No doubt her gentle aid would have enlivened the ailing atmosphere in here, subdued and silent as students and teachers stared into the middle distance or discussed matters of interest in small groups. Or rather, it would have been an ailing atmosphere were it not for a student barreling into the tent, clearly battered and bruised, eyes bright with adrenaline. 'Hey! There's a dragon fighting somebody outside!' It's unclear who said it, but the specifics are quickly rendered unimportant in the flurry of students racing towards the opening of the tent. L'Arachel is at the forefront, and so is able to watch unobstructed as a hulking black dragon turn into her three-legged-race partner. 'Kurthnaga?!' She exclaims, racing towards him, her heated cloth flying into a student who had been unfortunate enough to stand behind her. 'You didn't tell me you were a dragon!' There's reproach in her tone, but also, fairly transparently, delight.

"Oh? Did I never mention it?" Kurthnaga laughs out softly as he heads in the direction of the med tent only to be greeted by a shouting L'arachel. While he says it as an offside of a fact that he never happened to bring up, the truth is that he had never meant to. But it would have been dishonorable, to face a true battle - a mock battle still felt real enough if there was blood being spilled, even if it wasn't to kill - as Goldoa's king while holding a mere frying pan in his hand. His father could have been watching; and what would he have done then?

He had to fight with honor no matter what. Was that not what being a king, a leader, meant in one way or another?

"Oh, there is probably something else I should mention, while I am revealing things. May I talk to you over here for a second?" He tugs on her arm, pulling her towards a more secluded - not much more, but he would hope that no one is eavesdropping anyway - area by the med tents carefully. He stops, clearing his throat gently, "In truth, in my home kingdom of Goldoa, I am not just any dragon, but their king."

I followed you originally for skyblings art but oh my god your art is so amazing it’s insane. I have a very specific purpose on tumblr you are one of few blogs that does not align with that because I had to make sure I saw all your posts. I don’t know how you do that with a pencil. I still regularly search your blog or twitter for the skyblings art and look at it again it’s so cute

I am someone who generally struggles understanding what’s going on with artworks but yours even without colour are so clear.

I’ve tried to break down a favourite artwork of mine from people but genuinely I can not pick for you. Please keep creating art the world is better when you create and inspire others to create (something I know for sure you are doing because your art is too phenomenal to not be an inspiration)

this is for a prompt fic that i randomly got the idea for before my work shift akdsjfh so. I have a little snippet.

“You should gather the guild, Koharu. I heard Calantha means to take you on a mission.” He grins down at her. Koharu’s eyes widen, and she stands up straight. Her mouth curls into a determined grin. “Whatever it is, I’m ready for it. I give you both my word.” Hien laughs. “I don’t doubt it. But you need not worry. It’s one you can't fail. If you give her a moment, Calantha will meet you at the Thousand Stalls. She needs your help collecting treasure.” Calantha raises an eyebrow. “Treasure?” Koharu wrinkles her nose. “In the Thousand Stalls? How?” Hien tilts his head. “It can be found in the form of ame-zaiku. She needs each of you to pick one. It is of the utmost importance.” Koharu gasps. “Wait, really?” She turns to Calantha. “You mean you’re giving one to all of us? The entire guild?” Calantha runs a hand through her hair. “If Lord Hien says it’s true, then you’d best believe him.” Hien claps Koharu on the shoulder. “Go on! Wait for her there. She won’t be long.” She laughs and starts off at a sprint, clutching her hat to keep it from flying off. Her voice fades into the distance as she calls the others. Calantha shakes her head. “And why did you just promise her I'd give them all candy?”

HIYA its been a while oomfie. I wanted to ask if I can ask questions that vaguely allude to XC3 -- nothing that hits your blacklist but like. Questions about say Ruby and what you think her class would hypothetically be in XC3 type thing

Hello, friend!! It has been a bit, but it’s nice to hear from you!! I hope that you’re doing well at the moment, and also, thank you for sending this!

It really means a lot to me that you want to know more about Ruby!!! I’d be happy to take questions about her, it’ll be a good way of developing her more. You can ask whatever you specifically want to ask, whether it’s about Ruby or anything else - I just can’t guarantee I’ll be able to answer in very much specific detail or in a way that’s very game story-compliant. But, I’ll still absolutely try and give it a go!! I do feel like I have at least a decent grasp on some of the XC3 characters, as a result of hearing people - largely you, actually! - talking about them online here and there, but I still have little-to-no experience of gameplay, either from playing my own copy or from watching footage online (since I have not done either of these things). I know someone did some really good blade and driver guides for XC2, so if they’ve done the same thing for the XC3 characters, that will hopefully be a good resource.

Regarding your hypothetical question about class, the one thing I can tell you is that Ruby would be an attacker class, because this both matches her parents (Pyra and Sapphire) and would fit in well with her friends from XC2 (Ursula and Poppi, who are a healer and rank respectively). ..That’s definitely all I have so far because I’ve only just decided on it, but I’ll definitely try and think about it more/am happy to talk it through with you if you want to know more!!

Kurthnaga stares at his father, always an imposing man but even more so now that they had to fight against each other.

“Father! Please think about what you’re doing!” He shouts as his hands tremble, balled into fists at his side. He doesn’t want to fight at all, let alone fight his father. Couldn’t they just talk about this? Or was it too late to mend what was already broken?

“The time for words has passed,” Ah. Kurthnaga tries to keep the tears from bubbling up in his eyes as Father speaks, confirming what the young dragon had feared, “the only option remaining is to stop you with brute force.”

No! He couldn’t do this. He couldn’t be forced to… he didn’t even want to think about the possibility of his father dying here, much less by his own hands, “Why? Father, why?” He begs for answers that he’s not going to get, tries not to let the snot bubbling his throat clog his words. Father wouldn’t say anything; was that not how they had got here in the first place though? Because Father refused to communicate, refused to accept anything that wasn’t his own stubborn ideas.

“That is enough!” Goldoa’s youngest flinches at the volume of Dheginsea’s voice. Was it so wrong to ask questions? To be curious about why he was doing this? To be curious about the world in general? “You, Kurthnaga, were to rule the dragon tribe in years to come,” He didn’t want to rule, not until Father was sick and bound to bed in old age. It was a place never meant for him anyway. It supposed to be Rajaion, not Kurthnaga. It was too late now though for thoughts like that, Raja was gone and there was no choice but him, “Show me that you would have been capable!”

“Been” as if he was going to find his end here. He probably would, if they did not stop Ashera. But if they did… he could still… he could still be capable.

“But-” He knows protesting is pointless. Father clearly isn’t going to back down, and if Kurthnaga does, then it will be the end of all of them. Goldoa’s youngest has no choice but to proceed forward, “Yes, sir… I’ll show you.”

He had to. For the sake of the world and his own heart. It wasn’t easy, but it had to be done. If there was any path forward, Kurthnaga had to take it. He would not tie himself down to his father and his outdated ideas anymore.

After this was all over, Kurthnaga would help form a new Goldoa, one that was more open, less stubborn in the face of change.

But for now,

He just had to fight.

It's easy to get stagnant when he's feeling bad, and doing stuff with you is his favorite thing!!

He'll 100% try to hide his hands/lay weirdly so you can't see em, just out of General Insecurity. So just. remind him that he's being silly, because you give not a single fuck about em smndsmd!!!

Also one that he never expects, but always seems to help?? Just. remind him it's temporary. Like he knows this song-and-dance, he's done it a thousand times before, he'll do it a thousand times again, and even if it sucks rn it's not unsurvivable.
