ATTITUDE || 014

well i’ve done it. i changed the cover again and the layout. do any of you remember the old chapter covers??? bruh. HORRIBLE I SAYYY they’re still on my computer!! now do i feel like changing the other ones?...perhaps i’ll come back later and do it..

but cheers! this chapter is really chaotic! i kinda based the whole “anger management” thing off of daniel bryan & kane attending their anger management LMAO. i have also swapped the dates, so the vengeance ppv will be coming after this taping of raw.

CANADA, CANADA, CANADA!!!!! Raw’s being held there tonight, baby! To be specific, Calgary, Alberta. It’s been quite a while since you’ve been over here. The last time you’ve even crossed the border was to visit Niagara Falls!

Raw’s looking pretty good tonight. Especially the match card.

KANE VS. BUBBA RAY DUDLEY

ALBERT VS. TEST

HARDY BOYZ VS. TAJIRI AND SPIKE DUDLEY

CHRIS JERICHO VS. STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN

RVD VS. CHRISTIAN (HARDCORE TITLE)

WILLIAM REGAL VS. BRADSHAW

MR. MCMAHON & KURT ANGLE VS. THE ROCK & TRISH STRATUS.

There were two matches you were interested tonight. The Hardy Boyz’ match and Trish’s match. One because of their opponents (totally not because of Jeff, no way). Tajiri just so happened to be Torrie’s little friend. And wherever he goes, she would be his valet to the ring.

Meanwhile, you have Trish’s match with The Rock, Mr. McMahon, and Kurt Angle. The creative team filled you in on the whole spiel. Vince wanted Trish to join his whole “Kiss My Ass Club”, The Rock came out and saved her, made a match with a stipulation, boom, that’s that.

Luckily for you, she’d be your guest on your talkshow tonight. You could ask her as many questions as you please and that’s just what you’ll do.

Oh! You almost forgot. Jericho and Austin had another match. You’re interested in that too. You weren’t involved in any of the action, but you’d damn sure support your partner as much as you can. Debra had began asking you to accompany him to the ring, thinking it would be a nice way for you two to bond more.

Of course, bonding with violence.

And speaking of bonding time….Debra did not change her mind about anger management. If anything, Austin flipping off Kane and you yelling at Jericho a few nights ago made things worse.

Man, this was not fun.

…..So, here you were. You’re just in this session now. You still couldn’t believe Debra had roped you into this.

But you weren’t alone, oh no.

The camera pans upward on you and Austin. The crowd quickly cheers, happy to see you two. You idly drum your fingers on your knees.

Austin turns to look at you, then swats at your arm. “Quit doin’ that.”

“I’m sorry, I’m nervous.”

The instructor finally finishes flipping through his notes, looking up at the small group in front of him. “Hello, everyone. I’m glad you’re here today. My name is Doctor Smiley. I’m here to bring a smile to your faces.”

To get your attention, Austin makes a ‘psst’ sound. “Tch, Doctor Smiley. Ya’ really think that’s his name?”

You fight the urge to laugh, doing your best to keep a serious face. ”Not at all..”

Doctor Smiley continues. “Why don’t we introduce ourselves? We’ll go around in a circle..how about we start with...?”

...You?

He points at you, making all the heads in the room turn.

“Me? Well, I’m [Name].” You shift in your seat. “I am here because I was recommended to come. Err, I was also hoping I could drop out, actually. I don’t think I need to be here.”

Doctor Smiley shakes his head. “I apologize, [Name]. But there’s a very good reason for you to be here. According to your file, you have a tendency to have prolonged outbursts and significant behavioral problems.” All you can do is stare at him for airing you out like that in front of the group. What the fuck.

You didn’t THINK you had behavior problems, nor did you think that your outburst was that bad. Doctor Smiley continues on. “I want you to get better, to do better, so it is in your best interest you stay with us.”

Ugh, you really couldn’t find a way out of this.

Austin was next up to introduce himself. “Who gives a shit? I just came ‘cause I was forced. All of ya’ know me.”

And it’s true, everyone did know him. But not in a positive light. Most of the individuals here knew how he was. Even though Debra may have said you knew these people, you still felt mildly uncomfortable.

In a circle, each and every person introduces themselves. There’s Bubba Ray, there’s D’von, there’s Raven, there’s RVD (which you didn’t understand), there’s Molly (which you also didn’t understand, the woman was a saint), there’s Rhyno, and to top it all off, even William Regal! Smaller group than you thought, but still made you uneasy nonetheless.

Guess Vince McMahon really took the Alliance thing to heart, he must’ve still been on a power trip. Some people didn’t even need to be here! One day, you’d give that old man a piece of your mind.

“Now,” Doctor Smiley has a smile of his own on his face. “Does anyone have an idea of a healthy way to cope with anger? To give an example, what if you are in an argument with someone and they’ve really grind your gears?”

Austin raises his hand, eager to answer. “Fill their car with cement.”

You raise your hand as well. “Commit arson?”

Raven raises his hand too. “Find out what they care about and proceed to crush it.”

That was so real. You slowly nod your head, agreeing with Raven. “I really like his answer.”

He gives you a small smile, one that’s wrung with mysteriousness. Raven’s always been strange to you, but you’ve heard he’s very intelligent..

Meanwhile, Doctor Smiley can only shake his head in a negative manner. “Not at all.” It was going to be a very long session. “Let me give an answer myself. Take deep breaths. Perhaps explain to the person that you should approach this rationally. This is where we bring in our problem-solving techniques.”

No one says anything. At this point, you figure that the people in here want to be here as much as you do. You cross your legs.

This was boring, but you’ll try your best to stick through it.

“Shall we try a quick exercise?“ Doctor Smiley suggests, standing up from his seat. Perhaps this wouldn’t be as boring as you thought. “I’ve assigned you partners at random. Because this is a group at an odd number, one of you will be with me.”

OH!! NEVERMIND! How exciting!

Not.

“Please do your best to try and get along with them well. RVD will be with Bubba Ray, Regal will be with Stone Cold, D’von will be with Rhyno, [Name] will be with Raven, and finally, Molly will be with me. Everyone partner up and I’ll give further instruction.”

You weren’t mad at all about your partner choice. You did want to speak to Raven more. Everyone goes to their respective partners, some more begrudgingly than others (cough, Austin), and Raven comes over to you.

“Hi.” You greet, waving.

“Good evening.” He’s cordial, which makes you fell less on edge about this whole thing. “[Name], wasn’t it?”

You grin and point two thumbs to yourself. “Yeah! In the flesh.”

“I’ve heard a great amount about you.” But he doesn’t stand in front of you, instead circling you like a predator would do to their pray.

You would turn your head to follow him. “I’d hope it’s good.”

“Of course. Many good things.” He affirms. “You know, they say eyes are the window to your soul. When I look into your eyes,” Raven pauses, finally stopping right in front of you. “I see someone who’s troubled. You’re just like me, [Name]. No one’s ever really liked me. No one’s never understood who I really am.”

You didn’t know what to say at first. Actually, you didn’t know what to say at all. He was right about feeling troubled. And he was right about almost everything else.

He continues on. “My family would try to put me in therapy many times. It never worked. I found my identity in violence. It’s the only ‘therapy’ I’ve ever needed.”

Doctor Smiley looks around and nods. “It seems like we’re all paired up. Today, this is a simple icebreaker. In the next session, we’ll begin a seminar and use critical thinking skills. Think of this as an introduction to your peers. You’ll be seeing them for quite a while. Feel free to begin.”

In the time that your head was turned, you notice Raven’s gone from in front of you. You didn’t even hear his footsteps, nor did you expect his hands to gently sit on your shoulders.

You jump, but he holds you in place. “Relax. You’re feeling tense. I’d like you to just think. Think about yourself. What is your place in the World Wrestling Federation?”

That’s a good question. What is your place exactly? Who are you?

He leans in closer to your ear, whispering low enough just for you to hear.

“There’s no one looking at us. Imagine it’s only me and you in the room. Alone with nothing but our own thoughts and extremity of this world. I extend my hand to you, [Name]. You can find yourself, let me show you. I can show you the beauty of violence. There’s more to this unforgiving life, so I believe you should indulge in your deepest...darkest....”

“You sunnuva’ bitch. The hell are ya’ doing?”

It was almost comical with how you froze, Austin’s voice ringing in your ears, you couldn’t even turn to look back at him until Raven took his hands off your shoulders and moved away.

“Participating in the exercise.” Raven plainly answers.

Austin is definitely not pleased. “I don’t think Doctor Single told ya’ to be handsy with your partner.”

“It’s actually Doctor Smiley.” The instructor corrects. He moves away from Molly to try and diffuse the situation. “Gentleman. We should go about this the right way..”

“You’re right, Doctor Stinkin’. I got an idea.” And then, it all goes to hell. Austin threw a punch at Raven and they began trading blows. You quickly move out of the way as they fall into some of the chairs. Even through all this, the cameras were still rolling.

Molly comes over to you, a smile on her face. “Wow, off to a great start, don’t you think?”

You shoot her an apologetic look. Simply for even being here and having to witness this.

What a way to start the night.

RAW IS WAR // 7:45 PM

You wanted to stop for McDonald’s on the way back to the show, but Austin wasn’t having it. God damn it, you wanted a happy meal. You knew it was a bit childish, but they had these cute little tamagotchi’s that came with it. You just HAD to take care of it! It was also something small to eat, but good enough to give you more energy for tonight’s show.

Debra asked you two how it went and you two could only stare at each other before turning back to her. Like hell you’d be telling her the truth!

You were backstage preparing for your talkshow. The mirror you placed in the hallway showed your beautiful reflection staring right at you. You couldn’t get Raven’s words out of your head, no matter how hard you tried to blank them out. It got to the point where you struggled to put on any makeup.

Suddenly, a light tap on your shoulder made you spin around on your heel, dropping the lip gloss onto the ground.

“Hey, Nitro Girl.” Hunter had a smirk on his face, more than likely because of how startled you were. He was holding something in his hands. Just what was he up to?

“What’re you doing here?! This is the first time I’m seeing you backstage.” You say. Your voice lowered by the end of your sentence, wary of any eavesdroppers nearby.

“I’ll make this quick.” He assured, handing over the neatly wrapped box. It even had a bow on it.

“What’s this?”

“Can’t tell you. Open it as soon as you’re alone, then call me.”

You were baffled. What the hell was in this box? “Why do I have to open it when I’m alone?”

“Trust me,” Hunter roughly pats your shoulder, making you wince. “You’ll definitely want to be alone when opening it. It’s apart of my next plan. By the way, I’ve heard you’ve got a show, good luck.” With that, he leaves you to your confusion, disappearing after walking down the corridor.

Made you think again. Now, your thoughts were all focused on the box. There wasn’t anyone in the hallway. Could you take a peak at it right now? Curiosity killed the cat.

Checking one more time to see if there’s anyone nearby, you nod to yourself. You’re 100% in the clear. You slowly lift open the box and...

Holy shit. NO WAY.

No way he gave you this. You slam the box back shut and retreat into the locker room behind you. You’ve gotta hide this. You can’t let ANYONE see this. No. You’d die before anyone would be able to. You weren’t even sure if you could tell Lita.

Why?

Because who in their right mind would gift their business associate lingerie?

RAW IS WAR TIME OUT WITH [NAME] // 7:58 PM

You were still shaken up about the events from earlier. From Hunter to Raven, to not getting your happy meal. It was too much. You can only hope this night can get a bit better. It’s the Raw before Vengeance though, so you figure anything can happen.

As soon as you went through those curtains, you felt all of your worries fading away, the crowd’s cheering only filling you with glee. Entering the ring with a smile, you wave in all four directions, then walk to the ropes to grab a mic.

Before you speak, you clear your throat. “CALGARY!” You yell at the top of your lungs. “TONIGHT....RAW, IS, [NAMEEE]!!!” Of course, you had to steal Jericho’s shtick, just to rub it in his face. The crowd roars in response. “Scotiabank Saddledome, I’d like to give you a welcome to Time Out with [Name]! Tonight, we have such a special guest. She may not be from this area, but she’s one of your own! She’s...!”

You turn over toward the ramp and outstretch your arm. That familar rift of music echoes around the arena.

“The Women’s Champion, TRISH STRATUS!” You exclaim, turning and opening your arms towards the ramp.

And here she comes, the title draped across her shoulder. She had a big smile on her face as she heads towards the ring. You couldn’t help but give her a round of applause.

As she enters into the ring, you figure it would be a wonderful time to get the show on the road. You quickly walk over to the ropes to grab her a mic. “Trish Stratussss,” You repeat her name, walking over to her and passing it over to her. “Wow! You look beautiful today!”

“Thank you!” She was almost like a lightbulb with how bright her smile was. With her title draped across her shoulder, she takes a seat in one of the chairs.

You follow suit, taking a seat next to her. “Let’s get straight to it. How does it feel to be the Women’s Champion?”

She clears her throat. “Well, it’s a good feeling. I’ve worked hard for this. And as everyone knows, I’ve been through a lot. I think I’ve earned it and I just want to say no one can take this away from me.”

“And good on you!” You chime, lightly hitting her shoulder. “You know, ever since you broke my nose, I knew you had potential.”

Trish laughs nervously. She hadn’t forgotten about that and she still felt pretty bad about it.

“To fall back on being through a lot, I know your match with The Rock,” You pause, hearing the crowd cheer loud for him. “Is anticipated by everyone in this very arena. How do you feel?”

“I’m nervous.” She admits. “This match is a really big deal. If The Rock loses, he’ll have to join Mr. McMahons Kiss My Ass Club! Not to mention what I think he’ll do to me..”

“We’re all on your side, Trish!” You reassure her, getting out of your seat. “Mr. McMahon has been on a power trip for too long. It must run in the family. If you two take him down tonight, it’ll be an embarrassment for that dysfunctional family and a win for all of us. Tonight, not only is The Rock in your corner, but I am as well.”

She stands up out of her seat. “Wait, what’re you saying?”

“I’m saying, let me accompany you two down to the ring tonight. I’ll help you as much as I can.” You reach out your hand for her to shake. “One night only, if Stephanie, or even anyone else for that matter tries to intervene, I’ll be more than happy to deal with them!”

Trish nods. “So be it.” You two shake hands and the deal is sealed. As you two are shaking hands, it’s almost like there’s some unresolved tension. You could be a contender for that title. You could easily take that title away from her if you wanted to.

Alas, this moment is short lived. Torrie’s music starts playing and you rip your hand away from Trish. She complains about you hurting her nails, but you couldn’t care less when Torrie was coming to the ring. She prances down the ramp.

You can’t let her get under your skin. You’ll try and let her talk, despite the fact you want to drag her across this ring. She came prepared with a mic, so you decide to greet her as kind as possible.

“Wow! Torrie Wilson,” You introduce. “The slut of the WWF!” The crowd and the commentary table grimace at your choice of words. Even Trish had to whistle. “Are you coming to ruin my show?”

Torrie can only scoff, which kind of pisses you off. You just wanted to slap that smug smile right off of her face. “Oh, no. I just wanted to drop by and say hello. I know you’ve been looking for me. I’ve been so, so, busy. In fact, me and Edge were together aaaaalll night.”

Wait, what did she say?

“What?” You narrow your eyes. “What’d you say?”

“You didn’t know? Edge was so heartbroken of what you did to him, so I decided to be the one to comfort him. Poor guy, I mean, he cared about you a lot, you know. And the fact you moved on so quickly! I mean, Jeff Hardy? He was all over me at one point. You remember that too, right, Trish?”

The woman was too stunned to speak! Trish blinks. “Excuse me?”

And you were stuck too. You don’t even know what to say. You couldn’t believe Torrie OR EDGE for that matter. “I wasn’t going to engage in any violence that occurred on my show, I really wasn’t. Whether it involved myself or my guest. I literally just took anger management classes..” You trail off, slowly pushing your chair away. “Looks like this is the part of the show where I move these....”

Trish had an idea of what was to come, so she does you the honors of moving her own chair out of the way.

Torrie looks at you in confusion, mic in hand.

“This is also the part of the show where I should probably remind you, please don’t start something you can’t finish...” You mention, turning back to her slowly. “Because I will tear you apart in this very ring.”

Oh, really?” Torrie smugly asks. “Then do it. I dare you.”

Outside of a kayfabe standpoint, this was bringing you joy. You fought the urge to smile at Torrie. The best part about actually being friends outside of the ring was that you could go as crazy as you want and have a spa day later.

“You don’t have to tell me twice.” Throwing your mic to the side, you tackle Torrie, striking her as quick as you can. The crowd gasps, but then cheers at your attack. It’s incredibly satisfying to put your hands on her.

You quickly get off and kick her while she’s down. Trish was looking on in shock before throwing her title to the side and joining in to help you. She’s had problems with Torrie in the past, and originally she was going to leave, but when she brought up their rivalry, it struck chord in her. She kicks her as well, doing her best to keep up with you.

You two were literally jumping her. Referee’s rushed out of gorilla to stop the situation, entering the ring and separating you three from each other. You reach out your hand with a grin and Trish reaches out her own, you two giving a strained high five.

While your music plays in the background, you slowly start to think that this strange night is looking up.

“Kane,I don’t think they can breathe-”,Daniel Bryan said in an attempt to get his tag partner to let go of you,“shut up Daniel!,they’re mine!,I’m cuddling them for as long as I bloody want!”,Daniel just rolls his eyes and he sits his tag title on the ground.

“Why do you just randomly appear in these situations?!”,Daniel asks after he hears the door opens,“Well Daniel,my two patients are having a argument so I have to come and help!”,Dr. Shelby says,“I wouldn’t say it’s an ‘argument’,more so me trying to get this ‘Big Red Freak!’ To let go of our significant other so they can breathe!”,Dr. Shelby thinks for a moment before saying.

“Hey Kane!,Pete Rose is in the hallway if you want to torture him!”,if I told you Kane could smile like a 5 year old would you believe me?…because that’s exactly what he did,Kane kissed your forehead before letting go of you and whispering in your ear,“I’ll be back later baby~”

Instead of the s**tshow that was the AJ Lee love square, I’m just going to pretend that it was Stardust that would constantly show up to distract Kane from his matches with Daniel Bryan as Team Hell No, making advances towards him and even dressing in Kane’s colors to show his unhealthy obsession with him.

Like come on WWE stop trying to push whatever the hell that Straight cluster f**k agenda was with AJ Lee and branch out once in a while.

They should’ve made Star gay like they did Goldie, come on you can just tell he is stop being subtle about it.

I could just imagine Star doing a little mating dance for Kane and him just having his jaw to the floor on how absurd this man is.

Kane doesn’t know what to make of this.

(Just now realized that pentagrams are associated with the devil and pentagrams are stars with religious meaning so Satanic Stardust would actually make sense if he had got with Kane as HellDust)

(Also I hated the AJ storyline that was just awful for everyone involved so I’m just going to pretend it never happened)

Thoughts on AEW World's End

Finally got around to watching this. It was pretty fun.

Zero Hour

Willow Nightingale vs Kris Statlander

It was fun. Willow is one of my favorites in the women's roster of AEW. There weren't any real stakes, which was fine. Having Stokely Hathaway on commentary was definitely a plus, since he's hilarious. It was just great to see two good wrestlers having a good wrestling match. I would have been fine with either of them winning, but I'm glad Willow won.

TNT Title Battle Royal Thing

It was your standard battle royal, really. Had some entertaining moments. I'm a fan of Lance Archer, so it was great seeing him. And Danhausen. I would have liked the final two to be Dino-Kane vs Archer, but it is what it is. Nothing special.

Wheeler Yuta vs Hook (c), FTW Title, FTW Rules

Yuta is absolutely perfect as being this snotty little piece of shit that's clearly good at wrestling, but not as good as he thinks he is. Hook has definitely come a long way in his wrestling since he started. I enjoyed it. I love listening to Taz consistently just sound so damn proud of Hook. It adds so much flavor to the match. Decent match overall. Nothing particularly special, but it was fun watching Yuta get the shit kicked out of him.

World's End

Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Mark Brisco vs Brody King, Jay White, Jay Lethal, Rush

Mark Brisco is one of the most endearing, and one of the silliest, people in AEW. I assume that it was at least partially his request, but it's so sweet (and so sad) that the entrance screens still reference his brother everywhere.

Brody King will always terrify me.

Rush is unfairly cool.

Jay White is one of my favorite wrestlers. I love how he flips between being this cocky asshole to a sniveling piece of shit during matches. I also like how always looks like he's about to collapse after seemingly after match. It adds a lot for me.

I liked this one. It had a lot of people who I'm pretty glad to see on my screens. Having Daddy Magic on commentary is always innerdaining. Genuinely happy to see Garcia actually get the pin, since he's someone who I definitely wanted to get further in the CC. I wouldn't mind seeing him get the ROH Pure title off of Yuta in 2024. Miro vs Andrade el Idolo

Miro and Andrade were two of the reasons I watched Collision. I really enjoyed Andrade's character when he debuted, and Miro is just very good at being an incredibly intense dude who I believe would try to kill God. Andrade's AEW theme is also just one of my favorite wrestling themes.

Since I had read before watching this that Andrade's contact was up, I expected him to lose. The match was decent. They're both good wrestlers, but it wasn't anything that blew me away. Miro winning makes sense, though I still don't fully understand where the Miro/CJ arc is going (I assume I've missed something)

Riho vs Toni Storm (c), AEW Women's World Title

Toni Storm doing this unhinged 1950s, Sunset Boulevard thing has been fantastic. She's great in the ring, too. Solid match with nothing particular exciting going on about it. While Toni did win this one, I would like to see her lose the belt sometime soonish, because I do want to see where they would take the character. If Mercedes shows up in AEW, I wouldn't be opposed to Toni losing to her. But that's also just my bias.

Swerve Strickland vs Dustin Rhodes

I love Swerve. He's absolutely one of my favorite active wrestlers. I've wanted a belt on him for ages. He's also so absurdly popular that I'm pretty sure he could actually kill someone in the ring and the audience would be chanting "WHOSE HOUSE? SWERVE'S HOUSE!" during the murder.

Sucks that Keith Lee couldn't be cleared because of whatever injury has been nagging him since 2022.

For a match with, ultimately, no real build, it was pretty good. Dustin is by no means a bad wrestler-- I was a fan of Goldust back in the da, too. And Swerve is just legitimately great in the ring. Always glad to see Swerve win a match.

Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and Sting vs Ricky Starks, Big Bill, Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs

I'll be honest, outside of listening to Tony Schiavonne do his "IT'S STIIIIIIIIIIIING" I just couldn't care about this match. I just had no investment in it, to the point that can't really remember anything specific about it.

I'm getting kind of tired of the Don Callis family, and honestly just Don Callis in general.

I don't care about Jericho and Callis.

I don't know if it's his choice or not, but I wish that Sammy would actually get away from Jericho and do something independently.

Starks and Bill are fun as a pair. They're cool.

I want to see Takeshita more.

Darby is here for a good time, not a long time.

I will probably be a little sad when Sting retires (although if he un-retires, as wrestlers tend to do, I will also be annoyed).

Abadon vs Julia Hart (c), AEW TBS Title

It was alright. I'm glad to see Abadon finally wrestling more than just on Halloween, and seeing a match that was really just two different types of Spooky fighting each other was kinda fun. The audience was definitely enjoying it. Julia and Abadon have both had better matches. Something seemed off about it. It almost felt kind of sloppy-- one thing that stuck out in particular was Julia messed up her moonsault at the end of the match.

Didn't expect Abadon to win, but it would have been cool if they did.

Adam Copeland vs Christian Cage (c), AEW TNT Title, no DQ

The audience actively detracted from the match for me. One of my least favorite things is when the audience just sits there shouting "WE WANT [X]" for various props in a no DQ/hardcore match. It feels like they don't really care about the match so much as the specific spot that they're wanting.

That said. I liked this. Christian was great, Adam was great. They worked really hard to give you the feeling that they weren't friends anymore. Had a lot of good hardcore wrestling spots. Watching Nick Wayne eat shit because the burning table didn't break was kinda funny. Copeland winning was a nice move.

Christian Cage vs Adam Copeland (c), AEW TNT Title

Dino-Kane, having won the battle royal from Zero Hour, showed up and mauled Copeland. Dino-Kane was about to request his title shot when Christian Cage managed to con the title shot from him. So, Christian signed the contract for the title shot. The match was made official. Bell rings, Christian hits a spear and wins back the TNT title.

lmao.

I appreciate it just for being such a POS move from Christian.

Jon Moxley vs Eddie Kingston (c), Continental Classic finals, NJPW Strong Openweight title, ROH World title, AEW Continental Title

Match of the night, categorically. Mox and Eddie are fantastic. I was absolutely glued to my screen. These dudes know how to put on a good match, and so many matches with Eddie always feel like they have these enormous stakes involved, no matter who insignificant the match actually is. Few people can, or do, get me as invested in their matches as Eddie Kingston does in his.

I loved it. I was so happy to see Eddie actually win it all. And to see Mox and Eddie hug after the match-- not in a shipping way. You do you with that, it's not my cup of scene-- but because I like that Mox and Eddie are seemingly back to being friends.

I don't like to sit and analyze stuff involving Eddie too much, because I feel like it's disrespectful to try to do inside baseball shit to a guy like him and the work he puts into his character.

Samoa Joe vs MJF (c), AEW World Title

MJF is another dude who I don't like to sit and analyze too much, because of his character work and things like that. The commitment MJF and Eddie have to keeping kayfabe is genuinely great, and I have nothing but respect and appreciation for that.

That being said, we gotta do some of that with this.

MJF is, according to myraid reports, like Super Injured and in tons of pain. He's been dealing with stuff for a while.

I think this managed to help the story of the match a long, but it hurt the actual quality of it.

MJF's babyface run lately has felt a lot like an homage to that 1980s-early 1990s babyface archetype. Get beat down, overcome adversity, etc.-- the same kind of thing that Cody Rhodes has done. MJF is also a great babyface because he's very open about a lot of his personal issues, which makes him relatable to be people (part of why people like Hangman Page is the whole "anxious millennial cowboy" thing is very relatable to many). Being injured makes MJF the underdog. Makes you want to rally behind him even more and see him win. Especially against someone like Samoa Joe. Especially on his home turf.

But I can't help but wonder if this match would have been better if MJF had been at 100%. Something about it felt off. I don't know if I was just reading into it too much, or what. Maybe MJF was always going to be injured for the purposes of the match. I have no idea. While I can wonder, it doesn't really do any good.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the match. I'm a fan of Samoa Joe's, and I'm glad to see AEW treating him as this monster of a dude who just wrecks people's shit.

At this point, I just really hope that MJF is able to do whatever he needs to do so that he can recover from all his shit falling apart. Especially with what happens after the match.

Aftermath

After the match, The Devil's henchmen come to the ring and threaten to beat up Adam and MJF-- specifically, threatening to hit them with a chair. MJF trying to convince them to attack him, and not Adam. Adam trying to divert the attack onto him and not MJF. Then the lights go out.

When they come back, Adam is now sitting in the chair that the henchman had been brandishing. The four henchman unmask themselves. It's Wardlow, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, and Roderick Strong.

So, in a move that was legitimately not surprising, but also the only logical move in the narrative-- Adam Cole is The Devil that had been attacking MJF and others. I am absolutely okay with this.

I had been waiting for a while to see how they were going to split up the MJF/Adam Cole team. Adam Cole is one of the most morally reprehensible pieces of shit out there. It's one of his most significant character traits.

I'm legitimately looking forward to seeing where MJF goes from here. His best friend, his only friend, betrayed him and took from him one of the only things he cared about. He trust Adam, and Adam abused that trust. Now he's left with nothing.

When MJF comes back, he will absolutely have the crowd behind him, so I'm hoping they don't decide he should come back and turn heel (like when they kept Rollins as a heel after he returned from his knee exploding several years ago).

There's a lot of places this story could still go, and a lot of them have the potential to be pretty entertaining.

Today I am posting the beginning of the fic of Kaniel. I am not feeling very well, both physically and mentally, so I apologize for not being able to get the finished product out right away🥺

Dream on the bed

(Daniel Bryan x Kane, Kane x Daniel Bryan)

Chapter 1: Worriment, or…

Daniel was forced to shrink quietly in the car, which smelled slightly like a mixture of the stench of death and some smoky perfume. It was no wonder, for in the seat beside him sat two druids, hoods so deeply drawn that no one could see their faces, making sure that no one could touch their masters.

He was by no means caught up in the Deadman's mind games.

One day, while spending a precious holiday given to him by his company with his lover, Kane, he received a short text message on his cell phone. The text had a few typos in it, but when he saw the sender's name and realized that it had been typed by Taker who had just bought a phone, Daniel chuckled lightly as he realized that it had been typed by Taker flicking through the screen.

The problem, however, was the content of the text.

"You've been having some terribly lewd dreams lately...including one where you had sex with young Kane, right?"

...It was all too accurate and illustrative. Daniel had recently spent some time watching old match videos on streaming video sites, and he often watched the ones in which Kane, who had just made his debut, was the main contestant. He didn't dislike his current lover's shape, but his body, which was about 20 years younger than it was now, thrilled Daniel terribly. Not slim overall by any means, but moderately muscular with a good amount of fat, a meaty chest and buttocks, arms so thick they could knock anything over, and a wild bearded face that was never shown from beneath the mask....

Eventually, Daniel continued to gratify himself by secretly wanking over it without Kane's knowledge, and eventually began to fuck the Big Red Machine hard, even in his dreams.

"I'm going to give you what you want, what do you say?"

Before he could reply with a yes or no, another message arrived. Daniel frowned at Taker's overly intrusive behavior, but was greatly annoyed. ... but he quickly flicked the screen and replied, "OK, I'd love to if I could".

A moment later, the air around him turned cold for a moment...and it sounded as if someone had pulled up in front of his front door. Daniel thought, "No way," and opened the door to find a black hearse parked there. The driver's window opens, and Taker, wearing a T-shirt, bandana, and sunglasses, peeks out.

Daniel was puzzled for a moment by the other man's gesture, "Hurry up and get in," when suddenly someone forced him out of the car from behind. Before he knew it, the two druids were inside the house, grabbing Daniel like police officers taking in thieves and leading him to the car.

And so Daniel is now. He was rocking in a doze, not knowing when, where, or why he was being put in a dark car. He was worried that he himself might have been tricked by Taker for the sake of teasing him, and that he might be a victim of his magic or something else. Daniel tried to close his eyes, but his mind was filled with two thoughts: the fear that he might be tricked by Taker for the sake of teasing him, and the unfounded hope that his "wish" might come true.

He was awakened by the sound of brakes and tires scraping gravel.

Taker said, "We're here," and got out, and Daniel also got out as the druids pulled him halfway down.

It was a new looking little house, not sure when it had been built here. Taker went inside first and made his way through the somewhat dusty interior. Daniel ran and somehow managed to follow him inside, while Taker seemed to be heading for the basement.

The door was opened and they entered a cozy room with camera-like equipment and a double bed.

"Don't tell me you're doing this here?"

Daniel's voice quivered with confusion, and Taker replied casually, "Well, yes.

'Now I'm going to make a 'clone' of Kane. I hope it will give you what you want."

With that, Taker pulls a piece of chalk out of his pocket, and quickly draws something that looks like a circle on the shiny new flooring near the bed.

"You're going to sit in it in your underwear, you can't handle your 'clone' without it..."

A clone? At Taker's words, Daniel, terribly suspicious, took off his clothes, put on a pair of boxer shorts, and sat down in the circle. The Undertaker, who dealt in all sorts of magic, was a puzzling man to anyone, but he was fairly certain that he was not the kind of man who would cause his brother grief by making some sort of sacrifice of his own.

The taker stood in front of him and began to chant some kind of incantation as he raised his arm. His eyes glow white, and a bolt of power shoots out from his arm like a bolt of lightning, and it circles Daniel...knocking him unconscious in an instant.

The general reaction to this year's Money in the Bank winners seems to be that Liv Morgan finally got the big push she deserves while Austin Theory is getting a huge push he doesn't deserve. Either way, the assumption is that winning Money in the Bank--or cashing in the contract to win a championship--is a big turning point in a wrestler's career. I'm not so sure.

Liv won the contract ans successfully executed it for a title win the same night. Nikki ASH did the same thing last year, more or less, and is now a total afterthought. The MITB wins for Asuka, Bayley, and Alexa Bliss were basically lateral moves for them. Bayley certainly reached another level in 2019, but that had much more to do with her heel turn and character reinvention, months after cashing in MITB. Of all the women to win MITB, Carmella probably got the most out of it, but looking at where Carmella is today I wouldn't say that push had a lasting impact.

It's the same issue with the men's contract. A lot of big names have won the men's MITB match or cashed in the briefcase. But many (Brock Lesnar, Sheamus, Randy Orton, John Cena, Kane) were already on top or past their peak. Others (Otis, Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin, Damien Sandow, Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio, Jack Swagger, Mr. Kennedy) didn't get much out of it, even if they won a title. I think Big E, the Miz, and Rob Van Dam benefited from their first MITB-assisted title wins, but within a year each of them was back at their original level. Dean Ambrose, CM Punk, and Daniel Bryan all broke through to the tippy-top after winning MITB, but not really because of MITB. The only guy who undeniably used MITB to truly break through to the top and stay there is Edge, way back in 2005-2006.

The fantasy of Money in the Bank is that the person who wins the contract will use it to do an end run around bad booking, win the world title, and become a top star with a long dynasty in the main event scene. That happened with Edge. Since then...people hope it will happen, and WWE acts like it can happen...but it really doesn't.

This is not to say that either Liv or Theory is going to crash and burn. They could both do well, and end up better off than before. But there's no reason to think Liv will automatically reach that Becky/Charlotte level, or that Theory is on course to be the next Roman Reigns, or even the next Drew McIntyre. If either of them ever really does reach the top of the mountain, odds are that MITB probably won't be the catalyst; it'll just be an interesting little side quest along the way.

For sure yeah.

I imagine Cassidy asking to braid Daniels hair whilst Leon asks him for advice on how to annoy uncle hunter and uncle randy.

Him and kane also help the kids prank Taker.

Daniel and shawn also tend to mother hen the kids a bit too much though. So when they are both around Leon and cassidy avoid literally anything that could cause injury. Even simple things like high fiving their other uncles.

Depends on a few things. His mental state, what’s confusing him, and who’s around. A lot of the time, Paul yelled at him when Kane didn’t understand things. Paul called him stupid. A lot of the nurses, orderlies, and doctors over the years weren’t much better. And, of course, Vince and the McMahon family as a whole tend to keep that flame alive. So, Kane got used to pretending he knew what they were talking about. (That had its own downsides, of course, if his pretending didn’t line up with what they actually wanted.) It’s not that he’s unintelligent by any means. He’s actually a pretty smart guy. It’s just that the people who hurt him don’t really care if he follows. They don’t care if he understands. He’s only supposed to obey. He also can’t ask questions early on in his life. It’s not until his thirties that he starts talking again, and prior to that, most people either couldn’t understand him or didn’t care to try. (His brother is a good exception to this. He usually knows what Kane wants to say, so he’ll give advice and explanations whenever.) So he kind of got used to just going with things. He doesn’t have much of a choice.

That doesn’t stop him from giving off some signs of confusion or displeasure, though, if you know what to look for. A big sign is the head tilt - you know the one. The same one puppies do when they’re trying to listen to you. He does that a lot. That’s a pretty neutral sign that he either doesn’t know what’s happening, or is curious about something. Another sign - one that shows discomfort and a bad kind of uncertainty - is when he ducks his head low to get his hair in front of his face, and/or he fiddles with his glove.

As he gets older - and starts speaking again - he’s more likely to ask questions. Of course, that also depends on who he’s with. He’ll ask his brother about whatever he wants (so long as they’re on good terms). Taker spoils him in terms of indulgence, and they both know it even if big brother won’t always admit it. Daniel Bryan is another person Kane will question, because he sees Daniel as someone on the same kind of level as him. Maybe not always in terms of prowess, but in a hierarchical kind of way (I could write a lot about how Kane sees the world, but that’s not what this is for). Inversely, he doesn’t feel safe questioning Paul or Vince. That never ends well for him. They made it very clear that’s not what he’s there for. And then there are similar - but different - cases, like XPac and Kurt. It’s a slightly different kind of abuse, but abuse all the same. Don’t ask questions. Just do what you’re told.

If it’s someone he doesn’t like, but hasn’t been broken down by, he’ll definitely ask, and if you don’t just tell him (eg. making jokes, stalling, etc) he’s likely to get closer and closer to lashing out. Some things just push him too far.

Musical video of the year goes to Hardy & Lainey Wilson - wait in the truck. New artist of the year goes to Jelly Roll (The only competition for him would be Parker McCollum). Album of the year goes to Lainey Wilson - Bell bottom Country. (This should have gone to Luke Combs or Morgan Wallen). Female vocalist of the year goes to Lainey Wilson. She had the most success of any of the female singers this year. Male vocalist of the year goes to Chris Stapleton. This should have gone to Luke Combs or Morgan Wallen. Entertainer of the year goes to Lainey Wilson. This should have gone to Luke Combs or Morgan Wallen.

And that's a wrap for the Show. And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this show a 3 out of 5 stars. There was a lot of people that probably should have won or shouldn't have won as usual. And they don't seem to let as many people perform their songs during their show. Now we need to bounce on to our next award show we will be reviewing. And that will be the 16th Annual Academy of Country Music Honors.

16th Annual Academy of Country Music Honors

This show was hosted by Carly Pearce on Monday September 18th, 2023. The show originally aired on Fox at 8pm EST (Eastern Standard Time). Now the awards and performances will be combined for this.

ACM Lift Every Voice Award goes to Breland. ACM Service Award goes to Charlie Cook. Chris Janson - Good vibes. ACM Spirit Award - Charlie Daniels. Billy Ray with Firerose & Travis Denning - Long haired Country Boy. ACM International Award - Kane Brown. Lee Brice - Like I love Country Music. ACM Artist-Songwriter of the Year goes to Hardy. Bailey Zimmerman - Signed, Sober you. ACM Lifting Lives Award goes to Troy Vollhoffer. Dennis Quaid - Fallen. ACM Icon Award - Mike Dungan. Jordan Davis - Buy dirt with Anne Wilson. ACM Poet's Award - Clint Black. Lady A - A bad goodbye. ACM Poet's Award - Mary Chapin Carpenter. Trisha Yearwood - This shirt. ACM Poet's Award - K.T. Oslin. Brandy Clark - 80's Ladies. ACM Service Award - Bill Mayne. Sara Evans - Born to fly. ACM Songwriter of the Year goes to Ashley Gorley. Carly Pearce & Emily Shackleton - What he didn't do. ACM Icon Award - Tim McGraw. Brett Young - Don't take the girl. Nelly - Over and over. ACM Triple Crown Award - Chris Stapleton. The War and Treaty - Cold. Hailey Whitters - Everything she ain't.

And this show with the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this show a 2.75 out of 5 stars. There were a lot of people who got awards that I don't really know about. But it was a short show to highlight some careers in Country Music. And onto the first ever People's Choice Country Awards.

This is the 1st ever People's Choice Country Awards and this time hosted by Little Big Town (LBT). And this originally aired on Thursday September 28th, 2023 on NBC.

Little Big Town - Boondocks. The Female Artist of the Year goes to Lainey Wilson. She has had a pretty big year Chartwise. Kane Brown - Bury me in Georgia. Carly Pearce - Country Music made me do it. Group/Duo of 2023 goes to Dan + Shay. Could have also gone to Old Dominion or Parmalee. Blake Shelton covering Toby Keith's Who's your daddy? Country Music Icon - Toby Keith. Toby Keith - Don't let the old man in. Hardy - Truck bed. Collaboration song of the 2023 goes to Save me from Jelly Roll featuring Lainey Wilson. This should have gone to Kane Brown & Kaitlyn Brown - Thank God. Social Country Star of 2023 goes to Blake Shelton. Kelsea Ballerini - Over for me or A mountain with a view. Country Champion - Wynonna. Wynonna - I saw the light in your window tonight -> How'd you get to me? Music video of 2023 goes to Hardy featuring Lainey Wilson - wait in the truck. Dan + Shay - Bigger houses. Male Artist of 2023 goes to Jelly Roll. Could have gone to Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, or Kane Brown. Jelly Roll wins New Artist of 2023. And that's a wrap for the first ever People's Choice Country Awards. This one I would give a 2.5 out of 5 stars. This one, they really could have gone without even doing the award show. Daniel was stumbling back to his locker room, holding his right cheek that had a dark and nasty looking bruise forming on it, it was the nastiest bruise he had gotten in all honesty but he did have bruises all over him, none quite as bad as his cheek but there were bruises forming on his arms and chest mainly, he tried his damnedest to get back to his locker room, he was stumbling all over the place because he was shaking kind of badly right now, he eventually stumbled his way into his room, quickly walking over and sitting in a chair, faced against the wall, he cringed and made some pained noises. Everything hurt, it felt like his body was on fire right now, he was in pain… He knew who did it, he remembered the culprits… He just wished he had seen them coming in the long run but before he knew it he was jumped and attacked, he’s lucky he had made it off the ground in all honesty.

…But now there was a problem, how in the world was Daniel to explain to not only his tag team partner but his husband that a certain pair jumped him and caused all this damage, he knew what would happen, he could see it now… He could see the pure fury on his husband’s face right now, sure, that face may have a mask over it but he could tell just based on Kane’s body language alone and of course the look in the other’s eyes over the few years Daniel had learned how to tell when Kane was beginning to get really angry and upset, and he just knew what Kane would do if he found these bruises… And right on cue, much to Daniel’s dismay, he heard the door open, he flinched but kept himself turned toward the corner, he realized that it could have been his attackers or even someone else to hurt him but he heard that familiar voice call out to him, causing him to relax “...Daniel?” That raspy and deep voice echoing throughout the room, another thing, Daniel had been crying a bit as well because of the pain.

He hated crying, he never liked to show weakness, but the pain had gotten to be a bit too much… But he quickly cleared his throat and tried so desperately not to reveal that “Hey Kane, uh, how… How was your day?” …Kane was looking at Daniel, he was confused, he had tilted his head… Why was Daniel turned away from him? Why was he facing the corner? . . . “My day was… Fine… …How about yours?” Daniel spoke up, his voice cracking a little as he spoke this time “Mine was alright…” Kane immediately took two steps forward, looking over Daniel, getting a read on him was impossible unless he turned around but the big red monster knew something was wrong “...Any reason why you’re facing the corner?” Daniel shook his head “N-Nope… Just uh, sitting here, I just… Got back in here…” Kane sighed “...Daniel… What’s wrong?” Bryan huffed “Nothing’s wrong I-” Kane immediately interrupted “Bullshit, you aren’t fine, there’s something wrong… You’re not acting like yourself, and you… You…”

“...You sound like you’ve been crying… I want to know what’s wrong, Daniel, I NEED to know what’s wrong” The other shook his head “No…! I-I said I’m fine! I…” He cringed in pain “Nothing’s wrong, Kane, I s w e a r… I’m fine, I’m just… A little fatigued, that’s all…” Kane still didn’t believe him in the slightest as he walked towards him again “...Daniel…” He began.

“...Why won’t you tell me what’s wrong? …Did I do something wrong?” Daniel immediately spoke up “What? No! Yo-You didn’t do anything, just, look, Kane, please… Please drop it… I-” He could hear Kane closing in now, he could feel the other very close to him and it made him stiffen up which just made the pain worse “...Daniel please? …I want to know so I can help you, I can’t help you if you won’t tell me what’s wrong, you can’t hide it from me, you can’t lie to me… So please, tell me what’s wrong so I can help” At that, Daniel felt tears prick his eyes a little, Kane was rarely ever a guy to see ‘please’ and hearing him sound so desperate, so worried and concerned broke Daniel’s heart… The man sighed “...Fine…” He weakly spoke, he cringed as he began to shift his body, the pain was bad and even if he wanted, he didn’t think he could bandage himself up anyways so if he didn’t tell Kane he’d be sitting in pain all night and not only that but he knew the other wouldn’t drop the subject either.

As Daniel slowly shifted around Kane noticed one thing, he was cringing, he was clearly in pain which already made his worry grow and then when Daniel turned and sat facing him, Kane’s eyes widened behind his mask, his mouth falling agape almost in horror it seemed, now nothing could ever truly scare Kane, he was a monster, he literally called himself The Devil’s Favorite Demon… He prided himself on inflicting pain and suffering, he prided himself on torturing and eviscerating his opponents and while everyone thought that nothing could e v e r truly scare him except MAYBE for his brother, the one thing that truly terrified the big red monster was this… Daniel getting hurt, his partner, his h u s b a n d getting hurt and he wasn’t there to protect him, he could already feel it beginning to eat him up inside, Daniel had gotten hurt and he hadn’t been there to protect him.

Kane raised a rather shaky hand, the first thing he looked at were the bruises and marks over Daniel’s arms but that wasn’t the worst of it, no… When Kane looked up and saw the bruise on his husband’s cheek, immediately there was a fire in his eyes… He then gently raised the gloved hand up and so gingerly placed it on Daniel’s bruised cheek, he felt the other cringe a little, Kane looked over the bruise and stroked it as gently as he could with his thumb, it was always a shock for them both in all honesty with how gentle Kane truly could be, one because Daniel had seen and even experienced firsthand how destructive and violent Kane could be but also for well, Kane himself because he never knew or thought he COULD be gentle… He thumbed the bruise on Daniel’s cheek so delicately before slowly moving down to his arms, his gloved hand gingerly tracing each and everyone of the bruises and marks he had seen.

He looked over every single one of them, looking at the severity of each bruise and mark, the more he looked at those bruises he felt himself getting angrier and angrier by the second, that fire in his eyes never leaving, whoever did this to Daniel, to not only his tag team partner but his lover… They would pay, the more marks and bruises he saw the more hate filled his eyes but not for his husband oh no, never would he harbor such a hatred for him …But for whoever did this? They had better start praying that Kane never found them because if he did they would p a y… Pay the ultimate price… Daniel heard the other’s breathing picking up after he removed his hand from the bruises, Bryan slowly looked down, tears still in his eyes… Kane however carefully placed his gloved hand underneath the other’s chin and slowly lifted it up, the two locked eyes with each other… Kane seeing the tears now that are in the other’s eyes.

That only fueled his rage even more, he knew Daniel hated crying in front of others, Kane was the same way, the two never liked it because they felt like it was showing their weakness… But they knew, neither one of them would judge each other, Bryan would never judge Kane and Kane would never judge Bryan either… Kane’s breathing was a little heavy, he was clenching and unclenching his other hand, Daniel could see the pure hatred and anger forming in the other’s eyes, he said not a word as Kane gently held his chin, the other not speaking for the longest while either, he seemed to be still studying this over, he seemed to be processing this before he finally spoke, Bryan noticing the tone in his voice, he was trying his damnedest not to lose it right here and now, he was trying to hold it together, but he could hear the pure venom as the other spoke, not directed toward him of course but still “...Who?” Was the only word Kane spoke, but Daniel knew what he was asking.

And at this point Bryan knew better than lying but he didn’t necessarily want to tell Kane “I… Kane, please- You don’t need-” The other cut him off “D a n i e l…” He slowly began, still looking the other directly in the eyes “...Darling…” It was rare for the two of them to use pet names or endearing terms, at least like those anyways “Tell me… Who did this to you?” Bryan sighed and averted his gaze “...Cody and Damien…” Kane let out a heavy breath and then gently took his hand away from Daniel’s chin, he stood up immediately and turned, he began to walk “K-Kane wait! D-Don’t! Don’t go-” And then he noticed Kane was walking over to simply pick up a med kit, he then turned back to his husband and walked back over “Why would I go? You’re hurt… I can’t just leave you here…” …Daniel knew the other was holding himself together, all it would take is for one instance or god forbid they showed up right now, it’d only take one instance to set Kane off on a rampage …If he didn’t plan on going on one when he got out of the room.

Daniel was surprised by this, he expected Kane to tear down the door like Jason Voorhees almost in search of those two, but he watched as his husband sat down beside him and immediately began to wrap up his wounds, bandaging them as carefully and gently as he could, Daniel still cringed on some occasions but he was looking at Kane the whole time “...Kane…?” The other only hm’d but Bryan quickly spoke up “...Y-You’re not going to go after them, right?” Kane sighed “...Daniel, they hurt you… They NEED to pay, they NEED to suffer, I WON’T let them get away with this, you know me by now…” And then Kane was putting the last bandage on, carefully placing it on Daniel’s cheek, making sure not to get his beard caught in it and then he closed up the med kit and sat it down but this time Kane didn’t get up like Bryan thought he would, he was clenching and unclenching his fist and his breathing still heavy, but he noticed the other was beginning to rock a bit back and forth, he knew what this meant, his eyes widened as he scooted closer to Kane.

Now sure, Kane’s anger was mostly directed toward Cody and Damien BUT deep down there was anger toward himself, he was so stupid! How could he let this happen?! He wasn’t there to protect Daniel like he had promised to do, he had promised to himself that no matter what he wouldn’t let anything bad happened to Bryan if he could help it, now sure Kane knew he couldn’t be there ALL the time but this could have been prevented, he had just been taking a stroll earlier! Stupid, it was stupid of him to leave the other like that! He knew better! After all…

He remembered a similar thing happening to X-Pac, his former best friend, which he cringed to remember the man now but when they were friends, he remembered his brother and Big Show had beaten him to a bloody pulp, far more severe than Daniel’s injuries he was seeing tonight but he couldn’t help but be reminded of that, he had promised to protect X-Pac as well but failed that night “...I-I’m sorry…” Kane began, again, not usually the type to apologize “...I should have been there… To protect you…” Daniel noticed the rocking was getting more severe and Kane was reaching up to his hair, Bryan immediately grabbed at Kane’s arm, he noticed the other had turned to stare at him, he shook his head “...Don’t… Kane, please… It’s NOT your fault, you can’t always be there to protect me and besides, I… I can handle myself, those two just got the jump on me, I didn’t get a chance to see ‘em coming, if I did I would’ve took them down absolutely”

Kane somewhat chuckled at that, oh leave it to his husband to be oh so confident… “...I’m sure you would’ve” There was a slight bit of sarcasm in there but unfortunately for Kane, Daniel had caught on, he gasped in offense “What, are you saying I’m NOT strong enough to beat those two? I could do it! I could handle them all by myself!” Bryan huffed, he sounded a bit peeved but in all honesty, he was just hoping to calm Kane down and prevent him from tearing his hair out, he gently stroked the other’s arm as he held onto it “...I am going to make them pay for it though, Daniel, you know this… I’m not going to stop until they are battered and broken, and bruised just like you if not w o r s e…” Bryan sighed “...I know I can’t stop you …But for tonight, can you… Please stay here, with me? …And uh I wanna heal and don’t think you’re the ONLY one who wants revenge in this situation” Kane sighed but nodded nonetheless “...I’ll stay with you …I… I don’t know though, what if you go out and get hurt again? Why don’t you just-” Daniel gently grabbed Kane’s face and forced the other to look at him.

“We’ve talked about something like this before… Kane, I’m going out there, dear…” The other somewhat rolled his eyes at that term “Besides, if they hurt you, I would never forgive myself, I don’t want you to get hurt just like you don’t want me to get hurt… I can take care of myself, besides with both of us, I mean what chance DO they stand?” Bryan paused to clear his throat, a grin forming on his face “After all they did sneak up on me… So that should tell you enough” Kane sighed and nodded, looking down at Daniel’s fingers tracing his arm “...Alright, but listen if they set o n e foot back here, you know as well as I do that I won’t HESITATE to rip them apart, regardless if your healed or not” Bryan sighed “...Fine, if they come back here, then you can eviscerate them but for now… Let’s just sit here and relax together…” Kane bit his lip, he looked hesitant

“...I still feel like I should have been here, I should’ve protected you better, it’s just like with a fr- …A f o r m e r friend of mine… I failed to protect him as well” Daniel sighed and let go of Kane’s arm, he then reached up despite his own arms still hurting and gently cupped Kane’s face “...You can’t always be there, Kane, I know this, you know this… You can do your best but you’re not always going to be there to protect me but it’s okay, I don’t hold it against you and I never will, I’m just glad you’re here now, and when I heal… I’ve got a fun little plan already for the team of ‘Rhodes Scholars’...” Daniel made a face “...Such a dumb team name anyway” Kane chuckled at that and then Bryan was gently pulling Kane down to his level.

Best as he could mind you, and then he placed a kiss on the other’s lips, it was admittedly hard even now with the mask but Bryan didn’t feel the need to ask Kane to take his mask off, he knew the other felt uncomfortable with the mask off and so there was no need, Daniel had managed, sure the mask made it awkward but oh well, what wasn’t awkward about the two of them? And Daniel’s fairly certain his beard makes it feel just as awkward for Kane, after a few moments Bryan broke away and for a few minutes the two of them were breathing a little heavily, before Kane chimed in “So… Mind telling me the plan you have?” The other grinned wildly and got closer to his husband’s ear and began to whisper, Kane nodded a few times before suddenly a sinister grin spread across his face as he lifted his head from the other, he stared into the other’s eyes.

“Daniel, I think I might be rubbing off on you a little too much here… That sounds so… So h o r r i b l e… . . . I love it” And with that Bryan was beaming, he lifted his hand to boop Kane’s nose “I mean, maybe I always had a sadistic side to me …Be that as it may, if I did, you made it ten times worse” Kane chuckled again “Well… We all have a monster deep down inside of us” Daniel grinned and he was about to open his mouth before Kane placed his gloved hand over it “...If you make the joke I think you’re going to make I will leave, do n o t…” He gently warned to which Bryan quickly nodded, after that Kane let go of the other’s face and Daniel sat back down more properly, just leaning against the other, he yawned slightly to which Kane sighed “...Get some rest, you’re going to need it… The more you rest the faster you’ll heal…” Daniel nodded “...And the faster we can kick their butts” Kane then nodded at that “Yeah… They're going to s u f f e r when we get our hands on them…” Daniel hummed at this and snuggled slightly closer to Kane who placed an arm around the other.

Daniel definitely felt much more comfortable and safe now then before, he knew that if anybody tried to even open that door Kane would scare them off with a single glare, he had remembered Kane telling him about someone barging in suddenly, he doesn’t know what they wanted to ask but he remembers one glare from the big red machine sent them running out of the room, nearly pissing their pants so he knew he’d be safe, he felt safe around Kane as strange as that sounds to say, he knew the other wouldn’t let nothing bad happen to him just like the other knew if he were to fall asleep with Daniel, well he would never let anything bad happen to Kane either! The difference would be that Bryan is very verbal with threats so there’d be violent whispering and if Kane woke up well that person better run as fast as they can because if he catches them oh they’d be d e a d!

Daniel eventually closed his eyes after yawning a second time, snuggling into the other’s side, Kane always felt so much warmer than anyone else he noticed, it was strange but what about the other WASN’T strange? Daniel found he quite liked strange, especially if it was Kane… “Hey, Kane?” There was a bit of silence before the other finally spoke up “Yes?” Yet another pause before Daniel sighed, it was a sigh of content however this time “...I love you…” Kane took a few moments before finally saying “...I love you too” It felt awkward for Kane to say those words, to be affectionate, to f e e l affection and love, he didn’t figure he’d ever get used to it at least not fully but, as he looked down to Daniel, watching him for a bit, and then finally hearing those soft snores that he always found so cute …He’d be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy it.
