Several years ago, I went to a diversity conference. It was held at a college campus in a sprawling building that had weird half-floors, where you go down a half flight of stairs to get to the next floor.

There was 1 elevator. There was 1 single-stall bathroom (not even all-gender), and it was nowhere near the elevator.

Time between break-out sessions was 10 minutes. I was repeatedly late to sessions because there was not enough time for me to hobble to the elevator, take it to the floor with the bathroom, use the bathroom, and hobble to the next classroom for the next break-out session. At one point, I got lost trying to find a ramp because the elevator literally didn't stop at that half-floor.

Event organizers, please take time to think about things like this. Your event is not "accessible" just because there is an elevator in the building.

I was walking Home from school, down a hill, watching Minecraft videos on my phone (as one does) when I tripped and instead of actually, you know. Catching myself, I smacked on the asphalt with the top of my hands. A wonder that I didn’t manage to break my wrist with that stunt honestly. My phone did survive however, so I guess I take the big ass scar on back of my hand in exchange 😭😭

ok i feel that. the one time i broke a bone (in my wrist) it was during tabletennis practice while practising w my doubles partner. i tripped on a ball (there were a bunch of them around bc we were doing a specific thing that i wont even go into explaining bc its not that relevant but just please know i didnt trip on the Only Ball that was rolling around in a 20 mile radius im not that bad) and fell and i didnt want to let go of my racket and risk damaging it so i put down my left hand in a HORRIBLE position instead. and broke it w the impact. core memory.
