ADHD & Starting a New WIP

Anonymous asked: i've been using chatgpt to avoid clogging your inbox, but it wasn't much helpful since it sent me in loops. I remember you writing about having ADHD which is why I felt you were qualified to answer this.

Please never worry about clogging my inbox... I'll get to everything in time. ♥ And yes, I do have ADHD, so here goes...

I have a problem that is more relevant to my autism/adhd: choice paralysis and indecisiveness. It is impacting my writing too much. No matter what advice I read, nothing is helping. I can't come up with/decide on a plot. I don't have a "feeling" like I used to anymore to just go with something. My brain HAS to explore EVERY option before deciding. There's just too much power in creating a story, and I don't think I can handle it. Do you have any tips to handle this indecisiveness and just actually do something? Do you mind sharing your own process when you start a brand new WIP and the only characterisation you have is "This is John, he wants to be a writer" and nothing else?

Dealing with Indecisiveness and Competing Ideas

Step 1 - Get Everything Out - Start with a brainstorming session and get all the ideas out on paper. All of those "explore every option" ideas... write them all down. Write down ideas until you can't think of anything else to write.

Step 2 - Take Stock - Next, count up all your ideas and organize them if need be... for example, if some of the ideas are related to character but others are related to setting, group them into their specific groups. Then, count up how many ideas you have in each group. Like, 17 character ideas, 10 world ideas, 4 plot ideas.

Step 3 - Eliminate by Half - I find it very helpful to eliminate my ideas by half just as a disciplinary means of keeping things in check. So, I would need to eliminate 7 or 8 character ideas, 5 world ideas, and 2 plot ideas. This is hard but it has to be hard. The point is to force yourself to not overthink it. Set a timer for a minute if you have to and say that you have to circle 8 character ideas before the timer goes off. Any ideas that aren't circled by the time the buzzer goes off will not be considered. Again, it's harsh, but for me it works.

Step 4 - Save the Ideas You Eliminate - This is KEY. Having a notebook or document where you save discarded ideas makes it easier to eliminate them because you don't feel like you're throwing them out. You're just saving them for later to be recycled for future projects.

Step 5 - Play Around a Bit - Look at your remaining ideas... let's say the 8 character ideas... is there anything you can discard right off the top? Are there any ideas that thrill you more than the others? Can any ideas be combined somehow? Can any of these ideas easily be fleshed out a little further?

Step 6 - Eliminate by Half Again and Again- The idea above is to try to condense things by combining ideas and/or seeing which ideas speak to you and which really don't. Take those 8 character ideas and narrow them down to 4. Set the timer again if you have to. Then, do it again until you have only two ideas.

Step 7 - Look at Pros/Cons - Now it comes down to picking between two ideas. Do a pro/con list for each. Does one idea thrill you more? Is one idea more fleshed out? Does one idea require more research? Does one idea feel too close to a previous story? Once you have a pro/con list for each idea, you can see which idea is probably better. And, once again, the idea that isn't used goes into the document to be saved for later.

Starting a Brand New WIP with ADHD

My process is always a little bit different, but I do usually start with a brainstorming session where I just write down all the random ideas I have. From there, I narrow things down (using the above method) to just the ideas I want to move forward with, then I usually free write a general summary of the story as I see it playing out in that moment. Depending on the idea, this can be just a couple vague paragraphs or it can be pages of detailed events. Either way, having some idea of the beginning to end story is important. Once I know the needs of the story, I can start to think more about the characters and their needs based on the story. This is where it's pretty essential to understand things like Plot Driven vs Character Driven Stories, Understanding Goals and Conflict, Basic Story Structure, and How to Move a Story Forward. The more I know about the needs of my story (the story conflict, my character's goal, who or what stands against them, etc.) the easier it is to flesh out the story. I'm a planner, so from there I will usually draw out a general timeline and a scene list, but some writers may find it easier to just start writing from here.

Three of the biggest game changers for me--which honestly I still struggle with sometimes--are:

-- Setting up a routine: having a specific time, place, and duration to write. Even if it's sitting on my bed for ten minutes in the morning to write. Just having something set makes a difference.

-- Eliminating Distractions: no phone, no TV, no music with lyrics, no internet, nothing that will draw my attention away from writing.

-- Good Vibes Only: I'm not a fan of toxic positivity, but negativity and self-criticism will surely take the wind out of your writing sails. I try to give myself small, reachable goals, but if I don't reach them or don't feel like writing on a given day, I don't beat myself up about it. Instead, I try to find something fun to do that's related to my story, like saving pictures for a mood board or auditioning songs for a playlist. That positive reinforcement (and sense of accomplishment for moving the needle forward in some way) keeps writing from becoming something I dread, and that positivity will hopefully follow me into the next day and help me to write.

Soft spot

Ransom is a dick. He knows it. Everyone knows it.

And he's actually pretty proud of his personality. A very confident, arrogant man, with the looks of a god-many women and men would do everything and anything to just touch his abs. Or maybe his ass. He had a great ass. Or his biceps...Yeah, he knew he was good looking.

That's why it always annoyed him that one of Megs friends didn't even look at him. You were just something else. Such a sweet girl, always helping his family with household errands, you definitely didn't need taking care of-they had a maid to do that. Yet you always said it wasn't a problem, that you could do these things-just like you were doing in your own home.

"You really don't have to do that, Darling", said Ransom, when you took his mug, washing it with your own and also Megs. She went to her room, since she needed to take a important call.

A quite laugh escaped your throat. "Hugh, please don't do anything stupid-and don't come any closer", you said, when you heard him moving. Ransom abruptly stopped walking. How did you know?  He tried to be so quiet!

It was a game he liked playing with you-not that you really wanted to or had a say in it. He always tried to sneak up on you, every time you were here.

The family was kind of surprised how Ransom seemed to like you-how interested he was in you and your well-being. They noticed his stolen glances-and you purposefully ignored him. At least it seemed like that.

But you were looking at him. You noticed him the first day you visited Meg, him in his white sweater, arguing with Fran over something-you had no idea what it was about but it was funny-watching them throwing insults at each other. "Eat shit!", was the last thing he said before storming out of the room-walking right past you. He stilled, turning around and looking at you. "Well, hello there, darling, I'm-" "Hugh, I heard, I'm here for Meg, not you", you said, turning back around and going to her room. he watched you go, grinning slightly. "It's Ransom, actually."

The first time he accidentally sneaked up on you-without scaring you-was late at night, you were making yourself a tea and seemed pretty much In thought, looking out of the window, in which you saw his Reflexion in. A little smirk spread onto your lips, while he slowly came closer. Before he was right behind you, you twirled around, making him jump back, gasping loudly. "Stupid move, Hugh. Go to bed. I'm doing the same", you grabbed your tea and  walked right past him. Ransom grinned slightly following you. "Your own bed-in your own room", you closed the door in his face. Making him sigh.

"Ransom likes you. He's so...different when you're around", said Meg, while you two sat in the living room, painting each other nails. Meg was currently painting your second hand with a pretty  dark red. "I don't think so", mumbling you watched Hugh walk into the room, lightening up immediately. A smile on his face, while he bit into a cookie he was holding. He had them always with him.

Grinning he came closer, stopping right in front of you. Meg watched the two of you. “Can I have a cookie?” “No”, he didn’t even look at her while answering. Ransom kept his eyes on you, not breaking eye contact, while he held the cookie out to you-the one he already had bitten a pice off.

The corner of your lips twitched, while you opened your mouth slowly, sticking your tongue out. Ransom definitely hadn’t expected this-which is why he just stared at you for a moment, the cookie long forgotten. “Will I get my treat?”, you asked nicely, looking at him from under your eyelashes. Ransom cleared his throat sliding the cookie into your mouth, before he stormed out of the room.

“Ew, that’s my cousin you gave the ‘fuck me eyes’ to, you know? Ew”, Meg said, making you blush slightly. “It’s just so funny to tease him.” You shrugged, looking down at your nails. “I’ve never seen him this flustered. He was blushing like a shy virgin”, Megs comment made you laugh out loud. Well, she wasn’t wrong. He did blush.

Quietly crying you entered the big house. After having a few drinks with a old friend it turned out he just wanted you for sex-and when you told him you saw him as nothing more than a fried, he slut-shamed you. Normally you would ignore it-but it sting, since he really seemed like a good friend. You enjoyed his company. That’s why you decided to come here, talk to Meg, your best friend. But she hadn’t answered any of your messages-so you assumed she was asleep, that’s why you came over.

“Hello, darling, what are you doing this late at-what happened?”, ransoms voice brought you out of your train of thoughts. Sobbing quietly you shook your head, not being able to answer him.

His heart clenched seeing you cry like that. He’d never seen you cry. Slowly he approached you, pulling you into a tight hug, even though he wasn’t really someone who liked hugs.

You buried your face in his soft sweater, inhaling his rich, yet sweet and pleasant scent. It felt nice, having his arms wrapped around you, feeling his bulky body against yours. You held onto his sweater tightly, like it was the only thing keeping you above.

Ransom rocked gently with you in his arms, kissing your head tenderly. “It’s okay…let’s sit down, hm? I’ll make us a tea…maybe some cookies?”, you nodded, so Ransom led you to the couch, sitting down with you. “I’ll be right back, okay?”, he mumbled quietly, putting a blanket around your shoulders.

Just like he promised, Ransom was back with a tea and cookies for you, sitting right next to you and pulling you into a hug. He didn’t ask anything. Just sitting with you, cuddling.

And that’s exactly what you needed.

Ransom was always very sweet-but still cocky, so it was a nice variety from the way he normally was, just holding you, not making any comments or anything…it was great, having him hold you close. Maybe you should give him the chance, he wanted so badly.

In the Morning Meg came down the stairs, seeing Ransom sleeping on the couch. Only when she walked around it she saw a small pile of blankets holding him close.

“Oh my god.”

Servamp Secret Santa 2023

Hey hey hey Servamp fandom, guess what time is it ? That's right, the Servamp Secret Santa 2023! You'll find the form at the end of the post, but first and foremost, let me remind you the infos and few rules we have.

Important informations / rules

For those of you who never did a secret santa, here's how it works : it's basically a gift exchange online. We're not buying anything, but we're making Servamp related gifts such as fanarts or fanfics (or edits, or else, whatever you can make) and sharing them online. In the form, you write your wishlist and your no-no, and I'll communicate it to your secret santa. This is the only informations I will share, along with your username. Don't worry, your email will be kept secret.

It's a secret santa, so please don't reveal who you have (you might know them on tumblr) until the gift reveal. If you really have questions about their wishlist, you can write to me and I'll find a way to assure the communication while keeping it anonymous.

To avoid people being late, there was this thing that I saw on another server for fanfic writers. Basically, it was a time limit of 2,000 words (so that people don't plan too long fics then don't finish). I won't put it as a strict word limit (mostly because I wrote a 5,000 words stuff last year–), but I'm still putting it as an advice.

You can make fanarts, fanfictions, or edits. This is mostly what people do in general.

Regarding your winter romcoms: just wanted to say you have truly IMPECCABLE taste in films (which is to say that we have the *same* movie taste), and it makes me love you/your art all the more. Any other suggestions? Ultimte favorite films? Do share!

HELLO, it has been a hot dang minute since I did one of these, and I'm pretty sure this question was dropped into my inbox closer to Christmas of 2022. So. Thank you very much for your kind words, anonymous, and apologies for the very long delay!

This is a fun question, though, so I really wanted to answer it eventually. Forgive the typos, grab your popcorn and your Red Vines (the best licorice-ish candy, I WILL FIGHT YOU no I won't but I love them), and let's go through my favorite comfort-watch movies. They're mostly rom-coms and coming-of-age movies for teens.

As a general caveat, I am not a big movie person at all. I know basically nothing about film. You will find no sensitive critique or analysis here. My favorite movies are all VIBES. I'm also not a big horror/thriller/bloody violence sort of person, so I don't watch many of those, which is weird because a goodly number of my dearest friends are horror film buffs. Also, I have made it a habit, in my adulthood, to go watch movies that I wasn't allowed to watch or didn't have access to as a kid. I'm a first-and-a-half generation immigrant to the United States, so my way of getting comfortable with American culture was to sort of approximate its vibes by absorbing its popular culture almost anthropologically? So in this post I'll maybe go over why I like it, and I might mention some of the things that have not aged super well because, as I'm sure you know, every single thing ever made cannot help being a product of the time it was made. I believe in being able to watch these things critically, enjoying them as they are, understanding that everybody's mileage may vary, and that not everything I like will be for everyone. I'm mostly including this bit because it's internet and people don't always know how to simply disengage with things they don't like.

In my Winter Movie post, I recommended The Holiday, When Harry Met Sally, Single All the Way, Moonstruck, and While You Were Sleeping, so I won't go over those again. Let's kick this off with something to help manage everybody's expectations.

The McG-directed Charlie's Angels movies, 2000 and 2003. Both of them.

I actually saw the second one first. It was one of the first PG-13 movies I ever saw in theatres, and it sort of just imprinted in my psyche, I think? They're just fun. They're real fuckin' fun. Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore have great onscreen chemistry, and the cheesy wire-fu sequences are so ham-fisted that they delight me. These movies know exactly what they are, and they're very up-front about being Movies, particularly the second one where every scene seems to have an Old Hollywood pastiche. The first one has a bit of very odd brownface moments that I did not love upon rewatch.

Singin' in the Rain, 1952

I saw this movie for the first time when I was in middle school, and I was absolutely obsessed. It was the very first time I realized that the movies had its own histories, and that there was a transition of culture when there was a change in technology. Also, I just loved watching Gene Kelly dance, for gay reasons. Plus, Rita Moreno is in it for a split second, and she's divine.

Clueless, 1995

This movie rules, I don't know what else to say. It's a fantastic Austen adaptation, and while I was too young to catch this in the 90s, it felt great catching up with this one as an adult. I think it also helped me contextualize what other kids were into in the 90s, so I retroactively feel less isolated from my peers. It's a weird sort of magic. It's also strange to me, in hindsight, that in 1995 there was an enormous hit teen movie where there is a gay character who is treated incredibly lovingly for the time? Like, no gay trauma, no homophobic bullying, no nothing. He's just there, and he gets folded into the rest of the story and remains important to the main character's life? I'd have loved that as a kid.

Shanghai Noon, 2000

The year 2000 was an incredible time for goofy action comedies, and this one was formative for me. It's extremely silly and embarrassing to admit, but this movie was the first time I learned about how Chinese railroad workers built the transcontinental railroads in the later 1800s. I first saw it as a rental from the local video store, and my parents let me watch it because my dad liked Jackie Chan movies. It's... very 2000 in its treatment of racial politics, but you could reasonably argue that not too much has changed since.

The Princess Bride, 1987

I don't need to explain this to anyone.

Four Weddings and a Funeral, 1994

God, you can see the accent on Hugh Grant's mouth. I don't know why I love this movie as much as I do. I came to it a bit later in my teen years, and I'd watch it again every few years. It's grown on me more and more as the years go on. It's the only British-American ensemble production that I really latched onto, and it's in no small part because the supporting cast is so much fun to watch.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, 1953

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I watch it probably three or four times a year. Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell star as two showgirls who embark on a cruise to France to work around the machinations of an old millionaire who refuses to let his son marry Monroe's character. It's got that iconic Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend number, and it has one of the best third-act thesis statement speeches I've ever heard in any era. It's a great old musical.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, 2008

This is a gem that I missed back in 2008 because I was graduating high school at the time and had other things going on (being queer at a Catholic high school in the 2000s sucked ass, btw, let this ol' geezer tell ya). Frances McDormand plays a conservative governess who can't hold down a job because she, being a preacher's daughter, is a morally upright Amelia Bedelia. Out of desperation, she scams her way into becoming the social secretary for a bubbly young actress played by Amy Adams, and they spend a wild and heartwarming day together where Frances McDormand's character navigates wartime, friendship, and romance. This is also the movie that made me develop an embarrassing crush on Lee Pace (not because Lee Pace is embarrassing, I just hate having crushes on famous actors because I know, at the end of the day, that they're just weird theatre kids who have money now). It's based on a novel written in 1938, and it's aged surprisingly well.

Sailor Moon SuperS, 1995

I borrowed the VHS for this movie from the library as often as I could in the second or third grade. It was the one movie I had memorized in my brain to the extent that I could just recite the dub to myself whenever I wanted. Plus, Chibi Moon was my favorite (do not @ me, I will fight you).

Waiting to Exhale, 1995

I don't know how I caught this one as a kid or which channel aired it, but Waiting to Exhale–starring Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, and Lela Rochon–was something I saw pieces of when I was way too young to understand any of it, and it was a joy to revisit it as an adult. I've since seen it a few times. This endlessly gif'd scene pictured above is every bit as cathartic as it looks, and the soundtrack is incredible.

The Mummy, 1999

Yeah yeah, this is an incredibly unsurprising and safe pick, but the movie is so much damn fun, and Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz have the most belligerently bisexual energy ever shared between a heterosexual pairing. I don't know how else to explain it.

Sister Act 2, 1993

I saw this one on TV a lot, and I watched it from top to bottom every single time. I don't think I've ever actually seen the first one.

Adventures in Babysitting, 1987

I found this movie incredibly delightful, and I'm pretty sure I watched it in adulthood because I was looking for this movie I'd only seen in bits and pieces on TV as a kid or something. It stars Elizabeth Shue and a very young Anthony Rapp. Plot-wise, it's very much like Lord of the Rings if Gandalf were a plucky teen girl and the hobbits were a bunch of literal children. I'm not kidding. It's also an 80s movie about a bunch of white suburbanites who have adventures in Chicago, so there are a couple cringey moments, but by the standards of its time, nothing wildly egregious. Bonus points for a surprise appearance by strapping young Vincent D'Onofrio.

Pretty in Pink, 1986, and Some Kind of Wonderful, 1987, double-feature.

I put these two together because they're the same movie, but gender-swapped. They're both written by John Hughes and directed by Howard Deutch, so they have the same very ineffectual Reagan-era flattening of class consciousness. They're about a poor girl/boy protagonist who falls in love with a rich boy/girl. The protagonist develops a richer relationship with their beleaguered father character and develop a better understanding of themselves, kind of. John Hughes teen comedy-dramas are significant, I think, because they're some of the first blockbuster teen movies that took teens and their feelings seriously, wrote from their perspectives, and courted teens as an audience (for all kinds of historical and economic reasons between the 70s and the 80s, I'm sure, but I'm no expert). They're also more watchable than some of the other John Hughes teen movies; Sixteen Candles is basically unwatchable to me.

Porco Rosso, 1992

I told myself I could only pick one Ghibli movie for this list, and this is it. Porco Rosso might be my favorite Ghibli movie, which might seem like an odd choice for me. Like a lot of millennials who were teens when Spirited Away came out, I got really into the Ghibli catalogue in the late 2000s but had seen some Ghibli movies much earlier in my life. My first was technically Grave of the Fireflies. I was eight, and came away with the notion that if I left my little brother alone, who was five at the time, the adults around us would just let him die, so I had to watch him as carefully as I could. I became an incredibly anxious and overbearing older brother very early. Next, I'd see the Buena Vista release of Kiki's Delivery service, so I have a soft spot for all the Sydney Forest pop songs they inserted in the 90s dub of that movie. By the time I watched Porco Rosso, I'd seen most of the rest of the Ghibli catalogue, but it really stood out to me. Most of Miyazaki's protagonists are girls, but this one is a kids' feature about a middle-aged man with a pig's head. In hindsight, I think I loved it because it is one of those rare children's narratives that conflates femininity with practicality and masculinity with frivolous ostentatiousness. It's worth a watch!

Say Anything... , 1989

This is one of those teen movies where they take small, mundane problems and make them enormous, which I sort of love as a storytelling tool. John Cusack plays Lloyd, a high school underachiever who falls in love with the valedictorian, and you watch him experience true internal motivation for the first time in his young life. It's very cute! I think the thing this sort of teen movie gets really right about being a teenager is you don't really have a sense of scale for your problems at that age because all your problems are just problems you're encountering for largely the first time. Ione Skye's valedictorian character experiences a pretty devastating family issue with her father, but it's flattened into the same strata as her anxiety about flying, her first breakup, and her feelings of isolation and remove from her peers. Plus Lili Taylor is in this as Lloyd's best friend character, and she's great, just like in the next movie on this list...

Mystic Pizza, 1988

I couldn't decide which gif I wanted to use for this movie, so I just picked two. It's another slice-of-life teen comedy-drama, and it's real cozy. The performances from all the young actors are fantastic. Lili Taylor, Annabeth Gish, and Julia Roberts are great in this, plus you get to see strapping young Vincent D'Onofrio again, which is a treat. He gets to do a lot more in this one. At this point it's worth noting that 80s teen movies are obsessed with romances among young people across different social strata, and true to the Reagan era, the movies like to impress upon its audiences that hating rich people is the same as hating poor people (cue heavy eyeroll). This honestly explains a lot of things to me about today's political discourses, I think.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before, 2018

I enjoyed this Netflix movie so much that I watched it 16 or 17 times in the month after its release. It's fine, I'm fine. I don't know exactly what it was. I love rom coms. I've seen a ton of high school romance movies, and this one hit me really hard for some reason.

And that's everything I could come up with off the very top of my head. I think I hit something like 20 movies up there? Whew! That's my evening, but it was the only thing I could focus on for more than an hour at a time today.

This is actually a great double feature to my last post which was specifically about comforting their partner on their period. Kazuma Kiryu

He understands all too well what it's like to feel down and out. Having said that, Kiryu won't try to cheer you up right away or distract you as he believes getting to the bottom of what's bothering you is more important. Regardless of it's a rough day at work or if someone made a rude remark at you, he wants to hear you out. He is THE best listener, he never interrupts.

His very first action always is to give you a long, warm hug. How often Kiryu wishes he could've been held during his darkest and toughest moments, so now he pays that forward to others who need it. If you cry, he'll tell you it's okay and to let it all out.

Now that you've gotten that all out, it's time for him to cheer you up. Nothing makes Kiryu feel better more than a hearty meal so he'll offer to get food at your favorite place, his treat. If you'd rather stay home, then he'll do his best to cook something up for you. Maybe Haruka and the other kids at Morning Glory will get in on it and clamber to help him out in the kitchen, which you can't help but smile at. You're truly surrounded by loving and caring people.

Majima Goro

Now, if the issue was caused by someone else, his first reaction will be to go give them a nice talking to a.k.a. kicking them really hard. If you're down with that, he will actually go do it but if you're not, he'll grumble and say "Fiiine... only 'cuz you said not to."

Eventually, his thoughts will turn to finding ways to make you smile. Majima is a bit more of a "forget your troubles" guy, sometimes more than he'd like to admit. If there's nothing particular that you want, then he'll just start trying things until you crack a smile at his earnest attempts, to which he'll say "Ah, there's that adorable smile!" before giving you a hug and a kiss.

If you cry, Majima will actually become quite serious. More than anyone, he's felt so many times in his life like he was on the verge of tears but he's always held them back. He'll drop everything to comfort you through the tears, quietly reminding you to take deep breaths and just holding you until it's over.

Akiyama Shun

He believes rest is the ultimate medicine, especially when you're feeling bad. Nothing works wonders more than a warm shower and a nice, long sleep. Granted, he is the king of being exhausted so maybe he's projecting just a little bit here.

As goofy as Akiyama can be, he's pretty good at hearing you out. However, he might be somewhat oblivious and slow to notice you're not feeling your best. Once he realizes it, he'll apologize for not noticing sooner and ask what he can do to help.

If some alone time is what you need, he's absolutely not offended. Akiyama knows when to back off and won't pester you and ask if you're sure you want to be alone. He trusts your intuition on that and won't put his ego before your feelings. After all, to him, that is the very meaning of loving someone else.

Saejima Taiga

Out of all the boys, he's going to feel the worst when he sees you're feeling down. Some part of him just feels bad that he wasn't able to prevent whatever it was that hurt or upset you. Saejima has major protective vibes and he'll always wonder if he could be doing more.

In the end, making sure you're okay is more important to him. Saejima is pretty mature and he'll be able to push through those weird self doubting feelings in his own time. He'll gently hold you but won't pressure you to tell him what happened. If you want to, he'll listen intently although he may not always know what to say in response, especially if you want advice, as he doesn't think his life experiences necessarily line up with most people.

Definitely the type of guy to say things like "I'm here for you, okay?" and really mean it. If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, Saejima is your guy. After all, he has giant shoulders.

Tanimura Masayoshi

His life experiences have made him very empathetic and he will be able to really connect with you if you talk about your problems verbally. Where he struggles is if you don't talk about it because he doesn't want to force it but also doesn't really know what to do unless he has some direction to go in.

If you don't want to talk about it, he'll just sit next to you in silence. He doesn't want to just fill the space with his words, so instead he'll just lean his head against yours, taking deep breaths with you. Tanimura will stay for as long as you need, just so you know that you're not alone in this.

He's down to get some food at Homeland once you feel ready to get back up and out there. Tanimura is very food oriented and nothing makes him feel better than a nice meal, especially since Zhao and Mei Hua are always so welcoming and kind. He has a very infectious smile and he notices that you light up a bit when he smiles, so he'll try to do something fun with you like eat food or maybe play a video game at his place. By the end of the night, you'll both be grinning ear to ear.

Ryuji Goda

Secretly, he's also a "Show me who upset you and I'll give them a real nice talking to" type of guy but he's better at keeping that under wraps than Majima is. Of course, if it's not a particular person bothering you, that's where he stumbles a bit. He's never been great at just talking about things, like giving advice.

He'll refute any thoughts of self doubt you have. Did someone make fun of your hair? "They were probably bald 'n ugly themselves anyways, the hell would they know?". Do you feel self conscious about your weight? "I'll have you know that yer damn perfect as ya are." Ryuji loves you for you, for better and for worse, so what he lacks in advice or long talk sessions he makes up for with pep talks.

He's the type of man to kiss your forehead and ruffle your hair while holding a box of tissues while you cry. Ryuji rarely if ever felt safe crying in front of others before and honestly wishes he had spaces like that when he was younger, so he takes care to make sure that you feel completely safe in letting those feelings out if you need to.

Nishikiyama Akira

King of self care. Self care is the solution to everything. Nothing makes it all better like looking AND feeling good. It might sound shallow but Nishiki tries to make it fun in some ways, like getting face masks with silly colors or faces printed on them.

Out of all of the boys, he's best at gossip. If you're someone who wants to go on a long rant about all the stuff bugging you, he's all ears. If someone in particular is bugging you, he'll interject with "Oh, she did NOT" or "They did WHAT?" every so often.

He won't ever get violent. He might feel frustrated that he can't really do more than just hear you out or distract you with something silly but that won't stop him from trying at least. If you have suggestions or things you want, he's all ears though.

Daigo Dojima

The gentlest boy there ever was. He's the most perceptive of all the boys, able to immediately spot if his partner is feeling off that day. He'll always ask you about it in private, making sure to never embarrass you, softly asking "Honey, are you alright?"

If you're at a work related function and it's obvious that you're overwhelmed, Daigo will excuse you both from the event early and bring you home so you can have a safe place to decompress. When he's at work and if he knows you've been having a bad day, he'll call from his office and say "Hey honey, I just wanted to see how you were feeling". He makes himself as available as possible, always looking out for your welfare.

Daigo is really in tune with your needs and quite attentive to the things that make you happy, the things that bother you, and the like. When you're having a bad day, you'll hardly have to ask for a thing. If you're a stay at home and lay in bed all day person, he'll bring your favorite drink in and sit on the bedside while listening to you talk. If you'd rather go out, just say the word and he'll be out front with his private car ready to go wherever you want as soon as he can slip away from work.

Mine Yoshitaka

He often feels helpless in situations like this. If it were up to him, every day would be the best day possible for you. He doesn't necessarily feel like a failure but he definitely feels your pain and sadness, wishing he could just magically make it all go away.

His best skill is reassuring you. If you ask if you're actually good at something, the answer is yes. If you feel like you're failing at something new, he'll say something like "The important thing is that you're trying, and I admire that about you". He's very steady in supporting you with things like chasing your dreams, no matter how hard the road may be.

He's probably the most practical when it comes to interpersonal issues, likely a direct result of his type of work. He's good at helping you iron out tough situations, like an awkward conversation with a friend. His deep understanding of you combined with his solid reasoning skills allows him to give you a pretty good outside perspective on those kinds of situations, provided you want him to of course. Mine wouldn't offer you advice without asking if you wanted it first. Also the type of guy to wipe away your tears for you.

General Guidelines For New Users

(this is an ongoing list of just things I compiled from other blogs, so if you have anything else to add, let me know and I'll put them here)

Reblogs are everything. While in other platforms, likes help the algorithm find good posts to put on your recommended and stuff, here it doesn't really happen. So the only way for people to get recognition for their posts is to reblog them. So even if you have very few followers or whatever, reblog!!

Don't add your thoughts, comments, etc. directly onto someone else's post when reblogging, unless you're sure they're okay with it. Instead, just add your comments to the tags, or if you have something else to say about that discussion, either make your own post relating to it or ask first if you can add to the discussion. AKA:

This one seems pretty self-explanatory, but since some people still don't get it: don't go being a dick on someone's blog/in their inbox. Seriously, if you're even thinking about sending someone death threats, hate, or whatever, just don't. Find something better to do with your time, cause that's just not it.

Tags serve multiple purposes here: we use them to rant or add on thoughts sometimes, but also to just generally organise your blog. For example, I tag everything I write with #libby writes, that way if you're just looking for my fics, you can search my blog for that tag and it'll all show up, tagging makes it easier for you to find what you want in blogs. Tags also work as a way for others to blacklist content, for example, if you haven't watched a movie yet but everyone's talking about it, you can just blacklist content related to that movie and it'll all be hidden/show up with a disclaimer that it contains content you blacklisted until you take away the restriction.

Don't keep the default Tumblr images cause people will think you're a bot. You can change it to something as random as a Google picture of a park bench, as long as it isn't the Tumblr default picture cause most people have a tendency to block those. Just take the time to personalise your blog a little bit.

Don't be impatient when it comes to asks. Some blogs, especially the bigger ones, get dozens of asks a day, so don't be impatient or get mad if they didn't answer yours. At the end of the day, it's their blog, they decide what to post and what not to, and people have lives outside of Tumblr so they won't always have time to answer.

If you don't like something, don't interact with it, it's as simple as that.

Don't press people for information about themselves. Tumblr thrives on anonymity, so if people want to share, they do, but if they don't, you need to respect that. This isn't like Twitter where everyone has their names, age, picture, address, social security number or whatever on their accounts. Here, if you want to be faceless and nameless, you can, and that should always be respected.

Those are the ones I remember at the moment, but like I said, this can change and be lengthened as time goes on, but I hope it helped all you new users get a better idea as to how this works!

ehhhhh i have mixed feelings about it. i've talked about it in the discord a bit, and i still stand by what i said for the most part about the foreshadowing (or lack thereof cough cough) and pacing being kind of not good.

(long rant ahead!)

this point has been done to death by basically everyone in the stikbot fandom, but i'll say it again: the original off the grid was so popular because it was aimed at a much older audience. it took itself seriously for the most part, even if it was kind of corny sometimes, and the story was thought out and interesting! being created by moonshine animations also helped, i'm sure. nightmare doesn't have the same vibe because i do believe it was heavily sanitized to appeal to that sweet sweet "7 and under" demographic.

im not gonna lie the story is weaksauce. i love that the nightmare realm is being explored, but it almost feels like the new series isn't doing it justice, y'know? its as if they're trying to cram so much into just 22 minutes of animation that the entire thing loses so so much quality. and its honestly not really interesting, either. sanitation strikes again, making the dialogue and characters feel like happy meal toys compared to the og. the stakes are nonexistent because EVERYONE knows that nothing bad is ever going to happen to striker, and the new monsters don't feel like a threat. they feel like a joke! i get the vibe that the story was still on the first draft in the meeting room and the team just said "fuck it, that's what we're going with."

im personally biased against the new VA's because im an og fan 4 life, but i do think they're alright ngl. the animation is noticeably choppier, but im not going to really drag that point out. i never expected it to be as good as the og, so i don't really care, but it'd feel wrong to not at least mention. im mostly just pissed that they massacred my boys like this through the lackluster plot and writing. nightmare had the chance to be soso good and they fucked it up!!! rahh!!!!

hard to say. if i could go back in time and somehow rewrite otg:n, i would have turned it into an epilogue story set years into the future, with a new cast and plot, with a changed world that is obviously still the stikbot universe and story we all know and love. (or. y'know. ACTUALLY CREATE THE GREAT STIKBOT WAR PREQUEL YOU PROMISED US AND THEN NEVER DELIVERED ON. @/STIKBOTCENTRAL. ahem. that is a rant for another day.)

as much as i want to, obviously i can't go back and right the wrongs of the past, so what now? i think stikbot needs another series aimed at an older audience. they're obviously trying to milk OTG for all it's worth, and that grittier vibe was what made it a success. but i do think it's time we officially retire OTG. it was fun, but we need something fresh and new! with literally everything else on the stikbot central channel being baby proof tho, i don't really see that happening unless they really change up the writers room over at stikbot central headquarters. moonshine carried the entire series fr and we need someone else like him who actually knows how to write a good kids show @ zing like. right now. its dire.

🌻 What makes you want to give up on writing? What makes you keep going?

This is a really good question. I think the only thing that makes me want to give up on writing lately is lack of genuine community and interaction. I don't mean this way other people may typically mean it either. I think you all know how I feel about comments, kudos, likes, reblogs, etc.--they're lovely but they are bonuses to me in regards to writing. I don't need those things to stay motivated and I will never tell readers how they need to interact with my stories, nor will I ever demand that they do XYZ in order for their love to be valid.

However, I have noticed recently that everybody's interactions with fics has dipped down within the last year, not just on tumblr but on AO3 too. A lot of people just like things and move on and that's it and nothing else. You're always tossing your works out into the ether when you write and post, but it doesn't necessarily feel great to see people sifting through your works and clearly liking them but they never drop a thanks or mention anything else about the work otherwise. It kind of makes you feel like a content machine and you're like "oh, okay, thank you! 🧍🏻‍♀️" to nothing or no one in particular because you don't get anything else from that kind of interaction.

This isn't fandom specific either, it's across the board. I think fandom/fanfic landscape and how people interact within fandoms across the board has changed a lot because people do not commune anymore. We all got into this because we share a common interest, but these days everyone just kind of keeps to themselves and I truly wish we all wore our hearts on our sleeves a bit more. I get both sides of it! But fandoms are about community, and community means nothing if we're all isolated. It used to be a lot more of a give and take between readers and authors where people could thoughtfully engage in conversations, and these days I don't really see that as much as before. I'm sure there are various (many very valid) reasons as to why, but I think what I'm saying is I miss the sense of community. It's no one's fault either so I don't want to make it seem like I'm blaming anyone in particular. I think it's just the way things are these days because fandom culture itself has changed and it makes me a bit sad is all. It's definitely one of the reasons why I often think about and talk about retiring from writing.

But on a positive note, what does keep me going is my personal love for writing, and then moments like this, no Kelly Clarkson! When I recognize frequent names and realize there are some readers who I've spoken to for years that are still speaking to me now, it brings me a lot of joy. Those connections are so lovely, and I value it a lot. ❤️ Those two things are what keeps me going.

I just noticed this ask in my inbox. I'm so sorry. I don't check desktop tumblr that much anymore and asks get so easily lost on the app. I hope it's okay I'm answering right now :)

My top 5 favorite characters are: Arthur, Merlin, Gwen, Morgana, and Lancelot.

Arthur is the character I relate to the most in the show. just a bisexual disaster who can't handle emotions and always puts too much pressure on himself. Also, despite being born privileged and growing up sheltered, he always tries to be better and he listens to others and I love him for it.

Merlin. I mean who can't love Merlin? He deserves the world honestly. Above all, I love him for how good he chooses to be. He has all this power to do anything he wants. He could literally be a god, but he chooses to stay in camelot in constant danger and protect his friends and try to build a better world.

Gwen means so much to me as a character, especially in the early seasons. most of my favorite quotes from the show are hers. you have no idea how many times "worry is not a wise counsel. forget everything else. you have to follow what you believe is right" saved me from falling into an anxiety spiral. she will always have a special place in my heart.

Morgana, well, what can I say about her that's not already obvious lol. to me, she represents all the rage all of us develop growing up at seeing unfairness in the world. and while she lets her hatred of it consume her and make her bitter, instead of trying to cling the tiniest bits of love that you can find in it, like merlin did, I still love her anger and relate to it. in the end, she did do what she believed was right and damned the consequences and I think there's something to be said about her fighting for what she believed to be right until the very end.

Lancelot, well, Gwen and Lancelot's story has always been one of my favorites since I was a kid. I've always liked Lancelot more than Arthur ironically lol so I liked him the moment he showed up. He's still my favorite knight and his story in the show is just so tragic and I have a thing for tragic characters in general.

I yammered on a lot about my favorite characters so I'll keep my favorite moments brief. I'll try not to make them shipping specific!

hello everyone !!

it's been a good month and a bit since i've opened this blog. i've made a silent escape, yes, for much more time than usual, this time with a different reason:

i've completely burned out, from requests, from enstars, entirely.

there is little energy left in me for this fandom after a good year. it has been feeling more like a task rather than what i did for fun—more demand, more to do. i don't want to seem ungrateful, because i'm much more fortunate than some others in this regard, but the more demand, the less give-back—something-something, homework.

nevertheless, this community has done a lot for me !! as a person, as a writer, as everything. i'm grateful for all the kindness and friends i've met along the way. all the sweet comments and memories truly left an imprint on me, and i'm not exaggerating when i say that this experience shaped me positively. this blog sprung up in a very unfortunate time, and was my source of happiness for a much longer one. while i wish that things didn't turn out like this, you can't change the flow of time. it is what it is. i do think back on a lot of things with happiness, but if i were to go on like this, close my eyes and push through, i'd veil those happy times in dread and dissatisfaction.

now, this does not mean that i'm throwing this blog to the dogs and leaving, no. it's a place of many fond memories and i would die before losing it. many things that my friends and everyone helped me build, a little space of fantasy and comfort. i wouldn't trade this for anything, so—i won't be deleting it, and i'm not putting a definite no on writing here, because i may just come back with a little something-something every now and then.

i want to close this chapter peacefully, as bittersweet as it is, as many things i have laying around, as many more things i was looking forward to doing with everyone. this message will be put in my pinned comment until further notice, and i'll stick around for a little longer, to answer what i have in my inbox, and maybe what's to come in the next couple days.

the future is still uncertain—i may change my mind, i may come back with something else entirely, or i may not come back at all. nothing is certain, but i hope for a good outcome to this. and i hope that this decision is something that you can accept.

Introduction!

Hi!!! I'm Taylor, she/her. I've seen some of these going around and figured I should make one to pin, especially since I have a bunch of new folks around!

This is primarily a pokemon anime blog that tends to center around the gen 3 anime/ Hoenn Coordinators, though I have knowledge on pretty much every season, though the least on unova and sun/moon! I'm big on Contestshipping but I'm chill with pretty much everything else too. That being said I also reblog random shit a lot. I'm also big into ATLA (any zuki shippers here? no? Just me and my comics? ok), Korra, The Legend of Zelda, and I have a lot of leftover dormant knowledge on warrior cats/wings of fire/percy jackson from middle school-ish if y'all want to talk about that, and I had a homestuck phase though I could barely tell you anything about it honestly.

My DMs are always open but I usually take a long time to get around to them. My askbox is also always open and I ADORE getting asks about pretty much anything! Right now I have a couple taylor swift anons (suprising amount of you guys!) and contestshipping anons, but I've had webkinz killer anon, harley's ass anon, and a bunch of other random stuff that makes me very happy. Free infodump spot in my inbox!!!!! They also take a while to be answered sometimes because I like to get in-depth and really answer stuff to the best of my ability, and I'm somewhat long-winded, but all asks WILL be answered! Just not always very soon.

I also do art sometimes! In terms of art style, we have none of that. I'll put some of my best stuff below the cut though! I'm best at landscape art but dabble in everything a little bit.

I have an Ao3 but barely update it. I'm always writing, but never finishing. Same username over there but right now it's mostly shitpost fics like goncharov and #sanssweep reigen stuff with two pokemon things thrown in. Hopefully I'll put some good stuff over there soon! Until then I post wips here sometimes.

I have a question about collecting…. how do you determine what a “good price” is for something? I’m completely lost and everything seems so expensive and I just don’t know. Help!!

This is a great question! My vague answer is going to be "if it seems to expensive for you, don't buy it." You have to go with your gut on what a good price is to you.

but to go a little more in depth, I'll go through my process. Let's say I want to buy... a France Azone Asterisk Doll. My first step is to figure out the retail price of whatever item I'm looking for. I normally check myfigurecollection.net for this kind of thing.

There, I learn that when it came out in 2018 the retail price was 13,000 Yen, or about $120. Obviously, I'd like to get it for this price or cheaper, but logically I know that these dolls are never going to be released again, so they have a bit of rarity associated with them. The Azone dolls are also much better unopened, so I have to be especially careful when looking at used models (I cut Japan's hair the moment I opened it, so you never know).

For me personally, I can't justify paying more than $150 for an Azone doll, so that's what I look for. For you, you might be fine paying $175 (don't go any higher than that). For most things I try to pay no more than retail price + half as a general rule.

Products that are currently coming out are a little different, like Nendoroids and Pop Up Parade Figures (to name a few things). For these I'm always searching for the lowest price possible (+ shipping). In some cases I've found that preordering an item on CD Japan and paying for shipping to America is actually a little less expensive than ordering from Goodsmile USA. It really depends on how strong the Yen is and stuff like that, so I always check like 4 different sites before I actually order anything.

If you miss the preorder period on something, spring for Goodsmile USA when it releases, or AmiAmi sometimes has extra stock(more reliably than CD Japan), but you really have to jump on it before resellers get their hands on it.

I'm probably the last person who follows this blog to found out it's discontinued but I just wanted to say I'll miss it. I enjoyed the journey and the story. Even if I was a bit, or probably "bit", scared to participate much. I wish I knew sooner so that I could bid you guys farewell and safe travels and all that fun stuff with everyone else, but instead you guys are probably all packed up and ready to go and you guys are just finalizing everything and finishing up the final responses to questions like these.

I truly do wish you guys the best of luck with... whatever you guys plan to do next. What are your guys' plans now that this isn't giving unnecessary stress?

Also why do I feel like, throughout the entire story and even now, the a could just be screaming from all the chaos? Seriously I kind of just felt like it would make sense. Like all the newbies freaking out and all the characters just walking freely or something and the people the have been working there for a long time sip on some coffee or similar beverage and do paperwork like it's an average Tuesday.

Sorry if it's long. I just wanted to get everything out since I'm making this on October 30th and it felt like a "speak now or forever hold your peace" thing. ^^'

We genuinely did like the story that we had come up with, so I might give a summary of each of the acts tomorrow as a sendoff before the final post. I actually have written out parts of the CCC(a) plot or generally things about it in my free time, such as a creepy instructional type piece, and I'll likely continue to do so.

None of us have any concrete plans for things to do, at least content-wise (I mean, it's been two years, some of the mods are in college or are in the midst of applying, so those are their plans). We still write stories all the time, coming up with new things every day. It's one of the ways we bond. There is the desire to make a webcomic, but the problem is that we're mostly writers rather than artists. I'd say "feel free to ask about them", but it would take ages to even give brief descriptions of all of your options, no matter how much we'd love to talk about them. If you really want to hear about some of them, hit me up at @owo-whats-bliss , since I kind of have a lot of it saved in my brain.

The A in CCC(a) didn’t stand for anything, and I can't remember why we chose "A" in the first place (it was merely to differentiate the canon CCC). I did occasionally put "the A in CCC(a) stands for AAAAAAAA" as the blog description, so I think your interpretation holds weight. There were horror elements, after all.

Thanks for your kind words. This blog did so much for me, helping me form bonds with others, learn how to manage stress and, to a lesser extent, manage a small team. I ended up being a sort of manager/errand boy by accident. It did a lot for all of us, even if, in the end, all it did was bring us together. I'm grateful for how my life has changed because of this.

Regarding Anya's death in main canon:

In principle, last time I received an answer about the death and resurrection of Anya, and in general I am satisfied, but I am about the logic of your au. In one post on Instagram, you said this:

So why didn't it work with Anya? After all, Edd, Tom, Matt and Tord, as well as Amanda (sort of) and Roxxi also died and resurrected as if nothing had happened, but why didn't it work with Anya? According to this logic, she should have resurrected immediately after death and everything would have been as if nothing had happened.

(And although you can not answer this question, I understand if it pisses you off)

Now about the characters:

Tobi:

I have already received an answer about his meeting with alternative versions of Anya, the relationship between Tord, and the answer to the question why he has only one horn pleased me, thank you very much, I immediately liked this glorious marshmallow just like Anya. What I wanted to ask is: was Tord able to use it in an experiment to create a bioweapon? If so, what would Tobi look like if he was a monster? Can Tobi speak Russian like Anya?

I have been asking this question for a long time, and have long wanted to ask about this. Why didn't Jenny replace Tobi's mom, since I thought since Anya and Jenny are friends, the latter could be Tobi's mom's replacement. I also know that in the ay from your friend, Jenny was Tord's wife, so why did Tord decide to be alone and not with Jenny after Anya's death?

(Hmm, my questions are stupid, forgive me...)

Now I want a little bit about your concept "Monster Anya" (I just really liked this concept, forgive me...)

I know about this concept, and when I received your answers to the question about bringing Anya back, I am grateful to you, thank you very much. I'm interested in something else; Tord first separated Anya from Tobi to give her the serum? I'm also interested in the process of turning Anya into a monster. What was he like? Painful? Highly? Do you have drawings of what it would look like?

I also wonder how Jenny would react when she finds out that Anya has turned into a monster? You said that Tord took Tobi with him when he visited Anya. About how old, or did he take Tobi even when he was a baby? If so, how did Toby behave when he first saw Anya?

I also wanted to ask about Penny:

I already know the answer to why Tobi can't be with her and I'm happy with the answer. But I want to ask about this concept specifically. I know that Toby is even more isolated than in canon and he can't meet his "potential friends" and he is completely dependent on his father and Penny, but how is Toby's relationship with her? Is she mad at Tord for what he did?

And the last question:

As far as I know the concept "Monster Anya" is not used, can I borrow it? Please... I'll just take a few details from there... I sort of have my own AU, but I never came up with a canon for it, I have a few details similar to your AU (my kids have similar names, and i have same combinations with ships (Anya and Tord too)), but I'm not going to copy your au, I just got such coincidences at the very beginning ....

Ooof sorry it's taken me so long to answer this one, I was cleaning out my inbox n found it again.

So to answer your questions-

To start off with, that was a joke about the shows canon of people not seeming to stay dead, which is different from Au canon which can be anything.

Monster Tobi and Russian:

Yes Tobi can speak Russian, to be specific, he can speak a few languages bc it was apart of his studies to know Russian, German, English, Norwegian and Dutch.

Why didn't Jenny Replace Anya:

Honestly, Tord completely forgot about Jenny being Anyas friend in main canon. Anya never liked talking about herself, and would only mention Jenny a few times, despite missing her a lot, so Tord never gave her much thought.

And while Jenny would have be an amazing choice, she wouldn't be too happy with him after learning how he treated Anya, but would stick around to make sure Tobi was okay.

Tord DID try to get with other women a few times so Tobi would have a mother, but a lot of the time Tobi would get fussy with them, and Tord would think he didn't like them, so eventually he stopped. In reality it was just an infant getting nervous around strangers, but Tord doesn't know jack-shit about kids.

Also, in Aus like Third Wife or Happy Family, Jenny is very defensive of Anya, and the two remain good friends, Jenny helping Anya be more confident, seeing as she's not afraid of Tords lil power trip tantrums.

Monster Anya Concept:

In that Au, Anya returned to Tord willingly about a year after giving birth, and things were okay for awhile between them. But bc Anya was still understandably upset with him and acting colder than he would have liked, he began to become paranoid, and that's when he got the idea to use the monster serum on her.

The serum was injected into her while she was sleeping, and was a veeerrry painful way to be woken up. Infact it felt like her skin was melting and her bones were stretching as she transformed.

I don't have any drawings bc I'm not very good at body horror, but it wouldn't have been pleasant.

Also, Jenny would have been SERIOUSLY enraged if she ever found out what Tord did, however she was never reassigned to be stationed in Britain, so she never would have found out.

Penny and Tobi:

Penny doesn't know about what Tord did you Anya, if she ever found out you better believe she's going to start plotting his death for it. Since Tobi is very dependent on her, she's even more protective than in the normal au, since the kid's been isolated to such a cruel degree.

Is the concept up for grabs?

Yes, yes it is. Ive said before I don't mind if people use my au concepts so long as they credit me for the concepts and the characterizations, since I put work into figuring out how their personalities are and everything. But overall, if someone wants to use an Au, y'all are free to do it, I luv seeing people interact and it's fun.

I get some music being very all over! I know some music can be super overwhelming. Like heavy metal? Very overwhelming.

If tomorrow it was told that you were to be gone, what would you do. You can give multiple answers if you want if you just can't decide.

My personal answer would be to just live it out. Say my goodbyes sure but live my life regularly. Maybe I'll go all out but mainly just living life. Because that's what I do the best at!

if i had 24 hours to live... let's say 9AM-9AM the next day.

i'd wake up at my usual time: 8:30am i'd shower. drink some caffiene get that shit outta the way so the day will at least start on a positive note. i would probably try and eat at all my favorite places. these names won't make sense to anyone who hasn't lived in my hometown, but that's okay.

bill's cafe for breakfast- they have cream cheese bagels that they serve with eggs benedict and smoked salmon. goddamn.

india garden for lunch- chicken tikka masala with naan bread, and mango lassi to drink. goddamn.

either between the two meals or just after lunch, i'd head to my parents place and... either apologize for not being who they wanted me to be, or egg their house. depends on how vindictive i am the day of. i have a complicated relationship with them, so...

either way, i know for a fact that i would straight up tell my mom she should have been kinder to me. because she should have been.

then i'd go to meadowlark dairy for ice cream. they have a orange/vanilla swirl that kicks ass.

after that, i'd drive to monterey bay. check out the shops, have some salt water taffy, get to the docks for an early dinner of clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl... my favorite meal. bonus points if i can track down that one restaurant that serves them with strawberry daiquiris.

i'd walk to the beach afterwards, maybe enter into the ocean to feel it for one last time. after that, i'd sit down on the sand and get to work.

i'd go on discord, message all my friends, tell them how i really felt about them. i'd tell them how much i loved them. i'd dedicate as many paragraphs as i could to them as the timer clicked down. i'd probably watch the sunset on the beach if the timing was right. chances are, i'd be crying while doing that last part. if i knew i was dying, i don't think i'd have the courage to look my friends in the eye while i told them emotional things.

when it would be too cold at the beach- anyone who's been there after sunset knows the temperature drops quickly- i'd probably see if i could find somewhere open late that serves hot chocolate. i'd keep walking around til late at night.

after that, i'd find somewhere warm to sit and call my godfather. my godfather is someone who survived cancer twice. he knows a lot about close brushes with death, and there's no one else i'd want at my side while i grieve.

i know under the circumstances, he would stay up with me all night. we would talk about everything, and anything, and nothing at all. maybe he'd keep me company until the sun rises the next day.

after the sun is up, but before 9AM, i'd head back down to the beach with a bottle of strawberry moscato. i'd savor the taste, finish the bottle, and close my eyes. maybe i'd fall asleep so i wouldn't see it coming.

i'd die listening to the waves and feeling the sun on my skin. that'd be a nice way to go out.
