Bestfriend Eddie giving you his favorite ring when you have to go out of town.

It’s only for a couple of weeks, but because the boy is so lovesick, he insists that you have a piece of him whoever you go- “think of it as a good luck charm, babe.”

Your cheeks heat under his warm gaze as he practically towers over you, standing so close. You’d miss him dearly- how could you not, but you’d promised him you’d call every night.

Your knees nearly buckle when he throws you a wink and you relent, accepting his offer. “O-okay, Eds,” you stammer, “although I think you should have something of mine, too.”

You remove one of your favorite earrings and place it into his palm, “you can hold onto this,” you grin, “I know you’ll take care of it.” You smile up at him, proudly sporting the ring he’d given to you.

He carefully cradles the diamond before closing his hand and safely tucking it away, giving you a long, bone-crushing hug and a kiss to your crown. “Of course I will, sweetheart.”

Two weeks later when he’s picking you up from the airport, he throws your bags in the van, and all but runs to pull you into him, when you stop him in his tracks.

A familiar glimmering stud shines brightly from his earlobe.

“Eds…did you go and get your ear pierced while I was away?!” You ask, tucking his hair to the side to get a better look.

“Well sort of… I did it myself. Just wanted to be able to take a piece of you with me everywhere, too.”

Just thinking about how linecook!Eddie has Anduril tattooed on his spine and the reader can only see a part of the sword hilt on his neck. You don't know what his tattoo is out of context, but you think about it all the time.

When you finally can't stand the wondering anymore, and you ask him what the tattoo is, he's quick to throw his shirt up over his shoulders to show it off. Your hand juts out, and you have to stop yourself from running your fingers along the ink that runs down, down, down his spine and under the waistband of his jeans.
