No you don't understand Jonathan and Nancy had to be forcibly separated in-between s1 & s2 for the safety of Steve's relationship. (and feelings)
This man is gonna get his heart TRAMPLED on by shared looks, shared trauma, holding hands in the apocalypse Jancy next season. (The least he deserves after the nuggets speech imo)
They better have his nondescript 11th hour love interest waiting in the wings

Good News || Jake "Hangman" Seresin
Summary: So i saw somewhere where a woman got into trouble for "destruction of government property" but it's just her giving her military husband hickies, and i think this would be so hilarious with Jake Seresin.
A/N: This one came so quickly to me. It's just pure fluff. All the Jake Seresin fluff! Short but sweet. Hope you all enjoy :)
Pairing: Jake "Hangman" Seresin x Y/N

Your eyes flipped back to the calendar on the wall with a big red circle around today. You’d probably looked at that calendar a thousand times over the last six months as you waited. Waited agonizingly every single day praying you wouldn’t get a knock on your door or the dreaded phone call.
Jake had been deployed on a carrier off the coast of Israel in the Mediterranean Sea for the last six months. You knew it came with the territory when you started dating him all those years ago. It terrified you every single time he came to tell you he was off on a mission or going on orders overseas. You’d never show it, only your utmost support and confidence in the man. But you knew how dangerous it was. He told you about all the men and women he’s seen gone down and some never making it home in his short span as a pilot in the Navy. It didn’t just terrify you, it rocked you all the way down to your core. What if he didn’t make it home? He was a hell of a pilot, one of the best that was flying, but things didn’t always go your way. He knew that. You knew it. Everybody seemed to know it.
But today was the day. He was coming home. After the months of shitty less than communication and trying your best to stay distracted it was here. He was safe. He was alive. You’d talked to him just a few hours ago. Waiting.
Jake’s parents picked you up from your shared home just off base that’d been eerily quiet in his absence. They didn’t want you driving in your hyper-fixated state. They never wanted you driving when it came to these kinds of events. They knew how much it tore you up when he was gone on deployment. If you didn’t fly down to Texas they made sure to fly to you. Just to keep you company. You hadn’t a clue how you’d gotten so lucky to have them in your life. And hopefully in the future as family. You never pushed it though. You didn’t want him to panic and ran. And truth be told you’d be fine never marrying him so long as he was like this in your life. Your best friend and love wrapped up in one.
“Are you excited?” His mom asked seeing you nearly bouncing out of the backseat once the car rolled onto base.
“Oh Nancy,” you could only nod your head in confirmation, “I’m more than excited.” Your cheeks were starting to burn from the big cheesy grin you were wearing.
His dad, David, spoke up, “I know Jake is just as excited.” He smiled just feeling the excitement in the air. These days were truly the best. Six months was a long time to be away. The longest deployment he’d been on in years.
The three of you made small talk as David drove to the base. Once parked, you happily led the older couple over to where the sailors would stand before they waited to be dismissed. You watched as the hundred or so men and women aboard the ship departed to their designated formation. Your eyes scanned for your loved one. Your Jake.
Finally spotting him you waited anxiously as the rest of the crew lined up. You just had to wait it out another ten minutes or so. They had to officially be dismissed before they could break for the family reunions. These last few minutes always seemed to draw on for decades trying to be as patient as possible.
You kept your eyes on him as he kept his forward. You hadn’t a clue that he already spotted you moments before you did him. But he had to keep his attention forward. No matter how anxious he was to see his favorite girl again.
They second they were dismissed Jake made a beeline right for you. Your face lit up in surprise as he headed right at you. Your body responding by moving forward you jumped right into his arms once he got close enough. He was more than ready. He wrapped his arms right around you securing you tightly to his chest while your feet locked behind him.
“Jakey.” You grinned hugging him tightly, afraid he’d be gone from your arms again you cherished every second like this. It made you realize how much you really did love the man you were holding so tightly. How much you craved him, everything about him. You’d rather not have had him gone for six months though. That was far too long for your liking. As if you had any say.
“Honey.” He cooed gently rocking you side to side. One arm snaked around your waist, one arm gently cradling your head in his hands, “You’re so fucking pretty. How’d you get even more beautiful? God I missed your face.” Jake leaned down capturing your lips in his. As gentle as he normally was with you this was hungrier. He really had missed you. Giving your hip as squeeze you felt him smile into the kiss as you squirmed away from his grasp.
Once you stopped giggling you looked right into his eyes smiling dopily, “And I missed yours, handsome man.” You gave him a wicked smirk before doing the unthinkable. Jake had warned you time and time again how he couldn’t show visible marks on the skin, or the Navy could have his ass. And maybe even yours if they were angry enough. You’d known they were empty threats, but you’d never dreamed of potentially hurting his flying in anyway. So, you’d never leave any marks.
Sliding his collar to the side you decided to throw caution to the wind seeing everybody lost in their own world with their own families. Jake’s parents were even admiring all the reunions around them instead of having their eyes fixated on the two of you. They loved watching all the joy every time. Nancy always made sure that every sailor was feeling the love. That was just one of the reasons you’d fallen in love not only with Jake but his entire family. His mom was as sweet as they came. His dad just as caring but even more tough. It was no wonder Jake was the way he was. Albeit a little more of an asshole than either of them even combined.
“Ma’am. That is abhorrent.” A vaguely familiar voice made you focus on your surroundings once more, “This is Destruction of Government Property.” You heard a cough from behind Jake drawing you away from your boyfriends neck. The look you sent could’ve killed him if it were at all possible. Bradley fucking Bradshaw. Was he actually serious right now?
You felt Jake’s laughter in his chest before you heard it. Flicking your eyes up momentarily at him you kissed him on his cheek before flipping Bradley off, “I don’t care Bradley.” You continued flipping him off while Jake held you tightly to his chest.
“Sweetheart…” Jake tried to warn you. The government really did own his ass. But his Commanding Officer was cool. He wasn’t expected to be back on base for another few weeks… what did a few hickies hurt? You knew the drill, but it didn’t seem to matter as you clung to him like he was about to vanish at any second. He looked down at your doe eyed expression, “I missed you.” He finished realizing just how hard deployment really was on you. The two of you were going on year five together. He’d been a pilot for all of them. He’d flown his hardest missions during that time. Your support never wavered. But seeing you like this? Like you’d never see him again… it hurt him. It hurt knowing you were feeling like that.
“You’ll care when there are Naval Officers on your doorstep.” Bradley tried. He really did. But you really didn’t care. You missed him more than anything. You didn’t care that his parents were there watching. You just missed him. Missed his corny ass jokes and the soft touches he always threw your way. You missed the sweet smiles and laughter that came with being around him.
“So be it. Worth it.” You giggled as Jake pinched your sides again bringing your attention back to the man you’d dreamed about every day.
“Eyes over here darling.” He made sure to flip Bradley off before holding you back in his arms once again. He wouldn’t let you drop your hold on him. He wanted you close. He didn’t care either. He’d craved you for those months. He’d forgotten just how bad deployment got. Bradley mumbled some incoherent words before disappearing off into the crowd.
Kissing his cheek once more you nodded, “Sorry Jakey.” Brushing your hands through his hair it felt like it really was just the two of you there. Like nobody else was around.
“No need to apologize.” He whispered in your ear sending immediate chills down your spine, “You didn’t answer my question though. How’d you seem to get even more beautiful while I was gone?”
You truly felt like a little schoolgirl was a nasty crush on a boy way out of your league. He was so sweet to you and only you. Not having a clue why. You loved watching him interact with everyone else. He was so different than the man who came home to you every night. But that was Jake. Tough as they come. Sweet as can be. The biggest fight the two of you had was when he came home and told you about the six month long deployment a year ago. You didn’t even fight you were just sad. Sad that he volunteered to go. Volunteered and didn’t tell you. The two of you worked through it though. You always did.
“Shush. You’ve just been trapped on a big boat for so long I’d be offended if you didn’t think I was pretty.” You wanted to kiss him so bad. You didn’t even remember the kiss you gave him once you spotted him walk off the ship. You blacked out, truly.
“Never ever.” He grinned, “I’ll never stop complementing my beautiful girl.”
You squeezed your arms around him pulling him so much closer. You’d melt into him if you could, “You’re too sweet to me Mr. Seresin.”
He shook his head, “Not enough, I’d say.” He took the lead this time leaning down to give you a soft, sweet kiss that was far too short for your liking.
“I love you.” You whispered to him feeling oh so happy. So beyond excited he was holding you in his arms once again. You tried to step away to give his parents a chance to say hello, but he only held you tighter. Shaking his head.
“Love you too, gorgeous girl.” He hummed placing a soft kiss on your forehead, “That was it, by the way.”
You scrunched your eyes together in confusion, “What?”
He nodded his head with that larger than life smile on his face, “You’re looking at Captain Jake Seresin. Command Ground Officer.” He emphasized ground with wide eyes.
“Jake! Congrats. You didn’t tell me! Does this mean you’re here? Permanently?” Looking at him expectedly. It hit you just how good it could really get once you knew he’d be sleeping by your side every night.
He nodded his head in excitement, “At least for this job. I’ll still be flying but more on the leadership side. Training. Preparing them.”
You didn’t think your heart could swell any larger in love. But there it went. Only Jake could do that. You knew it. He knew it, “You’re not kidding right? Like you’re being serious?”
“Yes sweetheart. So serious.” He kissed your nose this time. He missed you more than you could’ve imagined. It was an impossible six months. He didn’t want to do that anymore. He couldn’t be away from you anymore. Lucky for him he had options. They let him choose. He choose to ground himself from missions. It was time to grow up and move on. He’d accomplished everything he sought out to and more already in the air. Now he was on a mission to rise to the top. Admiral Jake Seresin had a ring to it.
You wanted to squeal but knew you had eyes all over you. Anybody could’ve been watching, “That’s the best news I’ve heard in a while J.”
“Just you wait.” He grinned ear to ear leaning down once more, whispering into your ear, “Won’t even be the best news you’ve heard all day.” Leaning all the way down he kissed you with a little bit more but keeping it PG. His parents were standing there a little annoyed that he’d chosen to be with you for so long before he even acknowledged them. But they knew. They knew the raw power of love. How much it could sway and dissuade. How deeply Jake was in love with you and how much you were with him.
“Oh? Do tell.” You pulled away looking at him curiously.
“You’ll see.” He wiggled his eyebrows just to egg you on.
You narrowed your eyebrows in on the man you loved so dearly, “You know how much I hate surprises.”
He laughed gleefully, “Oh darling, I know.” He pulled you back into him momentarily, “Promise, it’ll be worth the wait.”
“Promise?” You knew he’d keep true to his word, but you wanted to hear him confirm it.
“I promise you darling. Just you wait.” Squeezing your hand, he finally walked over to his parents bringing you right along with him. Only dropping your hand as he went in for the hug with his mom.

Now I’m in my feels
Way up in the clouds somewhere now
Don’t know what’s real
Tumblr media
Working at the Java Cup, Steve dealt with a lot of different people. Tired students, doctors and nurses coming and going from shifts, and everyone in between. During the six months of his employment there only one customer seemed to catch his attention, you.
From the moment you walked in he knew he was fucked. With one kid on your hip and the other in the stroller, you already had him in the palm of your hand. No matter what, rain or shine, you and your two kids always came in with bright smiles. Although a lot of your interactions were small talk or your older son trying to, his heart infatuation for you every single time.
You were so fucking beautiful and Steve was nothing but a fool for you. So many times he would go home and just pray that you weren’t taken, that maybe somewhere written in the stars there was a chance for him.
Steve wanted to ask you out but every single time he chickened out, throwing out multiple cup sleeves that had horrible puns written on them in the process. Ever since getting broken up with by Nancy, his self esteem and confidence dropped. No matter how many times his best friend and coworker, Robin, tried to talk some sense into him, he just couldn’t do it.
It was comical watching him stutter and blush scarlet every time you would speak, tripping over his words like it was his first time ever talking. Because he was so smitten with you, his insecurities grew and poking fun at him any time he would think about possibly asking you out.
Here you were, a pretty mom with two adorable kids that he adored, so sweet and kind to him, and so far out of his league. There was no pot at the end of this rainbow for Steve, but he continued to chase it in hopes that maybe, just maybe he was wrong.
Now it's been six months and Steve has run out of steam, his legs growing tired and his lungs burning with exhaustion with how long he's been running. So, he's decided that it's time to give up on his mission to of getting to the finish line.
There was no point to continue trying, not when you're probably more than happy with the father of your children, going home to your white picket fence and happy home. So he pulled back, watched from behind the counter, and continued to daydream about the life he's always wanted.
Tumblr media
“You know you could just go talk to her, right?” Robin’s voice is louder than she thinks, the low music and hum of the espresso machine doing little to cover it up.
“Say it louder, why don’t you.” Rolling his eyes, Steve continues to wipe down the counter that he’s been working on for the past ten minutes.
“I’m just sayin’, it’s kind of pathetic and creepy that you’re always staring.” Shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly, the brunette girl runs her hands down her black apron. “Besides, what’s the worst that could happen?”
“What’s the worst-” Turning on his heel quickly, Steve stares at his best friend with wide eyes, “Robin, there is a laundry list of things that could go wrong.”
“Yeah? Try me.” Crossing her ankle over the other, Robin leans on the sink with a waiting look.
“Firstly, she could be married,” Steve starts counting on his finger.
“No ring on her finger.” Robin counters.
“Well she’s a mom with two kids, I doubt she has time for a twenty something, no good, barista that barely has his life together.”
“EEEEEEEE WRONG,” She makes a loud buzzer noise, “One you aren’t no good, you’re actually a really great person who needs to see just how amazing he is. Two, you may be a barista who can barely keep his life together but, you’re reliable and take care of yourself, not to mention you have your own car and place, more than other twenty somethings. And lastly, you’re also a mother to a group of teenagers, so it works perfectly.”
Dropping his hands down to his sides, Steve lets the words settle into his heart. He was a good person, he did have a good impression with the gaggle of kids he sometimes watches, and he did have some of his life together.
“Okay well, she could reject me and I will not only lose more of my confidence but I’ll also lose my favorite customer.” Sighing in defeat, he whips the rag that still sits in his hand over his shoulder. "Either way, I gave up on that dream a long time ago."
Robin shakes her head, stepping forward to the boy she calls her best friend and shakes him by the shoulders. “You are Steve ‘the hair’ Harrington! There was a reason everyone called you king Steve and it wasn’t just because you were a huge dick.”
“Hey!!” Steve raises his voice in defeat and she waves him off continuing her peptalk.
“Listen, I know that lady killer is somewhere in there,” She pokes at his chest, “So you’re gonna put your big boy panties on, walk up to her and ask her out! I’m sick and tired of watching you look all sad and depressing, so you’re going to do as I say or I’ll do it for you.” Smiling brightly at him, the girl taps him lovingly on the shoulder.
Robin may be a lot of things, including annoying, but a liar is not one of them. Steve knows that she will one hundred percent walk up to you, throw him under the bus, with a mega-watt smile as she does it.
Watching his friend walk around the counter with a broom and dust pan in hand, her head turns to wear your sat at a table by the front window, talking to your older son, rocking your baby in the stroller with your foot. Turning her attention back to Steve, she smiles wickedly and turns slightly like she’s heading your way. Anxiety rises in the back of his throat, heartbeat picking up and banging hard in his chest.
“Fine, I’m going just- fuck off.” It comes out through gritted teeth. Running a shaking hand down the front of his apron, Steve rounds the counter muttering something under his breath.
As he walks to the table, Robin gives him two thumbs up and an exaggerated smile to which he replies by simply throwing a middle finger up at her.
As he steps closer to your table the thought of turning back around and hiding in the back room comes into mind.
There’s no pot of gold here, only gray clouds and roaring thunder. He can turn back now and continue his sorrowful journey of pining.
But then he looks at you, smiling and laughing at something the young boy next to you said, eyes squeezed shut and head thrown back. What a beautiful way to die, Steve thinks. The thunder and lightning is all worth it when he gets to see you as he takes his final breaths.
“H-hey,” His voice is wobbly, nervousness clearly showing as he speaks.
“Hi Steve.” Your eyes meet his, saccharine smile tugging on the corners of your lips.
“Hi steeb!” The young boy next to you waves while clutching a red crayon in his tiny hand.
“Hi Aidan. How are you little man?” Steve seems to loosen up a bit, the presence of your son lets him exhale just slightly.
“M’colorin a pixture.” The small boy’s tongue pokes between his lips, eyebrows furrowed in concentration as he draws what looks like a demented stick figure.
“It looks good, little dude.” Steve encourages, cooing sweetly at him.
“Fanks.” Still focusing on his picture, the smaller boy grabs a different crayon from the box that sits on the table.
“What’s up, Steve?” You ask, still rocking the stroller back and forth with your tennis shoe covered foot.
“Oh-h yeah, um I was just gonna ask, ah what you were doing.” Just like a switch, he’s back to being a fumbling doofus.
You giggle at him and he feels his cheeks tingle with heat. Looking between the two kids, you look back up to the older man in front of you.
“Well, I’m enjoying a coffee while Aidan colors and Bella naps peacefully.” You nod your head slowly, eyeing the barista questioningly.
Steve wants to slap a hand on his forehead, embarrassed by the fact he can’t even formulate one sentence.
“Yeah, no I see that. Seems fun, I mean not fun but like ya know, seems-“ His stammering is cut off by your soft voice.
“Are you okay? You seem really nervous.” Your eyebrows are pinched together, worry painted on your features.
“Me? I’m great, fantastic!” It comes enthusiastic and way louder than he intended, so loud that Robin hears and instantly facepalms.
“Well, that’s great Steve.” You’re still eyeing him suspiciously and he really wants to jump ship.
“I’m just gonna go and do my ugh, my stuff.” Hooking a thumb over his shoulder, spinning on the ball of his feet leaving before he can say anything else embarrassing.
No, he can’t leave now, not when he’s made it this close to the finish line. This is what he’s been waiting for, the treasure he’s been searching for. It’s no or never and he can’t go back to praying the same prayer that somewhere in this universe you two were destined to be.
With a new found confidence, he turns right back into the eye of the storm and faces it head strong.
“Actually, I came over here because I wanted to know if maybe you’d like to go out sometime.” His chest is puffed out like, more sure of himself than he’s ever been.
The confidence that’s surging through him starts to falter when he reads your expression. You, and Aidan who has now stopped coloring, stare at him with bugged out eyes and gaping mouths.
“Only if that’s okay with you and all. If you want you can bring the kids along and we can go get ice cream and stuff but if you need it I have some friends who are great with kids and who will be willing to babysit for you.” He’s back peddling, trying to give you a way out in case you want to reject him it won’t hurt so bad.
“Oh Steve,” it’s said with pity and he knows the lighting strike is about to hit, “I-I’m not their mom.”
“Yeah no I get it, sorry if I- wait..” Stopping in his tracks, he looks back and forth between you and the small boy, connecting the dots in his head. “You’re not their mom?”
You and Aidan share a look before giggling together. Gazing back up at the flustered man in front of you, you smile kindly at him.
“No, I’m their nanny, Steve. Although I love them like they’re my own, they’re not.”
“Oh.” Steve continues to stare at you, his pretty pink lips in the shape of an O.
“Yeah, I just watch these little guys.” You shrug your shoulders.
“That’s still cool, I mean the offer still stands.” Even though he’s confused, his voice is a little shaky when he asks.
“Do the kids still have to come?” You ask and Aidan shouts an offended “hey”.
“I mean they can if you want, it’s all up to you.” He eyes you, waiting for your reaction but your expression doesn’t give him much to go on.
“Hmmm, I’m going to have to ask my trusted right hand man.” Holding a finger up at him, you leave over to the smaller boy next to you.
Aidan covers you hear with a small hand trying to cover the movements of his lips, even though Steve can still his his muffled whispers from where he stands.
Shaking your head, you repeat back uh huh’s to him, taking everything that’s being said seriously.
Moving back to your upright position, you stare at Steve with a serious gaze.
“Well, my counsel says I should go but you have to buy me ice cream. No buts about it.” Your straight face begins to falter when Steve’s white teeth shine at you.
“Yeah, I’ll get you whatever ice cream you want.” Steve bobs his head, cheeks flaring pink and eyes shining brightly.
“You can’t kiss, only mommies and daddies do dat stuff.” Aidan pipes in and Steve can’t help but chuckle with how the little boys face is scrunched up with intensity.
“Yes sir.” Steve gives the little boy a solute, while sending you a sneaky wink, and the kid quickly accepts.
“So, I’ll text you?” Steve asks
“Yeah, I’d like that.” Your bottom lip is tucked between your teeth as you say it.
“Okay, cool cool. I’ll ah, see you later.” Steve nods his head, backing away from the table slowly.
Sprinting to the backroom, he sees Robin who pretends like she hasn’t been listening in.
“Robs, I fucking did it!” Steve whisper yells, still cautious knowing your still out there.
“I honestly thought you were gonna back out for a second! I’m so proud of you for hanging in there!”
The two of them start hopping around like jumping beans, beaming so brightly they can outshine any star in the sky.
“So you got her number?” Robin asks, heavily breathing from all their excitement.
“Fuck-“ stopping dead in his tracks, Steve bolts to the door and back out to the front.
That’s where he finds you’ve already left and he’s heartbroken. The only memory that you were even there is your lingering perfume that sticks to the air.
You’ll probably be back some time soon but he’s still a little let down knowing he didn’t fully seal the deal. Looking closely at the table, he notices Aidan left one of his drawings.
Picking up the paper, he looks at it closely realizing Aidan didn’t leave it, you did.
Steve,
You left before I could give you my number. I didn’t want to disrupt your little party or anything.
Can’t wait to get that ice cream.
-your favorite customer
683-027-9305
Folding up the paper, Steve sticks it in the pocket of his apron.
“Don’t worry Steve, she’ll be back.” Robin calls out from behind the counter, apparently not seeing the little not that was left.
“I know she will.” It’s said quietly but the smile on his lips isn’t.
It’s beautiful on this side of the rainbow, Steve thinks, the pot of gold was so worth all the work. Robin was right, he still had it.

Hello love! I simply adore your writing and I was wondering if I could get a Gale Cleven x reader who's dealing with infertility? Probably something angsty? If not, that's totally fine. I'm just having a bit of a rough day :/
hi, sweetheart! 🥺 I'm sorry that you're having a rough day... I am trying to write these stories chronologically but I decided to write this one today so you don't have to wait too long 😊 btw I know that we treat Buck as a fictional character here but as far as I am concerned, real Buck Cleven never had children – at least I've never seen them mentioned anywhere like Bucky's daughters or Crosby's kids 🤔
my inbox is open for blurb/short fic requests for major cleven 🤗
Tumblr media
You didn’t want to go there at all but you knew that you should leave the house finally for your own mental health. Buck was looking worried about you, too, and you wanted to show him that you were slowly getting better after your last miscarriage. But the truth was that some part of you was dying with each one of them.
For the first time it had been sad but not devastating yet – it was common to happen after all. Second time had started to make you worry. Third and fourth had only been a confirmation of your fear – you wouldn’t give your husband a child and you wouldn’t become a mother unless someone comes up with a magical cure.
Your best friend Eva was the only person who had known about it and she was as worried as Buck was. When one of your and Eva’s friends, Nancy, had decided to throw a tea party, Eva insisted on taking you there. So you dressed up and let her take you in her car as Buck watched from the window with a faint smile.
Eva was an independent woman. After her husband’s death in the war she decided not to marry again. She got her own car and managed most things on her own. She was a wild and free spirit and she never wanted to have children so as much as you appreciated her effort to help you – you knew that she would never fully understand your struggle.
The tea party took place at Nancy’s house. There were a few other women and you all sat by the table and sipped on the warm beverage from the china set Nancy had gotten for her wedding. She looked excited and her eyes were sparkling all the time as she was smiling widely. Eventually, you found out the reason behind that.
“So, I wanted you all to come here because… Because I have something to tell you, girls,” she giggled and all the women looked at her, curiously.
You felt a knot forming in your stomach. You already felt what it was.
“I’m pregnant!” She announced and everyone cheered. You did too, forcing a smile. Eva’s hand found yours under the table and squeezed yours to show you a silent support.
You felt tears forming in the corners of your eyes. You got angry at Eva for convincing you to come here but it wasn’t her fault after all, she couldn’t know… You looked around and realised that all other women in the room had children already or were pregnant. Except for you and Eva but she didn’t count since she didn’t want to become a mother anyway.
But the worst hadn’t happened yet.
“Now it’s (Y/N)’s turn,” Nancy smiled at you and you put the cup down with a shaky hand.
“Stop pushing her,” Eva reacted immediately.
“Don’t be like this, Eva. You hope she will never be a mother so you won’t be alone in this,” Nancy’s sister, Hannah, snapped at her.
“We don’t really think about having children, Buck and I,” you smiled nervously and the women looked at each other.
“My husband didn’t want them either but I convinced him,” Janis grinned at you, thinking that her words were in any way helpful.
“We just don’t…” you started and your voice broke. Eva jumped in the conversation quickly.
“Stop pushing her!” She insisted angrily.
“I’m only saying, he can wait but she cannot,” Nancy shrugged her arms.
You didn’t want to make a scene and leave after that so you only pretended to be more interested with the piece of cake on your plate although swallowing it was extremely difficult with a gulp in your throat. You waited about half an hour before nodding at Eva discreetly.
“It’s time for us,” she stood up and grabbed her purse. “I promised Buck to take her back home by eight.”
“These officers, they are all about discipline,” you chuckled while excusing yourself and picked your purse up as well. “Can’t have my Major waiting too long.”
You left the house as fast as possible and waited for Eva by her car.
“I’m sorry, darling,” she told you when she finally joined you. “I had no idea.”
“Let’s not… Let’s not talk about it, alright?” You sniffed back the tears and she nodded, furrowing her eyebrows at you but respecting your wish to stay silent.
In fact, you both remained silent for the whole ride home and she only kissed your cheek when she parked by your lawn and you jumped out of the car to go back inside and hide from the world.
Buck was in the living room, crouching down next to the TV set with a screwdriver in his hand as he worked on some adjustments. You smiled through the tears and leaned on the wall, shyly.
“You’re back already?” He mumbled without looking up.
“Yeah, it was no fun,” you answered. “What are you on about again, Buck?”
“The signal keeps being bad, I can fix that, I think,” he explained.
“Just don’t hurt yourself and, most importantly, don’t break the TV,” you sighed, trying to be in a playful and teasing mood but it was difficult, especially while seeing him – the man you loved… whom you couldn’t give a child.
You burst into tears all of sudden and Buck looked up, worryingly.
“Hey, baby, what’s wrong?” He put the screwdriver down and approached you as quickly as possible to put his hands on your shoulders.
“Nancy… She… She’s pregnant,” you told him and he sighed before pulling you closer and pressing your face to his chest.
“I’m sorry, darling…” He rubbed your back, not knowing what to say.
“And she asked about us not having a baby of our own…” You tugged on his shirt.
“That is none of that woman’s business why we don’t have a baby of our own,” you heard Buck’s voice getting more stern and angry.
“I know… I told her we don’t want babies… I didn’t know what else to say…” You explained.
“It’s alright,” he shushed you and kissed the top of your head.
“No, it’s not…” You looked up with your wet eyes and makeup running down your face. You could see the pain on his face from witnessing you this way and you hated to bring him sadness, too, but you couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. “She said you have time but I am running out of it.”
Buck’s jaw clenched at the words. He hated when anyone was hurting you either with words or actions – no matter if it was a man or woman.
“Nancy’s never been a bright girl, you know that, baby?” He cupped your wet cheeks and leaned in closer to your face. You nodded, unsurely. “Girls like her only care about keeping a husband at home and showing off in town.”
“But I care about keeping a husband, too,” you gasped.
Buck sighed and shook his head, looking for the right words.
“Come here, baby,” he lowered his hands to hold yours as he led you on the sofa and sat you on his lap. You threw your arms around his neck and he pulled you closer by your hip and thigh. “How many times do I have to tell you, sweetheart, that you’re all I want? Only you,” he pecked your lips softly. “You make me the happiest already. Having a baby with you would be only an addition, it’s already perfect the way it is. If we have a baby, I’ll be happy. But if we don’t, I’ll be just as much satisfied,” he explained to you. “And I won’t let anyone say bad things about my beautiful and wonderful wife.”
“Buck…” Your lower lips trembled. “It brings me comfort to know you don’t really care about it but…”
“It’s not that I don’t care. Don’t say that,” he interrupted you. “I care.”
“I know, I’m sorry… But I want this baby. I want to have a baby with you more than anything in the world. I am glad you’ll be as happy without it but I don’t think I will be…” You looked down, ashamed of your confession.
Buck stayed silent for a while, caressing you and keeping you close as he rested his chin on your head and sighed.
“I know, my sweet girl, you just want a baby to love and take care of, right?”
“Yes…” You nodded. “And… And I hate how jealous I get when I see other women with babies or being pregnant. It brings the worst out of me and I don’t like this version of me.”
“Shh, hey, love, there are lots of babies out there who want a mummy to love them and take care of them just as much, you know?” He asked in a soft whisper and you looked up at him.
“What are you suggesting? That we should adopt?” You raised an eyebrow at him.
“Only if you want to,” he nodded and raised his hand to caress your head gently. “I want you to be happy, darling. That’s all I want, nothing else. I hate to see you so sad all the time,” he confessed and smiled sadly.
“It would be lovely to adopt a baby but I’m scared it won’t be the same… Because I want to have your baby, Gale… Ours,” you fixed yourself.
“You know that I’d do everything to make your dream come true, I really would. But some things… They’re just impossible to happen sometimes, you know that, baby?” Buck kissed your forehead. “We can keep trying and trying but it kills me to see you getting even sadder each time it happens.”
You only hummed to yourself and squeezed him tighter. A decision to adopt a baby couldn’t be made in the heat of the moment, you had to think about it more thoroughly. But your husband had a point. You also hated to make him worried so much about you and the fact that he himself would be as happy without having a child with you was bringing you lots of comfort. It would be way worse if he wanted this baby more than anything else.
“I have to heal after the recent loss first,” you whispered to him after a while, “and then we’ll talk about it again, how about that?”
“Sounds about right,” Buck caressed your cheeks with his thumbs and leaned in to place a soft kiss on your lips.

Crashed the Wedding, Part1-3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6
Steve found himself tuning back into his forced nuptials at the sound of… what sounded like a gunshot, but then… surely not, right? Maybe he was imagining things, hoping for some kind of miracle to pop up and get him out of it, at least if something out of his control stepped in then maybe…
Maybe he’d be able to stall, maybe he’d be able to figure out a way to get around his father’s threats, but— no. Even he knew that was nothing but a pipe dream. His parents would get their way, regardless of random gunshots in Hawkins. He wouldn’t be able to run from it, wouldn’t be able to stall, they’d likely just reschedule for the next day, throw money at whoever had it booked up for the day to get them to move.
His parents were nothing if not resourceful.
Nobody else seemed too bothered by the sound, eyes on the reverend at the head of it all, currently blathering on about Corinthian’s 13 as if it had any right being part of the mockery of love that was that wedding, he almost laughed at the segment he’d tuned into.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”
Sure enough, it never ended, but… he let his eyes glance to his side, to the woman he didn’t know, or care for. Was its end relevant, if it’d never begun in the first place? How could love never ending be relevant to a loveless marriage? He had a love already, had let it slip through his fingers through some stupid self-appointed duty that was never his to carry.
Someone had to stay behind though. Who better than the one with no other path to take? The kids were all going somewhere all brilliant in their own fields, Nancy wanted Emerson, she wanted out of Hawkins, a life of journalism, seeking the truth of the world, Robin had followed her seeking her own love, promising to write, to call, she always fulfilled that promise.
He’d never been left completely alone, even if sometimes he felt like it.
And Eddie. God… Eddie. Where was he now? Probably writing some song in a tour bus or playing Dungeons and Dragons with the band in a hotel room during a rare moment of quiet, or hell, maybe he was just passed out in a bed somewhere, holding someone who wasn’t Steve. At least he’d be safe. His life, his career, everything Eddie had built for himself since leaving the hell hole that was Hawkins, would be safe.
If that meant he had to marry a woman he neither knew, nor loved, if that meant he had to live a life without love for himself, well… he’d take that sacrifice too. He just wished he could see him one more time, in person. Not on a TV screen, or in some magazine, although he’d collected each magazine Eddie had appeared in after leaving Hawkins for fame and fortune, nothing beat the real thing.
Nothing could beat that teasing smile in person, those chocolate Bambi eyes, the smell of leather, calloused, guitar string worn fingers skimming up and down his arm as he drifted off to sleep. Nothing on Earth or any other whacky dimension, could beat those simple things that only one person could give him.
“I now ask the Bride and Groom to stand facing one another with their hands intertwined.” He hadn’t bothered to write vows, he knew she hadn’t either, they’d gone with the simple, pre-written ones built into the ceremony. Facing her, seeing how much makeup she was wearing, her features manicured, not a hair out of place, sharp stormy eyes full of judgement and… boredom, she offered her hands; it took every ounce of his will power to take them. Too small, too dainty. He didn’t bother disguising the distain from his face. She paid no mind to it. “Steven Anthony Harrington, do you promise to love, honour, cherish, and respect Harriet Reid above all others, from this day forward until your very last day on Earth?”
“I—”
The doors swung open at the far end of the church, all eyes automatically turning toward the sound as it was followed by an amplified “I object” in a deep, familiar drawl that took Steve’s breath away close, but not nearly as much as the figure in that doorway. “Sorry m’late, sweetheart, traffic was a nightmare.”

Part 1 Part 3
The F-slur is mentioned here but only mentioned, not used to attack or demean.
“I don’t have a wife. I have… I have a husband.”
Future-Eddie slapped him on the shoulder. “Hell yeah you do.”
“They legalise it? They-” Robin looked over at her future self, her eyes glossy. “W- they can get married?”
“Yeah.” Future-Robin squeezed Steve and Robin closer. “Yeah. They can get married. Just in a couple of places to start but then country-wide.”
Nancy nodded along as though this was all tactical information useful for defeating Vecna. “Is anyone else going to come through?”
Future-Eddie shrugged. “Not sure. I think Robin and I were zapped here because our past and future selves were in the same geographical location when there was a pulse. So, sorry to say, Nance, but you’re definitely not about to pop in.”
“Why? Where am I?”
“Still on a plane back from Alaska last I heard.”
“What on earth was I doing in Alaska?”
“Spy shit.” The two time travellers said in unison.
Nancy uncharacteristically stumbled in surprise. “Spy shit? Seriously?”
“Well, personally I believe you’re an international 007, Agent Wheeler, but most of the rest think it’s just plain old boring investigative journalism.” His future counterpart clearly hadn’t lost any theatricality with time.
In fact it seemed to have gotten worse as he waved his arms around. “You’re like, the top dog at it, dude. Literally so good at it that barely anyone knows your name which you definitely use to your advantage. You’re super cagey on details.
“But this time around, you were in Korea when shit hit the fan. Again, don’t know what you were doing there but I did hear Pyongyang mentioned once so you were only a jump away from Kamchatka when Ellie felt a disturbance in the force so you volunteered to go see if it was the Ruskies again, but no dice. Completely filled in with concrete. We have no idea how you got there so quickly but my money is on spy shit.”
Nancy stared at him open-mouthed as he spoke.
“So… So I do it? I make it? I succeed?”
“More than succeed.”
“And,” Nancy bit her lip, like she didn’t really want to ask the question but she was burning to know nonetheless. “The whole… marriage and kids thing?”
Future-Eddie glanced toward Steve, occupied by Future-Robin who was trying to distract him from the conversation and Eddie’s heart sank.
“Nance, don’t take this the wrong way but I don’t think you ever wanted that. I think you were told to want that, as a woman, but it was never you. You don’t have any kids, you’re not married and I don’t think you ever want to be.”
Nancy looked almost relieved at the information and Eddie was so confused.
He still had a thousand questions firing around his head so he decided to latch onto something mentioned earlier.
“Who’s Cassie?”
Future-Eddie smiled softly. “She’s my youngest.”
Eddie choked on thin air. “Kid?!”
“Yeah.”
“Your youngest kid is my age?”
“God, dude. Don’t remind me. You’ll make me feel so old.”
“You are old.”
His future self shoved his arm. “Watch it, whippersnapper.”
“Who’re your other kids?”
“Here, let me show you.” He pulled a slab of something out of his pocket before shaking his head and pulling his wallet out instead. “I think a phone would be a bit too much, so we’ll do the wallet.”
Eddie blinked. “Right.” Like he knew whatever the fuck the guy was on about.
Future-Eddie pulled some photos loose and in the pile Eddie caught sight of a hairy muscular thigh and a torso littered in old scars stretched obscenely out on a bed and dressed in black lace before the photo was swiftly snatched out of sight and Future-Eddie stuffed it down his pants.
“Woah, whoops! You don’t need to be seeing that!”
“Eddie!” Future-Robin called, staring at him wide eyed. “Oh my god, you keep that photo in your wallet?!”
“It was an anniversary gift!”
“He’s going to rip you a new asshole once he finds out.”
“God.” Future-Eddie breathed. “I hope so.”
Eddie knew his face must be lobster red. From what he had just seen of his future husband, he was hot, metal as shit with those scars and willing to do things like… that?! He’d hit the damn jackpot.
If only he’d seen his face.
“Moving on!” Future-Eddie called brightly. “My girls.” He held out a photo of three teenagers backstage at some kind of concert. It looked like they were laughing at something that had just happened behind the camera, their backs to the stage. They all looked wildly different from each other.
“They’re older now, obviously, but this photo… It’s my favourite. Rhea, Poppy and Cassie." He pointed at each of them respectively
The girl on the left looked to be the oldest, blonde and short with glasses, dressed in oversized flannels and baggy ripped jeans. Her mouth was wide open in what must have been a cackle, nearly bent double with one hand on her sister's shoulder, keeping her balance.
The girl in the middle was taller, her hair was dyed a dark purple colour with two piercings over her black painted lips, dressed in flowing black lace. She had both hands up as if she’d just been hiding behind them, her eyes wide and incredulous, seeming to only really let out a giggle.
The third was a similar height to the girl in the middle, black haired and freckled, dressed in bright pastel colours with a cast on her arm. She was half hiding her face behind her hair, turned towards her sisters but her smile was so wide her eyes all but disappeared.
They all looked so happy together.
Holy shit.
He only ever had Wayne and now… well, in the future he has a husband and three daughters (holyshitholyshitholyshit), he’d built a family.
“Pretty unbelievable, right?” Future-Eddie smiled across at him, warm and content.
“Just wait ‘till you find out what he does for work!” Future-Robin shouted at him from up ahead.
Work? Eddie had never had a job before and everything in his future seemed so perfect, maybe this was the downer. God he hoped it wasn’t some corporate bullshit.
“What do you do for work?”
Future-Eddie blushed which was very fucking odd and scratched at the back of his neck. “I’m retired.” He shrugged.
“Eddie. You’re not going to tell him?”
“How can I tell him? Look at him! He’s having the worst week of his life! He’s being hunted by a town full of evangelical nutjobs, you think he’ll believe me if I tell him I have two Grammys and a Tony?!”
“Okay, pause.” Eddie put his hand to his future self’s chest, stopping them both. “I’m gonna need you to run that by me again.”
Because no fuckin’ way, man.
Nuh-uh.
Not a chance it meant what he thought it meant.
Not him.
Not some little rat goblin from rural Indiana.
“Two Grammys.”
Future-Eddie nodded. “Two Grammys and a Tony.”
Eddie wrinkled his nose before scoffing. “Why a Tony?”
“It’s called branching out, dude. Don’t gatekeep, it’s not a good look.”
Future-Robin grimaced from up ahead. “Sorry, he’s sensitive.”
“Yes, I’m sensitive, Rob! Lloyd Webber can suck my dick!” He grumbled and muttered in a way that was clearly supposed to be an imitation, “Not built for writing a broadway musical my asshole.”
“So…”
“So.”
“You’re… we’re like, famous?”
Future-Eddie shrugged. “Yeah. Kinda.”
“With two Grammys.”
“We would have more if we didn’t get banned.” He muttered again, clearly not supposed to be overheard.
Eddie just stared. “Dude! How the hell do you get banned from the Grammys?”
Future-Robin faltered in her steps ahead, stuttering in the middle of her answer to Robin about her work as a translator in Geneva.
His future self started to walk again, trying to brush him off. “Uh… You know what? It’s a long story, I don’t think we should-”
Eddie caught up. “No, no. This is my potential future right? I should know, maybe I can avoid it?”
Future-Eddie raised his hand to his jaw again, almost unconsciously, like those words hit him on multiple levels.
“Some things can’t be avoided, I don’t think.” He sighed heavily. “Alright. I got outed. Publicly. It wasn’t pretty. And it wasn’t just me, my husband got outed too. We called a blackmailer's bluff and they followed through.”
Eddie shook his head, disbelieving. “They banned you because you got outed?”
“No… not exactly. Okay, listen. I was in a really dark place at the time and I was so, so angry and you know what we’re like when we’re angry. It was incredibly controversial at the time and still is, kinda. Like a black stain on the band's past but I wouldn’t take it back if I could, you understand me?
“When I wrote it I was feeling super toxic and bitter and I’m not excusing it because it was so personal but the younger generation have picked it up again and they’re seeing it like it was meant to be seen. Like it’s about having to hide and live in fear all the time and how stressful and unfair it is and-”
Eddie sped up his steps just a little so he could look at his future self. “What did you do?”
“I…” Future-Eddie twisted at his wedding band. “I released a song called ‘Faggot’ and it’s exactly as painful as you think.”
Eddie sucked in a breath through his teeth. “Oh.”
“Yeah. Listen, I don’t really know how this whole divergent paths thing will work, how much of my life you will or won’t experience after this. But everything I went through, everything, made me who I am today. It’s going to be really hard and it really fucking sucks sometimes. But it got me my girls. It got me my husband. I wouldn’t give it up for anything, you understand me?”
He looked back down at the ground, contemplating. Even though he’d just heard of some truly awful shit that might happen to him at some point, he couldn’t help agreeing with his future self. He had the girls. They seemed happy. He had a husband and he seemed truly content with him, even if Steve’s shadow was still overhanging. But he didn’t really know that for sure. He wanted to know about who he was married to, even if he didn’t want to know who.
“Tell me about him?”
Future-Eddie’s face split into a wide grin. “I thought you’d never ask. He’s the biggest fucking dork I know. The sweetest guy in the world, kindergarten teacher, little league coach… he sees everything. Self sacrificial streak a mile wide, giving me grey hairs.” He laughed.
“Sounds like a normie.”
“The normiest. It’s adorable.”
“Eddie!” Future-Robin called, waving him over from up ahead. “I need you, c’mere.”
“That’s sweet, baby. But it would never work between us.”
She rolled her eyes. “Jesus Christ, do you have an off switch?”
Future-Eddie’s grin turned feral. “I-”
“No!” She held up her hand. “Stop. Just come here, fucking hell.”
Eddie watched his own future counterpart practically skip over to the others, throwing his arms around both Robins and Nancy while his mind spun like a record without the needle down.
Fuckin’ time travel, man. What were the odds? But what were the odds of an alternate dimension and demon bats and demon dogs and just general demon fuckery?
And he was fucking married? What the shit. Like he’d pretty much resigned himself to short term secret shameful relationships or quick encounters in whatever club bathroom he ended up at in the city.
Some kind of life of settling down, with kids no less, was not something he’d ever dare believe…
“So.”
Eddie looked over. Steve was walking beside him, staying remarkably steady despite his wounds.
“So.”
He smiled at him but it was a little strained at the edges. “You have a husband.”
“I have a husband.”
And it was only really then that it hit him. Those words. Those words felt so… fantastic to say.
It wasn’t just the fact that he’d come out.
It was the fact that the words ‘I have a husband.’ meant that he had a husband. Someone who loved him unconditionally. Someone who stuck with his eccentricities and his trash panda tendencies. His parents were a terrible example for marriage and he knew, he knew that he would never allow himself to end up that way.
So this had to be it.
This had to be real.
“I don’t think I’d mind a husband.”
Eddie stopped dead.
Steve turned to look at him, a small smirk on his face. He strode two steps in front, continuing to walk backwards, keeping pace before placing a finger under Eddie’s chin and pushing his jaw back up. He hadn’t even realised it was hanging open.
“But… but you’re…”
"Yeah, I'm attracted to girls, I can hide if I want to and have an easy life. But boys are an option for me too. Don’t tell me you think I should play it safe because society tells me to. I thought you’d be better than that.” Steve slowed to keep pace with him again, knocking him with his shoulder and the barest hint of that smug smile on his face.
“Wh- I- I am. I am better than that. I’m sorry I just didn’t expect- you don’t-”
“I don’t look queer? Or act queer?”
“No! No, I didn’t mean…”
But he did mean that. He had thought that. And his shit had now been completely rocked because of it.
His jaw had fallen open again, he just realised. He snapped it closed and his mouth felt so fucking dry. “I think you’d make a good husband.”
“Are you asking?” Steve quirked an eyebrow at him and flashed his teeth with a grin.
Jesus H. Christ he was so pretty.
Fucking hell. Was this what it was like to be on the end of the Harrington charm? God, he was in so much trouble now.
And Steve was still grinning at him, like a cocky little bastard. “I don’t think anyone would want me as a husband anyway.”
“I’m sorry, I’m lost. Who the fuck would ever pass you up for a husband?”
Steve shrugged, a little more subdued than he was before. Eddie only barely caught the glance in Nancy’s direction.
“Wheeler’s loss.”
“No, I mean I get it. I have a lot of baggage and I feel like these bites aren’t going to just smoothe over. What happens then? What’s my spouse gonna do with me once I don’t have my looks anymore, you know?”
“Fuck your looks man, that’s not why people get married. That’s not why I’d get married.”
“It’s why my parents got married.”
“And you wanna have a marriage like theirs?”
“No! God, no. Never.”
“Exactly. So why do you think you’d allow yourself to get tied down to someone who only cares what you look like?”
“Maybe that’s the only reason they’d have me.” Steve grinned as if what he was saying was just fact. “Like I said, I’ve got baggage.”
Eddie shook his head. “We’ve all got baggage, man. I’m not trying to like, invalidate yours or whatever, but everyone has their shit. Yeah your shit is fucking intense, I mean look around, but that won’t matter to the right person. They might have their own. Might not be alternate dimension time travel shit but could be something similar. Maybe you’ll marry a veteran or a refugee. Or maybe you’ll marry someone who’s never experienced anything worse than a paper cut and when they stub their toe they only say ‘oh dear’. Relationships… marriage is a partnership, their baggage, your baggage, it’s there to be shared. It wouldn’t matter to me. I’ll take on my husbands shit and I’ll marry a man who’ll take on mine too. I know I will. I’m sure of it.”
Steve was staring at him like he had six heads.
Fantastic.
After he’d just spilled himself out of his mouth and everything.
But he wasn’t gonna back down.
It’s what he believed in his heart of hearts.
“I just-” Steve started. “I’ve never heard anyone describe it like that.”
“Like what?” To him, it just seemed like common sense.
“Like a partnership. You know like people always say relationships are commitment and dedication and selflessness.”
“Well yeah, they are but it has to go both ways. You can’t have one side putting in all that effort.”
“Partnership.” Steve muttered quietly, considering. “It has to be equal, right?”
“Yeah, now you’re getting it. It has to be equal.”
Steve’s smile was softer now, to go right along with his eyes. “You’re gonna make someone a really good husband one day, Eddie.”
Fuck, wasn’t that just a cupids arrow straight to the heart. And now Steve was looking at him all tender and it was driving him insane.
“You gotta at least cook me a nice dinner first before asking for my hand, there, Stevie.”
Steve shrugged. “Okay. What do you like?”
“Wha- I… What do I like?”
“What do you like to eat?”
Wait.
Wait.
His mind was blank. He should really be able to improv his way out of this but his head was completely empty.
“Italian, I guess?”
Steve’s grin almost turned conspiratorial. He reached up and lightly tugged at one of Eddie’s curls. “Fuck, you’re perfect, aren’t you?”
“I’m on the run from the law at the moment, sweetheart.”
“Not for much longer if I have anything to say about it.”
They were interrupted by raised voices ahead of them. There was a brief moment of panic before he and Steve realised it was just the two time travellers bickering loudly as the trees started to thin and houses began to come into view.
“Well, why can’t we remember any of this then?” Future-Robin asked.
“Because it hasn’t happened to us in our past. It’s happening to us in our present. And their present. How can we remember something that hasn’t happened yet? Because it’s happening now. To four different people. Their timeline has already diverged from ours just by us turning up. This isn't our story anymore, it's theirs.”
She looked at him in disbelief. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
Future-Eddie waved his hand at her. “Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey.”
Future-Robin reached out and swatted him over the head. “You’re such a dork!”
“Hey!” He shoved her. “I only got into sci-fi because of you. Before you I was blissfully existing in a fantasy only realm.”
“Yeah.” She shoved him back. “You’re fucking welcome.”
They kept pushing and prodding at each other before it descended into chaos, devolving into some kind of childish slap war until eventually she had him in a headlock.
“Aaagh, Stevie! Help me!”
Steve just blinked at the two of them, probably trying to figure out how he was supposed to corral two adults who were nearly triple his age.
“So in the future, you and Robin seem to have some kind of… friendship?”
“Friendship?” Future-Eddie squawked. “No friendship here. She’s my soulmate by proxy. My sworn fuckin’ enemy.” From his bent over position he managed to grab her behind the knees and haul her over his shoulder.
“Barbarian!”
“Buckley, my tabletop wife, you know I’m a bard.”
“Would you two shut the fuck up?!” Nancy hissed. “You’re gonna get us eaten.”
Future-Robin was let back onto her feet, quietly.
“Sorry.”
“Sorry.”
It was objectively hilarious, watching two grown adults who could technically be their grandparents mutter their apologies as if they’d just been chastised by the school principal.
It was even funnier watching them punch each other in the arm as soon as Nancy’s back was turned.
“We’re here.” Nancy said, staring out at the houses. “C’mon.” Without a backwards glance, she took off running.
“Nan-!” Robin lowered her volume as they all chased after her. “Nancy!”
By the time Eddie and Steve had followed them through the front door, the rest of them were disappearing upstairs.
“Why didn’t you tell us this earlier?” Nancy was asking, holding what looked like a diary.
“Would you have believed us? You need to see evidence for yourself, you know that.” His future counterpart answered.
“What did I miss?” Eddie wheezed, placing his hands on his knees.
Fuck, he needed to give up smoking.
“It’s 1983.” Robin answered, patting his back.
“Is this more time-travel fuckery?”
“No.”
“Yes.”
Future Eddie and Robin spoke at the same time.
“The Upside-Down is stuck in 1983. The day Will Byers went missing.” Nancy clarified.
“Right. Okay. 1983. Cool.” Eddie gave a thumbs up, leaning heavily against the doorframe. He glanced around. “Hey, where’s-”
He was abruptly cut off as the entire house around them shook, sending him tumbling back into the hallway. The sounds of photo frames and Nancy’s knick knacks crashing to the ground surrounded him but underneath it all his blood ran cold when he heard a pained shout from downstairs.
“Steve?!” He called out, panicked, trying to get to his feet but being defeated by his own severe lack of athleticism and the incessant shaking of the very earth beneath him.
He crawled towards the stairs, thankful that the shaking had stopped by the time he reached the first step.
He flew down them, nearly landing square on his ass again before catching sight of Steve, leaning heavily up against the wall and clutching his sides.
“Steve! Are you okay?” There were red patches starting to bloom under the makeshift bandages around his waist and he hissed in pain, as Eddie took hold of his arms, pressing his forehead into Eddie’s shoulder.
“I just… I just need a minute.”
There was the sound of something ripping beside him.
“Shit. Things move fast in this timeline, don’t they?”
Eddie turned his head and froze, staring wide eyed at the third figure standing next to them.

So I have this one scene in my head, that won't go away unless someone writes it😅
So it's like 10 years after season 4. Everybody is "grown up" , moved away, married, have kids, etc. They have a reunion at the park in Hawkins/Indy Idk?
Eddie is watching the kids. Suddenly a woman comes up to him saying his kid hit/pushed her kid. Eddie who saw the whole thing, says his kid was just defending them self from her kids bullying. The woman asks Eddie, if the kids mother would agree to this behavior. Cue Eddie calling out Honey! And then introducing Steve as their kids mother🤣
Its not much to go on plot vice, but I'm hoping your amazing brain can fill in the blanks😅
I am a Steve secretly likes being called mom truther. Sorry to everyone who isn't. I full believe Eddie started it as a joke, but he noticed the blush on Steve's face and kept doing it, and then the kids just naturally picked up on it and refer to him as both mom and dad depending on the situation. Imagine the confusion on a teacher's face when their troublemaker tells the principal "my mom is gonna be so mad that someone pushed me" and in walks a raging Steve. It's giving comedic relief. I didn't really include a whole lot of everyone in this, just mentioned it was a reunion and had a few moments with the Party. Hope that's okay, it's just difficult to include EVERYONE in a short ficlet. - Mickala ❤️
-----------------------------------------------------------
They came back to Hawkins as often as they could to visit Wayne, especially once they adopted Hannah. Shortly after Nancy offered to be a surrogate for them, they ended up adopting Hannah’s baby sister, Lucy. In case that wasn’t enough, they still decided to take Nancy up on her offer, and they ended up with twins (“can’t do anything halfway, can you?” was Robin’s reaction) Ben and Molly.
Everything happened so quickly, all within two years, that Steve and Eddie turned to Wayne often as their calming presence.
At six years old, Hannah was a spitfire. She had Eddie’s personality despite not being theirs until she was four: unapologetically herself, loud, dramatic, and so fucking smart it scared them both. Lucy, at two (and a half!), was already well on her way to being the same way.
But this visit to Hawkins was different.
Everyone was back.
All the kids, who were far from kids now, and their significant others and kids decided to have a reunion over Labor Day weekend.
Eddie just got off a tour a few weeks earlier, a tour that proved to be quite chaotic when he insisted his entire family join him for two months on the road. Steve argued that it wasn’t necessary, that they would be fine for two months as long as he called every day, but Eddie wasn’t having it.
They took up a whole tour bus by themselves, but the rest of his band loved the kids. They brought Hannah on stage for soundcheck, they even had special headphones made just for her to be able to watch and play the instruments.
Steve usually used soundcheck time to walk with Lucy, find a place where she can run around and let loose all that toddler energy. Most venues they stopped at had a large backstage parking area for the buses and equipment vans, so while Lucy would run around and find weird bugs and sticks, Steve would push Ben and Molly in the double stroller so they could get some fresh air.
Once the doors opened, Eddie brought Hannah back to him and they went back to the bus so Steve could make them all their dinner, give them their baths, and put them to bed. They’d converted the bottom bunk spaces of the bus to a crib space for the twins and Lucy, and made the top bunk more kid friendly for Hannah.
It worked, and it was fun, and it was an experience that they all were happy to have together, but it was exhausting for all of them.
Being back in Hawkins was almost like a vacation.
Compared to the rush, rush, rush environment of tour, Hawkins was sit back, relax, enjoy the breeze.
Especially because everyone wanted their turn holding and playing with the kids. There were some points in the day that Eddie didn’t even know which adult his kids were with, but he was fine with it because Steve was sitting in his lap, more relaxed than he’d been in close to a year.
“Love you, Stevie,” Eddie mumbled against his hair, smiling as Steve curled further into his chest.
“Love you, too, baby.”
“Well aren’t you two just adorable,” Wayne said as he took the seat next to them, Ben asleep in his arms.
“When did he fall asleep?” Steve asked, voice low so he wouldn’t startle Ben.
“You can go set him in the pack and play.”
“Nah. I wanna get as much time with these kiddos as I can,” Wayne said as he smiled down at Ben.
“Is Molly sleeping anywhere?” Eddie asked.
“Last I saw, Max was trying to get her to crawl in the living room, but I don’t think Molly is very interested.” Wayne started rocking back and forth slightly, like he did anytime he held a baby, whether they were asleep or not. “I heard Hannah ask if she could go to the park. If you wanna take her and Luce, we can keep the babies here for a bit.”
Eddie patted Steve’s back, silently asking him to let him up.
“I can take them. Stevie, you can stay here and get some rest.”
“No, I’ll come. Lucy will want someone to push her on the swings the whole time and Hannah won’t want to even look at the swings. It takes two with them.”
They made their way into the house to collect Hannah and Lucy, smiling at the way Max and Will were trying to bribe Molly to crawl with toys.
There was only one actual park in Hawkins, and the playground had only been added about five years ago as more people started moving back into town. It wasn’t impressive, especially compared to their Chicago parks and playgrounds, but Hannah and Lucy weren’t picky.
As expected, Lucy ran straight to the swings, yelling “Ma! Push me on swings please!”
Steve rolled his eyes fondly, but followed her over to them, preparing himself for the next 30 minutes of pushing her back and forth.
Hannah, well, she was a wild child. Literally, Eddie has had to drag her out of a hole she dug in their backyard once because she thought it could be her new bedroom. She cried when she thought that the bugs would hate her for leaving them. She found fun in any outdoor environment, which was good because the playground didn’t have a whole lot to offer other than one slide, a small set of monkey bars, and one tube to run through.
There were only a few other kids playing, all the parents standing off to the side or sitting on the bench.
All moms who would probably not want to talk to Eddie, especially if they recognized him and had been living in Hawkins during the whole, well, thing.
He stood away from everyone, just keeping an eye on Hannah, but occasionally looking over to Steve and Lucy. Lucy was ecstatic, he could hear her yelling “High! Up! High!” and Steve smiling as he pushed her just a tiny bit higher.
It was during one of those moments that he heard a yell and then heard someone walking over to him.
He turned to see a woman, probably pretty close to his age, coming up to him with a stern look on her face.
Oh boy.
He sighed as she stopped in front of him, her arms crossing over her chest.
He glanced at Hannah, who was being shoved by a boy maybe a year or two older than her. Hannah just raised her brow and shoved him back.
He looked back at the mom in front of him, assuming she was the boy’s parent.
“May I help you?”
“You may. Your daughter just pushed my son!”
“Is your son the one I just watched shove her?”
“If he did, it was to defend himself.”
“Hm.” Eddie glanced back up to see the boy crying and Hannah walking towards him. “Maybe your son should keep his hands to himself if he doesn’t like being pushed.”
“Maybe your daughter should learn to move out of the way.”
Eddie smirked as Hannah came up next to him.
“Hannah, wanna tell me what just happened?”
“He told me that I was too fat to go on the slide so I told him I would show him that I wasn’t. And then he tried to pull me away and I didn’t let him so he said that he was going to push me off the top. He tried to, but I’m strong, so he couldn’t. I pushed him back.”
Eddie nodded.
It’s not that he thought his kids were perfect. Far from it.
He got calls frequently from Hannah’s school that she was being too rough with the kids, and he had to remind her that a lot of kids don’t play that way. She never had bad intentions, she just didn’t know how strong she was. Kind of like a large breed dog thinking he can still sit in your lap when he’s fully grown.
But he also knew that because she had never had bad intentions, there was no way she did anything that wasn’t in defense of herself.
“It sounds like your son was rude and put his hands on her first,” Eddie said to the woman, who was turning a violent shade of red.
“There is no way her mother would allow her to act like this. This is inappropriate for young girls.”
Even Hannah knew that was the wrong thing to say.
She covered her face and shook her head and Eddie couldn’t hold back a laugh.
“What is so funny?” the woman asked angrily.
“Her mother is the one who taught her how to defend herself, but if you’d like to talk…” Eddie turned to the swings, where Steve was focused on Lucy. “Sweetheart! Can you come here for a second?”
Steve looked over to him with a frown, grabbing Lucy from the swing and mumbling something to her when she looked disappointed that they were done.
“What’s going on?” Steve asked as he looked down at Hannah, who was patiently waiting to see what Steve was about to do to this woman.
Eddie absolutely loved his children equally, he really did. But Hannah was something else entirely. He felt connected to her in ways that he hadn’t expected when they first met her. If it were possible, he would think she was his biologically with how similar they were in personality, how they both had the same dark curls, brown eyes, loud laugh, and smirk.
The woman seemed surprised to see Steve come over, but quickly went back to the angered demeanor of a moment ago.
“Your daughter tried to hurt my son.”
This woman was not going to convince Steve of that even if she somehow managed to record it on camera.
“What did your son do?”
“I beg your pardon! He didn’t do anything except try to take a turn on the slide.”
“Right.” Steve looked at Eddie, who gave a small shake of his head, then down at Hannah who did the same. “My sources seem to remember things differently.”
“Ma, he said I was too fat and then tried to pull me away!” Hannah was getting more upset now, not because she was in trouble, but because it was interrupting her playtime.
“Which one is your son?” Steve asked.
Oh no. That was the bitchy tone.
Eddie loved where this was going.
“The one getting off the slide,” the woman pointed, but immediately tried to start arguing. “She had no right to push him no matter what he may or may not have said.”
“The kid who is currently pushing another girl out of his way?”
The woman looked over and gritted her teeth together.
“Daddy, Ma, he’s mean!” Lucy yelled as she held Hannah’s hand.
“Yes, baby, he is being mean. That’s why we taught you and your sister to stand up for yourselves when someone is bullying you,” Eddie said pointedly.
“Kids like that grow up to be mean adults who don’t have friends and raise their own kids to be mean,” Steve added with a glare at the mom.
“We all have to take turns on the slide,” Hannah nodded in agreement.
“Ma! Ma! Swing again!” Lucy suddenly yelled, totally over the way this conversation was taking away from her valuable swinging time.
“Sure, baby.” Steve turned to the seething woman in front of them. “Are we done here or do I have to go on about how your son is going to peak in high school just like you did?”
She stormed off without another word, no match for Steve when he was in Mama Bear Mode.
It was so fucking hot.
Steve sighed.
“I’m proud of you Hannah Banana. You okay?” Steve knelt down so he was eye level with her, and pulled her into a hug.
“Can we go to another park, Ma?”
“Sorry, baby, this is the only one here. We can go back to Papa Wayne’s house, though.”
“Can I swing with Lucy?” Hannah asked.
“Of course. How about we swing for another ten minutes and then we get some ice cream?”
Eddie perked up at that.
“Ice cream!”
“You’re worse than the children,” Steve smirked at Eddie.
“Ice cream!” Lucy yelled.
“Can I have strawberry?” Hannah asked excitedly.
“Sure,” Steve ruffled her hair. “Strawberry’s my favorite, too.”
“Brownie!” Lucy yelled, eyes wide.
“That’s my girl! We’ll get brownie ice cream,” Eddie said as he lifted her up into his arms and walked her over to the swings.
The rest of the afternoon was uneventful, which is exactly how they liked it.

Faded Memories (Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader) |Part 12|
Tumblr media
A/N: It's baaaaack!! I know this took literally for fucking ever and I am so sorry to make y'all wait so long. I'm hoping the length of this part makes up for the wait a bit.
You woke up right next to Eddie. You were in his arms as your head rested on his chest. You looked up to see his sleeping face. You kissed his cheek and went to get up but got pulled back into his embrace. "No I want you to stay here." Eddie grumbled out. You giggled. "Eds come on I gotta get up." You struggled against him.
He only grumbled again in protest. "Edddie." You whined. He peaked his head up. His eyes were squint from the harsh light coming into the room. His hair was getting into his face and it honestly looked like a chicken landed on it. You snorted out a laugh from seeing the expression on his face. "Just stay in bed with me. We can sleep in." He said gruffly.
You looked at the digital clock beside the bed. "Eddie its already about to be 12:30, how much more do you wanna sleep in?" You asked. He didn't answer. He only nuzzled his face into your neck. You caressed his hair as he laid practically on top of your chest. "We got a lot to do today. We have to find me a job since I was pretty much forced to quit unexpectedly last night. Then we need to tell our friends that my memory is back officially and-"
"Our friends already know your memory is back." He mumbled out into your neck. "No, only Nancy, Robin, and Steve. The kids don't know and neither does the rest of Hellfire. Plus the guys at your shop would be thrilled to find out my memory is back too." You explained. "I'm not going to the shop on my day off." Eddie deadpanned. "Okay then we can go to the shop tomorrow." You replied.
"Oh and let's not forget we need to talk about how we will go about making our marriage legally official. Personally I think we should just elope and get married at the courthouse." At hearing this Eddie has shot up and looked at you wide eyed. "What? Did you forget that I wanted us to get married?" He shook his head. "No that's not it. I just can't believe you would actually just want to elope and not hold a ceremony." He replied. "Why is that so hard to believe? I mean you already had an actual wedding before. You don't need another one just to marry me."
He still looked at you in disbelief. "You're telling me you don't want a real wedding? Isn't this something you have always dreamt of?" He asked you. "Why? Because I'm a woman? You automatically think I have always dreamt of walking down the isle dressed like a pretty princess in high heels? With a big bouquet of flowers. While everyone I know watches me shine?" You began to rant. Of course you have wanted that but the concept seemed odd to you. Over two months after Eddie's first wedding he will have another one with a completely different bride?
You surely weren't trying to be the topic of conversation going around in Hawkins. If the two of you went along with the idea of an actual wedding the whole damn town would be whispering about the spectacle. "If you're sure you don't want an actual wedding then I would be completely fine with eloping." Eddie stated breaking you out of your thoughts.
You gave him a nod. "Then its a plan. We'll elope."
The two of you ended up calling all of your friends and told them to meet at Nancy's office. You double checked with her before hand and she said it was okay. You were getting ready and Eddie was taking a shower when you heard a knock at the door.
You became a little nervous wondering if it was Kendra. You chucked the idea as you got closer to the door realizing she would just walk in if it was her.
You opened the door and your heart damn near sunk to your ass as you saw your mother. "Y/N M/N L/N. I thought you were in New York to go 'find yourself' but then I heard you were still in Hawkins. You lied to your father and I?! You didn't just lie to me you got married to Eddie Munson? Do you have anything to say for yourself?" She asked as she crossed her arms.
Your mouth was agape as you struggled to come up with words. "Well? I'm waiting." She said seeming impatient and frustrated. "Mom it really wasn't like that. Its much more complicated. I really was supposed to go to New York." You tried to reason. "So what you accidentally missed your flight and married your best friend instead? Did you really think your father and I wouldn't approve or something?"
You shook your head. "No thats not it. I didn't miss my flight to New York. Mom you didn't hear the news about what happened?" You asked her. She shook her head. "No you know damn well that our TV doesn't work that well and your father is too cheap to purchase a new one." She replied.
Your mom had no idea that for this whole time you were gone about what happened to you. You now understood why she was so upset. You forgot about your parents. For all she knew you were in New York and never let her know you were okay. "Mom my plane crashed." All color drained from her face. "It what?! That can't be true. I-I oh my god I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" She asked as she took a moment to examine you.
"I'm fine now mom. I had temporary amnesia and Eddie took care of me. The hospital wouldn't let him visit me until he told them he was my husband. When I woke up he told me the same thing, that he was my husband." You explained. She scrunched up her eyebrows. "I don't understand, why would he do a thing like that?" She asked.
"Because I realized I was actually in love with your daughter." You heard Eddie's voice emerge from behind you. Your mom crossed her arms as she looked at him. "It took you this long to realize that?" You turned your head to look at him. "No. It just took me this long to actually do something about it. I didn't know she had feelings for me too." He replied.
She huffed. "So then you two aren't actually married, just living together? Your father won't be happy about that. He's going to want you to move back home." Eddie wrapped his arms around you. "Well we were planning to actually still get married." He said.
You nodded and gave her a smile. "Well actually I decided we should just elope so that we-"
Your mother put her hand up for you to stop talking. "I'm sorry you want to what?"
"Elope...we don't need to have a big thing out of it bec-" You began to explain. "And you were okay with this idea?" Your mom asked as she looked at Eddie. He shot up his hands in defense. "Hey don't look at me. I tried to tell her we could still have a wedding but she wouldn't listen."
Your mother looked at you again. "Why on Earth would you want to elope? I thought you always wanted a wedding? Hell you even nagged me for eloping with your father myself."
"Thats because you guys deserved an actual wedding." You tried to reason. "And you don't?" She shot back. You remained quiet. "Your father and I eloped because I couldn't leave my parent's house until I was married and they didn't like your dad. Your grandfather refused to help if we had a wedding and we didn't have money at the time." Your mom explained.
You nodded. "I know mom." You looked down at your feet. "Then you know you have a choice to actually do a wedding or elope and regret it the rest of your life." She stated. You gave her another nod. "Y/N you are my only daughter. I want to see you happy. I would love to see you in a beautiful dress and walk down the isle with your father beside you. I know that in the end you will do whatever you want but I think you should take what I said into consideration."
You took a deep breath. "Okay mom." She smiled. "I love you honey bee." She gave you a hug. "I love you too mom." You hugged back. "Now I better receive an invitation to a proper wedding soon or the next time you see me you're going to get another earful." She stated as she pulled away. You let out a laugh. "Okay I get it mom." Your mother was about to head downstairs. "Hey mom?" She looked at you. "Yes Honey Bee?" "Aren't you worried that people are gonna talk about how Eddie is marrying me less than 3 months after marrying someone else?"
"Hon, people are always gonna talk no matter what. They don't directly affect your life so don't let their words prevent you from being happy. Besides, since when did you start caring about what people say to you? I thought I raised you different than how I was raised. I raised you to keep your head held high and to march your feet to the beat of your own drum." She advised.
You knew your mother was right. The woman could be a damn sage if she wanted to. You learned that the best thing you could ever do for yourself in life is always listen to her. "I love you mom." You smiled at her. "Love you too Honey Bee." With that she left.
You shut the door of the apartment and leaned back on it. You looked crossed your arms as you looked at Eddie. "Well I guess we are having a wedding after all." He had a huge smile on his face and went to embrace you. "Have I ever told you how much I loved your mom?" Eddie asked as he hugged you.
"You might've mentioned it once or twice in the past, yeah." You laughed. He pulled away from you. "Now go get ready so we can head out. I'll make us some late breakfast in the meantime." You gave him a nod and went to the bathroom. You brushed your teeth and went to to take a quick shower. Afterwards you walked out the bathroom in a towel and went to your shared bedroom to get dressed.
You searched your drawers and decided to throw on a Fleetwood Mac t-shirt and black jeans with your white All-Stars. You threw your hair up in a side ponytail and walked out of the bedroom. You smiled at the smell of food. "Mmm something smells pretty damn good." You stated as you walked over to see Eddie placing some scrambled eggs next to two slices of bacon on a plate.
He handed the plate to you. "Bone apple squeeze or whatever it is the French say." He said. You burst out into laughter. "It's bon appetit." You corrected him. "Gesundheit" He replied. You laughed again. "No babe I wasn't sneezing I was telling you how the French say it. It's bon appetit." You explained. "Could've fooled me." You rolled your eyes and put your plate down on the table and got yourself a cup of water then took a seat at the table.
You began to eat. Eddie walked over shortly after with his plate of food. "Tastes good Eds." You stated. "Good. I'm not much of a chef." He sat down and began eating too. "Hey babe?" He looked up. "Now that the cat's out of the bag about my memory being back and all, can you tell me what happened between you and Kendra? From what I thought, you guys got married that day of the plane crash. Then I wake up and you decided I was going to be your wife." Your curiosity got the better of you and you just had to know.
He took a deep breath. "Well, after the ceremony when we officially got married, I went to the backroom where I last saw you to look for you since I didn't see you anywhere else." "Okay." You nodded for him to continue. "That's when I found that note you left me about having to leave to catch your flight. By the time I finished reading it and I realized that Nancy, Robin, and Steve helped you to move, I was pissed." You furrowed your eyebrows. "How come?" "Well they did that behind my back and let you leave Hawkins. So I confronted them. The girls were just as pissed too because they blamed me for you leaving, which, to be fair, they were right. They stormed out of the backroom and Steve tried to level with me."
"But what does this have to do with Kendra and you?" You asked. "Let me get there." He replied. "So anyways, that's when Kendra came into the room bitching about me leaving her out there alone when we just got married. I personally didn't give a shit at the time, I just wanted to figure out where you were so I could bring you back. After that I think it was Robin who came rushing in for us to come over to the bar to watch the TV. That's when we saw the news about your crash." He took in a shaky breath and his eyes started watering as he remembered the sinking feeling in his gut when he thought you were gone forever.
He cleared his throat. "Anyways Robin figured you might still be alive but in one of the hospitals in Indianapolis so we frantically looked in the phone book for the name of the hospital. When I called they were too busy to confirm if you were alive so I decided to head there myself to find out for sure. Of course Nancy, Robin, and Steve wanted to come too."
"Wait, and Hellfire club didn't want to come with?" You asked. "Oh, I don't know. They were in the corner away somewhere doing, god knows what at the time." "Oh." "Anyways. By the point that's when Kendra got pissed because she didn't want me to leave the reception. She knew it was a matter of life and death and she didn't even give a shit if you were dead. All she cared about was the stupid wedding. When I realized she didn't care about the most important person in the world to me, I couldn't be with her anymore. I decided to get our marriage annulled and that was pretty much it."
"Wow, I knew Kendra could be a bit of a pretentious bitch, but damn she wasn't even concerned in the slightest if I was okay?" You asked. "Nope." "Damn. Well good fucking riddance. I never liked her anyways." You responded. "Apparently nobody did. I just have a shit judge of character."
"I don't think you have a shit judge of character." He looked up at you with a raised eyebrow. "Okay your judge of character was a little questionable, but I think you're getting better now." His softened as he gave you a small smile. "Thanks."
The two of you finished eating and left the apartment via Eddie's notorious, slightly more questionable than his judge of character's, van. When you got to Nancy and Jonathan's place you noticed you two were actually the last to arrive. "Oh great, we're the ones who made the invite and ended up being the last ones to our own scheduled hangout. Good fucking going, Munson." You half joked.
He snapped his head over to look at you so quickly you could've sworn you heard his neck crack. "How is it my fault?! Last I checked it was your mother who decided to drop by and cause us to be late." He sassed. You blinked a few times not expecting that response. "Well then." Was all you said as you hopped out the van and went inside the ex-diner. Eddie was speeding right behind you.
"Well look who finally decided to grace us with their presence." Dustin said with a very disapproving and sarcastic tone. "Yes, I'm sorry that we were late it was my mother who had stalled us earlier before we left." You said very pointedly and gave Eddie a criminally offensive side eye.
Nancy cleared her throat. "So why did you bring us all to my office for?" She asked. "Right. Um, so as you may all know. I was recently in a very dramatic and tragic plane crash that thankfully didn't kill me. Which by the way some of you," You looked over at the Hellfire Club. "Hadn't come to visit me since then."
"Um excuse me, I call bullshit, we wanted to visit you, Eddie was the one tha-" Eddie made quick big gestures for Dustin to quit talking immediately with his hands. You saw the gestures from the corner of your eye and looked over at Eddie to see him try and play it cool by whistling while looking the other direction. "Eddie what?" You asked Dustin as you furrowed your eyebrows.
It got quiet all of a sudden making the silence awkward. "He told us that you didn't want visitors and that meeting new people would make you hysterical." Will suddenly spoke up. "He what?!" You snapped your head over to look over at Eddie who was avoiding your gaze. "Hysterical? Were you trying to make me sound like a mental health patient?" You asked him.
He gave a small shrug. "Well...technically you were, your mental health had memory loss." He said quietly. "Tha-That's not the same!"
"I feel like we just accidentally opened a can of worms for them." Lucas stated. "Yeah, no, shit Sherlock." Dustin replied. "Okay man, just back off, it's your fault that they're arguing anyways." Lucas snapped back. "I didn't do anything, I was just simply trying to clear my good name. Will here was the one who actually spilled the goddamn beans."
"Me? You clearly started it and just left Y/N hanging without a clear answer I-"Will began but cut off by Steve. "Okay guys knock it off. Y/N, Eddie, for the love of God would you guys just actually tell us what's going on?"
You took a deep breath. "I wanted to announce to everyone that I officially have my memories back." Everyone cheered. "And?" Eddie nudged you lightly. "And we are making our marriage legit." Everyone kind of clapped but some of them were a little slow as they all looked at each other in confusion. "I'm sorry did I miss something? Your marriage? When did you guys get married?" Mike asked. "We didn't" You replied. "That's why we are going to make it legit." You responded.
"I think what Mike is trying to say is that the way that you say it implies that you two are somehow already married." Dustin chimed in. "Oh that. Yes, so since you guys didn't already know, while my memory was out Eddie took me in and had me believing he was actually my husband this whole time. When I got my memory back I just decided to go with it. Last night we agreed we want to be actually married to each other legally." You explained.
"I am somehow more confused then I was before." Jeff said suddenly. "Its a really long story. The important thing is that we are getting married." You replied then looked over at Eddie and gave him a smile. "So....that's it?" Dustin asked. "What do you mean, 'ThAt'S iT'?" You asked him confused. "Were you expecting something else?" He shrugged. "Well I don't know I just would have liked something that was more...I don't know...dramatic?" He tried to find the words. Your mouth was wide open. You looked over at Eddie. In your mind you were hoping he'd handle his child before you blew a gasket.
"Man, what are you talking about? They just announced they were getting married." Lucas tried to reason. "She just woke up from a coma literally two months ago!" He exclaimed. "Sure but did anyone really doubt that they were going to end up together?" Dustin asked as if it was obvious.
"Yes!" Everyone exclaimed.
"He married somebody else." Erica reminded him. "Yeah but for only about a week. That hardly counts." He argued. Eddie huffed. "Well little sheep. If its a touch of drama and shock you look for, then don't you worry." You looked over at him confused. There wasn't anything else to tell. "We're also planning to have a baby."
"What?!" Multiple people exclaimed. "If that's supposed to be an April Fools prank it isn't funny." Robin stated. "Eds we haven't really worked the details out on that." You whispered loudly. "What's there to work out? I mean with what happened last night after I kind of-" You rushed to cover his mouth to spare everyone in the room the trauma. "You then plastered a nervous smile as you looked at the group. "Please tell me you're joking." Nancy stated.
"Dustin you just had to push to hear something dramatic didn't you?" Mike asked. "Well how the hell was I supposed to know they were already planning to start a family? I just wanted them to justify calling all of us over to the same place at once when I was in the middle of creating my very detailed practice diaroma of how I wanted to eventually propose to Suzie next year."
"Dustin you have been making that damned diaorama for over a year. Just put us all out of our misery and just propose to her for the love of Mike!" Jeff exclaimed. Mike had a very serious face and looked unamused. "Sorry." Jeff apologized. "Nonsense, it needs to be perfect." Dustin stated. "Well your need for perfection caused all of us some blissful ignorance." Erica sassed. "Well sorry I was unphased by them wanting to get married. So I wanted some entertainment. Sue me."
"You challenged the Dungeon Master. Why would you challenge him like this?"Gareth asked. "Okay guys seriously we are standing right here. We can hear everything you are saying." You decided to state.
"Well yeah, that's the point." Erica replied. You tried to blink away the shock you felt. "I don't see what's so bad about us starting a family." Eddie finally decided to speak up. "Well typically I've seen couples you know not wake up one morning and decide to get married and then have a baby seconds later." Robin chimed in. "But then again I'm not straight so maybe I can't comment on what's normal."
"I'm not straight either and I'm pretty sure this is definitely not normal." Will stated. "We aren't a normal couple though." Eddie replied. "We are anything but normal. It might not make sense to you guys but to us it does." You added.
"Y/N, I think what we are all trying to say is that we really don't want you guys to accidentally hurt each other...again." Nancy tried to reason.
I nodded. "I get it Nance. I honestly appreciate you wanting to look out for us."
"I'm mostly trying to look out for you. I was the one who was there baawling your eyes out because of him. That really wasn't that long ago. As much as I want to believe this is going to work out for the both of you I have my doubts." Nancy admitted. "Maybe you forgot but he was married to someone else merely a few months ago. He only seemed to really care about you when he knew he couldn't control you anymore."
"Hey whoa, no, hold on. What the hell Nancy? What kinda guy do you take me for? I would never want to control her." Eddie stated trying to shut this shit down.
Nance glared at him. "No? Then what do you call over a month of lying to her and making her believe she was married to you? Looked like manipulation to me."
"Where is this coming from all of a sudden? Do you not want to see us happy?" Eddie asked.
"I don't care if you're happy Munson. I care about Y/N being happy. You weren't there to pick up the pieces of her heart that you broke. I don't trust you and I sure as shit don't trust you to be the father of any child." Nancy spat out.
Eddie was speechless. He knew Nancy wasn't his fan. Especially not after you got hurt but he didn't expect this. He was angry. Not entirely angry at her. It was actually more with himself. He was his own enemy. "You're right." Was all he muttered as he walked out of her small office space.
"You see? He is a God damn coward." Nancy pointed out. "What the hell Nancy?" You shot her the dirtiest look at her. "What?" she seemed confused. "Was that really necessary? I know Eddie isn't perfect. He knows he isn't perfect but he has been busting his ass everyday to make up for the pain he caused me. It's not fair for you to just throw it back in his face like that. He would never something like that to you and neither would I." I felt my face getting red with anger. "Eddie and I will get officially married and start a family together whether either of you like it or not."
I began to head towards the door. Then turned back around. "And another thing, Eddie would be an amazing father. He practically raised the Hellfire club like his kids. How fucking dare you imply he would be a shitty father. He knows what it's like to have a shitty father and he is the type of man to do everything in his power to make sure he won't be like his dad. Nance I love you. You're my best friend but if this is how you plan to treat my husband and future father of my children I can't have you around us." With that I made my exit to look for Eddie.
There was deafening silence after you walked out. "I knew I shouldn't have abandoned my diorama for this." Dustin said finally breaking the silence. "I'm going to kill you." Steve said.

High school sweethearts x Billy Hargrove x female reader
Tumblr media
7 years after everyone left Hawkins high, Jonathan and Nancy hosted a reunion for the old gang. The last time they saw you was during your rocky relationship with Billy during high school, now 7 years have passed and the question on everyone’s lips is ‘are you two still together?”
Warnings: alcohol, the reader and Billy having a slightly toxic relationship in high school, the starcourt mall incident is mentioned in detail
A/N: I’ve received my first request, I hope that you enjoy it. They requested a fic where Billy and the reader use to fight a lot in high school, there’s a reunion and the reader shows up pregnant and married to Billy, Dustin teases Steve as he used to have a crush on you. I had so much fun writing this. I’m from the U.K. sorry if it sounds overly British in some parts. Apologies for all spelling and grammatical mistakes as I’m super dyslexic, enjoy
Johnathan passed a glass of Chardonnay towards Nancy who was sat on their worn out brown leather couch, deeply engaged in her conversation with Robin.
Robin grew her hair down to her shoulders since she graduated Hawkins high, choosing to run as far away from Hawkins as she possibly could, but on her salary it wasn’t very far. She lived with her girlfriend Vicki in a suburban neighbourhood, with one of those white picket fence and all that other bullshit you see in Hollywood movies, only instead of kids they were the proud parents of a grey tabby cat called Freddy. Their neighbours adored them both, but then again Vicki knew that the way to peoples hearts was through their stomachs and her homemade brownies was a sure hit. Their neighbours claimed that they envied their friendship for they were as close as close can be, which caused Robin to splutter out brownie crumbs over Mrs Robinson’s pearly white table cloth. Robin was glad that she could live out the rest of her days surrounded by the woman she loved, far enough so that her parents don’t catch them two in a compromising position for robin’s parents seriously lacked boundaries, but near enough so she could visit (annoy) Steve.
“Thanks babe” Nancy smiled taking the glass from Jonathan’s hands, placing a tender kiss on his cheek.
The light caught the shiny stone that was placed upon her left hand, it shone brightly on the silver band it was situated upon.
“Jonathan it was about time, you had no idea how many nights I heard Nance complain about the lack of ring on her finger-“ Robin’s words that clearly didn’t pass through the filter that laid between her brain and her mouth, was cut short by Nancy shushing her cringing as her cheeks flushed scarlet red.
“Oh was she now?” He questioned, sitting beside his fiancé placing his arm around her shoulder, smirking as he brought his beer bottle to his lips.
“Erm” Robin stuttered bringing her own beer to her mouth to stop her from landing herself into more hot water.
“This dude” Argyle laughed patting Jonathan too hard on the back that it made his beer slosh around in its bottle, which caused Nancy to momentarily glare at Argyle for the last thing she wanted right now was to scrub out a beer stain from her cream carpet.
“This dude had that pretty little diamond ring kept away in his closet for months, like honestly I’m not even engaged to the beautiful Nance but I was freaking the fuck out, if he wasn’t going to ask her I felt like I should”
“Dude!”
Argyle held his hands up in defence, while Jonathan buried his head within his slightly regretting ask Argyle to be his best man.
Argyle still worked at surfer boy’s pizza but this time he was promoted to manager. Argyle liked a stress free simple life, as long as he had enough money to pay his bills and to buy weed he couldn’t be happier, plus he had access to all the pizza he could eat.
The Byers/ Wheelers high school reunion wasn’t supposed to be about their engagement but when Jonathan took his damn time to pop the question, the events almost intertwined.
“I mean it could be worse, you could be a certain you know who” Robin added swigging her bottle back, she choked on the liquid as she realised what she had just said. Her and her stupid mouth
“Robin!” Nancy hissed at her friend
——————————————————————————
Yours and Billy’s relationship throughout high school was rocky to say the least, in fact it was turbulent. You two were both at each other’s throats, it was if you both made a game who would piss each other off the most. The amount of times you both called it quits only to wind up in each other’s beds and arms a few days later, it was nauseating to witness the dizzy game of back and forth between you both.
“Are you fucking kidding me right now!” You screamed, your eyes narrowing capturing Billy in a deathly glare, your nostrils flaring as you tried not to act upon your instinct to punch him right in his fucking perfect face
The cheerleader who was momentarily against his side scurried off not wanting to be caught in the crossfire of your fiery argument.
“It’s not what you think princess”
“Oh really? Then enlighten me Billy, why the fuck was Sophie just hanging off your arm!” You spat glaring daggers into his skin.
“You’re being over dramatic princess-“
“Oh I’m being over dramatic! Fuck you Billy we’re over!” You shrieked throwing the necklace that he brought you on your one year anniversary at his feet. You turned your back to him with tears burning at your eyes threatening to spill.
Robin placed her arm around you dragging you away before you did something you’d regret, but she wouldn’t of blamed you if you planted a punch against his jaw.
“Y/N” billy called after you
“You dare step a foot near her again you’re fucking dead!” Nancy threatened turning on her heels, walking towards Robin who was comforting a very distressed Y/N.
That weekend was spent crying your eyes out on Nancy’s bed, while the girls did their best to comfort you, trying their hardest to conceal the fact that they were secretly overjoyed that you two had called it quits. Just hoping that it was for real this time.
‘Y/N you left your - oh you’ve got to be kidding me!” Nancy groaned upon seeing the all too familiar boy kissing you passionately in the parking lot
Robin gritted her teeth in such a force it was surprising that her jaw didn’t shatter upon impact, trying her hardest to conceal her frustration.
They both loved you dearly but seeing you back in the arms of that jerk really pushed their patience . Like the past weekend that they had just spent picking up the pieces he left meant nothing.
“I’m done with him and I mean it”
“Honey I love you but you say this every single time” Nancy groaned placing a soggy cafeteria fry into her mouth.
“I agree with Nance, Y/N he treats you like shit! You’re a beautiful girl who deserves the world and someone who can adore the ground you walk upon. But honey he isn’t it, I know you love him but you have to call it quits” Robin pitifully smiled towards your direction as she awkwardly rubbed her hand against your back. Really she wanted to scream at you to ditch the loser but she was trying her damn hardest to bite her tongue
—————————————————————————
“Y/N is coming tonight, dude you have to say something to her” Dustin suggested taking a long sip of his beer
“Okay A, it’s still weird that you can drink now! And B, okay just because she’s coming doesn’t mean that’s she’s available. I mean have you seen how attached at the hip she was with billy?”
“You’re kidding right? Hello her and Billy were arguing so much to the point that we all had to take a trip to the nurses office with our killer headaches. She’s now 27 I doubt she has the time for his immature bullshit. So what do you say king Stevie, you ready to save your princess from her tower?” Eddie smirked, elbowing Steve in his ribs while Dustin laughed at the sudden change in colour in Steve’s cheeks
“Shut up” Steve mumbled taking a swig from his bottle, suddenly finding the floor very fascinating to look at. Wishing that the floor would open up a wormhole that would swallow him whole, away from his friends who are finding enjoyment in his embarrassment.
“Aww is Stevie blushing?”
“You have it so hard for her” Dustin snorted which was soon cut short by Steve’s death stare
“I hate you both” he groaned rolling his eyes at the two men in front of him.
“One Rocky road please” ordered a radiant Y/N, she look awe inspiringly beautiful with her cherry coloured lips.
Steve was freaking the fuck out, I mean it’s Y/N for Christ sake. The same girl from his English class who looked effortlessly beautiful without her trying, it’s like she never had a bad day even if she tried. Now she was inches away from him, damn scoops ahoy for making him where this damn sailor suit.
“The lady has great taste” smirked Steve trying his best at being flirtatious, despite Robin telling him that his attempt of a smoulder made him look constipated.
You took the cone from his hands, about to reach into your pocket for the cash to pay-
“It’s on the house”
“Oh thanks” you smiled in disbelief over this kind gesture “you’re Steve right? I’m Y/N we have English together”
“That we do” you turned to leave, smiling at him again to thank him for the free ice cream. He watched you go cursing himself for not plucking up the courage to ask for your number, Robin is definitely going to add a line on the ‘you suck’ tally, Steve swears that he can already hear her laughing at his misfortune.
Steve felt his heart drop as he watched you from the parlour window. As who should place their arm around your shoulder? No other than Billy Hargrove, Steve’s worst enemy in the whole of Hawkins high. The one who took his keg king title away from him but now his crush too!
Steve could feel the anger burning his skin as he watched the blonde haired boy placing a kiss on your lips.
Damn you Billy Hargrove!
So Steve admired you from afar, every time he saw you walk into class wearing Billy’s jacket with a turtleneck that rolled down slightly when you leant forward revealing a hickey, feeling like a bullet to his heart as he wish it was him taking you out on dates marking your skin to show everyone that you’re his. From the fiery arguments he overheard in the halls and the time you showed up to scoops ahoy with mascara staining your cheeks while Robin comforted you in the stock room. He knew one thing, that you were too good for an asshole like Billy.
But nothing could prepare Steve for seeing you both at prom. You and Billy looked vomit inducingly cute, you wore a scarlet floor length silk dress that complimented your every curve, while Billy wore a shirt in the same colour with most of the buttons undone showing off his rippling abs. Your wrist adorned a corsage of red roses and the ring on your finger caught the light like a disco ball. Showing off to the whole school your promise ring, that you are his and wanted to spend the rest of your life with him and only him, no matter how much of the school didn’t believed in your relationship, but you did and that’s all that matters.
His arms wrapped around your waist while you had yours tightly wrapped around his shoulders, your bodies pressed close together, holding each other close while you swayed to a slow song. Soft smiles spreading across your faces.
This killed Steve as he watched from the ends of the room, watching you be happy with him was torture. But if you were happy that was all that matters, and maybe he could be happy to accept that too?
When Steve graduated his parents brought him a house on the outskirts of town, he still continued to work at family video. Steve didn’t need to work with the whole rich parent thing, but he enjoyed the routine of his job and it was a chance to flirt (failing to do so) with the customers as his quest to find someone still continues. Yes he had a few flings here and there but with his disaster of his dating life he was starting to question if love was for him.
He busied himself in his work and keeping his the friendships he made . He had Robin who practically was still attached at his hip, they had regular movie nights ending up in too much beer, getting unbelievably drunk
and him having to apologise to Vicki for having to pick up her very drunken girlfriend. Steve regularly visited Eddie at the hideout not missing a single concert, corroded coffin was really taking off, attracting a large audience and last time Steve heard they were in talks with an agent. And Dustin practically lived at his when he visited from college in the holidays .
Steve must admit it felt weird standing in the kitchen of his ex girlfriend’s house who’s now engaged to someone who once had beaten him up, but when you have spent the last few years hunting down monsters most only believed exist in fiction, weird felt almost like the norm to him.
Mike and Will stood engaged in conversation leaning against a wall, Mike throwing the occasional glance to his girlfriend El who sat in the corner playing with Jonathan’s and Nancy’s puppy Lilly. For the party was getting a little too overwhelming for her and she decided that dogs were better than people, smiling at the small bundle of fluff that was curled up in her lap. Since she left Hawkins she finally felt at peace with her powers after gaining them back and not having a monster wanting to kill her for them nearly every year, and Mike became better at communicating his love for her and never fails to remember to add ‘love Mike’ at the end of all of his letters.
Max arrived to the party with Lucas following behind her, Lucas gave his girlfriend a quick kiss on the cheek before greeting Mike and Will.
“I missed you” El beamed at Max as she slid down next to her handing her a can of soda. Popping the tab and taking a long sip. Max and El were the only sober ones of the party for El didn’t like the taste and disliked the way it made her feel, and Max refused to touch the stuff after the way her mom used to drink herself to sleep. Max recently got her license so she was more than happy to be her boyfriend’s designated driver.
“You too el” max smiled scratching the pup behind the ears that slept peacefully on El’s lap.
—————————————————————————
The clock read out 7pm you were officially an hour late. Everyone was starting to become increasingly concerned that you weren’t going to show.
Nancy and Robin felt a small pang of guilt eating away at them slowly for losing contact with you over the years. Not that it was intentional, when you left for college and then moved house as soon as you graduated they forgotten your number. It wasn’t till Nancy saw Max at the grocery store not long returning from college , she asked about you and Max said that she still had your number.
Maybe you hated her for loosing contact with you, believing it to be personal and didn’t want to show?
The knock at the door brought the pair out of their guilt induced downwards spiral.
Racing towards the door the women practically threw themselves towards the wooden frame, squealing in delight as if they were still in high school. Their old best friend was behind the door and they couldn’t wait to catch up with you over the years they had missed. Wondering if anything has changed, maybe you dyed your hair or got that tattoo you were always talking about?
Flinging open the door the two gasped when they saw you
“Oh my god congratulations!” Nancy screamed out in excitement seeing your stomach that was carrying your second child. Pregnancy suited you for you were practically glowing, you looked happy and they couldn’t be happier for you as you deserved that over your shitty high school experience.
“Thank you” you chuckled as Robin enclosed you in such a tight embrace you momentarily struggled to breathe.
“Robin careful of the baby!” Nancy scoffed slightly slapping Robin’s arm as she finally let you breathe
“I missed you guys”
“And we missed you, we promise that we’re never going to lose touch again. I’m going to be the best auntie Robin to your child” Robin joked, you couldn’t help but beam with joy at your old friends.
It has been 7 years since you last saw them both, but at this moment in time it was like you were all transported to the good old high school days. It felt like nothing had changed when so much had.
“So who’s the lucky guy?”
“My husband-“
“You’re married!” Nancy gasped, a small part of her was disappointed that she wasn’t able to attend it, but you were here now and could hopefully be able to attend hers.
“Auntie Max” called out a childlike voice, as a small girl ran into the house towards where Max was sitting
“Hey tiger” Max smiled picking up the girl and twirling her around in the air, smiling adoringly at the girl who was letting out high pitch squeals of laughter.
Wait auntie Max? That means? Wait what?
Robin and Nancy exchanged perplexed looks, their brows furrowed heavily as they tried to process what they just heard.
The commotion attracted the attention of the three men in the kitchen, who all looked just as bewildered as Robin and Nancy. That means that you’re still together with Billy, you were actually married to him and not only had one child with him but two!
It really should be obvious as little Kelly had the same sandy messy curls as her farther, completed with his piercing ocean eyes. But everything else resembled about her a mini you, for she shared your nose and face shape, she was the perfect combination of you both.
“No fucking way” Eddie whispered with wide eyes as Billy appeared from behind you gently kissing you on the cheek.
Billy hadn’t aged a day since he graduated high school, you both packed and moved to California where he worked part time as a mechanic at the local garage, and weekends he taught people how to surf. Determined to provide enough for his family and to be the farther he never had to Kelly and to baby Dean who was on the way.
While you taught English at a high school, quickly becoming your students favourite, as they said in their own words that you made the boring dusty books that the curriculum required you to teach actually fun. Well at least you did before you took maternity leave, now you were back in Hawkins to stay with Max and Lucas for a few days which subsequently led you to be invited to the Byers and Wheelers high school reunion.
You felt the anxiety bringing up the bile up your throat on the car ride there, every little thing was making you nauseous nowadays. Last week it was Billy’s cologne which ended up with him buying a new one which didn’t make you want to projectile vomit all over the place, pregnancy was the most rewarding and yet the worst thing you ever had to experience. All you wanted was the chance to be able to not have these raging headaches and to relax with a glass of wine sitting in your favourite jeans before they stopped fitting you.
“It’s going to be okay” Billy soothed placing his hand on your thigh rubbing small circles to calm your racing mind, which felt like it was racing at a dizzying fast speed.
“I love you”
“Love you too princess”
——————————————————————————
Robin, Nancy, Eddie, Steve and Dustin all gathered in the doorway between the lounge and the kitchen all looking at Billy in complete bewilderment. From what they last remembered of Billy was that he was quite possibly biggest asshole that they ever had the displeasure to have met, a rude, arrogant dick who had a habit of hurting their friend at any given opportunity. Now he was sitting on the couch with the three year old on his knee, she was giggling at her farther as he was dancing her bear in front of her face talking in silly made up voices. Safe to say that they were all utterly speechless, who would of thought that Billy Hargrove would be such a doting farther?
Kelly was very shy over so many new faces, so she wanted to be close to her dad. She definitely was a daddy’s girl.
“Hey” Argyle softly spoke capturing the three year olds attention, she looked at the new face with a timid smile. Argyle has a warming loveable presence which enticed the small child. “I’m Argyle what’s your name sweetie?”
“Kelly” she spoke shyly
“What a rad name”
In a few minutes Argyle pretty much adopted her like he was her fun uncle, leaving Billy and Y/N to actually catch up with the people attending the party.
—————————————————————————-
Having your body controlled and your life nearly snatched away in a matter of seconds made Billy realise a lot of things. One of them was that he couldn’t lose you, for you are the best thing to have ever happen to him. He acted like a dick to you but in reality he was scared of how much he loved you, it was easier for Billy to turn to his default setting of anger rather than to show this foreign emotion that felt almost uncomfortable to show.
But seeing you clutch his body so close to your heart that felt like it was breaking as each second passed by. You thought that you were going to lose the love of your life.
“Don’t you dare leave me, hang on baby please” you begged, your voice breaking into a strangled cry. Not caring that his blood was staining your clothes, for you needed to hold him close to you. Praying to whoever was listening to save him for you couldn’t live if he was gone.
They say that before you die your whole life flashes before your eyes, Billy saw all the times he hurt you, all the tears he made you cry over the way he treated you. He couldn’t let you have these memories of him to live on when he was long gone, deciding in that moment when his lungs tightened slowing down his breathing, if he was going to make it he was going to do whatever it takes to make things right as he couldn’t lose you.
Billy started to break down his many walls that protected his damaged heart around you, he started to communicate his feelings and not hold them in till they burst out and he says something that he later regretted. Once he was out of the hospital he started to see the school counselor, he begrudgingly dragged his ass their every week, he hated attending every damn session where he was forced to talk about his shitty upbringing but Billy is doing whatever it took to make your relationship work. He was determined to do whatever it takes not to fuck up again as much as it scared him to say he loves you, he truly loves you and couldn’t afford to let you go.
Billy knew that you were going to be the one he was going to marry since the first day he laid eyes on you , yes you still fought but at least it was about small menial things that could be easily talked through, but now your relationship was stronger than ever.
Now there was no good and bad, it was just good and you both couldn’t be happier. Billy adored the ground you walked upon, he cared for you in every way he possibly could. He brought you flowers every Friday and you felt truly loved and adored by him, not this bittersweet lustful romance you experienced in high school. This now was true love, Billy was a great farther and a great husband doing all the old romantic cliches but you loved him for it.
Everyone in the party once didn’t believe in your relationship, thinking and wishing that it’d all be over soon to save the heartache for all of you. But seeing the way he looked at you with doting eyes, like you were the most beautiful woman ever created, they all admitted that they were wrong for it was clear to see that he loved you and you loved him.
A/N: I had so much fun writing this and I hope that you liked it , my requests are always open is you want me to write a fic based on any idea you have. Also Argyle gives me fun uncle vibes and El definitely would befriend the host’s pet.

remains of the day - e.m (corpse bride au)
a/n: trust me to tease this fic at halloween and not finish it until january LOL (also this is just vol I unless ppl want more!)
plot: the misfortune of Hawkins has left the town destitute, and your family in financial ruin. what better way to remedy that than to marry off their one and only daughter to the richest man in town? there's only one problem....your heart really isn't in it, and neither is your husband-to-be's. but a little practice of your vows to soothe those woes won't exactly give you the courage you were hoping for.
cws: corpse bride au, emily!eddie, victor!f!angelface, victoria!steve, major character death, descriptions of gore/rot, marriages and dowries, jealousy on both sides, a hint at eddie's abandonment issues/fears of rejection, premarital hand-holding, twinges of unrequited love.
word count: 2.4k
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"With this hand, I will lift your sorrows.
Your cup will never empty, for I shall be your wine.
With this candle, I will light your way in darkness.
With this ring, I ask you to be mine."
How hard could those vows truly be? And yet you can't get your head around them–no matter how easily they come to mind, they won't fall from your lips properly, despite how many times you've tried.
And that rehearsal….abysmal. You're shocked that Steve even stuck around, that soft smile never leaving his face as he watched you butcher every word of every line of your vows. He deserves better than you, and considering what you've heard through the grapevine (and the town crier, of course) there's another woman that's held his attention for awhile now anyways. Maybe the only reason he stayed for you was because he was picturing her the whole time, and that thought itself makes you want to lie down in the snow under this tree and never get up.
Not that you wish his affections were turned towards you, instead–actually, you wish that she was in your place. Nancy would do better at this, the two of them would be happier, and you wouldn't have to suffer this horrible, continuous disappointment in yourself. It's only been going on for….well, for your whole life.
The wind whistling through the bare branches catches your ear, and almost sounds like the whisper of a voice, your head turning towards the sound but your eyes finding nothing but trees and snow. It's eerie out here; cold and dry, the breeze blowing wisps of your hair about your face, but the woods saying nothing more. It's too quiet, and those ill feelings draw up into your lungs until you manage to wave them away with a brush of your hand, your fingers coming to clasp around the collar of your dress. Too tight–it is all too suffocating. All of it. You dearly wish you could be left out of this whole affair, because you would much rather be a bystander than a participant.
"Oh, Lady Harrington!" You greet a tall, faceless tree trunk and tug on one of the branches, spindly and long in a way that much resembles your future mother-in-law's careful hand. "Call you mum? I'd be delighted to." Shake shake. The bark crackles under your fingertips and snaps, and you're left sighing and holding a twig in your palm that you quickly let drop to the ground.
"What's the point? I'll never be able to do this…" You wonder aloud, meandering about the roots of the massive tree you've taken up solace beneath, your mind wandering with an overflow of worries that all seem much less grand in the shadows of the forest. You find yourself humming the words of your vows to yourself, whispering them under your breath as if you weren't just talking to yourself loud enough for even the crier to hear. There's likely a running story about my madness by now, you think to yourself, the final words of your script coming out a bit louder as you kneel by one of the upturned roots of the tree, stretched out like a delicate finger on a thin hand. "With this ring…"
You produce the ring from the pocket of your dress, and smile somewhat depressedly as you slip it on to the mock hand of your lover.
"I ask you to be mine."
What a silly thought. You could almost swear the hand twitched, shuddered in anticipation, but it must be the wind–and the crows, you've only just noticed, are cawing rather aggressively at your back. A slight twinge of anxiety gnaws at you, you turn to look and search the hills for some animal creeping up-
"Ah-!" But when you do, your wrist is grabbed by something stronger–something that wasn't there before, something with your golden band on its finger that digs into your skin, and yanks you down like it's pulling you into the earth itself. It tugs, and tugs, and finally with a breath of air pumped into your lungs you scream and tear yourself away, the disembodied hand coming with you to clench harder around your wrist. With a violent shake it comes off and skitters across the icy ground, but before you can get to your feet, something even more terrifying happens before your very eyes.
The dirt cracks and crumbles from the spot where that branch had sat, pieces shattering away and stray roots snapping as something, a person-like something, rises from beneath the earth and stands towering and tall above you.
Lush, curly brown hair fans out over his shoulders, and a pair of warm brown eyes devoid of light greet your own. Pale, corpse-like skin gleams under the moonlight, but the exposed bone of his arm, legs, and the side of his neck betray that he really is just that–something dead, heart rotted away with cavernous holes in his body to show it.
He kneels before you, so close your body warmth leaches into his touch, and his lips make way for a toothy smile down at you as he caresses your face. His fingers don't feel at all like they look, leathery and branch-like….they're cool, but incomparably soft.
"I do."
He leans in for a kiss, eyes half-lidded with glory-filled glee, and the world finally blots out into complete darkness as you faint from the shock.

"A new arrival!"
"Darling...I think she fainted. Darling?"
A poking, prodding sensation at your side isn't what roused you, you're sure it's the soft sounds of music and the foul, sickly-sweet smell of rot–but when your eyelids flutter open, and you shriek at the sight of that same young man accompanied by a skeleton standing over you, the two of them share a relieved grin rather than step back. He touches your face again, gentler this time, and moves to cup both your cheeks as he whispers your name. "There you are! My angel."
Now that you've got a better look, somehow you're…not as frightened, but still somewhat. Maybe it's that the lighting is better than the dimly-lit woods, and you're warmer wherever you've been laid down, but the curly-haired man doesn't evoke that same sense of terror now that he's holding you.
"You're even prettier than I imagined." He strokes that velvety skin of your cheek with his thumb, the compliment falling on attentive ears and eyes that just can't look away. But where in the world is your sense? Aside from being a kept woman, he's quite clearly dead, and you stagger to your feet a little too quickly just to get back and find some space between you two. Upon doing so, though, you bump into something solid–a bar counter, the woman on the other side pouring drinks like you're not even there. She just shoots you a grin, and a few of her teeth fall from her mouth into the frothy stein.
They all are, you realize. Every single person here is in varying states of decay, the crowd surrounding you and milling about the bar with curious stares and whispers at the newcomer. And with only one of those corpses feeling somewhat familiar, you huddle up next to the man's side to his giggling glee, his hand coming down to rest on your arm as you clutch at his for safety in the face of the dead. Two of which are raising their pints, and clanking them together with booming cries on their cracked lips.
"A toast to the newlyweds!"
"Newlyweds?"
You gape in shock, and he nods down at you. A smile stretches wide across his ghastly white face, and he pats your hand affectionately.
"In the woods! You said your vows so perfectly." He shows off the gleam of the golden band of his finger with a flourish, looking on with pride both at it and you. It looks good, and you selfishly gulp back some triumphant feelings at realizing you did it right–but you shake them right back off as reality hits you even harder in the face.
"I did?" Your voice a careful whisper, you move to let go of his arm, only to be caught and held there a touch longer by his frozen hands. "Oh, God…I did."
Stupid, stupid! How could you be so stupid?! Yet you can't really be blamed for it, how could you even think about directing those vows at a corpse by accident? It's not like your parents ever warned you about that…and your heart races when you remember. Your parents, your soon-to-be husband, and everyone else in the wedding party are probably wondering where in the hell you've disappeared to.
"Y-You don't understand! I have a fiancé," You try to shuffle backwards, finally having wrenched your hands away from your undead partner, and he leans in close without a worry or care etched into his face. Steve must be worried, he must be…maybe. Or maybe he's forgotten about you already. Your shoulders fall a little, but your gaze is commanded back up by his hands on your shoulders.
"Not a fiancé, silly. I'm your husband. Although…I guess we have yet to have the ceremony, so technically you're right." He cocks his head, hair swaying a little–you can spot a few spiders here and there, swinging from curl to curl as he speaks without taking notice to them.
"No, not–ugh, how can I explain this? I was just practicing! I-I didn't actually…I wasn't…" To push on his chest is like shoving a brick wall; he's unmoveable, his chest hollow but his bones strong as he stands over you. How can such lifeless brown eyes demand so much pity?
"But you…you said your vows? What's the problem?" You can't bear it, that well-meaning face falling into what is unmistakably a pained expression. His hurt feelings are betrayed by the crack in his voice, and if the circumstances weren't so strange, you'd be a bit miffed at having such a conversation in the midst of a nosy crowd. As if this were a normal situation, a marital squabble between the shoulders of bar patrons and not drunken cadavers. "...I thought you wanted to marry me?"
"You're dead," You say without thinking, and it cuts deep and harsh–shock and hurt flashes across his face, and he flinches back as if you had cut him with a knife. The bar, which once had been bustling with chatter and delight, grows quieter as their beloved friend whimpers with tears just about breaching his dead eyes.
"But I…we…you really don't want to marry me?"
"I don't even know your name." You mutter back, suddenly shy and quiet with an ill feeling churning about in your stomach. Guilt. This young….dead man has done nothing to you, and though neither have you to him, the unfortunate fact is that he is very clearly attached–even though you know next to nothing about one another.
"It's Eddie." He sniffles and drags his sleeve across his dripping nose, yet spits both syllables out as if it were a curse. Though, for most parts of the village, it is–you could recognize that name if it were said in your sleep, and had you not been clinging to him just a few minutes prior, it would rouse you from your slumber in panic and terror at the utterance of the most notoriously bloodthirsty psychopath of Hawkins.
"Eddie?" You blink owlishly at him. "Eddie from…from the accident?"
"I'm sure everyone's heard about me by now." He looks down, despondent. Unwell and miserable, resigned, not like the murderer you've heard whispering tales about in the alleyways and lifeless bars of your hometown….not like this lounge, that's speckled with colour and bursting at the seams with life long past lived. "But it's not true. I'm not like that. I'm not…"
"...Mean and scary?" As the words slip out, you tilt your head away to keep yourself from looking at him straight, though you can't avoid the gentle touches of Eddie's cool fingers as he splays them over the back of your hand. Holding it delicately like a paper fan, keeping it close to him but not indecently, he borrows it for a short while and perhaps it's merely to feel a bit of your human warmth. You'd like to think that, and yet the intensity of his gaze on your lips says otherwise.
"Do you think of me like that? You think I'm mean and scary?" Eddie leans on his side against the bartop, eyes never leaving you even though you struggle to pull your shoulders straight, as a lady should, and finally let his full form come into your vision instead of simply his feet.
"I…I'm frightened, yes. But not...of you."
Eddie sucks in a short, quiet breath, before letting it settle in a soft exhale as he pulls your hand towards him–a bit too excitedly, as it turns out, and he releases it with a lighthearted chuckle and scratches the back of his neck, his eyes widening for just a passing moment as he feels a bit of skin come loose and anxiously smoothes it back down before you notice. Sufficiently put back together as much as a corpse can be, Eddie takes a much more firm hold of your hand in his, and lets you feel the glimmering gold of the wedding band on his finger as he starts pulling you along away from the counter.
"Let's go somewhere we can be alone, then. I know a place." He says with a smile, and parts the crowd easily who are all too giddy to throw compliments and congratulations your way. They are….rather pleasant, for dead people.
However, you know you must grit your teeth and bear these niceties for the moment. Until you can find some path away from Eddie, and back up to the place where you belong, you will play along with his games. You will entertain him. Perhaps you may even earn his trust, and he will reveal to you a way out.
Above all, you will not be wed to a corpse, nor will you fall in love with one. That is part of your oath to Steve, and to your parents, and to everyone, to be faithful even when faced with such a morbid test of faith as this. You will do as you are told, all according to plan, whether or not Eddie makes this grim future seem more….palatable than the one that awaits you upstairs, the clock ticking away every second until the union you have been promised to.

When Y/n Macher Loomis said her first word
Tumblr media
(This is my first time writing a story, pls give me a break)
Daddy! Stu Macher x Bubba! Billy Loomis x Toddler!Fem!Reader
Summary: Your dads bring you into a high school reunion and they never expect you say your first word. (In this story Tatum Riley and Randy Meeks are alive, they never dated Sidney and Tatum in this story, Neil Prescott is the Ghostface)
Warnings: Fluff, soft!Billy Loomis, soft!Stu Macher, Tatum and Sidney being the lovely aunties, Randy being the goofy uncle.
Tumblr media
Billy Loomis and Stu Macher never thought of getting married and having kids.
After the graduation of the Woodsboro High School, they decided to departure in different ways.
Sidney Prescott was traumatized by learning that her dad Neil Prescott, murder her own mother, Maureen Prescott because she was cheating on him with Nancy Loomis' ex-husband Hank Loomis, causing her leaving Billy and his father behind and murdering other students who had nothing to do with his marriage.
She wanted to forget the horrible things that happened in Woodsboro and decided to moved to New York with her girlfriend Tatum Riley.
Randy Meeks decided to leave the town and move to London, starting his chapter away from that once called peaceful town who turned into a nightmare.
After their friends and family left this once peaceful town, Stu had realized that he fell in love with his best friend from middle school.
He thought that it was just a stupid crush and it would be over but it didn't stop, he was just afraid of Billy's reaction.
Billy fell harder for Stu, the person who he could trust, he couldn't trust his own parents or himself, after realizing that Stu was the only one he trusted the most of his life.
He wanted to hold him, to hug him, saying 'i love you' over and over again, building a home, having two dogs and children running around their home, so Billy and Stu decided to tell their feelings after they wanted to stay in Woodsboro.
1 year later after the graduation happened in California, Stu and Billy decided to get married in Las Vegas and they had their honeymoon in Paris, when they come back from the honeymoon, they found a baby girl in their front door, sleeping with a note next to her tiny body saying:
"Hello my name is Y/n Macher, I'm Stu Macher's daughter, by the time you are reading this, my mom decided to be in a place called heaven, she did love me but she was so sad because people left her alone with a child, she couldn't hold the pain and wanted me to be taken care of, she said that she will be watching me.
Please take care of me for her,
Rebecca Morgan. "
Billy was surprised when Stu had a daughter but he slept with a 30 year old woman named Rebecca Morgan when they graduated in high school but he wasn't mad at him, Y/n wasn't at least 2 years old, it's not her fault that her slut mother fucked others guys to have Stu's attention.
So they decided to adopt her and she was their hope, pride and joy.
Y/n Macher Loomis born in November 2nd 1999, adopted daughter of William 'Billy' Loomis and Stuart 'Stu' Macher.
Stu is the emotional and overprotective parent while Billy is the most overprotective and caring parent, he makes sure that you listen and don't disobey their rules.
Stu loves to dress her up, gives her showers and spoils her while Billy has a soft spot just for his daughter and husband, she love to give him kisses and cuddles while Stu takes pictures admiring the daddy-daughter bound.
They decided to bring Y/n to the reunion, she was wearing a pink dress with a white socks and shoes, while Billy and Stu are wearing suits.
Billy was in love how she look, he and Stu weren't mentally ready when her first prom dress, her first wedding dress, the anniversary dress. They weren't ready for their daughter to grow up but they knew that she can't be small forever.
Tatum, Sidney and Randy arrived to Woodsboro High School and they were surprised when they saw Billy and Stu married and Billy holding baby Y/n on his hips while looking what was around her.
Tatum and Sidney were so in love with the baby and Stu decided to talk with Randy while the girls went to see Billy and Y/n.
"She's so cute and adorable" Tatum said with happiness on her face, admiring Y/n's beauty
"Thanks Tatum, how are you girls?" Billy asked to Sidney and Tatum
"Well we moved to New York, Tatum works as a fashion designer and I'm an actress, you?" Sidney said and asked
"Well that great for you, me and Stu got married and we have this pride and joy" Billy said while he smiled at his daughter and making her smile
"What's her name?" Tatum asked
"Y/n Macher Loomis, we found her in the front of our house when we came back from our honeymoon" Billy explain it to Tatum and Sidney.
"At least she has two people who cared about her" Randy said him and Stu were next to the girls while Stu picked up Y/n to put her on his lap.
After a while, they stared to talk about their life after the graduation and they heard a voice saying
"Bubba?"
They started to look at Randy and starting to get suspicious
"Randy, stop doing that voice" Sidney said while being annoyed by him
"It wasn't me, I'm promise" Randy defending himself
"Sure, keep lying." Tatum and Sidney said at the same time
"I'm not lying, maybe it was the baby" Randy trying to blame Y/N
"Really, are you going to blame my child Meeks?" Billy defending her while Stu looked at her
"I can't do that voice Loomis!" Randy trying to defending himself
45 minutes later, they talked again but this time they didn't look at Randy instead they look at the toddler in Stu's lap
"Bubba?!" Y/n said while pointing to Billy while sitting in Stu's lap and everyone was shocked
There were tears threatening to leave Billy's eyes and he was so happy that his daughter said her first word.
Billy decided to pick up Y/n and hug her while Randy was next to Billy and asked her
"Y/n can you say Randy?" Hoping that she would say his name
"Bubba!" Y/n saying while hugging Billy
Billy never thought that he couldn't be a good husband and father, after all, Y/n and Stu proved him wrong

Nayeon
“It’s a beautiful night.”
The small brook that ran behind the venue cut the silence of the night as you and Nayeon stood with your feet in the cool water. It had been Nayeon’s sister’s wedding and she was the maid of honor, the color scheme had been a slightly off white color for the bridesmaids but in the dim lighting of the moon and stars you couldn’t help but picture Nayeon as your bride. Ironically, she had even caught her sister’s bouquet so it only furthered your daydream of her. “You look beautiful, Nayeonie, you could almost pass for the bride if I didn’t know any better.” Your comment caught your girlfriend off guard as she smiled shyly, “Wouldn’t that be nice. Us getting married.” You bit your lip as you reached into your pants pocket, your heart thundered in your ears as you turned to face her fully, “Why not make it real?” You held up the open ring box as the diamond glinted in the dark, you could hear Nayeon gasp as she stared at you in disbelief, “But, what about the laws and…” You shushed her gently, “We’ll figure it out, I promise. We always do.” You winked before you looked at her unsurely, “Um..so does that mean, yes?” Nayeon laughed out loud as she nodded rapidly, holding her hand out for you, “Yes! A million times yes, Y/N!”
Tumblr media
Jeongyeon
“We’re looking for something dumb to do.”
You and Jeongyeon had been best friends ever since you were in diapers and girlfriends ever since you guys turned fourteen. Over the past twelve years together you both dreamed of a big wedding, hundreds of guests from both sides of your families as they watched you guys marry your soulmate. But the government didn’t seem to catch up with your wedding plans, so you both settled for a small get together in her parent’s backyard as you read each other your vows as a family friend married you both. It wasn’t what you guys had dreamed your big day would be, but you couldn’t help but feel like it was better. Because this was real. Jeongyeon’s eyes glimmered with unshed tears as she slid the ring onto your finger. You could barely keep it together either as you placed the ring onto her finger, “I hereby announce Yoo Jeongyeon and L/N Y/N, married! You may kiss.” To your surprise Jeong pulled you into a deep kiss as your guy’s small audience erupted in cheers. It was perfect.
Tumblr media
Momo
“Hey, baby.” (Inspired by the song: Nancy Mulligan)
The rush of the past few months seemed to begin creeping up on you and Momo as you got ready to get married in borrowed clothes from a few friends you had met in this new city. You both decided to quit your jobs and move to Taiwan so you could get legally married. It had been a long six years of pinching every penny to finally make the big move and leave everything you guys had ever known behind. But nothing could change either of your minds as you stared at the woman you loved, “I can’t wait to make you my wife, Momoring.” The Japanese woman grinned as she squeezed your hand, “Likewise, Y/N-Chan. Ready?” You returned her smile as you kissed her softly, “I’ve been ready for the last six years. The moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were the girl for me.”
Tumblr media
Sana
“I think I wanna marry you.”
The lights of Tokyo were beautiful but so were you. And Sana just couldn’t wait any longer to have you. Your arms were linked with your girlfriend’s as she pulled you into a small alley, her lips finally on yours as you both hid from prying eyes. You couldn’t help but smile as she pulled away, resting her forehead against yours, “What’s gotten into you these days, Satang?” Your girlfriend shrugged, “I just really love you Y/N, but I can’t make you mine because of stupid laws and stuff.” You shook your head, “What does it matter? We love each other and even if the government doesn’t see it that way, all that matters is how we feel.” But Sana still looked convinced, rubbing your arms, “I know, but I wish I could marry you.” You bit your lip as you pressed a kiss to the Japanese girl’s lips, “Then run away with me.”
Tumblr media
Jihyo
“Well, I know this little chapel on the boulevard. We can go.”
Neither you or Jihyo could understand the words of the song that played overhead as the two of you slow danced in each other’s arms. You couldn’t help but look at the way your’s and Jihyo’s rings glittered in the low lights of the random bar you guys had stumbled into after leaving the courthouse. Happy and proud smiles adorned both your faces as you couldn’t help but pull her into a kiss, “I can’t believe you’re really my wife, Mrs. Park.” Jihyo couldn’t help but feel the smile on her face grow wider as she stroked your cheek, “Likewise, Mrs. Park.” You giggled at the sound of your new surname, “Don’t wear it out.” The short haired woman pecked your lips, “I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of hearing it.” You pulled your wife closer as you buried your face into her neck, “Me neither, yeobo.”
Tumblr media
Mina
“Who cares if we’re trashed? We got a pocket full of cash, we can blow.”
“Do you have everything, Y/N?” Mina called your attention as you looked at your guy’s now empty apartment. You nodded distractedly, “Yeah, I’m all set, Minari.” But your answer didn’t sit well with your girlfriend as she placed a warm hand on your cheek, “Hey, anata, look at me.” You couldn’t explain it, no matter what, Mina always seemed to ground you, “What’s going on up there?” Your girlfriend questioned as she lightly tapped your temple. “I just can’t believe we’re really doing this, I know we’ve been talking about it for years. But it’s just a little…scary, y’know?” Mina smiled lightly, “Do you love me?” You nodded immediately, giving her a look that screamed, ‘Of course I do, why do you think I’m doing this’, she giggled at you, “See, and I love you. That’s all that matters. I know it’s scary to leave everything we’ve ever known but my parents set us up to stay with some friends back in Texas so we can get on our feet after we get married.” That word seemed to pick your spirits up immediately, “Right, I finally get to marry the girl of my dreams.” Mina grinned as she pulled you into a kiss, “Ditto.”
Tumblr media
Dahyun
“If you’re ready, like I’m ready.” (Prompt for the react was inspired by: 🧸 anon)
It was yours and Dahyun’s fourth anniversary and she had taken you out for a whole day doing what you both loved and to top it off, she planned a picnic in a beautiful field of flowers as you guys watched the sunset. She sat between your legs as you nuzzled into her neck from behind, “I love you so much, Dahyun-ah, I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.” Your girlfriend had been fiddling with something in her hands for the past few minutes but you couldn’t tear your eyes away from her as she whispered, “I want to marry you.” The admission didn’t shock you, you two had been saying that for the past year every time your guy’s little world was perfect. You just smiled grimly, “I would say, ‘Yes.’ to you forever. But until they legalize it here, I guess I’ll just have you to myself.” That’s when you felt Dahyun grab your left hand and slide something onto your ring finger. This time the action actually shocked you as you held up your hand to see the flower ring she had placed on your finger, “It’s beautiful, baby. I love it.” Your girlfriend laid back on you further, “I just wish we could make it official.” That’s when an idea suddenly popped into your head, “Then let’s do it, I’ll book a flight to the US and we’ll get married there.” In your haste and excitement you reached over to pick a few daisies and clumsily made a ring of your own. You held it in front of Dahyun, “Kim Dahyun, will you marry me.” The brunette’s face split into a wide grin as you slid it onto her finger, “Yes.”
Tumblr media
Chaeyoung
“I’ll go get a ring.”
Of course it had been your rebellious girlfriend’s idea to go to “Sin City”. But who knew she was also a big fan of Elvis Presley. Chaeyoung had blindfolded you and told you to get in the car, normally this would seem like a kidnapping but after being with Chae for over five years you learned to just go with it. Which is how you found yourself in front of a wedding chapel, “Chaengie, where are we?” The Korean smiled as she held onto your hand tightly, “I saw this online! You can get married by Elvis Presley here!” Your jaw dropped as you stared at your girlfriend in shock, “Jagi, you know there’s nothing else in the world I want more than to marry you. But what happens when we go back home?” Chae just flashed her signature smile as she grabbed your hand, “We’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Together.”
Tumblr media
Tzuyu
“Who cares babe? I think I wanna marry you.”
Anniversaries were meant to be special. And Tzuyu knew exactly how to do it. You and Tzuyu had been together for nearly six years now and the Taiwanese girl had been itching to ask you to marry her, but there was only one problem. Your parents hated your guy’s relationship, which is why the both of you had moved to Tzuyu’s home country. Taiwan’s night life never ceases to amaze you with all the new sights and smells as you and Tzuyu laugh loudly, leaning against each other as you walk. The buzz from the two or three maybe five drinks you shared was starting to take effect as Tzuyu suddenly stopped at a pier, making you stumble slightly before you caught yourself on the railing. But you couldn’t help but notice the sad look in your long-time girlfriend’s eyes, “What’s wrong Tzu?” The brunette sighed as her gaze fixed itself on you, “I don’t know if it’s the way the moon is reflecting in your eyes, or because we’re a little drunk. I wanna marry you Y/N.” The confession made your jaw drop as you suddenly felt very sober, not knowing what to say for a second before a smile made its way to your face, “It’s about time you asked.” Tzuyu looked at you in confusion, “But what about your parents? I’ll never get their blessing till the day I die!” You shook your head, “I love you, you love me, your parents love us, and we moved to Taiwan. I ran away from home with you and we’re in the only country in Asia where we can get married.” You reached out to cup Tzuyu’s face bringing her close enough that the smell of the strawberry margarita hung in the air, “Screw my parents, I’m gonna marry the woman I love.”

celebrate
summary: A drabble based off the idea that Bess would be throwing a celebration for Nancy and Ace once the curse is broken.
Author Notes: Thanks to @scarletslippers and @flythesail for the inspiration
Read below or at A03.
-/-
“If you’re looking for anything related to the following colors: magenta, fuchsia, ruby, pastel pink, peach, or any combination of the above, we are out.”
“I wasn’t going to ask…” Bess is not even halfway into the door, the jingle of the bell hung at the corner of the hinge still midway through its melody as the rehearsed warning is offered to her as a customer to the sole party supply store in Horseshoe Bay.
Then the middle-aged blonde woman peeks from behind the flood of inflated helium balloons floating in front of her and apologizes, “Oh, I’m so sorry Ms. Marvin, I didn’t know it was you.”
“That’s ok Mrs. Clemmons, I just came in for a few supplies,” clinging to her purse in a bit of a worry.
Her face still falls after a flicker of relief, “But I do have to also have to mention, our glitter supply is also running low.”
Bess has an instantaneous reaction to shed a tear, but she didn’t need the glitter, today.
(least not right away)
“Actually,” she swallows down the emptiness of zero sparkles in her vicinity and clutches to her purse strap for her purpose and smiles into the hope of it all – because it was a happy moment – at last. “Do you have anything for a party celebrating a couple who is about to become uncursed and is finally getting together?”
Mrs. Clemmons breezes out a laugh and blushes a smile from behind the counter, “one of these days I’m going to figure out how you come up with these outlandish themes for a party.” She settles her giggle and answers directly, “aisle three is anniversaries and aisle five is general congratulations. You might find some items between those two.”
“Thank you.”
Bess skips off to the first mention, anniversary, because she thinks, let’s face, they’ve basically already been married for a year anyway…

A Recipe for Disaster (Chap. 4)
Pt.1 | Pt. 2 | Pt. 3 | on AO3 here
Tumblr media
Steve and Nancy walked along in silence for a while.
Steve says “Nancy, I don’t want to make you do this.” at the same time Nancy says “You aren’t making me do anything by the way.”
She smiles and motions for him to continue. “If I had any more time or any choice in the matter I wouldn’t make you do this. I still don’t want to.”
“Why are they making you anyway?”
“They..uh.. Want to make sure the whole media fiasco that happened back in the States with my fri_that guy Tommy, won’t become..permanent? I guess?”
“They want you to marry a noblewoman, not a nobleman.” She nods in understanding.
“Yes, that’s definitely a much better way to put that.”
“I see.”
“And I uhm, I’m not just interested in noblemen, I could go for both..both noblemen and noblewomen” Steve admits, rubbing the back of his neck.
He dares to look at Nancy, who’s smiling softly at him.“Good to know, thanks for telling me.”
She leads them to a nearby bench and pulls him down to sit beside her.
“Steve, I am more than happy to do this for you.”
“But you have dreams of your own Nancy, you have things you want to do too that specifically have nothing to do with the royal life.”
“I already knew that my own dreams would be unrealistic for me. I am a royal woman. I knew this would happen at some point.” She’s still smiling kindly at him.
“That doesn’t make me feel better about this at all, you could marry Jonathan. You aren't in line for your own throne because of Mike, right? So why do this at all? You barely even know me." She thinks for a moment. "I believe you will be good for Genovia and a good representation of the future of all our countries. You didn't come from this world, have made mistakes in the recent past that any teenage person would, but you have moved and grown so far past them that you're willing to fall in line with your government in order to lead your people."
Steve was stunned into silence; he definitely hadn't been expecting all that from this woman he'd only known for a short time.
"Plus I’d rather marry the one royal that would support those dreams of mine than to one that’d try to snuff them out, just like I figure you’d rather not marry some other random person who’s only there for show. I do plan on helping you with this as much as I can; I promise you will be hearing a lot of my advice and opinions in the future.” She gives him a wink.
Steve laughs “Yeah, I’d expect nothing less.” he pulls her into him for a hug “Thank you Nancy.”
“You’re welcome, Steve.”
‘Why? Why did I choose tonight to sit out here? Why couldn’t I have just stayed my ass inside??’ Eddie cursed himself, ignoring the small sputtering flame in his chest for the king-to-be as he shot up from his seat in the gardens a good ways away from the two intruders.
Seeing Steve in the clear golden sunset had only made the small flame for the man to grow stronger, if not bigger. His heart completely ignoring the beautiful young woman Steve had in his embrace, and the ache in his foot from his last encounter with the prince.
Eddie snapped his journal shut and slouched back towards the palace, hoping he wouldn’t be spotted by the other two.
Nancy’s parents had arrived two days after she and Mike had, and brought along Nancy’s youngest sibling, a delightful little girl named Holly who Steve absolutely adored.
He and Nancy talked a lot in those two days; She had told him what to expect from her parents, said her mom was really the one that he’d have to get on with despite her father being the current ruler (“Will do, can’t wait until Mike takes over for your dad and I have to deal with him on the regular.” Steve had said with an eye roll, Nancy giggled and responded with “Yeah.. mom will still be the one in charge there too, good luck Mike.”). Lucky for Steve, Karen LOVED him and only asked a couple awkward questions about future heirs.
“Oh, uhm, yeah someday, sure, but nothing until Nancy is ready.” He’d placated her, knowing full well he and Nancy hadn’t talked about that whole part of their arrangement yet.
“Don’t be so humble about it son, you need heirs. Best get to it sooner than later.” Nancy’s dad, Theodore, had responded and got a smack on the arm and a “Dammit Ted, why must you always make things awkward.” from Karen.
Steve had excused himself then to warn Nancy about what may be coming (who had rolled her eyes and very bluntly stated, “I’m in no hurry at all. Come on, let's get with Hopper so we can leave already.”), before setting off to the seaside village of Mertz for their first public outing.
It was going well enough, though the cliffside beaches they were walking along were definitely more windy than he’d like.
They trudged through the sand, arm in arm, purposefully trying to ignore the paparazzi until they absolutely couldn’t anymore, and laughing quietly at Ted’s huffing as he also trudged along behind them and Joyce.
“About time we gave them a wave, don’t you think?” Nancy asked.
“Yep, I think so..” Steve sighed in return and waved towards the gathered cameras who all started clicking and flashing the moment he did.
He glanced down at Nancy and caught her small smile at the cameras for a brief moment before her patterned scarf was suddenly whisked away from the collar of her coat and started breezily rolling back the way they’d come.
“Oh shit!” Steve started after the scarf, and so did Nancy.
“A prince shouldn’t run for a scarf!” she laughed as they both again just missed grabbing the slippery thing.
“Neither should a princess!” he laughed back and suddenly he was flopping forward, having finally grabbed the damn thing, but tripping in the process. He landed on his side in the sand and Nancy similarly flopped down next to him on her stomach as if she’d tripped over him after he went down, but Steve had a fleeting suspicion it was just so he wasn’t embarrassed on his own.
“Your scarf, your highness.” He spoke in Dustin’s patented haughty voice as he wrapped the thing back around her neck.
“Why thank you good sir!” She parroted back in the same lilt before dissolving into giggles.
They spent the next week together, doing whatever came to mind, really. They played badminton, they had dinners together with everyone, he listened to her complain about how it was growing up with Mike, he’d read some of her pieces (and they were as good as he thought they’d be), and just went for strolls together in the gardens.
These walks were usually reserved for the more important chats, ones reserved for full honesty with each other. Like about how he’d always wanted a bigger family but that he’s not about to make her do that if she didn't want to. How she could definitely see herself with Jonathan. He in turn told her about his unfortunate feelings of heartbreak when it came to Lord Edmund.
“I only knew him for a couple minutes but that’s all it took; I really think it was a goddamn love-at-first sight scenario…before it was ripped out from under me literally two days later. It stung. Bad.”
Nancy rubbed his arm comfortingly. “He seems like an ass.” She says in a completely serious, sensitive tone that causes a laugh to bubble up through the sudden tightness in his chest.
“That’s the thing though, I really want him to be, but he may very well not be.” Steve sighs, and pauses for a moment. “I really don’t want him to be an asshole…” he finishes quietly.
“You could see yourself with him, couldn’t you?”
Steve thought about it while they shuffled slowly along the path. Could he? The image of Eddie beaming at him during his coronation, of Eddie sitting at his side in the throne room while he meets with the public, a painted version of he and Eddie, a little bit older, standing side by side and hanging beside Joyce and Robert flashed through his head, one right after the other. Against all common sense, Steve found himself wanting that more than anything.
He also realized that the small fire that had sparked in his chest that night when he saw Eddie through his window was decidedly not hatred.
“No, I don’t think I could.” Steve lies right to Nancy’s face. Like the coward he is.
She looks at him like she doesn’t quite believe him, but drops it anyway; “Lets head back in..”
Eddie hears the unmistakable sound of Steve’s voice carrying down the main path and up the small offshoot where he’d decided to sit with his journal today.
‘How the hell am I always out here when they are??’ Eddie thinks bitterly.
He’d purposefully tried to ignore their conversation but Steve had started talking about some ‘him’ and his curiosity got the better of him.
“I only knew him for a couple minutes but that’s all it took; I really think it was a goddamn love-at-first sight scenario…before it was ripped out from under me literally two days later. It stung. Bad.”
“He seems like an ass.” Says a lighter voice that must be Nancy.
Her words pull a shaky laugh out of Steve before Eddie hears him continue.
“That’s the thing though, I really want him to be, but he may very well not be.” Steve sighs, and pauses for a moment. “I really don’t want him to be an asshole…” he finishes quietly.
‘Oh fuck, are they talking about me??’
“You could see yourself with him, couldn’t you?”
It’s like her question was directed at him and not at Steve; against his will, Eddie's brain flips through the possibilities before him if, against all odds and against what Parliament wants, Steve chose him to be his Prince Consort.
Eddie can see himself standing off to the side and smiling proud at Steve’s coronation, sitting beside him as he meets with the public in the throne room just like Queen Joyce does now, by his side at any number of nameless events, just with Steve.
That sputtering flame that had grown just from seeing Steve a mere few days previously, burns so hot in his chest it’s like it’s actually burning a hole through his shirt. He absentmindedly places his free hand over the spot on his chest and wishes it would go away.
“No, I don’t think I could.”
Those six words coming from Steve’s mouth should have done it, but it just makes his heart burn hotter, as if in defiance. As if his heart is falling for Steve harder out of spite. Like his heart is yelling out to Steve itself: ‘I’ll show you, I’ll prove we’re not an asshole! We’re gonna prove it to you again and again until you’re ours.’
Eddie waits until they’ve gone before starting down the same path and into the palace. He hears a couple voices talking as he enters through the ballroom, and glances up to see the new security intern talking to a tall, gangly looking teen. ‘Damn they are really letting anyone in here these days..’
They spot him too as he enters, and the intern calls out to him. “Good evening Lord Edmund, have you been introduced to Prince Michael yet?”
“Ah, you’re another royal, that makes more sense,” Eddie says and approaches Michael, hand extended “Lord Edmund Muñoz, your highness.”
“Ah, so this is the guy?” The dark-haired teen says to the shorter curly-haired one while taking Eddie’s hand.
“Yep, this is the one.”
“Am I allowed to ask what guy I am?”
The two boys share a look, then look back to him “Run a campaign with us.” they say at the same time.
Eddie’s stunned. “Wh_what? How do you_?” he sputters, then clears his throat “How’d you know I play?”
The two boys shrug, and Michael says “You looked like it.”
The other elbows him and is very obviously holding back laughter.
“I looked like it.”
They nod.
Eddie sighs, “When are you thinking?”
Steve escorted Nancy to her room and bid her goodnight before heading off to find Joyce.
They had spoken since Nancy’s arrival, but Steve had purposefully kept it short, and Joyce had respected the boundaries he’d put up in the meantime, but now it was time to talk to her again fully.
He arrived at her door and gave two quick knocks. “Aunt Joyce, it’s me.” he called through the door.
“Come in, Steve.”
He heads inside and finds her at her desk, completing some sort of pile of paperwork.
“Can we talk?”
She spins in her chair and stands, gesturing to the loveseat for him to sit, which she does as well.
“I’m sorry I was short with you when you invited Nancy here.”
“No, I should apologize for inviting her here without your knowledge. I shouldn’t have assumed anything and I…I just wanted to give you your best possible step in the right direction.”
Steve pulls her into a hug “I know, thanks for everything, Aunt Joyce.”
They stay in the embrace for a while before parting. “So is it going well then? With Nancy?”
He told her everything he’d talked about with Nancy over her time at the palace (minus his confessions about a certain visiting Lord), “I think we will make this work out just fine.”
“I am so happy for you Steve, thank you for telling me.” she smiles at him, placing a hand on his shoulder
“Well, there’s one other thing I wanted to talk to you about.”
“Why am I so damn nervous? We both knew this was coming anyway but now it’s here and I can’t get rid of the pit in my stomach and…” Steve trails off and looks to his gathered audience. The three people he trusts most (would have been four, but Hopper “actually has work to do.”) Robin, Joyce, and (surprisingly) Dustin sit on one of the couches in his suite and watch him pace back and forth at the end of his bed.
“You can do this, Steve; you both know what is in store for you and like you said, both knew this was coming.”
“You have nothing to worry about, sweetheart.”
“You’re only nervous because you have that giant rock in your pocket.”
The other three laugh at Dustin’s observation, and it was true, the ring that’d previously belonged to Steve’s grandmother was a hell of a ring. “Yeah, that’d do it.” Steve chuckles, “OK. I can do this.”
He and Nancy had talked about this previously too, they’d be outside under Genovia’s famous pear tree, in view of the paparazzi when they were called and eventually showed up. To do it in front of the media will cement the fact that much faster and hopefully give them enough time to make wedding arrangements.
It was insane that it’d only been a week since his birthday and now here he was, about to propose to a princess just to keep his family’s legacy.
“Here you are, Nance.” Steve hands her the small velvet box that he’d been toying with in his pocket all day.
She puts on a great questioning look that morphs expertly into feigned surprise when she opens it. She puts her free hand to her chest and says “Oh, Steve..”
“It was my grandmother’s ring, she and my grandfather were married for 54 years, Joyce thought it’d be good luck.”
Nancy smiles at him softly, “Do I have to put it on myself?”
“No, no, I can do that.” Steve chuckles. He takes the ring from the box and slides it onto Nancy’s ring finger, though it’s a bit big for her. They can both hear the incessant snapping of the paparazzo’s cameras as soon as he does. “I'll get it resized for you while you’re gone.” he says and gives her a wink.
“It’s beautiful, Steve, thank you.” She gives him a kiss on the cheek and he hears the cameras start up once again.
“Nice move.” he says and they laugh to themselves as Steve helps her up and they head back inside.
-
“Fly the lovebirds..” Murray speaks into his earpiece as he watches Steve and Nancy approach the door to the palace’s front staircase.
“Are you ready for this?”
“Only if you are Steve.”
He nods resolutely and takes her right hand in his left before stepping forward and out onto the landing.
Hundreds of people have gathered to celebrate his and Nancy’s engagement. They have flooded onto the front lawn, some were wearing fake tiaras and crowns and most were waving the small Genovian flags.
He and Nancy stop at the railing and wave to the masses, taking it in for a moment and smiling for his people.
“I can’t believe they’re all here for us.” he leans over slightly to say to Nancy
“Hm?” she hadn’t heard him over the crowd so he tries once more, this time sweeping his arm out at the citizens
Speaking a bit louder this time, Steve says “It’s crazy they’re all here for u_” and cuts himself off as his hand comes into contact with something and it moves away from him; reacting immediately, he scrabbles for the small pot of flowers and clutches it to himself, seeing some of the crowd laughing, but he hopes he pulled off that save.
Nancy, the hero she is, takes the other pot from the railing, raising it to the crowd minutely and turning back into the palace with Steve.
Dustin is doubled over in laughter.
“You are the dingi-est Dingus that there’s ever been.” Robin is shaking her head and laughing at him as she takes the pot from him.
“Yeah, yeah, I know_Dustin, seriously it wasn’t that funny..dammit, you too Nancy? All I am is hated in this place. Hated!”
“Seems you were wrong, dad, Steve’s managed to find a wife within a week.
“Stephan can’t possibly be happy with the concept of an arranged marriage.”
He thinks for a moment before continuing “and if I know anything about her highness, she couldn’t be happy with the idea of any marriage..Your task is to romance her. Show her what a real relationship could be. One with fire, and passion!”
Eddie was still caught on “romance her” so it takes him a moment to catch up to what his father said. “And change her mind about Steve.” he says flatly.
“Precisely; the 30 day deadline expires, and the throne is ours.”
The only thing Eddie can think is what his heart is screaming at him; “Forget the girl, get Steve! Show Steve what a relationship with you could be like. Woo him. Woo him!!”
Later, with Nancy already turned in for the night since she was returning home the next day for a short time, Robin similarly zonked out from her own meetings with a handful of dignitaries she’d offered to take from Steve while Nancy was visiting, Steve had time to himself.
His thoughts were going a mile a minute (When will the wedding actually be? When is Nancy coming back again? Who does he bring the ring to in order to be resized? He needs to get new wedding bands for the two of them. He needs to start prepping for his coronation ceremony too…), so, as usual, he started walking.
He started meandering down hall after hall and had been for a while when something pulled him out of it.
From ahead of him, down the darkened hallway, a door, about half-open, was spilling warm light and laughter into the hall. Curious, Steve walked forward as quietly as possible, though his steps couldn’t have been heard over whoever it was that spoke from inside.
“....you are all backed into a corner, literally. Only Will the Wise still stands, weakened, but far better off than the rest of his party, standing between his friends and the horrible demogorgon.”
‘Is that Eddie?’ is the first thought that comes to mind as he finally comes to the open door. Every other thought is wiped from his brain at the sight of him, standing over a table covered in papers, small little things that look like weird shaped dice, and a couple figures like the one Steve had seen Eddie painting that day. His hair was completely down, and it was wild. It was full, curly, and Steve wanted to sink his hands into it and pull, just to see if doing so would pull any noises from that perfect throat of his.
“I cast fireball!”
Steve is startled out of his thoughts at the sound of another voice. He was so lost in EddieEddieEddie that he completely missed that there were other people sitting at the table. ‘Holy shit, pull yourself together Steve, the fuck is wrong with you??’
The voice was Will, and Steve could see Dustin and Mike at the table as well. Behind the table on a small couch, were Max and Ellie, the latter of whom looked to be re-braiding the former’s hair.
Will rolled one of the weird looking dice and for some reason this was the moment that the Dungeons & Dragons game that Lady Applejack said she loved and the D&D that Dustin somehow knew Mike played were one in the same. ‘Duh, Dingus.’ he could hear Robin’s voice tell him in his head.
Everyone at the table was looking at Will’s die, whatever it had landed on must’ve been a big deal because everyone jumped up and started celebrating. Eddie’s voice cut through the commotion and said “Will the Wise cast straight and true, hitting the beast directly in the center of its chest! It’s completely engulfed in flame, and crumbles to the ground in ashes mere seconds later.”
Steve is so completely captivated by Eddie that it’s the shuffling of the other teens gathering up their things that startles him out of his trance. He hurries down the hall and around the next turn before anyone can see him, and sets off back towards his suite.
The overwhelming worried thoughts that plagued him only minutes before are now replaced by thoughts of Eddie and a heart burning so hot Steve can almost feel his chest above it crumbling into ash like that damn demo-whatever from their game.
Murray finds him on the steps of the ballroom the next morning, finishing up a call as he starts to pass.
He stops on the same step Steve is sitting on and doesn’t say anything for a moment, long enough for Steve to look up from his journal in curiosity.
“Why, may I ask, are you sitting on the steps of the ballroom?”
“Thinkin’ I suppose.”
“Ah, so we’re hiding from Dustin then?”
Steve winces minutely "...Maybe.."
Murray blinks at him before he remembers he has a phone in his hand and moves to finish taking the call. He makes sure the mouthpiece is turned away before telling Steve: “Nancy’s plane just took off; I’m assuming she already has plans to call once she lands?”
“Yep, thanks Murray.”
He bounds up the stairs two at a time and Steve rolls his eyes at his retreating form.
Giving a quick look around, Steve pulls the velvet box out of his pocket and opens it. He’d made sure to get the ring back from Nancy before she left to have it resized and cleaned, and already made plans to go with Hopper later on to drop it off himself, but for now, he just admires it. It’s a true antique, created specifically for his grandmother when she was to be wed to Stephan the First, created around a huge round diamond that shone like the moon.
Someone whistling pulls him out of his thoughts and he snaps the box shut just as Edmund comes into view from between the two staircases.
He’s dressed sharply in all black, his wild curls pulled up fully into a messy bun at the back of his head. The new hairdo and the unbuttoned top buttons on his shirt leave the full column of his throat bare to the world and Steve has to swallow away the evidence of how much his mouth had started watering at the sight.
Edmund glances at the box in Steve’s hand “Are you having second thoughts?”
Steve huffs as he stands, shoving the box back in his pocket. “No actually, I was just admiring it. It was my grandmother’s you know, an_” Steve’s heart stops as Edmund crowds close to him.
Steve nearly stumbles down the two steps on shaky legs as he escapes from between the other man and the railing. “Well if you’ll excuse me, I need to see to some wedding details.” Steve starts up the opposite staircase and pushes his glasses up his nose as he realizes Eddie is following, just on the other set of stairs.
“I’m sorry, is there something you wanted to say to me?”
“No, no, you are the one who stomped on me with your big feet. And you know what they say about guys with big feet.”
Steve felt his face burn up at the insinuation and decided to ignore it (for now) “Well you know, you danced with my big feet.”
“That I did, big boy, but may I remind you that we only danced for about a minute.” Eddie said as he also reached the top of the stairs.
Steve was taken a back for a moment ‘So he also thinks someone wouldn’t be able to fall for someone that quick.’ he thinks to himself, both fully realizing how ridiculous that sounded and also fully believing that somehow Eddie knew that he’d caught feelings in that short time.
“It was more than a minute.” Steve says to aloud to Eddie (and to himself).
“Maybe a minute and a half..” Eddie shrugs
“Fine. It was a minute and a half, but it was also a lie. Because you didn’t tell me who you really were or that you were trying to steal my crown.” Steve points his finger into Eddie's chest accusingly.
Eddie rolls his eyes at him “My apologies your highness, you see, normally, when I ask someone to dance, I make it a point to show them my family tree.” voice dripping with sarcasm.
“Murray? Have you seen Steve today?” Steve’s eyes widen as he hears Dustin's voice echoing down the hall in front of him.
“Nope, haven’t seen him.” Murray calls, a bit too loud “Wasn’t in the ballroom when I went through and I came right in from outside.”
Murray was giving him an escape.
Steve walked past Edmund, checking his shoulder a bit “You wanna know what else you were doing while you were doing your little lie dance?”
“The hell is a ‘lie dance’?”
“I’ll go check myself, thanks though Murray!”
Steve panicked, wanting to continue to confront Edmund and not wanting Dustin to walk in on it, he opened the next door he reached, a small broom closet, and gestured for Eddie to get in.
He looked confused, but smirked as he slid in past Steve who followed him in and shut the door.
“You know very well what you were doing with your ha_”
“And what exactly was that, your highness?” Once again, Eddie crowded close to Steve, this time to reach past him and flip the lightswitch off.
For a brief moment, Steve allowed himself to be this close to Eddie, nearly wrapped up in him and fully engulfed in the spicy scent of his cologne before Eddie pulled back and Steve turned to flip the light back on.
“Exactly what you are trying to do now, you’re flirting with me to try and get one over on me.”
“Is that what I’m doing?” Eddie flips the lightswitch again, staying in Steve’s space this time, lips pulled into that same smirk and eyes hooded.
“Yes, and it_” Steve turned the light back on and pressed himself into Eddie’s space, this time doing his best to whisper-threaten him “And it’s not going to work on m_”
Suddenly the door was flung open, Steve snapped his head over to look at who opened it and pushed Eddie back away from him at the same time.
Dustin stood there, slack-jawed, then quickly pulled himself together “My apologies your highness, Lord Muñoz.” and closed the door on the two of them again.
Steve wanted to say something as he did, but the door closed on them before he could utter out a single syllable.
After a moment, Eddie reached his arm in front of Steve to flip the light off once again “So, where were we?” he purred in Steve’s ear.
Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, Steve turned his head to Edmund and spoke quietly “You are trying to ruin me and I won’t let you.” then let himself out, slamming the door behind him and on the other’s face.
He heard the door creak open soon after, “You’re the one who told me to get in there in the first place!” Edmund called after Steve, having already started off to find Dustin.
Steve clenched his fists tighter and continued on his way.

Okay that was a good episode. I didn't expect to cry a few times, but Judd and Wyatt are such a great dynamic. Oh my god, the whole being too soft thing (Carlos and Gabriel anyone??). Wyatt taking it upon himself to go talk to the chief; Judd coming around and helping him prepare for the academy. Love to see it! Also, I love how Grace and Judd even after being married for years (do we even know how many??) can still lovingly rib each other, LOL. But yes, Judd, Grace is the wisest woman ever. Someone had a poll up about who was going to call Judd Grandpa first and I chose Grace, so I loved to see that. I just knew they were gonna call each other that at some point after they found out.
And I even cried at the end with Mateo and Owen when Owen took him to the fire station and not the police station. Did not think I would get emotional over anything Mateo-related 😬 (sorry Mateo fans). Also, Nancy darling, how much more money do you have saved up, cause wow, just being able to pull out $24,000 holy crap.
I loved seeing Tarlos together on a call, and they actually talked to each other on it; no death glares from Carlos this time LOL. That call made me cry too (maybe I'm just overly emotional today). The lady giving the kids all their stuff back and wanting them to stay for juice, aww.
The whole sitcom thing was over the top and hilarious. It seems to be so hit-or-miss with people but I thought it was good. The mustache LOL! Ahhh.
I kept seeing people complaining about recovery not being shown again, since Marjan was back with the 126, but it's clear that she hasn't been in the field so, I hope this calms people down. And we know we're going to be seeing her getting physical therapy coming up too. I wish we could have seen this with Carlos though. and with TK last season after the coma. Oh well. All in all, I enjoyed the episode.
