Idea(s) for Tekken 9;
Set after the events of 8, Paul and/or Law invite several of the other fighters, primarily the younger competitors, to do some cross-discipline training. The ones who show up are Hwoarang, Asuka, Lili, Steve (possibly more like Leroy or Azucena, but these are the main ones). Asuka wants to improve after being beaten by Feng, Lili is there to bug Asuka mainly, Hwoarang thought Jin would show up, and Steve wants to get more used to fighting other styles.
Reina shows up as well, unexpectedly as no one had seen her after the battle in Yakushima. She keeps up her friendly facade from before. Reina came looking for Jin, but takes a strange interest in Steve. They had all met during the events of 8 but now everyone has a chance to get more acquainted.
After a while Steve gets a feeling of deja vu when he and Reina spar. Reina eventually reveals that she knows him from the Mishima Zaibatsu's Devil Gene project, as she was a test subject like him.
Whereas Steve got out, she did not, yet still survived. Reina is indeed Heihachi's offspring, in the sense that Heihachi's DNA was used to create her. Reina was raised to admire and worship Heihachi, but rarely ever actually interacted with him. While it was believed that they failed to splice the devil gene into her body, Reina still showed great battle prowess and so was allowed to live, being groomed to be a loyal soldier to Heihachi.
Steve was one of Reina's only friends during her early years, and since he escaped she's wanted to get him back, wanting him to join her in her plan to take over the MZ. This is also why she wants Nina to work with her, so she can get Steve and Nina to actually reunite and bond, as a kind of misguided present to Steve.
There's not a lot to go off of for Reina as of now, and I still need to see all character endings, but I could kind of see a need for some kind of family unit and her trying to sort of craft one through taking over the MZ, trying to bring the rest of the Mishima family in (except for Kazuya and Jun, judging from her ending and post battle dualogues).
I can kind of see Reina disliking Asuka simply because of Asuka's Kazama bloodline being able to supress the devil gene and therefore being a threat. I would like to see Reina be Asuka's new rival/nemesis to try to make her more relevant to the main plot, while Lili can be her more casual rival in the way Hwoarang is to Jin.
Hwoarang I'd like to see follow a cause that's greater than just beating his rivals. I'd kind of like to see him and Lili interact, if only because I think they'd have an even greater contrast than her and Asuka. Hwoarang is the kind of street thug that Asuka deals with in her hometown, but actually a really good fighter.
I'd actually really like to see the young blood fighters form a kind of friendly social group; Jin, Xiaoyu, Hwoarang, Steve, Reina, Asuka, and Lili. Throw in Leo and Azucena too since they have some connections. There are plenty of characters in that age range that could fit, but these are the ones I could see together without much pretense.
Jin will be just trying to enjoy some peace and quiet hanging out with Xiaoyu, but he would eventually get dragged into the new conflict. I think Reina would have mixed feelings about Jin, maybe seeing him as a kindred spirit, maybe disappointed he wanted to destroy the devil gene, but she offers him the chance to join her new MZ.
Back to Steve, I'd also want him to finally encounter Anna, maybe when Anna tries to kill Nina. I know a lot of fans want Anna to care for Steve as a way to spite Nina, but I think that Anna would care for Steve because she would see him as family, and Anna seems to be a lonely person in need of some familial affection. It's kind of something Steve wanted from Nina as well.
So familial bonds would be a common theme between Reina and Steve, at least according to my headcanon. Reina adores a father she never actually knew, Steve wanted to know who his blood relatives were, Anna wants a normal family, etc.
Not quite sure how things would really play out; Reina would probably try to do what Heihachi, Kazuya, and Jin before her did by trying to build her own empire and crushing those who stand in her way. There'd be fighting and so forth, people taking sides, etc. Nina would probably join Reina and Steve and Anna could team up to oppose them.
I could see the conflict resolving with Jin and Steve having some kind of heart-to-heart with Reina about living for herself and not what Heihachi would have wanted. Reina is very different from most Midhimas in that she's trying to carry on her father's will rather than tear diwn what he built. They'd have to convince her that it isn't worth it, that Heihachi wouldn't have cared for her either way, that she needs to stop chasing his ghost and decide what she really wants for herself, to be more than just a weapon and to break free of the Mishima's bloody legacy. Asuka can be the one to cleanse Reina of the devil gene. She SHOULD be the one.
I'd like to see Steve sort of passing on the care that Leo's mom Emma showed him, have him realize that Emma would always be more of a mother to him than Nina could. He should treat Leo like a younger sibling. Dunno if Anna can ever forgive Nina for killing her fiancé, but she could find family in Steve and move on with her life in that respect. I'm not opposed to shipping her with Lee, if it's done super playfully, almost in a Morticia and Gomez Adams sort of way.
Anyway, that's some of what I'd like to see in future Tekkens.

Anon from yesterday - You're right. I'm sorry to Mr Kazama for calling him a non-canon rando. He's still a rando, but at least he's canon lol. Also yeah, that rivalry with Feng didn't get any resolution, I think? Aside from an interaction between them in 8. I agree with what you said. For some reason, I always forget Dark Resurrection (non-intentionally) and Tekken 6 (intentionally). I read someone say Asuka might have to go up against Devil Reina in 9, because it seems Jin's story is over. I doubt both things. I think at this point, if Asuka becomes actually relevant, it is because Lili is involved in the plot as well.
Nah. I'm pretty sure Feng and Asuka never got any resolution. Y'know... we could've had them fight in the battlefield instead of Leroy and Feng. I mean, Leroy already played a bigger role earlier in the story when he inspired Jin at the tournament. So... why not give Asuka the feng fight? It would've been much more satisfying to see her finally get her vengeance she chased after 20 years ago. But no... we instead get a rivalry fight between a new(er) character that was set up just last game.
Probs 'cos DR is kinda just an expanded upon Tek5, and it was a PSP game lol. But a lot of ppl still really like it apparently. I've been meaning to play it, but that would only be by means of emulators since I don't own a PSP and FOR SOME REASON out of the PSP Tek games, PlayStation Plus added the watered down version of TEK6.
Yeah... no. If Asuka would've had to go up against Devil Reina, she would've had a more apparent presence in the story to set her up. As Reina was obvious set up for the next story. We also thought the Mishima saga in general was gonna be concluded. I don't think Jin's story is over necessarily. He just finished his arc. It's still possible for him to be around, he just won't have the "I wanna kill my family and myself" thing anymore. And you know... Reina is carrying out Heihachi's goals. Therefore, she'd obvs wanna go after Jin and Kaz (especially the latter.) Her fighting Asuka would just feel random. Plus, the ending implies Kazuya is probs still alive and Jun will save him. It could set up his redemption arc. Therefore, in the next game, he and Jin may team up to defeat Devil Reina. And that'll give Jin a new thing to do; learning to get along with Kazuya.
I mean, as much as I'd LOVE to see Asuka getting a bigger role... I think after we've watched her potential get squashed again, it's safe to say she'll probs never have one, nor will her powers ever be relevant again.

Tekken 4 airport
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can move your attack before the match is started, though you can attack.
There's no hidden off-screen character so when a new character will be released you will see him.
Scitron Digital Content released a 2 CD limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Tekken 4 original sound tracks - SCDC-00181~182) on. The name Dean Earwicker later appeared on the Sony PS2 version as a Tekken Force enemy. A few early pictures of this character actually had the name printed. The character Steve Fox was originally going to be called Dean Earwicker. Tekken 4's 'Airport' stage is heavily reminiscent of the common airport stages from the "The King of Fighters" series. In Tekken 4, this reality made the juggling game difficult but more life-like. In previous games you could create long juggles in which some time the character would get hit even if he is far away from you and in reality you would have missed him. Registering juggles got harder in Tekken 4 due to the extreme reality put into the game. Though it has been put again in "Tekken 5", the latest sequel to the series. it was quiet useful for making your attacks register as counter hits. The supercharge (LP+RP+LK+RK) which existed in previous games has been removed in this game. and then beat him while he's stuck between the wall and the player. Tekken 4s Airport stage is heavily reminiscent of the common airport stages from the 'The King of Fighters' series. i.e: the characters play within a ring-looking stage. In Tekken 4, this reality made the juggling game difficult but more life-like. New to the series is the ring-based play system. The title of this game translates from Japanese as 'Iron Fist 4'.

Tekken 8 Wishlist
So back before Tekken 7 was released, I did a special wallpaper of characters I wanted to see announced for the game! (Take a peak for yourself here! LINK) ANYWAY With rumors that Tekken 8 is in development, i wanted to create a new wishlist of characters I would love to see return in Tekken 8! 1. JUN I feel like Jun is owed a HUGE comeback into the Tekken canon! Our girl has been missing since Tekken 3, with her fate left ambiguous - is she dead? Is she Unknown? If she is alive, then where has she been all this time? If Tekken 8 is gonna be the big showdown between Jin & Kazuya, wouldn't it make sense for Jun to return? Perhaps she would want to save them both? Maybe she will be seen in flashbacks and it will reveal her relationship with Kazuya? Regardless, now would be perfect to see her return to the series!!! 2. ANGEL Angel is in a similar position to Jun, with the exception of Angel being a far more elusive character. What was her role in Tekken 2? What is her relationship to Kazuya? Where has she been all this time? Again, with a final showdown between Kaz & Jin, Angel returning would be a great way to tie up the loose ends in the series. She could even be connected to the Archers of Sirius, as the ultimate force to oppose the Devil. 3. ANNA Anna is my all time favourite character so I NEED her in Tekken 8! Also, her storyline with Nina needs an epic conclusion. Perhaps she could find out Steve is her nephew or she and Nina could even resolve their rivalry? 4. NINA Nina is a safe bet for Tekken 8 - the only female character to have been in every Tekken! 5. ZAFINA Zafina got such an awesome revamp in Tekken 7! Her plot with Azazel and seeking out Jin to destroy the Devil Gene would be interesting to see unfold. She could be a wild card in Tekken 8 - trying to stop the Devil, but also being dangerous due to her Azazel powers. 6. CHRISTIE Poor Christie didn't make it into Tekken 7! Perhaps she could fill the Capoeria role in Tekken 8? Storywise, she could possibly want to stop the world wide warring, maybe taking a heroic role along with other hero characters? Regardless, it would be nice to see her again! 7. MIGUEL Miguel has a big score to settle with Jin - it would be cool to see it resolved somehow! Again, if a bunch of characters join forces, they could form a resistance similar to what Miguel did in Tekken 6. 8. KATARINA Katarina is my favourite newcomer in Tekken 7! She would likely want to find out about Gigas, so maybe she would infiltrate G Corp tower to find out more info. Again, if there is a big hero team up, she would be after those responsible for kidnapping her father. She's also a very fun character to play and I like her arrogant and sassy attitude! 9. CLAUDIO As one of the few Tekken 7 newcomers to appear in the story, Claudio was actually involved in the plot. His clan, the Archers of Sirus have powers that could fight off the Devil. I feel like he could be connected to Angel, and maybe he would work with others like Zafina to stop Jin & Kazuya. I really like his moveset too he has a unique power up ability which is a lot of fun! 10. MASTER RAVEN For some reason, Master Raven wasn't in the story in Tekken 7, despite OG Raven having an appearance, and the fact that the UN (Her employees) are mentioned a lot! Really, she would be leading her team to capture Jin in the next game! She is way to cool to not even have in the story! 11. LEI An iconic character in the series, Lei should be given a decent role in the next game. As a detective, he should be the one to find out all the hidden info about the Mishima's & Devil Gene. Plus he has such a unique moveset that deserves to be in the series! 12. LIDIA Lidia is an awesome character with a great moveset. As the PM of Poland, she wants to protect her country. Perhaps she would attempt to take down Gcorp & the Mishima Zaibatsu who are huge threats to world peace? Regardless, she is a refreshing female character who is actually older! (Only 29 but still!) WILDCARDS These are unlikely to be seen, but I would love to see how they would be implemented! Bottom Row 1. Zombie Bride - possibly Miguel's sister - a Zombie fighter would be very unique! 2. Lana Lei - A villianess from Death By Degrees - seeing her reimagined for Tekken would be awesome! Plus it would be cool to have a female villain in the series!!! Top Row 1. Unknown - As a character exclusive to the Tag games, it's unclear if she's canon! They could use her as Jun's evil form in Tekken 8, or perhaps her evil sister as was initially planned? 2. Sexy Tekken Force Lady - A member of the Tekken Force given some uniqueness would be cool, especially if she was a leading member or something. She could be a rival to Lars! How many will we see? I think I got a few right last time so we will have to wait and see!!!

Guilty Gear: 15 Most Powerful Characters
https://ift.tt/31c9Nc1
Guilty Gear has one of the more ridiculous storylines in fighting games. A beautiful-looking series with a fantastic cast of heroes and villains, the sci-fi anime aesthetic lends itself to some wacky concepts.
The broad strokes of the series aren’t all that bizarre, as it tells a pretty basic story overall. In a world where magic was discovered, three scientists accidentally unleashed a new type of species that led to a lengthy war between these creatures (Gears) and humanity. One scientist became a genocidal monster, one a grizzled anti-hero, and another a mysterious wildcard watching over everything. Eventually, the war ended and peace reigned, but the possibility of the war reigniting is a constant threat.
That’s not too out there on its own. Except the story also features a large vigilante doctor who wears a paper bag to hide his identity as a crazed serial killer. There’s a ninja who gets elected President of the United States, only to later figure out it would be easier to just start his own country. There’s a comatose boy in a weaponized bed whose personality is a mix between Freddy Krueger and Mandark from Dexter’s Lab. There’s a yoyo-wielding bounty hunter, a time-traveling Axl Rose knockoff, a dandy vampire, an assassin who uses reality-bending billiards as a fighting style, and so on.
Shit gets weird.
With Guilty Gear Strive finally out on store shelves, giving us the long-awaited final battle between Sol Badguy and That Man, it’s time to take a look at the most powerful beings in the Guilty Gear universe. One character I’m leaving off the list is Leopaldon from Guilty Gear Isuka. Not only is the game not canon, but even WHAT Leopaldon is (a dog and a wizard piloting a yeti?) isn’t well-explained. But if you want Leopaldon, he’s definitely on our official ranking of all the characters in the series.
Anyway, here the most powerful characters in Guilty Gear:
15. IZUNA
Izuna, a hero introduced in Guilty Gear 2, is a bit on the mysterious side, but there’s enough information to make it apparent that he’s someone to take serious. Not only is he over 500 years old, but he resides in the Backyard, an environment so uninhabitable that most others would be crushed by its magical atmosphere. He’s skilled as a swordsman, and his teleportation abilities are said to be equal to the strength of several hundred mages combined.
It’s presumed that Izuna didn’t show up in Guilty Gear Xrd because Ariels saw him as such a threat to her plans that she sealed him away and kept him out of play before her schemes could really kick into gear. That’s quite the compliment, in a roundabout way.
14. RAVEN
Raven is all about experience and durability. He simply can’t die, can contort himself, and is unable to feel pain. Even his Instant Kill sees him summon energy that engulf him and his opponent, which turns his enemy to dust while he simply lives to fight another day. He also has control over spatial magic in a way that makes Faust look like a novice. He’s absolutely a force to be reckoned with no matter what character he’s up against.
Still, resilience can only get you so far. When you get down to it, he’s comparable to someone like Deadpool or Wolverine, albeit with an even stronger healing factor and some magic bells and whistles. He may live to fight again, but he can still be overwhelmed and defeated with the right strategy. Guys like Slayer and Dizzy might not be able to completely annihilate him, but they can presumably contain him.
13. THE VALENTINE SERIES
The initial Valentine was the final boss in Guilty Gear 2 and Ramlethal Valentine was the boss in Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-. They, along with Elphelt Valentine and Jack-O Valentine, are treated as crucial parts of the series.
Yet, they just…never really do anything that justifies ranking them higher on this list. Plus I have to lump them together because it’s hard to really compare them when they can apparently shut off each other’s powers.
Then again, I guess the original Valentine is the alpha of the group as she could upgrade her form a couple times over for the sake of final boss battles. Not that it did her any good.
12. I-NO
I-No is a tough one to figure out. Guilty Gear XX introduces her as a major threat, and a mysterious one at that. Her origin isn’t explored at first, and by the time the series explains what the hell she is (some kind of being the universe created out of everyone’s wishes for a better tomorrow?), it doesn’t really give her much context as a combatant. That said, “Manipulating probability” is one of her powers, making her pretty damn formidable when combined with her almost unlimited battle experience and toughness.

Mortal Kombat: 15 Most Powerful Characters
By Gavin Jasper
Even though she’s treated as the boss character in Guilty Gear XX and spends the story messing with everyone, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core lets the rest of the cast catch up to her. Most of her endings involve her being defeated and even killed by those she just beat in-game. For instance, I-No defeats Baiken in-game but then Baiken just gets back up and murders her.
11. BAIKEN AND ANJI MITO
These two are so intertwined and comparable that they’ll have to share a spot. As I already mentioned, they both own I-No no matter who wins the in-game battle, which I’m going to take as a sign that they’re simply superior to her on the battlefield. Both are part of the series’ interesting subplot where people of Japanese descent are both incredibly rare, but also teeming with energy. Unlike May, these two have actually tapped into their genetic potential.
But it has its limits. Baiken has been demolished by Justice in the past, and her attempts to get revenge on That Man only ended in frustration when she couldn’t land a single hit. And he wasn’t even fighting back!
10. KLIFF UNDERSN
Poor Kliff is one of those old school fighting game characters who dies in his own ending, therefore dying in canon. Not that it’s surprising, considering he’s entering a fighting tournament in his late 80s. Still, Kliff is a legend and made a name for himself during much of the war against Justice. Sure, he was taken off the board before we could see how well he’d measure up to some of the younger warriors, but according to canon, Kliff survived at least 16 encounters with Justice.
He couldn’t seal the deal, but surviving against Justice that many times is too impressive not to give him a spot on this list. It’s not like Justice is the kind to spare a defeated foe out of respect. Kliff had to earn his survival time and time again.
9. KY KISKE
Ky Kiske has spent the entire series getting the short straw when compared to his rival and co-protagonist Sol. As Sol’s power keep creeping upwards and making him more and more OP with each new installment, Ky is just off to the side, feeling sorry for himself. He is still more than capable, but on paper, he just can’t hang with the likes of Sol and the other heavy hitters.
The epilogue for Guilty Gear Xrd suddenly shone a new light on Ky, though. Sol fought alongside Ky during the Crusades and saw what he was capable of. It looked nothing like the man he dueled with on multiple occasions across their adventures. Ky then admitted the truth: he had been holding back all this time because, while he may want to defeat Sol, he doesn’t want to kill him and those are two very different fighting strategies for him. Ky may not be some kind of nuclear option in battle, but if he truly wanted to, he could kill you 10 times before you hit the ground.
8. SLAYER
From his first appearance, Slayer made his mark as the retired assassin who was simply too strong for this shit. He’s more of an interested onlooker than a major player and usually only gets involved for the sake of his own amusement. With his otherworldly biology and centuries of experience, Slayer is rarely shown to be in any real peril. Even in defeat, he lies awake and bored, suggesting that he lost only because he allowed it.
It takes a while, but we do eventually get to see some measure of his potential. He’s casual about danger, but there are threats out there that could at the very least make him break a sweat. That’s basically the rest of this list.
7. BEDMAN
Bedman spends the first half of Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- making his way through the rest of the roster. Depicted as an enigmatic being who fights his enemies both physically and mentally (and is near unstoppable on both fronts), Bedman not only overpowers series regulars, but is able to take on multiple opponents at once while still making them look like the underdogs.
The moment that truly shows how dangerous Bedman is when he comes across Slayer. At first, we get the idea that it’s a stalemate and that Slayer may be up against someone worthy of his effort. Then, sometime later, we see Bedman standing triumphantly over Slayer, Millia, and Venom, who all lie at his feet. And after that, he still keeps going, taking out Faust and Chipp while forcing Johnny to escape. Dude is scary.
6. PRESIDENT GABRIEL
Gabriel showed up in Potemkin’s ending, and since then Arc System Works has been playing up how incredible he is while never, ever putting him in a game! It’s outright maddening. Make him a DLC character or something. We’ve been waiting decades!

50 Best Fighting Game Final Bosses from Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, and More
By Gavin Jasper
He’s a man Potemkin looks up to and confides in by the end of the first game. Then they introduce Slayer and tease tease this nigh-unbeatable immortal is Gabriel’s rival. It isn’t until Guilty Gear Xrd that it really becomes apparent how tough this guy is. After the story spent all this time building up Bedman, Gabriel completely clowns him like nobody’s business.
That’s what you get for killing that dog, you comatose asshole.
5. SOL BADGUY
Every now and then, fiction gives us a character so powerful that even trying to make them cease to exist does nothing. Blow up Darkseid with anti-matter, use magic to erase the Sentry, go back in time and destroy the MacGuffin that makes Apocalypse immortal, etc. They somehow just exist in spite of that. Sol is on that level. I-No once sent him back in time, had him kill his younger self, and Sol simply shrugged off the paradox. The dude is ridiculous.
Sol grows more powerful in each game and even then we’re told that he’s holding back. By the time the dust settles, he’ll probably be worthy of #1 post on the list, but right now, he’s just a high-ranking, angry fellow who’s important enough to be what the series’ bizarre title is named after.
4. JUSTICE
Despite being killed off in the first game, Justice is the constant source of dread in Guilty Gear’s story. Many of the games have revolved around the threat of Justice’s return, whether it’s getting her daughter to follow in her footsteps, cloning, or even resurrection. And yes, Justice is bad news because when she was active, she led a war against mankind that lasted 101 years. She only lost because she was sealed away.
After being released from her prison, Justice was eventually done in by Sol Badguy, the only Gear to predate her creation. It could be said that Sol took her out when she was weakened, but it could also be said that Sol was holding back.
Regardless, I’m going to rank Justice higher because of of her mental control over the entire Gear race, Sol excluded. Yeah, that’s a pretty major weapon to have in your back pocket, even if it doesn’t really come into play in a one-on-one fighting game. Sol was lucky to be in a situation where he could take her out before she could call in the reserves.
3. DIZZY
Dizzy makes me think of when someone is writing a Justice League story and has to come up with a reason for Superman to not be around, like he’s busy in space or off in another dimension. Dizzy isn’t the protagonist of Guilty Gear, but she is the daughter of two of the most powerful characters, and is mainly held back by plot contrivance and her attempts at pacifism. If she wanted to, she could wipe the floor with practically anyone, and there’s even an alternate reality (one where Ky died during the Crusades) that shows her embracing her potential and leading the Gears to victory against humanity.
Her so-called “Instant Kill” in Guilty Gear Xrd paints the best picture. Dizzy reluctantly fires a projectile that misses its mark, but leaves a horrifying mushroom cloud in the distance. Her freaked out opponents can only survey the damage, slowly turn to her, and surrender. Again, that’s what she’s capable of when holding back.
2. ASUKA R. KREUZ/THAT MAN
I can’t think of a more ambitious concept for a fighting game character than That Man. He’s alluded to in Sol Badguy’s ending in the first Guilty Gear game, making you imagine he’ll be the final boss of the next game or maybe the one after that. Instead, he makes mysterious appearances in the Guilty Gear X games. We never get a good look at him, but we see that he’s capable of easily slapping aside anyone who gets in his way. Then he pops up in Guilty Gear 2, including in a boss battle where Dragon Install Sol Badguy can’t even dent him. The Guilty Gear Xrd series gives him a little more dimension, finally revealing his true face and name.
Now it’s time for Guilty Gear Strive where maybe, just maybe, That Man will be DLC down the line. Maybe. Since the beginning, the series has been building to a climactic battle between Sol Badguy and Asuka R. Kreuz. As it is right now, That Man has proved to be higher on the food chain than his old scientist colleague, but that kind of uphill battle is expected.
1. ARIELS
Guilty Gear 2 and Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- built up “Mother,” the force behind the Valentines and the one signing Bedman’s checks. At the end of -Sign-, we found out that the big mastermind is…a lady Pope possessed by a divine force. Sure, why not. Then in the next game, we got to see her go from putting on a professional and benevolent face for the public to going on a killing spree, painting her face like a juggalo, and ranting about how humanity is redundant and needs to be done away with.
Once again, Ariels would have made for a kickass final boss in Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, but she remained part of story mode only. She was eventually taken down, but it took Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, Sin Kiske, and That Man teaming up to do it. But as revealed in Guilty Gear Strive, she’s still alive!

⭕ - SEND ANY QUESTION FOR THE MUN NOT LISTED ABOVE!
Let's make this fun. I'm gonna answer them all!
1. I like doing my own stuff better. I can't recall things properly enough to do a Canon character whatsoever and I'd just get mad about it.
2. Whichever version I can grasp better. I can't explain this any better than that.
3. Yes. Rowdy's relationship with a dragon person. Now that I have a good idea how he would've been back then, he would've made better efforts to have her stay around because he has nothing but admiration for her, he just wishes she'd know.
4. I don't play Pokemon, so make up your own ideas, they might work :v
5. It'd have to be d and d4. Rowdy would be a fighter. Hallow an artificer because he can build things. Cherry would be bard, since she's focused mostly on charm. Ivy would be a monk.
6. Already answered.
7. I can barely write the one I have properly, imagine other ones!
8. Rowdy with a Toriel that, as much as she's downright mean it evil, would be able to take decent care of him. He's not in a good State right now as much as the speed otherwise. Hallow, an Alphys. That's a given. But one that can intimidate him, but when they're in their own privacy would treat him better.
9. My guys generally are super friendly to going in other worlds and stuff.
10. I don't get what those do. So not really.
11. It is me belief that listen to what I would listen to, so I guess so?
12. Any thread at all. It's fun to meet people or just do stuff with people. I wish I could do more of that.
13. I have nooooooo idea, homie.
14. Heh. A human.
15. Pass. (I wasn't given names so nyah)
16. Cherry would definitely be some kinda Aphrodite deal. Hallow, maybe something around deceit and Poison. Rowdy... A sun god, maybe. Just to be pretentious.
17. Sweets. Just to spoil them and make Hallow sad.
18. I will go with Street fighter 5 and Dragon Ball FighterZ:
Rowdy: Karin Kanzuki in SFV And Janemba/DBS Broly/SSJ Vegeta in Dbfz. The others don't play fighting games so much.
19. Ivy, Cherry. Give them some character development.
20. One out of 4, yes. You guess who!

would have my similar tastes but as well as different ones
38. Describe, appearance-wise, what your ideal boy/girlfriend would be like?
as i stated before.. blonde hair, blue eyes are like the favorite combo. but i also dated black hair+green eyes and blonde/chestnut brown+brown eyes

43. Could you forgive a cheater?
nope. never
44. Is lying about something serious as bad as cheating?
again, it depends on the situation. question’s a bit vague.
45. Right now, you could call the person you like/love (if you aren’t dating/engaged/married already), or show up at their front door, and just confess or kiss them or whatever. What’s stopping you
not wanting to go into details but...
“person °1″ - he has yet to literally grow his balls out and gives the middle finger a bit to his parents and quite a bit growing out of confidence.
“person °2″ - well.. awkwardly speaking, basically a whole life apart and haven’t got any chance to meet up like “normal people” like living in the same city/country. Aand of course this leads to the obvious stopping matter that this person is (gladly) happily married and had a family already..
meh i’m somewhat boring

Like a Punch in the Gut Aaron Burr x Reader Chapter 10
Forever Tag @fangirlandnerd
Chapter 1 Chapter 2  Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9  Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12
Masterlist
The conversation between you and Nathaniel ended with the two of you exchanging contact information. You admitted that you weren’t sure if you were ready for him to be a part of Charlotte’s life and he agreed. The two of you would think on it for a few days. After you and Aaron had left the restaurant, you finally felt like you could breathe a bit more. Trying to process everything that had just happened, you remained silent for a few blocks. Subconsciously along the way you start giggling. The two of you pause in your tracks as your giggles turn into full out laughter. You notice Aaron’s eyebrow cocked as he observes your laughter, and you try to control your laughs a little more.
“I’m sorry,” you say in between the subsiding giggles, “I really don’t know how to process what just happened.” When your eyes catch his again you see him looking as if he’s trying not to laugh either.
“I’ll admit that’s not a part of the date that I planned.” When you can catch your breath, you feel a bit relieved. “Shall we head on to the next destination?” You tilt your head to the side with a smirk on your face and retort,
“You sure you can handle all the random parts of my past popping up?” Aaron answers your question with a genuine smile.
“I absolutely insist learning more about you, Y/N.”
Hand in hand, the two of you walk off to the next place; an arcade. You think to yourself that this isn’t like the arcades you and John grew up with, oh no. This was an arcade full of video games, large crane machines, and prizes on prizes. Aaron saw the look of your amazed face and laughed. Tugging your hand slightly to follow him he walked up to the customer service counter and asked to speak to the owner. After taking his name, the employee went into the presumed office space and requested the presence of the owner, a man in his 50’s, who greeted Aaron with a handshake and a hug. Aaron greeted back with the same energy and then introduced you as his date. The man, Greg, as he said to call him, did a double take when he heard your name.
“Wait,” he questions, shaking your hand, “Y/N as in the mother of the girl who decked Theodosia?” With a forced chuckle from both you and Aaron, you confirm that yes, you are Charlotte’s mother.
“Good!” Greg exclaimed. “I’m glad the two of you finally got to go on a date.” Aaron’s arm reaches around you and settles on your hip as Greg continues to talk, very clearly trying to embarass him.
“How do you two know each other?” You ask Greg.
“Oh, Aaron was my lawyer years ago when a rival arcade tried to sue me. They were trying to blame me for the way my crane machines were manufactured, saying they were rigged to be successful, which is why everyone came to my place.”
“It was my first solo case,” Aaron chimes in, as you look in astonishment in his direction.
“His first win, too,” Greg says with a laugh. “Mr. Burr here has been my go to for legal advice since. Here,” he pauses, grabbing a card from his back pocket. “Go play, have fun, on the house. Just make sure to stop by before you leave.”
You and Aaron thank Greg profusely, with both of you saying it wasn’t necessary, but he just waves you off, leaving the two of you to decide where to start. Since the cranes were the both of you attempt to grab a Pokemon plush for the girls. Twenty credits later, you have a Squirtle and a Charmander plush sticking out of your crossbody purse that you now are grateful you brought. Moving on from the cranes, the video games catch your eye next. After kicking his butt multiple times on the motorcycle racing game (“This isn’t fair, you actually learned how to drive, you didn’t grow up in New York!”), and having your own handed to you on the Tekken Tag game, (“Oh-ho-ho, vengeance is mine, dear Y/N!”), the two of you wander over to some goofier games, like the hopscotch game.
You fail pretty spectacularly on your first attempt. Glancing over at Aaron you notice that he’s laughing in your direction, trying to keep it hidden under his hand.
“What?” you say, with a grin on your face. “Hopscotch wasn’t really my favorite game growing up. John never played it with me!” You turn your attention back to the screen where a measly “15” was displaying. Aaron comes up on your left, places a quick peck on your cheek and scooches you out of the way. Feeling a little starstruck because of the kiss, you barely register your date taunting,
“Excuses, excuses. Let me show you how it’s done.” Aaron hits the 101 hops jackpot in less than a minute and a half, leaving you speechless, even without the kiss on the cheek. Watching the tickets pour out, you sputter,
        “Are you kidding me?!”
“And that, my dear, is how it’s done.” For the next hour you spend competing with each other in the basketball game, skeeball, whack-a-mole, even a jump rope game, and compile a large pile of tickets. Realizing you don’t really need to spend all the tickets, you each pick out a small prize. Aaron chooses a fun pen that he swears he’ll use at work, and you a desktop sized dinosaur that sings “Dynamite” to annoy John, Peggy, and Lauren at work every once in a while (more like every dang day). You decide to leave the tickets for the next kid coming in to enjoy.
Greg wishes both of you a goodnight as the two of you leave the arcade. Noticing how barren the streets were you glance at your phone for the first this evening and realize how long you went without thinking about the restaurant or how Peggy and John were doing with Charlie.
“What time did you need to pick up Theo?” You ask, grabbing his hand, intertwining your fingers. Aaron squeezes your hand and answers,
“She’s spending the night with the Hamiltons. I couldn’t plan for how long we would spend in the arcade, and Theo was overdue for a sleepover with Pip and Angie anyway.” After a few moments, he questions, “What do you think Charlotte and her aunt and uncle are up to?” You snort at the image that comes to mind.
“Well. If I know John, he’s probably asleep while Peggy and Charlie are painting his nails for the fun of it. They’ll probably watch the Spongebob movie at least one more time and fall asleep during the credits.” Aaron lets out a whistle and responds with an astonished voice,
        “That’s really specific, Y/N.”
“Well, before Lauren came to the restaurant, there weren’t too many people I trusted to run my kitchen so I worked a lot of evenings where John or Peggy would watch Charlotte.”
“It’s hard being a single parent,” your date mentions.
“I imagine it’s a bit harder being a widowed single parent, Aaron,” you remind him. He just hums in agreement, and then adds,
“It was hard for both of us. Theodosia Sr. was killed in a car crash when Theo was 5. She couldn’t quite understand why her mom wasn’t coming home, or why her mom looked like she was sleeping. I wasn’t prepared to teach her about death that way, you know?” Aaron asks the hypothetical question, slowing down the walk just a tad, and you squeeze his hand to show that you understand.
“I don’t think she ever really got to mourn. Her memories from her mom are so few and far between that it almosts hurts for her to remember. It’s also why I haven’t really dated since. In fact,” he admits, stopping in his stride and turning to face you, “It took me until Charlotte punched Theo in the face to even talk to you.”
“Wait, what?” You say, incredulously, a smile and a blush gracing your face.
“Yeah, I noticed you at one of the open houses for the school and just never had the nerve to start up a conversation. I’m really surprised Theo hasn’t told you,” he explains, watching your face and starting to smile himself. “I kept asking her to make friends with Charlotte, and she just kept saying no.”
“Look where they are now,” you interject, with a giggle escaping your smile.
“Yeah. Look where we are, too.” The two of you continue back to your apartment as the conversation dwindles slightly. A weight on your shoulders is suggesting that you talk about Nathaniel, even though you weren’t sure what you were going to do. I mean, the guy had to decide if he even wanted to meet Charlotte, let alone be a part of her life.
    “Hey, Aaron?”
“Yes?” He hums in response.
“I would like to tell you about Nathaniel, but I’m a bit unsure if I should.” You can feel his thumb running over the back of your hand in order to soothe you.
“Y/N, you’re welcome to share anything with me, but you don’t have to, especially if you would like to wait. I would like to be around as long as you’ll have me,” he assures you, as he pulls the hand he’s holding up to his lips. He places a gentle kiss on the back of your hand and you can’t help but lean into him.
“For someone who hasn’t dated in years, you sure know how to sweet-talk a girl,” you stammer out, trying to tease him, but being a little more affected than you want to admit because all of a sudden you find yourself tilting your head up towards his face and he’s tilting his head down towards you, and as your eyes are fluttering closed you hear him joke back in a similar manner,
“I’ve had some practice in the mirror.” Before you can react to the cheesy line that didn’t seem so cheesy you feel his breath on your lips and then your lips connect.
It was the best kiss you’ve had. Ever. While it was a little bit awkward and fumbly, you liked the way he felt. Soft enough for comfort, but firm that you were able to sink into him no problem. Breaking only slightly to regain air, your arms wrap around his neck and he catches you stumbling into his arms (which you swear was involuntary). Each kiss grew more sure and a little more coordinated, and each kiss brought you deeper into his arms.
*********************************************************************
You walk the rest of the way home hand in hand. Kisses are shared every few minutes and quite a few are given on the elevator ride up to your floor. After you’ve successfully unlocked your door and shared a goodnight kiss, you find yourself taking another deep breath before walking further into your home. Before you can even sneak into the living room, you hear Peggy’s steps towards you, pulling you into your bedroom.
“John actually stayed awake long enough to carry Charlie to bed, then he came back and crashed on the couch,” your best friend huffs out, rolling her eyes, before landing on your bed, taking you with her. “So, tell me everything!”
You jokingly scold her for her curiosity and begin to recount the events of the night.
“You ran into who?!” Peggy incredulously inquires when you get to the part at the end of your dinner.
“I ran into Nathaniel, Charlotte’s dad.”
“I thought you didn’t remember him?”
“I didn’t,” you insist, “Until I saw him again. NYC is a large place, Peggy.” With a grimace, “He deserved to know that he has a daughter, too.”
“Poor Aaron,” Peggy chuckles, “All he wanted was a date and he got an estranged father.”
“Yeah,” you sigh. Aaron was such a good guy and you were still in shock with the way Nathaniel showed back up in your life, but you decided you’ll tell Aaron about him later. After giggling and gushing about the rest of the date, you and Peggy fall asleep leaving your daughter in her room and John on the couch. It was a late night afterall. And while the evening had some gut-wrenching moments, the butterflies in your stomach are fluttering around peacefully.

Now that it's all ogre, how would you rate the Smash DLC characters?
I answered this on twitter, but since tumblr doesn't have a tiny character limit I can explain my reasoning!
1: Tie between Sora & Terry Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite video game series ever. KH2FM, specifically, is in my top 3 favorite games (because I can't just pick one. The other two are Mega Man Legends and Project Justice, for the record.)
Terry is my BOY, I always try and use him in any game he's in and goddamn do I love him in Smash, he's been my main since he came out and even with Sora being added in, I'm still gonna use him all the time.
3: Banjo I fucking love Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, and while I may not really like how they play just seeing them in Smash makes me happy. It's like they BELONG there, y'know? 4: Joker Purse Owner is another series I fucking love and one that I didn't think would EVER be in Smash, lemme tell you I popped the FUCK off when they announced him holy shit
5: Min-Min She's my favorite ARMS character. I'd slurp those noodles if you know what I mean HEH HEH HEH
6: Sephiroth I'm pretty mid on Sephiroth BUT his stage is sick and he actually brought fucking FF7 music with him. The fact that it took until his release to have One Winged Angel in is a CRIME
7: Hero Eh, not big into Dragon Quest tbh. But one of his alts colors references the protagonist of Dragon Quest Monsters and I fucking loved that game.
8: Kazuya I love me some good ass Tekken but I've never really cared for Kazuya. I would have preferred Jin, frankly.
9: Pyra/Mythra Don't like Xenoblade 2. At all. I can't stand Rex and the game's attempt at "humor" is uh. Bleh. Pyra and Mythra ARE hot however and they're pretty fun to play as. 10: Steve I don't hate Steven Q. Minecraft or anything but I don't really feel any kind of way about him either. I think he totally deserves to be in Smash though. Have you seen that one fucking clip of that Smash tournament where that Steve player built an F out of blocks before winning a match holy fuck I'd end my career right there if that happened to me
POWER GAP
11: The blandest MC Fire Emblem has ever had Do I think Fire Emblem needed another rep? No, I don't, but if they HAD to give us a 3H rep could they not have chose, I dunno, LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE. I'd even take Edelgard and I can't stand her, at least she's a CHARACTER and not a self insert that's practically devoid of personality. (For the record, I love the Fire Emblem series. If they had given us one of the house leaders or something I just would have been happy there was a character from FE who didn't use a sword.)
Those are my hot takes. Gameplay wise the list would pretty much be the same except Pyra/Mythra would be like, number 3.

Top 10s: Video Games
Ok, I got inspired to do this after watching UpUpDownDown and might do more of these for different topics. Right, quick rules. 1 game per franchise and an explanation as to why I love it will be given. No spoilers either.
10: Tomb Raider 1
Ok, there’s going to be a lot of PS1 games in here. It’s my era and the first console I got so deal with it. Nostalgia is powerful shit. I remember being really young, like 4 years old and watching my step dad play this game for hours. After awhile we started playing it together, we would play for hours and I was so hooked. The story was so good Lara Croft was the first human main character for a game I can remember playing and it will always have a special place in my heart. This is why the new Tomb Raider games have been so hard for me to get on board with.
9: Spiderman PS1
The first game I ever finished, start to finish, on my own. I finished it so many times I unlocked all the costumes without the cheat. I then lost my save so begged friends at school for the cheat so I didn’t have to do it all again. But ended up doing it all again anyway. I am a massive superhero fan and Spiderman was my first favorite superhero and I dreamed of a day he would get a game, so when he did, I played it to death. I loved it so much. It was like playing a season of the 90s animated tv show. Pure superhero gaming perfection.
8: Mass Effect 2
In the modern era it’s rare I actually finish a game. Modern games either have gameplay that just entertain (either handling terribly or just plain boring) or the story is terrible. This was different. I never got to play the first Mass Effect as I believe it never released for the PlayStation and I never had an Xbox. But I found the second one years after it released on the cheap. Figured I’d give it a go, I didn’t have plans that weekend. It was something else. It was the first time since....a game later in this list.... that I had experienced such great and interactive story telling in a game. And by that I mean a game where you actually felt like you shaped it. For those that haven’t played it I wont spoil anything, but when you get to the last mission, it really shows how a game can handle your choices.
7: Croc 1
The only game on this list I haven’t actually finished. But my god it was fun. Another example of games on the PlayStation 1 that were such simplistic perfection. Without much of a clear story and other than “save these creatures from the bad things!” it was engaging and that soundtrack......oh my god that soundtrack.
6: Medievil 2
Play it. Just play it. And the first one too. i struggled with which one to put on this list. And while the first one might have had a few more funny moments with dialogue, the variety in levels, weapons, environments and story for a PS1 game were way way WAAAAAY ahead of their time. A game that somehow took a great dry sense of humor, an engaging story, a lovable protagonist that wasn’t your usual “badass” (again, I wont spoil anything) it was just pure fun, start to finish. The dark, gothic yet funny aesthetic didn’t hurt either
5: Tekken 3
Fighting game perfect. Disagree? Fight me. I know the argument of “Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat vs Tekken” has been going on for ages. I am team Tekken. The massive shifts in tone between characters and story is so good and keep it entertaining no matter how many times you play. But the thing that puts this Tekken ahead of the others is the Tekken Force mode. Not only did you have one of the best one on one fighting games ever, but you also had a multi leveled side scrolling beat em up in with it. What was not to love? Sidenote: King is my character. I once was at a house party and we have Tekken set up and I beat everyone else there two times over playing as King to the point we changed the game because I just wasn’t losing.
4: Fallout New Vegas
In my humble opinion, the greatest RPG experience ever. I know a lot of people wont agree. A lot wont even agree with it in the case of only Fallout games. But this is my favorite and I pumped so many hours into this game. You could play it 20 times over and never play the same way twice. No matter what you did, it had an impact. You could start the game and kill the first person you see and that would have a massive effect on your game. You could be good, evil, smart, dumb, a scientist, a fighter, a talker, a lover, a loner almost anything you want. The only game (other than the next on this list) that I have finished without killing anyone in it....I mean games where that is actually an option, you can finish the game without killing. It’s amazing.
3: Undertale
What can I say that hasn’t been said? A game where it will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you fall in love with side characters that you might only meet once, hell it’ll make you fall in love with the generic “enemies”. Everyone and everything has a personality in this game. And when it comes to being inclusive to all, this game is the best I’ve ever seen. Every character is different and so deep it’s amazing how much time and effort must have gone into it. If you haven’t played it for yourself, do it. I mean. You’ll get at least 2 playthroughs out of it that will be different. 3 if you have the time.
2: WWE Smackdown Shut Your Mouth
The game that I have lost the most hours of my life to....I think.....either this or number 1. Almost all WWE games have the same format, at least this era of WWE games. The mode that I will focus on is the season mode. 2 full years worth of storylines and madness. All different, all fun. Some based on real WWE storylines but with twists. If you are a wrestling fan, well a WWE fan, this is the best game for season mode.....well, this and Here Comes The Pain. It;s very close. This one wins for me because you get 2 full years worth.
1: Crash Bandicoot 1
The first game I ever owned. The day my dad brought home a PS1 and this game I was hooked. Hours of my childhood were lost to this orange, spinning asshole. Who doesn’t love Crash? He’s the best character ever created for PS1 in my opinion. Without saying a word he was amazing. The best. And the levels were all so good and challenging. But not bad challenging. You always knew what to do, just doing it was hard work. But the feeling you get when you beat the game......it’s so good. And shoutout to the music. Best soundtrack!

Retrospective Thought: Top Ten Games of 2017
Another year goes by, and another list of games that I thought were stellar, great and splendid to play. 2016 was a pretty alright year for games, but this year, with a myriad of stellar as fuck releases? personally blew the previous year out of the water with some stellar as hell titles, new IPs or new entries in existing franchises. As good as games this year might be, 2017 was NOT without its controversy, specifically the rise of Loot Boxes(thank you EA, Activision-Blizzard). Nonetheless, without further waiting, here’s my top ten games of 2017.
10) Yakuza 0(PS4) -
I’m a huge fan of the Yakuza series, seeing it as the last bastion of good Sega Games made by Sega themselves, despite their continuation of fuckin up Sonic. Yakuza 0 is basically a prequel, set before the events of the original game and putting you in the shoes of a young Kazuma and a young Majima Goro. The action is ridiculously fun and over the top as previous entries, including a new Fighting Style that allows you to switch between styles for varying strategies against waves of foes. The story is still as crazy, funny, emotionally gripping and tense as one can get from a Crime Drama centered around the Yakuza. The characters are all larger than life, greatly developed and just a pleasure to see, whether its new guys just for this entry or returning characters at a younger period of their lives. Pick this game up if you haven’t played the Yakuza games, it’s a great starting point. Pick it up if you’re a fan of the series too.
9) Nioh (PS4/WIN) -
Tecmo Koei’s “Dark Souls” only it’s set in Feudal Japan, post Nobunaga. Originally, this title was expected to be out in 2004, but was kicked into development Hell until it’s re-announcement in 2015/16. Following the adventures of William Blake as he searches for Guardian Spirit who has been taken by the evil Edward Kelley. William meets many allies, some who may sacrifice themselves to help him help Japan’s Amrita problem. the gameplay is great and greatly fun, solid and responsive as it needs to be. It blends both the flashy badassery of Dynasty Warriors and the tense, pulse pounding grit of Dark Souls. While playing second fiddle to the gameplay and loot system, the story is delightfully cheesy and over the top, it’s hilarious in most parts and well worth getting engaged in. Buy it for your DW/DS/both DS and DW fix.
8) Resident Evil 7(PS4/WIN/XO) -
Resident Evil needed a dire rehaul, reinvention and a total reimagining from the ground up. RE6 was a dumpster filled with half ideas and lazy gameplay. Resi Evil 7 was teased, showing a rather stylistic change, possibly to jump on the hype left by Silent Hills, but nonetheless it ended up working for the better. The scares were there, more cerebral than ever whilst taking that traditional Resi Evil feel and introverting it into quite possibly the best RE game since 4. Get it if you’ve been wanting that AAA Survival horror atmosphere, definitely worth the price.
7) Pyre(WIN/PS4) -
from the developers of Bastion and Transistor, two incredibly stellar indie titles, Supergiant Games brings out Pyre this year. You are the Reader, you’re travelling with a group of exiles taking part in these “rites” to seek your freedom and return to the commonwealth. mixing parts of an adventure, an RPG and a fucking sports game of all things, these systems and mechanics are all solidly blended together in superb fashion. The story is also one to follow as well, dealing with redemption, rebellion and even death, this is a tale in which character’s mature over time, developing into whichever way you choose throughout the game. A fabulous indie game developed by a stellar indie developer, pick this up as soon as possible.
6) South Park: The Fractured But Whole (PS4/XO/WIN) -
Admittedly, I was not expecting much from this sequel, considering how great Stick of Truth was. But Whole is a fantastic follow up and quite possibly the best licensed game that I can really think of. You follow the story of the kids, Eric and co, as they decide to play Superheroes, hoping to find a lost kitty. In classic South Park style, everyone is not safe, everything WILL be mocked and made fun of, even the “Difficulty” slider is not spared from the same bout of vicious shit flinging. If you’re familiar with South Park, or at least the previous game and it’s brand of humour, then you’ll have a great time with this one, though if you don’t particularly enjoy South Park? You may want to avoid this title. Recommended for those who love offensive humour and South Park. 5) Assassin’s Creed: Origins(PS4/WIN/XO) -
Well it seems taking a year off, retooling and rebuilding the franchise has helped GREATLY with AC:O. Ubisoft are not the greatest of developers/publishers, but I commend them for actually crafting an AC experience that is on par, if not BETTER than AC2. You follow the story of Bayek, a Medjai who’s seeking out individuals of an Order after they had killed his son. While gameplay still has those “creed-isms” Such as stealth and assassinating, the combat, ranged and melee have both been redefined from the ground up for mostly better. While it has a rocky beginning, the story for the most part is damn great, with some really impactful moments here and there, the dynamic between Bayek and his wife ground themselves in a relatable way, giving the series another “good” protagonist in a sea of “bad” ones. If you’re a fan of the series, be wary of the changes to combat, but for the most part you will love it. Buy it to see how an open world is done right. 4) Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon(3DS) -
Sun and Moon are great pokemon titles and even good games in their own right, but their “updated” iterations make a good game fantastic. Sure, it’s really a remake, but the added stuff is enough to give a second journey through Alola. More pokes to capture, wider selection of wild pokes in the earlier game, new forms and even new pokes add a much meatier experience on the gameplay side of it whilst the story is vastly improved on with added scenes and characters, giving the UBs more importance helps to make their inclusion not so last minute. While it may be harder to recommend to a passing fan, it’s definitely worth picking up if you’re a pokefan through and through. 3) Injustice 2(PS4/WIN/XO) -
I loved the original Injustice, even its mishaps, heck Mortal Kombat X was one of my GoTYs for 2015, and I still adore that game/series now. Injustice 2 takes a hard long look at it’s predecessor, looks at its shortcomings and decides to get rid of them, for better or for worse. IJ2 is a vast improvement by definition, more varied selection of fighters to choose from, a better written story plus a Villain that will make you go “Holy shit that’s dope” trust me on that. The game picks up from the last title; Batman is now running things after Dictator Chairman Supes is now put in a cell of kryptonite, whilst Supergirl wants to go rescue her cousin, Earth is in peril by the invading Brainiac, a Krypton Super-Computer who wants to collect all knowledge. The gameplay takes some elements from MKX and even improves upon them, especially the added loot system, giving you that chance to customise how your favourite DC Fighter(or Hellboy/MK/TMNT Fighters, yes even Hellboy and the Ninja Turtles are in this, take that MVC:I!). Varied roster, solid gameplay and a story that doesn’t have any right being as good as it is, a must buy for Fighting Game and DC Comics enthusiasts. 2) Persona 5(PS4) -
The Persona franchise is one of those JRPG franchises that you either love or hate, I love it if you haven’t read my review on Persona 5. The fifth(Main line, that is) in the super popular gem that is Persona is a fantastic, well written piece of JRPG goodness with music that will blow your socks off, and a story that’s goofy, hilarious yet serious, dramatic and engrossing all packed together neatly. The gameplay while standard Turn Based affair is so solid and fun and with a surprising amount of choice, since you can potentially recruit enemy personas to your team. Each character grows and develops throughout the story, with tragedy and hope mixed in to give you a sorta mix of Persona 3 dark and Persona 4 lightheartedness, and that’s a good thing. Quite possibly my favourite JRPG of this by a huge, wide and long road between the other stuff. Recommend whether you’re new or a veteran to this series, god damn play this game now! Honourable Mentions: In no particular order, here’s a few honourable titles that I loved but haven’t included in my main top ten. Tekken 7, Yakuza Kiwami, Battlechasers: Nightwar, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, Evil Within 2, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, Gravity Rush 2, Horizon Zero Dawn. 1) NieR: Automata -
This game...this game is why I love games, stories and music, all in one. A fantastic experience from start to finish, a rollercoaster of emotions whilst using gameplay in conjunction with narration and to break the fourth wall on multiple occasions. You play as 2B and 9S, androids that are fighting the Machine menace to save the earth for humanity, by destroying them to pieces and dodging and moving through bullet hell like segments and even Shmup segments too. Seems standard affair right? Well the story really _really_ slowly reveals itself, giving even development to the bosses and enemies you face, no major character here is one note, at all. Platinum Games managed to get one thing they could never quite master right; an engaging, dramatic and heartfelt story/narration. Execution is far from perfect, but this game is so near perfect it deserves to be played by everyone. The music? There’s a few refrains and already established tracks from the previous game, but why fix something if it ain’t broken right? The music is heartfelt and really emotionally heavy. Yoko Taro is truly the Madman of Video Games. But his mad genius is executed for the most part, really great. Pick this game up if you desire something memorable, meaningful and fantastic. So there’s my list, obviously this is my opinion, you may think differently, or think the same way, it’s fine, everyone’s got an opinion, but this is MY list, so don’t hate because a game I like that you don’t like is here, it’s kinda pathetic. Hopefully 2018 brings even more diamonds.

10 Ways Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood Connects To Tarantino's Movies
Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe made the idea of inter-connected movies being set in a shared universe mainstream, filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino engaged with viewers by dropping in-universe Easter Eggs that linked his movies. Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood, his ninth film, continues this tradition, relying more on thematic links rather than straightforward familial connections or visual call-backs.
Still, Tarantino’s ode to Hollywood in the year 1969 is as Tarantino as a Tarantino movie can get. Filled with homages to his favorite obscure titles, genres, and more, Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood is a visual treat for fans of the celebrated filmmaker. Here are 10 ways that Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood connects with Tarantino’s other movies and the shared universe they occupy.
10 Big Kahuna Burgers and Red Apple Cigarettes
Tumblr media
A hallmark of Tarantino’s movies are the recurring brand names that he created, specifically Big Kahuna Burgers and Red Apple Cigarettes. The burger joint made famous by Pulp Fiction can be seen on a billboard during one of the many driving scenes in Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood.
Meanwhile, Red Apple Cigarettes gets a big shout-out through a full-blown commercial. In a mid-credits scene, Rick stars in an ad for the cigarettes, claiming that they’re the best in town. But when the cameras stop rolling, Rick openly bashes the brand and disses the cigarettes for their horrid taste.
9 Cut Cameos
Tumblr media
Tarantino’s movies are filled with cameos, and Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood is no exception. Michael Madsen (Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs) briefly shows up as an extra on Bounty Law.
Thing is, Madsen’s role was cut short for time. This was luckier compared to Tim Roth (Mr. Pink in Reservoir Dogs), James Marsden, and Danny Strong, whose cameos were cut. Respectively, they portrayed Jay Sebring’s butler, Burt Reynolds and Dean Martin.
Additionally, Burt Reynolds himself was supposed to portray George Spahn but passed before shooting. Spahn is now portrayed by Bruce Dern (Gen. Smithers in The Hateful Eight).
8 Courtney Hoffman
Tumblr media
When he arrives on set with a terrible hangover, Rick Dalton meets director Sam Wanamaker and his costumer Rebekka. Her job is to cover up Dalton’s distinctly heroic features so that he looks more like a bad guy rather than the star of yesteryear’s Bounty Law.
RELATED: Game Of Thrones: 10 Best Costumes On The Show, Ranked
Rebekka is played by real-life costumer Courtney Hoffman, who previously worked with Tarantino on Django Unchained as Christoph Waltz’s personal costumer. She also has costume and wardrobe credits in Baby Driver, Captain Fantastic, and that Tekken movie fans would rather ignore.
7 Cliff, Randy, and Stuntman Mike
Tumblr media
Kurt Russel’s third collaboration with Tarantino hearkens back to their first movie. Once again, Russel is a stuntman who here goes by the name of Randy. Unlike Stuntman Mike from Death Proof, Randy is a nice guy who doesn’t murder girls in his stunt car to get off.
RELATED: 15 Times Stunt Performers Were Seriously Injured (Or Died) On Set
There are no mentions of Stuntman Mike in Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood, though some theorize Randy could be Mike’s father or brother “Stuntman Bob.” If anything, struggling stuntman Cliff has more in common with Stuntman Mike thanks to his shady past involving the death of his wife.
6 Zoe Bell
Tumblr media
Speaking of stuntmen, Tarantino’s frequent collaborative stunt performer Zoe Bell has a cameo as Randy’s wife Janet. She’s the one who stops the fight between Bruce Lee and Cliff, getting mad at the latter for wrecking her car by throwing the martial arts legend at it.
This isn’t Bell’s first speaking role in a Tarantino movie, as she was one of the leading ladies of Death Proof. Starring as herself, Bell led the new group of girls in the movie’s second half and performed her own stunts, including the “Ship’s Mast” on a speeding Dodge Challenger.
5 Bruce Lee's Legacy
Tumblr media
If The Bride’s yellow jumpsuit didn’t make it clear enough in Kill Bill Vol. 1, Tarantino loves Bruce Lee’s films. Lee’s works and words heavily influenced Tarantino’s two-part throwback to kung-fu movies, and now he brings the man himself back to life through Mike Moh’s acting.
Problem is, Tarantino’s depiction of Lee stirred controversy. Lee’s sister and fans didn’t like the way he was portrayed in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, since he was shown as an annoying braggart. It doesn’t help that Tarantino described him as “arrogant,” which angered Shannon Lee even more.
4 Cowboys And Westerns
Tumblr media
With movies like Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight under his belt, it shouldn’t be too surprising to say that Tarantino is a fan of Westerns, specifically the revisionist Spaghetti Westerns.
The genre makes a comeback in Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood in a very literal sense, with Rick Dalton being a fading cowboy star whose career is revived through Westerns made in Italy. Through Dalton, Tarantino is able to thematically explore an aging Western legend – which was common in Spaghetti Westerns – in ways he couldn’t before.
3 Killing Nazis
Tumblr media
One of Rick Dalton’s movies is The 14 Fists of McCluskey, which features Dalton killing Nazis with a flamethrower. Since Inglorious Basterds is considered fact in the universe of Tarantino’s movies, it’s possible that McCluskey incinerating Nazis was based on actual events and wasn’t just a Roger Corman-tier B-movie idea.
RELATED: 10 Ways Quentin Tarantino’s Movies Are All Connected
Additionally, McCluskey’s one-eyed appearance may be a homage to the original incarnation of Nick Fury in the Marvel comics. A character who, coincidentally, was mentioned fondly by Clarence in True Romance (which Tarantino wrote) and would serve as the foreshadowing for his final look after surviving the fatal shootout.
2 Changing History
Tumblr media
What caught many people off-guard in Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood was that it wasn’t just a love letter to Hollywood circa-1969, but an alternate-history in which Charles Manson’s cultists were killed and their real-world victims lived.
In doing so, Tarantino once again uses fiction to violently rid American history of some of its darkest chapters and provide cathartic fun while doing so. Previously, he blew up slavery (or an embodiment of it) in Django Unchained and ended World War II by shooting Adolf Hitler and the Nazi high command’s faces before blowing up the cinema they were in.
1 Tarantino And Movie Violence
Tumblr media
Before leaving their car, Sadie convinces her fellow cultists to kill Rick and Cliff because they taught them violence through TV. Sadie parrots the beliefs of Nancy Pitman, a Manson fanatic who blamed cowboy shows not unlike Bounty Law for inspiring them.
Tarantino has defended his use of extreme fictional violence, angrily shutting down those who blamed his movies on actual violence. So far, this is his most direct response in film, where he has a Manson cultist cite the (fallacious) connection between real-world violence and cinema… only for her to be torched by a cowboy actor with a flamethrower.

Day 10 Osaka After checking out, we made our way across Osaka to our new Airbnb apartment - it was located in Ebisucho. On the way there Vicki informed us that this was a pretty sketchy area of Osaka as it had links to Yakuza, and that Japanese people often did not want to live there. However, we were in the Northern most part of it, and by Japanese standards when something is sketchy it really isn't sketchy... It's just like... Normal in the UK. In pretty much any city in Japan you can leave your belongs unattended and no one will even think about stealing them. According to Vicki, Hyde Park (Leeds, not London) was much more dangerous than Ebisucho. With that in mind we weren't really concerned at all as we went to drop our bags at the apartment before checking in. The apartment was located on the 9th floor of a high rise. We picked up the keys from the post box downstairs and made our way up. To her surprise, Maddy was greeted by a half naked Japanese man when she opened the door. He quickly slammed it back shut. We were very confused by this and assumed that we had made a mistake somehow, however it turned out that it was just the cleaner changing out of his work clothes... Poor guy! We dropped our bags off in what was a modest but pleasant apartment. The only minor issue being that the the wall between the bedroom and living room where I was sleeping was a retractable, three-part, translucent glass door. No big deal though - for the price, the location was excellent - very central! We headed out to check in at the office for the Airbnb, approx. a 15 min walk away. On the way we noted that Osaka was a lot more spacious than Tokyo, with wider roads and larger pavements. It looked like there were some cool shops around too, and in general it had a much more pleasant atmosphere - we all agreed that we thought we would enjoy Osaka a lot. We got to the address and couldn't see it anywhere, however on further inspection we noticed a small entrance leading to some offices in a high rise. On further inspection we noted the address did indeed state 6F, but the offices there had a strange name which escapes me - something to do with Lifestyle Services, perhaps. After confirming with the host that this was indeed the place we headed up to meet two girls in a disheveled office which was half office, half covered in old toys strewn across the floor. The girls were very friendly, but seemed to find everything amusing, giggling at every response. They then proceeded to speak some Spanish to Maddy and Ville because their home address was in Barca - not the first time that has happened in Japan! Another 'only in Japan' moment! We headed out of the offices and further into Osaka. Together, we checked out the 'Tekken Museum' in an arcade. It turned out to be a small collection of memorabilia from throughout the years, some hand drawings, and a couple of Tekken statues in opposition, along with a load of Tekken 7 machines. I grabbed a picture of me being punched by the Kazuya statue and we moved on. Maddy and Ville headed to a market and I made my way to get a haircut. Approx an hour later I emerged with a fresh fade, overly choppy fringe and overly thinned out top - the barber really didn't like how thick my hair was and ended up chopping into it for a long time! To be fair, it was a good cut overall, and I shouldn't complain too much. Despite the complaints above I'd still give it an 8/10. I was treated really well there as well - if you're even in Osaka and need a trim defo check out John Wayne barbers! Throughout my travels I've been using Tinder to try to meet fellow travellers or friendly locals as I'd heard it was good for making friends when travelling, however despite chatting to a few people we didn't meet up with anyone...Until today! I'd made friends with a girl on Tinder called Naoko from Osaka. She was into DJing, anime, gaming, eating out and going to bars... Perfect! She seemed like her English was close to perfect and we asked her to recommend us a place to eat where we could all hang out - she recommended Tachizushi a 10 min walk away from us. We agreed to meet and she warned me that her English wasn't great - this surprised me given how easily we'd been chatting through messages. We arrived at the restaurant pretty much on time and a cute Japanese girl with half black, half green hair approached us outside, it was Naoko! 📷 I was a little shocked as despite seeing her pics on Tinder/Insta I didn't realise she was only about 5ft tall - it's easy to forget that people are generally a lot shorter over here. To give you some context, I feel pretty tall in general here! She was very sweet and her English was definitely good enough to get by in England or make small talk but with some subjects a definite language barrier was present... Nothing that wasn't easily overcome by the Google Translate App, however - thank god! The Sushi was delicious and we all decided to carry on the night - asking Naoko to take us to some local bars. We ended up in this cool building which has a square corridor with loads of small, unique bars in it - including a Super Famicom (SNES) bar... Unfortunately that one was full, so we ended up in another bar called 'Individual'. This bar had a 2 player arcade table game, where you would take it in turns at playing a classic style space shoot'em up. In teams of two we once again competed against each other - Me and Nao defo had the upper hand overall, but Ville manage to set the highest score overall, much to my chagrin. Onwards to karaoke, but first into Dotonbori. This is a crazy area of Osaka, covered in neon and above a canal - we had briefly been there earlier, but it was nice to come back at night time. Naoko showed us a strange neon running man, which apparently is very popular and then explained to us that when the baseball team won people were jumping into the canal from the bridges. The whole top half of the area is covered in neon lights and huge anamorphic crabs and other animals on the side of the buildings. The bottom half is filled with bars, restaurants, arcades and street food. An amazing area, well worth visiting.📷📷 We headed to 'The Drunken Clam' - an English Karaoke bar - and had a great night, we met people from all over the world and sung and drank all night. It started out with a very dodgy rendition of My Name Is by Enimen (the less said, the better) and Maddy nervously singing Amy Winehouse (with a little bit of help from me!) but from then on we gained confidence and drunkenly decided to live stream a couple of our perfomances of Oasis and Linkin Park to Facebook - Cringe! Definitely a highlight of our trip so far - I would recommend karaoke to anyone - so much fun! We hit up one more bar - Zerro - with some Canadians we had met, including a dope tattoo artist, Scott (Insta: ShaolinMonkTattoos), who promised me a freebie if I ever came to visit him in Toronto, so, shout out to you Scott! I'm holding you to that! A little bit worse for wear we headed back to the apartment, with Naoko surprising us en route with some Japanese snacks for us to enjoy over the next couple of days - so lovely of her.
