imagine seungkwan comes back from like a week trip maybe? or back from devils plan, and he sees you depressed and unmoving on the couch. he asks if youve been taking care of yourself and without speaking u tell him no, so he js very gently takes care of u, like gives u food and does your skincare, and then cuddles you at the very end

seungkwan was excited to be home. filming the devil’s plan was fun but tirding, and above all – he missed you. he knew you were a bit down lately and sadly he wasn’t allowed to use his phone during the filming. so there he was, worried sick but also y/n-deprived, on his way home.

he struggled with putting the key in, hands trembling. once he got it, he almost pushed in the suitcases and his shoes went flying on the floor.

“y/nnie, i’m home!” seungkwan yelled out, pure happiness in his voice. his legs led him to the bedroom, hoping you’d be there. nope. “hello…?”

the house was silent, as if vacuous.

seungkwan entered the room and his heart clenched. it was messy, piles of clothes on the floor and on the armchair. your academic books were laying all around the desk, accompanied by some wrappers and dirty dishes. the bin was overflowing, empty energy drink cans rolling next to it.

he let out a quiet sigh, guilt and worry washing over him.

“y/n, cutie?” your boyfriend called out again and walked over to the living room “oh, here you are…”

you were sitting on the couch, wrapped in a blanket. eyes staring into the distance, only fidgeting with your fingers. the tv was showing the netflix site but there was ‘are you still watching?’ displayed on the screen.

“oh, y/nnie…” seungkwan mumbled and walked up to you, cupping your face in his cheeks. he planted a kiss on your greasy hair, yet he didn’t mind. he was glad to be back but most importantly – he knew he had to take care of you.

you looked up at him, puffy eyes and wet lashes. you were tired, he could tell. but, he could also tell you missed him too. and even though you weren’t showing it right now, your eyes told him that.

“did you take care of yourself when i was gone?” he asked, almost cautiously.

silence.

seungkwan caressed your cheeks with his thumbs, heart sinking.

“poor y/nnie” he mumbled, leaning to place another tender kiss on the top of your hair “let’s take care of you, then”

you nodded gently, too tired to even answer. nvseungkwan looked at you with sincere concern, but not the nagging one. he turned off the tv and helped you stand up. you didn’t have your makeup on but he led you to the bathroom anyways.

your boyfriend helped you undress and showered with you. he’s tender, soft and caring; the way he pecked your face, the way his fingers massaged your scalp gently. he helped you shower, humming songs underneath his breath; no judgement or snarky comments whatsoever. just you, him and the water hugging your body. when you thought about it, you couldn’t really remember when you took a shower.

then, before you can realise, you’re wrapped in a warm towel and sitting on the countertop next to the sink. seungkwan brought you fresh pyjama (his tee and his sweatpants) and tossed the ones you had to the laundry. once he’s in his pjs, he stands between your legs and looks at you as if you hung the stars on the sky.

“are you hungry?” seungkwan asked. you nodded weakly.

“too tired to move though” you mumbled; croaked even. but all that mattered that he got to hear your voice, that he missed dearly.

“it’s okay. i’ll grab you something from kitchen, m’yeah? just stay here” he hummed happily and rushed to kitchen. quickly chopping a few fruits and throwing them into a yogurt, the he added some honey. it wasn’t anything fancy but he figured it’ll be good, if you haven’t eaten much lately and eating a huge portion of food wouldn’t be too good for your stomach. at least now.

he returned and smiled sweetly at you.

“let’s eat… then we’ll brush our teeth, do our skincare and then…” his voice trailed off teasingly. your eyes lit up in the most adorable way, a small pout forming on your lips.

“can we… cuddle?” you asked quietly, almost as if too shy to say it out loud. it melted his heart – you didn’t say a word while under the shower but suddenly you’re shy when asking for cuddles.

he nodded, a huge grin plastered on his face.

“oh, of course. your wish is my command” seungkwan sing-sang. upon noticing you haven’t eaten yet, he grabbed the bowl “open up?”

he fed you patiently, his other hand resting under your chin in case anything fell from the spoon. occasionally he brushed your hair out of your face. yet, there was no sign of annoyance or discomfort in his eyes. he did it with love and care, sincerely showing that through his gestures and also the look in his eyes.

once you were done with eating, he couldn’t resist himself and placed a soft kiss on the top of your nose. to his joyfulness, a faint smile bloomed on your lips.

you watched seungkwan pull out the skin care products with one hand, the other was resting in your thigh.

“the devil’s plan was so fun to film…” he started, smiling softly when recalling the memories “obviously i can’t tell you who won, you’ll have to see yourself”

“so it wasn’t you” you snickered. normally, he’d shot you a bombastic side eye, followed by a snarky comment.

but seungkwan was happy to hear you. with a wholehearted chuckle.

“oh shush”

your boyfriend continued chatting while working on your face. his fingers spread serums and creams gently, acting like your skin was made of fine china. he stared at you lovingly, eyes scanning your features in case if he missed a spot.

when he was done with you, he quickly did his routine. seungkwan skipped a couple of steps, only because he knew that you needed cuddles… and he needed them too. nothing was ever much more important than you.

“done” he hummed, adoring you “let’s go”

he helped you go to the bedroom, since you were a bit cramped. after tucking you in and fixing the pillow under your head, he turned off the lights.

snuggling next to you, his arms wrapped around your waist. you felt warmth – not sure if it was the duvet or his embrace that you dearly missed.

“i love you” seungkwan whispered, hot breath fanning into your skin. he didn’t care that the cream he just put on will smear; he just wanted to be next to you, as closest as possible.

and you didn’t have to word it out; by the way you sneaked your hand and linked your pinkies, he could tell you wanted the same.

“it’ll be alright” your boyfriend breathed out, the moonlight shining on his face “we’ve got this”

The nerve of this guy, you think to yourself after seeing the message your best friend had sent. He spent the whole night avoiding you, outright at some points even, and now wants to know where you are.

Fucking typical that is.

Usually, it’s something you can brush off easily, aware that he prefers to be somewhere else instead of attending big parties such as this, but you were hoping that tonight would’ve been different.

Wearing his favourite red dress that you own and the necklace he gifted you on your birthday, you wished that Hansol would finally take notice of you, and finally see the way you feel about him. In turn, you hoped that he feels the same about you too.

But, he crushed any chance of that happening with the way he’d been acting, so you spend the rest of the night nursing a glass of wine one after the other. Finally feeling somewhat numb, you’re not going to let him ruin the rest of the night for you.

[10:05pm] you: why do you care [10:05pm] nonieeee: why wouldn’t i?

You almost can’t believe that you really have to spell it out for him, especially in your inebriated state. Almost.

[10:06pm] you: youve been tryging to avoidf me all nigth [10:06pm] nonieeee: are you drunk?

Rolling your eyes, you down the last drops of your sixth wine of the night before replying.

[10:07pm] you: i am notttttt

Placing your phone down on the bar, you ask the bartender for another glass. After taking a few sips of your drink, you finally notice the blinking notification on your phone.

[10:07pm] nonieeee: how much have you had to drink? [10:10pm] nonieeee: y/n where are you? [10:12pm] you: im fgine nonieeeeere [10:12pm] you: go bacjk to ignroing me [10:13pm] nonieeee: i haven’t been ignoring you

You may not be sober but the way Hansol is acting right now is confusing, even if you were. Not one part of you understands why he’s suddenly acting like this and you can’t tell whether he’s being dumb or he’s really not understanding what is happening.

Whatever the case is, your patience has been long gone and replaced by hurt. No longer able to hold it in, you embrace the liquid courage coursing your veins and finally speak your mind. Maybe, your heart too.

You laugh at how ridiculous he’s being, though there’s no mirth to it. Finishing the rest of your drink, you throw all caution out the window.

As you attempt to put away your phone, it vibrates again in your hand.

[10:24pm] nonieeee: listen i can explain [10:24pm] nonieeee: tell me where you are pls

Just when you’re about to reply, you feel a familiar presence next to you that makes you look up, but you’re disappointed to see that it’s not the person you’re longing to see. “What are you doing here, Mingyu?” you ask, voice slurry from the alcohol.

Mingyu waits for you to take the glass of water he’s offering and to drink it before he replies, “Seungcheol and Joshua sent me. They’re worried about how much alcohol you’re having.”

“I don’t mean to worry anyone,” you pout.

“We know,” he smiles. “What’s got you down?”

Sighing, you reach for the second glass of water he’s placed in front of you and down it too. “Hansol’s been avoiding me all night.”

“Ah.”

“I tried to look pretty for him, so I can pull him under a mistletoe and confess my feelings for him.”

Mingyu’s eyes sparkle, like he knows a secret he can’t share, but it’s gone before you know it and it leaves you questioning whether it’s something you imagined in your drunken haze.

“Well, maybe you still have a chance,” he says. “Why don’t we go and find a mistletoe that you can stand under and get him to find you? I’m sure he’s looking for you right now.”

“Mkay,” you nod, “let me just send him a message real quick.”

[10:37pm] you: yknow hansol i like like liek like like likel ike like you like realllyyyyy reallyyyy like you [10:39pm] you: but icant deal with thsi right noww [10:39pm] you: i gotta dot his mistletoe thing wtih mingyu [10:40pm] you: bye

Just before you shove your phone in your purse, you feel it vibrate once, twice, too many times to count, but you refuse to check it. He was avoiding your presence so the way you see it, you can avoid his messages.

Mingyu sets out two more glasses of water for you which you gratefully accept, sobering up as you finish the last glass. Needing to relieve yourself, he offers to wait for you by the door.

When you exit the bathroom, Mingyu is there holding out his hand and when you raise your hand to reach for him, another hand wraps around your wrist, pulling you away from your friend. Confused, you look back and see Mingyu beaming at you, holding two thumbs up in the air.

Turning back to your wrist, you immediately recognise the ring on his pinky finger and the watch you gifted him on his wrist. The person who has a hold of you is none other than your best friend Hansol Vernon Chwe himself, the person who’s avoided you all night and shattered your heart into pieces.

“Let me go,” you say loud enough for him to hear over the loud pumping music.

“No,” he replies without looking back, continuing to drag you through the crowd.

“Hansol, let me go,” you repeat, hurt evident in your voice.

Halting in his tracks, Hansol turns to face you, “No, I’m not letting you go again.” Something in his tone makes you think he means more than what he’s saying and you guess right when he adds, “Just… please let me explain. I don’t want to lose you like this.”

Concern floods your features and you grow more nervous than before, but find yourself nodding to his request. It’s not like you’re gonna say no, you never have when it comes to him.

In a short while, he leads you through a door and out into the backyard, not stopping until he reaches a tree away from the crowd. Turning to finally face you, Hansol takes his time to look at you, really look at you, his stare making you feel like he can see your soul.

“Why were you avoiding me?” you break first, unable to bear the tension.

“I wasn’t—”

“Yes, you were—”

“I wasn’t avoiding you, I was avoiding the mistletoe!” Hansol raises his voice just enough so you can hear him over your own thoughts. Finally letting go of your wrist, much to your dismay, he runs his hand through his hair, pacing back and forth in front of you.

“Why were you avoiding the mistletoe?” you prod, knowing that he needs your assistance in order to continue.

Sighing, he stops his pacing and comes back to face you. “The guys had this plan,” he starts and you make sure to listen since he’s finally opening up to you. “They were gonna get the both of us under the mistletoe and get us to kiss.”

The revelation has you reeling and your heart starts to beat so fast that it might beat right out of your chest. “Wait, so you avoided me because you didn’t want to kiss me?”

“Of course, I didn’t want to kiss you,” he confirms and if your heart wasn’t broken before, it certainly is now.

“Wow, that’s um, great—”

“It’s not like that,” Hansol clarifies quickly, not wanting you to misunderstand further. “The reason I didn’t want to kiss you was because I didn’t want to ruin everything and lose you.”

“Why would that ruin everything?” you ask but Hansol doesn’t seem to hear you, too lost in his own head and feelings.

“But then, you said you were going to kiss Mingyu,” he continued, voice pained, “and it turns out that I was going to lose you even if I didn’t kiss you.”

“I wasn’t going to kiss—”

“I don’t want you to kiss him,” Hansol looks at you, broken. “Especially not after all you said in those texts.”

Dread fills you and suddenly you feel queasy from more than just the alcohol. “What did I say?” you ask in a panic, your memory failing you.

Hansol closes the gap between your bodies and cups your face in his hands, “You said that you wanted me to see you, really see you—”

“Oh god, I—”

“—and that you really like me.”

The urge to run breaches the surface. “Listen, Hansol I—”

“I’m in love with you,” Hansol confesses and you swear your heart stops beating. “I didn’t think you felt the same way so I never said anything and that’s why I thought I was going to ruin everything if I kissed you. So, don’t kiss Mingyu. Please.”

“I was never going to,” you finally get to tell him. “The whole reason he was taking me to a mistletoe was so I could stand there and wait for you to show up. He was going to fetch you straight after.”

“Really?” he asks, face lighting up with hope.

Nodding, you wrap your hands around his wrists while he still holds you. “You’re such an idiot,” you scold lightly, tears of joy welling up at the corners of your eyes.

“I’m your idiot.”

“You’re blind too.”

“The same goes for you,” Hansol scoffs.

Stepping closer until your chest to chest, your lips brush against his. “Too bad there isn’t a mistletoe out here,” you tease.

“Actually, there is one,” he swallows nervously, pointing at a tree branch above you. There it is, in all its glory, tied with a red string. “I put it up there, in case I ever got the courage to actually confess to you the way I wanted to.”

“You’re so cheesy.”

“Can I kiss you yet?” Hansol whines, leaning his forehead against yours.

Smiling, you cave in, kissing him just as you wanted.

hihi!! i hope you've been doing well! its that time of year where school gets so much more stressful so i hope youve been taking care of yourself 🫶

tbh as an east coast girlie, ive only heard terrible second hand accounts of socal asian guys and im so happy i have the privilege of never meeting one

BUT i am subject to insanely smart asian boys w an extreme superiority complex like i'm sorry i am not a robot that does nothing but study!! its so hard being a girl in stem my GOD

but speaking of insanely smart asian guys, lil update: istg this man is watching me. like he mirrors things i do. i didnt notice it at first but it kept happening that i was a little suspicious.

i cross my arms. he crosses his arms. i lean chin on my hand. he leans his chin on his hand. i cross my legs. he crosses his legs. LIKE?? i dont actually know how this has been going on for but i just noticed it in class now bc he sat next to me today so i could see him out of the corner of my eye.

and i actually thought i was going insane and being delusional and making things up so i tested it yk to be sure. so i reach over to my bag and grab my water bottle to drink from it, bc i feel like thats something you have to consciously do rather than just shifting positions in an uncomfortable seat, and WHAT DO YOU KNOW not even a second later he goes to drink from his water.

i'm calling something here... maybe i am being delusional idk.

Is it weird to say i dont think ive ever had a blackberry before?? Idk i might have had one when i was a kid but when you mentioned the blackberry jam I completely blanked. So um. Hope it was good?

YES I WOULD LOVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT MALAYSIAN FOOD!! I would show u pics but um 🧍->🏃‍♂️💨. Ur gonna have to google it king LOL. The first day back my dad and I went out to a mamak stall (basically just a restaurant for malay-chinese-indian food), and I had roti canai (a type of flatbread with curry) and teh tarik, which I have missed dearly. I dont typically like normal english breakfast tea so getting to have authentic teh tarik was SO GOOD. Teh tarik (translating to "pulled tea") is made with condensed milk and gets its name from how after the drink is mixed it gets continuously poured over and over from one container to another until it gets super frothy.

I've also been getting reacquainted with my favourite fruits 🥰 that you cant get in Australia like mangosteen and jambu air (ai-yer). Mangos and dragon fruit you can get in australia but. um. Theyre bad. They just taste like sweet water. Also unfortunately for me rambutan i havent been able to find rambutan 😔😔. Those look similar to lychee but they taste pretty different, less tangy and sweeter.

Ive gone out with a friend to have cendol (c promounced as a "ch") which is a cold desert with coconut milk and rice jelly, along with other toppings should you choose it. Im also in the process of convincing my bff to do a 3h road trip with me specifically for food in a city called Ipoh 😭 wish me luck.

AND, im getting one of my relatives to teach me how to make rendang and char kway teow. The rendang specifically because the one she makes i prefer over what's usually made in restuarants. I think it's a state difference in recipes or smtg? So the ones you'll find in restuarants are KL/Selangor rendang and she makes from Kedah. Thats just a theory tho im not actually sure.

🧍 i realise this ask has become like 70% about food so i apologise. But. In my defense you asked >:) /j

ANYWAY. I hope youve gotten a break from the holiday work or at least have one coming up <33 Take care of yourself; indulge in your cheeses :D

Its so funny you say that about blackberries bc where i live we have them literally growing everywhere on the side of the road AKDNWKDNKWDN in the summer when they start putting out fruit one of my roommates will sometimes go out and just pick a bunch for the whole household, and they always taste SOOOOO much better than the store-bought ones. Im genuinely not sure how to describe the taste of blackberry other than like. Its very sweet but also very tart (i go for the slightly less ripe ones tbh bc i prefer tart things to super sweet) at the same time, and sorta pops in your mouth a little bit when you chew it. Honestly its one of my favorite fruits i would highly recommend them if you can find em anywhere!!!!

My resolution this year is a bit silly but i wanted to go for a very fun easy one, so its to use every sticker i own this year :] ive already started by putting a few on the creeper minifridge that my roomie got me for xmas 😂😂😂😂😂😂 and i have some scrapbook ideas as well to use my fancier ones that my friends have gotten me!!!! Also you are so valid about the writing-- tbh if you wrote more than expected then it sounds like you succeeded instead of failed, so thats awesome!!! :DDD

I've been drinking liquids all day, n taking care of myself so dw. I try not to fuck around and make things worse when I'm sick. Luckily it's just my sinuses n a lil bit of aches n pain.. plus a general feeling of grossness. Hoping sleep will help n I'll feel better in the morning :)

besides that, there werent any threats at all — but rather messages that hurt my feelings / made me feel demotivated and scared in writing evermore. i mustve worded my venting post wrong and made it look like i received scary threats so my bad 😭😭😭 and dw i understand why youre pissed, there are rlly people out there who have the audacity to send threats to others just bcuz of something they didnt agree with and that is not a slay thing to do 👹👹👹

ill continue to try my best to take good care of myself and stay healthy as well as not getting my mind f-cked over — i hope you take care of yourself too !!
