Moment of clarity (?)

Just sitting here watching Jikook song edits, cause I'm missing the hell out of those two, and couldn't help but think how stupid and futile all the accusations and claims and ensuing discussions about one's reaction to the other, or one's behaviour to the other or any kind of interaction they had that didn't suit what fans (usually solos on either side of the picture) expected of them. You know what I mean. All those judgy claims and comments about how JK reacts or treats JM and vise versa, same about JM 'forcing' himself on JK or the likes of that.

How dumb those people look (and should feel as well if they only had a sliver of common sense) right now.

Inserting themselves into a relationship (whatever form it may have had) to know what these two people were all about, their interactions, their reactions towards each other, without truly knowing them, without seeing anything but a few recorded seconds (all while ignoring not only many other recorded moments but also what they themselves say about each other and to each other).

But you see, this isn't something new to me, and I did address it when answering mostly annoying asks (something I haven't been doing for some time now seeing just how futile it is - you cannot convince the inconvincible).

No.

The reason I had this specific moment of clarity while watching them was because things have changed.

Well, changed since those two have made it as clear as can be that they want and need each other's proximity.

That they will do whatever it takes to not only enlist at the same time, but to do so together. To spend their entire service together. 24/7. Together. Knowing EXACTLY what and how it looks like. Knowing EXACTLY what people (so many of them) will think, even if some will not say it out loud or spell it out. No other member did this with another, and neither of them did it with any other member, how ever close we know them to be. Because no one is closer to them than they are to each other!!

And why don't we add to that, them going on a trip together just before enlistment, to Japan, you know, that same destination they went to back in November 2017. The same trip they both could not stop telling us about.

Yeah, I know there's a travel show coming (which we have no clue what will look like - if vlog-like or actual Bon Voyage style or something in between), and most of what they do could be explained away (and that's the point, they are clever that way), but let's be real here for a sec. The show, it's a very clever way to kill two birds with one stone. Literally. Getting to travel together before enlistment (I can assure you that 90% of what they got up to we will not be seeing, and they travelled first and utmost because they wanted to travel and do it together, and anyone who claims otherwise, that this was forced in some way on one or both of them is an idiot, well they probably also believe that they enlisted together against their wills) all while under the guise of doing it for work, and at the same time creating content to be released while they are away. It's a win win, or like I said, two birds one stone.

So yeah, their travelling will be in a show, but they travelled together because they wanted to travel together and not because there was content to be made. Content being the bi product of their genius idea of guising their trip as work...

Bottom line, point I wanted to make here with all of this is that those dissecting every single moment between them miss the whole picture. It's not about this moment or another. It's about what they bring together as a big picture, one that they have been telling us and showing us for years now. And if we didn't see or hear it before, well they made sure we would now.

Because being together during these 18 months was more important to them than hiding who they are and what they mean to each other.

Fuck the consequences (and fuck the haters too - JM literally said it in SMF pt. 2)...

We know JK didnt write the songs from his album, but he made very clear in interviews that he made sure to look for translations of the lyrics and to learn what the songs are saying before choosing them.

Oh so he got all translations and understood very well but still went with those fuck ass songs like 3D ? There's a line between sexy/explicit songs vs vulgar songs. 3D was very vulgar with many appropriate comparisons about women and sex... and JK still chose to sing them and include in his album. Forget they are all about him fucking women and orgasm but I thought he said none of songs is about him personally? Or is 'jikook song' narrative is only when it feeds the delusions ?

We, the true stans of captain private Jungkook do know, BEEN KNEW, been always aware of the FACT he does check out the lyrics to the songs he covers and sings and he always understands what it is that he sings about or recommends.

Which is why we've always said he's queer coded as fuck because of certain covers certain song choices certain artistic lens and expressional point of views- he may not have written there for you but he sure as hell understood what the song meant its romantic connotations, it's queer artist and its queer codes and he superimposed that on Jimin as the object of his lens.

BOY I'm holding on to something won't let go of you for nothing. I'm running running just to keep my hands on you- is pretty much a rewrite of standing next to you one would say. Or perhaps the vice versa.

Jungkook is drawn to certain themes in music either gay or straight and he's selected one that talks about boy love gay love as layover over a footage of another man he filmed- I'm glad we can agree, you and I that that is something because he is neither ignorant of or stupid to know how such a content would be understood by the General public especially those outside Korea.

So I do agree with you, all jikookers agree with you that Jungkook checks out the lyrics of the songs, that he understands what they mean yadda yadda yadda.

The only delusional person I see here, is the individuals who fail to read any queer meanings into GCF tokyo and the many other queer coded moments of Jikook- wait that's you isn't it?????

Oh and FYI, we also know he's dated WUHMEN in the past and said he didn't particularly enjoy it or understand what the hype was about and never felt real love while dating the girlies.

Yet I think he found real love with Park Jimin and it knocked him off his feet. Gay love. Mh mh mhh

Edit: and in case you missed the point here, 3D is a very commercial project not very personal to him. He had to choose and do what will sell....

Compared to a personal projects such as GCF in Tokyo where he didn't care how it was going to be received by fans or the commercial market- hell when he was advised to choose another member to generate clout and buzz he refused. He chose a gay song for that instead to promote same love.

That's how personal it was for him. No?

I'm not a jikooker because I prefer jimin with another member I ship him with..jimin is someone so affectionate and caring towards the people around him. With this jm is close to each member but somehow for some reason its always jikook who are spotted hanging out together off schedule. so many sightings from army spotting them in a restaurant and restaurants confirming this.the DVD memory 90% is jikook ofc the company favors them more that's why they film only their moments. because honestly as I ship jm with another pason I tend to always spot jikook together that it pisses me off so much.have had enaf of them together.no hate to jk but he should leave jm alone sometimes not hovering around him all the time duh!my question the latest run bts suga said "that's smth a couple would do" I mean why do they feel the need to highlight that all the time? Thats weird 😭if jikook are real and closeted isn't this exposing them?outing them just for a content lol it doesn't work that way.this is putting them at risk given they are in a homophobic country? or maybe the company wants to push this narrative of jikook as a couple?.also have mentioned about them spotted many times hanging out but we never see any other member hanging out off schedule just recently I saw jihope watching soccer. Honestly I don't know if I should be flattered or mad or both or neither at this Ask so I'm just gonna be as respectful as I can be.

I haven't watched the run episode. I've only seen snippets but I will watch it this weekend. I have a ton of analysis to do and I hate commenting on stuff I haven't consumed.

This is not the first time Suga has said something of that nature. He's been alleged to have said "You weren't even a couple then" during Festa when Jikook shared the rain story.

Jin has made similar statements as have Namjoon and the others. When it comes to Jikook that is. He'll jikook have called themselves a couple too.

Since I don't speak their language and can't understand the nuances of it myself, I refrain from depending on any linguistic analysis for validation. I just take notice of it and carry on with my life.

Karmy can be a bit prudish and wow at everything because it's bold and daring and so out of the norm and gosh did you hear that? that's so gay, and sensationalise almost everything because they are so shocked easily by the prospect of two men "acting gay" when gay is so such taboo in their culture.

They are like me when I stare at a vagina that isn't my own.

I've said this over and over, but perhaps the company gravitate towards Jikook not only because what they have is authentic but because it's the best content they have💀

Best in terms of content production, engagement with fans, conversion of that engagement into monetary value, their chemistry is great, they self produce or come up with independently thought of and creative spontaneous moments that the best of hybe CCs couldn't conceive if they tried.

Which is strange because Vmin have awesome chemistry too and frankly I'm trynna see it. Jimin is a whole other mellow character around Taehyung sometimes. He steps back and let Tae take it away. Whereas around Jungkook most times, he gets so animated and hyper you'd think he swallowed a dynamite.

Not sure how much of his hyper activity is triggered by a subconscious awareness of Jungkook's proclivity towards introversion on screen. Whereas with V I feel he's more trusting of his co-workers ability to engage the audience on his own and come up with exciting and unique ideas for them to engage in without him necessarily worrying about censorship and worrying Tae's nerves will cause him to slip or make mistakes.

With Jungkook he gets lost trying to loosen him up and get him to relax on screen and not be soo aware of the cameras, or not read too much into anything he does while also trying to rile him up to get a reaction out of him because he's often fascinated by Jk's visceral response and reaction to him. He acts like there's no camera around, JK it's into it but soon forgets that millions of people are watching and so Jimin has to be on high alert around him. They give me headaches but I'm toxic so I love it. Bring it on Jikook.

Anywho, that was old Vmin. And old Jikook. These days Jungkook is the one that tries to loosen JM up.

And these days VMin can't play or keep it going for more than 5minutes without boring us to death with whatever weird vibes and inside jokes they have going on between them.

Don't get me wrong, they have impeccable chemistry and are also very good friends but let them be alone for an hour and you start blinking blankly at the screen- like you know there's something they not telling us and they matured and they all acting like grown ups with so much self respect and admiration for eachother.

Like when Tae confessed he liked Jimin alot I didn't expect Jimin's reaction at all, certainly not Suga cringing cos if those two are besties and face time eachother everyday I love you should be something they both should be used to hearing from eachother by now and their friends should be used to their shenanigans too by now.

Besides Taehyung confesses his love for Jimin more than he breathes oxygen in the air and this is Bangtan raised to the power Kpop- gay isn't exactly new to them if you know what I mean.

Yet no one said well that's so something a couple will do for that VMin moment. They cringed harder than a ma cracks his knuckles. Like friends would if another friend started acting homo around the bro table. There's a scene from Boys over flowers where Lee Minho goes to kiss another one of their friends- note to self, gurl, you have to rewatch those dramas you loved it. We loved it. Cool? Cool.

That moment with vmin and Suga reminds me each time of that scene from the drama.

Where's if actual couples did it, the reaction would be one of just pure awkwardness because no one knows how to react around couples. You can't stare at them on the bus when they kiss cos you feel you are the creep creeping up on private moments. It's just awkward and you don't know what to do with yourself.

Then if they are your friends you try to play it up by teasing them, mimicking them, hooting at them

Or you just exchange awkward glances and smirk

And to put things into perspective, Namjin cringing and bursting out a romantic soundtrack over Jikook's rain fight narration was warranted.

It was the first time they were hearing this from them and their reaction was as anyone would- yet Suga didn't find that cringing AT ALL like he had found VMins moment to be- just a smirk like it's just ridiculous with those two. See how similar Jin had reacted to their hickey story too?

Hobi forgets to react at all sometimes💀

He just smiles warmly and stares or laugh his brains out. Except for that one time Jungkook let it slip he wanted to be handcuffed by Jimin🥺

And why was it necessary for Tae to say that? Why was it necessary for Tae to make that confession? And why did the members intuitively assume JM was going to choose Jungkook for that? Namjoon went with V but only because he voided his gut instincts and used his head. We've all been there.

Jimin have said Tae has matured so much and we only see glimpses of Old Tae but he's different. Of course that's gonna impact the way they interact on screen.

They keep saying that's something a couple will do because THAT'S SOMETHING A COUPLE WILL REALLY DO.

There's no beating around the bush about it.

The ironical friends sharing a couch or they look exceptionally close today does not explain why they sneak into each other's hotel rooms or why cameras were placed in their rooms without their notice and Jikook had to walk in blindsided.

Jimins reaction was priceless.

You frankly don't need to see or hear them going out to restaurants to know something's up with those two. You don't.

Anyone who claims otherwise is just in denial.

Personally, if a Korean were to ask me about Jikook I'd say to them they are friends fuck off. If an Iarmy were to ask I'll say they are more than that. I see them for what they are and I celebrate them, I appreciate them, I love them and I support them. But I will protect them against anyone that posed a threat to their safety their well-being and their essence.

It's just the gay way.

And I feel this is often the conundrum people are faced with when it comes to Jikook. On one hand, they want to be celebrated- who wouldn't -but on the other hand their safety careers and lives could be as stake and they would want to protect that too.

And the best way to do that, if I were a company, would be to hide them in plain sight. Which is what everyone and their momma does with Jikook.

Jikook have not always been the creme de la creme of ships and hybe have not always used them as their go to fanservice ship. Granted fanservice is part of Kpop.

The Busan Brothers have split. The sun and moon duo blah- jikook don't nearly get marketed as a couple as much as other ships in bts to be frank. Editors have called Tae Kook romantic or a couple with chest in content, Sope get called couples almost everyday, they deliberately put members together to promote stuff because THEY ARE ALL THERE TO WORK.

This is somebody's business. They invest real money Into all of this. If ships were hurting their business and hard earned or borrowed money, they would dead that shit two dinosaurs ago. The fact they ain't said nothing means it's serving them. We are the puppets and they are the puppeteers.

They pull the strings and we go. Not the other way round.

As to whether they are doing this at the expense of Jikook, Jikook would be the best determiners of that. They have agency and in the past where they were "too young" to comprehend the consequences of their actions they had their hyungs to look at for them- hence all those tensions and allegations of members breathing down their necks.

Bighit was acting like Kris Jenner, encouraging them to strip and gyrate metaphorically for the cameras while they smiled all the way to the bank to cash out.

But it's 2022, a year where BTS have gone up against the government of Korea itsself and decided by themselves to call off any postponement to their military service and serve.

This is the same year you want to peddle the Hybe making Jikook do fanservice in their PRIVATE LIVES???

Going solo is pretty scary and they are all transitioning well and adjusting well to it. That's all that matters. Let's be glad that in spite of their personal projects that they make time to connect with their members and keep the spirit of BTS alive.

Real heartache is them finding BTS outside BTS and forgetting how precious their friend group once was.

But I get where you are coming from. rather than try to manifest Jungkook out of the picture, try manifesting your fave into the picture and go nag them until they call him up m- don't worry I'll put them through when the call comes. Wink.

Jimin is an extrovert and honestly he is well adjusted. I don't think he needs much help connecting with ppl.

My good sis, let's just enjoy the breadcrumbs while we can, before Jikook officially ties the knot🤧

Don't you think tkkrs and jkkrs do basically the same? Both sides say the same things, both sides have moments that look real. If so isn't the logical conlucion that no ship is real?

Hi anon!

To be honest, when I first started to enter BTS shipping territory... that was something I seriously considered. I have therefore also watched Jikook footage. Not as much these days, since to me the difference between Taekook and Jikook is by now quite clear, but I have watched Jikook analysis and Jikook moments a lot. While many just stumble upon a ship and get attached and have basically decided that their ship is the one, I just wanted to know (as far as that's possible) the truth. Other than that, I've also watched Run, In the Soop, Bon Voyage and interviews and lives. And there just is a difference to be observed.

You can also see this difference in the way Taekookers and Jikookers discuss their ship. Without wanting to be insulting to younger fans (I'm so sorry, but this all has to do with experiences and in general younger persons just haven't got as many experiences with relationships), but Jikookers way of describing and percieving Jikooks relationship is a very immature one. Focusing very much on (percieved) sexual interactions, on a lack of selfcontrol in Jimin and Jk, on rebellion against societal norms, on pettiness between the two of them, on mental games and manipulation, and there is in general not much growth in the way they experience Jikook's relationship. Speaking mostly for myself (but I see this reflected in other Taekook blogs) (not going to talk about Twitter, because that's a whole mess in itself), I see a definite growth in how Tae and Jk dealt with their relationship as they matured. While in the beginning they were very prone to get jealous, and obviously at times insecure and (due to their age) at times incapable of holding back emotions, over time they got more secure, more stable, more trusting and other (more adult themes) took over, like: a sense of comfort, frustration on not being able to claim the other, restraint, professionality.

I understand the difficulties when it comes to decyphering these things. Both bonds are close and real, both bonds show physical and mental closeness, but it's in the deeper meaning and the subtlety of behaviors where the real difference lies. Tae and Jk are in general much more aware of each other's personal lives and schedules then Jimin and Jk, always have been. There are many important moment's where Jimin for instance showed surprise when Tae and Jk didn't. The Yoongi text message situation for instance:

Neither Tae or Jk show surprise about he other having received a message, they knew they both got one. Jimin however, he did not. And there's more instances like that, which convey to me that while close, Jk and Jimin don't share some stuff with each other that I feel couples would.

I think Jikookers are often just plain wrong. I see people claim things that are just undeniably false. Just now scrolling though Tumblr I see claims by Jikookers that I can immediately debunk, without having to search for evidence I know for a fact that some instances are wrong. Claiming that Jimin only does certain things with Jk, false. Claiming that Jk is rebelious and doesn't care about breaking the rules, false. It also lies in their insecurity about Jk and Tae. While I have no problem adressing the bond between Jk and Jimin as close, Jikookers always describe Tae and Jk's actions as being instigated by Tae only... that Tae just cannot control himself and that Jk just lets him. They never come to me with explanations for some really intense Taekook moments... these ones for instance:

One of the reasons I don't buy Jikook for a second is the way Vminkook interacts amongst each other. While Tae doesn't always appreciate Jimin and Jk being close, he's mostly fine with it... but, when he does exhibit possesive behavior towards Jk... Jimin yields to him. Jimin knows when it's important to back of. And Jikookers can slam me with GCF's and rosebowl moment all they can, but those moments can all be filled away in the friendship category, but Jimin yielding to Tae when it comes to Jk can imo not. And it does not happen the other way around.

Aside from this, Jk also continously shows a preverence for Tae over Jimin (and other members for that matter). He shows that through comments and he shows that through actions. That is quite hard to prove I know, because of the sheer amount of BTS footage there is and for every moment I show there will be someone saying: that's only once. But it is there, I just haven't got a tally going to actually proof it.

If people look at Jikook and think they're brothers or platonic, I can't imagine what people think of me and husband of 20 years. I'm not a PDA person. If we're in public, I shy away from any form of PDA. Its always been that way. Doesn't mean I don't love my husband and that we're not intimate. I'm just a very introverted person, who likes to keep affection private. People are hell bent on using skinship/touching to prove something's real. We don't have to prove our love, neither does Jikook.

Every relationship is different and functions differently. Just because it isn't how you would react or want your partner to react, does not mean that other people are not perfectly happy with whatever they have got going on.

Jimin and Jungkook's relationship is their own and no one gets to tell them how they need to act and behave while in it. If they are happy with whatever they have going on, that is all that matters. Just because something is different than how you (general you) would do it, does not make it any less valid. Some people in this fandom need to step off their asses and let them breathe!

P.S. yes, I've absolutely been using these anon asks to cycle through super cute jikook and bts gifs mostly at random. No, I'm not sorry!

I hope it's okay if I vent lol but like one I loved the memories, but I have a friend who loves Taekook but she's super upset about the Jikook flirting kiss thing and I'm trying to tell her to calm down that she takes shipping too far. She tells me she is more upset because she doesn't believe anymore 🙃 which is the issue to begin with, but I'm not sure how to handle this anymore. I mean I never believed any ship to be real and I mean that whole jikook moment is major proof it isn't because if taekook were real I'd imagine neither would let a friend get that close. I try to explain to her but she shut me out and now I'm just kind of lost. I feel maybe I messed up.

It‘s always good to vent, so don‘t worry!

I‘m happy to hear you enjoyed the memories DVD and i‘m sad to hear that your friends seems to be caught up with shipping… 😕 The moment you get upset over Jungkook and Jimin being close, is the moment you should realize that your idea of their relationship is getting a life of their own. Same applies to Taehyung and Jungkook, of course.

It‘s also important to remember that we are talking about official content, which got supervised, cut and was sorted into the Memories collection deliberately. So nothing we see on there will „prove“ or „disprove“ any relationship they might have in any constellation. That wouldn‘t make much sense. It‘s just a collection of moments and weighing their actions or closeness against each other is honestly uncalled for.

I don‘t know if you are looking for advise, so i will say this just in case someone reads this and is in a similar situation: Don‘t argue on hypothetical levels. Remind yourself why you chose to be a fan of the band and what all of them mean to each other. They have shown again and again how close they are and the reality, we as fans live in, is that they are all friends with each other period. Nothing less, nothing more. You can gush over their moments and take things as an indicator for romance if it‘s what you feel like, but that should never reach levels where you feel uncomfortable, when other members show affection towards each other too.

I hope everyone can just enjoy the moments for what they are and what they were meant for: comfort.

I hope you can sort things out with your friend and that they can come to enjoy Jikook moments nonetheless. :) Have a nice day! 💜

I'm a jikooker...or at least I used to be until a month ago or so...sometimes,when we believe that something is real, we tend to ignore little details that doesn't fit our "truth"...but in ITS 2 for example we got to know that Jimin didn't see Bam since he was a pup, why didn't he go with his "boyfriend" to visit the training center to see Bam's progress? At least once?? And today's fanmeeting behind...Jimin had no idea that JK shower from left to right side...he was really surprised

In Harry's concert...JK was drunk (so was Tae) but from all the fancams we didn't see him touch his "boyfriend"...not even once...It was all Jimin initiating little skinship...isn't that weird? He was vibing with Tae and smiling, holding hands and singing his lungs out...I don't think taekook are a thing but neither is jikook. Maybe they were before but not anymore...still they seem to be in good terms and love each other very much...I just don't see romance between them.

Really find it hard to believe you were ever a jikooker if those two details derailed your support 😶. I promise real world relationships are not what you see in fanfics. Grown adults have separate daily lives aside from their partners. Nobody is with each other every waking moment of the day. JK himself said he didn’t see Bam very often while he was at the training center because *shocker* they are BUSY. There’s also still a pandemic going on if you’ve forgotten?? I own a dog myself and my vet’s rules went from owners not being allowed inside the office at all, to only allowing 1 owner to be with the dog. And let’s say there was no visitor limit there, they would both need to be available to go together and even then how would that be explained to the trainers there? Bam is JK’s dog, his responsibility, therefore it makes sense for him to be the one to go visit him.

Something I haven’t disclosed here I don’t think is that i have been in a relationship for over 10 years and have lived with them just as long. I can tell you so many details about my partners habits that i’ve learned over the years,but i could not tell you what direction they soap their bodies in?? That’s such a random thing to even know? And i can personally tell you i have changed my own shower habits over the years so they wouldn’t even know how i do things? I honestly don’t know why i’m explaining all this smh but it’s things like this that makes me question y’all.

As for the 2nd half of your ask i can assure you that they were not drunk 🥴 it usually takes a lot more than say 1 or 2 drinks to even feel a buzz let along be drunk enough to not know your own actions. Also they are high profile celebrities that know they will be filmed when people see them do you honestly think they’d actually get drunk in public? They were all just vibing and relaxing. Having a good time. That’s it. Y’all are seriously reading way too much into all of this. There’s nothing i can do to convince you to see what i see anon.
