i wouldn't say i ship kacchako but i DO think their dynamic has so much potential! i wish horikoshi had explored their dynamic more, there are some nice parallels and their chemistry is just very funny, but i can see why he didn't do that, i tihnk a lot of people would have reduced it to a silly love triangle (people love to hierarchize deku's friendships so much i dont get it he loves them all)

i also think a lot of people's dislike for kacchako is a knee-jerk reaction because it's a m/f ship and could be easily reduced to a boring grumpy boy x cute girl dynamic, but i genuinely think they could have had a very nice dynamic in canon! and it's nice to see some people play with it in fanon, sometimes i see very cute fan art :) i think ochako is, similarly to deku, a very fun combination of very very kind and timid + stubborn and enough of a backbone to not let bakugo push her over.... would have loved to see bakugo try to handle that lmao

i don't think I vibe with deku and melissa, they're like cousins to me, especially with all might being her uncle, very cute canon dynamic though i like her

Thank you so much for loving that series its one of my favourites that I've done, but to be fair, I love all my work.

You don't sound rude at all asking why i dislike her. To be honest, I just don't like her character or more specifically how she's written. She's a strong person for starters, her motivation for being a hero is realistic and she doesn't fold easily. She has a great quirk and with great writing could have been an amazing love interest for Izuku.

Why I dislike her is she is one of the main factors on why Izuku kept Deku as his hero name. I hate the name Deku just because of the origin of where it came from. I just have a bad histroy with people who had said very bad things to me like Katsuki has said to Izuku, and I would personally not want anyone thinking its okay to call by that bad name that they know has a bad meaning even if I said I was okay with it.

Also Horikoshi just needs to work better on alot of his female charaters tbh. Besides Mina. We love Mina.

My reason might sound suckish though. I just don't like her. We just don't click. It happens.

My opinions on Demon Slayer/ Kimetsu No Yaiba Dub voices.

Please read this section before giving any accusations, I am not hating on people or thier tastes. Also writing this on mobile else I'd make it prettier. But I am bad at summarizing so yeah.

Okay so I recently got Crunchyroll and I saw they offer multiple dub languages which peaked my curiousity. I wrote alot of notes down for my roommate as we both watched them all + the uppermoons for the english dub as we have seen alot of english dub clips on tiktok.

I am more neutral on the sub vs dub thing and think it comes to personal tastes or accessibility. My dyslexia isnt severe enough I can't read subtitles and use them often for my dysaudia. And as I said people have different tastes so in this case I dont really care. As long as we respect each other.

That in mind, we usually go with the ones that we like the voices for more unless the anime isn't dubbed yet. Usually we prefer the sub but often still like the dub and will watch both. Sometimes we hate the dub and a few times we like the dub better. Just really comes down to how we like the voices. There isnt always a reason for it, its just what feels right to us lol. I feel like I can be picky.

Okay so with this in mind the Japanese voices are our favorite and what we like, but I'm here to give my opinion on the English, Spanish & Porugese dubs. And go from favorite to least favorite.

I do NOT think these are bad VAs but more so bad casting.

Spanish Dub

TL;DR: Would legit watch if I had it had english subs or if I was MUCH better with spanish. 😅🥰

I feel like it mostly hits the mark pretty well, I don't like Kyojuro's voice and muichiro sounds a bit too old. But a few of them sound like the japanese vas speaking spanish, some changes in voice but voices do that when switching languages I find. But overall if not sounding very similar they go for something that fits the character in some aspect very well. Like Sanemi's unhinged rants when he has Nezuko.

⭐ SPANISH OBANAI GIVES ME LIFE. The guy they chose sounds a little hissy in his voice and it just fits so well and makes me laugh bc of that. (Fits well enough outside the hissy part too)

English Dub

TL;DR: Great VAs, BUT the casting person was high or drunk tho. Its so dissapointing and infuriating to me.

THE CASTING FEELS SO OFF. LIKE I KNOW VOICE ACTORS IN HERE AND THEYRE GREAT, BUT I FEEL LIKE THEY GAVE ALOT OF THEM THE WRONG ROLE SISODHIDJS. Some of these feel like the bad dub voices of early 2000s and 90s anime (not saying all are bad, just talking about the bad ones) very annoyingly so. Not my least favorite but infuriates me the most 😅 Inosuke, Gyomei and Sanemi are alright. The hashira overall bother me the most, though it sounds almost like they aimed for a deku-like voice for him which bugs me as like.... that worked for Deku because he's a dweeb.

⭐ The uppermoons sound great! I feel like its pretty spot on, zenitsu as well. Albeit that Zenitsu is more annoying.

Portugese

TL;DR: Overall least favorite, maybe its that I need to hear more Portugese voices overall? Regardless it just didn't scratch my brain the right way. Like trying to pet a cat like a dog.

so far one of my least favorite, the voices mostly sound so off.  Sanemi is pretty decent, Gyomei's voice is SOOOO DEEP. The Sanemi is kind of similar to the spanish. But most dont feel like they fit at ALL. Misturi's sounds like a stereotypical spanish tv dramas (tele novellas??) Like in cartoons and such. Shinobu sounds almost like robotic, or a voice filter. 

⭐ So far Second favorite voice for Kyojuro I feel, despite me disliking most of the voices??? Very odd 😅😂

Hey Ari. This is an arbitrary ask but am I the only one that notices that in a lot of Bakugou x Reader fics, Izuku is made to be some mumbling frightened caricature? And vice versa with slight changes. It’s silly, but they’re so significant to both of their stories, it seems wrong to make them so … insignificant in fic writing? I’m not saying writers have to make them up to be a ship, especially when they’re attempting something else. But it seems so… wrong? Tell me if I’m crazy for thinking this though

i dont think ppl have to like bkdk. or even like izuku like he kind of sucks why lie. but i think it's just... such a blatant bastardization to write the guy the way he is so often written. and the same goes for vice versa when ppl write bkg like some yowling dog like.

but bkg and him are literally . tied to the hip. their growth and progress can't exist without the other. like they're friends, but they're also mirrors and more similar than they are different and that's such a huge huge part of each of their characterization.

it's not even just x reader but so many ppl who dislike one or the other just. try to pretend like that's not real. or write their relationship in a way that hasn't been accurate for them since middle school. it goes against how they're written on like every level and it makes me crazy. and also deku isn't really afraid of bakugou in the way everyone always seems to think he is. especially not this late into the show like again they are companions. and bkg isn't even an angry person atp he is so introspective.

their relationship is so complicated and they don't need to be besties in fic either like they can still be estranged and important to each other but it's just such a common thing in fic and it drives me nuts like what are you saying rn!!!!

i feel like a lot of people just like. didn't watch past the first 2 seasons and base their personalities completely off that and it makes me nuts.

i shouldve been the one to write mha cause my idea is better and more solid than whatever the author has going on here let me get into it

deku is still there but he is not the protag (we’ll get to what he’s doing in a sec) it is actually uraraka. this is because unlike the fucking author, i have an actual concrete idea of what the main conflict should be, which is: in a world where superheroism is privatized and accessorized, how can those who end up in those positions truly be counted on? how can you be a public servant when youre incentivized and rewarded by being more of an entertainer? needless to say we’re throwing away the all for one/one for all plotline but all might is still there and still gravely injured btw

so. with that in mind, uraraka is the pefect mc because she only gets into the hero industry to make money. that is not in of itself immoral or anything, but her personal conflict then becomes is she willing to truly become an actual hero and risk cutting off her family’s income should she die or need to retire, or will she only hold a title that means nothing while still providing for her family? signing up means she’s accepting the role of being responsible for others, and while she was fine with that on paper, she is tested on how far she is willing to go to live up to that...

her two besties will be todoroki and iida, both of which add to the main conflict because they are from hero families. this would showcase the nepotism seen in the unregulated, corrupt superhero force. todoroki and iida probably end up together cause well im biased and i liked their dynamic. they encourage each other to be brave. the stain arc happens almost the exact same in this btw but instead of deku it’s uraraka

anyway. bakugou and deku. bakugou is still an asshole that wants to become a hero just to have power. deku on the other hand becomes...the main villain of the story. he was treated like absolute SHIT for being quirkless and he’s sick of it he wants a revamp of the system. since a lot of villains in the story are villains cause they dislike the descrimination and oppression of superhero society, i think it only makes sense deku becomes a villain. those will “villainous” quirks also join up with him (this includes shinso he’s probably deku’s right hand man)

bakugou is an asshole up until the first time we see deku upon which bakugou a) gets his ass beat and b) gets his entire world flipped upside down cause “holy shit my actions have consequences and it lead to the rising of a supervillain”. bakugou proceeds to enter a guilt and shame induced depression. someone knocks him out of it by like saying “doing nothing is not how you fix your past mistakes!” probably kirishima. but idk. we will see. i dont want a too-big cast cause unlike the author i know my limits with too many characters. but also kirishima is such a highlight of the current mha so it wouldnt be fair to leave him out. anyway.

anyway fun battles. the story goes on. uraraka has a super badass moment where she’s like “im not a fucking television host. i’m not uravity. i am uraraka ochaco and i am human and you will treat me as such!”. i think deku and bakugou both lose arms at some point cause idk i like the symbolism. uraraka et al realize deku has a point and they all work on making a better world. deku might die. cause he’s seen bakugou has changed throughout the story’s duration and he realizes he misses his old childhood friend and uh gets in the way of some blast that wouldve killed bakugou. but either he (if he doesnt die) or shinso are basically given a seat on a commission that overviews new regulations for heroes and such. there’s a lot of work to do but the kids are ready to face the challenges together

My prediction is Bakugo comes back way stronger and puts a hurting on Shig / Afo. Which I dont really want cause Deku suppose to save Tenko but why else would people who dislike him enjoy it. And we saw that Afo was on edge / scarred of him. It seems obvious that Deku has to get there for the fight to end and saving to be done but maybe Bakugo hurts him really bad and we think it's over but Monoma blinks or something happens just like last time and Afo/shig is healed. I feel like the healing thing has to happen at some point this arc is mirroring the last one in lots of details.

uhhh tbh most any of the student ships, I don't super care to ship any of them anyway, since I'm reading the manga mostly for the lov lol. they arent even NoTPs just. wouldnt seek out content for most of em (esp deku ships, do not really care for a majority of them, like idgaf abt tododeku or bakudeku or whatever. now whatever the name for deku/aoyama is is Good, but again, prob not seeking it out and im fine with it as a brotp or ship either way)

2. also I guess shigadabi, but thats more of an issue with the way I think most popular fanfics/art tend to make shigaraki wildly ooc, rather than an issue I'd have with the ship itself? so I prefer spinaraki and then like shigadabi as a brotp in most cases if im looking at fics or w/e

I didn't really care for the final exams arc, the provisional hero license exam arc, or the joint training arc but like, that's because I don't LIKE arcs with huge focus on only the students where we dont see the lov for a long time. which is a total preference thing and doesnt mean those are BAD arcs, just ones I didnt like. but like, its called my hero ACADEMIA they r the main characters or whatever I guess 🙄

Hey!! How would you rank the general characteristics or ”traits” of anime characters from your your most to least favorite? and why? Have a nice day❤️

This is interesting! I never really thought much about this. 

I'm assuming you're referring to anime trait tropes I like and dislike. I'm sorry if I misunderstood this (that would be embarrassing)!

I love love love characters in anime who possess insane fighting abilities…but not with flashy powers. Characters like Maki Zenin, Mikasa/Levi Ackerman and Kohaku who are fast and agile and smart in their strategy and decision making. Though theres usually some supernatural influence, it isnt very evident like with characters such as Bakugou and Deku in MHA. Its just really impressive and admirable and fun to watch! These characters are usually also seemingly very intimidating at first but actually have big hearts and are very dedicated and show it more through their actions and determination than anything else. 

i also really love seemingly very stoic characters who are just the funniest (and sometimes even sweetest) people ever. like genos, uenoyama (and mafuyu!!)- theyre unintentionally super hilarious and its so sweet to have those kinds of characters have fun and be silly n shit. warms my heart.

i like smart characters in general too! Senku, L; characters that just know how to use their knowledge and reasoning to their advantage in some sort of conflict. I think its just as cool to watch as it is watching characters who are really physically strong and you also learn a thing or two from them. It gets you thinking critically with the rest of the cast. 

I also really like passionate characters. Characters who openly indulge in things they love. Kageyama, Reki and Senku (again, i love him) are prominent examples. Usually this is seen in sports animes like Haikyuu and Sk8 the Infinity but im sure there are plenty other examples! Again, for me its fun to learn a thing or two but its also entertaining to watch them grow in their crafts and share their excitement over their passion with others (cough heavily ties into the found family trope which is a whole separate thing i love). 

On the downside, I dont really like the possessive/jealous/stalker trope that seems to really appeal to some people. i dont really indulge in animes with characters like that (for the reason that its super weird and creepy) so i cant think of very many examples. The only examples i can think of at the moment is Kagari Atsuhiro from My Sweet Tyrant (which i was uncomfortable watching for the most part) and Makoto Teruhashi from Saiki K (though i feel Makoto can also very well fit into the next category). 

I cannot STAND the perverted characters in anime. Their “comedic relief” aspect mostly revolves around harassing women and being a creep and its just…not funny. And just makes me uncomfortable. I know theres usually one per anime but they have to be one of my least favorite parts of an entire series. Some examples are Toritsuka from Saiki K., Yamai from Komi Cant Communicate (ESP HER ATM) and Mineta from MHA.

oh boy im about to get absolutely destroyed but tododeku. i dont read established relationships much and i prefer lots of drama but the vibe i get from tododeku is theyd get together without much hassle so i just have no interest

13: unpopular opinion about bakugou?

ohhhh boy. i dont think theres anything i can say about him that hasnt been said before. the fandom has analyzed him to hell and back and honestly i think theyve got a pretty good grasp on his character at this point so i dont think any of my headcanons would really qualify here....

i think the biggest thing would be that i think he gets too much focus in the fandom. yeah hes the foil for the mc and hes had probably the most character growth out of everyone but there are other characters yall can obsess over smh.

also i think hes much more up front about how he feels than hes portrayed as a lot of the time. the shit he keeps to himself is either stuff hes still figuring out or stuff he feels guilty about but even in the case of the latter it comes up sooner rather than later (deku vs kacchan 2 for example). once he knows how he thinks/feels he doesnt really hide it. i think a lot of the time in fics he tends to keep things pent up or is sometimes a bit tsundere but honestly i think hes much more straightforward than that. hes not afraid of consequences because he very much believes he can overcome anything with enough effort so hes going to say what he thinks and deal with the results as they come up.

ngl though most of the fic i read is shippy stuff so this may not apply in non-romantic scenarios

10: most disliked arc? why?

the pre-ua arc. mostly because the only characters we see are all might deku and bakugou and im more invested in the dynamics of the class as a whole.

early bakugou is The Worst and while i think showing that is important in order to establish how he grows as the series goes on, its not something that i especially care to rewatch. i think looking back on cringey middle school times is always difficult for me irl or otherwise so its not really a complaint about bakugou specifically but yeah.

as for all might i frankly disagree with a lot of his views on being a hero and this is when most of them are established. every time i watch this i just want to argue with him lol

and with deku tbh im just not super a fan of him??? i think part of it is because a lot of his behavior thats emphasized in canon is stuff that i personally struggle with (his tendency to worry about others to the point that he completely neglects himself for one) and while overall i think this is something the series discourages i also want to shake him and scream at him every time he does this stuff. please value yourself small green child. (also all might encourages the self sacrificing stuff and sees it as a sign of being a True Hero and this is an excellent example of what i was talking about in the previous paragraph.)

also its always kinda bothered me that the initial couple episodes are all deku trying to become a hero without a quirk but a) hes not actually doing anything to get closer to his goal (unless you count the analysis of other heroes) like he knows he wouldnt be able to rely on a quirk but hes not even trying to figure out any more obtainable alternatives hes just saying "i want to do this thing" and then not putting any effort in until all might offers to train him. meanwhile characters who are equally committed to the same goal (bakugou and todoroki for example, although todorokis situation is complicated what with endeavor being The Worst and all) are training themselves physically in addition to strengthening their quirks. i would consider deku to be more on par with characters like kirishima who didnt commit to the hero thing until their last year of junior high but that just doesnt match up with the emphasis by both deku himself and the narrative that he has always really wanted to become a hero.

also the whole "i want to become a hero even though i dont have a quirk" thing gets resolved by him just. getting a quirk?? idk i feel like bnha toys with the idea of addressing quirkless discrimination but always just handwaves it away. like oh this character wants to do something that historically has never been achieved by someone with his disability. the resolution is that he no longer has the disability.

also in the case of touya it talks about his experience having a quirk thats incompatible with his body and how that affects him and shapes him but then it just gets kinda pushed aside by endeavors influence on the situation and instead of talking about how touya was affected by a bad home life and struggling with disability and being unable to accept his limits, it just becomes "endeavor was bad at dealing with the situation and then touya became a villain" idk it just keeps skirting around this stuff that i think is important from both a world building perspective and also applicable to actual things that irl people deal with but ultimately it just dismisses it as unimportant. like objectively saying "hey the mc is considered disabled and then in chapter three is magically no longer disabled" is a dick move. yes he struggles with adjusting but like?? the emphasis was on the disability and then it immediately just removed that factor and moved on to a New Problem (oh no the quirk is Too Awesome) (because he didnt bother to do any sort of training or anything to reach his goal until all might was in the picture)

i went on a big tangent but tldr a lot of the problems i have with bnha are especially emphasized in the first five episodes or so and because of that and my lack of interest in the characters with the most screen time (sorry deku stans) i just cant stand the "training to get into ua" arc
