Wow you really went off the other day but at least it was worth it 😪 I normally look at the scenery when I’m on a road trip, but then I get bored of it and decide to sleep bc there’s nothing else to do. Pearls are so good. Like most places I go to don’t add anything to the pearls so it’s just bland squishy balls but the place I frequent adds I think honey to sweeten them. It gives the pearls life istg. It tastes so good 🤤 hollering is a funny word. For some reason I always associate it with yodelling which makes me laugh

Hahah I think it’s me. I haven’t heard anyone say “go ham” except for the people who go to my school. I find it really funny tho so I try to incorporate it whenever I can LOL easily burnt? Can’t relate but apparently I easily tan. There’s this one diagonal stripe on my shoulder that separates pale me and tan me which ??? How did that happen and what was I wearing for that to happen??

It’s all fun and games until you go outside and see a mountain of snow waiting for you to be shovelled. But there are some good aspects to winter, like skating and skiing and all that fun stuff. Snow is so heavy?? Or maybe I’m just weak but after I finish shovelling I’m beat. Gardening is not my thing. There’s too many bugs involved flying around 🥴

YES OMG LATTES ARE SO EXPENSIVE. I pay around the same amount and my wallet cries every time. pearls are Dangerous, i once drank a smoothie and there were pearls in it and i couldn’t see them bc there were like. only 3 and they were Buried under the smoothie but i choked and almost died but i chewed one of them and it’s like. so weird. snow is fun for like a day and then i get tired LOL i csn only handle wet socks and a red nose for so long 😔 i tried skiing one time and i did so bad that the instructor had to hold me down and walk with me down the slope. i fell so many times i think he hated me 😳 i’m also rly bad at skating? i went w my friends once and i held both of their hands and still managed to bring both of them down when i fell. a cute guy once helped me when i was struggling to walk so 🥴 not my brightest moment tbh,, trying to walk in skates while on ice. do u enjoy skiing/skating? also gardening is. gross. worms and dirt and the sun i’m not here for it.

Barcelona in Spain or Catalonia? This just my trip story

This time for Barcelona! When i was getting this place, it was part of Spain though lately it’s been known controversially as independent country called Catalonia. This city has different style of building among European countries. Unfortunately, we had no many times to be here like only 1 and half day. After heading out from Paris, we arrived at late night. We just directly heading to our hotel by bus from airport and continued by public transportation. Not far from bus stop, we were heading to hostel by walk. We gotta get up early because the next day some of us had visitation on Camp Noe stadium. For me due to the lack of knowledge and not interested at football issue, me and some pals decided to not join my other friends to get touring the stadium. Camp Noe is a big stadium, well known for football lovers and home stadium of FC Barcelona. If you are very football you must know this club right?! While we were waiting for our friends of having tour, we waited in front of the stadium and as usual just took many picts. The ticket of that touring around 20-25 euros. Inside, you can see the football field, stadium seats, and also museum that filled by trophies. Well, I’m not expert of it and I even never get in to stadium for sure yet I never realize I came over the stadium that is very very well renowned. Ah ya, Camp noe has their official store and sell many merchandises and souvenirs with their theme Barcelona FC. Funny story, i was told by my friend who was joining the tour. They were offered by stadium’s staff many souvenir which could be bought. The funny one is that my friend was offered a transparent ball filled by grass, and the staff told her “This is a precious grass which is poured by Messi’s sweat when he’s playing football”. unfortunately i don’t know the price. I just wonder how precious it is (?).

Well, actually for this trip which took so short time around 1 and half, i don’t really remember of which place i visit in order. What i quite remember is that we visited the big church that is actually famous and completely different style from western Europe. It’s called Sagrada Familia though we decided to not get in to this church since we only had short time and saving money is the main reason haha. What i know about this Basilica is designed by Antonio Gaudi). I just knew the name of Gaudi from visiting this city. unfortunately I never knew this artist before. Besides, it takes very very long time to build this church due to its funding and resources. It has delayed for years and It was still under construction when i was there. This church’s construction relies on donations because that time, the government could not afford to build it by themselves.

Besides there is a museum called Casa Batllo by Antonio Gaudi, and again i did not get in to this place. That was one of masterpieces of Gaudi in Barcelona. It has unique architecture and some says it has unique interior as well.

On our walk, we met a field that has lots of birds. Just dreaming when our country has this scenery where many birds can fly like in nature and fly like their home. Well, we can do this! we can do this! just actually change of our perspective first and upgrade our education or might polish up our human resource as well! still long to go! i know :( yet it doesn’t mean impossible. ok moving on! we were going to La Ramblas then. It is different district which provides lots of street performers, bars, restaurants, or even sex museum and leading right down towards the port and beaches. We just looked around that place and got lost in the market which was cool btw. They offered lots of snacks and fresh sea food. It’s killing me! Afterwards we got to mosque that was taken place in center as well. lil bit astonishing, because the mosque is in the corner unfortunately it’s near to prostitution activities. Yeah, that’s pretty making me shocked. After finishing the pray, we continued our walk. We stayed in this center quite long, and had the most luxurious lunch ever! (sorry lil bit dramatic) . We ate Paella that is origin from Spain. Around 12 euros we spent and we ordered 4 portions. This evening just for ladies. I didn’t even expect this happened. To be honest, Paella has smt in my heart, the shrimps tho the shells tho! waw! The taste is like nasi goreng but different hmm, like with more soy sauce but different ugh i don’t even know how to describe it. Taste it one more time i will tell you then haha.

And our last trip before heading out this country is that we going to port and beach. hmm quite good, no garbage, clean, but the birds’s poop tho. That’s the negative side. Their poop are inevitable and ubiquitous. you cant avoid it. you havta careful then. Well after getting exhausted and almost night, we were heading out to airport i guess. Yeayy, due to winter or spring (?), the night is after 9/10. so that like you don’t feel like its night already yet you’re wrong dude. Finally we getting to the airport. I think we have experienced in 2 airports of Reus and Girona, the farthest one and pretty close one (if i’m not mistaken). Ah ya, its fortunate having no mess in this city even though we were really really exhausted due to short trip yet we made it! at least we ever been in Catalonia thought Madrid which has expensive plane ticket made us change our destination. Can you imagine from France to Spain/Catalonia this day (Barcelona) only took 10 euros with having direction form west to north? even cheaper than Flix bus. Well fyi, Ryan air always being first option because their price just insane! yet you gotta double check ok!

because the airport always taking place on far away from city. For example from Paris city to airport in Paris which is a departure area for Ryan air taking less more 2 hours. and should pay around 10 euros or more (i forget sorry). The price almost same with plane’s ticket price. Well we always have trip in budget, try hard to save our money and minimize our expenditure. because we are still students and limit on money (sad face). Yet so blessed we sometimes get some discounts or even free for getting in some museums and attractions (like on Louvre Museum in Paris) and others. at least it could cutting in our expenditure. Keep in budget yet keep dreaming on traveling. Seeing the world and meeting strangers are nice experiences since you can take advantage on your every trip by learning smt new, being more organized, being more open minded, having stranger friends etc. I have got some hilarious and interesting conversation in my trip rather than having it in my uni. well it depends tho. depends on your destiny. just make your own journey wherever! this is just my lucky trip with aids by my parents, family and of course God. thanks to everyone who always supports me! Camino De Santiago - my experience

Ooo you wanna know about the camino?

Thanks to the 20 odd people who have messaged me asking “Why on earth are you walking across Spain Steph you crazy”, I’ve decided to write a lil post. Look it might be massive. I have no idea, which is funny because I have no freaking idea about this thing even after 2 days.

Um, so I’ll start off by briefly explaining what the Camino de Santiago is. It’s a catholic pilgrimage that ends at the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. Legend says that it is a pilgrimage where all of your sins are forgiven… My fingers are crossed. Over time however, many people choose to do the camino for different reasons other than religion - some of them being spiritual, needing a break or just wanting a challenge.

There are many different routes, the most popular being the french way (which is what I chose to do). The beginning of the french way starts in St Jean Pied de Port, which is on the french side of the Pyrenees. It is just over 800km long and goes through north western Spain. During the camino, you cross small villages, ancient towns and gorgeous scenery. Everyones camino is different! Some people start at different points, some choose to walk from Santiago to St Jean, and some cross through the different routes along the way.

Before I babble on about my experience and give a few tips, I’ll pre babble on why I chose to do this.

I heard about this trek from my aunty in December 2015. After a pretty horrid year, I guess you could say that I wasn't in the greatest headspace. I hated uni, I’d been constantly injured for a number of years and all I wanted to do was travel but I had no money. The camino is cheap. You can do it off 15 euro a day or less if you really wanted to. That really stuck in my head. I ended up leaving uni anyway in 2016, and I decided that this was going to be an outlet in which i could clear my lil brain. Also was looking to gain some confidence as well.i

Arriving/Day 1

I caught a flight from Melbourne to Paris, then caught a train down to St Jean Pied de Port. I had booked an airbnb (linked) for the night as I was arriving at a later time. If you are arriving after 2pm time, I strongly suggest pre booking a place to stay as albergues tend to fill up by that time!

St Jean was honestly one of my favourite places. It is stunning and the atmosphere is buzzing as everyone is so excited to get up in the morning and start walking!! Make sure you get a good sleep on the first night, as the walk over the Pyrenees the next day is by far the hardest part of the camino.

Why the hardest day is the first I will never know, but I wasn't exactly expecting this to be super hard. I was pretty lucky to meet 3 lovely irish ladies (the first lot of irish ladies) at breakfast and we walked together for the next few days. Within the first 2km, you reach super steep hills that make you think that it isn't going to get any worse than this. But they do, and the terrain gets even worse as well. I sound as if this is torture, something that you wouldn't even want to do. But it’s the views and the hype of the first day that really gets everyone going. Unlike any other days on the camino, there is only 1 place in the 1st 27km that you can stop at (which is around the 13km mark). It’s definitely the day you stop to take the most photos. You pass through beautiful mountains, endless greenery and get to be amongst some gorgeous horses! The first day ends at Rounsevelles for the majority of people and other than a hotel, there is only 1 albergue to stay (it is pretty huge and you wouldn't have a problem finding a bed). I slept like a baby that night.

I’m not going to do through every day, as most of them become a blur. A blur thats pretty common in my life back home: Get up, walk, eat, walk, eat, sleep. I will however run through some of the highlights I had!

Meeting people!

I am so glad that I came on this myself and I highly recommend that if you choose to do this, you come alone! There is saying that goes around on the walk: “You walk alone, but you are never really alone”. Whenever you pass somebody on the camino or vice versa, everyone says “Buen Camino!” which basically means “Have a good camino” (make sure you do this… some people get crabby if you dont)

I was pretty lucky to meet the people I did. The first of them being the Irish ladies - Emma, Maureen and Eibhlin. We walked the first 4 days to Pamplona together (my favourite city) and had the most delicious pasta and pizza. I was pretty sad to say goodbye to them, other people who had started at the same time as us thought I was Irish too which became a running joke for the rest of the camino!

Who was next… Ah! Yes MORE IRISH LADIES and a bunch of men. I’d come across someone I didn't exactly like… We just didn't click (You get that on the camino, just like you do at home). Being the person I am, I couldn't exactly say “Fuck off”. Anyway, when I heard these lovely voices behind me I quickly latched on like leech.

So in the new group I found (and continued on with) we had 3 ladies from Ireland (Deirdree, Cathy and Marianne), 3 men from England (John, Paul and Harry), 1 from Denmark (Bo), 1 from the USA (Kevin) and 1 from Tasmania (Trevor)- my singing partner. So many different personalities, yet we all just meshed together. I think this was when I truly felt the most comfortable on the camino, as I felt respected and supported the whole time I was with them.

Everyone you meet on the camino has a different story about why they are doing it. I’ve always found that it is easier to talk about personal things with strangers because it’s unlikely that they know anyone that you know, and you are more inclined to be completely honest and put yourself out there. I learnt many lessons from many people.

Along the way, we met another 2 American gals from California. They were 20, which was pretty cool as I had only met one other person close to my age. I don't think I have played that many games of cards in my life! Halle taught me that I hate frisbee.

Being alone

There is nothing better than some alone time! I loved getting up early and walking by myself. If I wanted to walk 10km that day, I could. Or if I wanted to stop and rest for a bit, I could and not have pressure from other people to keep going. Putting in my headphones and jamming out for 3+ hours was sick, and I definitely got a lot of good thinking done.

In saying that though, sometimes being alone sucked. I was pretty much by myself for 3 or 4 days and in that time, I hurt my knee real bad, fell down the stairs in front of 20 odd people and ended up balling my eyes out, walking an entire day in the rain and getting lost. In hindsight, it forced a bit of independence out of me.

Choosing to stop

I contemplated stopping my camino a number of times, but somehow things got better each day and I was able to get myself to my next destination. With a bad knee, blisters and my shin, I really didn't think that I was going to catch a break. I think mentally more than anything, it hurt. It wasn't until I got to Villafranca that realised I had a problem that from experience, doesn't end well at all. It was pretty tough stopping with only around 7 days to go, because I knew if I really wanted to, I could suck it up and limp the last 200km. But the last thing I wanted was to be on crutches for the rest of my holiday.

You can always come back to the camino!

FEW TIPS

Just a few little things that might help you if you decide to walk the camino/part of it!

Train PROPERLY: Get your bag and your boots a few months before, fill it with 10% of your body weight and walk. And do it again and again.

Get up early: Walking before 6.30am is beautiful, especially in summer. It’s not too cold and it makes the day go faster as well. Also helps when finding a place to stay as places can get booked out in peak season! Although I didn't go to Sarria, apparently it is pretty hard to find a place to stay if you don't leave early or book ahead!

Avoid pilgrim meals: One of my biggest regrets. The pilgrim meal sounds awesome, for around 10 euro you get 2 meals, a desert, wine, bread and water. The majority of the time they are pretty average (it’s almost like they have plates of food ready to go and zap it n the microwave). A lot of places you stay in have a kitchen, and it’s much cheaper to cook your own food. It’ll probably taste better as well.

Trekking poles: I didn't bring trekking poles because i didn't think i was going to need them. But let me tell you, if Jim hadn't of given me that one pole, i would have stopped before I got to day 7. If you haven't hiked much, GET THEM.

BLISTERS: So I had a reputation along the camino for having the most fucked up feet. I think I tried every single method to get prevent them/treat them, but seriously the best way is just leaving them. Compeed is good if you are prone to blisters in certain areas, but as soon as you have any sort of blister or even rubbing, putting compeer on just spreads it out and causes more blisters. It also keeps moisture in, which is the opposite of what you want. I found simply wrapping around the blister with a bandage much more comforting than anything.

Learn some spanish: Locals like it when people make an effort. After St Jean, many of them didn't speak english or very much at all. Learn key phrases and words! It makes things a lot easier + you also feel like you're a lil more cultured.

Caris LeVert was the Nets’ best kept secret. Now, the word is out.

LeVert set a new career high, hit a game-winner and is off to an impressive start for a Brooklyn team that needs him.

BROOKLYN — If I told you that two games into the season, Caris LeVert would be averaging 27.5 points, five rebounds and 4.5 assists with a Player Efficiency Rating north of 28, you would have either scoffed at any statistic so early into the year or Googled LeVert’s name before laughing off the idea. And both are fair and appropriate responses to an impressive stat line this soon into the season.

But if you’ve been paying attention, there’s a chance you saw this coming; that on a Nets team desperate for a playmaker on the wing, their best kept secret would step into the light.

Caris LeVert isn’t a secret anymore. And if the word wasn’t out before, it for sure is now.

A game after tying his career-high in a loss to the Pistons, LeVert eclipsed it, scoring 28 points in a 107-105 win against the Knicks on Friday. He shot 8-of-13 from the field and scored 15 points in the fourth quarter, including the game winner and Brooklyn’s last seven in the final two minutes of the period.

“He was our leader tonight,” Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson said. “That was a heck of a finish at the end.”

With 1:55 remaining and the game tied at 100, LeVert took a screen, and when Tim Hardaway Jr. went under, he stepped back and knocked down a three. It’s a play he wouldn’t have made earlier last season, one that shows his development into a perimeter threat over the years.

And with the game tied at 105 and the clock winding down from 10, LeVert sized up Hardaway, again: “I wanted to get the shot I wanted to get, and I didn’t wanna rush it,” he said. “I feel like I got a good look and I was confident about it.”

LeVert went left, crossed right and took Hardaway to the rack. He got the step on his man and hit a double clutch layup to seal the deal.

After LeVert missed a potential game-winner in the season opener against the Pistons, he told Atkinson he owed him one. It’s safe to say for now his tab is covered. And if LeVert keeps playing like this, one day he’ll be able to buy the bar.

“He’s a good player. He’s an explosive athlete,” Knicks head coach David Fizdale told reporters after the game. “He can really put the ball on the floor. His three ball has improved tremendously. That kid can play man, and I think he’s gonna have a breakout year this year.”

LeVert’s early play is turning heads. He’s making an early bid for Most Improved Player of the Year, even though it’s the last thing on his mind.

What’s on his mind is a schedule that’s helped build good habits over the summer.

“I get some shots in before practice, I get some shots in after practice. I watch a lot of film, and I just repeat honestly,” he told SB Nation. “I do the same things every single day.”

He’s watched some of that film with veteran forward Jared Dudley, who said LeVert has a “herky-jerky game” and invoked James Harden’s name as a comparison.

“His euro, his side-step, he takes a long step and it’s hard for the bigs to time it,” Dudley said. “He’s gonna be really unstoppable to guard. It’s gonna be nice to see him develop.”

Two games in is way too early to jump to conclusions and LeVert has a long road ahead of him. But if you’ve been paying attention, you may have seen this coming. Last season, he was Brooklyn’s best kept secret.

Insurance not paying a claim!?

Boy this is a good one & I don't know what to do Next! I went with the Lizard insurance even though they are Snakes and don't want to pay for any Claims! It started in 2010 with my truck, I took it to where they told me and they only paid for cosmetic damage even though there was a lot more including my steering was so bad I had to stop driving it. I wanted to take it to a shop that I had my truck lowered which because of we're I lived and the shop was I couldn't drive it, 65 miles. I had AAA tow it to my new house and from there after 2 years of not driving my truck they agreed to have it towed 7 miles to the shop. Well I told the claims adjuster what was wrong, he told me I needed to write a list and drop it off at the shop so I just got my Chopper back from the shop and went down to where my truck was a wrote a list of what I thought was wrong. Here is where the first of my troubles started, on the way home I am riding on the freeway and a truck to the right of me had a blow out and a Giant tire flew right in front of me, I couldn't do anything other than to run it over. It happened so fast, I hit it and made a brown spot in my shorts, jk. I then noticed smoke coming from my Chopper, it was Bad so I pulled over and noticed that my tail light was knocked off and caused some damage and the bold that holds my tail light on came off and rubbed on my new Avon 250 tire and Melted the side wall. I was able to ride home and once I saw all the damage I knew it was a problem. I called the Lizard and made a claim. The claims adjuster called me and said he will be out that Saturday, so saturday came and I never heard from him, I had his number and left a message, so this went on until Thursday and I called the lizard again and they transferred me to the AH boss and I left him a voicemail. Well I didn't hear from him as a few more days went by so Called back and got his boss's boss. The next day I got a nasty voicemail from the claims adjuster bitching at me. I called customer service and told them he went off on me and they can hear my voicemail too but no one listened to me. So I was told to call his boss, I said then I don't want this claims adjuster to come out, I don't want to speak to him or have anything to do with him. They were so sorry and said they totally understand and later that day the big boss called and I told him I hadn't heard from the adjuster other than a nasty voicemail and I want someone else to come out and not him. The boss said I understand and he will take care of it. So two days later the rude claims adjuster showed up at my house to take care of the claim, I was shocked it was the AHole I didn't want to come out but his bosses boss told him he better get out there and take care of this. Well once he was there, he wasn't as nice as he had been and couldn't be more rude than he was. I told him what had happened and the Damage, all he said was Prove it, Prove it, Over and over with everything I showed him. It caused major damage to my shocks and front forks, he laughed and said they are designed to roll over things and that it couldn't happen from hitting a tire in the road, well it can because that's exactly what happened. He was such a AHole I said, why did you even come out, did you just come here to be a @ss Hole or what!! He didn't say a word and just left. They paid out just a little for damages to the paint, tail light and the tire. The tired was new and cost 500 but they paid me 100 bucks for it. Mean while my truck is at the shop still to get looked over for the damage and they didn't pay a dime and the worst part was when I got the truck back from being towed, I started after the tow truck drive let it down and it sounded funny, then I smelt burning plastic so I opened the hood and my entire air intake system was gone!!! The burning was th vacuum hoses laying on the headers. I called the shop where my truck was and they said they are not sure what's going on but to call back. Well they are no longer in business and I lost all that so I called and opened a claim, now they are investigating me over this. So I have damage from 2010 that has never been fixed, my bike isn't right and someone had stolen my Volant cold air intake that's not being taken care of. What do I do? This is BS, I don't deserve this from my insurance Company and for them to treat me like they have, not pay out the claims. I needed my truck smoged Dec 31st so because all the parts to have it smogged weren't there I couldn't have it down and I have a ton of late fees with the DMV in California. My Volant is smog legal, I have the Ca numbers for it but it doesn't matter, I am getting the run around like no tomorrow. I will Drop GIECO and go with Farmers but not until my truck and bike are fixed. I have called everyone I could at Geico and no help!""
