oh i know what to talk about. ever seen vega-p on youtube?

to be completely honest when it comes to vocaloid i mostly listen to the older songs (2010-2015 id say) and pjsekai is where i find newer songs LOL

i don't really go out of my way to listen to new vocaloid and its something i should do more

ok now to what u actually asked!! i have never seen vega-p before!! so i checked them out and completely honest its not my genre ;_; but i think their songs are pretty good other than my personal preferences!!! i can tell they have serious potential :) i really like that they add story into the songs and i wish more westen music had fantasy/imaginative stories rather than the singer/writers personal experiences (not that those are bad but i feel like there is an oversaturation of songs like that in western media)

out of the 4 songs i listened to i liked ROTTEN CORE it kinda reminds of hitoshizuku×yama's softer songs with its story and soft instruments (specifically the song Seasonal Feathers)

but (this is my complete personal preference!!) the songs were almost too soft, i would love to see more power in their songs!! like the newest one, DISSAPPEARANCE FESITVAL teto sounds great!!

if they could mix rotten core's vibe and dissappearance festival's tone and power 😍😍

also i only say this as a music listener and NOT a writer/producer! making music is really hard!

This video debuted on the 11th of June, 2022, and is another collaboration with Adriana Arellano! This is an arrangement by Rob Dietz, and here's what Voiceplay had to say about the song in the description: "We actually love this song and “Good for you” by Olivia Rodrigo is also one of Adriana’s all-time favorite songs. Forgive me for sharing a picture of the video screen with the progress bar and everything, but for once I actually wanted to call attention to the thumbnail. Firstly because Geoff's eyeroll is amazing and iconic, and second of all because Eli is giving a thumbs-up (i.e. the gesture for "good"), Adriana is holding up 4 fingers, and Cesar is pointing to the camera/at you. Thus, good-4-U (you)! Kinda clever!

FIRST OF ALL. wayv is my favorite nct unit. just some basic overview:

they debuted in january of 2019 as a cpop group completely separate from nct, under label v (sm entertainment but in disguise and in china)

the connection to nct was always there -- winwin was a member of nct 127 since debut (even before johnny and doyoung was added, and jungwoo was added to 127 to "replace" him) and was never removed from 127 on paper. ten debuted with t7s unit, which was nct's overall debut. kun performed without you (chinese version) when he was a trainee

they debuted with regular (chinese version), which was initially a 127 song. they also had come back (chinese version) on their debut mini, which was also originally a 127 song. technically their first song was dream launch

wayzennies don't consider regular their real debut because fucking sm couldn't be assed to let them debut with their own song smh we hate sm here

their first comeback and their debut in wayzennies' hearts was take off

after that, moonwalk, love talk, turn back time, bad alive, kick back, then they went on a cursed haitus, then they broke hiatus with phantom and now, omy

dream launch, take off, moonwalk, and turn back time are their lore music videos. wayv is the only nct unit to have lore btw!

resonance (nct 2020) was a huge era for us because that was the first time they were officially acknowledged as a unit of nct. before that, fans had to put together compilations of nct members mentioning wayv members, renjun got in trouble for mentioning winwin's name in a vlive once, and taeyong once had a vlive where he said "wayv members are here" (but he had to whisper) and showed them in the distance and waved and everything and the fandom went wild

you really had to be there, all nct units (including wayv) changed their profile pictures for 2020 at the same time and the teaser for the resonance project included shots of wayv. i almost cried.

now. lemme talk about music

wayv is one of the music units, definitely. 127 and wayv both have very distinctive musical identities that are reflected throughout their discography

btw, nct units used to have interludes on their full albums. it's more of a yearly full nct thing now, but it was used in regular (127), neo zone (127), awaken the world (wayv), and then resonance (2020) to kind of pull their entire concept together with the signature nct chime. nct interludes are also just some good music !!!

wayv as a unit has a very dramatic sound, the take off/moonwalk/turn back time holy trinity definitely is very consistent in sound and has prominent rock/orchestral elements in the instrumental plus the signature guitar dance break

a lot of their songs are produced by ldn noise and moonshine

on my youth is actually a departure from their old sound. moonlight sounds most wayv 1.0 in their album. the rest of the album is definitely wayv 2.0, which is great because it kind of signifies their transformation and renewal post-dozen

for translations i'd recommend bun bun, wayv china station, and faith (she's actually my favorite, she does a great job at translating colloquial language and remaining faithful to the 'vibe' of what was said in chinese)

what do u think about the autotune usage it’s a hot mess over this discussion on all social media sites. but many music producers were saying “it’s a stylistic choice” but these randos who have no knowledge will bitch and cry about everything 😭

Fandoms have no place for nuance. I think that has been established and it applies both to those who believe everything an artist releases is a masterpiece and to those who dislike it because in a way, they are prepared for that. There's barely any room left for being open to be surprised or admit that a song might not be to one's liking.

There's also a confusion between liking/not liking made equivalent to good/bad. There's clearly no literacy here and when our own bias towards an artist/music style is strong, it can definitely take over the analytical abilities.

In the case of this song, I think it's perfectly understandable to not like the autotune. But when there are no arguments, or they're weak or lastly, not liking it means the song is shit, then that's the issue. I don't like how the end result sounds like, but that's a thing between me and my ears (😅) and it doesn't take away from the fact that I understand its stylistic purpose or play ignorant and say autotune is bad in all forms, regardless of its use. And it doesn't mean I will ignore all the other elements of the actual song, from melody to lyrics, to the entire production and consequently to definitely ignore the choreography and the music video. One aspect I would dislike does not make me hate the full work. Does it make my ears bleed? No. Am I interested in the song in its entirety and consequently I try and understand it? Yes.

But this is something that I can't expect from everyone because it's an impossible thing to want. Beyond the not liking it = the song is shit debacle, our bias is the one that is more visible in some reaction to the release. If one doesn't like BTS, then they won't like Jimin's song or they would be reluctant from the start. And if they find one element which invites criticism (the autotune), then that's enough for them. They're not going to waste their time anymore because they are not fans. Again, that is understandable as well. Perhaps I too wouldn't stop to observe all the intricacies to a song that I listened to once and it wasn't my taste. I would move on and not think about it and obviously not listen to it.

What I do find "interesting" (and which annoys me to no end) are the double standards. There is not a single K-Pop group or soloist who doesn't have shitty songs or albums. Just like it applies to everyone out there who makes music, including critically acclaimed artists. And they also use autotune at some point or another for various purposes. It's also pop music for fucks sake, not a live recording of a folk album or opera. There are also mediocre albums and songs releases in K-Pop. Which is fine. There is nothing wrong with something mediocre and I personally don't attach to it mere negative connotations. We can't have great songs and bad songs only. And great songs are usually rarer than everything else. We also do listen to a ton of music that is not good, but we still like it. There's plenty of K-pop song releases out there that sound the same. And they do that because regardless of who produces them, it's easier to see similarities because they follow the trends, be it from X or Y label. And we accept that. I know I do.

But somehow in what I've observed in the last 24h (although there's a history there), all of a sudden the standards change. Jimin is K-Pop as well, but he is not allowed to release anything other than a masterpiece. If it's not to that standard, then it's trash. How does that make any sense? Well, it doesn't because if someone doesn't like him, the group he is in and the company he works for, then they won't like the stuff he releases, even if it would be critically acclaimed. That's what it boils down to.

We lay down next to each other in the bed, and when his hand accidentally brushed mine, my heart skips a beat. After a few minutes pass, the silence only proves Gov has finally fallen asleep.

I quietly get out of the bed and grab the tea cup to take it back to the kitchen.

“I love you” I whisper to him before closing the door to my room, “I really, really do”

I know he’ll never hear it.

September 18, 1999

I rub my eyes tiredly as i watch the news.

As usual, some reporter was complaining about me. That wasn't anything new, but there's something misery-inducing about sitting by the Tv, Soju in hand while someone talks about how you are apparently "damaging America's youth."

The reporter, a pretty blonde with a shaggy bob, is going into a tirade about "Split" and the negative affect it's having on young girls.

"These songs are so, so damaging for young women. The music video for Good 4 u contains such graphic violence! I mean, Jamie literally lights a house on fire, with her boyfriend inside. Is this the kind of person we want our girls to become?!"

I scoff and take another swig from the bottle.

Does she mean strong women who won't allow men to disrespect them? Because, personally, i think every mother would want that for their child...

"And don't even get me started on the cuss words." She sighed deeply, as if trying to calm herself from her panic. "Vampire? Gasoline? Nightmare? They all have so many explicit words and references that growing girls really shouldn't be hearing. She claims she wants to inspire women to be there best selves, but all she wants to do is drag them down with her. Has anyone listened to Gasoline? It's like she's encouraging us to join her in her insanity. Well, i for one, want to stay out of it."

I bite my lip. I can't deny it, her words sting. And for the hundreth time, i wondered if it had all been a mistake.

Was i wrong in returning to music? Was i truly inspiring anyone, or was i just pulling my fans into my darkness?

I didn't know for sure, but Soju always clears the mind.

I'm about to take another swig, when i get a call.

"Jamie, hi! How are you, we haven't talked since before you went to the VMA's! We should have a girls night and you can tell me all about it!" I hold back an eyeroll at the sound of Brittany's cheerful voice. I love her like a sister, but she's just so... positive.

Before i get a chance to make a flimsy excuse, she starts protesting.

 "C'mon, you did so well at the Vmas. You deserve it!"

I sigh with a soft smile. It never takes much for her to convince me...

"Ok, ok, you got me. But i'm not in the mood for another media circus. We'll order a pizza food, and you can come over and we'll watch a movie. Deal?"

I'm not really sure what to wear, but it's only a girls night in, so i settle for a dark satin robe and pair of hideous looking bunny slippers that Brittany got for my birthday. They were supposed to be a "joke" gift, but i had liked them enough to keep them. I use a claw clip to style my hair into a messy bun, I look into the mirror with an accepting sigh.

I'm disgusting. I look 100% disgusting.

Before i can sink further into self-hate, the doorbell rings, and i smile to myself. It must be her. That's my Brittany, always swooping in when i need her the most.

I try not to seem too excited as i open the door and embrace her.

She shoots me a big smile. "Thanks for sending Miguel to pick me up. It's great to see you, you look amazing!"

I smirk with false bravado.

"Always."

Brittany lays her head on my shoulder as we snuggle up on the couch and watch "Titanic." I think it's a little boring, but the acting is good, and it makes for good background noise as we pass the bottle around and talk about our lives. Besides, it's one of Brittany's favorite movies... but i'm positive she doesn't watch it for the plot. And i've got no problem telling her so.

Brittany lets out a soft chuckle at my comment. "Of course I watch it for the content...well, most of it" she adds, flashing me a quick grin. "Okay, maybe your right and it's mostly for the eye candy. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a good looking man. And so are you, i hear." I roll my eyes.

"What did Miguel tell you?"

"Nothing... i just heard you had some fun with Eminem."

I bite my black nails at the mention of the hookup, and avoid eye contact. Damn Miguel. Of course he told.

The morning after.

I try to ignore my driver's grin as i crawl into the limo.

Miguel looks back at me with a devilish smile on his face. "You wanna talk about last night?"

"Shut up. My plane won't wait forever." He shrugs and finally starts the car.

"So, you really just hit it and quit it on him, huh? I thought you were a little classier than that. He's probably pretty sore right now, I mean who were you trying to please, exactly? Him or yourself?"

"Eyes on the road, Ramirez." I snap irritably, rubbing my tired eyes.

Miguel stares at me through the rearview mirror for a moment longer before shrugging and turning his attention back to the road. We ride in silence for a while and a few minutes later, I finally break the silence. "So, for future reference, how much time do I need to spend with a guy before I sleep with him for you to think it is classy?"

Miguel answered the question without skipping a beat. "I'm thinking at least 3 hours." he replied, the side of his mouth curving up in a smirk.

I roll my eyes.

"Nevermind. Why do i ask you anything?"

Miguel laughs quietly as he keeps driving. "Because i'm so damn wise, of course."

"Wisecracking maybe."

He sniggers.

"I'll take it."

I snapped out of my daydream to see Brittany squeezing my shoulder with a soft smile.

She can always read my body language with ease. "Hey, look at me," she says softly, waiting for that eye contact again. "I know you're going through a lot right now- that can't be easy. The way I see it, Eminem was just a little fun to help you take your mind off things, right?"

I smile faintly, squeezing her hand in mine. "Thanks Brit. For understanding. and for... well, everything."

"No worries, that's what friends are for, right?" Brittany leans towards me and gives her a reassuring hug. "Besides, we all gotta have a little fun now and then."

"True. And i did have a lot of fun, to be honest. It's been a while since i slept with someone." Brittany smirks at me.

"And let's be honest, if you had to pick someone to break your dry spell with, you couldn't have picked someone better than Eminem." She adds." That's like, the ultimate fantasy come true. Now you're back on top both in the music scene and in the bedroom. Just don't get too attached to him, I don't think he's the kind of guy who wants anything long term. Maybe you can have a little fun with him a few more times and then move on." I curl up my nose is distaste.

"Oh, i'm not planning on seeing his face again, trust me."

She shrugs. "Okay, so just a one time thing. I get it. No judgement. How was he? I mean he seems like he would be really good at this kind of thing." I roll my eyes and take another swig from the bottle of Soju.

"Let's not talk about any more men tonight." Brittany rolls her eyes.

"Buzzkill. Just promise me one thing: I want to know everything when you finally meet a guy you actually like."

Oh, yeah, like that's ever gonna happen.

"You will. I promise." I say, mostly to reassure her.

Brit smiles and lets out a sigh of relief. She plops her head back on my shoulder. "Okay, good. I'm here for you Jamie, you know that, right?" I smile softly.

Here's the thing about getting (responsibly) piss drunk with a group of friends who are all enablers and won't ever discourage you from doing stupid things on a whim, as much as it sounds like an epically bad idea, sometimes (read: very rarely) it yields positive results.

Like that one time, fueled by copious amounts of liquid courage and the encouragement of your drunk friends, drunk you had sent that presentation you'd drafted to your then crush (who might have also been an coworker at the time), basically to try and convince him that you would be a good partner, and you'd ended up getting a really adorable email back saying that he was also interested and definitely would love to go on a date sometime.

That relationship had lasted a solid 6 months (which was really great considering your track record), and it had been good run, ended amicably even. You and your now ex co-worker were still on good terms, so yeah, all in all, a positive experience.

Then there was that one time you and your friends had gotten drunk and, for some goddamn reason, had gathered all the unsolicited dick pics you'd received over the years (because again, for some goddamn reason, you still had them in your DMs) and filmed your reactions to each and every dick pic (without revealing the senders, of course), commenting on the quality of the images (lighting, angles, etc.) while also rating each dick. Sober you had then used that footage, edited it to perfection, included digital renderings of said dick pics to add to the video (because as NSFW as your channel could get, you didn't need to put actual dicks in your videos) and uploaded it to your channel.

Currently, it was your most popular video, and the one that had quite literally made you famous overnight. A bunch of commentary and reaction channels were suddenly talking about you, and you'd even gotten messages from a lot of creators you looked up to, commending you on your hilarious content and hoping to see more.

Okay so, it really was just those two instances where you'd gotten something good out of heavily drinking.

That would change soon, though, because your next drunken adventure with your friends would change your life in ways you would have never imagined (in the best way possible).

"I can't believe I let you assholes talk me into this-" you groan as you scroll through the dozens of messages you'd received over the past few hours on your freshly created dating profile.

"Hey, this was your idea babe, we were just being loving and supportive-"

"By encouraging me to sign up on secret benefits dot com?" you ask, glaring at your friend over the rim of your coffee mug.

For context, you'd just woken up with a killer headache (as you do every weekend, because you and your friends have zero control and always, always get drunk off your asses on the weekend) to your phone absolutely blowing up on your nightstand from notification after notification, alerting you of a new 'Daddy' that wanted to get to know you better.

Apparently drunk you had thought it would be a real fun idea to sign up to become a sugar baby, and your equally drunk friends had agreed (because of course they did).

You had begrudgingly opened some of the messages that you'd received, and most of them were pretty tame, surprisingly.

"Yeah, I'm deleting this," you mumble, clicking through the page to find the deactivation option, not before taking a few minutes to admire your own profile (drunk you had a made successful attempt at creating an enticing profile for a sugar baby, it seems).

Once you get your fill of your own pictures, you head to the deactivation page, only to be greeted with a little pop up message that says-

"Oh, what the fuck, I have to keep my profile up for a whole week?" you yell.

Your friends all groan out some variation of "keep your fucking voice down" from various parts of your bedroom, and you turn to the one friend who somehow wasn't hungover at all despite how much you all had to drink the night before.

"It says I can only delete my profile after 7 days," you say, holding up your phone so your friend could see.

"Can't you just delete the app off of your phone?"

"I could...but ugh, I don't just want my pictures up on some app like this- I need to delete my account."

"So just wait out the 7 day period, maybe chat it up with some rich men and see if they'll give you their money, I don't know," your friend shrugs, before turning back to their phone.

Huh.

"Yeah, fuck it," you mumble, going back to scrolling through the messages on SecretBenefits, looking at the profiles of all the older men you'd matched with.

It takes you an hour to set everything up, but eventually you're ready to film what's sure to be your next best video "Trying to Find a Sugar Daddy (Not Clickbait)".

"Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a great day," you say, waving at the camera. "Welcome back to my channel, this of course is another episode of Girls Just Wanna Have Funds, Specifically This Girl, This Girl Needs Money and She Needs It Now."

You laugh at your own stupid intro, before continuing. "So, the other day, my friends and I got together for drinks, and yeah I'm sure you can guess where this is going, we got drunk, and I ended up creating a profile on SecretBenefits, and I'm stuck with it for the next 7 days, so here we are," you chuckle as you hold up your phone, checking to see if the screen recording was still working.

"I'm not really trying to find a sugar daddy, this is purely for entertainment," you say before leaning close and whispering, "but if some rich zaddy wants to send me some money I wouldn't be opposed, ya know? Alright, so drunk me apparently already swiped on a bunch of potential sugar daddies, but I think we can do better so I'm going to try and get more matches. You set out to swipe on interesting looking profiles, commenting on just how big of a range of potential daddies this app had to offer.

"Okay, so that's not just an older man, that's literally a grandad, nope- wait, this guy included a picture of himself at his own wedding, oh my fucking god- 'looking for something discreet' he says- my guy maybe don't post your wedding pictures for anyone to find? Like I could easily track down this man's wife and snitch on him. Wait should I do that?" you ask, looking at the camera. "Comment down below if I should snitch on Matthew, 52."

You continue swiping through more profiles, occasionally snorting at the few messages that popped up from different matches.

"Okay, Dave wants to know if we've been on any other sites looking for an SD... SD? Sugar daddy? They have codes now?" you laugh incredulously. "I'm going to say...'no I haven't'."

Just as you're about to call it a day on swiping and focus on the matches you'd gotten so far, your eyes zero in on the next profile that shows up, and-

"There is no fucking way Nathan Bateman is on this app, this has to be a catfish situation right? Right?"

You look up at the camera. "I'm going to swipe right. It's probably, most definitely, not him, but if it is..." you trail off, looking off to the side with your eyebrows raised high.

Funnily enough, you'd actually made a video on Nathan Bateman, CEO and Founder of BlueBook. The video itself had been a Top 10 style video, where you'd rated various billionaires based on their looks and wealth, while also ranking them based on how willing you'd be to ignore their massive ego and wealth to be able to fuck them. Other notable figures on the list had been Tony Stark, Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor (who'd ranked dead last) to name a few.

You phone pings with a new message from 'Nathan Bateman'.

Just as you're about to type a reply, you get a notification from Imposter Bateman, and it has you gasping.

You go through more messages from other sugar daddies (15 to be exact), reading out their texts and formulating responses while talking to your camera, making sure to include as many funny quips you can think of before filming your outro.

The seven day wait period goes by pretty quickly, and once you deactivate your SecretBenefits account, you upload your final edited video, which had been sitting unpublished on your account for the past five days. It was short, only 10 minutes long, and it hadn't taken you a lot of time to edit, but you'd decided to post it after you'd taken down the account because the last thing you needed was for your fans to sign up for the app and try and find your profile.

The response to your video was amazing, but you expected nothing less from your loyal subscribers.

What you didn't expect though, was for them to take to Twitter and flood Bateman's mentions, asking him how he could possibly think you weren't hot. They even managed to get the hashtags #imposterbateman and #daddybateman on the trending page for a day.

↳ plz before i get called a cheater, these two tracks kinda sound the same because it's the same vocalist (TK is him as a solo artist, LTS is the band). unravel (tokyo ghoul) beats abnormalize (psycho pass) when it comes to audio, but visual-wise i just dig the art for psycho pass's OP more. like yeah the art for tokyo ghoul opening is much more of a feast to the eyes and the animations slap, but psycho pass as an anime entirely hits different to me.

↳ visuals-wise it's normal (pls it's the type of OP that feels like a spoiler if u watch it wtf 😭 but it really doesn't spoil anything). i'm just in love with this because it works well as an opening song, but also works for fight scenes (kinda like unravel).

whoever is behind bungou stray dogs sure did a great job of inserting the opening song in the middle of the episode. like i rmr getting confused there hasn't been an opening yet few mins into the episode, and then there it is in the fight scene itself. it gets a 10/10 in versatility because it just always fits all throughout the season.

↳ never beating the cheating allegations bc here we are again with a tie. in my defense, asian kung-fu generation anime openings r really fuckinnnn good. visually it's haruka kanata (naruto) for me especially cus of the team 7 snippets, but audio-wise rewrite (fma) is something i'll never get tired of listening to. makes me feel like i'm a main character smoking after i just beat up dozens of guys. (i didn't watch fma though zz but for some reasons i know of this song)

↳ durarara!! is one of my all-time fav animes tbh and this opening just gives the proper vibes for it. drrr's storytelling is very non-linear (rashomon effect/method forgot the literary term) where you get different povs from each character before it culminates into one event, and this song feels like that? it feels like i'm in the middle of tokyo piecing together all the stories i've gotten and then getting sudden clarity.

↳ someone recommended jujutsu kaisen to me way back and ngl i'm a serial anime opening skipper but i was just physically unable to skip this one every time. like? even the visuals go hard. eventful anime opening for such an eventful anime tbh.

↳ proud to be one of the ppl who actually know abt this song from bakemonogatari itself 😭 tbh the anime's opening songs don't really go hard even if it's that kind of genre. i honestly like bakemonogatari though and it was funny to me that all the ops were cutesy despite it being a mystery show.

it's quirky yet still fits the premise of the series, like mc just bickers with some people he meets and then boom suddenly he's covered in blood. shoutout to shaft studio because they're just a master of absurd anime. like yeah there are fight scenes but ?? the way it's not even the main point of the show is fun to me.

I'm finally here again, I've missed it and I feel like it's been a while since I've posted here although I really don't think it was that long ago. I don't know hahaha but what I do know is that there is a lot to talk about.

To start with we have to talk about Spinnin and OH MY GOD where do I start? I am simply IN LOVE AND OBSESSED WITH EVERYTHING RELATED TO THIS SONG. I think it's one of my favorite Madison songs of my life and right now it's my favorite song. I feel like spinnin is one of those songs that touches your soul, you know what I mean? I think it's a deep song that you can relate to in different ways and it's SO SO precious..... THE BRIDGE OF THE SONG... HELLO? I'm still obsessed MADISON HAS AN AWESOME VOICE and I don't understand how she doesn't get more recognition, because wow just wooow. this song shows perfectly how talented she is.

And the mv? God, I LOVE IT I think it's also one of my favorites, not only of Mads songs, but of all music videos in general. It is a piece of art, every scene, the aesthetics, the drama and madison's performance.... I could talk for hours about this song

The scene where Madison puts clothes in the washer and of course, spins around like Spinnin is how Madison is a genius. The scene where she runs through the corn field and the birds standing still in the sky is too cute, and then when she is on her knees with the spotlight pointed at her in front of the cars WHAT EMOTION, WHAT FEELING I literally had goose bumps

In fact, bringing up the subject of the scene of Madison running in the cornfield I like this image better as the album cover than the other one that was there. Don't get me wrong, the other cover was great and she looked super cute, but the new album cover... I love it. I think it fits really well with the album

And another super important thing, THE SNIPPETS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I'm super super super excited. Sweet relief I really like it, I love the vibes it has and I can't wait to listen to the whole thing, Envy the leaves (which if I'm not mistaken was one of the songs you were claiming, no?)
