I've started to make attempts to write the Stardew Valley fic I posted about but lately, it's been me writing and deleting everything and rewriting it again. Like I want my farmer & Elliott to get into a drunk argument over Shane & for my farmer to defend Shane in their argument because they feel so strongly that Shane is more than what he appears to be, that most people tend to attempt to interact with him and his pushy fuck off defence works a little too well on most people and thus they tend to just write him off as not worth attempting to make conversations with.

I swear to god i really need to make a reference sheet lmao i hate looking at some of the ones that arent even that old??? its scary... the consistency has gotten better recently i think but still... :shudder: I see them in my notifs when tumblr decides to recommend old posts to people (EW!!!!! Okay so I need a moment to ramble about my skyrim oc and the follower mod I picked for his playthrough, Eliondos and Taliesin. These two are my roman empire I swear to god I wish I had any bit of artistic talent to draw them together but anyway onto the dynamic I have in mind for these boys. So Eliondos is absolutely smitten with this mf, he's got a soft spot in his heart for the sarcastic sort of playful asshole types and Taliesin absolutely ticks that box for him. Eliondos is kinda a himbo, an altmer who's good with weapons but doesn't have a lick of magical talent. He was born in Skyrim to his mother an altmer, and his father a nord who both now live in cyrodill. He also has a twin brother who he's a few minutes older than. He gets by mainly with mercenary work and hunting.

Back to his relationship dynamic with Taliesin though. Eliondos found him funny at first, thought they'd make good friends but quickly found himself falling for the guy. Thought he just wanted to sleep with him at first but upon closer inspection of his own feelings he realized he genuinely really likes Taliesin. Normally as forward as he is he'd just tell whoever he has an interest in that he has an interest in them but it doesn't feel that easy with Taliesin, he's so nervous about ruining what friendship he has with him so he just doesn't say anything, content to just have him along with him on his journeys and admire from afar till he can get his shit together and muster the confidence to tell Taliesin how he feels. Part of that nervous feeling stems from the fact that Eliondos has never really had a serious relationship before and has never really let many people get truly close to him (he has some nervousness when it comes to real intimacy and commitment). But Taliesin has wormed his way into Eliondos' heart.

Anyway thanks for coming to my ted talk that I'm sure no one will read but I really wanted to just type out somewhere

Trying to decide how to handle the Nighthaven split for Notch. Since OBVIOUSLY Ace chose to stay with them, that would not only hurt her deeply, but would also piss her off royally.

My ramblings are below more for myself than anyone else lol

I had always planned for them to meet and have a standoff, which ends with Notch holding a knife to his neck, and him smiling and saying he missed her.

Notch truly being about to kill him when Kali shoots her and Ace panics, but gets drug away. Called weak for not simply killing her in the first place.

Notch wakes up in the infirmary pissed as hell, obviously.

She has no idea that Ace stays because Kali has threatened her life if he doesn't. She fully believes he's just being an egotistical prick (not entirely off brand for him tbh).

In the wake of that encounter, Doc and Notch get closer bc she's trying to heal up, and he wants to make sure she doesn't do anything reckless. She gets placed with Wolfguard when she's back to 100%, and starts taking missions alongside them.

Closeness with Doc persists until one late night he finally kisses her. Knows he can't replace Ace, and tells her as much, but says he'd like to try.

Kali has ears to the ground, so she tells Ace. He doesn't believe her until she shows him footage (idk I assume she has the place, like, bugged whatever) and he's absolutely broken by it.

The next time they encounter each other, Notch sees Ace and takes off after him before Doc can stop her. Ace refuses to fight back as she's just (Frank Costanza voice) RAINING BLOWS UPON HIM. She's pissed, telling him to stop being a coward and fight, but he can't bring himself to do it.

Doc is trying to get to them, and Ace makes an offhand comment about how she'll be safer with him anyway, and she realizes he knows and that she may have misjudged the situation.

Doc finds them and Ace takes off to retreat, leaving poor Notch with more questions and a weight on her conscience :(

Doc knows something is up, because she's distant after the encounter. He finally confronts her and she tells him she's conflicted, unsure of what to do or how to feel. Doc admits he was always upset that Ace got to her first and begs for a chance to make her forget about him.

(insert angst ridden fucking that does NOT make her feel any better)

Alone in her quarters later that night, she texts Ace on a whim (knowing he hasn't answered her texts since the split). To her utter shock he answers and asks to meet her.

SIKE it's Kali there and she's like "you have distracted my operator enough" and SHOOTS her ass. Notch is coherent enough to dial Doc before she passes out.

Doc is obviously very hurt by the fact that immediately after fucking him, she wanted to meet Ace, but he bites his tongue because of her brush with death. LION of all people is the one to come to her like 'he really does care about you, like, a LOT and this is making him sloppy in the field. I hate the guy but he's not covering our asses like he should be. In fact, I hate both of you, good day. Au revoir etc etc"

Notch tells herself that Ace made a choice (he didn't really have one), and that she has to let him go for good. Plus, she's yanking Doc around and he's having a very French meltdown over it apparently.

So, she comes to terms with letting him go and apologizes to Doc, telling him she's willing to give him a chance.

Kali moves another piece on her chessboard of evil.

also knowing who is "safe" is really important, at least for me. Because not everyone is safe to give yourself over to, not everyone can handle the full breadth of yourself and your past, and that's OK! With some people you don't have to explain yourself or your past or why you act the way you do, sometimes that dumping onto them can cause more problems than intended. This doesn't mean you have to keep everything inside, it just means you have to find how to appropriately discuss your emotions and feelings with people who are safe.

I think it’d be neat for Gillion to return back to Jay and Chip with the complete understanding that the reason he has been met with disappointed faces and displeased Elders his whole life is because he wasn’t truly told right from wrong. That just following what he took from their teachings wasn’t enough. That this definition of destiny he’s created his entire life around isn’t real. It isn’t “correct”.

I want Gillion Tidestrider to return to his friends as just Gillion Tidestrider. Not a Champion or ex-Champion. Not a Chosen One. Just Gillion Tidestrider. A Co-Captain of the Riptide Pirates. A friend.

I want to see Gillion build himself up from square one. To see how he deals with the fact that destiny isn’t there to really guide him to greatness, or to be his reassurance that everything will be okay in the end. Pretzel is, as far as we know for now, gone. Is that going to be the first thing Gillion gets told? To have already come to terms that he’s lost this animal that’s been by his side for a long ass time, only to basically lose her again? Pretzel, now without the reassurance of destiny, is the final constant that Gillion knows, from childhood. That’d be hard for anyone to lose especially in Gill’s circumstances.

If he leans on those he trusts now, has he finally learnt a valuable enough lesson to prove the Elder’s wrong? That he can be what they expected. That he just needed the right people, that the training sessions were the problem, not him.
