meaning he had a first day of running. a first week. a first month. a first year.

so,, imagine:

he runs the inner sections first. then gradually, he runs the outer sections. mostly alone at first, until alby decides they need partners.

each day his legs becoming more tired. more sore.

he hides it. he hides the pains in his sides as he runs. he hides the pain that shoots up and down his legs from overuse. he hides the fact that his lungs feel like they could explode if he runs anymore.

he hides all of that bc he’s the fastest runner,, which eventually leads to him being named keeper.

none of the gladers know that he spends the rest of his day/night massaging his legs and stretching. none of them notice how his face twitches in pain when he sits down or stands up after sitting for too long. none of them see how hard it is for him to hide his pain not only physically but mentally as well.

“The opposite of an intellectual… you really think you could do that, Caffrey?” Jones asked, reading through the cover description.

“Do what?” Neal responded, blinking at them in confusion. Instead of the overly innocent smile that would usually accompany a question like that from Neal, his face was just blank curiosity. It seemed that for once the con man wasn’t messing with them; he just hadn’t been paying attention. 

“Be the opposite of an intellectual,” Diana repeated for him with an incredulous chuckle. 

Neal’s brows furrowed lightly in confusion. ‘What’s an… intellectual?” he asked, seeming to struggle to recall the word. 

Diana scrutinized him, but despite all the years she had spent working with Neal Caffrey, she couldn’t find a single tell that he was lying. By all appearances, Neal Caffrey genuinely did not know the word ‘intellectual.’

“On second thought, that’s kinda scary,” Jones decided, taking an unconscious step backwards. “Please stop.” 

Neal finally broke, giving them a devious grin and a theatrical bow. Diana had to admit, seeing firsthand how convincingly Neal could become someone diametrically opposed to his actual self was a bit terrifying. The short demonstration had left her heart pounding and breathing slightly shallow. 

“Remember this the next time you doubt me,” Neal warned cheerfully, winking at them before sauntering away. Diana and Jones looked at each other once he was gone.

“That was scary, right?” Jones asked.

“Yeah,” Diana confirmed, “that was definitely scary.” 

Then an idea hit her. “I wanna see Peter’s reaction!”

Did you know that writers are people and you shouldn't feed their fucking writing into an AI just bc you wanted to see (an inferior version of) the ending for their fic.

Troy and Abed kiss several times before actually becoming a couple. After all, they recreate and film their favourite movies and scenes all the time. Like the Kickpuncher movie where they filmed a sex scene together because Britta couldn't play Kickpuncher’s love interest. And there's some other movies they recreate where they have to kiss. Eventually, when trying to think of more movies to recreate, Troy finds himself suggesting more movies where the two of them would have to kiss. He doesn't immediately realise he's doing it, but he just loves kissing Abed. And when he realises that he not only loves kissing Abed, but loves Abed in general, Troy also then realises that he keeps suggesting scenes where they can kiss. Troy's not sure if Abed's noticed it, nor is he sure on what to do. Troy tries to suggest movies where they don't have to kiss, but really he starts missing it. Then Abed's actually the one to suggest a scene where they have to kiss again. This time around, when they kiss it feels different than the other kisses. It's not just a movie kiss, it's more than that. They keep going and being close even though the movie only calls for one quick kiss. They confess after that one
