Nine years ago today, Jordan Davis’ life was tragically taken by a stranger at just 17-years-old, following an argument over him and his friends playing music “too loudly” in their car.

Jordan should still be here. Rest in power.

Okay but like I feel JD would be so damn cautious about Izuku and Inko? Like JD is a punk who drives their bike around raring to go. They pull pranks and routinely get into trouble with the police because of their shenanigans.

Getting close to Inko and Izuku is a long slow process. (They still have that one day. The time they had to make the Midoriya’s forget and caused themself to forget to.) Each step of the way they’re scared. Izuku sees them as a role model. Inko a friend.

JD can be a friend but they can’t be a friend who is a good influence. They can’t be a role model. They’re so damn terrified, haunted by memories. (They’re older than anyone but Diego in their group. They saw the rise of Quirks and saw a reflection of their past. They’d stepped in frequently for those with Quirks. Their dad hated it, punished them. They didn’t care. The memories of their childhood were more painful.)

Yet Inko is so kind. She’s caring. They spend hours with her talking. They take her to the movies and they introduce her to music she missed as she was wooed much to young by a to old man. They make her smile.

Inko bakes them cookies and listens to their woes. They never hid how old they are. Mostly. They just admit they have a longevity side effect if their devil Quirk. The standby excuse all supernatural beings use. Inko understands when they go quiet thinking of their mother. She leans against them when they were shaking after scaring away a bully intent on targeting Izuku.

JD is cautious. But they can’t help falling in love over cookies, music and a to curious child.
