I am not shaming the individual wearers. They are beautiful and talented and put on the assigned costume. I am also not shaming the individual costume makers. They make what they are asked to make. Chances are some of these bodices were even made by the same costume makers. I am shaming the decision of going from what reflects on Maria Bjørnson's rich design, to stripped-down, half-assed bodices which sometimes doesn't even seem to be properly fitted to the actress.

OK, so the general audience may not notice. But for example in photos it is quite visible. You can do better. The column to the left is a proof you both CAN and HAVE done better. As it is now some fan replicas looks a lot better than the stage equivalent. I'm not sure that's what you want. Just... up the game goddamnit!

I want to preface this by saying I’ve always felt like Will had a thing for Mike...

That being said, I also feel like I only have myself to blame for clowning it was going to be revealed when the Duffers have always changed the subject by saying, “he’s just a teenager figuring himself out”, and that he’s still “adjusting after a traumatic experience”, and that they’re “not labeling anything”. In fact, I’m pretty sure in one of the interviews they joked about Will “not being interested in anyone right now”, which piggy backed onto the trauma thing. Every time they’re asked about Will’s sexuality, they never directly address it. It’s frustrating because it’s so clear how Will feels but it makes me wonder, you know?

I feel like I should have noticed when in interviews where they were asked about Robin, they actually addressed the fact that she in fact very much only likes girls. They had no problems talking about her sexuality. So, are they ever actually planning to pull the trigger with Byler even though they were flat out being asked about Byler in interviews? It feels like they honestly thought changing the subject would get it through our heads that they’re leaving it open to our own interpretations. That just in case--God forbid--they kill off Will because this started and ended with him as much as with El, no one can call them out for “burying the gays”.

I understand that this is the 80′s and homophobia was a huge problem, but it just hurts that it feels like they know exactly what they were doing with the narrative to garner views, but that they really don’t want to actually say it’s going there. I have never thought that anything would happen between the two because they are very set on Mileven (which is made even more obvious this volume), and because again, the homophobia and all of that, but I at least expected Will to admit his feelings to SOMEONE. Never mind, I guess.

what word used to describe a minority sexuality or gender is not currently, at least some of the time, used as a slur?

yknow how using "gay" as an insult used to be the norm (and still is in some places)? the word lesbian being carefully whispered in 2000s sitcoms? have you ever heard a transphobe say the word "transgender" in a way that doesn't sound derogatory? did you ever get called an "acey" on 2018 tumblr?

some people are always going to use our words like slurs. we're the only ones who can make them not slurs. if you're going to argue that "queer is still a slur," you better be including every other fucking label we've come up with because guess who will, regardless of your thoughts on the matter?

in the end, saying "queer is still a slur" is a moot point. it doesn't matter. I get to use the words I want to describe myself, and if I want "faggot" or "queer" or whatever other word on a t-shirt and target happens to be the company that does it (paying queer artists to make it), so be it. rainbow capitalism means we're winning a battle. none of this discourse bullshit matters when trans people are literally being pulled off fucking hormones right now
