I always come back to Doctor Who when something horrible has happened in my life and I’m starting to lose my faith in humanity and goodness and all that.

I think it’s because this show was the first time I remember genuinely seeing how gorgeous the universe is.

The way the doctor sees such unspeakable darkness and horrible suffering and they still believe undyingly in the goodness and the light of the universe and its creatures.

Every little thing is worth awing at, even a snowman or a potted plant. Every “monster” is truly beautiful and worthy of attention and understanding. Every individual life is important and beautiful.

I try so hard to see our universe the way the doctor sees theirs. And when that’s hard to do I just find myself back in this show, back listening to the doctor rant about the forever growing and changing universe around them. And it works every time.

“Ready for you.” Is still one of the craziest, most out of pocket lines in the entire whoniverse. Like they spent that whole episode building up the Pandorica prisoner as a goblin, ‘the most feared being in all the cosmos’, some irrational monster that would ‘drop out of the sky and tear town your world’, a ‘nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies.’

They emphasized over and over the fear that went into the box, that even the Doctor and River were concerned about what might get out of there.

And then then we’re talking about him the entire time. He spent the entire episode calling himself a terrifying goblin soaked in blood and horror, and he didn’t even realize it.

And with Rory a mindless plastic drone, Amy surely killed by the Nestene Romans, and River dead any second in the exploding TARDIS, (at least as far as he knew) he had no reason to believe he would ever get out of the Pandorica.

Which would’ve been fucking horrifying. Because not only was it an eternal prison, but as he says later when they’re saving Amy, you can’t even escape it by dying.

It’s still so off putting to look at the Doctor in general, but especially early seasons Eleven with his boyish hair and sweet smile and never ending energy, and remember that he’s still the oncoming storm. That people throughout the universe, more than one even, will turn tail and run at even the mention of his name.

I’m a bit new to Warframe and what time I have spent in the game I haven’t spent a single real dollar or traded with any other players. I was given 475 platinum by the devs in some kind of package or something months ago and I never touched it because I didn’t know what platinum should be used for and I honestly really just prefer grinding for things than buying them.

But I really want Octavia Prime, cuz she’s my favorite Warframe. So I went to the Bazaar to trade for her, and this guy was offering all of her prime parts!! He said he was looking for platinum so I offered 475 because I assumed a Prime Warframe would be expensive right? But this guy goes “what”

And I thought it must have been too low or something, so I said I could throw in some prime parts too if the plat wasn’t enough.

Then the dude goes “no that’s too much bro”

I told him I was super unfamiliar with the currency system in the game and had no idea what the real value of Platinum was.

Turns out he was only expecting like ~150?!?!

He linked me to Warframe.market and recommended I browse there to get an idea of the value of things, and he was just generally super helpful.

This is hands down one of the greatest interactions I’ve ever had in an online game. This guy could’ve easily just been a dick accepted the 475 and and ran, but he corrected me and made sure I was only giving him was the item was worth.

I ended up giving him 175 instead of 150 just because he was so fucking nice, sorta like a tip I guess lmao
