despite the all-consuming fh obsession, I could never call myself a Jimmy understander on the same level that I understand Scott or even any other perspective I watch regularly and for the longest time I’ve wondered what makes him the exception. Come to find out: I am overestimating his complexities

His SOS tierlist got me thinking about how he views other people, and how that relates to who he is as a person. The justifications for each tier are all very surface-level or silly (“sausage put salmon in my base!! E-tier >:( “ despite being buddy buddy with him the previous episode) and I realized that’s because Jimmy exists on the surface level. Deeper reasoning and additional clauses do not exist, everything exists in simplicity (see: Martyn keeping a grudge after their fight in 3L, while Jimmy is confused as to why they can’t just act like friends anymore). How he interacts with someone is a direct reflection of how they interact with him and it’s why he folds so easily when people are nice. Jimmy is translucent, he is his emotional core and you can’t meaningfully dig deeper than that because (most of the time) there isn’t anything else there.

i think its really funny that with every other ghost hunting channel ever, a good chunk of the appeal is 'woah are they gonna find real ghosts?' or whatever and they make these really over the top videos about it acting like every single thing is definitively ghosts and cant possibly be any other thing (or they completely faked it themselves) and they dont really shine as people quite as much and theyre probably trying to appeal to kids with this style of video, or just make it exciting so it doesnt feel like its just people in an empty old house blah blah

but then we have shane and ryan who have literally never found proof, they dont really pretend theyve ever found proof (ryan has thought so a few times but he doesnt exactly sit around going 'holy shit remember that piece of proof we found one time that totally proved we found ghosts!' which a lot of channels do in my experience)

i could be like entirely wrong but i like that gerbo is only super agreeable to the things bugbo says and suggests him to do because he likes him and they’re best friends. i feel like the way he acts around bugbo could be mistaken as gerbo being a gullible person who has no backbone but based off his interactions with other characters i feel like its safe to say thats wrong! both cases were already tense situations but when seen talking with characters like quentin and thomas gerbo clearly can tell that whatever they’re doing is wrong and further he doesn’t even remotely need bugbo’s voice to tell him that. like he just flat out calls thomas evil after talking to him for like 2 minutes he’s not a 100% pushover lol. my main point apart from gerbo is smarter than most probably think is he’s so easily swayed by bugbo because he trusts him so much and he KNOWS him he knows bugbo only has everyone’s best interest in mind and nothing he tells him would be to harm him
