what point you give up?
And you know you shouldn't. You know it's probably not true, it's just how it feels. But it's fine. It's part of the process.
Maybe?
Everyone wants you to be done, to get yourself together, to be normal.
So much of abuse recovery is allowing yourself the time to grieve everything you never had a chance to be, everything you had to give up, at no real fault of your own, for the sake of getting better.
It's hard, is what I'm trying to say.
It's hard and people are cruel and infinitely meanspirited.

i cannot stress this enough: if your reasoning for clowning on the mcu is "they overwork their cg artists and animators" i 1000% guarantee that a show or movie you have been stanning for years also abused their artists and you just haven't heard about it because the production companies aren't in the spotlight like mcu productions are. that cartoon for kids? that incredibly animated movie? that non-marvel superhero movie? i've seen people declare their hatred for the way the mcu treats their workers and then turn around and gush about a show that i know for a fact was hell for the artists attached
and no this is NOT me saying "this means you should stop hating on the mcu uwu" it's me saying you gotta be aware that this shit is an INDUSTRY WIDE PROBLEM. you CANNOT "fix" it by refusing to watch mcu movies and feeling good about it. you have to be aware that it's EVERYWHERE. why do you think so many animation and vfx productions are sourced in canada? in india and the phillipines? we are not unionized.
i know it's hard to face the idea that your favourite show might have been made unethically especially when you've spent so much time hating the mcu for doing the same thing. you don't have to start hating your favourite show. just like...be aware. don't be smarmy about it. don't claim without research that a beautifully animated movie Must mean the animators were not working 16 hour days and weekends. i do think we can fix this 👍 but we can't fix it if 90% of us don't even realize what the problem really is

if yall ever want like serious advice from me about how to solve burnout as a creative it's like...
literally ignore it. stop pushing. go do something else, enjoy your life, fill it with other things, do what brings you joy in the moment if you can.
go to the gym, take a walk to touch grass and look at dogs and smell flowers, cook dinner, watch tv with your friends, talk about your feelings as needed with ppl you trust, take a drive and blast your music, do the chores you need to do, the job hunting slog you need to do, read books that aren't for research, stop cordoning off your brain for The Craft or The Draft or whatever the fuck
forget about the project, stop thinking about it for as long as it takes to be excited again.
fuckin rest, basically

Wanna give a quick shoutout to the federal judge last week who struck down the Arkansas law that tried to outlaw gender-affirming care for minors, not only ruling it unconstitutional, but including 311 statements of fact all going against the gender-affirming care ban in a ruling that was 80 pages long. Especially since these statements make it harder for transphobes to appeal and iirc this is considered precedent.
