Space Pirates (name still undecided) WIP Intro

What Is It?

Title: TBD

Genre: Dark romance, horror, sci-fi, fantasy (a whole mess of things)

Status: 150k into a first draft and I'm not even halfway through the plot

Summary: 10 years ago the Monroe family home was burned to the ground when the pirate Zephyr and his crew raided it and stole their eldest children, 16-year-old Sirena Monroe and 18-year-old Tobias Monroe and the teenagers were assumed dead when no ransom was asked. Today, Felicity and Rosalia Monroe, the twins who were left behind, find their family home cursed and those within it trapped in time, doomed to fade into shadows if the curse isn't undone. With the advice and help of a witch, they disguise themselves and find a crew willing to take them to Pluto, a place no one goes. The Captian and first mate of this ship are faces that the twins had thought they would never see again and, as they soon realize, a lot can change in 10 years.

How It's Written: I'm weaving together Felicity and Rosalia's quest and Tobias and Sirena's 10 years in alternating POV chapters. So there would be a Sirena chapter taking place at the start of 10 years ago, then a Felicity chapter in the now, then Tobias in 10 years ago, then Rosalia in the now, then the cycle starts again. I'm hoping this will create a sharp contrast between the Sirena and Tobias that we first meet at the start of their story and the Sirena and Tobias that we meet at the start of Felicity and Rosalia's story and as the story progresses you'll see how these characters came to be as they are. That said, I prefer to write chronologically so I've only written from Sirena and Tobias's POV so far.

What The Fuck: Yes, Sirena and Tobias are siblings, yes they fall in love. This is an incest dark romance story about a pair of siblings who are wildly codependent. Their relationship is not healthy and it's portrayed in a romantic light, but if they were real people they would need therapy and I would be horrified by them. Luckily, they are fictional. I will slap some warnings on the story so no one will go in without knowing what it's about, but. Yeah. Also, both Sirena and Tobias kill people and Sirena eats people, if the ONLY thing you're objecting to is the incest idk what to tell ya.

Main Characters

Sirena De Ville (prev Monroe): Pirate Captain of the Kraken Rose, known as the Siren of the Void, reputation for being cannibalistic and unhinged. Her moral compass is inscrutable to anyone but her and Tobias (and Holly on most days). Beneath it all, Sirena is kind of awkward, having had very little social interaction and even less normal social interaction since she was 9 and her parents all but abandoned her and Tobias. She tends to feel her emotions at a blinding intensity or not at all with little in between. She has been doing witchcraft in secret with Tobias since she was 13. She views Holly as her truest and closest friend (besides Tobias) and Tamzin as a mother. She does NOT view Zephyr as a father no matter how often he tries to be her dad and does, in fact, hate his guts and want him dead.

Tobias De Ville (prev Monroe): First mate of the Kraken Rose, known as Sirena's right arm and the only one able to control her. He doesn't actually control her at all and enjoys how batshit she is. He is seen as the more reasonable of the pair mainly because he is a generally quiet person. Has been doing witchcraft with Sirena since he was 15. The list of people he truly trusts is very small, though he doesn't treat people with any sign of distrust. He views Holly as a close and true friend, second only to Sirena, and he views Tamzin as a mother. He hates Zephyr about as much as Sirena does. Lets Sirena do the talking because he somehow has less social skills than she does, and that's not a very high bar.

Felicity Monroe: Angry, openly distrustful of most, not a fan of her parents no matter how much they started trying to be better after Sirena and Tobias were taken. She has a perfect memory, having never forgotten a single moment in her life, and this has given her a lot of depression, frustration, and anger at the world and the people around her. She is, on the surface, a deeply bitter person who hides how much she can care about others for fear of being hurt. She is afraid all of the time, though you would never guess that by interacting with her.

Rosalia Monroe: Cheerful, considered naive by most because of her optimistic outlook on most things. He is genderless, though they don't mind presenting as a lady because he likes dresses. She is a bit silly and wildly charismatic, though they have no friends to show for it because, like his twin, she is terrified of making deeper connections with people. They also have a keen interest in engineering and the construction of starships, much to her parents' delight.

Other Important Characters

Holly Graves: Habitual thief and former rich kid who was abducted by Zephyr a few years before Tobias and Sirena. She quickly forms a close friendship with the pair, realizing quickly that they probably come from a similar background.

Zephyr Crescent: All around terrible person and Captain of the Serpant's Revenge before Sirena and Tobias took the ship from him and renamed it. There is a curse on him and he has learned how to manipulate it to keep others under his control. When he sees Sirena bite a man's ear off he decides that he wants her to be his heir. Sirena, quite frankly, does not want to be anyone's heir, but Zephyr doesn't care what anyone else wants.

Hi, it's me again, I was wondering if it is okay if I can ask a question? I know you rp a lot and Cat is amazing by the way! I was wondering how you started rp and creating a character, I have made character's before in the past but never rp much, I wanted to find a safe space to try and rp again, (As I have had bad experiences in the past) and was wondering if you have any tips on what I should do?

hello !!! i do know there are resource blogs out there that could also be of use for giving you some advice... but i can't name them off the top of my head so if any lovely mutuals who reads this know of any, please comment on this post !!! but for getting started on tumblr, i would recommend giving the character their own blog. it could be a sideblog if needed, but high-key recommend a separate one because a lot of rp blogs tend to block personals unless they know you have a roleplay sideblog. a rules page to just go over what helps make your experience comfy. this don't have to be long and can be updated as you learn the ropes and figure out your expectations, but giving a smidge of info on yourself ( a nickname and general age ) is smart to have and just general info! and then an about page for your muse! stats are important - age and name and the little deets. when it comes to appearance, personality, and backstory ( lore/powers/species info if character isn't human ), these don't need to be SUPER in depth if you don't have it all fleshed out and ready. some bullet points to really help give an idea of your character is still very important, though, because people need an idea of what your character is like in order to approach them in threads :D honestly those are the main things for getting the blog set up i think! it can be on basic tumblr pages and you can have a basic theme ( recommend still finding a not-tumblr-made theme, there's theme-hunter as one place to look for things! )... whatever is most organized and easy enough to read! if you want to make/use fancier pages and stuff, that's up to you! i use a special page for cat's verses because there's so many, it helps me organize everything lol. graphics and icons aren't necessary. they're nice for the tumblr environment because that's just how most people rp here, but not critical. i'd recommend at least icons if you can get a fc, you can find icons around tumblr as there's a number of rp resource blogs! icons are honestly just fun imo! they make the character feel more special in a way. then just get some things on your blog... aesthetic posts, fc images, tag drops ( tags are very very nifty for rp blogs when it comes to verses and organizing posts like aesthetic, musings, headcanon tags ). uhm... maybe an open or two just to give an example of your writing, and then you gotta be bold and follow people and start reaching out! starting a blog fresh can be hard and a lot of work, but if you love roleplaying, it's a lot of fun once you get in the zone! hopefully this advice is like. somewhat useful. and if any of my lovely friends have any other tips, i hope they leave some things here for you!! good luck, happy to try and answer any more questions if i can !!!

super weird to me that some blogs are uncomfortable with making pride flag icons for characters that deviate from their canon identity and i'm gonna speak on it. just hear me out first!

i wanna firstly say that i understand their stance from their pov because it's entirely possible that someone would request such a thing for erasure reasons, but it usually isn't like that. it's just as possible (in fact more likely imo) that it's being requested so that someone can vibe with a character they like using their own flags. bisexuals can love catra, lesbians can love luz, in fact i would argue it's more serious erasure to take identity away from a real person by forbidding them from using a character pride icon that doesn't match their own (i'd get blasted if my icon featured catra in front of a lesbian flag because i'm not one?????? hello??).

like............ am i committing lesbian erasure by slapping the bi4bi twibbon on my current icon to match the scene's color palette and share an important aspect of myself relating to my blog's content, or am i required to put the matching les4les flag (if you're curious) on amity's side? or to just have a regular bi & lesbian split flag since lumity is a bi4les pairing? that's ridiculous! you sound ridiculous!

also very weird that you'll offer alternatives to avoid "harmful headcanons" that don't exist in these particular situations, like "oh you can't have a bi amity icon but you can use this trans/nby flag one since that's not confirmed canon!" or "oh but how about this split lumity icon with one bi flag and one sapphic flag?" like, no, if you feel more comfy that way for your own stuff then that's fine, but if i hypothetically want a bisexual amity icon that shouldn't be problematic. if you'd need me to specify my intentions on my profile or something, fine, but y'all are reaching so hard and it's resulting in as much discomfort to innocent ol' me as it is to you for no good reason.

i mention all this because i'm coming across such rules in icon/edit maker blogs i'd like to follow, which reminds me of a bi catra icon incident that happened on my previous old blog that resulted in a block before i got the chance to explain/defend myself. i don't actually want a bi amity icon (right now), that was just a hypothetical example. plus it's hypocritical anyway since i actually do see lesbian luz icons all the goddamn time without consequence, but that doesn't surprise me since any form of "bi erasure" (generally speaking here) is much more accepted online and thrown under the rug. people call her a lesbian all the time and i see tiktok edits of lumity using only the lesbian flag far too often and i think that's something we should be more worried about than someone's personal preferences.

tl;dr - character pride flag icons that deviate from canon aren't necessarily erasure due to them not being about the characters. "you must be x identity to like y character" rules are silly. stop gatekeeping, you're weird.

also if you're confused about any of this, please just ask me and i will clarify because i can guarantee that if you're angry with me you probably just misunderstood. i do not stand for lgbt erasure at all. i just personally don't think these instances are such. i do not wish catra was bi, amity bi, or luz lesbian. i do not disregard canon and change their own identies up. please communicate, it helps us both. thanks.

The thing is that sometimes I want to share posts that cater only to adults. And sometimes I want to share posts that are minor-friendly/child-friendly (because let's face it, if you are a minor, you are a child).

I will also ask that minors don't interact with any NSFW posts that one might encounter on my blog (past, present, or future)... even if it appears that I forgot to tag the post. if you see that i forgot to tag it, do let me know and i will rectify it.

if I find that a minor has liked, commented, and/or reblogged an NSFW post that I either created and/or reblogged, you will be BLOCKED. No questions asked.

I will only take/do art requests when I explicitly say that I am taking them at that moment! I lose motivation very easily however, so please don't get upset if I don't get to yours.

I rarely ever take commissions, however I have considered opening them up for things such as money (cash app/PayPal), DA points (if those are still a thing?), or other characters. I also would like at least half the payment beforehand! I will also send progress shots :)

Nowadays I'm very picky with art trades, since I've been scammed in the past. I'll only do one with you if we're mutuals, sorry. Other than that I'm not super strict with them! Just send me 1-2 progress shots and we're good 👍

As for adopts/characters for sale, I ask that you send the payment first, and then I shall send you the character. If you do not agree with this, simply do not purchase anything from me. :)

About Babi┊・𓂃 I am a flip leaning regressor, and regress to about age 0-4. I am a sleepy, but bubby when regressed! Sometimes i go nonverbal, but i use a pacifier almost all the time. There is a ton of trauma surrounding my regression and it was very hard to regress. Now, with the help of bubby there is hope! I can only regress for small periods of time, and it needs to be assisted but its a great start and i hope that when we live together it'll boost my regression more! About Bubby┊・𓂃 I am Finns CG, and I love my babi bear! I do everything I can to make sure they feel safe and comfy here when regressing, as well as when they aren't Views on sitters┊・𓂃 We do not see sitters as something either of us would want to be apart of unless it was us sitting for/being sat by someone we know very well.
