Wild and revolutionary concept: maybe don't treat converts like trash just because they're converts? And also don't ask someone if they're a convert in a public setting?

Have you noticed that in both Frank and Julie's descriptions, it says 'In the storybook record, "Happy Haunting to Boo and Yours," it is implied Frank and Julie could be a couple.'
Could this tie into your theory irc of how the show is like trying to force Frank and Julie to be a romantic couple even though that they truly view each other as best friends?
oh i mean. yeah! it's practically fact at this point, isn't it? especially now that That's been put into their bios

i think its weird that i have to make this disclaimer but the internet is crazy so wtvr,, anyway,,
if i say i dont like something, that doesnt mean "that thing is bad and nobody should post it.."
i swear literally every time i even mention that i dislike something, people will go "wow does that mean u fucking hate me cuz i post that thing? ur a fucking stupid bitch and all ur opinions r wrong" LIKE ?? er.. no. just because i say i dont like certain characterizations of certain characters (the saiki k fandom is CRAZY about this cuz i can state an opinion on literally any character and a group of people will still go 'well only we're allowed to post our opinions about them because we're always right!1!1!'), or certain ship tropes (mentioned my hatred of toxic yaoi maybe once or twice on here months ago and people STILL get mad at me as if i said toxic yaoi lovers r evil or something), or certain ships, or WHATEVER, does not mean that i HATE the people who are posting them or that i think they shouldnt post them at all, NO, im just posting about my personal tastes on my personal blog and it would be extremely weird and hypocritical if i decided that i was the ONLY person that was allowed to do that,,
i think the only reason people assume that is because there are a lot of other people on here who ARE like that, and a lot of people toe the line between posting that they dont like something and posting that they think everyone who likes that thing is stupid, annoying, and wrong,, so i guess all i can say is, sorry for whatever made you make these assumptions but they arent true about me so plz leave me alone ʘ‿ʘ ur doing the same thing to me that ur accusing me of but i didnt do it in the first place so ur just actively being a dick for no reason

So, about Glory.
I have a lot feelings about Glory. The DoD are all on a journey to know themselves already, but at least they all have a prophecy to lean on for meaning. Glory has nothing, she's not even supposed to be here. She's never told who she is, just that she's nothing, so she had to come up with an identity right down to NAMING HERSELF.
And yet, Glory still wants someone to love her. She got the worst of Kestrel and Dune's abuse, she had to shut out any weaknesses and just fade into the background (sometimes literally) just to survive. The other DoDs love her, but they also have love on the outside, too. That's why she's so devastated when she learns she'll never know who her parents are. Once again, Glory is the only person who can tell her who she is.
And who is she? Queen if the fucking Rainwings that's who. She doesn't have to fade into the background and be furniture anymore, she's taking charge if herself and her kind. No more hiding, it's time to show the world what Rainwings are made of.
And who was the main person to tell her she was nothing? Morrowseer. She might as well have been invisible to him, as all Rainwings are. Nightwings were practically owning Rainwings, they didn't belong in the story. And the biggest fuck you Glory could ever hand to Morrowseer was not ONLY being the Rainwing queen, but the Nightwing queen as well. I only wish he could have been alive to bow to her.
After being nothing, I think Glory deserved everything.
I know some people think queen Glory is too OP and I just super disagree. I have a hard time understanding what's so OP about it, honestly. She worked for that crown, and she made the Rainwings stronger and more respected without ever having to resort to murder as dragon queens often do. Glory had to learn her own Rainwing strength and awaken it in others.
So yeah, I love Glory a lot. Is her story wish fulfillment? Probably. Is it cool as fuck? Yes.

do you think the mess in oshiros hotel is meant to signify that hes been letting his problems pile up until its become too overwhelming to handle.
im thinking about the fact that he's definitely the one who's been making the mess but he doesn't even realize it. he ignores the clutter until it becomes too hard to ignore you know? like when it starts actively blocking the way to the presidential suite. he insists that he and his staff will handle it and that madeline shouldn't clean up his own mess, but he still doesn't do anything about it. does he know that the staff is gone? that it's just him there?
mr oshiro is so hell bent on impressing madeline so that she'll stay in his hotel. he's so in denial of everything. he doesn't even realize he's dead, he still thinks his hotel never got shut down. I think his insistence on her staying is bc he really wants to believe that the hotel is open, and a costumer would affirm that belief. it could also maybe be a mixture of loneliness too. (also, him treating her as a costumer even after she says no is absolutely him being in denial. that man is very unhealthily attached to this hotel,)
and even though it was nice of madeline to clean it up, there's still parts of the hotel she can't fix. the plumbing. the windows. the, hole in the ceiling (oops.) she's not qualified to help him, and that's why I think the chapter ends on a bit of a sour note. madeline is of course not a bad person for wanting to help, the point is that she can't. it is unfortunate but true
anyways mr oshiro is a very good character i like him a regular amount. im normal about that old man

@the3gracesshownattheirbath (don't think it's letting me tag you properly, soz!) basically what i use now is just a simple moleskine notebook in which i write down the title, author and date i finished the book, then a short summary in my own words (sometimes i forego this esp if it's a re-read) and jot down my thoughts on it, any quotes i liked from the book, whatever the lead-up to my reading it may have been etc. i also use it sometimes when i'm reading a play or smth for school, not always but on occasion just to make notes as i'm going through the text. i also compile little poems i like in there but i haven't done much of that this year!
it's taken on different forms since i've been doing this though, in my first official reading journal i also noted down DNF's or book acquisitions and sometimes made notes on audiobooks i was listening to, but i've found none of that really interests me so i ended up just simplifying it down to this which works lovely for me :)

Overall I thought Nocturne was better from an art perspective and worse from... basically every other perspective than Season 1 of Castlevania. Which is really quite sad to me, considering it had double the episodes that Castlevania's first season had.
The art style and animation is incredible, and the music was quite good as well. The character design was also amazing, and nearly the entire main cast looked inspired and interesting. Honestly, it felt like the artists and animators were flexing the entire time.
But the pacing, the voice acting, the setting, the story in general, the sheer amount of exposition, and the dialogue were all lacking so badly. The show tried to accomplish way too much in 8 episodes and suffered pretty terribly for it. If they had scaled the story down significantly, they would have had a lot more time to get the audience actually invested in the characters and plot. It's quite hard to pull off the emotional beats that they attempted when the character has been on screen for 5 minutes total, and for me nearly all of them fell flat. It's especially disappointing that the season ended with the characters losing terribly, because it'll probably be a year at least before we get a continuation (if we get one at all).
Huge spoilers under the cut:
Getting to see Alucard at the end was exciting, but it didn't feel like quite the right time. We're just starting to know these characters, so throwing the arguably Most Beloved Castlevania Character into the mix doesn't seem like a particularly good way to get people invested in the rest of the cast. I guess it'll depend on if they can fix the pacing and dialogue issues, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. Either way, glad I got to see his SotN Kojima-style design animated, even if it looks a little divorced from the OG design.

Best thing about being a Scooby Doo fan: you can meet some of the nicest people with some really cool ideas and hcs, there's such an abiding love for the franchise, which on its own is just AMAZING, such a wealth of content to dive into, and I haven't even gotten into the fan REDESIGNS and aus and-
Worst thing about being a Scooby Doo fan: people irl in public will come up to you with some of the worst Scooby takes ever (Scrappy found dead in Miami, SDMI revolutionized animation, etc.) and you have to restrain yourself from getting into a fistfight with some rando acquaintance/friend-of-a-friend in public ALL THE TIME 💀

it kind of bothers me that witcher fans don’t really unite under sapkowski’s name like other fans of fantasy authors do (e.g. “tolkien fans”).
in practically any other fandom of fantasy books, save for the particularly rancid authors known for their disappointing and shameful behavior or views (e.g. jk r*wling), it’s just regular business to say the author’s name. but sapkowski’s name is treated like a dirty word in the witcher fandom, for really no good reason…
it must be asked — what is stopping us from doing so?! why don’t we call ourselves sapkowski fans. it would be much easier than saying “i’m a fan of the witcher, but only the books, i don’t consider the various adaptations canon, etc. etc.” … “half a hundred words, when three are enough!!”
