i need to atone for my recent history . — @antithesederzeit / holy war
𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐈𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐀 to produce an asshole gaping enough to rattle the harrington regime. it’d been one hell of a shake-up, the white collar king deposed by a blue collar hellion. it was enough to put the fear in much of the high school’s populace, but from eddie’s vantage point billy hargrove’s true nature couldn’t be more obvious. birds of a feather don’t always flock together, but they sure as hell recognize their kin. and eddie munson could see it, clear as day, all the way down in the seedy mud of his social trenches.
hargrove would’ve loved to convince the hawkins-bred that he was a power fantasy adonis. the rightful heir to every chick. while that facade meant something to some, it read pitiful chest thumping to eddie. nothing without sad, self-loathing purpose in every blowhard, big bad wolfism. he was overcompensating himself into a monster, to protect himself from what lurked at home. which is why little billy beseeching with curved humility between his legs tickled eddie’s family history.
a wily smile chided his he-manic counterpart for his inability to tell the difference between himself and one wild, little sister. maybe hargrove witnessing their respective middle fingers more than their actual faces was to blame for the mistake in identity.
passively perched on the patchy red paint on the curb, eddie rapped his fingers in succession against a half-hollowed coke can. the sweet brown sucrose inside sloshed, stickily harmonizing with the metallic echo.
❝ i get the striking resemblance, but last i checked i wasn’t your sister. ❞ citric acid and caramel fizzled as the musician took a sip, smacked his lips, and set the can aside. ❝ i’m not the one you need to atone to. ❞

A Bone to Pick (Chapter Preview)
(Shadowpeach shippers I am serving crumbs on a silver platter, come and eat!)
“Macaque, what exactly are you—?” Before Wukong could finish the question, Macaque had dashed over to The Not-Mayor and, with the evilest grin possible, punched the still-downed man in the gut. The lapdog spat out some blood and what little breath he had in his lungs upon impact, before rocketing down the tunnel and out of the cave.
“Holy whoa!” Bai He smiled.
“Guess we’re doing this now, huh?” Mei asked with a lazy grin.
Macaque sighed happily. “That felt nice… that felt real nice.” He then turned to the others with a casual grin. “Keep up guys,” and then he sank into the shadows. No doubt chasing after the man he just punched.
“Y’know,” Pigsy crossed his arms, “I forgot fer a second he’s about as old as Monkey King and almost as strong.”
“Well, Team B is moving out!” Mei started jogging ahead, with Sandy and Pigsy right behind her. “You guys better go catch up with Mac-Attack. Don’t want him to accidentally flatten Zhongyu, you know?”
Tang spared one last glance to Team A. “Try not to get electrocuted.” Then, with one last odd glance at Monkey King, he was running to catch up with the others.
MK exchanged a look with PB and Bai He. “You two ready?”
“You bet I am!” PB grinned eagerly.
From her spot piggybacking on PB, Bai He gave a familiar-looking evil grin to MK. “I’ve been wanting to do this all day.”
“Great! Monkey King are you—Monkey King?” The trio turned to see the Great Sage standing with wide-eyed amazement, staring at the spot where Macaque had just disappeared. His tail was wagging slightly, his cheeks were a little pink, and his fur looked fluffier for some reason.
MK reached over and shook the king’s shoulder. “Monkey King?”
“Nothing!” Monkey King shouted, looking panicked.
“Huh? I didn’t say anything but your name.” MK raised a brow.
“Oooh, fluffy.” PB reached over and patted Monkey King’s head like he was a kitten, marveling at his new fluffy fur texture. “How’d your fur get so fluffy, Mr. King?”
Face even redder, Monkey King swatted her hand away. “Let’s talk about something else, anything else really.”
“How come you look so nervous and sweaty right now?” Bai He asked.
“… Anything else besides that.”
“Well we can either talk about kicking Zhongyu’s butt, or we could actually go kick it.” MK gestured towards the exit. “Which do you prefer?”
Monkey King sighed a bit, before smiling. “Actually kicking his but…”
“Great! Then le-go!” MK charged out of the cave, drawing his staff out. PB took off behind him, Bai He giggling in excitement. Monkey King hesitated a bit, waiting to make sure they were far enough away before he frantically started patting and combing his orange fur back into place.
He decided, pointedly, to not examine what just happened to him until after The Not-Mayor was no longer a problem… but that didn’t mean the butterflies in his stomach were going away anytime soon.

Happy WBW!
If you had to pick a chef/cook from one country/location in your setting to cook you a fancy dinner, where would you pick and why?
Will I be delving into one of the most niche corners of Honor's Outcasts for this? Yes I will
In book 2, Izjik and Djek get take-out from a goblin resteraunt run by an old broodmatron named Kutt ir Kana. Goblin food (in Earth terms) is like a sea-food heavy blend of Jamaican and Cajun cuisine. Staples include jerk crawfish (eaten by goblins with the shell on), blackened dolear (a cactus grown by dwarves similar in taste to a plantain), spicy catfish stew, okra curry, and coconut biscuits. It's all got a rather sweet-spicy taste to it and features lots of seared vegetables. I would eat this delicious meal where it's meant to be enjoyed; on the wharves of the trade city Nacé, watching the crowd after a hard day's work. Goblins tend to exist everywhere on Illaros, especially since their mother nation was co-opted into the Republic during the War of Conquest. Nacé is simply one of many places where they and their delicious food have gained a foothold.
Thanks for the ask, I always love talking about the more grounded aspects of cultures!

Imagine if Makoto is somehow sent back in time to the day he's supposed to recieve the letter from Hope's Peak Academy.
He is standing in front of the gates of his former highschool. He's in the body of his younger self.
The world around him looks fine and normal, nothing unusual - just like it did before the Tragedy.
But all the memories of what he had gone through are fresh in his mind. Monokuma, the Killing Games, Ultimate Despair, his friends, the Future Foundation - everything!
So, he takes the usual path and runs back home, quickly. The letter! It must be at his doorstep now!
He knocks frantically on the door, and Komaru opens it. He asks her if he has recieved any letter from Hope's Peak, and she shakes her head.
His parents come and ask him if everything's alright.
Makoto looks at them, his eyes welling up. They're alive! He runs and hugs them. His mother and father look at each other, wondering why their son is behaving so strangely. Nevertheless, they hug him back.
"Oh, the winner of that draw is announced!" Komaru says, looking at her phone.
"What draw?" asks her mother.
"The lucky draw conducted by Hope's Peak Academy."
And, Makoto feels a chill go down his back.
"It's some girl," Komaru says, showing them the photo of the winner. "Wow, she's so lucky."
Makoto trembles as he stares at the photo of a highschool girl, the proclaimed Ultimate Lucky Student of Class 78.
No, it was . . . It was supposed to be him.
It was supposed to be him!
His family asks him repeatedly what's wrong, but what can Makoto tell them? Whatever he says, they won't believe him at all.
"Are you sad that you didn't win?" asks his mother. "It's okay, you can try again next year."
He drops to his knees, completely dazed.
Instead of him, that girl will go to Hope's Peak Academy. Instead of him, that girl will meet his friends. His very friends with whom he endured hell together and made it through together. His very friends who stuck with him, despite it all, again and again.
And now, his friends are never going to know of his existence.
And he's never going to see them again.

Top 5 Magical Girls?
Madoka Kaname
I'm still in love with this series over ten years later. She also has my favorite design in the series. You can't beat the cupcake skirt/petticoat. I also identify with her feeling very useless, a lot of what she says is stuff I said at that age. She has always been a very relatable character to me. Despite some finding her to be the least interesting out of the main cast.
2. Princess Tutu Duck
this was a hard toss-up ( my favorite character is actually Rue) but duck is the central point of the show! Also way more transformations
3. Setsuna/Cure passion
my favorite precure! Her arc is my favorite out of the series I've completed. I also love her design the red/pink combo is lovely. I feel later cures have kinda missed the mark design-wise.
4.Maria Renard
You can't tell me she doesn't count. I don't care if I'm cheating here. She was designed with shoujo elements in mind and has been a favorite character of mine since childhood.
5. onpu segawa
currently rewatching the show! So far she's my current favorite! when I was younger saw the original 4kids dub. So being sick a lot this past week made me want to sit down and get through the series in full.
