Greetings!

My name is Professor Polaris. You may know me from my personal blog, prof-polaris.

I train service and emotional support pokemon for those in need (including pokemon who may need an emotional support pokemon for themselves). I am currently based in Johto, but I am wiling to work for others in other regions if necessary :)

I have a number of credentials, and a few degrees. More importantly, I've trained service/es pokemon before. For example, I trained: My first service mon Maple (leafeon), my current service mon Orion (eevee), a plusle and minun pair for a neighbor back in Sinnoh, a few growlithe, a stoutland, an absol, a swablu, a riolu, and a flaffy, to name a few. I am willing to train just about any pokemon, provided that the nature aligns with the necessary personality traits for a service mon/esp

I am located in Azalea Town, Johto, and business hours are 9am-4pm. However, I do not do walk-ins because I work out of my house so please make an appointment first :)

FAQ under the cut.

Q: Do I need to provide my own pokemon?

A: Nope! I should be able to source a pokemon for you if needed. However, this will take longer and may cost more.

Q: What is the difference between a service pokemon and an emotional support pokemon?

A: A service pokemon is trained to perform specific tasks, usually focused on the medical conditions of the trainer, they also have more rights. An emotional support pokemon simply provides emotional support, and does not perform specific tasks.

Q: What does ESP/ES stand for?

A: ESP stands for emotional support pokemon, ES is just emotional support.

Q: Is there an online registry for esp and service pokemon?

A: Surprisingly, no! All you need is your correct paperwork, there is no real place to "register" your pokemon. All sites that claim to do so are fake, and most don't require any paperwork to "register" your pokemon at all, so people use them to have fake service pokemon or esp.

You said it's not possible to catch a wile eevee/Eeveelution like me, but you also said it's not canon, this is what I mean by stubborn, your trying to say yes and no at the same time.

Author chan: Let me explain a bit then!! ^^ It's currently not possible for the trainer to catch eevees in the wild, as the first pokemon games that you can do this in is in Kalos (ignoring B2 + W2 ofc) the trainer is going to Kalos tho!!! So it will be possible for her to catch wild eevees soon!! :D But I am not accepting any characters to be in the comic. This includes your character. Your character is not canon. and your character can not be in the comic. and No. Anything you write about SSEC is not canon to SSEC.

Your character wont ever be in SSEC. Your character is not canon to SSEC, any multiverses of SSEC are not canon, including those you might make and those I make. There is no way for you to get any of your characters in the series. And yes, I am stubborn. Stubborn and petty. ^^ I feel like I have said this before. So, in conclusion. I'm saying yes and no at the same time again.

(actually technically saying its not possible to catch eevees and saying something is not canon are two no's but you are not making sense yourself, so hopefully the explanation above makes sense to you because I genuinely have no clue what you are asking me.)

Jeannes Pokemon Scarlet Nuzlocke

So... yeah i decided to do my first blind Nuzlocke in Pokemon Scarlet (not my actual first Nuzlocke just the first BLIND one) and i’m going to post what happens here...

So first of THE RULES:

-Any Pokemon that faints is considered dead for the rest of the challenge and must be boxed

-Only the first wild Pokemon encountered in a route or area can be caught (static encounters do not count. If multiple Pokemon show up at the same time i will prioritize new Pokemon and regional variants over returning old ones) If i fail to catch it (i accidentally KO it, it flees etc.) i don’t get a Pokemon for that route.

-Gift Pokemon can be kept but do not count as the encounter for that area

-No Legendaries (If the game forces me to catch a legendary i have to box it as soon as possible)

-Nickname all Pokemon

-No Items in Battle except held items (so no potions, status healing items, X-accuracy, etc. but berries, leftovers, eviolite etc. are allowed)

 -Dupes clause: If the first Pokemon in an area is one i already own, i may continue battling until i encounter one i do not own, and then attempt to catch it

-Shiny Clause: If i encounter a shiny wild Pokemon, i can catch and use it regardless of other rules preventing me from doing so (so, yes in theory i could use a legendary if it was shiny but since they will probably be shiny-locked that wont happen) This does not count as the encounter for that area

-and lastly, since this is a) a blind playthrough b) an non-linear open world game where i could theoratically run into areas i’m not supposed to. i decided to have a pussy balancing-clause: If i encounter a pokemon (wild or trainer) that is at least 5 levels higher than my strongest Pokemon and i get wiped by them i’m allowed to reload an earlier save (this only applies i case of a TPK. If i manage to somehow win the fight but loose some of my team the nuzlocke continues as normal and the fainted Pokemon are dead)

I will write these as I’m playing but will only make one post every day so i don’t have to transfer the screenshot to my PC for literally everything that happens

i think this is the first time since gen 2 that i chose the grass starter for my first playthrough. i took charmander in gen 1, chikorita in gen 2, torchic in gen 3, chimchar in gen 4, oshawott in gen 5, fennekin in gen 6, popplio in gen 7 and scorbunny in gen 8.

Wanted to show a little of a new fanfic I'm writing now info on the MC she 18 and spending her last year at Uva Academy till she graduates, Honan has travels all around and going to many schools due to her mums job, Honan is a bright and multi talented student and even studied briefly under Hoenn's pokemon profesor, she one day wants to become a pokemon researcher.

This is based on a teacher student romance giving it's name The Paldea Forbidden Fruit

After home room was done a number of students got up from there desks and picked up there bags wile leaving the class room, I finaly poped my planer away after spending a few minutes memorising everything “ok so looks like I’m with Mr Jacq first lesson sweet I love biology hehehehhe” but as I said that I cought Jacq attention in the frount of the class room “realy Honan” I look up and stand up out of my seat and walk up to hes desk “yer it’s so interesting, getting to know the Pokémon biological functions is interesting, there so meany Pokémon out there that have different biological functions it’s actaly fun to learn, like take Umbreon for example they have a sweat gland under there arms that release a poison gas to ward off any protental Pokémon wishing to do it halm, the smell is so vile it chases off anything they seem as a threat” Jacq looked at me surprised not expecting I knew all that and I happily smiled at him “I wasn’t expecting that from such a young trainer……..Honan”

I look at him and he’s eyes grew soft and a warm smile rested on he’s face “you may be one of my most extraordinary students yet” he reaches out and gently pets my head, I’m a little surprised as iv never had a mans attention like this so it left me a little flustered “ow…….well thank you Mr Jacq” he moved he’s hand away and continues to smile at me “well you head up, I be there in a sec” I nod and leave the class room making my way to he’s biology classroom “that was an odd interaction…….did he really pet my head?” I move my hand and rested it on my head and blushed a little, iv not really have that kind of attention from any man in my life…….it felt nice, I end up making it to the class room and I looked about and saw a few students all ready sat down and in place “well better grab a seat……I think I take the middle row” I sit down close to the window and I pulled out my note book and my art pad “see if I can get some drawing done in these few minutes” I grabbed a pencil and had a look around for my inspiration but something grabbed my attention outside the window, when I looked out I saw a tree and I could see a Pawmi happily eating a berry “you make a perfect muse” I giggle and start sketching away and by the time I was done the bell rang for lesson to start.

I turned the pad to the back as I doodle a lot when I’m listening to lectures as well as taking down fundamental notes, I was ready and soon Jacq walked in to the class and stood up front “Hello,Hello hope you been well” all the students say yes and I’m giggling to myself, I can tell this is going to be a fun lecture “so as you know we have a new student Honan wanta say hello to everyone” I smile and stand up and wave to them all “hay I really hope we can all get along and get to know each other better” I look about and there all nodding so I happily take my seat “so last lesson we lurned about Pokémon eggs and how no one knows we’re they come from or even how they get there, but biologists discovered that the Pokémon in the egg will shear one or more egg groups can anyone tell me some Pokémon that do?” Some students raised there hands but I keped mine down as I knew everything about this subject so I wanted to give the other students chance to shine, Jacq let’s 4 students answer and only 2 of them got it correct

“Nicely done but how knows the double egg group……Honan”

I look up and smile “the other one that souly devised into two are the water types and nice trick question there three fitting into those categories there 116 water Pokémon fitting in to group one there there 34 in group two and in group three there 37, Pokémon fitting in either one of the three groups biologically shear the same egg group” Jacq claps hes hands wile the students in the class were blown away “wow your correct and you called my bluff nicely done Honan” I smile and everyone just looks at me like I’m some kind of genius, what can I say iv done a lot of research into this kind of stuff.

The lesson went on smoothly and I was taking down notes but wile watching Jacq teach he turned to the class wile still talking to them taking off he’s glasses and pushing the side of he’s hair back and the way he looked stoped me on the spot, I took in every detail and memories every fetcher on he’s face till it was burnt into my brain “he’s so……..” I instinctively put my art pad over my note book and started to draw everything I just witnessed wile Jacq carried on with the lecture with the class, thankfully all the students were paying attention wile I sketched Jacq out on to my pad but when I got to he’s eyes, I saw actually how soft and warm they were.

He’s soft delicate features the way he lips curl and the way he’s hair positions it’s self but out of everything the way he’s eyes it’s like there saying don’t worry I protect you, lesson went well and I was close to finishing what I was doing but I didn’t relised I was the only one now left in the class room “Honan if you don’t go you be late to your next lesson” I looks up and relised I was the only one left “crap did I zone out again” Jacq chuckles and walked over I quickly put my note pad over my art book and stood up “you did, was you taking extra notes?” I blush a little and look to my side “er yer…..I just added a few bits in here and there” he looked at me warmly then walked over “you did an excellent job today Honan keep it up” again he reached he’s hand out and ruffled my hair this time with that same old cute smile.

“Thank you I appreciate that I just hope I didn’t sound like a know it all” Jacq removed he’s hand and he gently laughed “I don’t think you did, it’s a nice change, I might have someone to talk to about Pokémon research now as your very well adept in that field” I giggle and nod at him with a bright smile “any time like I said I might pick your brain every now and then so hope your ready for that” he nods and i leave the classroom so he can get ready for he’s next class, I look around and look at the drawing I did of him “I really hope I don’t get into trouble for drawing this……….I have to keep it hidden don’t want anyone to see it…….not even Jacq”

Pokemon Sapphire run 3.5

Dang it I'm still struggling to find the HM for rock smash! I think one place I havent looked is that house on route 110. The trick house?

yeah I bet its in there.

So i find the guy hiding under a table an dgo in behind the scroll... only to find a bunch of trees I have to cut.

I'm not wiling to catch another pokemon just to have it use cut. Not since I realized I needed a grass type in cyrstal and took out Flash-Cut. I think since this is supposed to be a genuine replay of all the old pokemon games... I'm just gonna have to play em how I used to and give the Hms to my team. Its not the BEST way to deal with it, and its not even the only way. But it was how I ALWAYS played as a kid. So guess I gotta decide who learns Cut...

Both Phoenix and Edge can learn cut. But its kind of a disappointment because I was REALLY hoping Audelle, my loudred, could learn it so she could at least get STAB from it.

UGH

I ultimately decide to teach Cut to Edge mostly because Phoenix will at least be able to get STAB from rock smash and I'd prefer to not put two HMs on a single pokemon this early on.

I delete Mud-slap in favor of cut because it does the least amount of damage out of Edge's moves and Iron Defense will likely come in handy if I need Edge to hold out against an opponent. Besides, later in the game I can always find the move deleter (who I think is in lilycove in this game?) to get rid of the HMs in favor of a better tm move.

I get through the trick room, beating all the trainers, and....

No HM

moving on.

I teach Rock Smash to Phoenix and head north.

I defeat all the trainers on the next route but find that the cable car up to Mt Chimney is down. Forcing me to cut through the fiery path to move forward. I find some berries outside the entrance, get secret power from some strange kid, and fight a few more trainers. However, my teams starting to get worn down now. Thankfully I find a house with a helpful old lady who lets me and my team stay at her place and heal up.

After that rest, I finally reach route 113 where the whole place is coated in ash from Mt. Chimeny. The route is a bit of struggle to get through, but my team manages to hang in there as I obtain the soot sack, allowing me to collect ash to have flutes made.

Lol, when it comes around to playing ORAS perhaps I'll challenge myself a little by making it so I cant use store bought healing items making stuff like the flutes essential. I don't normally do pokemon challenges, but I really do more often than not find gen 6 to be the easiest of the pokemon generations.

No hate meant, but while I dont play pokemon games for a challenge I dont quite want it to be the breeze I managed to play through when I played pokemon X and alpha sapphire.

Moving on.

I managed to make it to Falarbor town! I heal up my mons and decide to double back to the previous route to find some items. In fact once I get through to a certain point I should back track and use cut and rock smash to get some extra items.

Which I did. Sadly I didn't get a whole lot out of the ashy route, so I went on ahead to route 114 where I caught a new team member! A swablu I decided to name Aeria!

Aeria Species: Swablu lv. 16 Nature: Docile Ability: Natural Cure Moves: Peck, Growl, Astonish, Sing Item: none

Lol I can't recall if I've ever actually used a swablu so this should be an interesting addition!

So I get to Meteor Falls and ran into Maxie, saved the researcher guy from a bunch of team aqua grunts, etc. Then I just carried on my way. I did run into a Lunatone in the cave but I failed to catch it.

I cut through back to Rustboro and did some much needed backtracking. I fought the trainers in the tree maze on route 116. Since I put this off they were severely underleveled, but it scored Aeria a level up so it was some much needed training.

The most notable item I managed to get ahold of by backtracking and using cut/rock smash was the Miracle Seed in Petalburg Woods. I went ahead and gave it to Hawthorn to powerup its Absorb attack (although that wont do any good against the fire gym).

I finally went to rustturf tunnel to destroy the rock and make the shortcut while getting HM04 Strength at the same time. I returned to Mt. Chimney and rode to the top and started fighting Team Aqua.

After getting past the grunts I took on Archie.

I still had Aeria at the front of the party so she ended up being sent out against Mightyena (yikes!)

I immediately swap in to Phoenix in to Phoenix in the hopes that Aeria might get some additional experience. Mightyena used bite, and Phoenix hit back with a double kick taking Mightyena out! Hooray for super effective fighting type moves!

Archie sends in Golbat. In the interst of keeping Phoenix from getting taken out too soon, I swap him for Edge. Hoping his steel type would resist the Golbats poison typing. Golbat used bite causing Edge to flinch and then hit em with a wing attack. Edge responded with metal claw. Golbat used bite, tho this time Edge managed to avoid flinching. Edge used another metal claw, and golbat used supersonic, but it failed. Edge uses headbutt getting them down to low health. I set up to use Cut to take them down next turn but Archie uses a super potion to heal Golbat making the cut attack useless. Next turn Golbat managed to hit Edge with a critical bite that managed to hit. Edge used iron defense to try to gain up some defense. Golbat used bite again and Edge flinched. Edge proceeded to flinch for the next three turns as Golbat spammed bite and sadly fainted.

I send in Audelle against Golbat. The reason why occurs on the first turn when Golbat tries to pull off a supersonic only for Audells soundproof ability to kick in and keep it from having any effect. Audelle immediately goes into an uproar while Golbat uses bite and wing attack. Audelles uproar ends and I try to have her use a pound to take Golbat out but Archie, that ass, uses ANOTHER super potion. Pound still hits but Golbat hits back with a wing attack. Audelle used uproar again. Golbat manages to get in a bite but it wasnt enough to take Audelle out and it fainted.

Next up Archie set out Sharpedo which manages to outspeed Audelle and use Crunch taking the already weakened Audelle out.

I throw in Hawthorn hoping his grass typing would create an advantage. Sharpedo used focus energy and Hawthorn used absorb. From there the two get into a back and forth with sharpedo using bite and Hawthorn sucking out health with absorb. Hawthorn wins the war of attrition and Sharpedo fainted.

With all THAT done, my team is heavily weakened and needs a heal at a pokemon center. Not wanting to deal with the trainers on Jagged Pass I avoided them using the acrobike. I successfully avoid them and get to lavaridge. I receive an egg from an old lady there but immediate box it.

(Sorry wynaut. you and Wabboffet are cool pokemon but i dont have the patience for you this playthrough)

I head immediately to the gym just to see how I fare. While fighting trainers Aeria managed to learn Safeguard.

I'd write a team update but tbh this post has run really really long, so I'm gonna type it up on the next one.

I remember a fic I read on Ao3 with a pokemon trainer protagonist where a milcery just kinda starts existing wile the squad is making some tarts because of the baking and stuff and I can't help but imagine Trey having a Milcery or another food/sweet sorta pokemon (I can see if I can find which fic I'm thinking of if you wanna know)

Well, Milcery supposedly are born from sweet smelling particles in the air, that's a possible scenario when baking!

And, since Trey's family has a bakery, I'm inclined to believe that's how the eldest Clover sibling stumbled upon his first pokemon~

Yall keep talkin about how pokemon x could beat digimon y and not talking about how every single human antagonist in adventure got there shit rocked and some poor trainer just trying to have a battle is not gonna be exempt from getting socked in the face by a feral middle schooler who thinks you're threatening his freinds. like say graymon and tai are transported to the pokemon universe (say Sinnoh) and like a good champion cynthia tries to neutralize the giant fucking t-rex  no amount of pokemon training is gonna help you if you can’t command your pokemon and you can’t command your pokemon wile a small child is trying to knock you out.  What i’m saying is the fight will stop by cynthia ether haveing to knock out a child, getting the story and calling off the battle or cynthia getting the shit beaten out of her by a 9 year old.  unless it’s a wild pokemon a human is gonna get hurt.

With a bird’s eye view from just behind the trio, Staraptor came to the fire type’s rescue, sending a few gusts of wind into the cloud of smoke.

“Watch where you’re goin’, Chunky!” The blond called over

He was met with an irritated huff.

With no defender yet in place, Barry’s flag was hoisted without so much as a splinter to stop him. From their position, Barry could see a suspicious and  flag holding tower just to the north. Bingo- flag two.

“Pretz, stay here. If anyone comes for that flag, super soak ‘em!”

With an affirmative bark back and a quick lift from Star to get Chunky over the river, Barry made a beeline towards the woods. Sure, the open area was easier to maneuver, but it wouldn’t give him any time to plot his accession- not to mention open field in a game of booby traps meant, well, booby trap heaven. What was the worst that would be in the forest? One of those things that snapped your leg and put you up a tree? Not a problem to get out of!

Except instead of going up, Barry went down. He went down hard.

A pitfall. One of the easiest traps to fall into, and he tumbled in face first, dropping onto his arm with a loud thud.

“Fu-rick!” he near cursed, suddenly overly aware of his mom watching from the stands.

He rolled over in the hole, squinting at the all too amused face of his Infernape. “Yeah, yeah, yuck it up. You did it first.”

Pushing himself back proved to be a little more difficult than he thought it would. Any weight on his left arm proved painful- much more so that the scrape would indicate. A couple of pokes to the forearm was probably a bad idea, but it did paint a better picture: that his left arm wasn’t going to be very useful anymore. Broken? From that short a fall? It didn’t hurt as much as he thought it would….

Eh, he’d get it checked out after he got the other flags. It wasn’t hard for Star to pull him out by his coat, and Chunky turned out to be a wiz at double knotting. Who knew a scarf could come in handy for a makeshift sling?

With all the time that ate up, he was sure the tower would be guarded by now. It was just a matter of approach……..

“Alright guys, I got a plan.”

An arm down, a man down (technically speaking. Floatzel was fine on flag one as far as he knew, but that made the entire game harder in the long run) but in no way disheartened, Barry huddled together with his Pokemon, nodding off in the tower’s direction. 

“So the tower dude’s got a flying type, and we gotta keep him away long enough for Chunks to change out the flag, so I figure if you go in and draw his attention U-Turning enough, we can dizzy up his bird and get the other flag over there by the time the pilot know’s which ways up again.” 

Star hopped a little to get a better look at the tower in question. Wile a Braviary was certainly stronger, Star was confident she was faster. She gave an assuring squawk, flapping her wings to prepare herself for takeoff. 

“I’ll stay here, and once you get the flag tied on, I’ll make a B-line to the next flag and meet you in the middle. Star’ll stay here and keep the flag safe, so It’ll just be you and me buddy, okay?”

Chunky gave a rallying cry, signal enough for Star to take off ahead. 

The plan worked a lot better than Barry expected. One dive in and the flag’s protector took the bait, flying off on his bird and leaving the flag totally exposed. With the chase underway, Chunky took to the tower, scaling it with the ease of...well, a monkey. Everything seemed smooth sailing-

Until Star hit the ground, K.O’d.

Barry recalled his Pokemon, unsure of what to do. Without a defender, he could easily swap the flags bac- wait why was he flying toward him? Didn’t Hiroko say-?

“CHUNKS! RUN!”

And run Chunky did. The ape sprung into action, making his way to intercept Barry and the Braviary. With the type disadvantage, all Chunky could think to do was blow a plume of fire up at the pair from the flame on his head, repelling them as much as he could to keep them going. 

Climbing the ridge was going to be impossible given the circumstances- not that Barry even had the thought. Really the only thing his mind could focus on at the moment was ‘run’, and boy did he. Around the tower and up the hill, ducking around flames in a mad scramble for the last point. 

And to a Snorlax. 

Without much of a plan, the pair did as they had been doing: charging ahead. Quite literally. With a bird on their tail and a wall in front of them, Chunky put together a plan straight out of one of Barry’s cartoons. He stopped his bursts of flame, allowing the Braviary to approach. With a bounding leap, Chunky made a grab for the normal type’s head, pushing himself off and over to vault past the behemoth before he had a chance to react. Or a chance to get out of the bird’s way. 

Barry, far less agile, settled for running around as the bird dived past, only screaming a little at the close call. 

They still had the Snorlax’s trainer to worry about, but it seemed Chunky had all of their bases covered today...at least somewhat. In a display of practically super human strength, the warrior had the fire type in her grip on instinct, pulling herself back to send Chunky on his head in a suplex. Barry might have been impressed if he wasn’t fumbling with the flag, wrapping it around the pole as best he could with one hand, pulling it tight with his teeth. 

Was it over? Did he win? Boy he hoped so. Did he have to back and check on Pretzel? Could he even make it back with a bird on his ass? Where were the airhorns?! Confetti!?! Some sort of announcement!?!?!?

Could you tell me any headcanons you have on pokemon-human communication? Cause trainers seem to be able to understand their team pretty well, but sometimes people seem to only get the gist of what the Pokemon are trying to convey

This is one of those things in the pokemon universe that I think about a whole lot :o

* I would think that one of the main factors to this would be the bond between the pokemon and their trainer. The trainer would also have to be wiling to keep an open mind about pokemon being able to communicate with them. If a trainer has disbelief about pokemon being able to communicate, then they’ll never be able to fully understand them.

* It’s not an easy task to learn how to communicate with your pokemon. It takes a lot of patience and time, something that some trainers don’t have. Results wouldn’t happen overnight but if you and your pokemon keep at it, you’ll be able to fully understand them eventually.

Overwatch AU: 

Xena is a well respected and credited environmental historian who focuses on fighting for the earth where it cannot fight for itself. With the help of a friend who specializes in biological augments, she becomes the environmental superpower known as ‘Gaia’ and fights under the flag of her own group. When Overwatch, the very organization who inspired her to make a difference, is recalled she jumps at the first chance to be recruited. A hero who can lift the very earth from under her as well as a skilled manager, she’s put in charge of Overwatch’s accounting and Public Relations as well as on call for hero duty. When Jesse McCree returns to the overwatch base to join in on the fun, the two become very close. Little does he know that Xena’s powers come at a great cost to her health, concerning all on the base.

Amnesia AU:

Xena wakes up with a foggy mind in a room she doesn’t recognize, not quite sure who she is or how she arrived at the location. Jesse McCree, a former Overwatch agent and current wanted man, finds a girl passed out in the desert and takes her in. When she asks if she can stay with him, in hopes of them discovering more about her memories as she travels around the country, he finds himself saying yes. He finds himself slowly caring for Xena the longer they stay together, and Xena finds that the memories she makes with McCree might be nicer than the ones she had in the past. Maybe she’s right...

World Transfer AU:

Testing new temporal technology in an attempt to help Tracer better understand her core goes wrong in the Overwatch lab. The team is now face to face with Xena, a tired college student from the year 2017 with an abnormally intense knowledge of Overwatch history and even predictions on the future. Letting her go is not going to happen, that’s for sure. McCree decides, however, that instead of a prisoner she should be treated like a person. The more they talk and the more she smiles, the more pleasant his days turn. Perhaps she’s more of a gift than the others think, at least, to him she is.

World Transfer AU (2.0): 

Testing new temporal technology in an attempt to help Tracer better understand her core goes wrong in the Overwatch lab. But this time, Jesse McCree is sent backwards in time as a result of attempting to protect his fellow Overwatch members from suffering the same fate. He ends up in the year 2017 in Xena’s apartment. Instead of calling the police, however, she takes him in and helps him out, explaining that in this world he’s nothing more than a video game character. “But,” She notes with a grin, “You’re my favorite.”

College AU:

Xena is an Art History major in college just trying to get her degree and get out of finals hell. When one of her classes requires semester-long teamwork, she gets paired up with Jesse McCree: a mechanical engineer major from New Mexico with a cute southern accent. The two spend many days of their semester together getting lunch on campus, studying late at the library, and walking one another back to their dorms. It doesn’t take the entire semester before they realize that they’re in love, but it’ll take the whole thing for them to admit it that’s for sure.

Farmer AU:

Xena’s family runs a small, out of the way farm. She comes to visit her parents every single summer when she gets out of college in the big city a little ways away. One summer, she returns to find out that her parents have hired a new farm hand to help out around the place. Jesse McCree is a hardworking, teasing sort of guy that Xena can’t help but fall for the more she talks to him. Their summer is spent playing the river near her home, watching stars in the field, and taking care of farm animals together.

Pokemon AU:

Xena is a young woman who goes off on her pokemon adventure after helping her mother recover from the loss of her father. With her Tentacruel, Flygon, Delcatty, and Wailord. Traveling around she meets another trainer, McCree, who decides that they should stick together and travel as well. His pokemon are Ponyta, Rapidash, Taurus, and Mudsdale. The more they travel, the more in love they fall.

Werewolf AU:

McCree has been a werewolf for a very long time, and has always made sure he took precautions as not to hurt anyone. When he slips up one full moon though and wakes up the next night shirtless and covered in bruises and cuts from a fight with people he’s hurt, he gets picked up and taken care of by Xena who happens to be walking home that day. She learns he’s a werewolf, but decides that they should stick together and help one another with their own inner demons instead of parting ways over one little hairy incident.

Monster Hunter AU:

McCree is an esteemed monster hunter with an eye for the abnormal better than any in the business. Xena is a tired, reptilian shadow monster who doesn’t want any trouble with anyone. She only wants to live her life and help others, even those who see her as something bad. McCree hunts her down when jealous neighbors leak news that she’s a monster, but, upon meeting her and seeing that she isn’t bad lets her go and talks with her. He learns that not all monsters are horrible, and not all humans should be trusted.

Howl’s Moving Castle AU:

Xena owns a simple hat shop and, really, that’s all she feels like she does. The adventure in her life is nearly nonexistent, until she meets the wizard Jesse McCree and he sweeps her off of her feet. Literally. When her involvement with him leads her to be put under a curse, she travels with him in his moving castle and grows closer to him as they move in search of a way to break her curse, falling in love as they go.

KiKi’s Delivery Service AU:

Xena is a young witch who is leaving home to settle in a new town for the first time in her life. The seaside village she arrives in is beautiful, and takes her breath away, but the people have never seen a witch before and her flying isn’t exactly that welcome. When she finds a small bakery wiling to trade her a place to live for a delivery service, she’s happy to be of help. Even more so when she meets Jesse McCree, a young man with dreams of flying just as she does and a knack for tinkering with new inventions of his own. Their love ensues.

Soulmate AU:

It is well known in the world that people see their soulmates in their dreams. They dance together, think subconsciously in the other’s voice, and feel the same emotional and physical pains when a connection is strong. Xena isn’t sure if she should be delighted or terrified when she hears her soulmate’s sultry southern drawl in her dreams and feels the painful sting of gunshot wounds in her body before she can know what hit her. When she meets Jesse McCree in person as he tries to stop a bank robbing heist, only to be mistaken as the perpetrator himself, she knows she’s in for a while ride.

Tattoo & Florist AU:

Xena loves her tattoo shop more than most things. She loves, especially, making custom tattoos and giving people art that means something  to them forever. What she loves even more than that, however, is the handsome florist who just opened his own shop next to her own. The two flirt in the form of flowers and he even stops in to get a tattoo from time to time. Jesse McCree makes a mean bouquet and the crush that she develops on him is something special.

Western AU:

A little town off of Route 66 has been overrun by the Deadlock gang for a long time now. The townsfolk just try to do their best to get by while being constantly invaded by ruffians as it’s always been. Xena is a waiter at a diner and the constant subject of the gang’s torment. One of the gang members never bothers her though, a young cowboy named Jesse McCree. When a fight breaks out in the diner she works at and she has to take McCree back behind the bar to make sure he’s patched up and okay, the two begin to fall in love. He invites her to help him take down the gangs of the west. Who’s a girl to refuse?

Pokemon XYZ or blue exorcist please!

Someone else asked for Blue Exorcist, so I’m going to go ahead and do Pokémon XY(&Z). I’m also assuming you mean the anime here, but if not and you meant the games, feel free to send that in, haha.

But as for the anime … oh buddy.

Very first order of business here is to fix Alan’s ending, because I hate, hate, hate everything that happened with him post-episode 44 to the point where I feel actual anxiety in my gut every time I so much as think about it, much less actually see screencaps or gifsets of it. (Well, okay—that scene where Sycamore tries to encourage Alan to dance despite the fact that Alan clearly doesn’t want to, only for Bonnie to drag Sycamore off a couple seconds later despite how startled and reluctant he is, while Alan grins at Sycamore getting a taste of his own medicine there—that was super cute. But everything else? Everything else was garbage, and I’m wiling to sacrifice those seconds of cuteness if it means getting rid of all the other trash.) While the abusive situation that gave me C-PTSD that I’m still grappling with to this day lasted a lot longer for me than Alan’s lasted for him, his situation also came with so many more severe incidental traumas, so I feel it evens out in terms of relatability for me. With that said, the fact that he was given no time to deal with them—the fact that we see in XYZ044 that he’s feeling and sounds suicidal enough to worry Ash to the point where Ash basically gives him a “promise me you’ll battle me again at some vague, undefined point in the future, which means you have to be alive and well enough to do it” offer and that Alan refers to this as Ash saving him, all to just completely sweep it under the rug and pretend it never happened two episodes later so they can toss him out on a journey again (despite, you know, the fact that Professor Sycamore said that with the way Lumiose City was Alan was needed there in episode 44 and Alan was so happy he practically started crying while smiling when he heard that), sickens me.So! Before I get into anything else, the first thing that’s changing is that. Alan is staying at the lab—his home—at the end of the series, in order to rest and recuperate. He no longer has the Mega Ring (and Lizardon no longer has that godawful collar), but the Key Stone and Charizardite X were kept and Sycamore has them fashioned into a matching set of pendants: a half-sun for Lizardon, and a half-moon for Alan. But even though they have those back, they’re still staying at the lab for the time being, with no definite plans for the future. Right now, Alan is just focusing on recuperating—or rather, Sycamore is focusing on Alan recuperating, while Alan is focusing on helping out around the lab. You know how he is. In his mind, he’ll rest when he’s dead. (Which Sycamore would like to be very many decades from now, rather than at some point before his sixteenth/seventeenth birthday, but that requires getting Alan to actually rest and take care of himself, and sometimes that can be a struggle.) So he has no definite plans, but before Ash leaves he does reaffirm that they’ll battle again someday, and whatever he does will work toward that. Ash is pretty happy to hear it.Manon, meanwhile, returns to her own journey. She’s reluctant at first; we see throughout TSME and the main series that Manon has little to no real confidence in herself as a trainer, shown both in how she never actually has a single battle on-screen aside from when she captures Fla-chan (which Alan helped her with and might as well have never happened anyway since Fla-chan was never seen after that moment)—and no, TSME 3 does not count, because Manon did not command Hari-san. He acted independently in order to defend both Manon and Alan. Her lack of confidence is also highlighted in TSME 4, when she tells Alan that if he’s with her then she and Hari-san can grow stronger, and he tells her (truthfully!) that she needs to stop relying on him all the time. So Manon is reluctant to go on her own, but Alan encourages her, tells her that he knows she can do it, and as an added bonus invites her to pick a Kanto starter to take with her. She chooses bulbasaur, and he gives her a cryptic message about how he might have something special for her should she ever manage to evolve her bulbasaur all the way to the venusaur stage. Manon gets excited and pesters him about whether or not it’s a Key Stone/Mega Stone (“Will I be able to mega evolve?!” - “It’s your pokémon that mega evolves, not you—” - “I know that, jeez! Just answer the question!!”), but he refuses to tell her. Just smiles and playfully shoos her on her way. She’s still nervous—scared, even—but she and Hari-san (and her new bulbasaur Fushi-kun) go on their journey to build confidence in themselves and each other.So that’s number one—the biggest one, but a very, very important one. As for others?

The Showcases have got to go. They do. They just do. They’re bathed in idol culture, which is extremely toxic and harmful, and honestly I wouldn’t be as bothered by the Showcases if they weren’t female-only, but the fact that this is The Girl Activity (whereas Contests, for instance, were always co-ed) bothers me, particularly since there isn’t any battling involved, but there is a lot of dancing and cooking, et cetera. It feels like a rigid enforcing of gender roles on top of being steeped in idol culture, and I don’t like that. It needs to go.That said? The Pokémon anime actually did introduce the concept of idols way back in the OS—specifically in the Pokémon Chronicles special episodes—and it was far less of an issue then. Pokémon Idols in the OS took the form of trainers like Marina (who was based on Kris from the games), and while the actual job description is somewhat vague, from the way Marina made it seem the goal of a Pokémon Idol is to be as entertaining as possible while battling. It is, essentially, to be a performance artist as well as a battler. So for instance, whenever Marina would battle she and her pokémon had choreographed entrance moves whenever she released them from their pokéballs. She also insisted to Jimmy (who was based on Gold from the games) that she wanted to “turn her battles into performances” in order to make people happy. And you know what? She did! Marina participated in the Johto League/Silver Conference, as well as a Grand Festival, but she was also shown modeling the Pokétch on a magazine cover and has had her face on t-shirts. She has become a star/idol, while at the same time working as a trainer skilled enough to participate in the Johto League/Silver Conference, and a coordinator skilled enough to participate in a Grand Festival.This is relevant, because if they really wanted to capitalize on the popularity of idol culture/idol anime such as Love Live!, the PokéAni writing staff could have worked in something similar for Serena. Rather than inventing Showcases the way they did (and removing the battling aspect completely), they could have instead set up something such as a Kalosian Idol Search, which hosted special battle competitions around Kalos in order to search for the next idol a la Marina. Perhaps these are similar to, but not the same as, Gyms, in which the objective is both to win a series of battles, but also turn those battles into performances in order to win the favor of the public (so, sort of like Contests, but not wholly the same). This could be co-ed as well, meaning that Tierno could participate in an attempt to be an idol, which would be perfect for him given that he loves to dance (and likes to incorporate dancing into battles, which is right in line with what Marina liked to do back in the OS). This way, Serena could be an active battler while still pursuing a goal that doesn’t mirror Ash’s badge quest, and yet isn’t so rigidly “this is for girls, and girls don’t battle,” which is the vibe much of the XY&Z saga gave me. Something like that (albeit a bit more refined, as this is a rough idea) would be far better than the Showcases were. (More entertaining to watch, too, imo.)

And speaking on Serena some more, we’re not going to have her hero worshiping/hero crushing on Ash for the entire series, because to be quite honest that created far more problems than it solved. It’s fine to have them meet in childhood (even though bby!Ash in the flashbacks do not at all resemble OS!Ash, which they should have—and that would need to be remedied, too), and it’s fine to have her remember that meeting and still hold a childhood crush on him—but he should have changed a lot since then. She should have, too. And we should have—we needed to have a moment early on where Serena realizes that he’s not just the amazing and courageous hero that she remembers, that he’s a human being with flaws, and maybe that bursts her bubble a bit, maybe she’s disappointed and put-out that this isn’t exactly like a fairy tale …… but then she gets to know him, as a person, flaws and all. Sometimes they quarrel, sometimes she’s less than impressed with him, but othertimes she is impressed with him, other times she sees that he makes her laugh or that, even if he’s not some amazing hero, he’s a guy she likes …… and, if we must go down the romance route, feelings develop from there.What made Ash/Misty so great in the OS was that Misty wasn’t introduced with the idea of, “This is Ash’s love interest.” Instead, their friendship was first and foremost what was developed, and the romance—which was canonically there from both sides, even in the JP version—developed naturally over time. They are most definitely best friends with crushes. If the anime writers wanted to write a romance arc with Ash and Serena, okay, that’s fine—go for it! But in that case, focus on developing them as friends first. Have the crush grow naturally. Don’t create Serena with the express purpose of having her fawn over Ash (which, yes—a recent interview revealed that the reason why this was written in was because a writer wanted to “see the series from the eyes of a female companion who admired Satoshi” which is just … no). Instead, even if she has a crush on him at first, have her get to know him—actually get to know him this time, not meet once and then separate for years on end, but know him as a person—and have her develop feelings for who he is now, not who she has idealized him to be. (And don’t have him be perfect all the time, either! Let him get mad! Frustrated! Selfish! Petty! Let him be feisty!) And likewise, have Ash develop a special and concentrated friendship with Serena, rather than just cute shippy moments here or there. Show us that he actually feels something for her beyond friendship. Show us before the very end where you just have his eyes sparkle after she kisses him, because you know what? His eyes sparkled the same way when Rowlet cuddled up to him in the Sun/Moon anime. Different animation style, sure, but I’m js. That’s not enough. And if the writers have to tell us later on “oh yeah, it’s meant to imply Ash and Serena are a couple later,” that’s not good writing. You guys can do better than this. Prove it.… So, um, yeah, I’d fix that. I’d change that ship from “girl meets boy when they are 5, develops a crush on him, and continues crushing through to the end as she works to be worthy of him” to “girl meets boy when they are 5, develops a crush on him, realizes when they are 10 that he’s not the Ideal Hero she built him up to be, befriends him as a person, realizes she’s developing new and stronger feelings for him now that she actually knows and sees him as a person, and he comes to see her as one of his closest friends and confidants, and their relationship is much more believable and stronger as a result.” That’s definitely a change I would make if the romance angle needs to be kept. (Which I don’t think it needs to be, but you know, in the interest of fairness, I’m just saying I could have done it better. Js.)

I can’t believe I forgot about this until point four, but rework Bond Phenomenon ffs. First of all, we’re no longer giving it to Greninja (or at least not limiting it to Greninja). That was stupid pandering meant to push Greninja’s popularity, and I’m not having it. If any one of Ash’s pokémon is getting it, it’s Pikachu, particularly since “but Pikachu isn’t fully evolved!1!1″ doesn’t matter because Bond Phenomenon is not mega evolution, and therefore the same rules don’t apply. The entire point of Bond Phenomenon was to avoid giving Ash a mega evolution for whatever asinine reason the anime team had, and if that’s the case, then there is no reason not to give the special love-powered super form to the partner and platonic soul mate that Ash has had since day one, particularly since Ash’s bond with Greninja was so poorly developed and not believable in the least bit. So if Ash is still getting Bond Phenomenon for whatever reason, it’s going to Pikachu, and that’s final.Second, although I know there are many people who would hate this, sorry I’m not sorry, but I felt that there was plenty of foreshadowing that made it seem as if Alan and Lizardon would be tapping into that in the finale of the Flare Arc, perhaps following a scene where they tossed off the Mega Ring and collar right in Lysandre’s face and tapped into Bond Phenomenon afterward, given that they have “a bond that overcomes reason” (Alan’s words, TSME 1) / “a bond that surpasses its limits” (Malva’s words, TSME 4). So on top of giving Bond Phenomenon to Ash and Pikachu and making it clear that it’s not exclusive to that (which, conveniently, Sycamore’s explanation in XYZ036 did plainly enough by saying it’s rare but there are several recorded instances throughout history!), we’d perhaps tap into it here as well, albeit only on a Lvl 1 or 2 scale, and one that probably knocks them both out at the end of the battle due to the physical toll it would take on them.Or, if not that? Then ditch Bond Phenomenon altogether and just give Ash a goddamn mega evolution, particularly in the form of ‘Zard Y. I’d be very happy with that as well, especially since Ash wearing his Key Stone attached to his hat would be adorable (and a nod to Red, whom the anime team specifically said they pulled from when putting together Ash’s XY design, most notably with the sideburns). Either way, Ash-Greninja is getting the boot for sure. Gtfo, froggo. No one wants you here.

Last (but certainly not least), I wanted a real confrontation between Lysandre and Sycamore over what Lysandre did to Alan—the lies, the manipulation, the abuse. We see in TSME 4 that Sycamore gives Lysandre a cold reception when first meeting him, and I really, really wanted Sycamore to go save his son, or at least confront Lysandre over it. So I definitely would have worked that in there, as well as more focus on Sycamore and Alan’s father-son bond in general. We needed more of that. More childhood flashbacks, perhaps (imagine flashbacks showing little five-year-old Alan, fdsfdsafda), some more heart-to-hearts near the end, perhaps … things like that. So, an actual confrontation between Lysandre and Sycamore, and more focus on Sycamore and Alan’s father-son bond, yesssss.

There is a lot more that I would change, I feel, but these are major ones. And this is super long/a lot as it is, so … that should tell you how many feelings I have over it, haha.
