Favorite Qsmp Moments By Yours Truly

Reblogged this post about my Top 3, and felt compelled to put down all the moments I remember the most fondly (which is a lot so good luck getting through the whole post, if you make it to end you get the eggs back on the server)

#Lore

Pretty much the entire Happy Pills arc (Philza seeing the fake room and fake Richas, the lead up to Forever pulling a gun on him, Cellbit and Forever's argument, Forever hysterically sobbing while talking to fake Richas, the reveal that Forever destroyed the entire goddamn server and forced the Fed to do a server rollback, the Curing, the calm afterwards)

Pac being walked back to Chume Labs by Cellbit after being cured, them having their heart to heart, Cellbit recognizing his struggle and telling him he saved himself and Forever, that he was a hero, and Pac quietly recovering in his first moment of peace since it all started.

The hospital visits when Forever was comatose. Philza, Bad and Cellbit's visits are the ones people talk about the most for the serious parts but Fit also visited and opened up a surprising amount, I feel like it said a lot about his character that he opened up to a man in a coma, desperate to get his words off his chest, but not trusting enough to tell someone who would remember them the next day

Bad getting really pissed at the Federation for the first time and lassoing Cucurucho to "walk him like a dog" (you could feel the anti-Federation sentiment really solidify in this moment, before it was more so Cellbit's personal vendetta but this became one of the moments that made it a server-wide stance)

Vegetta and later Foolish fighting off the Codes who were trying to kill Leo (the absolute stress from Foolish's fight when he kept shouting at Leo to warp out and her not doing it was unreal)

Tallulah's first death, how hard Fit, Forever and their eggs fought to protect her, and how absolutely furious Philza was

Pretty much every Forever and Cucurucho interaction post-Happy Pills; their dynamic was never the same after that, and you can see how tense Forever is every time he's alone with Cucurucho

Charlie's rampage after Flippa died the first time (pre-trial); he's too good at voice acting cause holy shit

Maxo's "King of the Codes" dream after his leg got infected

Quackity coming back after El Quackity vanished and being himself yet completely different (not remembering anyone, only speaking spanish, not being able to read or write), and Maxo and Roier sticking by him trying to press for answers while Q just wanted to build his house

Etoiles getting hyped for his big final fight with the Codes, and the excitement immediately being sapped out of him when he sees Pomme in the cage

The first time we saw a Federation worker other than Cucurucho (Cellbit was the first to see one I believe)

Tubbo's "Fire won't break it. TNT won't break it. I will." speech after Quackity abducted Fred

Funnies/Generally Cool

The Gordinho Gostozinho highlights (from funny ones like the Foolish and Austin kiss to lore like the ambush on El Quackity)

Foolish roleplaying being very fucking drunk in the club after the spiderbit wedding (him being like "you want a shot? I'll give you a fucking shot" and pulling out a gun and shooting Charlie was so goddamn funny, second time he shot Charlie that night); he was wildly good at roleplaying a drunk person and after the Brazil meetup where we learned he's apparently a tank when it comes to drinking I'm starting to see where it comes from lmao

Maxo waking up in Pierre's bed with his moan remix playing after he died during a serious lore moment, and his face of absolute defeat and bitter resentment actually had me struggling to breath from how hard I was laughing (also Baghera hysterically laughing at the clip and showing it to people)

Polis singing My Heart Will Go On with his very crunchy microphone to Cellbit (and Cell losing his shit)

Vegetta starting to suck off Foolish in the middle of a theater full of people the first fucking day the French were on the server, and the ensuing shouting from everyone angrily trying to stop them

Lawyer Jaiden/Bad/Quackity/Roier being genuinely really good at acting as lawyers (and lawyer Fit offering to bribe and then murder the judge if the trial didn't go their way. Also the trial derailing into exposing Foolish for his love life with Mariana for some reason)

All the victims of Eh Vegetta

The emotional rollercoaster that is the Frubbo arc, Tubbo's thirst tweets included

Felps

The first time the admins did a roundup of everyone's early-game builds and they kept showing Mariana's base with the negative buzzer sound, each time of which made Mariana more angry until he was just swearing in spanish

Mousey's first experiences in Lucky Ducks, and the pinpointable moments that led to her totally not gambling addiction

Abueloier (specifically his first interaction with Quackity cause of how good Roier is at making Q laugh with horny humor + the moment when Abueloier said he had been fighting with Roier for 20 years and Cellbit asked "how did you fight with a baby" and them cracking up cause Roier hadn't thought that part through)

Baghera being consistently bad at predicting mines for the sake of avoiding them

Fit killing Tubbo with the potato gun after he started strip teasing on Pac

That clip of Missa jumping off the wall to hit a bucket clutch, miscalculating and hitting part of the wall, falling further, hitting part of the wall again and getting downed on it, falling while downed, and finally hitting the ground where he was unable to clutch because he was downed, and immediately dying

Every moment where Tina is unhinged (her raging at Bad when he's being a nuisance, her being down horrendous for Bagi, etc)

Charlie talking about his dead daughter and Foolish interrupting him to ask if he lactates (Charlie doesn't usually hesitate with responses cause of how quick witted he is but he had to fully pause after that one)

Spreen teaching Fit how to do a line being his most meaningful contribution to their marriage

Felps Square, and the rise of Squole (Felps Square x Tubhole)

The Jaidens (and how hilariously shit they were at being stealthy)

The French Beast aka Etoiles various adventures destroying the Codes and typing his win streak in chat after every fight

Philza getting to really know Tazercraft during Tallulah's birthday party (seriously watch the clips Mike is fucking hilarious)

The post-lore hangout (might've been the election dinner?) where Foolish, Mouse, Tina, and Felps went dungeoning together; I got to learn more about Mouse, and the chemistry the Foolish/Tina/Mouse group had with Felps was really fun

Rivers being awkward as fuck around other people that aren't Roier

The entire trial of Juanaflippa, including Charlie and Mariana being in holding and breaking out

Antoine's "because he's a fucking troll" about Pierre

The moment when Kameto logged on

Forever calling Bad "sir" (if yk yk)

Fit complaining to Philza and co. about Spreen being a "fucking asshole husband who went out for cigarettes"

Missa singing When You're Gone during his dog funeral (I know this sounds sad but it was really fucking funny, Missa's language vocabulary is 70% incompressible whimpering)

Fit losing his absolute mind after Cucuruchito started heavy flirting with him out of no where

Vegetta's mines and all the carnage they have caused (you could make a whole comp from just the French's arrival)

That era where Tazercraft where abusing create mod and breaking Federation shit near on the daily (the poor admins lmao)

Forever and Bad exploring the Federation construction site and Forever making Cucurucho drink his pee before being shot at for making Cucurucho drink his pee

Okay so hear me out here on this one.

The party comes up with an impromptu family meeting and leave Steve & Eddie out of it. They’re all sick of them flirting and not just realizing they have feelings for each other, but they’re also fully bullying each other so it kind of clouds their chances if taking the other seriously if there was a confession. Steve hasn’t quite gotten past his slip of the tongue snide remarks even though he’s getting better at catching himself (I mean see the Dustin teeth comment) and Eddie slips back into thinking everyone who isn’t outwardly an outsider is unsafe and bad (goes back into his monologue mentality). So they’re being mean and flirting, but mostly kinda just being mean to each other. Dustin and Robin are the main ones who come up with the idea of essentially HR sensitivity training them, Max stealing an anti-bullying VHS from Ms. Kelly’s office.

SO THE PLAN:

They tell them they’re all doing a movie night in the Wheelers’ basement (just happens to be a weekend when they’ll be visiting grandma with Holly) and Eddie falls for it first, his last audible words are “why is the basement all padded-“ before El slams and locks the door. Steve gets off Family Video with Robin an hour later (so Eddie’s just kind of stuck down there wondering how he got tricked LMAO) and she insists he goes first and he’s like “okay ya big weirdo”. He gets down there, sees Eddie frazzled as all hell with no one else, realizes they got got. Robin yells something like “WE JUST THOUGHT YOU NEEDED A LESSON ON ZERO TOLERANCE” and the video starts playing with another door slam. BUT under the tapes is another movie (probably something nerdy but fun like Little Shop of Horrors or Labyrinth) with a note and a six pack saying they can drink IF they can finish the anti-bullying tape. They both groan, but watch it, making comments on it the whole time definitely dogging on it and the acting being “unrealistic”.

THEN THE AFTERMATH:

But they make it through the tape, they even roleplay being nice (albeit, sarcastically). Steve says something like “I don’t want to watch this nerdy shit now” and Eddie goes “BULLYING, YOU’RE BULLYING ME HARRINGTON!” They end up cracking the beers and Steve ends up LOVING the movie. When Eddie gives him shit, he repeats the bullying line back and they laugh their asses off. Then when the party FINALLY check on them, they look all disheveled. They both start rattling off things they learned from the movie and promise to be better friends, no more bullying. Robin and Dustin get those shiteating grins on their faces, of course Steve figures out Robin first, Eddie figures out Dustin next with a “oh you fuckin’ SHITHEADS!” They give each other high fives, Lucas has to give Max $5.

BONUS:

Mike goes “I can’t believe that-“ 💡 idiot moment then “I have to start bullying Will, I HAVE TO START BULLYING WILL!” he runs off and everyone’s like “WHAT WHY” but Eddie figures it out first and runs out of the basement screaming “WHEELER, NO! NO NO NO! FUCK!”

RULE SIX i am both selective and incredibly slow/sporadic at checking out blogs before following. please be patient with me! i am oc friendly, duplicate friendly, and rp twin friendly as well.

i haven't forgotten about our thread! you don't need to remind me. my muse comes and goes, and adhd brain takes over most of the time. sporadic replies apply. sometimes you'll get a reply within ten minutes, sometimes it'll be months. this is a hobby that i enjoy and never want anyone else to feel pressured to respond.

RULE SEVEN if you have certain tags blacklisted i make sure that i use the format #cw ____ with no other special characters. there will be dark content mentioned or touched on occasion regarding: general vio_lence, unethical experimentation, mental illness, and parental ab_use (both mental and physical). I make sure that I always tag these when writing.

small little disclaimer: although i write dark content like the subjects listed above, as a domestic ab_use survivor myself with diagnosed mental illness, I treat these subjects with care and NEVER as 'whump factor'. Things like C-PTSD and ab_use is something serious and should be treated as such.

RULE EIGHT basic ettiquette applies here. i cut my threads, i use reblog karma, and i start a new post for ask answers. i ask that my roleplaying partners do the same. i also reserve the right to unfollow/softblock at any times if i feel as if we are not a good match as roleplaying partners or if i find the content to not match with the content i am trying to write. i am also never offended if any other parties do the same to me.

RULE NINE for shipping: both of us will need to opt-in for it to be applied. i will never force ships on anyone, and i ask that others do the same. that goes for 'canon ships' as well. If those are referenced they are ALWAYS from a 'different version' of your muse. i also don't write smut on here. not really what i'm looking for in writing, but i'm totally fine with some nsfw on dash.

RULE TEN multi-storyline threads. i enjoy both including things from other storylines - with the permission of all parties - and keeping everything separate. I usually just follow the lead of my roleplaying partner's preferences.

RULE ELEVEN ask memes are always the easiest for me to break the ice, but if our muses are supposed to have a pre-established relationship, I'll want to reach out and make sure that we both have an idea of what is 'canon' and how we want their relationship to proceed. basically: i assume nothing except what i learn on your character bio and rules. most of my stuff is pre-52 (and by most i mean all of it), but i've been catching up on infinite frontier stuff to keep things fresh, and current. this information doesn't have to effect our rp threads.

RULE TWELVE i am not practicing mains on this account, currently.

RULE THIRTEEN OOC =/= IC. My ideals and morals are not to be reflected in that of the expression/actions/and thoughts of my characters.

The Stickmin Run: a loose ruleset for Loathing roleplay

So I'm incredibly mentally ill about stick games (surprising nobody) and my favorite thing about both The Henry Stickmin Collection and the Loathing series is the palpable sense of chaos, absurdity, and nonsensical things that seem totally normal to everyone within the narrative. When I first got my hands on West of Loathing, I was knee deep in the HSC hyperfixation, and I saw a few connections between the games and ended up creating this ruleset for a very specific Loathing game roleplay exercise: playing a Loathing game as one of Henry's ancestors or distant relatives.

The idea is that you will use this made-up connection to push the concept that Henry's bloodline has literally Always Been Like This, and with this concept, take the most absurd route available to you within the confines of the game

Basic Rules

These rules qualify your run as a Stickmin Run.

Character must have the surname "Stickmin"

Must play the game in as silly a manner as possible (i.e. Using the book of silly walks in West, being employed everywhere in Shadows, checking the arachnophilia and phonia boxes in Shadows [as long as you can handle the spiders], etc)

Play your character with an incurable case of kleptomania - steal EVERYTHING.

Hoard everything - you cannot sell an item unless it has the blue Just sell it tag in the item description.

Take routes of nonviolence whenever possible - always default to trickery, deception, or other assorted nonviolent silliness in pursuit of your goals. Some fights are unavoidable, but most of them can be circumvented with good stats or requisite skills.

Never surrender - NEVER give up on anything. If the game lets you try again, ALWAYS try again. Failure is but a path to success. Never surrender to random encounters - if the only way out is fighting, treat that encounter like an unavoidable fight.

Optional Guidelines

Follow these suggestions for the full experience.

Choose moxie classes - Moxie classes get by on trickery, sabotage, and general absurdity, which is exactly what we're looking for. This isn't required - I've met many a worthy Stickmin cow puncher or cheese wizard - but for the full experience, play like a bard.

Become ungovernable - even when working with the government, Henry is tacitly anti- authority. You answer to no one but your friends. At most, you could be a hired hand (such as assisting the sheriff in Dirtwater) but no government can truly hold a Stickmin down.

Chaotic Good - Henry makes many bad decisions over the course of the multiverse, sure, but I don't think I'd ever describe him as an out-and-out villain. Sure, you cause chaos, but the fate of the world is at stake here! Help the hobos, avoid shadow taint, seal the El Vibrato portals, and send those Cows back to hell where they came from.

Don't half- ass it - alternatively, if you DO wanna be a villain, no Stickmin worth their salt has time to pussyfoot around. Lean ALL THE WAY IN. if you're gonna go the villainous route, go FULL TILT and take absolutely no prisoners. No middle sliders allowed.

Wiki is your friend - there are many ways to solve problems in the Loathing games, but our boy Henry usually only gets one. As such, feel no shame in using wikis and steam guides to their full extent. Look up every event you encounter to ensure that you always make the best decisions - oftentimes in the Loathing series, you don't get other chances.

Reject tradition - who says a Snake-Oiler's gotta use moxie weapons? Stickmins are at their best flying by the seats of their pants. Equip wildly unfitting clothing and weapons and see if you can force yourself to find some off-meta strategies! Be creative! If you're a real stat hound but still want a bit more unconventional silliness, collect weapons that don't match your class stat and then use items to convert them.

Kinda gay to have a life partner - run with one sidekick for the whole game and construct an elaborate and dramatic relationship between the two of you in the lore of your character.

And most importantly, have fun - fuck rules! Feel free to tweak any part of this post, I dunno, I'm not the boss of you. A true Stickmin is beholden to none other but themselves!

So yeah! That's the essence of the Stickmin Run. I hope you have fun with this little ruleset, and I encourage anyone who makes a Loathing character along these lines to drop me an ask and tell me all about them! I'd be absolutely chuffed to hear it.

Things Get Better?: LGBTQ Representation in Animation in 2022 [Part 2]

In 2022, there was a plethora of LGBTQ characters in Western animation, from gay warriors Orc and Iago in Battle Kitty to a lesbian drama teacher in Dee Dee Holloway in Big Nate. Other series featured gay couples (as in Baymax!), gay and lesbian parents (as in Firebuds), and many other lesbian, bisexual, non-binary, and queer characters. [3]

Reprinted from Pop Culture Maniacs and Wayback Machine. This was the nineteenth article I wrote for Pop Culture Maniacs. This post was originally published on January 16, 2023.

Some series had more representation than others. One of these was The Legend of Vox Machina, airing on Amazon Prime and based on the Critical Role roleplaying podcast, which featured lesbian, bisexual, and queer characters, specifically Vex'ahlia "Vex" de Rolo, Vax'ildan "Vax" Vessar, Lady Kima, Keyleth of the Air Ashari, Scanlan Shorthalt, and Lady Allura Vysoren. Stephanie Beatriz, a bisexual actress, voiced two of these characters: Lady Kima and Lady Allura. In addition, there were was a reboot of Monster High which premiered on Nickelodeon in fall 2022, with more gender diversity and LGBTQ characters, such as a non-binary monster named Frankie Stein and two lesbian moms (Medusa and Lyra).

Just as powerful was the reboot of The Proud Family in a series named The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. It aired on Disney+ from February to April of 2022. Created by the same person as the original, Bruce W. Smith, it includes three gay characters: Randall Leibowitz-Jenkins, Barry Leibowitz-Jenkins, and Michael Collins. There were also one-time lesbian characters and queer vibes among other characters, who are part of the show's mostly Black cast.

One of these characters is Maya, a 14-year-old anti-racist activist voiced by Keke Palmer. Although Palmer is an actress who has described herself as sexually fluid and queer, it remains to be seen whether Maya will be "sexually fluid and queer as much as Palmer is in real-life."

This was followed, later in 2022, by the much-expected Dead End: Paranormal Park, which Netflix recently cancelled. This series broke barriers as the first animated series with a trans protagonist named Barney Guttman. He is voiced by a trans male actor, Zach Barack. The show also includes Norma Khan who likes multiple genders and is ambiguously queer, and Courtney, who is non-binary. This series goes beyond the barrier-breaking of High Guardian Spice, a series by a trans male creator, Raye Rodriguez, who voiced one of the show's characters (Caraway), or the trans male lead character in Wendell & Wild (Raúl Cocolotl), who was said to be the first trans man in an animated film.

2022 heralded the end of the much-beloved Disney series, Amphibia. The series featured LGBTQ characters who were confirmed after the show's finale, like bisexual Sasha Waybright, voiced by bisexual actress Anna Akana. There's also Mr. X, Frodrick Toadstool, and Toadie who are gay, Yunan and Lady Olivia who are lesbian, Ally who is pansexual, and Jess who is bisexual.

25. Adult Harry.

This one is a Lord Of The Rings/Harry potter crossover. EWE, MOD HARRY, Powerful!Harry. He has custody of teddy, and he is going to a rough time dealing with his relationship with Ginny not working out, him not being over the trauma left by the war and the general trauma of his life, The ministry is growing even more anti-dark than before, and goes against werewolves, vampires, everything non-light, including the so rumoured mod. Harry, with Hermione's and Ron's help, finds a way to run away and ends up with Teddy in Middle Earth. This was, probably, Legolas/Harry, but hadn't figured out the pairing just yet.

THIS ONE, It was my work for the Call me Daddy fest. I am dropping out of that one, so I can talk a little about it here.

The prompt I was working with was: Monsterfucking. So I guess this one was/is a DD fic.

I won't be posting it for the fest, because it turned into a multichaptered fic and I am not feeling like forcing myself to finish it before the fest AND I do not want to post a multichapter fic all at once.

45. El chico en el camino de tierra

So, buckle up because this is going to be a long ride. This is an original story that started as a fic from a roleplay pairing i had with a friend. That roleplay worked as a writing cooperation, i guess. Anyway, Evan, who is "el chico en el camino de tierra", is a ghost that lives in an old family house and he doesn't remember his life. The last owners he remembers ran away from the house because of him. The child of the couple could see him, and loved to play with him. Evan loved him. The toddler's mum freaked out because she couldn't see Evan, so they moved away.

The house and Evan were left forgotten for decades, and Evan drifted away, losing days, weeks, months and even years of existence and memories. He even forgot his own name for a while. One day, someone shows up. A (hot, blond daddy in his 30 moves in with his daughter (5yo)) with the dream of turning the house into an inn or something like that. His name is Lewis and while he is visiting in the middle of the renovation, surprise! He sees and talks to Evan, not even noticing he is not alive. This first encounter happens on the edge of the property, on the old dirt path that leads to the house.

Evan, who hates what is happening to his house, tries to sabotage the renovation. The next time Lewis sees him, Evan is just outside of the house, lewis tries to touch him and bum! His hand goes through Evan.

That's chapter 1, I had lots and lots of plots for this story, and it still lives rent-free inside my head. That's the reason why it is on this wip list.

I totally get that, it took me a while to return back to the community of closed roleplay groups! I’m so happy you decided to dip your toes back in the pool! Any and all open roles would make me so happy to see filled, but right now I’m more so looking at an Overseer / Handler position for Red Eye, the CEO position for Anunnaki Pharmaceuticals, the other owner and retired assassin for the Borderline Hotel, the boss position for the Burning Gods, the owner for El Anhelo, one of the leaders for the Executioners, a Jazz musician / performer for the Godfather House Of Blues, a soldier or associate position for the Jade Tribe, the CFO for Old World Casino, the owner ( White Crocodile member ) for Ralph’s Boxing Gym, any Replicant position for Stoneage Industries, and a capo position for the White Crocodiles! You can see all the roles here, go for a little browse, my dear! I welcome any and all types of characters! For now, I’d like to see more anti-hero characters ( someone who lacks conventional attributes of a typical media-represented protagonist ), more villainous characters, more rose-coloured glasses characters ( naive, sees the world for the good in it, etc ), and perhaps more morally-corrupt individuals who perhaps are struggling with doing the right thing versus doing the easy thing.
