The one gym class thing I ever enjoyed was this weird twice yearly ritual called Hot 'N Spicy.

The gym teachers would take ALL the gym and gymnastics equipment, the bars, the mats, the rope nets from somewhere, cones, springboards, those little stand up pole markers, ropes, tires, punch bags, ALL THEIR SHIT, and arranged it into this URGENTLY UNSAFE course around the whole gym. Then they turned you loose on it one or two at a time, and you went absolutely apeshit trying to do it all. It was, I stress again, incredibly unsafe. Lots of duct tape. It was the 80s and standards were different.

There was zero judgment for not being able to do a piece, but you did get a final score of how many challenges you did and how fast you were, but it wasn't graded. It was legit for fun.

And kids were FERAL ABOUT IT. We'd find out Hot 'N Spicy was that Friday and we would shit out collective pants. We RAGED over this genuine hazard to life and limb, even the least athletic of us. Even me. We were trying not to DIE, we didn't have time to laugh at the slower kids or the fat kids (I was both). Kids you didn't even know who had finished would scream and cheer for you, because you didn't DIE! And you got a little Gatorade at the end. It was awesome.

And let me tell you, I fucking shredded at this. It didn't matter how chunky or slow I was, or how strong. All that mattered was dogged determination and no fear of death. I could do that. Sometimes other kids would help haul me over shit because I was very short, but mostly it was me against this insane bullshit, and I loved it. Running start to climb an 8-foot gym mat twice my height? I fucking did it. Shove the giant tire out of the way? I had no strength but did have a low center of gravity, so I just plunged into it and let it swing me around with some momentum. Legs too short for the tire run? Just Naruto ran across the inner edges before Naruto was a thing. All the while rage screaming. Screaming was encouraged.

I should have hated this, but it was just great.

And they would let you go again.

I realize there were probably a lot of kids that couldn't do it. A friend busted his arm the week before, there were kids in wheelchairs, and I feel bad about it now, I don't know what they could have done instead, but...

If gym classes offered Feral Mayhem Days regularly that were conducted like this with no teams and very little social element to create bullying, I think a lot of unenthusiastic but able-bodied kids would have much better memories. Probably some would die, I don't know, but at least we wouldn't have to climb ropes or do pull ups again.

Or at least very similar. Hes so pretty and slutty i love my wife sm 8.5/10, -.5 bc i wanted to see him w painted nails, -1 for the newest official art w the dogs out bc it genuinely took 10 years off my lifespan

#2 okay honestly,, i had such a hard time deciding whether izana or haru should be in 2nd place bc both their outfits fucked. But the peacock feathers? Beautiful. The coordination between the shoes and the top of the jacket? On par. He would totally paint his nails black. I also love the yin and yang like how they had on the tenjiku uniforms. Especially how its the little dot on the peacock feather its so extra. 9/10, -1 for the bandages i know ur not well sweetie but this is unnecessary

#3 WAIST ON THINNAAAAA god he is perfect. Love the water lilies AND THE FACT THAT ITS SEE THROUGH. He looks very classy and elegant and vibrant and pretty. And why they got Miguel wrong.

Mini-Ramble: The Concept of 'Can-dom'

a.k.a the writers really love Hobie and just fucking hate Miguel and it's borderline funny.

So, you know we are called fans, and we have a fandom. The fandom writes 'fanon'.

But what do you call the group of people who write canon?

And can the people who write canon also be a fandom in and of itself?

As someone who has worked on TV and film sets in NYC - across a couple of different departments - I can assure you:

YES.

And they act JUST LIKE US.

And I call it Can-dom.

And there's no better example of this, than the ATSV script.

Look at how they talk about Hobie:

To the writer who described Hobie as 'strong, long, and skinny-hot' and his guitar as 'throbbing' idk what you were on that day but keep it up.

Look at them rubbing their little writer hands together going 'hehehe they're gonna love this mfer to death he's so hot'

Miles calling Hobie cool and Hobie agreeing is literally just the writers complimenting themselves on how insanely rad and attractive they made their own character. I love it.

They could've done so much worse or described him as rowdy or cocky or rough but they're just like 'he's hot. really fucking hot.'

And everybody was in on it.

The designers read the script and was like 'really really attractive? the coolest fucking guy you've ever seen? ok boss'

and then drew a black cop killer with natural hair and beautiful sharp black features

Then the animation team looked at Hobie and was like YEAH HE'S SUPER FUCKING COOL

Then made a supercool technology just for the insanely rad punk character

AND THEY WENT TO DANIEL KALUUYA and had him do the super cool ironic funny lines for the super cool rad fan-favorite-to-be character

And then the whole production team looked at Hobie and they all looked back at their work and his arc and lines and design and animation style and they were like

Because after months and months and months of collective effort and going 'this guy has to be so likeable that disliking him is almost a moral failing'

And then just like us they finally saw the finished product and we're like

'THAT'S A WRAP. CUT. SEND THIS SHIT TO THE PRINTERS. He can't get any cooler we did it.'

Cause as someone who has worked in TV & Film and had been in the offices I can tell you:

Screenwriters are not some big wigs that come to work in suits and sit around on chunky laptops in complete silence sending emails

They are normal ass people in a cramped ass office and cubicles who joke with their co-workers, come in in jeans and a 'casual tshirt', and sit there chilling revising the same script a dozen times because they came up with a new idea that HAS to be in it. And sometimes they be having dogs in the offices.

They're dorks just like us. That's how they got there. By obsessing over the tiniest minute shit in stories and getting way too into characters and writing out our little stories.

To think they were squealing about Hobie Brown this whole time for years while making him.

And then giving him to the fandom and we're like FUCKING THANK YOU HE'S OURS AND WE LOVE HIM.

I know a lot of the time it may come off as a shady corporation manipulating the punk aesthetic for revenue - while it is that - its also an office full of writers and animators and designers literally making a mini fandom between them and snickering at their own jokes and ideas as they write this story I love it

It makes me think that - while the language towards Miguel is like.. undoubtedly questionable and something of necessary discussion -

I also just think that the office fandom just.. didn't fucking like him.

Like in the writers room over time they didn't like him and wanted to bully him 'ayo this dude is a clown and he's wildin out like a BEAST'

And putting in lines of Gwen clowning him just because the writers wanted to make fun of Miguel 😭😭😭

like.. just the thought of that.

- and the thought of the ATSV writers team just ganging up on him only for the animation team to turn around and be like 'give him the thiccest ass imaginable. make it clap when he walk'

HILARIOUS.

And then for the production team to have to look at this script of Miguel and look at his dummy think design and just sigh and be like 'fine okay the lines are fine but you HAVE TO TONE THE ASS DOWN'.

We bully our OCs all the time

And yeah they took that shit wayyyy too far cause like... The Spot murdered people why are y'all not looking at him and also Gwens dad is an asshole

But a part of me feels like the writers and production were fandom before fandom was fandoming.

Just like us they hyperfixated on two characters, the same characters the fandom would later.

And like the fandom originally did, they really really liked Hobie and just REALLY REALLY REALLY didn't like Miguel.

We're all like 'haha let's bully the shit outta Miguel as a little treat' and then they start taking it too far 😭😭

I'm just going to lay myself to (semi-)peace with this thought. I know it's pure speculation - I repeat, speculation - but like, writers are genuinely just like us. I wouldn't put it past them.

With the way the script is narrated I wouldn't be surprised if the first draft they put

**MIGUEL collapses to the ground with GABRIELLA in his hands as she DEPIXELATES. A look is devastation crosses his face. Ha, get owned, you fucking idiot.**

Also they absolutely know about fanfiction. I haven't heard them talk about it and I don't know how much they know. But they know.

They may not be in the shows fandom, but they've usually been into older fandoms like Star Trek and thus know about the fanfic and shipping stuff.

-However, after you met your husband, you left that life behind, choosing to never fight again, instead becoming a housewife.

-(Love) learned quickly that old saying was true, just a bit modified for you, ‘you can take the gangster out of the streets, but you can’t take the gangster out of the gangster’…. He wasn’t sure how that worked either but that’s what he went with.

-When this year’s Ragnarok tournament was announced, as it had become a yearly tournament as it had been so entertaining, with big prizes handed out and was no longer fights to the death, Brunnhilde approached you to fight this time.

-You initially refused, “I left that life behind when I became a housewife.” But it was (Love) who managed to convince you, telling you that it was a good way to blow off some steam.

-It was only when you saw one of the prizes, a years’ worth of free groceries that you agreed to join, cracking your knuckles as you grinned almost evilly.

I need to know how you think Ginny or Hp characters in general reacted to the death of Princess Diana. She died right before Ginny left for Hogwarts her 6th year. I know wizards aren’t into muggle culture but Lady Di transcends cultural barriers. Plus that trio looking for the queens purse advert is definitely canon.

i did not expect this ask, and i regret to inform you my response to it was to write the following incredibly stupid ficlet about ginny and the death of princess diana. don't ask me why i did this because i don't know!

The last day of August 1997, she comes downstairs in her dressing gown and finds Kingsley in the kitchen with a Muggle newspaper that says that Princess Diana is dead. ‘Car crash,’ he says, pushes the paper across the table. No-one’s shared news of any sort with her in weeks - the only child and non-Order member of the house, at best an irrelevance and at worse a nuisance for the crumbling wartime resistance - so she forgets about the kettle she's just boiled and sits down, snatches up the paper, reads hungrily. High speed car chase, it says, Diana and her boyfriend, in a tunnel in Paris, being chased down by paparazzi. ‘I met her once,’ says Kingsley, musingly, sipping his tea.

She looks up. ‘Really?’

‘Mmm. With the Muggle PM.’

‘What was she like?’

Kingsley thinks about it. ‘Funny,’ he says. ‘But sad.’ 

She hangs on to the paper. When she’s inevitably ousted from the kitchen by the arrival of yet more Order folk with important business and no trace of interest in her, she takes it up to her room, clears a space on the floor between the maps of the castle she's been memorising and her now dog-eared copy of The Dark Arts Outsmarted and flattens it out on the floor. The Muggle pictures of the princess, of course, don’t move. Yet Diana manages to always be in motion in the photographs, full of life, running and dancing and gallivanting, long legs stretching across roads or dangling off the end of great boats, her speeding across ocean waves on what looks like a water motorbike or down steep snowy slopes on bits of wood with poles in her hands. She's forced to hoist Crookshanks up and out of the way when he tries to paw his way across the pull-out spread of Diana in her wedding dress. 'You used to live with Muggles sometimes, didn't you?’ she demands of a squirming Crookshanks. ‘Show a bit of respect.'

She’d known about the princess before, of course. Hard to avoid her, even among wizards. The Muggleborn girls had started it, tacking up endless pictures of her many outfits on their walls. Their better-blooded peers had followed, and she’d thought even the Slytherins would be unable to deny there was a magic, a magnetism, to Diana, in  fabulous dresses one day and the coolest of boyish suits the next, all draped off of her long, lean frame with an effortless elegance that most of the awkward adolescent girls of the castle could only dream of. There was a time, in the run-up to the Yule Ball, when you couldn’t move for pictures of that dress. ‘It’s her revenge dress,’ Lavender had informed her matter-of-factly at dinner, ‘because her husband cheated on her with a married woman he’d been in love with years before.’ An off-the-shoulder slinky black number with the chunky pearl necklace, the dress had been the envy of every witch in the castle. ‘I’d definitely pull Diggory if I had that dress,’ a sixth-year girl had  lamented to her mates over the sinks in the fifth-floor girls’ bathroom the next day.

That evening, her own dress from her mother had arrived. She’d sent for it, when Neville had asked her to the ball, bestowing upon her the dubious honour of being the second most pitying girl in all of Gryffindor. It’s an old one of Molly’s from the sixties. She’d always admired it on her mum in old photographs taken before she was hers, worn on nights out and parties from a past life that her mother only hints at, with a twinkle in her eye and a firmly zipped lip. Now, though, the dress looked all wrong - too chaste, too floral, not an ounce of sex appeal about it, throughly unmemorable and unlikely to catch a single eye, fresh-pickled toad-green or otherwise.

(In her bunk that night, she'd lain awake and taunted herself with cruel, self-flagellating fantasy. Imagined striding past the Boy Who Lived wearing that dress, the revenge one, making him regret he’d ever asked Cho Chang to the ball, making him forget all about her shiny hair and her pretty smile and her cool friends and her easy grace, making him notice someone else instead - his best mate’s feral little sister who is funny, actually, just not when he’s around, and whom he last seemed to have thought about when he’d hauled her off her own deathbed, and never since.)

As adolescence wore on, though, she’d soured on Diana. Too chic to be likeable, rich girl with a life of frocks and endless frolicking, intolerably poised and swan-like. The sight of her glimpsed on Muggle newsstand in the village stirred up the same feelings of eye-roll envy as her sister-in-law, which always boded ill. Looking at her now, though, she wonders if there wasn’t something she’d missed, something else to her. Diana’s set jaw looks more guarded than she remembered. The wide eyes ringed by thick smudgy black she’d once thought coquettish now look lost, full of reproach.

Dean’s mum, she remembers now, had loved her. ‘She won’t hear a bad word about her,’ he’d said, rolling his eyes. ‘Says she was the best thing that ever happened to that family.’ Ever her father’s daughter, she’d pestered him with endless questions, like she did all things Muggle: about the divorce, about the royals and succession and the Muggle press and the high drama of it all, until he’d got bored and suggested they go find a broom cupboard, get down to more serious business. Wonders how Dean’s mum must be feeling today. But then she remembers her son is, for all intents and purposes, Muggleborn in a new regime that wants him dead, and suddenly feels slightly sick. She puts the paper away, then, and gets back on with packing up her war room for the morning’s train journey out to the front.

Diana’s sons, the paper said, survive her. They’re called William, and Harry. Good names, in her book. She can't help but think of them as she packs, the boys - children, who woke up one morning to find themselves motherless.

‘It’s mayhem in London,’ says her father, that night, over dinner. ‘There’s hundreds of people outside the palace, leaving flowers and things. I’ve never seen anything like it. There'll be a big public funeral - all the royal family will have to be there, including the boys. They'll have no choice. The Muggles are heartbroken. I dread to think what would happen if there was an attack during that - Kingsley, we ought to talk more about that, actually...'

'Those poor children,' her mother whispers, though that’s nothing new, these days — she whispers that every night.

'Are they still in London?' she asks her dad, quietly, over the washing up. 'At Grimmauld? Have you heard anything?'

'No news, dear. I'd tell you if I knew.'

Lying awake that night with her trunk packed, she wonders if this has all passed them by - her brother and almost-sister and the boy who lived she knows she’s supposed to forget. She imagines them sat the table in that grungy basement kitchen, newspaper spread in front of them. Perhaps they, too, have been poring over Diana's finest outfits, in memoriam. Probably not, though — not with a murder to plot, a Dark Lord to kill, a Tom to hunt. Three child soldiers with a war to win.

Still, the thoughts persist as she tries to fall asleep. Thinks about being hunted, boys without mothers, a city full of mourners. Muggles with their tears and their flowers and their prams at the palace gates. It’s like it's the end of something, something fun and frivolous, dress-up and glamour and girlhood. One day, you're thirteen and looking at princesses in party dresses in the newspaper — and the next, you're sixteen, and the newspapers tell you that the parties are over and the princesses are dead. Something about the tragedy of the thing. The pointlessness, the waste.

College AU Vash headcanon’s

-he can swallow multiple pills at once. Wolfwood thinks it’s freaky (it’s the result of Vash having to have multiple medications due to his health conditions). He used to be super freaked out about it but went “fuck it we ball” and tried it. Nai was worried he’d choke.

-Vash hugs a pillow to sleep (soon to be you heheh)

-He has StarWars posters in his room

-he’s been saving up for a Lego Death Star but ends up blowing his savings on smth like donuts (AUDHD impulsiveness). Nai has been wanting to get it for him but doesn’t have the money and figures him learning more financial literacy doesn’t hurt. But he still doesn’t want Vash to go without :( (he loves his brother very much. They’re happy.)

-He has Nai shave his hair like once a month because it grows fast and too long for his liking, so Nai fixes up his undercut while Vash rants about something that’s caught his eye, like how his DND campaign with Wolfwood is going or how a professor has been. (Or.. you).

-He likes the feel of fingerless gloves and owns a few fun pairs. And he has kandi bracelets he likes to fidget with. He lowk wants to be scene but doesn’t really know where to start, so he just has a few small little things he adds onto outfits that give a scene vibe

-Whenever having neutrals, I believe Vash would flock to denim or khaki for a base, giving his clothes more life. The darker clothes he has are sweaters Nai thrifted for him that uphold well in winter. I do believe he’d flock towards a more “vintage” style and would like a 70’s vibe w/ cuffed jeans, but would like more contemporary things added in, like chunky sneakers. He likes a fun silhouette with baggy pants. Also he enjoys patterned button ups + colorful 90’s typa windbreakers and bomber jackets and loves thrifting them even tho Nai says he has plenty (it’s never enough)

-He loves taking craft paint and doing cool little doodles or patterns onto his clothes (when he has time of course) he got Nai into painting/bleaching clothes (since Nai is secretly goth)

-Vash likes movies like Back to the Future, something comforting and easy to watch.

-He loves fun patterned socks- whenever he goes to like a museum gift shop he gets cute socks. Like Coca Cola labeled socks or something with a fun pattern. Speaking of which, he sometimes mismatch’s socks and it drives Nai insane

-He likes street food a lot. Like corn dogs, pretzels; etc. I think he avidly enjoys going to food trucks and eating at a picnic table with friends.

-His vocal stims consist of quotes from StarWars and listening to documentaries on something like: “How 3D printers work”

-He likes video essays on random stuff on YouTube (look at last HC)

Welp my dumbass decided to make Wednesday pokemon trainer cards instead of updating my WIPs. Which I'm going to do after I post this🤣

I'm not fully happy about Tyler, eugene, and the xaviers teams. Those may change.

Almost everyone always gets a legendary/mythical.

I know literally no one will read this or care. But I figured I could post it anyway.

I gave her Skorupi because of Nero, so he's her partner.

Gliscor because he's just a beast of a mon and reminds me of a scorpion/bat that fits Wednesday's dark theme. Tyler had given this to her as a present. On their first anniversary, it immediately became a favorite.

Corviknight because Wednesday is referred to as the Raven, and he just seems like the most raven mon (even though he's a crow). Wednesday found this pokemon back when it was a Rookiedee. It had fallen out of its nest. Instead of feeding it to her mother's Pyroar, she kept it.

Hydreigon because he's just a dark dragon, and I feel like he fits Wednesday's style. Wednesday had found him as a deino, the poor blind Dino had injured himself. She decided to take him in and raise him to become a terrifying dragon.

Dusknoir because he's a big scary ghost that eats souls in his chest. Out of all the ghost types, i feel like this one fits Wednesday the most. This mon snuck up on Wednesday and followed her throughout a haunted graveyard, not giving up until she caught him.

It was between Giratina (the underworld/antimatter legend) or Yveltal. Her legend I chose is Yveltal, He's the legendary of Death, basically destroying everything in sight.

(I feel bad for doing this to Tyler)

His partner - Cubone - because they both lost their moms. Cubone wears his mothers dead skull on his head. Tyler's mother had given this to him just before she passed.

(Might replace.) Bewear - literally because Tyler is sweet & adorable on the outside, but on the inside, he's hiding a dangerous monster, just like bewear.

Mimikyu - because the creature inside the suit just wants to be loved, just like Tyler. So he hides behind a suit made up of a beloved pokemon. But everytime it's trainer looks underneath the suit, they die.

Scovillian - because it's a funny play on Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Two faces, two different personalities.

Garchomp - Because this mon is anger filled and very hard to tame also very powerful. Kinda reminds me of the hyde.

His legend is Mewtwo. A legend made by humans and hates humanity. Reminds me of Tyler's tragic past, hating others who don't understand what he's been through.

Her partner is a shiny Spheal - Honestly, I just feel like Enid would love every single pokemon that's adorable.

Shiny) Politoad because he's just a very happy frog, and I feel like it matches. It Enids a very bubbly personality.

Arcanine - i feel like even though it's a big scary dog, she loves it because it's Fluffy and loyal. Just like Enid.

Lycanroc (Day form) just a little nod to her wolf form.

Dragonair - Honestly, it's just a beautiful mid evo that I feel like Enid would love

And her legend is Mew. It's just a cute, sweet cat that has all the DNA of each pokemon. Something I think Enid would take care of and love.

So Ajax's starter is Ivysaur - because the bulbasaur line is famous for smoking grass

Ekans because of Ajax being a Gorgon and his little snakes poke their heads out sometimes.

Slowbro because it seems like a good pokemon to get high with.

Hisuian Typhlosion because he just looks like a depressed cool boy like my baby Ajax.

Noivern - because I just see Ajax being the chill guy at parties and noiverns ears remind me of speakers.

His legend is a shiny Rayquaza just because he's a giant space snek noodle🤣

Eugene's starter is a shiny caterpie, figured he'd just be a bug type trainee.

Beedrill - because of his powers to control bees.

Heracross- same as the caterpie. Just figured he'd have a bug army.

Dewpider because he's just an adorable bean like Eugene.

Appletun because I just feel like he'd love chunky pokemon. Because chunky pokemon are the best.

wobbuffet because its a psychic pokemon and it's insane ability to use counter and I feel like Eugene would need a happy mon to keep him company.

Yes Eugene doesn't get a legend. Just couldn't find one that fit.

Her partner being Primarina - has to do with her being a siren outcast. Her partner looks like a mermaid and sings like sirens and mermaids are known for.

Being the popular girl at school, I'd imagine she'd have tons of beautiful pokemon. A florges. Being a bouquet of flowers fits that perfectly

Again, Hatterene fits the popular girl status perfectly. Another beautiful fairy type to add to Bianca's team

Bianca would also have a shiny Altaria, it being her pride since it's a rare golden color.

Beautifly - a rare evolution of Wurmple, being very beautiful & every time it flaps its wings, sparkly pollen falls with each flap.

I chose Meloetta fighting form for her mythical pokemon. It has unique singing abilities, and being strong but beautiful would fit Bianca perfectly.

Xavier surprisingly got a card. I didn't want to download a picture of him into my phone so he gets no picture.

He gets a shiny muk as his partner. Because he looks like throw up. Just like how I feel about Xaviers character.

He gets an Exeggutor because it's derpy in a stupid way🤣

Grafaiai because he's an artist.

Garbordor - because it's a pokemon made of trash.

Xavier does get a legend. But it's the worst one. He gets regice because it's a trash legend.🤣

In the early days of last year, I was inspired by some twitter mutuals to post my comics reading in the new year and kept it up from Jan 1 2022 till just about the bitter end. Something about it really helped keep me invigorated by the medium even in some pretty bleak times, so I’m going to keep it going this year, but here at Longboxd instead of on twitter, which I'm trying to spend less time at. Before I can do that though, I want to archive the 2022 entries in a spot that’s more permanent/less twitter-iffic, so here we go—pretty much every comic I read in 2022! (As transcribed from here)

22) Silver Star #1 by Jack Kirby & Mike Royer - Kirby’s Blubber? Very Beto vibes—very Lynchian, held together by spit and nonsense.

23) Shattered Earth #1 - The best story in this anthology has a horny dog that gets cucked by a wandering wasteland hippie.

24) Sun Runners #2

25) Shade, The Changing Man #50

26) True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys: NATIONAL ANTHEM - Narratively, it’s firmly in the "halcyon days of vertigo" mold, and that’s cool, but between Romero and Bellaire this is one of the more stunning art showcases I’ve seen in a while. God-tier coloring, IMO!

27) The Terminator #1 (1990) - Chris Warner tha gawd with nice chunky inks from Paul Guinan, and a script by DH genre MVP John Arcudi that swings between terse and pleasantly purple. This and the Predator series the year before (also drawn by Warner) set the mold for decades of movie tie-in books.

28 & 29) Blood n’ Guts #1 & 2 - These are very bad comics by a weird, probably bad dude who's weird & not always bad comics I grew up with. Not much to them (this is from one of Blair's big firehose-of-comics periods) other than a *great* logo I assume was made by Dave Cooper.

30) Alien Worlds #7 - I loved this series as a kid—it's mostly an art showcase (Corben, Morrow, Anderson & Perez in this issue!) but Bruce Jones' short stories are trashy scifi paperback anthology style fun, routinely see-sawing btwn kind of hokey & total bleak nihilism, often on the same page. one story, theoretically concerned w/recreating The Thing inside an implied sketch of a Wally Wood/EC planet setting, mostly actually focuses on infidelity leading to murder (a common Jones trope). In the end everyone dies after the revelation that their parkas are hungry aliens. 

31) Eclipse Monthly #2 by various

32) Sensation Comics #6 - This is the pure, uncut shit.

33) Head Lopper #15

34) Marvel Team-Up #101 - Robot hippies and Peter Parker favorably compares the trauma of Nighthawk killing his girlfriend in a drunk driving incident to Uncle Ben’s death.

35) The Swamp Thing: Becoming TPB

36) Head Lopper #16

37) Skull, The Slayer #1 - Sorta standard Th’unda etc white adventure guy thrown into a prehistoric setting to fight dinosaurs kinda thing, (the twist being that this guy? He’s a real piece of shit!) but Steve Gan does impressive work, and Marv Wolfman’s colors are surprisingly effective.

38) The Man-Thing #8 - I haven’t read many of these. Pacing is slow if not deliberate, vampy gothic vibes. With Ploog’s squishy art, it kinda reads like a Golden Age Underground.

Tell me about your pets, their names and how you met/came to adopt them!

Ohhh you're in for it now lol

This is Princess! She's dramatic, yells a lot, and has claws from hell when she wants to knead bread on your legs... You cannot bend over near any raised surface because she will climb on your back and scratch it all up lol. I was leaving to go to a friend's house and I saw her walking down the street! I thought she was an old cat because she was so worn down and tired, but she was only two months old. I got her all healthy and to a good size, and now she's my sweet baby <3

Jazz is the brown girl! I was asked by a breeder friend of a friend if I could foster her for a few weeks. She was a 'designer' dog, which I would never shell out money for (Adopt Don't Shop, people!), and someone paid 3 grand for this dog and returned her because she 'wouldn't potty train'. I got her trained in a month. These people weren't taking care of her, but I won't go into those details because they're awful :( However, Jazz is a TALKER because she's a pomsky, and she taught my pitbull to talk too... so it's never quiet in my house.

Missy was my old lady and this picture was the last one I took before she died. I got her when I was ten years old, and I lost her a few months ago. She was 15! I miss her a lot and I think about her all the time... but I know I gave her a great life and we had some awesome times together and she's with her brother now.

Callie Bean, aka "The Bean", aka "Demon from Hell": I love her to death, but she screams... a lot... She's my chunky girl! I actually found her in my back yard while I was looking for Princess, as she went missing for a week after getting locked in a garage somewhere (I assume that's what happened. She smelled like exhaust when she came back). I thought someone shaved Princess because once upon a time Callie was skinny lol. It's taken almost 8 years for them to get along, and a lot of work. She loves to snuggle with the dogs on the dog beds. The Bean is also known to ninja jump out of nowhere when you're eating out of a chip bag, so caution has to be taken and she gets to hang out in the bathroom when we eat dinner

Puca Bear is my sweet, teensy tiny 85lb pitbull! She was about 4 months old and born in a foster when I got her. The lady who ran the foster was... odd and highly strung, and it showed in the dogs, so I decided to adopt her the moment I met her. She was only about 20lbs and the same size as my Jack Russell when I met her. Now, she's my sleepy cuddle bug and my little spoon in bed! She likes to wiggle and butt bump people, and she does the pittie poke to everything and everyone she meets! She's high anxiety due to her early experiences, hence the early gray beard she's got at only 5 years old, but she's doing soooo much better than when I got her originally.

if you haven’t watched the movie yet, DONT READ THIS POST. but here’s a spoiler free review in a few words; good and simple movie. 10/10.

before we start, i laughed over the fact that right after the little mermaid live action trailer, they show dreamworks’ upcoming movie; teenage kraken ruby gilman and HAAAOOOO my god i was laughing because guess what the antagonist of the movie is; a mermaid, looks exactly like ariel. 😭😭💀💀

okay lets get to the movie now. the dude that plays the arcade when the brothers see their plumbing ad on tv in the pub, is who i like to call “the demo super mario” because he’s the guy who’s in the donkey kong barrel game, yet i think in an interview with miyamoto, he said that jumpman and mario are the same person, but in this movie they are two seperate characters. so thats interesting. also i think that spike guy looks similar???

missed opportunity for bowser to throw one of the penguin babies off a cliff /j (if you know you know)

What’s their style like? Do they put a lot of effort into what they wear?

She is very particular about what she wears! Lots of chunky mod jewelry. Expensive mini dresses and shoes that don't usually last very long in her closet because she doesn't care about blood stains. Almost everything she owns is some shade of pink, orange, or yellow. Pink lemonade or whatever...

When did they move out of their family home, if ever? What was the relationship with their family like?

She'd already tried to leave New Bordeaux once and was very much planning on not going back once she met Neil, but the death of her brothers put a wrench in that plan (not the Neil part because he followed her home like a damn dog???? smh). She doesn't manage to actually get out of there until 1968 and that's it. She never returns. She wasn't very close with Claudio or Alessio while they were alive, though that doesn't mean she didn't adore them— just hated how they babied her. Same thing with Dino. Her and Alicia... well. They can barely be in a room together without getting into some kind of argument, big or small. They're too similar in the worst of ways.

What’s their go-to food or candy at a movie theatre?

She is definitely a popcorn and sno-caps person.

Would they ever go to a music festival, a Renaissance fair, a holiday parade, or some other large communal event? Would they dress up to fit a theme? What would their favorite part of it be?

She would have to be convinced. Antisocial queen. That said, I do think she would go hard on any themed event because she loves dressing up, even if it's for something silly.

What was their favorite thing to do in school as a kid?

This loser... she loved math lessons! I'd also say any chance she got to just sit and read a book without anybody bothering her. Again, antisocial queen.

When they’re heartbroken or extremely upset, what makes them feel better?

Simply a drive around New Bordeaux. It's comforting for her to see all the familiar lights and buildings.
