the only thing i don't really like about signalis is the really basic anime art style for characters but most of the in-game assets look nice enough that it doesn't matter

#all the art direction besides that is amazing #normal ​in-game it looks like ghost trick but every once in a while they'll have a shot of a characters face and it's like sword art online #my posts #only other thing i could possibly complain about is the combat but like. its survival horror #idk if you can have a survival horror with good combat #you're supposed to run away from enemies! #i got to the first boss which was the only time i've really had a problem so far #but i was able to beat it after looking stuff up #the puzzles are great the world-building and tone are great the switching between 3rd and 1st person is great #it's not super hard so far but the scarce save-points reanimating enemies limited ammo/health and intentionally clunky combat #all make you feel unsafe and on edge #oh and incredibly limited inventory! i don't always like that (i don't like it in re1) but this game does it well. it feels balanced #they really seem to have taken the right lessons from classic survival horror #i can see the silent hill 2 inspiration especially but it's still incredibly different #the $10-20 range really has the best games huh

#Spider #Nhandu Chromatus #I'm extremely relieved hhhh #There was a bit of a scare and I was kinda really stressed out for a solid hour or so afterwards #I love ma to bits but she's not someone who always thinks through her actions very well #So like I said before I knew Baby was in premolt and I fully intended to leave them alone outside of feeding and watering #Well turns out feeding day had to be incredibly postponed! I didn't even get a chance to see them during molt #Which tbh it probably a good thing I wouldn't want to have stressed them out #Unfortunately because of that tho I also didn't have a chance to let ma know that they'd molted and would look weird #She wasn't aware of how spiders look when they're freshly molted so she got worried - normally not a problem #Except that she then proceeds to Pick Up Baby's Enclosure and tilt it to try to get Baby to move to make sure they were still alive #Like! That!! Hhhhhphew I know she didn't know but of all the things she could've done in that moment hahaaa #Spiders do look kinda dead when they're in molt and I guess I should've sat her down to explain or come with her or Literally Anything #But - luckily - Baby was stressed but seems uninjured from the spook #I'm just glad this all happened /after/ the molt because Baby could've straight up died if she'd tried that while they were doing that #Hhhh anyway!! Baby looks to be in good health!! #Still soft as you can see from the red fangs hehe ♥ But an absolute beauty! #That's not a trick of photography either btw :D Those are actually blood-red fangs! I really miss Dragon Age 2.

#I’m not sure I can say it was the best one? technically speaking Origins probably is? but it was the one that I liked the story of most. it #hit me deepest. that messed me up but I also loved it. and it was much better designed for cause and effect #dragon age 2 #inquisition is frustrating because half the time - especially w War Room - you pick as well as you can based on all the info you /have/ at #your disposal and it goes ‘hehe you picked Lelianna’s ‘let’s be cautious and scout first’ ^u^ over Josephine’s ‘let’s ask the nobles if they #can help intel gather’ and Cullen’s ‘let’s send our soldiers to look around’. 300 people died ^u^’ #so if you want good results you either re-load or use a guide bc there’s little sense to it & you’re constantly punished not for really your #own choices but just arbitrarily. I used a guide like 3 times the entirety of DA2. I use them constantly for DAI becuase every time I go ‘im #just gonna play normally : )’ ten minutes later I tell some girl the wardens seem cool & she immediately gets brutally murdered #also they constantly have NPcs there to tell you something and die seconds later and it’s so annoying??? in every other DA game you can heal #and save NPCs you find injured but now they go ‘tell my wife…I’m sorry…’ and die and you have a quest to tell their wife ‘sorry I didn’t #give her one of the 40 health potions I was carrying’ or some idiocy. I have NOT ONCE been able to save by healing an NPC when in every #other game I had MANY chances. no heal even EXISTS as a spell in DAI when it’s a basic skill in every other game??? #also the quests are structured so badly half the time I walk into a house and kill a monster and Varric goes ‘ah the High Beam Killer dead #at last’ and I won’t know what the fuck he’s saying At All but some quest marked Spooky Mansion is marked completed and I gain exp without #ever remotely knowing what the quest was in the first place #in DA2 when I got punished I deserved it. in Act3 the Mages with Grace suspected me of turning them in bc I tricked the Templars instead of #killing Thrask and that made sense. I did pick a slightly less safe outcome to protect him. i absolutely never betrayed them but I did take #a risk that put /them/ at risk and it made sense for her to distrust me. In DAI my friends get killed because I’m Qunari no matter what I do #at the war table before or after and they just give me pointless missions about it so I have the illusion of choice and consequence #DAI is obsessed with Only Bad Outcome quests because the Devs are centrists who think there’s no right answer to fucking anything and it #deeply damages the story structure and the quest load out #(I don’t hate DAI I’m just venting. I enjoy many many parts of it. but some I want to destroy rabidly with a hammer)

Ever since i read this one fma fic about an alchemical natural phenomenon / disaster that happens once every few decades its been on my mind

#Listen to my problems #like every alchemist (person able to conduct alchemy) will start to act strange for a few weeks #then they all start to have strange thoughts and impulses. edward came up with the rubberband trick in order to snap himself out of those #trances. it worked for a while but the slight pain from snapping a rubber band against your wrist cant keep workinf #so mustang turns to straight up snorting cocaine which seems to keep the voices at bay but like i mean ed doesnt approve but if it works it #works ... eventually they all start to gather in an open field .. alchemists from all over the place forming a circle .. #edward handcuffs himself to mustang in an effort to keep him from walking off (at this point his wrist is a mess of red inflamed skin and #blood from using the rubberband so much) he fights mustang (walking steadily but mindlessly) so hard that it dislocates his shoulder and i #cant stop thinking of that description ... the joint of his shoulder sliding out of place with the consistent force ..... #he keeps pulling and eventually ed is dragged along (he fights the whole time but the call is too strong ...) #they find the other alchemists all waiting for their missing leader (its mustang!!!!) theyre lined up in concentric circles and mustang #walks right into the middle of all those circles. edward pulls at his arm theyre still lovked together .. ed is trying to get to his place #but he doesnt make it in time before the ritual starts with mustang right at the centre of it all ... #i dont actually remember the purpose of the ritual but it might have been to channel excess alchemical energy (yeah i realise that that cant #be it) back to the. earth. and after the event ends everyone wakes up without any memory of what happened #mustang being the conduit for all that power comes away from it with periodic fits of epilepsy ... and to him hes always been like this #... nobody remembers what happened ... even the last time this happened all ed was able to find was ancient newspaper articles talking #about their alchemists acting strange .... nobody remembers ......... ....................
