Army twitter is in shreds today

If you haven't heard major fansites,

Mighty_jimin (jm's) Hearttrhrob_jm (jm's) winterVerry1230 (taehyung's)

ALL went into rest mode today, cus according to them, have been constantly cyber bullied (from light name calling, racial slurs to death threats) and can't take it any longer.

This has been boiling for some time now and I feel like culminated from busy twitter thread-makers who have falsely targeted fansites and labelled them “ALL fansites are sasaengs.”

Twitter is a fractioned app and misleading misinformation spreads fast, before you now it the sheep mob flock has arrived.

I'll get to the point. There's different groups of people on army twitter as of now:

Group 1. Fansites are a safety issue in concerts with their big lens cameras

Group 2. ALL fansites are sasaengs, doing illegal activity

Group 3. Fansites aren't the problem

There's a lot of hypocritical behaviour going around as well. There's also misinformation about the word “sasaeng” itself, a lot of people can't grasp the meaning of it, still.

“sasaengs:

Sasaengs are non-stop stalkers, they buy information, break in, steal & sell idol's things, call non-stop, harrass, don't care about anyones safety, send threatening msgs or death threats, camp near idols dorm & ent. building, think they own the idol, want to be memorable so they do questionable things, like scratch them, jump on them etc, purposefully stay in the same hotel, purposefully buy leaked flight information & take the same flight, buy or leak (if they get pissed) idol's personal information (whatever it may be: dating, family, smoking/drinking, phone numbers etc).”

Anyone who goes under this is essentially a sasaeng or have sasaeng like tendencies.

However fansites who've gotten on the same flight(s) as the group and haven't been blacklisted by bighit are not sasaengs in this case (keep in mind bighit's list, the list comes with “warnings”, so not everyone who's on that list is blacklisted but a few of them are, yes).

See people like the perks that fansites give them:

HD or 4K fancams (bighit hasn't even uploaded the BBMA's one, still)

HD pics, that people like to save, use as their DP pics, lockscreen/home, make fanart out of them or use in their unofficial merch.

Member/group support (b-day support, comeback support, special day support, bulk buying albums/official merch (earlier days & c-armys still order through fansites/fanbases cus this way it's much cheaper), large donation & charity projects for different causes.

They like when fansites show up in prestigious events like The AMA's or BBMA's, they liked when fansites bought very expensive gifts & fan support for bangtan (for years) when the member's were dead broke, so they wouldn't be too embarrassed. But the larger the fandom grows, more forgetful we get, I guess. Majority of the international side don't know how it really was & they don't get it to be honest. That's that.

There are problematic fansites who have been blacklisted (several times) by bighit themselves, fansites who have been outed for being too sasaeng like, there's been threads with lists made (several times) but cus the fandom is too big and too misinformed the “mob” go and bully fansites who's only crime has been smuggling in their cameras to concerts so “we” all of “us” can enjoy previews, hd's, fancams, buy our little banners etc- so they could raise profit to give back and support the band with their huge projects. They always come through. Remember that pink train project, Soul subway line 2? It was meant for wishing the group a happy new year, alongside celebrating Jin's & Taehyung's b-day.

fansites like A little braver 92 (jin's), Jiminiful (jm's), Adonis (hobi), MoNiJunNi (namjoon's), taetaeeyes1230 (v's), sugacoffee309 (yoongi's) and a few other, all came together and made this project happen.

How do you think that huge project came to be? This also promoted the band, was on the news..

There's also a 4th group of people on twitter who're just plain hypocrites, claiming that what fansites do is illegal (meaning concert picture taking, filming) while they:

having fansite taken pics as their DP (which goes against what they believe & say)

watching/downloading/uploading paid content on youtube or 3rd party sites (vlive+, bon voyage, DVD's, ALL PAID CONTENT etc) which is ILLEGAL

concert streaming- ILLEGAL (this goes under the same rules that fansites break as well)

filming/taking photos during soundcheck- ILLEGAL

making/selling/purchasing fake merch (clothes, photos, stickers, plushies etc)- ILLEGAL

publishing/leaking fancafe content to various online platforms (twitter, instagram etc)- ILLEGAL

US & EU armys are saying that it's worrisome to go to a concert when there's a possibility that fansites get through = so anyone can get through (troubled person, terrorist etc.) and I do understand this point but the way army twitter goes about it, terrorising fansites & bullying them while preatching about #ENDVIOLENCE, at the same time just ain't it.

Karmys on twitter have gotten involved as well, cus the keywords about fansites going to rest mode (like mighty_j) trended on Daum (4 keywords trended, if I'm not mistaken). But the OP is getting hate left & right, being called with racial slurs and people in general talk in circles not getting the point.

But what is the point?

This issue will not go away unless army as a fandom talks about it maturely without mobbing people, but I guess this is wishful thinking. I just hope our fandom won't get too fractured & polarised. Cus a hurt sheep is easy for the wolf to track down. We need to be strong within the fandom. We do need karmys (not breaking bridges), we do need fansites (and not bully the old, big ones who have helped this fandom grow), but how do we resolve the issue that mainly US armys have with the concerts? Cus this wont go anywhere.

I tried to be as “neutral” as I could, but obviously I wrote this post cus I'm not happy how things are going with the army twitter mob mentality and I do have opinions.

Reverse Idol (Yoongi)

This post is my thousandth post!!! I think that’s just really really cool a thousand posts is a l o t but now it is time for the first half of the Daegu line, one half of sope, my highkey spirit animal who looked s o fucking good in the MV he was looking super cute and super nice and his rap was amazing as always, Min Yoongi aka Suga aka Agust D

This AU is gonna be about what I think would happen if the reader was the idol and BTS were the fans, you can also think about this like a general celebrity post, I’m gonna be basing this off of kpop idols bc it’s easier for me to write with just one focus instead of being all the over place with it but if you wanted to see this as an actor!reader or a non-kpop singer!reader post, you could easily do that (and of course this is all still gender neutral)

This is gonna involve some photographer!Yoongi (here)

Okay so Yoongi is a more laidback fan but he’s also one of the most supportive fans

So he’s not gonna come to a fansign in head to toe merch but he will be there for every fansign in his town, every concert, he’d have all the albums

He gets the boys into your music slowly but surely

Like he starts off with the most popular song and that gets their interest and then he starts playing the albums when they’re driving around and he’s super casual about it but it’s mainly bc he knows they’ll like it

He tells them about you pre-debut too but he doesn’t have any music to show them then so once he does, he brings it up just as a suggestion like a “hey you might like this song”

He’s the type of fan that knows about you before you debuts like you know how sometimes companies will release lil snippets or videos of their trainees to get people hyped up, that’s where Yoongi finds out about it

He keeps an eye out for any news and when he has free time, he likes to watch those videos bc you seem interesting so he’s curious to see where your music will go bc we all know how much yoon loves music

I have this head canon that Yoongi is one of the most loyal people bc to me, Yoongi has loyalty written all over him like I feel like he’s that friend that will stick by you no matter what (unless that friend does something horrible to him of course) and fanboy!yoongi is no different

Yoongi is a bit calmer with his reactions to performances like with some members in BTS, they’re dancing and bouncing around and going crazy but Yoongi’s just sitting there with a lil smile on his face but you can still tell that he’s really loving it and sometimes he sings along

He’s appreciating the tiny details of the performance most people wouldn’t notice

Also I gotta add this in bc when I was writing Jin’s post, I thought of this and it’s one of my new head canons and I can’t think of fanboy!Yoongi without thinking of this now

We all know Yoongi loves photography, he and Jungkook always have their cameras out when they’re on vacation like I think it was during Bon Voyage (if I remember correctly) he was just out taking a bunch of pictures and he looked like he was really enjoying it

He runs one of your fansites, he’s pretty popular in the fandom bc he’s always got the cutest pictures

The fans aren’t the only ones who recognize him, you know who he is as well, you’ve seen him at plenty of fansigns and events in general and you always see him with his camera so sometimes you don’t even get to see his face until the last few seconds when you’re walking off the stage

But when you do, your breath is officially taken bc he’s so pretty and he’s got that soft black hair and he’s talking to the person next to him so he smile at them and his smile is all gummy and cute and he just looks so niCe and you’re just like o h

And of course your reaction to him doesn’t go unnoticed by the rest of the fans and he’s so ?? about it bc wait what was there something on his face so there are quite a few people that start to ship it bc yoongi was one of the first fansites so he’s obviously gotta like you too to be willing to still be taking photos at events two years later

So you know how some fansites will give presents to their idol, Yoongi’s gifts are always really thoughtful and cute like I think I’ve mentioned it before but I feel like Yoongi’s personal gifts would be a bit more small but s o meaningful

Like there are of course the bigger presents from the fandom itself but Yoongi includes a gift that’s just from him and it’s a bit old-school but it’s super cute, he makes you a lil mix tape and includes a bunch of songs from underground artists, popular artists, all the artists that he really really loves and it’s really sweet

You two finally end up “meeting” face to face at a fan sign bc the fans convince yoon to go up there and get an album signed in person, they promise they’d take pictures for him so he doesn’t miss any moments and he eventually gives in when he sees you waving him over bc by this point, you’re really curious about him

He’s gotten you a mix tape (which you lovED) he’s been with you from day one, he’s always been really polite about everything and he’s supportive so you just wanna say thank you at the very least

Once you hear his voice, you’re gone, your jaw literally drops open bc you’d never heard him speak before and his voice is even nicer than you could’ve ever imagined and you can feel the crush developing as you’re talking to him bc he’s nice both visually and personality wise

You ask him about photography and he tells you it’s his major and that he’s always loved it since he was a lil kid and he’s making you laugh a bunch and he’s just really interesting and you wanna get to know him better

“Why not meet up at my next photo shoot? Maybe you can be the photographer”

“I would love that”
