hello neighbors! the new welcome home update just released and i hopped on in immediately—i made a post about it literally 10 minutes ago. since then, i’ve already found MORE and MORE content!! thus, to share this information with the fandom and also help others find how to access some of this information (of which nobody else has really posted about yet AT THE MOMENT I AM TYPING THIS) i’ve decided to create a big update masterlist of everything me and others have found it this update it will be updated regularly and will be pinned on my acc! happy findings! side note—it appears all the main glitchy videos with the voice actors can be found by clicking on the numerous bugs around the site! SIDE side notes—i don’t use a computer to access welcome home, so maybe there is a way to do this on a computer. on the front page wayyyyy at the bottom near the count of how many people have visited the site, there’s a beetle i cant click on that just SCREAMS “click me!” PLEASE someone click it because it will not be me
the spider — found on the top right of the “stickers” page, this video goes through a conversation between barnaby & julie, with julie saying really bad jokes in attempt to be funny (she’s is but she isn’t at the same time! i love corny jokes so she’s funny in my eyes). also, something i’ve noticed throughout these videos appears to be that wally is in many, if not all of them. he’s just nonverbal and does not speak. at ALL. but he is in them. barnaby actively talks to a person beside from julie, and at the end, julie says a sentence that ends with “… wasn’t it wally?” asking for his opinion. BUT BUT BUT the video cuts and glitches off as soon as she says wally! it’s very similar to how all these videos end!!
the praying mantis — found at the bottom of the “about us” page, clicking on a little preying mantis will lead you to a video of sally and julie rehearsing for a play! idk if it has any deep meaning yet (besides the random deep voice at the end) but it’s so silly!!!! like julie is so silly i love her!!!! (TW minor glitching and weird deep voice at end which is sorta a pattern in the vids)
the fly — found on the page titled “welcome home” and can be accessed by clicking on a fly that appears on screen. this video depicts frank and barnaby’s voices, discussing frank’s flowers in his garden. the video itself shows what appears to be a smashed orange/pumpkin thing in a woodsy area, as (what i think looks like) a face looms in the background (TW sorta loud noises and glitching!

yellow flower — depicts wally asking the listener “what are you waiting for? to hear from me again? hahaha! that means you can hear me.” , as a heartbeat noise is heard in the background (it’s not as creepy as it sounds i promise)
red and blue flowers — wally saying; “that’s what an eye looks like. my eyes are black. what color are yours?” as a heartbeat noise plays in the background
house scribble — found DIRECTLY on the front page like as soon as you enter the site. wally says; “there you are! welcome home! hahaha” he’s so silly imo
the star — found on the stickers page by clicking the star scribble. this one kinda scared me a LITTLE with what was happening on screen but wally says: “do you like to draw? i do. do you know how to draw an eye? first, you draw a circle. then, you draw a smaller circle inside. then, you color it in.” this one’s really cool go watch it and you’ll see!

in the “spider” video, julie says to barnaby that her joke will “knock your [barnaby’s] head off!” which is funny, but not the haha way. because there is art made by clown illustrations of barnaby, who’s head is rolled on the floor

I’m sorry but scummy scara has been living in my head rent free and I’m always checking your blog to see if you’ve posted more about him alsjshsk.
Here’s some of my brainrot about him:
✩ he once noticed you forgot to eat a few times and now he’s insisted on making lunch for you a few times a week! (Ei’s very shocked to find him in the kitchen with one of her cook books open but after an outburst from him, she doesn’t question it further). He brings you all sorts of things he’s made and watches in delight as you eat it all. You don’t need to know that his cum has been mixed into everything and he’s tucking himself in as close to the table as possible so you can’t see how hard he is as the thought of a part of him being inside of you as you go about your day. It comforts him to know that even when you go to your separate homes at the end of the day, there’s still a part of him with you.
✩ similarly, he’s always worried that you’re not drinking enough and so he’s offering his water bottle to you all the time!! Yeah, it’s so he can have something that you’ve put your mouth on but if you’re staying hydrated too then it’s a win for both of you, right? You don’t need to know how he’ll savour the taste of you (or even your lipgloss) on the bottle when he’s alone.
✩ on the note of makeup, I’m sure your lip balm/stick/gloss/whatever will always go missing because he’s always stealing them. You don’t know that either though, you just know that your friend Scara is kind enough to give you some money when you’re upset about losing your makeup so you can buy some more! He just loves using them and fantasising about how you’ll taste when he kisses you!!
✩ also Scara helping you with some class project and he has this super cool trick to help you filter through searches, he just has to download something for you! Yeah he does what he says but while he does “all the boring technical stuff” that he says you don’t need to pay attention to, he’s downloading his own malware that lets him access your computer remotely whenever he wants. He’ll get off to your pretty face through your webcam when he returns home and omg imagine he finds out about your tumblr blog!

Modding your Litg2 app 101:
(If I made any typos, which is about 95% likely, pls accept my apologies) FOR ANYONE COMING HERE LOOKING TO MOD s6 PLEASE GO HERE FOR THE WORKAROUND
Strap yourselves in, this will be lengthy. You may cry, you may want to punch something, but trust me it’s worth it 😭 I’ve tried to dumb this down as much as I can so you don’t struggle as much as me, so here we go! Many thanks to @oliverslove for writing out exactly how to do the emulator method using Bluestacks, just answering my 50,000 questions and being patient with me 💛💛
First up, do you want your mod on:
- an Android - head to this post
- an Apple device BUT you also have an android device to move the game from eg an Android tablet to an iPhone - also head to this post
- an Apple device and ONLY have Apple portable devices but you do have a PC to move the game from (Start at Step 1 of this post)
- only Apple devices. No PC. No Android devices. I’m sorry, loves but this method won’t work for you at all!😭😭😭
IPHONE USERS WITH ONLY APPLE PORTABLE DEVICES BUT ACCESS TO A PC:
1. Download Bluestacks onto your PC here
2. Give it a little setup. Fairly straight forward but here’s a guide for it too:
3. After it’s all set up, head here
4. Download the most recent version of the mod from ModYolo. It’s going to basically download a whole new app, that’s how it works on Android. You’re just copying an Android without having an Android, you get me? (ps take a shot for every time I just said Android). So, in case you haven’t guessed already, you will lose ALL progress on BOTH seasons and have to start from scratch.
5. Now you’ve downloaded that, it needs to be installed on Bluestacks. To install it you need to navigate to the toolbar on the right side of the screen and press the small icon saying .APK (this lil guy)⬇️⬇️⬇️
6. That lil icon will make you select exactly what it is you want to Install from your computers files. So find the mod you just downloaded (in most cases this is just in the computer’s Downloads area)
7. This will start the mods download to Bluestacks. Once it’s done, open it up and if it’s been done correctly then you should see the ModYolo notification at the bottom of the loading screen
8. The app will go straight into Season 4 as that’s how the actual app is just hardcoded anyways. But once you create a character you can just go back to the Home Screen and go onto season 5 if you’d rather.
9. So TA-DAH! On the Home Screen you’ll see you have a lot of gems and a blank space for tickets. This is just simply because once the modded app is on your phone the tickets don’t transfer over 😭 So, if you want to abuse unlimited tickets, play any progress you want to on Bluestacks (the computer) first.
10. Time to kiss those LIs goodbye and don’t make Bruno cry on the way out. Save your Bluestacks game to the Cloud (try and keep it to the one on your IPhone to save some time) it might give the choice to keep a Local or Cloud save, just click the one with lots and lots of gems.
11. Next, head over to your Apple device (the one you want to play the game on). No need to get a fancy app or do anything with this one. You’ll just want to load a game save from the Cloud and pick whichever has more gems.
And that, my friends is how you mod your game on Apple. 🤗
I’m about 85% sure you might have to do this again for season 6 as will be a new version of the mod looking at previous versions but I will look into that more and update this post!

Description: Having the name Benjamin Lawman inscribed on your wrist until the age of 11, you had to live the rest of your life as one of the unlucky few who woke up one day with their soulmate mark crossed off. Devastated didn’t properly express the feeling of emptiness at the loss of connection between someone you had grown so close to. Ten long years have passed since then, but a new name has shown up just underneath the butchered one: BEN drowned. Soon enough you’ll figure out your old soulmate is now more demon than he is man.

The pads of your fingers swiped over the newly printed name on your wrist in absent-mindedness as you scrolled through page after page on the internet, causing subtle goosebumps to rise up on your skin as the bold letters brandished a light tingling with the friction. Old memories bumped around in your brain of producing the same feeling when the name you used to have was touched.
It wasn’t feasible. It wasn’t something that had ever happened unless a soulmate had clinically died and been resuscitated within minutes. But over the span of ten years? Impossible.
So why was this name here now? And why on earth was it different?
Returning to the old articles- the ones that you hadn’t looked at in years- yielded no results.
‘Benjamin Lawman, aged 12, has been missing since around 6p.m. yesterday. Reports have mentioned he was wearing…”
‘It has been just over a month since the young boy, Benjamin Lawman, has gone missing. If you have seen anything in relation to his case…’
‘Benjamin Lawman declared deceased. “The search has gone on too long.” - Officer Hubris states…’
Hours and hours of looking at the same stupid newspaper clippings, public records, and news outlets was doing nothing besides digging up old memories that you didn’t want to relive. The times where Ben would talk to you, laugh with you, when you would play made up games with each other through the connection you both had created over a short time. He was always showing you his games on the console he had been gifted for his tenth birthday; you could still see the hazy image of a little boy with blonde hair swinging a sword at all kinds of different monsters, with Ben reciting each one of them as if he had memorized every detail of the game. You had talked to each other through the connection every day, and then he was just… gone.
Exhausting your emotional and logical thinking, you ran your fingers through your hair before dragging your fingers down over your face to rid yourself of the stiffness. Glancing at the darkened letters on your wrist, you sighed in exasperation. Flopping the limb down onto your lap like a ragdoll, you traced the letters once more. It tingled again; that was the only grounding factor telling you that you weren’t dreaming all of this up. But, what kind of a name was BEN Drowned?
You swallowed thickly at the implication of both names showing up like that, how one replaced the other, and then opened up a new tab on your laptop.
Immediately searching the name led you to a page on 4chan. Clicking on the site led to a very in depth and lengthy story, accompanied by multiple videos of a fucked up version of Ben’s favorite game, which took you about two whole hours to complete and understand.
“...It already has proven to me that Ben can access my account/password and manipulate my computer, and like I said I have no idea to what extent it can do this, but know that it will do anything to break free. He is desperate. I’m going to do something, something rash that may not work. But, if it can keep everyone safe from him, I’m willing to try it. I’m going to make sure he stays in that fucking cartridge, so just forget about me, please…”
It’s nearly dark out at this point, and your head is stuck spinning in place like a globe as you try to swallow the massive amount of information that you’ve been presented with. And still, none of it makes sense. But, really, did any of this? The newly branded name on your wrist certainly made no sense. Was it so odd that maybe there was something going on with this man, Jadusable, as well? And somehow it was all lining up together that this…thing shows up, and then its name shows up on your wrist just below where your old soulmate's name was crossed off, further implying that your soulmate was whatever BEN Drowned is.
“Oh god. I need to go lay down.”

After the day that the name had appeared, you had been doing more research than you had ever bothered to do during your schooling. Each and every piece always led to the same two destinations; a declared dead little boy and a 4chan page that no longer had any active comments or replies from its author.
You had since resorted to using the connection to try and make a breakthrough.
The first time was difficult for you. Something that had laid dormant for so long felt… wrong. To try and open it again meant the possibility of connecting with someone who you’d assumed was gone forever. Now what? What if he answered? What if he didn’t answer? What if it wasn’t him?
It took a lot of thinking, and a lot more courage, to open up that connection again.
Hands shaking, you clasped them together and closed your eyes, brows furrowing in concentration as you felt the familiar sensation flip like a switch in your brain. Clenching your teeth, you felt your eyes water beneath your eyelids as you let yourself fall away from your own consciousness for a moment, the familiarity nearly making you pull out of the sensation in discomfort. But, you pursued. You had never gotten this far, not after he disappeared.
It was dark. That was the only way to explain it. Pitch black, with no source of light or sound to be observed. You dug a little deeper, trying to find the point of communication again… Only to be stopped. Confused, you tried to move forward again, only to be pushed back again. You tried over and over, poking and prodding at the connection, but to no avail. It was like something was specifically keeping you out; as if Ben didn’t want you to make a connection.
You came back to your own consciousness with a start, eyes flashing open and feeling breathless as the connection dwindled and then faded away without your focus to keep it going. But, it was there. You had never been able to enter our connection like that before. Now, there was at least something.
It continued like this for the rest of the week; you trying to make a connection happen while something forced you away. But, you weren’t about to give up anytime soon. You were just as stubborn as Ben could be, pushing and pushing to no avail. You felt insane to be reaching out to somebody that was dead, somebody that wasn’t alive anymore, but you refused to give in.
Then finally, it worked.
You had gotten better at it the more you had practiced, gotten used to the familiar feeling that was at first melancholic; this time, you entered without bothering to close your eyes. Apparently, he had his guard down.
A box shaped view, bordered in complete darkness. The light that peered in did nothing to illuminate the surrounding area; the light was coming from a window. Your window. You recognized it as the one in your living room that overlooked the couch opposite of the TV. And there you were, sitting straight, a focused look on your face as you stared at the wall, as you had done time and time again over the past few weeks. You watched yourself flick your eyes up to the TV in astonishment–
You were slammed out of the connection so hard that it sprouted a headache at the front of your forehead, and you flung your hand upwards in order to cater to the sudden feeling. Debilitated, you groaned tearfully before you could open your eyes again, blinking away the sting and glancing up at the TV.
Stop trying.
The words were written in white, in a small text box at the bottom of the screen. You were only able to read it once before they disappeared as quickly as you had seen them.
“What… What the fuck?”

He’s been watching her for a while now, observing, debating, keeping her annoying attempts at contacting him at bay; she was relentless in that particular field.
Soulmates had always existed on this earth, apparently. And, although the fragmented memories of the soul he had ‘borrowed’ managed to save them from being imprisoned again via this aggravating connection, he wanted nothing to do with her.
He was called many names; demon, ghost, vengeful spirit, poltergeist, cybernetic entity – Something born from a mixture of code and the aftermath of an abominable act – so they were not entirely wrong, but they were never right, either. Regardless, they were right about one thing. He had no room for care, or sympathy, or love. Not anymore. It was not programmed, not a part of his ideals.
That was what he assumed, until the annoying little prick that he chose to resuscitate from that watery grave started to rekindle the connection he had before, when he was alive. The little bits of his host that still existed within him now crawled and zapped within the numbers, disagreeing with how he was treating the girl. He assumed this was some form of rebellion from the kid, and it was affecting them a lot worse than he understood.
They weren’t supposed to feel the way he was toward this human, he wasn’t capable of having emotion at all. It wasn’t possible. And yet, here he was, watching her from the screen of the television that they had been trapped in ever since Ben’s last ditch effort at escape; it had worked, they were out of the cartridge, but they were missing pieces. That made the effort useless.
Perhaps he should’ve chosen a better host for ascension.

You jolted awake at the loudness of the sound, feeling it reverberate through the ground and walls with the force of it. Sitting upright, you stayed still as a statue and listened closely, in the case that you had dreamt the sound.
“Shit.” A voice whispered harshly against the silence, raspy and low.
“We- We gotta make this quick. Hurry up,” Foot steps followed the higher pitched voice heading down the hallway.
Swiftly, you ripped the covers off and dove for the closet, being as silent as possible as you settled below the hanging clothes and behind a hamper of dirty ones, trying to ease your breath and keep calm. Soon after, the two men barge into the bedroom and begin scouring your drawers.
Addicts, you assumed. That was the likely situation, given your shitty location and even shittier apartment, they frequented the area and often ended up breaking into places that they figured were either abandoned or no one was home. A few of her neighbors had some close calls, while a few others were not so lucky. Flashes of ambulances and white sheets came to your mind, and you pushed them away, instead listening to the two of them argue in some kind of whacked-out dispute.
“There’s no money, no jewelry; where the fuck is it all?” The first one started, slamming the drawer so loud the whole cabinet stuttered against the wall.
“M-Maybe we got the wrong number,” The other replied, dumping something onto the floor, “is it the wrong apartment?”
“If it is, we’re fucked. C’mon,” The two pairs of footsteps went further down the hall toward the kitchen, and you sighed gratefully.
Hearing them rummage through the kitchen drawers now, you felt your heart beating in your veins as you slowly opened up the closet door and peered around. The room was empty, and you could hear them starting another argument about something else. Now was the time to move before they could come back and check the closet; there was no point in waiting like a sitting duck.
Just as you were starting to silently make your way down the hallway and towards the front door, in the process realizing that they had burst the damn thing open in order to get inside, you heard the shuffle of footsteps in the kitchen begin to grow closer. Your blood ran cold, mind running wildly at the possibility of what would happen if they saw you.
Wordlessly, you bolted to the living room, relying completely on instinct as you locked your eyes onto the black screen of the TV. You hesitated a second, debating if hiding somewhere would be a better option, but a quick glance around the room told you there wouldn’t be a place for you to do so. They were getting closer, the scuffing of their boots on the tile spurred you forward.
“I am so fucking crazy for this…” You whispered, eyes flickering all over the screen as you gripped its edge in a vice. Fuck it.
“If you’re in there,” You took a deep breath, faltering out of fear, “I need help. Please, some men broke into my house and–”
“Did you hear that?” You nearly stopped breathing from how close they were now.
“Yeah, came from that room, there.” Hurried, heavy steps started toward the rooms entrance.
“Shit.” You turned and gazed desperately at the screen, no response.
“God damn you,” Frustrated, you began to scream and bang at its dark surface with your fists, “Fucking answer me!”
“The hell’s wrong with you?” The two men had finally made it into the room, just staring at you as your slammed your fists repeatedly against the TV. One of them, a smaller, scruffy looking man, looked confused and concerned. The other, much taller and larger, looked pissed off.
“What does that matter?” The bigger one began to advance, and right before he pushed you to the floor, you saw the screen light up. Hissing at the sting of the impact, you glanced behind the man towards the now lit-up screen.
Fine.
“Tell us where you’re keeping all of your shit. Now.” His harsh tone made you flinch, feeling spit hit your face as he loomed over you.
“I-I… I don’t have anything. I swear… I don’t have–” You stuttered, but couldn’t complete the sentence in time.
SMACK!
The burning of your cheek registered before you realized what had happened, feeling tears fall down your face at the shock of the pain. You heard something clicking against itself, the harsh noise berating your ears and making you look back at him before freezing in place.
“Don’t fucking lie to me. You’re hiding something, I know you are. Hand it over!” You’re left staring down the barrel of a hand gun as he shouts at you, and if you weren’t crying before, you definitely are now.
“Hey… Hey Jim.” The soft voice of the other man interrupts the exchange, and the angry man, Jim, nearly blows a fuse.
“Something’s wrong, man.”
“What the hell are you on about now, Mike?” With a rage in his eyes, he turned around, the gun turned safely away from your face. Before he could say anything else, however, he stilled.
You peered up at the screen, where they were both looking, as you trembled at the prospect of being shot.
You shouldn’t have done that.
“What the hell? This some kinda game?”
You wish it was.
“Jim, lets go.” Mike practically begs his friend, inching towards the door.
“There’s somebody else here. They’re probably watchin’ us, right now.” His voice trembles at the thought.
“Don’t be such a pussy,” Jim spits, angry at the idea; “I’m talking to you too, creep! Come out and show yourself instead of hiding behind a fucking screen.”
If you say so.
There’s a moment where the screen goes dark, before another message pops up on screen.
Close your eyes.
You obey the message without a word, clenching them as tight as you possibly can. Then, you hear the front door slam shut, despite it being broken off of it’s hinges before.
“What the fuck was–” Jim’s words are cut off by his own strangled screams. Something drops to the ground with a clatter, shortly followed by Mike’s shrill screams that fade as he moves towards the front of the apartment. He begins to plead for something to open as something begins to snap and pop in the living room. You flinch at each noise, nearly sobbing as the man’s screams from in front of you are reduced to garbled grunts and groans, before he goes silent with one final crunch.
Mike’s murmured ‘no, no, no’ can be heard from he hallway as he slams rhythmically against something over and over. The words are chased by his own screams that echo one final time before it’s swiftly cut short, only to be replaced by a deafening silence that leaves your heart beat thrumming in your ears. Ragged breaths help to filter out the lack of sound as you stay glued in place, not daring to open your eyes.

“You can open them now.” Your eyes snap open at the almost robotic tone that instinctively feels familiar.
A quick sweep around the room showed that there was nobody there; in fact, there was no sign that they had ever been there in the first place. The only thing that was different was the TV, which was still lit up, the same words that were spoken to you depicted in white letters in the textbox.
You can open them now.
The screen dropped to black, and then lit up again.
All done. You’re welcome.
The screen went dark for the final time that night, and all that was left was the silence.

Part Two: Alterhuman Community Intro…?
This post will continue to be edited as necessary.
So I just posted my writeblr intro and since I’m definitely more active in the alterhuman community than the writeblr community I thought it might be fun to have a nonhuman/plural intro? Might be fun and it also occurred to me/us that most of our followers really only know me since I’m the only occupant of the body itself, and don’t know anything about the rest of the system. I will probably delete this someday if I decide once again I don’t like having my ‘types public depending on if the brainmates want to keep their own bios up. It will also probably change a lot because we tend to do that.
Context. We are a non-dissociative system, we do not switch, we were dæmonic originally meaning that I am the body and communicate with them through faux-visual projection and mental speech (which is why I talk like we're a total found family when they never seem to even say anything -- trust me they do, they just don't have access to the keyboard). We/they consider them all to have separate external bodies. We are quoigenic, not traumagenic or endogenic or mixed origins, only refer to us as the former.
Swift
He/it (they/them only under certain circumstances), bisexual, binary male* but only humans are ever men. I use quoi- ahead of all labels (both queer and alterhuman) in addition. POSIC, possibly (probably) (but not exclusively!) objectum. I have a special interest in biology, the arts, and the change of technology/art/language/media over time and throughout history (example: history of computer graphics 1950s-1990s <3). Psychospiritual, philosophical and narrative alterhuman.
Species-wise: I am a raven (Corvus corax principalis), an osprey (Pandion haliaetus carolinensis), a red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamiacensis kriderii), common spotted cuscus (Spilocuscus maculatus), sea slater (Ligia exotica), mosasaur (Megapterygius wakamayensis), and lastly, Musteloidea superfamily cladotherian. I’m a Novakid, a species from the game Starbound, which I consider more of a fictional kintype than a fictotype (and thus prefer alienkin or otherkin over fictionkin for this ‘type). I am also a computer, specifically an IBM 7090. I also consider myself a kind of entity or manifestation of autumn, I’d just call it “conceptkin with extra steps.” I am questioning two kintypes right now, more “I am this but what the heck is it” situations than “here’s the thing but is it me” but I won’t list them until I can figure it out; general idea is “embolomere fish-kaiju” and “have you ever heard of the Hidebehind? no, well have you ever experienced sleep paralysis? no ok well have you ever played Lethal Company”
I was a ghost. Now I’m not. It was not a kintype and I did not “deconfirm” it. This affects some things.
I am a flickerer with two fictotypes (Link from The Legend of Zelda, every canon game, and the Knight from Hollow Knight).
I have four heartedtypes (domestic cats, cephalopods, sea urchins, and ghost type Pokemon) and three hearthomes (the ocean, the Pleistocene, and O’Neill cylinders). I consider dragons, wolves and foxes to be paratypes.
I have a profound quasi-religious connection to stars & the night sky that I consider at least marginally alterhuman in nature.
I am an archetrope; wanderer, and secondarily a "shapeshifter" and "generalist" which I need better words for both of -- as they say language is like trying to nail down the ocean, and I guess it would be more accurate but less concise to describe them as "one who changes, embodies or becomes" and "one who adapts, survives or opportunizes." V’vohu
Swift here. V’vohu would not write its own intro. It doesn’t communicate in words exactly, save for a few syllables. Mostly emotions.
V’vohu is a sheyd, a type of demon spirit in Jewish mythology, that appeared to me not long after my first three headmates originated. I thought it was a normal headmate at first, but it’s not really. I believe it is literally an extradimensional visitor or guide of sorts, and while I acknowledge this may be slightly delusional, it is a very real entity to me. Consistently, it creates epiphanies, asks me to do things that end up being important, and knows things about myself that even I didn’t know. Its motivations are difficult to ascertain.
This is its playlist, less of music it listens to exactly and more music that will summon it. It’s a unique music taste because V’vohu doesn’t perceive our dimension the way we do and music doesn’t sound the same way to it that it does to us. Anser
Swift here again. Anser is a tricky one. She could and probably would write her own intro, but she’s complicated much like V’vohu and I’d rather explain it in my own words, because I’m not sure hers would be… not too vague.
Anser is not fae, nor a kitsune, nor a Huli Jing or any other kind of specific fox myth, rather a fae-like fox spirit who seems to embody multiple fox and faerie mythologies. He originated as a spirit. Sort of. When he first appeared, he may well have been a literal spirit visitor, like V’vohu. But he left, possibly of his own accord, possibly something to do with V’vohu. This Anser is a different entity while being the same individual psychologically, fully formed by whatever mental process formed the other headmates excluding V’vohu, but still also fully psychologically a spirit. Literally the exact same individual in every way except not a literal outside spiritual visitor. He still fully believes in magic and is the most spiritual of all of us. It's complicated.
Anyways, she usually appears as a red fox with or without various fantastical attributes, and sometimes as a statue. She/her and he/him only, not they/them. I believe she identifies as bigender or genderfluid, not sure which or if gender means the same thing to her at all that it does to earthly people. Vargas was looking at him, all half-lidded eyes and contemplative smirk and it was driving him insane. They’d been at the bar for about an hour now, low lights dancing through the room, bathing it in a dizzying mix of pinks and blues, drinks flowing freely for everyone around them. Phillip knew this wasn’t the moment to get drunk, though. The mission to infiltrate the club and keep an eye on their mark had priority, no matter how much attention his mission partner was showering him with.
“If you’re not careful, someone’s gonna see the way you look at me”, he mumbled into his drink, surveying the dancefloor. Their mark wasn’t as far away as just a minute ago, making her way towards the bar they were sitting at. It was an opportunity, but he needed the Mexican to keep a cool head if he wanted it to work.
“What if I want them to see? The type of rumours it could spark…” The other’s taunting grin irritated him and he shot him a frosty glare.
“It won’t be as fun when the families get involved, believe me.” He ignored Vargas’ dismissive scoff and noted the mark’s position just two seats over. Honestly, there were better ways to spend a Saturday night, but the woman had dirt on high-ranking members of both their families. Discretion was needed and goodwill had to be shown, hence the involvement from both families – no one could secure the information to use it against the other later. Of course, it was Phillip’s luck to get paired with Vargas. Their continued shared work in the past, if reluctant, had proven successful and success was all their families needed right now. Personal vendettas were of no importance in this, never mind any other kind of previous mingling.
With a last warning look towards the other, who rolled his eyes and ordered another drink, he turned around, acting surprised at seeing the young woman close to them. He smiled charmingly when he caught her eye and feigned interest. “What’s a fine-looking lady like you doing here. We haven’t met before, have we?”
She seemed a bit suspicious of him, but smiled nonetheless, pushing a strand of her hair behind her ear, revealing a glittering earring. “I don’t think we have, no.”
“That sounds about right. I’d remember a woman as stunning as you. I’m Jason by the way, it’s nice to meet you,” he drawled, putting on his Southern charm and holding out his hand. He didn’t like leaning into it, but many people outside the South liked it enough for him to use it again and again.
She gingerly took his offered hand, shook it once and they got talking. Marienne was French and had studied computer science, she owned a small poodle and had a sister. Phillip nodded and smiled along despite knowing all of it already. There was nothing new she could tell him except where she had hidden the information she had hacked their databases for. He would find out, one way or another, the pressure of his gun against his back where he had tucked in into his waistband a welcome reassurance.
Marienne smiled at him again as she leaned forward, asking him to come home with her for the night. It went just as he had hoped it would, but before he could agree, a hand landed on his hip, making him lose his train of thought as Alejandro stood right beside them, eyeing the woman. Graves’ heartbeat synced with the song‘s bass reverberating through the club, heat spreading from where their bodies touched. He must’ve been listening in to their conversation and gotten up when he heard her request. Something dark glimmered in his eyes and Phillip had a bad feeling about it.
The Mexican looked her up and down and then spoke, voice rough and dangerous. “I didn’t think you would want to get back at me that badly. Is she supposed to make me jealous? You can do better.” It was clear he was talking to Phillip despite looking at their target. Graves was speechless; partially out of surprise, partially out of anger. Couldn’t Vargas take the mission serious for even a moment? This was a huge opportunity he was ruining, as the woman looked from him to Phillip and back again, a sliver of apprehension and fear in her eyes.
She was starting to stand up. He had to save this somehow. Standing as well, he forcefully, if discreetly, removed the other’s hand from his hip and pushed him away as inconspicuously as possible. “He’s joking, I’m not with him.” He smiled reassuringly at her and winked. “Why don’t we get outta here, it’s getting late.” She nodded, but was hesitant about it. Graves slipped a tracker into her handbag while she was distracted by Alejandro still only a few feet away from them. It turned out to have been the right decision, as the other grabbed Phillip’s hand still keeping him in place and brought it up to his mouth to kiss the inside of his wrist.
“Oh please, you can drop the act. My attention is all yours.” He practically growled the last words, sending a shiver down Graves’s spine. This was not the plan. Their target took that moment to give a hasty goodbye and vanish into the crowd. Angry, the American turned towards his assigned partner and glared at him. The bar was more populated now, so he ripped his hand out of the other’s and seized his arm, steering Vargas outside and into a nearby alley.
“What the fuck was that? We almost had her!” Alejandro just grinned and Phillip’s blood started to boil. He pushed the other up against the dirty wall of the alley, the suit’s lapels clutched in his fists and his own nose just a few centimetres away from the Mexican’s. With bared teeth, he had to hold himself back from pulling a knife and getting rid of the nuisance in his grasp. “Why can’t you behave like the professional you’re supposed to be for one evening.”

So I did see a very big blogger say that they’re too triggered and exhausted by police brutality and watching our peers die, that they choose to not care and don’t have to. I was blown away by that. Yes, god, I am so tired of the problems we face in our country from being black but to show no empathy for others really saddens me. I truly thought some of my peers here were better than that. Seeing your post though restored my faith and I thank you for saying what I couldn’t put into words. A simple reblog for thousands of eyes to see is so important I don’t see how they don’t get it.
hi anon! sorry it took me awhile to respond bc i really wanted take extra time and thought for this. im glad that my post showed you that everyone not think and feel the same about sharing/supporting for palestine even though we may have the same racial/ethnic background. it’s honestly really disheartening but still frustrating to see other black simmers or just really some black people irl to kinda have that same reaction to what’s going on. i completely understand the suffocating trauma and feeling of hopelessness that comes with being black especially in america. not everyone who is black has the same trauma and i cannot speak for everyone especially those who may had a family member, friend or someone they knew affected by police brutality and/or lynching. the response to police brutality was to protect our peace, to take a break, and to prevent us from breaking down to point of not being able to fight against systemic oppression either alive or not. and that was understandable because stress and constantly being in fear about dying a senseless and brutal death for only being black heavily impacts our health both mentally and physically. im not trying to invalid that pain or experiences at all. and i never will.
but it just doesn’t feel right to me personally to turn away and stay silent about a literal genocide occurring right before us that is endorsed by our current president and is funded by american taxpayer dollars. even though im african american and a list of other marginalized identities, i still have the vital and basic privilege of being able to live with a roof over my head, a warm bed and shower, access to food and water when i need it, access to electricity to listen to music and be on my computer/phone, and so much more than many palestinians don’t have the opportunity to have right now. my mental health is not the best some days but waking up to see what’s going on in palestine every day for the past couple days have yet to drain me (this is probably another privilege) because it’s also the small and big moments of seeing palestine children smiling, journalists i have seen ever since this started still alive and reporting, people protesting all over the world via blockades and physical/financial boycotts. my experience during peak blm may have drained me emotional but the experience also radicalized me and made my activism or just simply my outlook on life more focused on love, community, nourishment, and a hopeful life without colonialism and imperialism. if i was more passive in engaging with geopolitical issues and just shut out the world around then i would be missing out on a lot of good things in this life.
i feel like there could be better ways to say this and maybe im just rambling on but there must be a balance between sustaining yourself as a person amid constant turmoil, violence, pain and death versus becoming complicit and silent just like those who oppress want us to be. every single one of us will not win or be free if silence is the only thing people can do to “protect our peace”. at the end of day, we owe it to the palestinians (as well as the congolese, haitians, sudanese, and many others who only ask that we speak up and care more).

1) Children and everyone having a right to public, accessible education is such an important value for me. Is youthlib against the idea of funding public schools?
I’m not The Single Valid Youthlib Representative(tm). There are many different youth liberationists who don’t necessarily agree with each other on every single point. I can only give my own opinion, which I believe is the most accurate interpretation of the principle of youth liberation: Of course I agree, and I acknowledge that public schools are currently underfunded and should have more financial support. Gatekeeping from education is oppressive.
It would put all minors at a disadvantage, and we should be improving children’s education so they have a fairer prospect for their future. Being literate, understanding math especially finance, etc.
I agree it’s a problem that so many children are unable to access any education in the first place. But I would caution against taking the “less educated = less successful” at face value. The issue isn’t that being less educated automatically, inherently means one will become disadvantaged, but that capitalism creates these disadvantages for uneducated people. It’s unfair that people who haven’t had a chance to go to/remain in school are also gatekept from jobs, resources, and respect later in life. Resolving the issue (re classism and adultism) involves making it possible for children to be able to go to school instead of being unable to access it, but it also means fighting for justice for children & adults who didn’t get to go, instead of just leaving them behind in the dust now that it’s too late or whatever. It’s sad that if someone can’t understand the (overcomplicated, very bullshit, should-not-be-existing-in-the-first-place) financial system capitalism has forced onto us, then they’ll be disadvantaged in life.
And, some children/minors/adults just can’t understand math or finance or learn literacy well in the first place, regardless of how good their teachers/educational materials/settings are. It is unfair to expect that they should, or treat them as lesser, or refuse to accommodate them. Everyone, regardless of capability, should be able to expect a good future for themself, and to have the resources to live securely.
And, formal schools (both public and private) are extremely adultist and violent to children. Does that mean homeschooling is the solution? No, because family homes are also extremely adultist and violent to children. I’m frustrated at a lot of the discourse I’ve seen, where survivors of violence from schools or violence from the home have tried to discuss our traumas, only to be dismissed and told that we should just suck it up and deal with the flaws of the institution because the alternative would be “worse.” Many people have experienced immense abuse and trauma from both schools and our families. I want to think of solutions beyond just trying to pick the lesser of two evils.
(Official) schools (in their current form, at least) aren’t particularly good at teaching in the first place. They don’t teach how to really understand the concepts of “math” so much as rote memorization and computation, for example. The way subjects are taught in schools focuses more on trying to train them into good capitalist workers, not help them develop life skills for themselves or learn things they actually want to and choose to learn themselves. Meanwhile a lot of potential educational materials (paywalled academic texts, informative books in general, politically unpopular info/arguments like honest analyses about abuse dynamics/what to do in more difficult situations, niche things they don’t really care about because they’re not profitable) and sources of education (i.e. people, places from the outside) are withheld from children because of the formalized schooling system which narrows what and how they can learn, and meanwhile tries to force students to learn whatever they don’t want and don’t need to learn, and is especially hell for disabled children/minors being forced to attend and being overloaded with work when they can’t handle that, plus all the higher likelihood of bullying and abuse from authority figures they can’t escape from.
So I believe youth liberationists, and leftists in general, should be focused on both improving access to education and ensuring that people who had not been able to access education or just genuinely don’t want to or cannot are not being punished for being uneducated either. Right to learn things doesn’t mean also being okay with forcing children to learn things (which is also a major problem right now). And grassroots education outside of formal schooling hooked up to the state/capitalist systems / the nuclear family home should also be a priority. Though it would help, “reform & improve public schools” is still not a solution to the fundamental problem of enforcing a divide between “learning” and “the rest of life” / “place to learn” and “anywhere else” / monopolizing good (or as good as possible) education in the hands of authorities.
We should be making schools better for children not losing their right to an education.
(I prefer to frame children’s rights discussions as something which centers their input and their efforts; should not just be a thing “we” pass down onto “them” on their behalf instead of them being directly involved in the process.)
(Note that nowhere in the entire article I reposted was there any claim that children should “lose their right to an education.”)
2) Does losing parental rights make parental abuse obsolete as a legal protection? Confused here.
That’s not what “right” means. A right you have is something you can do, not something you have to do. “Parental rights over their children” doesn’t mean parents are being made to care for or be nonabusive to their children; “parental rights” are the mechanisms which allow parents to abuse their children because their children are viewed as their property, or to force invasive medical procedures onto/withhold needed medical care from their children because they’re viewed as having a right to make their children’s decisions for them regardless of what the children themselves feel, or to decide what their child’s future must look like because of their “right to control” them. “Parental rights” means that outsiders are barred from housing an abused/neglected child because only the parents may choose where “their” children live.
On the other hand, parental obligations (or responsibilities, or duties) are a rather different concept. For example, every person has an obligation (or responsibility) to not abuse or otherwise violate other sentient beings. Everyone also has an obligation to not hoard essential resources they won’t use themselves while others are in desperate need but can’t access them—for example, (IMO) very rich people with control over their finances are obligated to redistribute their wealth downwards ASAP, and are committing ethical violations when they do not. As for obligations specific to parents: if they have children under their care who cannot leave/acquire that care elsewhere, they have a responsibility to feed, clothe, house, and otherwise provide for their children wrt essential resources to the best of their physical and financial capability.
Parents should face consequences for abusing children, which unfortunately will happen sometimes regardless of efforts to prevent crime. Some parents are just cruel.
I like to think of this question a bit differently. The issue here is that right now, if a parent has cruel beliefs/intentions, then abuse will happen, because they have near-unchallenged power to enact their will for cruelty. Consequences for abuse which has happened are important, of course, but I’m also interested in preventing abuse from happening in the first place, instead of just keeping up the system where kids have to roll the dice and if they land on a cruel parent then that’s just what they get and having a good parents just depends on their luck. I want to work towards a world where regardless of an ideological bigot/authoritarian’s personal desire for cruelty, they will be unable to act out the abuse they want, because they no longer have the power to do so unresisted. This is also why general social justice organizing (if it’s good) doesn’t focus primarily on reforming bigots, getting them to change their beliefs/intentions, but on reclaiming power and autonomy so that despite what the bigots might still believe, they can no longer make those beliefs matter to us as easily.
Leftists and anarchists in general are often told that we are too utopian and need to understand that “violence will always happen no matter how much you make social changes.” I dislike this framing; first of all, I’m not a doomer, and I do not want to say there certainly will always be violence, because I don’t think it is possible to guess that with 100% accuracy, and I like to leave room for a little hope in the world; second of all, it’s not really a relevant objection, because we’re not about gambling on the possibility of there being no abuse, but about taking steps to reduce abuse as much as we can and make it as hard as possible for abuse to happen.
But if parents aren’t “legally responsible,” are they not also going to be found liable for abusing their children?
I’m thinking about a certain Reddit post I read a few months ago. A woman was raising an infant with her (boyfriend? husband? not exactly sure which it was). She hadn’t wanted the child, and he had. She was slowly realizing that she just couldn’t bring herself to love the kid, and the childcare work was annoying and frustrating and exhausting her. Her bf/husband really liked the kid and was enthusiastic about taking care of them and nurturing them. A lot of commenters on that thread told her that she should leave them, because she’s not suited to be a parent for the child, as they grow up they’ll be able to tell that she’s just faking her emotions and actually dislikes them/doesn’t love them, so she should halt the toxic dynamic as early as possible. That stuck with me a lot—it would’ve been so helpful to a lot of kids if it was normalized for parents who don’t like a kid to be able to give them to better-suited, more loving caretakers who do want to have a kid, because many parents are just incompatible, just aren’t fit to parent, personality-wise or otherwise. Expanding the options for everyone to have healthy relationships and get the love and nurturing they need does not mean that neglectful parents of children stuck in their abusive household are not culpable for their harms (i.e. specifically withholding resources when they were needed). And, in general, abuse is wrong when done by anybody to anyone, legal parent or not. This doesn’t change that. And, I don’t really care about the legal system much in the first place because even with laws forbidding extended kinship networks they still don’t actually do a lot about parental neglect or abuse. I’m interested in more concrete questions like “how do we help neglected children acquire the resources/care they’ve been deprived of” or “how do we get abuse victims out; how do we minimize unwanted relationships and maximize wanted relationships; which cultural norms do we need to change to facilitate this.”
3) How would we ensure that children, particularly very young, are being well cared for - diapers, feedings, etc? Currently parents are completely abandoned by the social systems in place. I actually think a reformed/socialist service like cps (unsure of a better word) should be freely provided to all parents. Social workers or volunteers can make sure a child isn’t being ISOLATED which is the biggest factor for abuse. Neighbors may not even know abusive parents have a child and that’s terrifying.
Agreed, though I’d like to point out that this isn’t just something that can only be done by a specially appointed or paid professional group; this is something anyone can do, and especially people already close by. Like, checking up on your friends if it seems like something abusive is going on. Being that person for them if they’re stuck in an abusive home. Normalizing being more attentive to children near you socially, paying more attention to people around you in general, and lending a hand, and creating more interconnected communities which make it harder to isolate someone. It’s kind of hard to imagine given our current atomized hellscape but there are & have been societies in which families weren’t just sorted into single-unit disconnected households, and it was a lot easier to notice if something was off/hold each other accountable; also people fighting for this right now—whether children/minors using the Internet to finally befriend outsiders when they never could before, or having electronic devices they hide from their abusers, or meeting/talking to a friend in secret; or the teachers, healthcare workers, classmates, anyone else seeing them and opening the pathway for questions, help where there were no other options before, etc. & preventing isolation and exploitation wholesale means targeting the root of the problem (the nuclear family’s isolation, thru various political/economic forces)—which is exactly what the article was talking about.

I get SOOO overwhelmed with the amount of tabs/ files/ folders I have on my computer. It adds clutter to my brain. It’s like I have to save and read and document everything.
It’s hard lately being in the headspace to organize and decide what to keep and where things should go. Fake it till you make it? In the meantime, I started doing a few things.
Short list:
1. Hide desktop items. It’s like having a clean room in the touch of a button.
2. Put all browser tabs into a new bookmarks folder. I use this as a list to delete the tabs I know I don’t need or want. Organizing in this way is easier for my brain
I detailed the steps with pictures under a read more to help those who are not as tech literate and may not know how to do these things.
I would love to hear what strategies other people use! I would love to have more to add to the list so please reblog, put in tags, send me a message.
1. DESKTOP IS CLEAR SO IS MY MIND
It feels counterproductive when the place you see the most is a hellfire so I have started hiding the desktop icons
Right click on your desktop, hover over “view”, and then click “show desktop icons”.
A check-mark next to it means they are shown. No check-mark means hidden. Use this method to both hide and show icons.
TIP if you are forgetful: physically write this out on a post it note and stick it to the desktop.:
“ SHOW OR HIDE DESKTOP ICONS
Right click desktop, hover over “view”,
and then click show desktop icons.”
3. CHOO CHOO BROWSER TAB TRAINS
When my brain is frazzled, I tend to just keep opening tabs from different sites but then never close them. It’s especially hard if some of the tabs are triggering.
Mainly for Firefox but may work similar to other browsers.
Step 1. Right click a tab and from the drop down menu click “select all tabs” nothing happens but there is black box around all tabs.
Step 2. Right click any tab and now click “bookmark tabs” and a popup will appear
Step 3. Name the folder the tabs will be in and choose the location. Bookmarks menu is easiest for me. Click “save”
After you click save the window will disappear, if done correctly all tabs will be in a new folder. If you look at the tabs you just saved they will now have this “blue star” which means it’s a bookmark
I then close the whole window
To Access bookmarks:
I use the menu bar at the top to access them. ”Manage bookmarks” brings up a new window, which is how I like to view my bookmarks

Week 0: Next Stop… Praha!
Dobrý den, všichni! (Good day, everyone!)
My name is Reese and I’ve just arrived in Prague! I’ll be blogging this semester from February 1 until May 10, for the IFSA IPE Tech Accelerator program in Prague, Czechia! A little about me: I’m a junior at UMich studying computer science and pursuing the international minor for engineers. I love hiking, thrifting, weight lifting, and I’m trying to read more books so drop a note if you have any good recs :)
As were the other IPE Bloggers, I was driven to write about my experience studying abroad for the sole purpose of sharing a genuine, authentic perspective for prospective UM students wishing to follow in my footsteps. I value transparency, so my posts will be honest and detailed, and will shed light on the unpleasantries alongside my positive experiences.
In my time abroad, I strive to be present, engaged, and true. I’ve set a few goals for myself alongside forwarding my engineering education and practice:
Conversational in Czech: I find new languages fascinating, so it was a no brainer for me to start practicing Czech as soon as I got into the program! With a couple months of duolingo behind me, I’ve been able to recognize greetings, phrases, and key markers here that I definitely would’ve been intimidated by otherwise. All UM students on the program are required to take Essential Czech or Beginner Czech I here, so the majority of my learning Czech will take place alongside my friends.
Get involved in a local organization: In my previous travel experience, I’ve found the best way to immerse myself is to jump right in with the locals. I am extremely passionate about STEM outreach, especially when it comes to mentoring or encouraging participation of underrepresented groups in STEM, so I hopefully plan to extend this volunteer work in my time in Prague.
Explore my host country (Czechia) beyond the city of Prague: While I plan on doing my fair share of traveling Europe while I’m here, I want to shed a more focused light on all the Czech Republic, specifically, has to offer. Our program has scheduled an overnight excursion to Brno, the country’s second largest city and famous for its trade fairs, but I also plan on exploring the country’s natural landscape in Šumava National Park (or Ceský ráj), and its rich history in Český Krumlov.
Now for a live update… experience a long travel day with me through pictures!
Finally, at the end of each of my posts I’m going to share a couple of ins (things that are working) and outs (things that have caused me some trouble). For this blog post, the ins and outs are more material and pertain to the packing, preparation, and travel that I’ve done these past few days, but they could be anything in accordance with the week I’m blogging about.
Ins:
Grayl: Fortunately, the tap water in Prague is safe to drink and of high quality. However, as a precaution for my future travels, I bought a Grayl water bottle to filter and purify water (against both water borne bacteria and viruses) from any source, and it’s been super easy to use so far.
Airalo: I used this for cell service in South Africa and it worked seamlessly, so I bought another E-Sim through Airalo for my time in Prague that’s valid for 30 days at a time in all EU countries (10 GB for 22 USD). It doesn’t say it has a top-up package on Airalo, but once the E-Sim is installed, the external provider gives the user access to an app that offers renewal and other management of the E-Sim. I will keep you guys updated when I go through the process of renewing it in a month.
Compression travel bags: These saved my life while packing and will be perfect for weekend trips that limit my baggage. The ones I bought are reusable, don’t require a vacuum, and have multiple variations of quantities and sizes on Amazon (~$15 USD for 12 bags).
Outs:
Passport Control: I hope I’m not the only one that grows impatient in long lines like these, but I can’t complain because I made it through with plenty of spare time for my connecting flight. Since we went through it in Amsterdam, we didn’t have to in Prague since they’re both in the EU, but my roommate who flew from the UK was stuck in line for over an hour when she got into Prague.
Period problems: Disclaimer they do not have free sanitary products in any of the public bathrooms I’ve been to in Amsterdam and Prague thus far. Applicators are not always included. Ugh.

How To Remotly Communicate With Your Home Pc - For Free

TMITL - November 2022
If I counted everything right, this post recounts weeks forty-four to forty-eight. Huzzah!

Let's start with the reason I didn't blog for the month of November - National Novel Writing Month! Even though I was challenged to write a non-romance novel, I decided to take the "easy" route and write the romance story in my head at the time because it had to be done. Some stats, for the curious:
- title: IKAW LANG, MI AMOR (Only You, My Love)
The characters are Filipina and Spanish, and even though the story is in English (because of course I am not fluent in either Tagalog or Spanish), I thought I'd go for a non-English titles to reflect the characters' backgrounds.
- word count: 55,531 words
I hit the 50,000 word count on November 25th but the story needed more words to be complete. If I actually edit the story, I'll probably add more words because towards the end, I skipped writing some scenes that I think would benefit the story.
- daily word count average: 1791 words (according to the stat page of my NaNoWriMo profile)
After the first day, that average word count is probably accurate. I somehow wrote over 4k words but after that I always tried for 2k a day until near the end.

I think that one is not a surprise if you've been paying attention.
I really enjoyed writing the story but I know it has flaws. As always with my novels, I would like to go back and clean it up and maybe even get it presentable for publishing. I'm actually letting someone read it! I'm excited and nervous about what might be said. I hope it's not utter crap to fresh eyes but I wouldn't be surprised. Fingers crossed!
SOCIAL MEDIA AND OTHER HOOPLA
For awhile it felt like Twitter was going to go down in a ball of fire but I think at this point it's just going to whimper into the ether. I still post there everyday (let's go Wordle domination!) but after signing up for different places online and starting the curation of new follows, I realize that I derive little joy from Twitter. When my friends post, it's amazing but I have been following accounts that seem to insist on sharing the doldrums of life around us. Don't get me wrong, that stuff needs to be shared and understood. I'm just so TIRED of seeing all of it. I told myself I should keep following those accounts to be informed but you know what, I'm done with it. In recent days, I've unfollowed a few accounts that are quite informative but just such a downer on the soul. I'm going to continue posting my inconsequential tweets until I can't. And honestly, if Twitter does burn to the ground, I'll be sad and glad for the memories but also relieved.
So what am I trying out? Well...
- Mastodon - I have two accounts right now, one on a big instance (https://mastodon.social/@kiari) and another on a smaller one (https://twit.social/@valerie). I follow a lot of the same people on both but there are some differences. I like Mastodon as it reminds me of days long ago in the social media realm where PEOPLE shared ideas as opposed to companies or corporations. It's been a much more pleasant experience for me there and I'm sharing in little bites for now since I'm not sure which instance I want to be my main one...
- Post. - I signed up for Post and was on the waiting list and somehow got in! (https://post.news/walelia) I've only posted once so far as I'm not sure how I want to use it. There has been some criticism about this particular social media network and I wonder if it's because those complaining have to wait to get it. It's very news oriented and I think they're trying to position themselves as a place to find legitimate news. So far I'm finding that at this point, I'm more a consumer of what's posted as opposed to being a contributor. There is no app at this point-- the site runs on your browser so you can access it from your computer or your phone. On the phone, you'd have to make it a bookmark to your home screen, if you'd like for it to act like an app. It's pretty straight forward.
- Hive Social - This one is an app only social network, which makes it a red-flag for me. I like to be able to consume my social media on my computer as well as my phone or tablet. This one had some security issues recently as well so who knows how long it will last.
TV & MOVIES
Wednesday - Very much enjoyed this show. I usually like more adult fare but give me a supernatural bend and I'm very open to it. This was a fun show to watch. Wednesday Addams is such a fun character and I just loved watching her. I would definitely recommend it...
Bullet Train - This one got to Netflix pretty quick, eh? Super violent but I liked it. I thought it was very entertaining.
Andor - Look, I love The Mandalorian but damn, Andor was amazing from start to finish and I am so glad that there's going to be a second season. I went into this show with that thought I'm sure lots of people had-- why do we need to know this story, this character? I had that thought when Obi-Wan Kenobi was released and in the end, I thought it was a good series but served more as fluff than anything. Andor, on the other hand, presented us with this character we know and expanded the world around him. Yes, it's his journey but so too the characters around him. I found the series utterly compelling and intriguing. It took the things I didn't care about from the prequel series (politics and the like) and made those things reasons for the actions of the characters. It's such a well done show. Can't wait to see what's next in that world...
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - This was really a wonderful movie. There was such grief throughout but also, finally, hope. I saw this on opening day and yes, I cried. I haven't gone back to the theatre to watch it again but once I will end up buying it on disc. I like it that much. If you loved the first Black Panther, then you've already seen its sequel.
Willow - We started watching this one yesterday, after watching the original movie. I remember the movie as one of the ones playing at the movie theatre when I first started working there. As we were watching the movie last night, I realized that I'd never watched it all the way through. The tv show is interesting enough to keep watching and so it goes.
RANDOM MUSINGS
- Dusted off my resumé and my intro letter, updated my references, then applied. Let's see what happens...
- We finally had some rain these past couple of days. And it's sweater weather! I know it won't last too long so I am definitely enjoying it.
- We bought a new truck! It's a 2023 Toyota Tacoma. I'm not the primary driver so most I can say is it's comfortable riding in the passenger seat.

- We watched a lot of soccer during Thanksgiving break. The USA team played their last game yesterday and we watched it with other soccer fans early in the morning. It was great! Although it wasn't the result we all wanted.

- I might miss writing for NaNoWriMo. Maybe this means I need to start another story. Oh, maybe a short story...

Well yeah, I did get that impression from reading what the crew has to say on a bunch of stuff on the forums, especially since that whole SAVE KQ9 thing, it's all gone to their heads. I once posted that I didnt like the shadows and flame effects and the entire thread was taken off and the forum threatened with a lawsuit. Add that with the fact that the teams more bored people surf the web for posts like this one and then try to shut down sites that even hint the game might stink. many TSL people were either fired or quit due to issues with the team. Just know there was an original kq9 project worked on called "It takes two to tangle" and. nothing was wrong with kq7!!! it was like kq4!! just new! I loved the art style in kq7 it was like vampyre story without being as dark!įor more facts based on this subject lemme know in pm. I have alot of info that I cant discuss or TSL might come here and tell telltale to shut down the forum. Between the decaying remnants of civilization, you discover a terminal for Worldnet, the global network that recorded all human activities. Where are all the humans? Upon returning from your 100 year voyage in the milky way, you find earth empty and abandoned. One of my all time favorites is Portal from Acitvision on the Amiga, although not a typical point and click adventure. Generally if you don't have a nice local store you might want to buy new stuff via Amazon and old stuff via eBay. I don't have so much time to dig them all out now but here are two links which might help you: Only played the Runaways and well nothing to get excited about.Īnd and and.there are so many. I didn't like part one and never played part two but others say that Dreamfall is much better. The bigger the number the worse they got. Part 1 is one of the best adventures ever made! The others are good to okayish. TTG helped out on the concept of Ankh 1, right? If you buy Ankh then watch out for the gold version as this package contains both, Ankh 1 Special Edition and Ankh 2. O Ankh 1+2 (Ankh 1 is also available for osx and linux (ported by ), Ankh 2 will be ported too.)

It's got the requirements for Sierra and it has a link to go to the Sierra page. As a matter of fact at the bottom of this page for High Sierra there is a link to the same page but for Sierra. So this is great! But what if your Mac is even older than that. It has some general instructions and, most importantly, it has a link right here that will open up the Mac App Store to the page for macOS High Sierra. On this upgrade page here for High Sierra it has the requirements for upgrading to High Sierra. Now if you want to see a compatibility check for Mojave just to be sure whether or not you can upgrade to it, Apple has a page for that as well with all the requirements for upgrading to Mojave.

If I search for Mac OS it doesn't come up. If I search for High Sierra it doesn't come up. Well, you can still get to those in the Mac App Store but you won't find them by searching. Like, for instance, maybe you're running Sierra but your Mac can run High Sierra and for some reason you haven't gotten around to upgrading to High Sierra yet. So how do you get to a newer operating system that can run on your computer but is newer than what you've got. As a matter of fact if you don't see it here and you can't get to it in the Mac App Store that probably means your Mac is too old. But if your Mac is too old you won't be able to. If you want to upgrade to Mojave you can simply search for Mojave in the Mac App Store and it comes up and you can upgrade from there. You get the latest features and you get the best security. I'm a big advocate of always running the latest software.
