My mom turned 60 and tomorrow she's celebrating her day at home. Today she and I worked like crazy with cleaning and baking and let me tell you:

This was my first and damn last time I'm helping anyone arrange their birthday party. I'm tired, sore and pissed. So much fucking work (and used money) for some people for few hours. It's not worth it.

I'm never gonna celebrate my own big birthdays like this. I'm just happy if I can go out to eat with my sis or future partner and that's it.

And even though they had paid more than twice the production cost, they decided to give the film back to the producers, which is what caused the long delay. Universal and Peele eventually took a particular liking to the film, so much so that they suggested possible editing changes and delayed the release until what they thought would be the right date. It’s as simple as that. In the end, it was all about politics and optics for the streaming giant, especially since India has become the current top growth market for Netflix. Co-Founder Reed Hastings has mentioned that a majority of the service's next 100 million subscribers would most likely come from India.

so ya boi has been super depressed, like clinically, for way longer than usual and it led to me heading down to the local psych urgent care for an evaluation today

During the eval, which was over zoom, the person assessing me asked me if I keep any "gods or ancestral gods" in the house.

I'm thinking "weird question for a psych eval, but okay sure", and I get about two sentences into describing my weird pagan ways before she leans into her screen and says "GUNS. Do you keep any G U N S or have ACCESS TO GUNS in the house."
