WLTS Vol II Character Intro: Leandro Serrano

We're excited to show off the first of our character sheets— depending on our graphic design mod's schedule, we hope to get a few more out before the interest check closes!

First up, we're pleased to introduce the first of our two main characters: You know him as the blue paladin and the galaxy's loverboy Lance in Voltron, and the resident sharpshooter double agent of Valyrian in WLTS, welcome Leandro!

If you're interested in exploring Leandro's character and story more (either as a contributor to help create it, or as a reader), make sure to fill out the interest check before it's too late! We can only go forward with this project if we have enough responses on the interest check!

Background: With the energy of both a bard and a rogue, I work as field agent for Valyrian (an anti-Malod Empire rebellion) after getting my cover blown as a double agent on Ulzani, the capital planet for the Malod Empire. Having lived on Ulzani since I left Earth at 18, I have picked up a variety of useful skills. A jack-of-all-trades, I sometimes (very rarely!!!) get a bit in over my head, but I always have a plan— almost always, at least.

Geto-sama doesn’t use social media, so Nanako and Mimiko are here to answer any and all questions you may have for them about him by hosting a limited Q&A before our Interest Check ends Friday, November 10th.

From now until 11:59 EST on Sunday, November 12th, we encourage you to submit questions you want the twins to answer about Geto Suguru. All responses to the Q&A event will be tagged as “Hasaba Q&A” We also welcome any technical questions about Bodhisattva as well; these questions will be tagged “Q&A” and we will continue answering general zine inquiries beyond the Nanako & Mimiko Q&A Event.

This Q&A Event is a chance to learn more about Geto-sama from Nanako and Mimiko directly, so go ahead and ask whatever you'd like to know and they will do their best to answer.

Please keep your questions age-appropriate for the twins.

We will try to answer as many questions as possible, but may not get around to every received ask, as the girls have plans to get crepes with Geto-sama this week. Alternatively they may avoid questions that are too similar to ones they've already answered.

Nanako and Mimiko are choosing to ignore that this project features two characters, and not only Geto-sama; so while you are free to ask questions about Kenjaku, you may not receive a warm response.

After 11:59 EST on Thursday November 9th, the Q&A event will be closed, and we will no longer answer your questions about Geto-sama, but will continue to answer all zine inquiries.

Answering a few questions from our Interest Check form (which you can still fill out 💜❤️) below the cut!

I'm new to this kind of event. How do I participate?

Good news! If you're interested in participating and you filled out the form to tell us so, you're already doing it right. For now, take a look through our Rules/FAQs document, and watch this blog for updates! The next big date for us is April 13th, when we'll officially open sign-ups via a form similar to the Interest Check.

Is it a problem if English isn't my native language?

Not at all! We're a global event, and we're happy to have anyone who wants to ramble about Klapollo with us. Entries and most communication should be in English for safety purposes, though, since the mods are only guaranteed to be able to moderate English.

Do I have to be established in the fandom to take part?

Nope! We'd love to be the event that sparks your first finished piece or your first fandom friendships! ❤️💜 Folks of all skill levels and at all levels of familiarity with the greater AA canon are so, so welcome. There's no selection process or anything—you just sign up on the 13th to commit to the rules and timeline, and we'll send you an email when things are ready.

Do you include beta reading?

All participants are allowed (and encouraged) to take beta reading roles to do peer reading, but there's no enforced beta period and no guarantee that anyone's piece will be beta read—it's up to individuals to make those connections. The same goes for adding alt-text to art; while we'd love to encourage everyone to make their pieces accessible, it's not enforced for this event, but there will be people in the server who will help anyone develop alt-text if desired. We do recommend using an email address/document sharing method that does not include your real actual legal name! We only ever need your fandom name, and we want everyone to take care if you plan to share your docs with anyone for beta reading.

Is it possible to pair up with someone we already know or who we previously worked with?

Definitely! on the sign-up form, there will be a field that allows you to enter the name/username of a partner you want to work with. Your partner will also need to enter your name in their copy of the form! There will be a grace period between the server opening and matchups being made during which people can contact mods to say "Hey! We just met each other in the chat, and now we want to work together!"
