The Patreon/Kofi demo has been updated!
What's new?
More of chapter 5! (it's a big one)
Elaine's POV. Note that it doesn't come up where the demo last left off; it takes place right after the magic lesson scene and before bumping into Elaine in the inner courtyard.
Play wingman!
Greet the guests! So far, the only guest you're actually greeting is Elewen. But Arthur, Guinevere, Merlin and the others are on their way! How does Mordred feel in anticipation of finally meeting the Royal Sorcerer? 👀
And also, edits, edits edits!
One of them is very relevant in order to get the right text/choices during a little convo you can have with Elaine while waiting for the guests to arrive.
Added a new variable in Mordred's chamber scene with Elaine; it keeps track of your romantic status with her, so it's very important to replay through it again, otherwise you'll receive her platonic scenes
I think it mentioned in a previous update that Mordred also keeps in touch with Guinevere if they're close to Arthur. In chapter 4, we find that Guin regrets missing Mordred's birthday party due to a spell of illness. Additionally, Guinevere knows about Arthur being their father, the prophecy and everything else. This info has been added in chapter 3, where Guin is mentioned alongside Kay in Arthur's POV. And if you choose to spend time with Arthur by the river, either to bond or find out more about your Pendragon powers, Mordred gets a chance to ask him if Guinevere knows.
Some changes to dragon lore I teased a while ago. It's kind of a long rant, so I'll be going into it in a different post. (you can also find details on the update post on Patreon/Kofi)
Hope you enjoy the update!

Ugh, why isn't this coffee kicking in, you thought to yourself while you sat at your desk attempting to proofread several articles for the Thursday digital edition of the paper later that morning. I've read this same sentence no less than 5 times.
You shook your head, trying to clear it. The unusual quiet in the normally bustling office definitely wasn't helping your sleepiness. Maybe some stronger coffee will help.
You stood up and walked towards the break room.  Skyler had brought a bag of espresso roast coffee in the previous week and you were pretty sure there was some still left.
You paused as you spotted Ellison at the Keurig. "Copier's on the fritz again," you said, walking over towards the cabinet that held the coffee mugs. "Thought you should know."
Ellison nodded as he waited for his coffee to finish. "Hopefully there'll be enough money in the budget to replace it next year. Damn thing's probably older than I am."
He looked over at you and squinted. "No offense, but you look like shit."
You huffed out a laugh. "Gee thanks, Mitch. You sure know how to make a girl feel special."
"Rough night?"
You shook your head. "Just tired. I only slept about an hour last night."
Ellison studied you for a moment. "Look, why don't you take the rest of the day off? Go home and get some rest."
You opened your mouth to protest, then thought better of it. You were still exhausted and a nap honestly sounded wonderful at the moment. "Are you sure?" you asked instead. "I was just going to get some more coffee and try to power through the rest of the day."
Ellison nodded. "Absolutely. It's been a slow news day, and besides, you've been working your ass off lately and deserve a break."
You smiled. "Okay. Thanks, I appreciate it."
Ellison shrugged. "Eh, don't get all sappy on me. I just don't want you burning out on me, otherwise who else would tell me if my editorial column sucks or not?"
You grinned. "Oh I'm sure people would be lining up for that privilege."
Ellison chuckled. "Seriously, go get some rest."
You nodded. "I will. Thanks, Mitch. Really. I'll see you tomorrow."
You walked back out to your desk and gathered your things, then stopped by Skyler's desk. "Ellison gave me the rest of the day off, so I'm heading home. I'll see you tomorrow, 'kay?"
Skyler nodded. "Okay. Get some rest."
As you headed down to the first floor and out the door, you considered stopping by Daredevil on your way home so you could apologize to Matt in person.
You headed towards your apartment building, sighing happily when you finally walked in the door.
You shook your head. You were so tired that you honestly weren't even sure if you could come up with a coherent apology. I'll talk to him after my article is turned in.
You peeked in your pantry and refrigerator, wrinkling your nose at the paltry options you had for dinner that evening. Instead of a choice between boxed pasta, instant ramen, or leftover Chinese takeout you wished you had Matt's spaghetti carbonara, pesto-parmesan linguine, and tiramisu. Maybe I could order something for delivery later, try something else on the menu.
You headed into your bedroom, changing into something more comfortable before climbing into bed.
Your mind drifted to your article. You really didn't want to have to replay the last few minutes of the blind tasting yet again, but you needed to add a bit about it at the end so you could give it a quick read-through then send it to Ellison.
You sighed. You were a professional, dammit, and no matter your feelings, you were going to write a damn good article about Matt… Even if you never spoke to him again after it was all over.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable last night… No, take responsibility for your actions, Matthew.
I'm sorry for trying to kiss you last night… Actually, no, I'm really not.
I apologize for my behavior last night. I must have misread the situation and… Ugh.
Matt sighed as he rode the elevator up to the Bulletin offices, wishing he would have had time to make a fresh tiramisu for you.
He stepped off the elevator, unable to detect your now-familiar heartbeat among those of the rest of the Bulletin staff.
"Can I help you?" said a woman's voice to his left.
"Uh, yeah." Matt turned towards her and asked to speak to you.
"She's not here."
Matt sighed. Damn it. He probably wouldn't have time to come back later and based on what Foggy had said about you looking miserable he wasn't sure if you would be willing to come by the restaurant either. "Do you know when she'll be back?"
"Actually ," the woman continued, "she's out on assignment for the rest of the day. You know those investigative types, always looking for their next big scoop."
Matt furrowed his brow. That had been the exact opposite of the type of stories you had told him you were interested in writing. "I thought she was in Features."
"Oh, yeah, she is, but she really wants to be an investigative journalist, you know, digging up the dirt on people, finding out their deepest, darkest secrets and publishing them for the world to see." The woman paused. "Nothing nor no one is going to stand in the way of her and a good exposé… even if she has to make one up."
She made a dismissive sound. "Anyway, would you like to leave a message for her? I'll make sure that she gets it."
Matt shook his head. "Oh, uh, no, that's okay. I'll… catch up with her another time. Thank you."
"Sure thing. Have a nice day!"
Matt walked back to the elevator then headed down to the first floor. He had thought that he was getting to know you, but after that surprise revelation from your coworker he wasn't so sure.
He shook his head. Could you have been lying to him this whole time?

Game night
Request from ao3!
After season 2. Lloyd invites ninja, Sensei wu and Garmadon and misako to the Game night. As he could have expected, complete chaos ensued.
"And so," Lloyd joyfully said as he sat down.
"I thought this would be a great idea." Lloyd said and looked at his parents, uncle, and ninjas.
"You think?" Sensei Garmadon skeptically interjected. "Gathering them all at my monastery..."
he began, but Misako nudged him with her elbow to stop.
"The ninjas will of course behave nicely," Sensei Wu said, looking at Kai and Jay who were arguing.
"Of course," Kai agreed. "When don't we?"
"Almost every time," Nya remarked.
"Alright, people, calm down," Lloyd tried to calm the situation. "I thought we were going to have a game night."
"But you already said that," Zane was confused.
"He repeats to remind us., buddy," Cole said to Zane, and then looked at Kai and Jay. "To remind us why we're here."
"What did you think we were going to play?" Misako asked Lloyd.
"I thought we would start with Monopoly."
"I hate Monopoly," Garmadon whispered. "This is too much for me, I'm leaving."
"No, you're not leaving," Misako said, pulling him by the hand.
"Then we better get started." Zane said, adjusting himself.
"Wait a minute," Jay said, sternly looking at Zane. "This isn't fair."
"What's not fair now, Jay?" Kai sighed.
"Just a moment," Cole said. "You know I like you, Zane, but nevertheless Monopoly is a game of strategy and entrepreneurship..."
"And Zane is a robot," Nya finished. "Can we just play something else?"
"Sure," Lloyd nervously smiled. Things were not going according to plan.
"Does anyone have a problem with Uno cards?" Lloyd asked tensely.
"Oh, me, me, me!" Jay raised his hand.
"Yes, Jay," Sensei Wu called out grumpily.
"When I was little," Jay began, "I almost choked on Uno cards."
"Excuse me!?" Kai was taken aback.
"How can you choke on Uno cards?" Garmadon curiously asked.
"It's neither the time nor the place," Nya calmed the situation and breathed out. "Let's just get on with it."
After that, Lloyd dealt cards to everyone and the game began.
They played a whole round when suddenly...
"There!" Cole joyfully jumped. "I won."
They all looked confusedly at the stack of cards in his hands.
"Cole, the goal is not to have any cards left," the Misako was first to speak , causing Cole's face to fall.
Soon they all started laughing.
"Maybe we could have explained the rules beforehand," Zane said.
"That doesn't change the fact that I won, does it?" Jay asked.
"Of course it does," Kai interjected. "I demand a rematch, as not all players present were aware of the game rules."
"No!" Jay stood up angrily. "You're saying that just because I beat you by one."
"Enough!" Nya intervened. "We're replaying the game, someone explain the rules to Cole..."
"No..." Jay protested again.
"I'm hungry ," Cole muttered.
"Kai! Jay!" Master Wu shouted. "Stop immediately!"
"I'll hit you with curtains," Kai yelled at Jay.
"Don't touch the curtains!" Sensei Garmadon stood up forcefully.
"Let's just continue!" Misako shouted.
"Oh God," Lloyd sighed, but he couldn't help but smile as everyone mostly calmly returned to their seats.
This is what he wanted, he reminded himself.

help me sleep?
characters~ toman founders
genre~ fluff, comfort
tw~ usage of cuss words and established relationship in mitsuya's and kazutora's part. draken's a bit ambiguous because it is up for your interpretation. sorry for any typos, i'll edit them soon.
a/n~ i'm depressed so i can't write but here's something till i get back to writing. i'll prolly vanish again
Tumblr media
☁️mikey
mikey was busy reading a manga when you plopped down next to him on the sofa.
you didn't say anything for a few minutes and he kept reading on, thinking nothing of it. now what you were going to ask could be interpreted as absurd or even illogical by him so you were a bit hesitant to approach him about this.
he was your best friend though. time and time again he has offered to help you and stated that you could always come to him if you needed any help. he wouldn't judge you, right?
"hey mikey..." you began.
"hmm?"
"so... i have been having trouble falling asleep lately,"
"oh, why?"
"i don't know about that but uhm, i kind of wanted to ask for a small favor." you said before quickly adding. "only if you are okay with it, of course. no pressure."
leaving his manga aside, he shifted his position and was now completely facing you. "what is it, y/n?"
"could you keep talking while i try to sleep? just talk about anything in general, i don't really care but don't stop till you think i have fallen asleep."
mikey stared at you for a couple of seconds, just blinking before asking, "you want me to keep talking while you try to sleep?"
you nodded.
"but wouldn't that be distracting?"
"no actually. your voice..." you cleared your throat. "your voice is very soothing. and it helps me calm down. whenever you're talking, i feel at ease. i have noticed it quite a few times. i don't wanna resort to pills so i thought of asking you first."
slowly, very slowly pretty pink started creeping up his round cheeks. his eyes softened and he clicked his tongue in hopes of hiding the blushing smile threatening to show his real emotions. so he turned away from your observing gaze, suddenly feeling overwhelmed.
"is that so, hun..." he got off the sofa and sat at the carpet now. "here-" he placed a cushion. "lay down and get comfortable, kay? i'll- do you need a blanket?"
"nah i am fine." you got conformable and he nodded in response. "it's too hot, can you switch on the a/c though?"
"cool, shall we start?" you gave him an affirmative nod but he looked a little confused.
"what is it?" you questioned.
"uh, what should i talk about?"
"anything mikey, really. talk to me like you normally do, it would definitely work. you have a pretty voice."
a cough was let out by the blond to cover up his smile. boy was his heart racing. he was on cloud nine today.
and he began. talking about his shenanigans with the founders since his early childhood, and he didn't even realise how invested he got in the stories, replaying it all in front of you so happily, that he forgot what he actually was supposed to be doing this for.
"and then you know what hap-" his charcoal black eyes, usually devoid of emotions darted towards you.
you slept like a little baby. with one arm under your head and one on the pillow, you were curled up. your breathing was slow and light. your body moved up and down gently due to your shallow breathing. and he noticed then how there was a small smile adorning your face.
"beautiful..." was all he could say and he never realised when his thoughts slipped past his lips. well good for him, you were in a very deep sleep to hear his words.
he spent the next five minutes staring at your pretty sleeping form before releasing how creepy it was to stare at someone who's sleeping so he scrambled to get a hold of that manga he was reading.
"oi Mikey-" draken opened the door, rather harshly.
"shhh!" mikey glared at his best friend with a finger to his lips.
"wha-"
"y/n is sleeping. don't make so much noise." he whisper-yelled.
"oh, sorry." draken mumbled before pointing at the watermelon in his hands, effectively delivering the question to which the 5'3 nodded excitedly.
tip-toe-ing to the dining table, behind the living room he made a beeline towards the watermelon. "we'll save some for them too. remind me to give them, soon as they wake up."
Tumblr media
☁️draken
"draken, are you busy right now?" you asked as you closed the door to the room you just entered.
The aforementioned person looked up and smiled. "oh hey y/n. no i am not, what's up?"
"i... uh... i kind of wanted to ask for a favor if that's alright with you."
"favor you say. let's hear it."
"yes, so uh lately i have been having some trouble falling asleep. don't ask why because i myself don't know but it's annoying to say the least. it leaves me all tired and exhausted the next day. pills are a stronger option, so i wanted to ask if you could help me a little."
"me?" he frowned. "how can i help in this?"
"well you know when I used to be a kid, i used to lay in my mom's lap and she would gently pat my ear. the sound of the rotating fan and then the muffled sound as soon as she would cover the ear canal, would always lull me to sleep. you can say it's one of my favourite sounds."
draken nodded, getting the message. "but are you sure you are comfortable with laying on my lap?"
turning to him, you flashed him a genuine smile. "i trust you draken and i feel safe when you are around. that's why i came to you instead of anyone else."
place a stethoscope against his chest and hear how crazy his heart started beating. had he not have mastered the art of always showing a grumpy face since his childhood, it would have been painfully obvious he was blushing.
draken knows he looks intimidating and his image as a gang member, doesn't help him much. but to think you feel safe with him so much so that you are willing to be vulnerable in his vicinity as well as asking him to help you, made him so very happy, you have no idea.
"sure, you wanna try it right now?" the sun was setting, casting an orange-ish glow to the room. with the cool atmosphere and comfortable lighting, this was the perfect opportunity for an afternoon/evening nap.
"i mean if it's okay with you then yes please. i am exhausted." you emphasised. one look at your dark circles and he didn't question further.
nodding his head, he patted his lap. draken was a large man, standing at 6'1 and bulky so it wasn't a surprise that his lap felt more like a warm pillow. a smile immediately crept up your face. it felt oh-so comfortable, plus he was warm.
he started gently, slowly. trying and testing. his eyes not leaving your face for even a second, he was trying to decipher what worked best based on your expressions. you took in a deep breath and let out a heavy sigh. peace.
later he realised it had been quite some time and your breathing had started decreasing until it was shallow. you looked so peaceful. like someone finally at rest after a long day of work.
he just couldn't help but smile, a big one. a happy one. having you so close to him, resting as the sun went down and sleeping on his lap made him let out a happy chuckle. he pushed aside some hair that had covered your face due to the light breeze coming in from the open shoji doors.
you looked so soft and pretty. he wanted to kiss your face right then and there. but for now, he layed back, against the back rest and went deep into the slumber land.
this was nice.
Tumblr media
☁️kazutora
"kazu?" you called.
"yeah?" he replied.
it was a very pleasant weather today. the sky was clear with a few clouds floating above. cool breeze touched your skin, your hair, which were spread in all their glory - or not if they are very short - on the grass, ruffling slightly as you both laid on the soft, green grass staring up at the sky. it was kazu's idea to go to the hills and spend some alone, peaceful time, away from the hustling and bustling city life.
you couldn't deny. how could you? you often found yourself giving into whatever kazutora has to offer - it's always good though - it's kinda hard to say no to this cutie. he is just so adorable with his big golden eyes and cute puffy cheeks and awefully adorable laugh. you are just so mesmerized by him. but he doesn't need to know that, he would surely take it's disadvantage.
though you love everything about him, his voice - especially when he sings or even hums a tune - brings tranquility and solace to your often anxious mind. his voice is definitely your favourite thing about him. he brings peace and calmness like no other. ironic for someone with a not-so peaceful and calming past. but that's his beauty.
in all honesty all the credit goes to him, for his non-stop, determined efforts and his wonderful therapist. these two are doing amazing these past few years and bringing great results too. you are glad to have been able to witness his journey and outcomes alike. you are so very proud of him.
you turned from looking at the sky to his pretty face. cute.
"love, can you sing for me please?"
"hun?" you caught him off-gaurd. despite your love for his voice, you don't usually ask him to sing. wanting to save it for only special moments. "why all of a sudden?"
"i have been having trouble sleeping these past few weeks. i thought i'll just suck it up till i finally get back on track but this problem only seems to get worse." you let out an exhausted sigh. "so i thought maybe if your singing or even humming a tune could get me a wink of sleep, i'll be a happy human."
he let out a laugh, "you should have told me sooner, pretty." he traced his fingers on the outline of your face, taking in how gorgeous you looked to him before sinking his face and placing a feathery kiss to your lips. "sure."
and then he began, singing lyrics to a song you both loved. pushing his shoulder down, you moved to lay your head on his chest, wrapping your arms around his upper torso. he continued singing and his hands continued rubbing your sides.
you don't know when you fell asleep but you bet it was one of the best sleeps you had. being with him was heaven on earth.
Tumblr media
☁️baji
people often questioned baji about what was the secret to his beautiful hair? what products does he use? what fruits does he eat?
and he always responded with, "it's natural dude. all i do is oil them."
that never seemed to satisfy the interrogators because seriously? that's all it takes? they are sure he uses some secret shampoo he isn't letting them in on.
and they are right. baji has got lusciously long and thick hair. shining black with silkiness of satin itself. your fingers would slip right through the strands of his hair despite them being slightly wavy. they are not straight.
now perks of being baji's best friend is that you spend majority of your day in his house. no really because if somebody needs to contact you, the first place anyone would recommend would be the baji household. none of the bajis minded though, courtesy to you being both of them's absolute favourite.
and that is how you find yourself, sitting cross-legged on the floor between baji's legs with your head mercy to his long, slender fingers. behind you, baji was sitting on a stool whereas his mother sat on a chair with longer legs. baji sitting in between his mother's legs with his head, mercy to mrs. baji.
this is called champi in hindi. an intense massaging of the scalp with essential oils, used to strengthen and nourish the roots. while it does help in getting longer, smoother, thicker hair, it also makes people very very sleepy. i mean it is used to help relieve stress after all. and to top it all off, mrs. baji has made you both a glass of butter milk.
your head lolls in his hands and he smacks you, shouting at you to stop moving so much. but you let out an annoyed hiss because it feels so good. if you could, you would spend your entirety of your life like this. it feels as if the source of the sound is faraway but you make it out to be mrs. baji.
"they must be tired, kei. you know how it helps you sleep, right? massage the sides with your thumbs gently- yeah just like that and the bring the thumbs to rub circles on the forehead. it would help them relax. good, now-"
ten minutes later and mrs. baji is resting her head against the wall, with keisuke's head planted on her left thigh and you clinging to her son's left thigh, fast asleep.
the cooler made little rumbling noise in the background and for once, all was quite in the baji household during the day. you all definitely have to do this more often!
Tumblr media
☁️mitsuya
your boyfriend and you had decided to spend the night together at his house. the plan was to put his sisters to bed by ten and then you two would do whatever the fuck you wanted all night. discussions reached from baking to trying a new ramen recipe to watching anime or some movies to bringing books for each other and reading in silence with each other's company and the list went on. a perfect plan, right?
wrong. had you known mitsuya was a genius at putting people to sleep - both temporarily and permanently, your boyfriend can fight - you wouldn't have agreed to this.
here you were laying down next to luna as mitsuya held mana in his arms, all four of you clumped up in a bed made for two, with limbs entangled because apart from the lilac haired, none of you held enough consciousness to move aside. too sleepy to even register about whatever the fuck he was reading from a children's book.
luna and mana were understandable, what were you doing, as a grown up person, falling asleep to mitsuya's reading was the question. you were sure, this was some sort of trick on mitsuya's part because knowingly or unknowingly he hit the nail on every single thing that lulled you to sleep!
and just like that you were knocked out, asleep. mitsuya stifled a laugh. in his view was, you in the middle with luna and mana latched on your sides like little koalas. funnily all three of you had lips parted as slight drool dribbled down.
mitsuya was aware of your troubles with falling asleep so he didn't dare wake you up. your night date could wait, you needed to get a good night's sleep first. but not wanting to leave this adorable scene and also wanting to be a part of it, mitsuya muttered a "fuck it" and wrapped his arms around mana's back.
mrs. mitsuya would be sure to click hundreds of pictures tomorrow morning because all four of her children looked so cute and sweet like this.
Tumblr media
☁️haruki hayashida (pah-chin)
"hey, can i talk to you for a minute?" pah looked up at you and grinned.
"yo y/n, wassup?" he excitedly got up and made his way upto you.
mirroring his smile you walked upto him, "no no, wait i'm coming."
squatting down, you pet Pochi's head to which the dog wagged their tail happily. you were one of the few people Pochi actually liked.
"though you're always welcome at my house and i always look forward to when you come but can i ask why are you here right now?" he religiously hoped he didn't come out rude. you were probably the only person after mikey and draken which he actually wanted to impress and actually respected.
"ah," you chuckled nervously, dreading the talk you came here for. "about that."
you stood up, signalling Pochi to walk away. shifting on your feet and eyes swerving left to right you thought upon your words again as if you hadn't prepared a pre-designed monologue because this was embarrassing.
"i wanted some help..."
absolutely elated about the fact that you came upto him for help he asked excitedly. "oh? what is it?"
"well, actually, the thing is..." taking a deep breath you said. "can i sleep in your bed?"
eyes shut close, the embarassment and horror of what you just said started settling in.
who the fuck says that?!
"...come again?"
a groan, "look, remember the time when our parents went out for dinner together and we decided to have a movie night? but i fell asleep so you brought me to your bed? well i have never slept like i did that night. it was fucking amazing. and the problem is, i can't seem to fall asleep as of late. i have no idea why but i desperately need it. so please can i sleep in your bed?"
there was silence in the big room. pin drop silence. deafening silence.
"...okay." he nodded. "i mean if it helps you then uh sure."
you tilted your head, confused because pah's face looked seconds away from exploding. he was bright red.
"are you sure?"
"y-yeah." he replied. "do you wanna go to my room right now?"
and that's how you ended up in his bed, tugged inside the comforter on a soft satin pillow.
"right... so uh i'll be leaving then-"
"no wait! uhm can you... like... stay here?" you didn't dare look at him. "please?"
fumes were escaping his nostrils and ears. his eyes were wide and lips tugged inside by his teeth. oh how much he struggled with breathing and not showing what a mess he was, only he and God knew.
but he was delighted. he was bursting with happiness inside. every cell in his body was doing their own dance.
what a blessing... he sighed.
"okay." he nodded. he can never say no to you, can he?

Now Playing: Falling In Love
[Lucifer – Strange]
Pairing: Lucifer x GN!Reader
Genre: Fluff, pining
Summary: You were a strange one, and that baffled him. Yet at the same time, he can't help but be enamored with you.
A/N: The first installment of Now Playing: Falling in Love series starting with the eldest demon brother and the love of my life hehe... (No favoritism were intended okay?)
The song I chose for this fic is "Dear" by Ben&Ben
The first time I heard this song, he came to mind. I don't know why but I just thought of him. It does suit him though in my opinion.
And yes, this is part of my Soft Lucifer agenda, and yes, this is a rewriting of that lesson chapter where MC made the pact with Lucifer. I felt that something was missing from it. And this is the result :D (I am squealing as I write this lmao). And yes, he asks for your consent this time because consent is sexy.
Anyways, I hope you guys would enjoy reading this! <3
Now Playing: Falling in Love playlist
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
"Only the two of us can understand
The sureness of our love
I promise you that I will hold your hand
No matter what may come
Within the beautiful and captivating
Strangeness of our love
I found a sense of peace and clarity
That I had once dreamed of
My dear."
"I have a question."
He sighed. You've been asking a lot of questions lately. Ever the curious one.
"I had a feeling you would still ask even if I told you no, so just go ahead and ask."
"I've been curious about this for a while now, but how did you fall in love with me? And when?"
The sound of writing halted. Yet another strange question.
"Where do you get these questions, I wonder?"
"Well, I've thought about it, and... you've never really shown interest in me before. So I was surprised that you accepted my impromptu confession that time."
Your alarm interrupted your explanation.
"...Guess I have to go now. Can't let Luke wait for me," you said as you left a peck on his cheek. "Don't overwork yourself when I'm gone, 'kay?"
"You should go now, lest you want to be late for your appointment with the chihuahua."
"Luke would complain nonstop if he heard you call him that," you spoke as you open the office door.
"Yes, I can imagine that. But it's not like I'm lying."
You shook your head. "I'll be going now. See you later, Lucifer."
"Yes. Do enjoy your time outside with Luke."
He watched as the door to his office closed once more. Moments after he resumed his halted paperwork, his mind replayed your question.
"When, huh?"
He wonders.
.
.
.
He found you strange. You were teleported from the human world to the Devildom, yet the glimmer in your eyes was unmistakable. You actually found your predicament interesting, like a kid seeing a brand new toy on sale.
A bushy-tailed fool amongst demons that has the ability and will kill you without batting an eye. He mused. Would you be able to survive your year in this realm?
To his surprise, you had adapted well to your new environment. Sure, Mammon and his younger brothers had something to do with it, but it was still an incredible feat for a human with no experience with supernatural stuff before the exchange program.
However, he was also suspicious of how you seemed to enchant his younger brothers so much so that they were willing to tie themselves down with a pact.
So he observed you.
But the more he watched from afar, the more he found himself falling for your charms.
It was ridiculous for him to fall for a human, he thought. And it was more ridiculous to fall for a human so stubborn as a mule.
He tried to reason with himself. It was stupid. It was...
But demons were creatures unable to resist temptation for long. And so, like Newton's apple, he fell. He fell for the human who had caused him several headaches. He fell for those fiery eyes that showed no fear in front of him. He fell for your personality which he once found oh-so annoying. He fell for your smile. He fell for your kindness and warmth. He fell for your strength and determination. He fell for your strangeness. He fell for you.
How strange indeed.
.
.
.
Several months had passed. The sparks you had ignited in his heart have now become a raging flame. Yet he couldn't bring himself to confess to you. Not when he treated you coarsely before.
He wants to make it up to you.
And so, he began to show his affection in little ways. He helped you with your homework. He helped you with your tasks. He gave you little tokens that reminded him of you as a gift. And it made you smile, and his heart fluttered at the sight of it.
But he wondered. If he told you what he felt, would you accept it?
The uncertainty tortured him. Especially when he knew that he had rivals who also yearned for your heart.
He wished that he had answers.
And answers, he received.
When you confessed in the spur of the moment, he felt his heart leap from his chest. He didn't care if you meant it or not.
"I- I, too, feel the same. I love you, MC. With all my heart."
Ah, he had finally said it.
Tender obsidian and ruby eyes met yours as he cups your face.
"...May I kiss you?"
You nodded slowly in reply.
And with that, the distance between you was closed. Your lips were like what he imagined and more. Soft, sweet, and warm.
And at that moment, he felt pure tranquility and adoration well up within him.
He does not know how or when he fell in love with you. But he does know that he would give anything just to have even a sliver of your time and affection.
You were strange, and that baffled him. Yet that same strangeness had brought him immeasurable bliss he never knew he could have.

tell me we weren't just friends? || robby keene
Tumblr media
masterlist!!
summary: getting with the one person robby didn't like would surely cause an argument, and it did, but the words he would say would never be one's you'd expect.
parings: semi you and hawk, semi you and robby (it's confusing)
warnings: angst, robby with such teenage girl feelings, takes place beginning of season 4 when hawk leaves cobra kai, fighting, very laurie and jo coded
wc: 941
a/n: i hate this and i wish i never finished this but wtv 😍😍
robby hardly ever used instagram. he never knew why he felt so drawn to use it that morning. he could never grasp how a stupid app could ruin your life. the only thing he could comprehend was the fact the girl he had been in love with since he was working for daniel larusso, was dating his enemy.
he had opened instagram that morning, something he never really did. he never used it partially because he found it a waste of time and partially because he spent all of his time at the dojo. he paused when he saw y/n had posted on her story. he always enjoyed seeing what she had to say. he admired how she could say whatever was on her mind and feel comfortable about it.
his face dropped when he saw her and a certain red haired guy. he wouldn't have minded it that much if her lips weren't pressed on his cheek. he felt upset, angry even. but worst of all, he couldn't help but still love her.
he made sure to get as much anger out as he could while at practice. "jeez, keene. what's got you so worked up?" tory watched as he aggressively punched and kicked the practice boards she was holding. robby stepped back, wiping the sweat off of his forehead. "it's stupid." tory set the boards down gently. "i'll listen, dude. i'm sure it's not stupid."
robby took a deep breath. "that fucking traitors dating y/n now." tory's face dropped. she knew robby had been in love with her for a while. "that explains a lot." tory scoffed. robby furrowed his eyebrows, obviously confused by what she meant. "first, y/n stops showing up to practice, then when we see her at the mall she completely avoids us." tory threw her hands down.
robby nodded his head, agreeing with her. "keene, nichols. get back to work." kreese yelled from the back office. tory picked the boards back up, letting robby continue to punch and kick at them. "you down to go to stingray's after?" tory asked him. robby shrugged his shoulders. "could be fun." he agreed to go, as long as y/n wasn't invited, not like she would show anyways.
"i just don't get what she sees in him." robby replayed y/n's story where her and hawk were kissing. "dude, you just gotta move on. y/n was a bitch anyways." kyler took a handful of popcorn, shoving it in his mouth. robby shook his head. "maybe you should just talk to her?" tory suggested, sitting on the edge of the couch. robby thought about it. that wasn't a bad idea. he opened his messages with y/n.
----------------------------
keene 🕺
y/n. i need to talk to u.
can u please meet me
at the dojo in 5?
n/n 🎀
ig. omw.
----------------------------
robby sighed. "i gotta go." he stood up quickly, searching the counter for tory's keys. "good luck, keene." tory took his spot on the couch. robby nodded, walking out the door and towards tory's car. he was practically speeding towards the dojo. he didn't have time to think about what he would say. he just needed to tell her.
y/n was already standing outside of the dojo. she looked impatient and unimpressed by his sudden need to see her. "y/n." robby's face lit up when he got out of his car. he closed the car door, walking towards her. "make it quick, keene." y/n crossed her arms over her chest.
robby took a deep breath. "why are you with him?" he looked down at his feet. y/n scoffed. "is this seriously what you wanted to talk about? me being with hawk?" robby's face hardened a little. "yeah. it is. i mean, you hated him not even a month ago?" robby used the same tone she had used with him.
y/n rolled her eyes at him. "he's changed." it was her turn to pause. "robby, tell me the truth. why are you so mad at me dating hawk?" robby swallowed hard, pushing the lump in his throat away. it was all about to come up, and he wouldn't stop it. "y/n, i've loved you for so long now. i thought you knew." robby raised his voice.
y/n blinked her eyes for a second. "how the fuck was i supposed to know, robby? you never told me." she yelled back at him. "be real for a second, y/n. how did you not fucking know? friends don't act like that." robby was yelling at this point. he felt like he was at an all time low. he saw his dad in him and that broke him. tears stung at his eyes.
y/n took a breath, trying to calm down. "robby, i had no idea you even liked me, let alone loved me." "love." robby muttered. y/n looked at him confused. "what did you say?" robby let a tear roll down his cheek. "love. you said loved. i still love you. i could never love anyone else." he wiped the one tear he let fall from his eye.
robby walked towards tory's car despite y/n's yells for him to wait. he couldn't stand to see her. he wanted anything but to be in love with her. she was too good for him and he knew it. he reversed tory's car, driving back to kyler's. y/n didn't know why she started crying, but she did. this entire time he loved her back?
----------------------------
n/n 🎀
i ended things with hawk.
i love you, i'm sorry.

all too well. | KAY/O , Sova
kay/o's memories feel as fresh as though they only happened yesterday.
cw: a little bit of angst, a little graphic? not proofread
wc: hello long wtf why did i write this??
a.n: the effect of listening to all too well 10-minute version for hours straight. amma try to mimic how memory works on this one e.e– we all know that kay/o is from another timeline right? and we know about the radiant war right? right, okay. this one's long too bc of some lore so uh, enjoy!
previous : next
Tumblr media
YOU walked through the doors of battle with him, headstrong with a brave heart that never stopped beating even until the end. Your prowess was something to be marvelled at especially in your radiance.
The short blue scarf tied on your bicep– the symbol of your allegiance to the people, yet a sign of treachery to your fellow radiants. Gaining the title of hope and traitor at the same time.
The only radiant fighting alongside humans.
"I am programmed to kill you, don't give me a reason to comply," KAY/O warned menacingly as he towered over your form, though you stood unwavering and even flashed him a gentle smile.
"It's nice to meet you, KAY/O. I hope we get along well."
If the robot could frown, he absolutely would be right now.
A radiant fighting alongside with humanity?
Now that's something KAY/O thought would be one of the most impossible scenarios to happen, and yet, here you are.
He and Brimstone even had an argument prior to your introduction. He just couldn't understand why his partner– his best friend, would trust someone like you– a radiant, to fight alongside them.
Could you believe it? A radiant? Literally the enemy?
To his dismay, he had no choice but to trust in his friend's judgement. To KAY/O, you were a ticking time bomb that could go off any moment and betray them as well. You betrayed your own kind, who's to say you wouldn't do the same thing to them? Just the littlest wrong move from you, KAY/O will gladly wipe you off from existence.
"KAY/O, I'm not doing anything shady," The robot flinched from his hiding spot behind a wall.
"Yes, I can see you from the glass window."
He lets out a grunt, standing up from his crouched position, only noticing the window in front of you at that moment.
You turned to him with a small smile, "Come, I'll show you what it says."
"Did your little radiant friends finally contact you." He stated, not as a question. He was hoping this was finally it. "Ready to betray us next?"
He watched as your eyebrows lightly scrunched together as your hand gripped the paper you were holding tight. Purple hyacinths sprouting on your head.
You forced out a weak laugh, "Not today, I'm afraid. Just come."
KAY/O thought for a moment before finally approaching you, noting how your smile widened as he came to your direction.
You quickly showed him the letter's contents.
"This is. . ."
You grinned, "Yeah, I know."
KAY/O took the letter from your hand, reading the words over.
"From the soldiers. . ?"
"They're thank you letters." You chirp, glancing at him and then back to the papers.
Indeed they were, and this was the moment KAY/O had to replay some events at the back of his mind. The people that you had saved and healed, their gratitude was written on these papers.
He then recalled a time when you worked tirelessly overnight just to get all the troops recovered from their injuries, healing them all back to normal in just one night.
Without your help at that time, their troops would've been easily outnumbered by Reyna's force the next day.
"It's a small and sweet gesture but," KAY/O turned to look at your smiling face, though you seem happy because of your expression, even he could tell that you held something else in your eyes.
"It's nice to feel appreciated."
After that encounter, KAY/O lowered his guard around you by around 50%. He realized that he's been too fixated on you being a radiant that he didn't acknowledge how useful and important you were in the battlefield. And though it was hard to admit at first, it is fortunate to have you on their side.
"KAY/O, behind you!"
He hears your voice from a distance and as he turns whilst dealing with the enemy in front of him, the enemy radiant behind his back raised their knife in an attempt to stab him.
Before they could, a thick vine sprouted from the ground, piercing the radiant through and through to their side before dropping the body on the ground. KAY/O pushed the initial enemy's limp body away from him before turning in your direction, your eyes glowing green with your left arm outstretched in his way.
He was about to utter his thanks when he spotted a radiant creeping behind you, their abilities about ti activate . Without skipping a beat, KAY/O threw his knife in your direction,
"Get down!"
Doing as you were told, you ducked and the knife came flying through the radiant's head. Looking over your shoulder, the enemy dropped dead as your area gets suppressed along you with it. The green glow of your eyes fading.
"Thanks!"
There were a lot of times when you could've betrayed them during battle. But you never did it. Even when confronted face to face by the Empress herself, you stood your ground and never faltered.
"What a shame," Reyna feigns a sigh. "You really did side with these insects."
KAY/O took an unfortunate hit from Reyna, and is currently on the floor, body glowing red.
He needed a reset.
You tried to remain calm, KAY/O was just infront of you, you just needed to contain Reyna to reach him.
"You may be right, they are insects." You breathed heavily. "But you're destroying the Earth. You're destroying me."
Reyna lets out a cruel laugh, "To build an empire you must start from scratch! This will be a paradise when this is over."
The empress stretched out her hand, palms open.
"I will give you one last chance." She announced, her eyes shining a bright hue of purple– full of fury, full of power. "Rule with me, Gaia."
"No thanks," You answered firmly. "Your side doesn't have a talking toaster."
With that, you punched the ground– sending waves of the earth in her direction. She used her radiance to quickly move out of the way and you took this chance to raise a high wall of earth.
Throwing yourself to KAY/O's side you quickly did his manual reset. You can already hear the enemy gunning down your wall from the other side.
"Come on, come on, come on!" You chanted as the wall started to crack. Finally, KAY/O rebooted
"Oh thank– Ah!"
Before you could even breathe in relief, you found yourself hauled up over the robot's shoulder.
"What the hell!" You shrieked. "Put me down!"
"Negative. We're going to retreat." KAY/O was getting the fuck out of that place. He just knows that there's a number of radiants on the other side of that wall.
"Yeah I know but please put me down!" You pleaded as your partner continued running, your fist repeatedly banging on his back. "I'm gonna throw up!"
"Swallow it."
"YOU STUPID TOASTER–!"
KAY/O finally trusts you. He genuinely found your abilities fascinating and whenever there's a rare time of free time, he would find himself around you.
"For you to create a creature, you must know it's anatomical structure and genetic code?" KAY/O questioned and you smiled.
"That's right."
"And you could create a new genetic code as well?"
"Yup."
"Huh, interesting." KAY/O held the small plump plant-like creature in front of him. "And that's how this creature came to be."
"Yeah," You patted the creature's leafy head. "I just got this design of him from a video game called Kenshin."
KAY/O instantly went on a search.
"An RPG video game that came out more than one hundre years ago."
You chuckled, "Yeah, it's practically an ancient game at this point."
He was supposed to be deactivated for the day but he found himself coming to your tent. Today's fight took a toll on you, and he couldn't understand why he wanted to see you.
From the beginning, you already knew you would be killing your own kind, so what's the problem now?
"Gaia." His tone was soft as he parted the tent to the side, taking a look inside your quarters. He found you sitting on the edge of your bed, turning to him with a tear-stained face and red eyes.
He felt something inside him. Seeing you like that, there was a feeling deep within his system and he couldn't figure out why or what it was.
"KAY/O. . ." Your voice was weak. "What are you doing here?"
". . . I came to check on you."
You sniffed, wiping your cheeks. "You didn't have to."
Standing up from your bed, you approached him, "I'm sorry, I don't want to see anyone right no–"
You suddenly felt a cool metal hand on your left cheek, making you pause your words.
"This is the first time you didn't greet me with a smile."
You gave him a puzzled look, "What–"
"It's alright." He cuts off again. "You don't have to smile all the time. You can cry, I'll be here for you."
KAY/O felt as though he was possessed by something, it was out of his character to say something like that and yet, those words naturally sounded out from him.
He stayed by your side as you cried, holding onto his arm. He doesn't know any other way to comfort you but he thought that this would suffice. When you eventually cried yourself to sleep, he positioned you gently back to bed before taking a sit on a nearby chair by your bedside.
KAY/O stayed with you all night.
"What happened, how is she??" KAY/O bursted through the tent of the medical ward, hurriedly searching for you.
Brimstone and Sova were the first he saw before finding you laying unconscious on the white bed.
He turned to his two colleagues, "Report."
"We don't know what happened." Brimstone sighed. "We were with her at that time and she covered me from above. But the next thing I know she came falling down and writhing in pain."
Sova stepped in and spoke as well, "We retreated eventually and took her here, but she's suddenly going through some changes."
KAY/O gave Sova a look, "What changes?"
Sova went silent, he and Brim sharing a look before stepping aside and motioning his hand towards your unconscious body. He took a closer look.
Your hands turned completely black up until your wrist. The dark color traced the veins on your arms as well, crawling up to your elbow.
"Mercy please," you huffed. "I can't take it any longer."
"Get up." KAY/O demanded strictly.
"No."
"I will not repeat myself."
"Then don't." You deadpanned, faceplanted on the ground.
The robot sighed. "It's only been 30 minutes. Get up now, Gaia."
You shot him a teasing look, "I thought you said you wouldn't repeat yoursel–"
The killer robot had enough of your delays, he simply picked you up from the ground like you were just a sack of potatoes and hauled you over his shoulder.
"Ah shit, not again." You whined. "Please put me down, I swear I won't run away."
"Ha, good joke." KAY/O continued his way to the training area.
"Please, my arm feels like jelly. Why can't I just use my radiance." You complained. "My aim sucks!"
"Exactly." Finally putting you down, you slowly turned around to see your new friends that you wanted nothing more than to blow them all up.
Aimbots.
"You gotta stop relying too much on your power." KAY/O scolded.
"I hate you so much." You murmured, frowning like an upset child.
KAY/O handed you a Vandal, "Then pretend the bots are me."
For once, KAY/O wanted to be what he really was. A robot. Devoid of emotions, no special connections nor attachments to anyone. Only focusing on duty, and duty alone.
His body felt heavy, with each step he took it felt as though he was walking in quicksand. He wanted to sink into the earth right then and there.
There was a stinging ache in his core, Brimstone's dog tag hung together with his own around his neck. His dear friend lying motionless on his arms.
KAY/O could hear the soft winds whirling as he trudged through the wasteland of a battlefield. And as if the universe hadn't had enough of his misery, just across his path was Sova, and he wasn't alone.
His grip on Brimstone went tight, nearly stumbling on his track before stopping.
'Please.' He thought. 'For once, let me be wrong.'
As Sova neared him, the man's eyes were dull and jaw clenched tight, his lips quivering ever so slightly as he tried to keep a straight face.
His colleague held his head down, shifting his arms slightly.
KAY/O looked at you in Sova's arms. You looked like you were just sleeping peacefully with a small smile on your face.
"I'm sorry. . ." Sova's voice cracked, forcing out his words. Droplets of tears hit your pale face as Sova's knees finally gave out. Kneeling on the cold hard ground, he still held your lifeless frame close.
KAY/O's pain turned into agony as he kneeled as well, setting his best friend's body carefully on the ground. He gazed at Sova mournfully.
He was one of the strongest soldiers he knows, and not once did he ever falter with emotion, but seeing him now– holding you desperately close to his build as he let his heart out for once. Tears ran down his cheeks whilst softly murmuring your name along the words,
"I'm sorry."
- - -
KAY/O finally snapped back to reality, his head flinching slightly as you reached out your hand.
"It's nice to meet you, KAY/O. I hope we get along well."
And there you were again with that same radiant smile that you always wore, the blue scarf around your neck, and the wind gently blowing your hair.
He remembers it all too well.
You glanced at Brimstone as the robot in front of you just stared dead straight at you, not knowing what to do. You were beginning to feel awkward with your hand stuck out in the open.
You thought of retracting your hand slowly. Figuring he might not be a handshake type of person, but before you could, you felt a heavy hand on your head.
"It's nice to see you again, Gaia."
Your eyes widened slightly.
'Again?' You thought as Forget me nots' strangely started to bloom on your head.
'What does that mean?'

When the Party's Over ~ A Kai Parker One Shot
Tumblr media
*not my gif
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you get to spend today and all days ahead filled with joy and peace :)
Pairings: vampire!Reader x Heretic!Kai; ex-boyfriend!ElijahMikaelson x Reader; Damon x Elena; Klaus x Caroline
For the purposes of this story, Klaus and Caroline are a couple living together in Mystic Falls. Kol Mikaelson is still alive, but Finn is not.
This IS a reader insert fic; I just don’t like writing with Y/N in the place of names. Use Rosalie/Rose as a placeholder for Y/N and Wilson for L/N
Requested: No
Word Count: 5,562
Warnings/Callouts: Mentions of breakups/heartbreak, minor angst/darker emotions, scattered mature language, fake-relationship trope, best-friends-to-lovers trope, smut (18+ readers only!), soft!Dom!Kai, Daddy kink, blood sharing, unprotected sex (be responsible and safe!)
I got the idea for this piece while re-reading "I'll Wait." It is technically a sequel but will still be easy to follow/read as a oneshot if you haven't read that one.
Description: What do you do get when you put a bunch of vampires together in a room with a lot of food in November? You get a Mystic Falls Thanksgiving. Be wary of Original exes crashing the party...
Kai’s POV:
The alarm buzzed, and I turned over to shut it off. I’d already been awake for quite some time. The morning sunlight danced on the ceiling as I listened to the sound of Rosalie’s even breathing in her room down the hall. Five months ago, Rosalie drank herself numb and passed out in the Mystic Grill. I brought her to my apartment, and we’d been living together ever since. Her old apartment was one she’d shared with Elijah, and it was too painful for her to live there again. I, out of the goodness of my heart (or, more accurately, my own selfish desires), let her move in with me.
Life was a lot easier now; there were no vengeful siblings, no new villains knocking down our doors. For once, life in Mystic Falls was… normal. Shocker, I know.
What exactly defines normal in a town where every second person you walk by is a supernatural being? Normal is waking up in the morning and not anticipating something horrible will happen. It’s when things are calm, and you can trust the people around you. Strange how normal is the most abnormal for someone like me.
My feet touched the cool wooden planks, and half the blanket followed me up. With a quick snap, the bed was made. Coffee was brewing, and bread was toasting. This was the rhythm we had fallen into. Whoever was awake first took care of breakfast, and the other managed the cleanup after.
I didn’t bother throwing a shirt on. Being roommates came with its unique forms of intimacy, though not in the way I would’ve wanted. Nevertheless, I’d promised myself I’d wait. I’ll wait for her until she’s no longer hurting – when she’s ready to accept how I feel.
Rosalie’s POV:
“Rosalie, I have to leave you,” Elijah spoke solemnly. He had rarely loved in all the centuries he’d been alive, and it was even rarer the love was returned. Unfortunately, something always trumped the pursuit of love: his honor and his family.
If anything in this dream came back in perfect detail, it was the wave of emotions I felt. My mind replayed them night after night. First came the confusion and denial. “What does that mean?” Elijah had answered me, but even now, I don’t remember his words. My ears refused the intake of all sound. The heartbreak had taken over. “We… I am leaving you.” It couldn’t be true. He was my everything. He was my first. He swore he’d never leave me, not for the rest of our immortal lives.
Without warning, something in the scene shifted. Suddenly, it wasn’t Elijah turning my heart to dust. It was Malachai. Within me, I felt a snap. My knees gave out, and I stumbled to the ground just as I had with Elijah. The stream of tears down my cheeks was new.
I had not sobbed this way when Elijah left me. This was a new pain entirely. “Kai, please…” He looked down upon my curled figure on the ground, completely silent. When the hot tears blurred my vision, I could just barely see him walking away, leaving me even more broken than I already was.
When the dream escaped me and consciousness came back, I didn’t want to open my eyes. Though I was awake, my mind was plagued with jarring images of Kai leaving me instead of Elijah. Somehow, though I was only his friend, I believed losing Malachai would hurt so much more.
Shoving my comforter aside, I dragged myself to the bathroom. The lightbulbs flickered on, and I stared at my exhausted expression. When Elijah left me, I felt like I’d been discarded. There was no other word for it. Someone who promised to never walk away left for a reason as flimsy as needing to protect his sister – a thousand-year-old vampire perfectly capable of protecting herself. Klaus and Kol didn’t run off to Rebekah’s side, so Elijah volunteered.
The worst part was the "honorable man" card he got to play. How are you supposed to fault someone for leaving to protect their family? It was all so frustrating. From the kitchen, I heard the coffee maker chime and the bread pop out, a signal that my little pity party needed to end. Gathering up some cold water from the running faucet, I splashed it against my face in the vain hope of getting some color back.
When I walked in, Kai was reaching up to grab plates and mugs. Turning around, he gave me a quick smile in morning greeting. I had to return it, of course. During all this time, Malachai was the one that kept me grounded. He’d been so patient – goofy when I needed a laugh and silent when I needed someone to listen. He was the perfect companion. If he was tired of me, it didn’t show.
Still silent, he handed me my plate, bringing his own over to the couch. I plopped down beside Kai, glancing at him from the corner of my eye. A random Netflix show began playing in the background as we ate. Whether he knew it or not, Malachai brought me a great deal of peace.
I looked at him once more, my heart throbbing painfully as it reminded me of the horrid dream. This time, Kai’s eyes met my own with an unspoken question shining in them. He raised a brow slightly, and I shook my head, attempting to smile. He seemed unconvinced, but he didn’t pry.
Thank god for that. If he had, I would have lied.
Kai's POV, later that afternoon:
“Rosalie, hurry up! According to the manically detailed itinerary Caroline gave us, we were supposed to be at the Mikaelson’s place twenty minutes ago.” Even as I spoke, I pulled the caramel apple pie out of the oven, fanning it to get it to cool some. The whole apartment smelled wonderful, like an autumn day come to life. I closed my eyes, enjoying the scent of apples, cinnamon, and toasted sugar.
When they opened, I met with the sight of Rose slipping into her coat. I couldn’t fight my smirk when I saw her outfit. Without planning it, we were completely coordinated: deep green sweaters, dark wash jeans, and long, flowing black coats. I saw the realization in her eyes and adored the sound of her resulting laugh. “Are you trying to copy me, Malachai?” Letting out an exaggerated sigh, I grinned at her. “Me? I’ve been ready to leave for thirty minutes. If anything, you’re trying to copy my style.”
Wrapping up the pie, I grabbed the car keys, spinning them around my finger. “Don’t worry, though. I pull it off much better than you.” Rosalie rolled her eyes, giving me a playful shove. “Let’s go before Caroline decides to murder us on arrival.”
~
The engine hummed to a stop. The sun had already set, bathing the surrounding land in darkness. When the headlights switched off, Rosalie and I shared a look. I wanted to reach out and touch her silken hair, to let her know she wasn’t alone. I knew tonight would be difficult for her – spending time with Mikaelsons wasn’t her favorite, not with all the memories it brought back –and Rose needed to understand I was there for her. “You can do this. I’m right beside you.” Without giving me any words in response, she reached for my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze of gratitude.
“Let’s go.” We walked to the front door, the dessert in my hands. Rosalie opened the door, thoughtfully left unlocked by the hosts, taking the pie from my hands. Caroline stormed to the foyer, partially receiving her guests as the hostess and also ready to rip us both a new one for messing up her schedule. “Before you say anything Care, you and the house both look lovely.”
Rose gave Caroline a heart-stopping smile and annoyed as she was, her friend had to smile in return. “Alright, alright, just come in.” I helped Rosalie out of her coat, hanging it up on the golden coat hooks before taking care of my own. Everything in this house looked like it was antique and ridiculously expensive. Our matching outfits didn’t escape Caroline’s attention, but she was typing something. Rose’s phone buzzed with a text seconds later.
She read it and froze in her tracks. Caroline took the dessert from her hands and went inside, perhaps to give her a moment. “Rosalie?” Still saying nothing, Rose handed me her phone, letting me read the message myself. ‘I should’ve told you earlier, but Elijah is here.’ I waved a hand, putting a silencing spell on the room so our conversation wouldn’t be heard by anyone else.
“Elijah, like – Elijah?” She nodded, visibly trembling. “Kai, I…” Biting my lip, I took hold of her shoulders, turning her so she’d face me. “What do you want to do? Do you want to get out of here? What do you need? What can I do?” Though she was upset, I couldn’t stop the barrage of questions I threw at her. Rose only shook her head again, which wasn’t enough of a response for me. Thankfully, she spoke without any more questions from me.
“No. We’re here to have a nice Thanksgiving with our friends. He’s here. I suppose it makes sense. He’s Klaus’s brother, after all. Of course, he’s here.” She rambled on. When she looked into my eyes, I could read how conflicted Rose was. My teeth gritted together, and as my hands left her shoulders, they clenched into fists at my side. Being civil with Elijah was going to be an uphill battle, and I hadn’t even set eyes on him yet.
Even so, my anger wasn’t important. Whatever Rosalie needed tonight she would get. “Just… don’t leave my side, Malachai.” I wrapped my arms around her, enveloping her. It didn’t matter if she was just relying on me as her best friend. This hug was for me, the one slip I was allowing myself after months of swallowing emotions back. “I won’t, I promise.”
Pressing a kiss to her forehead, I lifted the silencing spell. Rosalie whispered her quiet thanks, and I didn’t let go of her hand. We just didn’t realize someone was watching.
A man I hadn’t seen before, presumably Elijah, cleared his throat. By instinct, I expected Rose to let go of my hand, but she only held on tighter. Clearing her throat, she walked towards him with me not far behind. “Hello, Elijah.” I was impressed with how she sounded: perfectly composed and unbothered by the man she still had torturous dreams about. “Rosalie. You look good. Happy…”
The word trailed off of Elijah’s lips, hanging in the air between us. “And this is?” She released my hand then, though I could tell she missed the contact as soon as her fingers slipped from mine. Or at least I hoped so. I know I did.
“Malachai Parker, Heretic.” The hand that was in Rose’s met his in greeting. “Elijah Mikaelson.” In stark contrast to hers, Elijah’s hand was ice cold. “You must be her new boyfriend. Congratulations.” The words weren’t spoken with any hint of malice, just resignation. Was it so easy for him to let her go? If it were me and the girl I loved dated was with someone else, I’d be livid. “Elijah, Kai isn–”
“Kai is pleased to meet you.” I smiled at Elijah like he was an old friend, ignoring him once I put my arm around Rose. She caught on very quickly (that’s my girl!) and mirrored my action. One hand came around my waist while the other rested comfortably yet casually on my chest. “Thank you. We’ve been dating for, what, maybe three months now?”
She looked up at me for confirmation, her eyes shining. We’d spent too much time together recently; if the wordless conversations we had daily were any indication, we’d be able to pull this off very well. “Three months and five days.” Within the statement was a veiled truth; we’d been living together for five months and three days.
Elijah looked between us. We just kept looking at each other. For now, I had free reign to look at her the way I wanted, to touch her as if she were mine. I wouldn’t let that go for anything or anyone. I didn’t know what she was thinking, and I wished some part of her wanted me, too.
Presumably uncomfortable, Elijah cleared his throat. “Well, um… it was nice to meet you, Malachai. I think I should take my leave. Niklaus, Kol… I’m heading back to New Orleans tonight.” His brothers rushed into the room, filled with questions. We simply stood and watched the show. With one last glance, Elijah left, and Kol trailed behind him. “Elijah! Sorry, brother. Thanks for the invitation.”
Klaus raised an eyebrow at us, comprehension gleaming in his expression. “And then there were six.” With great reluctance, I let Rosalie go. The act was up.
“Rosalie Wilson!” Caroline’s high-pitched voice echoed through the large foyer. Elena leaned against the doorframe leading to the dining room, also looking equally upset. “You and Kai have been dating for three months and you didn’t tell me?!”
Then again, maybe not.
Rosalie’s POV:
Oh boy. Caroline was pissed. Swallowing nervously, I attempted a cool smile. Linking my arm with Kai’s – who thankfully continued the show with me – I responded, “I know, Care. It’s just that… after my breakup with Elijah, I wanted to take things slowly and just be careful. After being with Kai day in and day out, I knew I wanted to be with him. I didn’t want to risk anything by moving too quickly.” My monologue had come to a close, and Kai finished the script. “We were planning on telling you all tonight anyhow. It just happened to come out in a… not-so-fun way.” Everyone stared at us, all with varying degrees of interest.
Damon was swirling his bourbon around in an ornate glass; he was all set and didn’t care much about anyone except Elena. Elena seemed to have heard and understood where I was coming from. Klaus was playing with Caroline’s hair as he hugged her from behind, perhaps trying to quell her distress. And Malachai…
Kai was staring at me with this pure, unbridled love in his eyes. I thought it would hurt to play the role of a happy girlfriend. In that moment, I found myself believing that if I was with Kai, I wouldn't be hurt again. I had the same thought months ago when I was deeply mourning my breakup. Even then, I’d thought about being with him. For now, even though it was make-believe, I’d cherish it.
“So!” Kai’s voice bounced off the walls. “I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m starving.”
~
Dinner was wonderful. Caroline was always the perfect hostess, and the food was wonderful. Given that two of the guests had disappeared, there was plenty to go around. Garlic and rosemary mashed potatoes, a gorgeous roast turkey, savory apple and sausage stuffing, orange cranberry sauce, cornbread… we’d all be eating leftovers for a month.
Malachai was even more caring than usual now that he was playing the role of my boyfriend. He made sure I didn’t have to reach for anything I wanted, refilled my water whenever he did his own, and kept some form of physical contact with me sporadically. The only thing missing from this equation was flirting, but this was better. It felt… real. Grounded. As easy as breathing.
Before we played a game or two, I’d excused myself to take a breather. This whole day had been a rollercoaster. With my scarring dream to Elijah showing up to this drama Kai and I were putting on, it had been overwhelming. I leaned against the shut bathroom door, just taking a few deep breaths.
My phone chimed a special tone that rang only when Kai texted me. “Don’t take so long, darling ;)”
My eyes looked upwards from my phone screen to the mirror in front of me. The expression on my face was one I never imagined I’d feel again. It was true, unadulterated joy. For the first time in what seemed like an eternity, my smile reached my eyes. Only Kai could make me feel this way.
Kai's POV:
I slipped my phone back into my pocket, pleased with my playful flirtation. I’d wanted this for a long time; I was going to milk it for all it was worth. Klaus handed me a glass of this warm spiced rum, which I graciously accepted. At least it wasn’t Damon’s bourbon again. Bourbon wasn’t my thing. I was secure enough in my masculinity.
I lounged on the couch, my feet propped up on the glass table. One wince from Caroline, and I straightened up. Rose came back then, and I took a seat on the floor where Elena was setting up Settlers of Catan. She sat down next to me, leaning against my shoulder. The line between friends and something more had always been blurry in our relationship. This made things even more confusing. How much of this was the act? How much was what she truly wanted?
Ultimately, it didn’t matter. Hadn’t I already decided to make the most of this time? I wouldn’t let the idea of losing it ruin what I felt right now. Playing my role – and giving into what I wanted all along – I hugged Rosalie closer to me, resting my head against hers. I handed her the glass of spiced rum, encouraging her to try it. She took a sip, humming thoughtfully. I knew she didn’t truly like rum, but she seemed to like this. Taking full advantage of the opportunity, I kissed her cheek softly. I heard her heartbeat hastened in response; was it from anxiety or excitement?
We played the game with our friends, laughing and enjoying the party. When it became apparent the only possible winners would be Caroline or Elena, we joined their boyfriends in cheering them on. My hand clasped Rosalie’s under the coffee table, linking our fingers together. No one saw our hands there. This was just for us. The night wore on. The more I got to live out my true desire, the more I feared I wouldn’t be able to let it go. I was selfish that way. What would happen when the party’s over?
Rosalie's POV:
It was midnight before we realized it. A full moon climbed up the night sky, visiting its starry friends in the sky. We bid our friends goodnight and headed home. As Kai slipped into the driver’s seat, turning the engine on, I realized I suddenly didn’t know what to say or do.
Malachai seemed to not have any ideas either, and we drove to our apartment in absolute silence. Even our deep understanding of each other wouldn’t help here, not when we were trying to uncover something we didn’t have a name for.
The drive had somehow been both unbearably long and unbelievably quick at the same time. We walked inside side by side, my ears picking up even the clink of the lock as it opened. “So, um… you really saved me tonight. First with him, and then with Caroline.”
Kai grinned at me while taking off his shoes and hanging up our coats. Even in the low lighting of our home, I could tell it wasn’t the same. “I did, didn’t I? That’s what best friends are for.” I don’t know what fantasies my mind had begun spinning. Malachai was just saving my skin. We would tell them all it was an act later. That made sense, I suppose. “Best friends… right.”
“Oh, screw this.” Within fractions of a second, Kai’s hands cupped my face. He looked at me almost severely, his eyes swirling with so many emotions at once. It was an unnavigable storm, and I was nearly lost in it. I would’ve been had he not crushed his lips against mine.
I didn’t freeze, nor was I all that surprised. This was Malachai, and I knew him as I knew myself. I’d wanted him for a long time, I just wouldn’t let myself admit it. Our lips meshed together, sliding between each other’s beautifully. His hands traveled from my face to my neck. Continuing down my sides, Kai finally reached his destination when his palms slipped into the back pockets of my jeans.
“Jump up onto me, baby.” He pulled away to give me his breathless command. I eagerly obliged, wrapping my legs around his waist. Claiming my lips once again, he carried me off to his room. I fell back onto his bed, and Kai followed suit, hovering over me. Raining kisses down my neck, Malachai elicited a moan from me, something that made him stop.
“Rosalie… tell me I’m not alone in craving you. Am I aching for you all alone? Tell me you want me, too.” His eyes were imploring, his voice so quiet it only reached me. I tenderly dragged my hand across his cheek, pressing a kiss to his jaw. “It’s not just you, Kai. I… I never realized how much I needed you. Not until tonight.”
That was all he needed to hear. Enveloping my lips with his once more, his left hand took hold of both my wrists, holding them up above my head. The other trailed down my torso, landing on my waist and sneaking under my sweater. His warmth, his scent, and even the smallest of sounds he made were perfection. When his fingers found the button of my jeans, I froze up under him. Our passionate embrace came to a skidding stop.
“What is it? Did I go too far? I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean–” He rambled with concern, and I cut him off with a soft kiss. “No, it’s not you. You’re perfect. It’s me…” The last person I was with – the only person I’d been with – was Elijah. When he left me, he shattered some hidden part of my soul. If Malachai and I were to cross this line, there would be no turning back. I’d need him forever, and if that wasn’t what he desired, then he shouldn’t waste his time with me. “For me, this isn’t about right now.
“It’s about forever, which means something very different in our world. If that’s too much for you, or if that’s not what you want, I don’t think we should go there… not tonight.” Kai released my hands, and I was staring down at the bedspread. With an unanticipated, gentle gesture, he lifted my chin such that I looked into his eyes. His were certain, unwavering. There seemed to be no doubt at all in his mind as he spoke.
“I love you, Rosalie.” My breath caught in my throat, and I momentarily tensed up. The way I felt for him was consuming, stronger than anything I’d known before. But I’d been hurt at this same crossroads, and I didn’t know if I could travel down that path just yet.
“You don’t have to say it back. Just listen to me.” Malachai’s hand shifted from my chin, now resting against my cheek. I nuzzled into it instinctively, desperate for his warmth and closeness.
“I love you. I’ve loved you for some time now. Loving someone… well, it was never something that I thought could happen to me. But you…” Kai began playing with my hair, moving us so that I was sitting in his lap. I rested my head on his shoulder as he spoke, listening intently. “You brought so much into my life. You are my best friend, and I know you as well as I know myself.
“You don’t have to say it back. If you want me to, I’ll wait for as long as you need.” He squeezed me in his embrace, resting his head against mine. “I won’t cross any boundaries until you take them down.”
Lifting Kai’s hand from my waist, I gingerly opened his palm. With a deliberate softness, I pressed my lips to each of his fingertips. He had to know how much I cared about him, even if I couldn’t put it into words as he had.
Malachai understood me instantly, and when I looked up at him, his kiss stole the rest of my thoughts. Turning in his lap, I wrapped myself around him. My fingers snaked upwards, intertwining with the hair at the base of his neck. Kai only tugged me closer until every inch of me melded with him.
“Mm… Rose…” I couldn’t pull away, even as he tried to speak. “Rosalie…” Whimpering ever so slightly, I obliged and moved away just an inch. “Are you sure you want this tonight? I need you to be certain, princess. You need to be prepared to be mine, from now until forever.” I nodded, unable to find my voice, but that didn’t seem to be enough. “I need your words, Rose. Tell me if you want this. If not, I’ll stop, I promise.”
“I want you, Malachai. Please…” He smiled, and it warmed my heart. The next kiss he pressed to my lips was so very tender, as if he were touching something dearly precious to him. Perhaps he was.
Kai's POV:
I held Rosalie delicately, shifting us so she lay beneath me once more. I was afraid of frightening her, making her run if I made too many of my needs known too soon; with how long I’d desired for this, some were bound to slip through despite my best intentions. I moved away from her lips, finding the sensitive skin of her neck instead. Trailing my mouth across her collarbone, I nipped at it playfully, loving the little gasp I got from her in response.
One hand pulled the sleeve of her sweater off of her shoulder, and I nestled into the crook there, sucking on her flesh and leaving my mark there. A deep, primal possessiveness woke within me when Rosalie’s hands found my body. She wrapped her arms around me, clutching me close to her. “I’m here, baby. I’m not going anywhere.”
Moving ever so slowly, I stripped her clothes from her. With every inch exposed, I peppered more kisses onto her skin, hoping to find the light within her and make it mine. When Rose lay bare beneath me, it took immeasurable control to keep things gentle. There would be more time for other explorations.
With the way my arms enveloped her, Rose couldn’t move much. When she asked to touch me, to feel me as I felt her, how could I possibly say no? With frenzied hands, she undressed me. Her cool skin was flush against my own, getting hotter with every passing second. My erection pressed against her trembling upper thigh, eliciting a desperate groan from us both.
There was much I ached to do before I claimed her for the first time. Looking into her eyes, I let my fingers slide down her stomach to her sex. That one touch made me lose to the lust I was trying so hard to hold back. There was a narcotic power in her gaze. Whether she knew it or not, I was at her mercy and would be for as long as she wanted me.
I sank a finger inside her, laying kisses down her body. Pumping it in and out steadily, I studied her reactions. She was exquisite. Her eyes were shut tightly, her fingers clasping at my shoulders as my tongue flicked against her hard nipples. My cold rings rubbed against her outer folds with every thrust of my fingers, and the shudder she gave was delicious.
When my lips finally met my fingers to pleasure her, Rose bucked forward off the bed. Pinned down by my firm grip, there was nowhere for her to escape the ecstasy I had in store for her. My fingers pushed deeper into her with each penetration, curling upwards to find her pleasure center inside her. She screamed for me, and I fucking loved it. “That’s it, baby girl. Just let go. Let me make you feel good.” My tongue joined in, sloppily consuming her liquid desire. I’d yearned to worship her body this way for so long, and I wouldn’t be done for a long time. Her walls clenched around my fingers, her legs splayed over my shoulders. “Are you going to cum for me, Rosalie? Are you going to cum for me like a good girl?”
Her reply came mixed with breathless moans and eager whimpers. “Yes, Daddy… I’m so close, please don’t stop!” Daddy? Her words pulled a growl from my chest, and I was invigorated. Pulling away, I gave her the command to cum for me, my thumb rubbing her clit while my fingers didn’t let up their attack. “Cum for Daddy, princess. Show Daddy how good he makes you feel.”
The dam of her pleasure exploded, and she unraveled under me. It was so fucking beautiful, and it was all mine. She was all mine. The sight of her made me desperate to quench my own thirst, and before her first orgasm could even subside, my throbbing cock replaced my fingers, my lips silencing her sounds.
Rosalie's POV:
Stars clouded my eyes. The only thing on my mind was Malachai. It took me over completely. I was his, and I didn’t want it any other way. Our tongues danced together when our kiss grew more torrid, our bodies rocking together and the bed along with us. He pulled away, staring down at me. One strong arm stabilized his body on the headboard, his muscles tensing with effort; his other hand wrapped around my throat, holding me down.
One orgasm melted into the second, making me writhe under him. “Ohhh, fuck!” His heated gaze bore into me as I came undone once more. My eyelids shut tightly in rapture, but that earned another growl from him. “Keep your eyes on me, Rosalie. I want to watch you cum for me over…” His hips slammed forward, making my breath halt in my chest. “Over…” Driving into me, Daddy stole all ounces of my sanity. "And over again. We’re not done until you’ve cum so many times you can’t think.”
“Mmgghh, Daddy! I’ve already – ahh! – done that!” My body quivered, overwhelmed with the sensations still coursing through me. My aching sex clamped around him as he continued pounding into me. “One more, baby girl. Can you give Daddy one more orgasm? Please?” Kai almost begged, and it was the hottest thing I’d ever heard.
Digging my teeth into my lower lip, I nodded. Kai leaned down to kiss my neck, whispering a soft, “Thank you, princess” in my ear. With the way he sped up, I could feel he was reaching his climax. Both our labored breathing and groans melted into the sound of our skin slapping together. “Bite me, love. Drink from Daddy.”
With an eager moan, I sank my teeth into his neck, loving the bite of him down the same. We drank from each other, completely connected by mind, body, and soul. Malachai reached the zenith of his pleasure, bringing me tumbling down another wave of bliss along with him. Our lustful sounds of orgasm were drowned in each other’s necks as we drank our fill.
When the sensations subsided, our lips met with a sense of completion and exhaustion. The lingering essence of each other remained in our mouths, making the kiss all the more fulfilling. When Kai slid out of me, I almost complained. With a kiss to my forehead, he summoned a washcloth, wiping away our sweat, blood, and love juices.
“How are you feeling, baby? I tried to go slow at first, but I don’t think I was all that successful.” Once cleaned up, Kai wrapped himself around me, spooning my smaller body with his larger one. I couldn’t see his eyes this way, but I could feel his heartbeat thumping against my back. It was soothing. “I’m perfect, Malachai. Thank you for tonight.” Earlier, I’d mentioned how he’d saved me tonight by pretending to be my boyfriend. I hadn’t realized it, but he’d saved me in many other ways. He saved my heart, got it back, and put it together after someone else crushed it. I would always be grateful to him for that.
Unable to stop himself, Kai pressed soft kisses to my chin and neck, holding me even closer. “Anytime.” He chuckled about something, and I was just about to inquire when he said, “That’s what boyfriends are for.” Laughing at the clever echo of his earlier words, I turned to face him. My hand rested on his cheek, his blue eyes shining in the dim lighting. My thumb caressed his skin, giving him a small fraction of the love and affection he deserved.
“Malachai Parker, I hope you know how perfect you are.” He grinned, kissing my nose. “Am I? Be sure to tell me that, at least three times a day.” Taking one of his hands, I kissed each of his fingertips once more, cherishing every part of him. “You are, and I love you.”

mars - gojo x reader
based on the song "mars" by sleeping at last
genre: angst, established relationship, gn!reader ; wc: 0.8k
warnings: general angst, blood, violence, graphic imagery, major character death basically i got really carried away and it's disturbing
Tumblr media
This mission could very well be your last - the one that put a decisive end to your career. Or your life.
You realized as much while you belted on your armor and weapons for what could possibly be the last time. It was a macabre sight for sunset - you are young, still, and so were all the others whose lives would be on the line. How many would die you didn't know.
"Hey, hey, don't look so depressed! We'll be fine!" he said, wrapping an arm casually around your shoulder, "I hate not getting to fight with you, but I'll see you on the other side, yeah?"
"Yeah, I'll see you on the other side." You let yourself lean into his shoulder, "I love you, Satoru."
With a giggle, he kissed you on the cheek, "Aww, I love you too. Now let's go kill some curses, and if we're done early enough I'll take you out on a date, kay?"
You couldn't help but chuckle at his nonchalance. "I'll hold you to it."
His calm was enviable, a bit of his confidence trickling into you as you began making your way to your post. Neither of you looked back.
Tumblr media
By daybreak, there was only carnage. The battle - hours, it must've been - was blurring together in your mind, the hundreds of creatures you cut down combining into a horrific mass in your memories. There was blood on your clothes, some yours, some from the curses, some from the others-
The others.
Satoru.
Satoru.
He was supposed to be nearby, but you knew, you knew how he fought: for all you knew he was in the next county over. But still you ran, heaving your heavy and aching bones forward, searching for that stupidly carefree man. Though each step sent splinters of pain through your muscles, you ran, searching blindly and desperately for his white hair and bright laugh.
It was Ijichi, standing deathly still on the battlefield, who served as your landmark. One of the many cleaning up the mess.
"SATORU" You called, running faster, tripping over your aching feet, falling with every step but unable to stop. Ijichi watched you with a hollow gaze as you approached, quivering in the air thick with smoke.
At your feet was a body, broken and bloodied. Whatever had ended this life was not merciful, and the twisted limbs and pools of blood were testimony.
Those ice-blue eyes had never seemed so lifeless.
Satoru.
"SATORU" You cried, falling to your knees with a crack, searing pain shooting through your brutalized body. "SATORU YOU PROMISED. YOU PROMISED WE'D MAKE IT OUT OF THIS."
Your throat burned from the screaming and the smoke, and the tears stung as they escaped your eyes. Water tainted by blood and dirt dripped onto Satoru's lifeless form, Satoru the man who was never injured, the man who laughed in battle because he knew he would see the light of the next day. But this time he did not.
Satoru's final daybreak had passed. And yours had not. How backward that seemed - you were the one who wondered late at night what might happen if you were to become one of the casualties, the one that was reassured every day that you won't die.
"Satoru... Satoru.... I love you." you whispered, though your words held no weight now. Had they ever? The late-night conversations, the gentle kisses, the teasing and flirting and wholehearted love - did any of them matter? At one point you'd hoped that those words would become your life, your future, your forever. But that could no longer be so. Because Satoru was gone.
Gojo Satoru, confidence personified, indestructible, was dead.
Ijichi tapped your shoulder gently. "We best be going. They're here for him, and you need a doctor."
You stood up hollowly, watching Satoru's body be picked up and carried away as Ijichi led your half-dead soul to a car. The memories replayed like broken records in your mind.
Tumblr media
You lived through three more daybreaks before you saw Satoru again. Though it wasn't really him - only what remained, a dull greyish powder in an unremarkable jar. There was no life, nor even an echo of the brightness he once was.
When you received the call, you pondered again if this mission would be your last. And this time there was nobody to console you, nobody to make empty promises to smile with you again once it was over. Only the broken recollections of him.
Go, make a better life without me. He would've told you. Keep my students safe, fight more curses, and find love again. Be full of life.
Gojo Satoru always had too much faith.

Hiii hiii I know you're dals dedicated blog 😌 but I was just wondering what other books from Romance Club have you enjoyed so far? What are your other favorite lis?
I would love to see your other playthroughs as well if you're comfortable sharing 🤗🤗♥️
Hi!! It's so sweet of you to ask!! Here are some other RC books I've enjoyed:
Psi. Objectively, the best book I've played so far. Lou, her dynamic with Kay (platonic or romantic), and the plot are all amazing 👌👌👌 Initially romanced Ivo, but he wasn't doing much for me, so am now replaying for Kay!
Arcanum. Most people seem to dislike the ending, and I disagree!!! I think that, plot-wise, it was an excellent ending!!! It makes you look at the whole book through a new lens, and the bad route endings fit perfectly with the replayability of a visual novel game!!! Underrated fr!! From that one, I romanced and enjoyed Liam, but nowadays, I think I would enjoy Damon more, despite………….. everything.
Ash in Song of the Crimson Nile finally gave me more of that sociopathic, entitled, manipulative flavor that I was craving post-Mehmed 🥰🥰 But like, with his own quirks and everything, he's not a Mehmed copy, you know what I mean? From that book, I also ADORE Livius and his beautiful friendship with MC. It pleasantly surprised me!! He's excellent!
Love, Sin & Evil vol. 1 for the vampires, the vibes, the silliness, and the insane coding. Ngl, this last update really disappointed me, but the one before that was sooo good. They GET it (darkness path>>>). And I think horror might be my favorite genre to play in visual novels, so ❤️❤️❤️ None of the LIs do much for me, but I like the redhead vampire and Tony the best!
Kali: Flame of Samsara. I'm kind of enjoying this more than I did SCN? But I couldn't tell you why, except that I like Christian!
The Flower From Tiamat's Fire for Niall and Nikkal. My loves.
On my to-play list: Legend of the Willow (I'll romance Shino), Chasing You (will romance Rachel), and Heaven's Secret (will go for Lucifer)
Thank you so much for asking! I hope you're having an excellent day!! ❤️❤️❤️

Well kids, it's finally time. After 30+ years spent playing and replaying the 4 games released on the NES a near infinite number of times, I am long overdue to finally sit down and watch the 1991 anime series, Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai!
I know there was a more recently released remake of this series (I'm told it's a sort of DBZ Kai type remake), but I wanted to watch the original 1991 anime first, since that's closer in tone to what I'm expecting from this series. Also I've been on a major 80s/90s anime kick lately, so let's keep it that way!
I'm excited to geek out about this series, because I'll be stopping every five minutes to point out every single monster, background music track, and character reference I can spot. I don't think any of you realize just how big of an absolute DQ nerd I am (at least when it comes to DQ 1-4, NA english translations only, lmao). Even after only two episodes, I've been naming every music track, catching every monster, and nailing which game each background character design is likely from. Expect a lot of posts to come on this one!
(I have a feeling this show will mostly focus on references to DQ 1-3, which is what most people are familiar with from the older games, but I'm really REALLY hoping for some DQ4 love, as 4 is extremely special to me!)

"Come on , you stupid thing," you grumbled at the Bulletin's ancient copier as it sputtered and creaked. "I know it's early, but work , damn you."
You weren't in the best mood this morning -- you hadn't slept well, your mind choosing to replay your almost-kiss with Matt from the previous evening every time you closed your eyes.
You looked over at the doorway as the sound of footsteps neared. "Oh, hey, there you are," Skyler said as she poked her head in the doorway. "You have a visitor."
Your heart leaped. "Who is it?"
Skyler sighed wistfully. "The future father of my children. He didn't give his name but he's a really hot blonde-haired dude."
Part of you wished that it had been Matt, but after the way you had run out on him the previous night you supposed that would've been too much to hope for. "Okay, thanks."
Skyler stepped fully into the copy room, her brow furrowing. "Hey, are you alright?"
You shrugged. "I'm fine."
Skyler crossed her arms. "No, you don't look happy. Did something happen with Chef Hottie last night? Because I don't care how many Michelin stars he has, I'll go kick his ass if I need to."
You huffed out a soft laugh and shook your head. "Not necessary. I'm just tired."
Skyler nodded and uncrossed her arms. "As long as you're okay."
"I am. Thanks for your concern, though. I really appreciate it."
Skyler gave you a quick hug. "Of course. You're my bestie, I'm not going to let anyone mess with you."
You gave her a hug back. "Ditto. I'll tell you all about last night as soon as I deal with whoever this is, 'kay?"
Skyler nodded, then winked. "You'd better."
You followed her out of the copy room and into the bullpen, your eyebrows raising as you spotted your visitor. "Chef Nelson."
Chef Nelson raised his hand in greeting. "Hi. Is this a bad time?"
You shook your head. "Oh, no, I was just fighting with our copy machine, but I can let someone else have a turn trying to battle it out. What can I do for you?"
Chef Nelson bit his lip. "Can we talk?"
You nodded. "Sure."
You turned towards Skyler. "By the way, Sky, this is Chef Nelson, Chef Murdock's business partner. Chef Nelson, this is Skyler. She's our Lifestyle writer here at the Bulletin ."
Skyler reached out to shake Chef Nelson's hand, a broad smile spreading across her face. "It's nice to meet you, Chef Nelson."
"Nice to meet you too," Chef Nelson replied with an equally broad smile. "And please, call me Foggy -- uh, both of you."
You smiled to yourself. You could practically see the cartoon hearts floating above both Foggy's and Skyler's heads.
You nodded. "Sure."
You turned towards Skyler. "I'll be in the conference room. Foggy, you can follow me."
You led Foggy to the conference room, your heart twisting as you remembered doing the same thing with Matt not even a week earlier.
You closed the door and gestured to a chair. "Make yourself comfortable. Can I get you anything to drink? Water, coffee… tea?"
Foggy shook his head as he sat. "No, thank you."
You sat across from him. "So what can I help you with?"
Foggy took a deep breath. "I um, I just wanted to apologize for interrupting you and Matt last night. I had no idea that he, uh, had company at the restaurant and didn't mean to intrude."
You shook your head, your heart beginning to thrum nervously in your chest. "No, you weren't intruding. I was just there to taste some new recipes that Matt had said he was thinking about adding to the menu. We had already finished and were just talking when you came in."
Foggy huffed out a laugh. "Seemed like a pretty important conversation."
Your face heated. You weren't sure what exactly Matt had told Foggy about your evening together. "Nothing he and I couldn't talk about later."
You licked your lips nervously. "By the way, how, um, how is Matt this morning?"
Foggy shook his head. "I don't know, I haven't talked to him yet today. We start prepping later on Tuesdays since Matt's always experimenting in the kitchen until really late on Mondays."
"Oh." You couldn't help but wonder if Matt had ever had anyone else over to the restaurant for a 'blind tasting'. "Okay."
Foggy studied you. "You know, I really do appreciate you giving him a second chance after you two started off on the wrong foot. Not that I'm trying to make excuses for him, but he's been through a lot in the past couple of years and is still dealing with some stuff."
You shook your head. "It's not a problem. And there's no need to apologize for last night, I promise."
"Thanks so much." Foggy stood. "I should get going -- I have a couple of errands to run before I head to the restaurant, but thanks for taking the time to talk with me."
You nodded. "Of course. Here, I'll walk you out."
You opened the door to the conference room and ushered Foggy out into the bullpen, stopping by Skyler's desk. "You know, I actually really do need to get back to my battle with the copier, so Sky, would you mind walking Foggy out?"
Skyler shook her head. "No, it'd be my pleasure."
"Thanks." You turned towards Foggy. "Thanks for dropping by."
Foggy nodded, his eyes firmly on Skyler. "Sure."
Skyler stood. "Right this way."
You shook your head with a smile as Skyler and Foggy headed towards the elevator. There was no denying the chemistry between those two and you would've been shocked if Skyler didn't come back with Foggy's phone number at the very least, if not a date.
You headed back to the copy room, determined to beat the copy machine at its own game.
You had finally gotten it to cooperate when Skyler came in, sighing happily.
You grinned over at her. "You're welcome."
She playfully shook her finger at you. "Girl, why didn't you tell me Chef Hottie's business partner was even hotter than him?"
You huffed out a laugh. "I only met Foggy one time before last night, which reminds me…"
You grabbed your copies. "Come on, let's go get some coffee and I'll tell you about it."
You walked into the break room, pointedly ignoring Kelsie, who was talking to another one of your coworkers.
"James surprised me with tickets to this very exclusive wine tasting event upstate  this weekend," she was saying. "Only the finest vintages will be served."
You rolled your eyes. You had never met Kelsie's boyfriend and knew absolutely nothing about him (nor did you care to), but you had certainly heard his name enough times to already be tired of hearing about him.
Kelsie sneered over at you. "Well, I guess I better go get started on my Restaurant Week coverage since someone stole the feature story from me."
You sighed to yourself as they left the break room, grabbing the bag of coffee you kept at work and filling the permanent filter pod for the office Keurig before popping it into the brewer.
" God , I can't stand her," Skyler muttered. "Anyway, tell me about last night."
You filled a cup with some water and poured it into the reservoir before placing the cup underneath the Keurig and setting it to brew. "Okay, well, Matt was waiting in the lobby to unlock the door for me when I got to Daredevil," you began. "I was supposed to watch him cook again, but instead he sat me down at a table near the kitchen then went to get some water and crackers."
You bit your lip. "After he came back he, um, he pulled a blindfold out of his pocket and asked me if it was okay if we did a blind tasting."
"He blindfolded you?" A small smirk appeared on Skyler's face. "Kinky."
You huffed out a laugh. "It wasn't like that! Matt just wanted me to be able to understand how he develops his flavors and have me judge a dish using my non-visual senses."
You shook your head. "Anyway, he brought out the first dish, which was a butternut squash risotto with pancetta that both smelled and tasted amazing ."
Skyler hummed. "Ooh, that does sound delicious."
You nodded. "It really was."
"So how was it trying to eat without being able to see your food?"
You huffed out a breath as your coffee finished brewing. "Honestly, it was really disorienting. Matt had to help me find my spoon for the risotto and since he had me eat a cracker and drink some water in between dishes so I wouldn't still be tasting what I had just eaten when he brought out the next dish I was terrified of spilling my water all over. Luckily I made it through without making a mess."
Skyler smiled softly at you as she took a turn at the Keurig. "Something tells me he would've been understanding even if you had accidentally spilled something."
You nodded. "Yeah, you're probably right. Anyway, the second dish wound up being a beet hummus, which I'm afraid to say was awful ."
You grinned at the memory. "Luckily Matt tasted it and agreed with me that it was terrible, that it was definitely a no for the menu."
You continued telling Skyler about the different dishes Matt had you try, including the pesto-parmesan linguine that you were still thinking about. "Finally he brought out this blood orange cremé bruleé that he had been working on and a blood orange mimosa to go with it, and oh my god, Sky, it was so damn good."
You took a sip of your coffee. "I made a joke about it replacing Matt's tiramisu as my favorite dessert and it actually turned out that he had also made some tiramisu and wanted me to try it since he had tweaked the recipe. He also said I could take the blindfold off then asked if I wanted some more champagne since he had opened a new bottle for the mimosa and there was no sense in letting it go flat."
Skyler took a sip of her own coffee. "I'm sure that wasn't the only reason, but go ahead."
"The tiramisu was even better than the first one he had made for me, so he said since it had my approval it was ready to go on the menu." You bit your lip, second-guessing whether you should tell Skyler about the rest of your evening. "I, um, I asked him to tell me when it was added to the menu so I could be there to order it as soon as they opened, and Matt joked that he'd have it ready for me when I arrived, so I asked if he'd bring it out to me personally and he said yes, that he'd make the time to come say hi… and then he asked me what I looked like."
Skyler's eyebrows raised. "He did?"
You nodded. "He said that he'd had a blank picture of me in his head all week so he had been curious then he said that he could picture people based on physical descriptions alone but could more accurately picture them if he felt their facial features, so after I described myself to him I told him he could feel my face if he wanted."
"And did he?"
Your face heated at the memory of Matt's fingertips softly gliding along your skin, his brow furrowed in concentration as he painted a mental picture of you.
You nodded. "He said I was beautiful… then he leaned in to kiss me."
Skyler gasped. "You kissed him? "
You winced and quickly shook your head. "Right before we did Foggy came in from the kitchen and startled me, so I jumped back. He apologized for interrupting and I said that it was fine, that I needed to go anyway, and then I grabbed my stuff and practically ran out of there."
Skyler groaned out your name. "Girl. Why? "
"Because I'm an idiot, that's why." You sighed. "I panicked. "
"And that's why you couldn't sleep."
You nodded. "I kept replaying it in my head over and over, trying to imagine different scenarios and ways it could have turned out if Foggy hadn't shown up or if I hadn't bolted. That's actually why he came by -- to apologize again for interrupting me and Matt last night."
You bit your lip as a thought struck you. "He said that Matt had been through a lot in the past couple of years, so what if Kelsie is actually right? What if Matt is just pretending to like me so I'll write a positive article about him that'll help him rebuild his reputation?"
Skyler shook her head. "Do you even know what could have happened to where Matt would need to rebuild his reputation?"
You shook your head in response. "No."
"Then don't listen to Kelsie. I'm sure she's just making shit up."
"I hope so, because I really like him. I haven't felt this way about anyone in a really long time, Sky, so if it turns out he's been playing me this whole time…" You trailed off with a sigh.
"Hey, if he has been then that offer to kick his ass still stands." Skyler smiled at you. "No matter how hot his business partner is."
"Oh, shit, yeah." You shook your head to clear it. "How was walking Foggy out? You seemed pretty happy when you came back."
Skyler grinned. "Well, that's because I have a date Saturday morning. Foggy and I are going to go have coffee before he has to get to the restaurant."
You smiled. I knew it. "That's great. I'm really happy for you."
Skyler studied you. "So what are you going to do about Matt?"
You shook your head. "I'm just going to wait until my article is turned in and see how it goes."
You finished your coffee and rinsed your cup out. "I need to start going over these printouts."
Skyler gave you a brief hug. "Hey, I'm sure everything is going to be fine."
You nodded. "I hope so."
You really hoped so, because with the way you were starting to feel about Matt you weren't sure if you could handle a broken heart.

"Combine properly, damn it," Matt growled at the dough he was trying to prepare for the night's supply of dinner rolls. "Why aren't you cooperating?"
"Because you're being mean to it," Foggy said as he came into the kitchen. "Well, that or the fact that your yeast is still sitting over here on the prep counter."
Matt groaned then dumped the dough into the trash. "Shit ."
Foggy chuckled. "Good morning to you too, buddy."
Matt turned his head towards him as Foggy passed him to go wash his hands. "You went by the Bulletin this morning. I can smell newsprint on you."
Foggy hummed in the affirmative. "As a matter of fact, I did. And before you ask, yes, she looked just as miserable as you do."
Matt could feel his friend studying him. "I'm not miserable , I'm just tired. I got less sleep than usual."
"Are you ready to tell me what happened last night?"
Matt nodded. "Originally the plan was for her to come watch me work on developing those new dishes for the menu, but I decided to make it a blind tasting instead in order to try to make it a bit more… personal."
Foggy chuckled. "You mean romantic."
"Yeah, okay, romantic." Matt sighed as he began to re-make the dough for the rolls. "And it seemed like it was working, too -- she was responding positively to my hints that I'm attracted to her."
He shook his head. "Everything was going great -- she gave me some really good feedback on the dishes and was joking around with me about the cremé bruleé surpassing the tiramisu as her new favorite dessert of mine, so I asked her to taste the final recipe before she made that distinction.
"She loved it, of course, and said to let her know when we added it to the menu so she could be the first one in line to order it once we opened that day, so I told her that I'd have it ready for her when she arrived, and she asked if I'd bring it out to her personally and I said of course, that I'd definitely make the time to come say hi to her."
Foggy huffed out a laugh. "Wow, you two are not subtle."
Matt shook his head as he mixed all of the ingredients and began to knead the dough together. "It's been driving me crazy not having any sort of clue what she looks like, so I asked her. She seemed a bit surprised at the question, which honestly was understandable since I just kind of threw it at her out of nowhere, but I explained how I can "see" people by touching them, so after she described herself to me she offered to let me feel her facial features."
He smiled to himself as his mental picture of you floated into his mind. At least he managed to get that before everything went to shit. "I told her she was beautiful, and that's when I tried to kiss her."
"And when I walked in and ruined the moment."
Matt shook his head. "It's not your fault, really. Obviously I had misread something between us somewhere and trying to kiss her made her uncomfortable."
He covered the (now correctly prepared) dough and put it in the refrigerator to rise. "I spent all night replaying everything in my head trying to figure out exactly where I screwed up. She's the most incredible woman to ever come into my life, Foggy, I don't know what I'd do if it turned out she was just using me like Elektra did."
"I honestly don't think she is, Matty, but speaking of meeting incredible women…" Foggy huffed out a happy sigh. "I'm pretty sure I met my future wife today."
Matt chuckled as he moved to the sink to wash and dry his hands. "Well at least one of us is sure. Who is she?"
"Her name is Skyler -- she's the Lifestyle writer at the Bulletin ."
Matt nodded. "Oh, yeah, I met her the other day. She seemed nice."
"We're going out for coffee on Saturday morning, so I might be a bit late getting here depending on how well things go."
Matt patted Foggy on the back. "I'm really happy for you."
"Thanks." Foggy paused. "So what are you going to do about everything?"
Matt shook his head. "I don't know yet. Probably just wait until the article comes out on Monday and go from there."
Foggy sighed. "Well no matter what you decide, I'm here for you, buddy."
"Thanks." Matt began dicing tomatoes for the marinara sauce, his mind drifting back to you by his side as you cut up tomatoes for the salads at Clinton Church.
He really hoped you weren't just using him, because he was pretty sure he was already falling for you.

so I replayed the demo with the AITA posts in mind. the ones for Azriel, Cass, Xander, and Kai are obvious (Xander and Azriel's have their ages, Kai is the old school friend, Cass is the ex)
but the other 3 are a little harder - I seriously feel like a red string conspiracy theorist but here are my thoughts. feel free to tell me how wrong I am.
the boys left are: Eli, Damián, Wren, Rook, and Lir.
Fake marriage: Damián (faeries don't get married so the 2 fae are ruled out, he's the head of the pack so marrying him would provide safety, plus he came to check on mc to make sure they were okay so it wouldn't be a stretch to assume he cares about them and wants to protect them)
Pretend relationship - Rook (he seems most likely to insult mc, though I'm not certain on this one)
Cabin: Eli (could be Wren but Eli seems more cabin-y, plus they kinda got off on the wrong foot when Eli tried to break in to mc's apartment, could have lied about why he was there, and said that he'd be in town for a while)
of course I could be completely wrong about all of this 😂and I'll probably send updated thoughts when a new one is posted.
ps: i adore the demo so much and can't wait for the game
I was going to be all evasive and give a non-answer... but you put in the work so I'm going to tell you... you're right! Damián's route involves a marriage of convenience, the MC fakes being Rook's lover, and the MC is indeed stuck in a cabin with Eli at some point.
Which means Lir and Wren are the two ROs who have yet to be AITA'd. Mostly because these two are the absolute least likely to BE assholes lol. They have hearts of gold under those tiddies. And they both have secrets. One of them has layers upon layers of secrets. So it's hard to avoid spoilers when talking about their routes.

is that famous tumblr user mossy-opal?! just a few questions for the next month's issue please ma'am, the fans need to know! 🎤 49, 24, 26, 12?
I don't think I'll ever get used to someone calling me famous-
49; Can you skip rocks?
No.... But I can hoola-hoop.
24; If we were together on a rooftop, what would we be doing?
Star gazing, and plotting nefariously
26; A scenario that you’ve replayed multiple times?
Oh there's so many to count... One that immediately comes to mind however is one I dreamt about though.
My sona/character, Opal, is a quirkless doctor who works with Tomura. However, the Shie Hassaikai catches wind of her, and Kai demands her assistance in finding his "cure". Reluctantly she works with him, and he grows feelings for her. One evening, when Kai is heading to his own office, he passes by the office he gave Opal to use. The door is cracked open, and inside, Tomura is there. He and Opal are... Getting into it, and Kai is outside the door, getting off on it.
Why? Because I'm into that stuff, that's why. 😈
12; What kind of day is it?
*Sigh* A long one.

Ooh godot and 2, for the character asks? (Or 23 if you think he ever gets out of jail)
2. When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like)
Truly and sincerely, I was not a Godot fan when I first played T&T. This smug irritating prick who says nonsense and makes it his whole business to annoy me, I wanted to beat him to death. I found him interesting by the end, sure, but I don't think I realized how much I actually liked him until I got to my first replay of T&T where I made a friend play. There's something very specific that I enjoy about making someone else suffer from a character that pissed me off, and I think that's what won me over (same with Simon tbh, hated his ass).
Coincidentally, I think it was about at that T&T playthrough when I first started writing The Miraculous Disappearance of Phoenix Wright. You can kind of trace a lot of my gaming in that fic if you pay attention. A lot of Godot during T&T, a lot of Kay and Gumshoe during my first Investigations playthrough, Kristoph during the AJ playthrough. Kind of funny how that turned out, because I had a lot of the fic planned out even before I got through T&T.
Also, heck, you know what, I'll do 23 too.
23. Future headcanon
I do think he gets out of jail eventually. I mean, he absolutely murdered someone and put plenty of people in danger for his own ego, but at the end of the day, the most criminal act he did was protecting a teenage girl, so I like to think he gets out on parole. Plus, I would love a post-canon Godot to open a coffee shop like in TMDoPW. Like. A better run one, obviously, but still, something that would bring him joy.
I also like to imagine he would at the very least reconnect with Iris, Maya, and Pearl at some point, though I cannot imagine him initiating that. One of the Fey girlies I think would do that. Maybe Pearl. Or possibly Maya. He is one of the last strong links to Mia after all.

Unpopular opinion: I don't understand why everyone still dislike Kay after it was confirmed that there was no SA. They did him dirty by introducing him like that for sure, but he's actually smart and caring to the point he was genuinely concerned for a woman he barely knew and who caused him to get shot. I think an empath partner is exactly what our emotionally constipated MC needs because she's definitely not the type to talk feelings out, man's gonna need those superpowers to guess LOL I'll probably go for him unless someone else piques my interest more Idk
It was confirmed? I mean, I saw a note saying something like that on the fandom.wiki, but I haven't seen it in game (probably bc I've only replayed the start of Psi before the update.) Either way, I think most of us are just very hesitant about his character because, if he's actually innocent, they did him a Whole lot of dirty, bc holy shit! They made him look like some kind of predator by the warning and the opened pants, then made Lou witness he assaulting a screaming woman on a back ally, and then when questioned, he just said he did nothing while her opened pants is shrugged off - by the narrative, as something unimportant. The whole thing feels very off.
Also, idk about others, but Kay's little smirk and turtleneck make me a little wary of him, tbh. Besides how fast he shrugs off the incident where MC knocks his food off to the ground, which seemed to have been organic and Lou can't shut the fuck up about how hard it seems to be eating organic/natural food every day.
In the lastest chapters, he seems much better than I thought he would be, but there are these things I mentioned that make me wary and uncomfortable.
I don't judge you at all, anon, I got his first diamond choice, and if it wasn't for this whole mess, I would probably like him, maybe not as a LI, but I would still like him.
